I'm so sorry I know my sister and I are asking a lot-
But I was wondering,
What do you think would happen if the Park Manager's Lodge held a Halloween costume party? I did see some posts in the past of Benson and Stella wearing some costumes for Halloween, I wonder if they could match outfits with Gene and his son? 😭💖💖 You do not have to answer this if you are busy or anything! I literally love how you draw Gene so much! 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

maisie is sooo baby butch. I look at her and I see someone who is about to fall in love with her girl best friend and have the worst sexuality crisis. in two years she’s going to cut all her hair off and invest in a baggy pants + work boots combo look.
claire will know before she can even consider it (bisexual feminist gaydar) and owen will not realize until maisie tells them outright (straight man gaydar). claire will tell him of her suspicions and he’ll be like “idk her style isn’t that different than zia or kayla’s. it’s in fashion these days” in complete earnest forcing her to give him A Look. he also suggested getting franklin a girlfriend once so claire was really just setting herself up.
maisie’ll be like “okay guys don’t make a big deal about this but I’m actually only into girls” and claire will be like I KNEW IT I KNEW IT I KNEW IT love you honey I KNEW IT and owen will be like door-stays-open rule applies to all genders.
she will be showered in absolutely egregious rainbow items and owen will buy an I LOVE MY GAY DAUGHTER shirt that maisie refuses to let him wear in public. he is going to anyways because he does love his gay daughter. just like the I LOVE MY BISEXUAL WIFE mug gets mileage. maisie hits her limit when he starts watching ellen to “learn more about gay culture”.
with claire nothing really changes because again she’s been eagerly anticipating this. maisie realizes belatedly this is why claire was always playing shit like xena warrior princess and buffy the vampire slayer on weekends.
maisie will ask him how to get a girl to notice her and he’ll have to be like “just because I landed your mom does NOT mean I know HOW I did it”. because in his mind he kind of just bothered her until she gave him the time of day and he cannot ethically encourage that. claire will be equally unhelpful with “be yourself” lines. maisie is doomed. luckily for maisie, her mother has a medical condition where she can only befriend homosexuals (zia, franklin, kayla). they give her also terrible but more useful advice like shave half your head and invest in leather jackets.
maisie’s first pride is deeply traumatizing. twinks keep assuming her father is a bear and hitting on him while telling claire she’s “serving major cunt” and just seeing her is a “try not to say MOTHER challenge”. to make things worse, claire’s natural canonical butch-stud magnetism is working over time. owen is fighting for his life while a sea of beautiful masculine women toss his wife around like she’s a basketball. she scores both zia and kayla dates that night. all in all a very lovely day that they end with a drag show dinner performance.
eventually maisie will find a beautiful girlfriend and she’ll be terrorized in a similar way with owen’s new “my daughter’s not gay but her girlfriend is” hat. the more they complain the funnier he thinks it is. claire chides him but she secretly thinks it’s a funny bit.

Elysian Theories
Elysian's Powers:
The current known trait of her ability is being able to stop a person from using their ability. Additionally, that includes being able to stop multiple people from doing so as Sophie, Maruca, Marella, Fitz, Keefe, and Gisela were immediately cut off from using their abilities. We do not know the duration of their power loss, but the closest thing to this instance is when Grady Ruewen mesmered the Council into slapping themselves. That was short lived, but involved twelve people being controlled, in comparison to the six people here, adding to the plausibility of that many people being controlled, even if the nature of the ability itself is very powerful.
The specifics of Elysian's powers include flicking off a switch inside of the person, shutting down their unruly emotions, and clearing their vision, which can be generalized to clearing their emotions like a reset button. In contrast to Sophie's reaction, Fitz appears to get a headache from the loss of his telepathy, which could be due to the fact that Sophie is the moonlark and has an unnatural defense built in that might make her reaction easier to manage. Still, she has reacted similarly to Fitz when around humans, so that is not as likely.
As for Elysian's nature, she is described as a "figure in a gray cloak" who "[steps] out of thin air," likely blinking as Sophie does when playing base quest in the beginning of the series with Biana, Keefe, and Fitz (Messenger 728). Additionally, she says, "I am the power source you're all here looking for," which can be seen as cocky or just plain factual (Messenger 728). Either could add to her character, making her arrogant or almost numb, like an empath, although that does not necessarily matter right now.
