✎ you’re not her. ft. zhongli x fem!reader content. heavy angst, hanahaki disease, hurt/no comfort, mentions of blood & gagging (almost vomit), death, ‘unrequited’ love. w.c. tba.
you should have been her — part two.
oh that man, that gorgeous, benevolent man you’d fell in love with all those moons ago; with dark hair that fades into a glowing orange, resemblant of the sunset and his own geo vision. you had fell in love, yes - you thought he had too. the thought crosses your mind whenever he’s not by your side, not within your grasp like he usually is. typically, the man was serving his job at the wangsheng funeral parlour as a consultant.
you grimace when the tight feeling in your ribcage suffocates you. it’s getting stronger as time goes on, knocking the breath right out of your lungs and leaving you hacking up blood into a white handkerchief. zhongli had expressed no ends of concern about the situation when he’d find the bloodied handkerchiefs scattered around your shared home, ushering you to doctor baizhu as soon as possible.
you had begged baizhu not to utter a word of your condition to zhongli. he returned your pleads with a sorrowful look.
how could your love be so unrequited? had you been the only one true to your word this whole time? the mere thought stings at your eyes, tears threatening to spill as you shakily wash the dishes. zhongli isn’t home, not for a few more hours. he said he had business to attend to - that meant it wasn’t work related. was he cheating? you shake the sour thought away from your head, scowling.
you wonder if the oh-so-wise man could ever read the wrinkles appearing on your skin, aging you with every passing concern that you don’t voice aloud, with every day that goes by where you’re suffocating from the inside out. he never mentions it, perhaps he simply does not care. you feel the knot in your throat, sickening as you gag and splutter into the soapy water of the sink. you keep gagging, the knot doesn’t budge and you’re filled with an overwhelming sense of nausea.
your body grows tired. you slip down to your knees, banging elbows and other limp limbs against kitchen cabinets as you go down. finally, with one last cough, the knot exits your mouth. it falls to the wood floorboards beneath you, slimy and covered in blood but undoubtedly recognised as a glaze lily. its petals are shut, you understand that there is no music, no lullaby to be heard to lull the glaze lily to bloom. it’s an ancient flower, one you always used to admire before this curse laid upon you.
the front door to your house opens, keys jingling in a specific man’s gloved hands as he enters. you hurry to throw the glaze lily out of the kitchen window, submerging your hands in the sink once more as the metallic taste of blood and lingering aftermath of a floral tang swarms your mouth. you hold your breath, hoping you didn’t have the appearance of someone who had just coughed up a flower so violently.
a pair of strong arms wrap around your waist, suddenly you’re hit with the faint smell of aged wine and familiar scent of freshly dug earth. you smile at the thought, leaning back into his chest despite the pain tearing at your lungs and the burning sensation left behind in your throat.
“you’ve been coughing again—” zhongli’s voice reverberates close to your ear, hot breath fanning over your skin and your eyes raise from the dirty water to your reflection in the kitchen window, where zhongli’s warm amber eyes are staring at you so deeply.
“it’s okay, my love, i promise,” you lie through your teeth, hoping the man sincerely couldn’t read through you the way he used to, “this time it was a smaller amount than the last…”
you try to sound cheerful in your approach to the topic, careful to maintain that personality he’d apparently fell in love with one day in liyue harbour. zhongli makes a noise - is he doubting you? you watch as a gloved hand raises, nearing your face before his thumb wipes gently at a trickle of blood leading from the corner of your lips.
“i’ll speak to doctor baizhu in the morning,” zhongli states firmly, you almost bite back the words that taste bitter about him ‘caring’ for you, “perhaps you need a higher dose of your medication.”
the medication in question surely had been a ruse to fool the man, though you did not expect it to have worked. changsheng had uttered that you could not leave the bubu pharmacy without some form of medication, it’d look absurd in the eyes of the wangsheng funeral parlour consultant. in agreement, baizhu had qiqi mix violetgrass powder with sugar - the instructions were simple, mix it into the hot tea you’d drink with zhongli every evening.
it was sweet, not at all bitter and the scent of violetgrass made it bearable. apparently the inclusion of herbal properties was enough to fool your dearest partner or so you thought.
it’s hard to understand the fine line between a lie and a truth when the past few months, you’d been dating a man for someone whomst he was not. it was a struggle to understand the situation