For the actual theory element of this, Elysian's power appears to relate to illusions in the mind as she seems to put up a wall between the person and their ability. The most notable illusionist, Vespera Follend, expressed the need to keep Elysian locked up, which could be due to prior knowledge, perhaps forgotten secrets that were not necessarily removed from Vespera, who might have already been put in jail at the time and essentially forgotten herself. The only other ability close enough to creating illusions is a flasher, but considering that the ability was one used to find Elysian and release her, I doubt that she has that ability, since the people who locked her up would not want her to be able to break out of any section of her prison. Therefore, Elysian has elements of an Empath's ability, which is further proven by how Keefe's combined polyglot and empath abilities allow him to control people through verbal tone and emotions. Elysian did not speak until afterwards, so the tone is likely not part of how she works, but the emotional side of the empath very well could be.
Similar to the shows Avatar: the Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, Elysian appears to be able to disrupt a person's connection to their ability, much like chi blocking. Considering that ancient minds are practically impenetrable, she would be able to put up mental shields in her own mind (with the assumption that she would be an Ancient). Additionally, Elysian's ability extends beyond her own mental shields, like the shields against telepaths and empaths, as seen by Fintan and Gisela (although not an Ancient, she hid her true emotions and thus her lies from her family who consisted of empaths). Elysian can put up a mental shield between a person and their ability. Her genetics were likely a hybrid of an inflictor, telepath, empath, and/or mesmer. While Bronte is the only known inflictor, the genes likely appeared earlier, at least the elements of what developed into his, and they possibly remained dormant in other people, but not necessarily in Elysian.
Why Elysian was Locked Away:
Her ability is clearly dangerous, which would cause the other elves to be hesitant of her. Elysian likely came before the pyrokinetic ban as that would be the first moment that an ability like hers would have been necessary and possibly why Kenric would have sought out Elysian, becoming weary of the ability and wanting a failsafe that could temporarily, if not permanently remove the ability and therefore remove the problem. There is not something that necessarily suggests that Kenric would want to remove the pyrokinesis ability, still, he did search for the woman. People do not look for a power source without a plan of how they could use it, and for a Councillor in charge of protecting a world that did not even know it needed to be changed, Kenric Fathdom had a lot of reasons to go searching for Elysian.
Because stellarlune has become such a big part of the series, Elysian likely experimented with this as a younger woman, and she likely found a way to use that as her own way of getting permanently enhanced, removing the need of that ability in order to make her extremely powerful. That would have made her a target to the Council, who would want to know that they have absolute power, but would never be assured of that if she was able to roam free. The prison was a way to safeguard themselves, and the Council knew that none of them had a power that strong.
How Elysian Pulls Stellarlune and Legacies Together:
Shannon Messenger did not originally plan for Keefe Sencen to be a character in her book series, but since then has clearly embraced his role in the series. His mother, Gisela, has no clear connection that would allow her access to the knowledge about Elysian, so I am going to get a little far from reality in this section of the theory and say that Elysian was part of Gisela's family tree, specifically her mother's side. Those who were related to Elysian likely had two primary choices; they could try and forget that she ever existed because of how jealous they felt when they remembered that she had such a powerful ability and they did not, or they could continue her work, keeping everything related to her and stellarlune as they passed it down for generations to the bright children in their family line who they expected to continue the work without telling others. Through this, the family would have learned the time that the stars would align, allowing for the location of Elysian to be accessible. The family would have passed this down slowly, likely waiting until they were a couple hundred years old and wanted to essentially retire from the work. At this point, they would likely pass down the knowledge of Elysian to their child, who would be in the mid hundreds at this point.
The only exclusion to this tradition would be Gisela Minette, a girl who was so promising that she manifested with two abilities. There are two version of this that could have occurred. The first would be when Gisela was a kid. She manifested as a polyglot first, so her mother told her to hide her other ability, which she manifested at home, from the Council, and even her father. Young Gisela would have been trained extra hard in her polyglot ability by her mother, but only watched her father whenever he conjured something, trying to copy the ability in her room when the door was locked. The other version would be that Gisela had aftereffects of the contents that she drank while pregnant with Keefe, and that caused the potential in her to be brought out in the form of a conjurer. She could have privately trained in the ability, but still not gotten anywhere near mastering it as she still struggled a decade and a half later.
As for the "family legacy," Gisela learned about the details when she was a couple hundred years old, sooner than her previously family members, as her mother trusted that she would be the one to complete the tasks, knowing how special and driven Gisela was. (This would have occurred before Gisela had married Cassius and had Keefe.) Based off that, she would have developed her idea for stellarlune and Keefe's legacy before marrying, choosing Cassius because he was a strong empath, and Elysian had genetic connections to the ability. Through that, Keefe's legacy is to become the next Elysian, extending beyond the ability to shut off elves' special abilities, but to also prompt people to manifest and control their physical actions.
In summary, Elysian's ability allows her to put up mental blocks between a person and their connection to their special ability. Gisela is Elysian's descendant, and Keefe is the product of his heritage and experimentation. Elysian is not an overpowered character; she can only shut off elves' special abilities, but the Talentless have been living without them and therefore can survive without that power. The one who is overpowered is Keefe, because now, he has Elysian's ability and Grady's ability combined into one, allowing him to control both the mind and the body, making him the most powerful character in the entire Keeper of the Lost Cities Series.

Tony Lo Bianco
American actor who fitted naturally into the 70s trend for gritty crime thrillers as a brute with a twinkle in his eye
The American actor Tony Lo Bianco, who has died of cancer aged 87, specialised in hoods and heavies, often played with an uncommon twinkle in the eye that suggested he was in on some grim private joke. “I guess I’ll have to do a nun next,” he said after a run of such roles.
There was never any doubt that he meant business. “If you encountered Tony in a deserted alley at midnight, you’d be inclined to hand him your wallet before he asked for it,” wrote a US newspaper in 1978.
With his conspiratorial manner, imposing stare and tractor-tyre eyebrows, Lo Bianco fitted naturally into the 70s trend for gritty crime thrillers. As the mobster Sal Boca in The French Connection (1971), he is pursued by the New York cop “Popeye” Doyle (Gene Hackman) for his role in buying a massive shipment of heroin. The Seven-Ups (1973) reunited Lo Bianco with his friend and French Connection co-star Roy Scheider, and gave him a bigger bite of the cherry, this time as a shady police informer in a camel-hair coat and sharp hat.
His first major role had already proved he was more eccentric than any rent-a-thug. In The Honeymoon Killers (1970), which was inspired by real events, he played the silver-tongued Spanish con-artist Ray Fernandez, who embarks on a murder spree with a lonely woman whom he tries to swindle. Martin Scorsese was sacked as the film’s director for dragging his feet, but the end result (with the composer and librettist Leonard Kastle stepping in after Scorsese’s exit) has a sizzling, unwholesome B-movie tang, due in no small part to Lo Bianco’s oleaginous presence and his rapport with Shirley Stoler as his partner-in-crime.
Most of his finest screen work was done in the 70s. He was a police detective investigating seemingly random murders in the supernatural horror God Told Me To, and an injured, suicidal former rodeo rider raising his young sons in Glory Days, AKA Goldenrod (both 1976).
Bloodbrothers (1978), in which Lo Bianco was all gruffness and gristle as an Italian-American construction worker pressuring his recalcitrant son (Richard Gere) to follow in his footsteps, was especially dear to him. “It’s very close to my heart,” he said. “I know the characters like I know my family.”
In the same year, he was a surprisingly genial crime boss opposite Sylvester Stallone in the union drama F.I.S.T. “Sure, I could have played [him] as one more Italian thug,” he reflected. “But does the world really need another overbearing, obnoxious, obvious slob to dismiss or look down on as some kind of buffoon?”
Lo Bianco attributed his facility as an actor partly to his upbringing. “Coming from an Italian family in a big city, my emotions were always close to the surface, ready to live life fully, to give, to laugh and cry without holding back, without strain.”
He was born in New York City to Carmelo, a taxi driver, and Sally (nee Blando). One of his teachers at William E Grady high school suggested he give acting a go, though his early passions were largely sporting ones. As a teenager, he tried out for the Brooklyn Dodgers, and was also a Golden Gloves welterweight boxer. “I guess you’d say I was a borderline delinquent. It was the 50s, Elvis time, leather jackets, a time for being tough.”
Years later, he would step back into the ring to play the boxer Rocky Marciano in the television biopic Marciano (1979). He returned to the same story, again for TV, in Rocky Marciano (1999), this time as the gangster-turned-promoter Frankie Carbo opposite Jon Favreau as the prizefighter.
Lo Bianco studied acting at the Dramatic Workshop in Manhattan in the late 50s, and founded the Weekend Theater there in order to gain experience. “I built the sets, the stage, and put in the lighting. I got it going.” He did the same in 1963 with the Triangle Theater, where he also served as artistic director. It was here that he first met Scheider.
He accumulated numerous credits on television, including a recurring role between 1971 and 1973 as a doctor in the long-running soap opera Love of Life, and on stage: in 1975, he won an Obie (an award for an off-Broadway performance) for his portrayal of a fading baseball star in Yanks-3 Detroit-0, Top of the Seventh. He also won a Tony for playing the tormented longshoreman Eddie Carbone in A View from the Bridge in 1983.
Appearing in the Italian caper Mean Frank and Crazy Tony (1973) immediately after his success in The French Connection, Lo Bianco seemed to be spoofing his own image when it was still in its infancy: he played a none-too-bright crook who idolises a legendary gangster (Lee Van Cleef). But the actor re-asserted his authority on television in the anthology series Police Story (1973-76). He was one of only a handful of cast members who appeared in more than one episode. Even more unusually, he was on the right side of the law this time.
In Franco Zeffirelli’s mini-series Jesus of Nazareth (1977), he was Quintillius, who advises Pontius Pilate, played by Rod Steiger. A year later, also on television, he starred in The Last Tenant as a man dealing with the increasing needs of his senile, irascible father, played by the acting guru Lee Strasberg. In the 80s he won plaudits for a TV adaptation of Paul Shyre’s play Hizzoner!, in which he starred as the New York mayor Fiorello La Guardia. This spawned several spin-offs, including La Guardia and The Little Flower, written by Lo Bianco and performed by him across the world at the start of this century.
Notable later roles include a mafia boss in the lighthearted, 30s-set Clint Eastwood/Burt Reynolds vehicle City Heat (1984), a corrupt property developer in John Sayles’s ensemble drama City of Hope (1991), the ivory-haired mobster Johnny Roselli in Oliver Stone’s Nixon (1995), and yet another intimidating gangster in The Juror (1996), with Demi Moore and Alec Baldwin.
Like Robert De Niro, for whom he was sometimes mistaken, it seemed there was nowhere left to go but comedy after playing so many crooks. Having parodied himself at the very start of his film career, Lo Bianco did so again in Mafia! (1998), also known as Jane Austen’s Mafia!, a send-up from some of the team behind the Airplane! and Naked Gun spoof series.
Though he directed to acclaim on stage, he made only one film, the slasher movie Too Scared to Scream (1984). His final picture was Somewhere in Queens (2022), starring and directed by Ray Romano, in which Lo Bianco played the main character’s standoffish father.
He is survived by his third wife, Alyse (nee Muldoon), a writer, whom he married in 2015, two daughters, Yummy and Nina, from his first marriage, to the actor Dora Landey (Anna, a third daughter from that marriage, died in 2006), a brother, John, and six grandchildren. Both his previous marriages – the second was to Elizabeth Natwick – ended in divorce.

The evolution of elves and their characteristics
Originally, all humans had brown eyes. Around 10,000 years ago, a genetic mutation affecting one gene turned off the ability to produce enough melanin to colour eyes brown causing blue eyes. Since blue eyes have survived throughout many generations, researchers think there may have been some evolutionary benefit, though the exact reason is unknown.
At some point in time humans continued evolving further into elves and the mutation that caused blue eyes was the first sign. Since they still looked like humans and didn’t have abilities, they continued to have kids with humans (which over time caused blue eyed humans). However, as the elves started to have kids with each other, they evolved further. Slowly they began prolonging their life span, bit by bit, before reaching “immortality” a few hundred years later. In the meantime, the first signs of body temperature regulation and darkness vision made an appearance, and, with time, the rest of the skills that have to do with survival (breath control & appetite suppression) were fully developed as well.
Skills were developed before abilities, at least the ones that are slightly more “natural” as skills aren’t as complex and were helpful for surviving in the early stages of evolution. Blinking was the last skill to develop. Telekinesis, levitation, brain push and outward channelling came before it. With telekinesis their minds become stronger, allowing brain pushes to evolve and levitating to be introduced due to the ability of being able to use telekinesis to lift yourself. With brain push and telekinesis fully developed outwards channelling was eventually able to form. I think that blinking evolved from light leaping which was developing alongside their skills.
People with blue or light eyes tend to be more sensitive to light. This is because blue eyes, especially light blue eyes, have less pigment in the iris, making them more translucent. This can cause blue-eyed people to be more susceptible to glare and sunlight, leading to light sensitivity. I think this is why it's easier for eleves to light leap than humans, their eyes are more sensitive to light, due to thousands of years of developing specific melanin in it. This makes their bodies able to break down easier and is also why Sophie struggled when practising light leaping with Grady in book one, her eyes aren’t as sensitive to light due to the amount of melatonin in her irises.
When light leaping was first discovered an elf was resting under a beam of light that had been refracted by a giant salt crystal and faded away. At the time nobody knew what happened and were simply confused. This happened more frequently as their eyes continued to develop since the percentage of blue allele increased due to the lack of brown eyes. If the elves would sleep on a rocky beach or linger too long in a geode cave the light would take them away.
The first elf to survive a light leap did so by realising that his particles were leaving him and used his telekinesis to pull them back, holding himself together. He eventually found himself fully reformed and alive, and when the other elves found him—surprised he wasn’t dead by this mysterious sickness that kept appearing—he explained what had happened.
They began to experiment with light leaping, coming to the realisation that it a) takes you from point A to point b and that b) depending on how the light shines through the crystal, it takes you to different places (prompting the creation of leaping crystals). All of this (as I said previously) helped blinking to be created from which vanishing eventually sparked.
The order of which I think the abilties were created are as following:
Shade - I think that this was the first to develop due to darkness vision being introduced so early on. It was the only ability to develop whilst their skills were however it wasn’t seen as an ability until others started showing. The elves just assumed that some people were better with shadows due to more practice with darkness vision.
Element based abilities (froster, pyrokinetics ect.) - Elves weee pretty close with nature in early stages of devlopment which helped create element based abilities along with the help of their skills. Telekinesis was beneficial due to the way it could manipulate the elements and was able to draw the elements to the elves. Pyrokinetics was brought to light by the help of telekinesis (same reason) and body temperature regulation. (Technically Shade is an element based ability but it was developed way earlier so I gave it its own category.) Frosters were developed later when the elves discovered snowy biomes, elves with hydrokinetics learned how to manipulate the water in snow.
Inflicting (maybe slight tw(?) a bit unsettling) - Inflicting sparked from brain pushes and outwards channeling, and it consisted of being able to concentrate a large amount of your mental energy on a living being and inflict pain using outward channelling. At first inflicting was (even more) brutal, it consisted of keeping someone in a constant state of almost exploding using outwards channeling, causing actual physical pain instead of an illusion as it does now. Inflicting was further developed when telepathy was introduced, making the pain completely physiological instead of physical.
Polygot
Empathy
Mesmerising
Vanishing - Seen first in elves who could blink over longer periods of time, was typically found in an elf with lighter blue eyes due to their eyes being more sensitive to light than ones with dark blue but grew to be found in all shades of blue with time.
Phasing - Around the same time as vanishers, while they couldn’t disappear for long periods of time, blinking and telekinesis helped phasers be better at letting their particles fade while remain in control of them, causing them to be able to phase through objects.
Flashers - Another element based one which was developed separate from the others. Was first introduced after light leaping with the help of vanishing. Instead of letting the light pass through their body flashers we’re able to “trap it” and manipulate it.
Telepathy - A little later on due to the sheer complexity, was actually a genetic mutation in which telekinesis was altered so that instead of moving things with only your mind, you were now able to hear things with only your mind.
Vociferators
Beguiling
Conjuring
Technopathy
Enhancing
Descrying - given
Teleporting - given
If any of these don’t make sense/you want a more in depth description then send me an ask. I didn’t write reasons for some of them bc they were either quite repetitive or to complicated and probably need a post dedicated just for them on their own.
An important thing to note is that the laws of genetics state that eye colour is inherited as follows:
If both parents have blue eyes, the children will have blue eyes.
The brown eye form of the eye colour gene (also known as allele) is dominant, whereas the blue eye allele is recessive.
If both parents have brown eyes yet carry the allele for blue eyes, a quarter of the children will have blue eyes, and three quarters will have brown eyes.
Also: If a child that is born to two blue-eyed parents doesn’t have blue eyes, then the blue-eyed father is not the biological father.

🚨 Jurassic world sick fic is done. It’s not perfect but I think it’s good if you like short stories with action and vomiting… hehe..
Requested by @jurassicsickfics
Authors note: I don’t own any of these characters, I love Jurassic park/ world. This was just for fun. Pls let me know what yall think but also pls no hate
Claire had a long day ahead of her. The biggest thing she has today is a meeting with InGen, their new project was almost ready to go on exhibit at Jurassic world. They wanted to “up the wow factor” so they created the Indominus Rex. A lab created dinosaur, bigger than a T-Rex. Modified with other genes like velociraptor which gave it the ability to communicate with that species . The special part of this dinosaur was that it could camouflage due to the cuddlefish genes. Claire never liked the idea of a dinosaur being so advanced so she asked Owen Grady to come and check the stability of the cage. Owen was the head raptor trainer. He raised and trained velociraptors. His team consisted of Blue, the alpha, echo, charlie and delta. Claire trusted Owen and his judgement. After the meeting she had other stuff to do.
Claire quickly made herself a cup of coffee as she drove to the park. Realizing she forgot to eat she found a granola bar wedged between her seat and her console. Without thinking she opened up the wrapper and ate the half stale bar. Shrugging off the odd taste she figured it was just a bit old since it’s hot where the park is situated. She quickly gets set up at her office and grabs the necessary paperwork she needs for the meeting. Her stomach growls angrily and nausea creeps up into her throat. She takes a swig of water to swallow the nausea down. She did not have time to get sick. She had so much to do before the indominus gets put out for public display. She takes a deep breath to calm herself and her nerves. She fixes her skirt and quickly but calmly heads towards the inclosure that contains the Indominus. When Claire gets into the room with massive floor to ceiling windows she sees Owen talking to her assistant Tara. They both look at her,
“Morning Claire.” Owen says.
“Morning ma’am” Tara follows suit.
“Morning guys, Owen have you had time to look at the inclosure? Tara what time are the representatives coming in?”
“Well the walls seem tall enough to contain such a beast, what security measures do you have?” Owen says as he looks at the enclosure.
“They should be here in ten minutes ma’am.” Tara responds.
“50,000 volts on the top, a tracker implanted into the Indominus.. we also..* Claire suddenly stops as she feels her stomach suddenly cramp harshly. She swallows thickly trying to not throw up on the floor.
“Claire are you feeling ok?” Owen asks as he steps forward.
“I’m fine Owen, just a bit tired.”
“You look green, are you sure you’re ok?” Owen once again asked.
“Drop it Owen, I’m fine.” She snaps at Owen, to raises his hands in defense.
“Sorry just trying to help, where’s the beast now?” Owen asks.
“Says he’s in the far north east corner.” She replies while pulling up the tracker. She winces as the nausea continues to creep up.
Suddenly InGen files into the room. Claire shakes of the nausea and puts on her business face. She manages to get through the meeting. However as soon as they are gone,
“I’ll be right back.” She quickly says and walks with purpose out and then when she’s sure no one is around she rushes to the bathroom and bends over the bowl. She feels the hot rush of vomit flowing up her throat but then.. nothing. Nothing happens. She feels so nauseous but nothing happens. Then when she’s least expecting it it comes launching out, projectilng onto the back of the toilet bowl before she can lean completely into the bowl. She gasps and gags at the sheer force that her stomach is contracting. She stays, hunched over violently vomiting when she hears a knock on the door.
“Ma’am, we have a problem, Owen needs you.”
“I..I’ll be right there!” She calls, taking a few deep breaths satisfied her stomach has calmed down she cleans up washes her mouth and goes to find Owen.
“What’s wrong Owen?”
“ um, were these claw marks there before?” Owen asks as he peers to the wall to see deep, 5 feet long gouges in the wall.
“D..did she try to climb out?” Asks someone else.
“Says that she’s still in the inclosure.” (She/he idk what gender the Dino is so it’s probably gonna change cause I don’t have energy to fix it)
“I’m gonna go check it out.” Owen walks out and shortly later Owen is seen in the inclosure with another Jurassic world worker. As they examine the walls, they realize that they aren’t alone. Suddenly a tree rustles.
“Run! She’s in there with you!!” Claire yells over the intercom and watches as Owen and the other worker scrambles for safety just as the giant white dinosaurs bounds out snapping its jaws towards them. Them make it through the gate but it didn’t close in time and they watch as the Indominus breaks through the enclosure.
Feeling sick Claire quickly finds a trashcan and proceeds to throw up again. Her assistant, notices.
“Are you ok?!” She asks
“I’m fine, where Owen?”
Meanwhile Owen climbs under a car as his fellow worker tries to hide in front of a vehicle but is no match. Owen shuts his eyes as he watches his co-worker get gobbled up. Owen quickly and quietly rips the gas line off the car and drenches his body in it to hopefully hide his scent. He watches as the bloody teeth get next to the car and the Dino sniffs and then walks off. He waits then rolls out and runs to find Claire.
“Claire! The Indominus has escaped! We need.. Claire! What the heck!” Owen says and then stops when he sees her throwing up violently into a trash, with her assistant next to her, rubbing her back.”
“I’m.. *throws up* fine*gag* we need to.. shut down.. t..the park… w..we don’t know what’s.. in this Dino…” she paused and then suddenly lurches forward as a big wave of sick pours through her lips and into the transcan.
“She’s been sick for at least three minutes.” Says the assistant.
“She needs medical.” Owen responds immediately.
“I..it’s just food poisoning… ate.. old.. granola bar…” she barely gets out before she’s dry heaving and spitting bile out.
He was torn… care for Claire or go save his raptors and stop this monster that was created.
“Don’t care, your dehydrated and we need you ok cause we are about to be in a life and death situation now that the Indominus has escaped, and I need to get back to the girls cause InGen wants to equip my raptors to hunt this Dino and I really don’t want them to. It’s too dangerous and unpredictable. “ Owen says as he calls over his radio.
Suddenly paramedics and a gurney rush in.
They take Claire away while Owen follows to provide protection.

Why are elves the way they are? What is the evolutionary benefit to going vegetative because something violent happened or you were really sad?
Is Shannon expecting me to believe no elves in the really really old times had to be violent or felt sad or guilty?
My guess is that it's not an adaptation itself, but is tied to another trait that provides enough of a fitness advantage to make up for it. Maybe it's caused by the same genes that cause their high intelligence, for example.
Alternatively: When elves sunk Atlantis and separated from humans, the boundary between elf and human may have been a little bit blurred. How do you tell who's a human and who's an elf when the groups have been living amongst one another and maybe even breeding with one another for so long? When you're living in conditions where a lot of people die before they reach old age, it can be pretty hard to distinguish between the two, especially if the elves aren't being trained to use their skills and abilities.
And the point was mainly to get away from the more violent ruthless people anyways, so it would make sense to leave behind the elves with violent tendencies.
So the elven population after the split may have naturally ended up being mostly comprised of people who weren't as violent, even if there were initially some elves with violent tendencies. And if that aversion to violence could be inherited, and if elves who ended up committing violent acts were banished, over time, that aversion to violence might greatly increase in prevalence among the population.
I've also noticed a correlation between power and tendency towards aggression. Pyrokinetics like Brant and Fintan, mesmers like Grady, telepaths like Gethen and Sophie. People with rare or desirable abilities (or people descended from them, like the Vacker children) seem a lot more likely to commit violent acts or join rebel groups than others. This fits with my theory, since the powerful elves with strong abilities (like Bronte and Fintan) or other important skills (like Vespera and her light tricks) would likely have been brought along regardless of their level of aggression.
So less natural selection based on who gets killed, and more natural selection based on who is accepted by others, perhaps.

Raptor Girl (Jurassic World)
Third P. POV
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Grady family was growing. First there was the parents, Owen and Claire. Then, there was Maisie, their adopted daughter, who was 16. Then Rose, their actual daughter, who'd inherited her mother's freckles and her father's blonde hair. Then Blue, a Velociraptor, and her daughter, Beta. that was it, as far as now.
Nothing ever really seemed...off about Rose. Nothing major, like a health issue, or a mental issue. Nothing physical, either, but from some hidden gene, she was able to talk to Blue and Beta, and when I say talk, I mean talk. She was one of them, because she spoke like one of them--even though she said human words, the Raptor pair understood her like she was a Raptor, too.
Claire and Owen have tried for many years to figure out what made her able to communicate with Blue and beta. Finally, Henry Wu admitted to something: when Claire was hurt, he'd put her under to fix her. But, due to a request from some higher-ups ,he'd placed a half-human, half-raptor child in her, as well. Owen was beyond pissed, and he had taken the situation at hand, basically sending Wu to the hospital, but there was nothing they could do, and Claire and Owen refused to give her up just because of what she was or how she came to be.
Her nickname was Raptor Girl. That's the name Ian Malcolm gave her, anyways, and it stuck. the only other thing she'd really respond to was her name. She spent most of her time outside, talking to the Raptors and running around with them. She didn't have their speed, but she had their eyesight, their senses, and their intelligent minds. Owen was proud of the daughter he'd been raising.
In turn, Maisie bragged about her sister, how she was really smart, but she never said anything, out of safety, about Rose's animal-talks. She knew that if someone were to hear, they would steal Rose in a heartbeat, and they'd never see her again.
Late one night, Rose was curled up in bed, Owen reading her a story, when she placed her small hand on the book, pushed it down, and said, "Papa?" "Yeah, hon?" He asked. His eyes were itchy from tiredness, but he swore to finish the book. They were almost done, and---
"Is Blue dying?" He blinked. If anything, that's not what he expected her to say. "Um...why do you ask, baby?" He shifted, getting more comfy, and Rose said, "She told me she's getting old. Does that mean she's gonna die?" She whispered, playing with the fringe on her blanket. Owen wasn't sure how to reply, so he kept it basic. "Yeah, she will, eventually. Nobody lives forever, honey. But even if she does go, she's always gonna be with us, remember?" "In our hearts and soul," Rose said, a teaching of her father. Owen smiled. "That's right. Let's finish this, okay?" "Okay, Papa." At the end, she was already asleep, so he tucked her in, turning off her light. "Night, Raptor Girl," he whispered, shutting her door. When he got to his and Claire's room, she frowned at the sad look on her husband's face. "What's wrong?" "she said Blue told her that..." He shook his head. "Blue said she was getting old. I think she's dying, hon, and I'm really scared right now." He sat on the bed, and Claire shut her book, carefully laying on Owen. "I'm so scared. She's always been with me, Claire. What am I gonna do without her?" He bit his lip, frowning deeply, and she sighed, moving closer. Her hand dipped under the collar of his shirt, rubbing idle circles on his chest. "You'll live. You know no one lives forever, you taught Rose that. But even if she's gone, she'll be with us, and we can take care of Beta if we have to." Owen chuckled. "Yeah...goodnight, hon." She smiled, already half-asleep. "Goodnight, Owen."

I have always had a hard time maintaining my weight. I would easily gain weight and it felt virtually impossible to lose even a single pound. That all changed when I started following the carnivore diet in 2015 - while my energy levels increased, other issues such as joint pain and brain fog emerged. It was then that I discovered my MTHFR A1298C gene defect, which is related to methylation and detoxification problems. After further research, I began to take B-Vitamins as recommended by Dr. Elizabeth Grady, although she noted that this was not something that needed to be taken for life - just until my body balanced itself out again. Sure enough, after taking the vitamins for an extended period of time the scale started shifting downwards, inches were lost and the brain fog and oxalate dumping stopped! My health has been quite a journey but now it seems like the mystery is being resolved - thanks to the MTHFR gene defect being identified and appropriate treatment given it's now easier than ever before for me to reach a healthy balance both mentally and physically. #mthfrmutation #mthfr #mthfrexperts #biomeiq #health #healthy #guthealth #healthygut #wellness #mthfrgenemutation #mthfrawareness #mthfrliving #mthfrwarrior #mthfrmutation #mthfreating #mthfrsupport #mthfrc677t #mthfrdetox #mthfrhealing #mthfra1298c #mthfrgene  #vitamind #vitamins #sunlight #immunesystem #immunology #dopamine #mood #hormones #bvitamins #enduranceathlete

Indie 5-0 with Grant Green Jr.
Tumblr media
Growing up, Grant Green Jr. heard a constant flow of music from his Grandfather, John Green. Playing recordings of Grant Green being a proud father, the younger Green heard guitar playing all the time, the first instrument Jr. learned was the harmonica at the age of five. He would watch and listen to an old blues player walk down the alley playing the harmonica and ask his Grandfather to buy him one. His Grandfather bought him a C harmonica and soon he was playing what he heard the blues Musician playing.
His watch party, where fans can watch his An Empty Room performance and interact with Grant Green Jr. will air on Sunday December 4th on Volume.com here.
We got a chance to speak with Grant Green Jr. in this edition of Indie 5-0, so without further ado, let’s dive in:
Did your father teach you guitar?
No my father never taught me anything on guitar, He wanted me to be a doctor or a Lawyer, I learned by watching him and mimicking what I saw him doing, My father never took me seriously until he heard me playing with his keyboard player, I used to rehearse some of the new members of his band because I knew my father’s songs and one day I started to play a song I wrote with his keyboard player and my father came down the stairs and asked who’s song is that, and the keyboard player said that’s your son’s song and from that point on he took me seriously!
I played with Organist greats Groove Holmes, Jimmy McGriff, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Melvin Rhyne, Gene Ludwig.
Drummer great’s Max Roach, Jimmy Cobb, Bernard Purdie, Clyde Stubblefield, Grady Tate, and Cindy Blackmon.
Saxophonists Lou Donaldson and Bobby Watson.
Singers Leon Thomas, Col Bruce Hampton, and so on.
If you could perform with anyone you haven’t yet performed with, who would it be and why?
If I could perform with someone one would be Sting! I have always loved his music because there was always this jazz element in his later work that was very melodic, I am a jazz musician, that loves all types of music and also Burt Bacharach because he is the king of modern melodic music and a huge catalog of music!
What’s the best part of being part of Masters of Groove? How did you all get the group started?
The greatest thing about playing with the Masters of Groove was playing with these musical legends! Organist Reuben Wilson was on the Blue Note label with my father in the sixties and my father recorded on his love bug album in 1969 so it was a honor playing with him and Bernard Purdie is the world’s most recorded drummer, he has played with everyone from Aretha Franklin to Steely Dan, there was so much history there and I learned a lot playing with them and being around them!
Reuben recorded on one of my records Jungle Strut that I did for a Japanese record company in the late 90’s when I lived in NY so about a year later I got a call to do a recording session and later that week I was sent the music and was the music from Dr. No, the James Bond movie and recorded the album. The Masters of Groove meets Dr. No and the album got critical acclaim! And that’s how the band started.
What’s your favorite song to perform and why?
Well I have many but I guess It’s Just my Imagination by the Temptations as a kid I always loved them and I lived in Detroit when I was a teenager my favorite Temptation was Eddie Kendricks and one day I was going to St Louis from Detroit where I was born and I ran into Eddie Kendricks and he was a wonderful human being! I sat with him and he bought me lunch, I will never forget that! And he was also the lead singer on Just my Imagination, I remember singing it at a concert in Spain and the coolest thing happened everyone speaks Spanish in Spain but everyone sang the chorus in English, I thought that was the coolest thing ever!
What are you most excited about for your Empty Room performance?
It’s a small band no keyboards no percussion and a lot of improvisation so we can stretch out more and be more creative interacting with people online It’s something different for me and also challenging for me because I don’t have have the other instruments Just bass and drums to tell a story!
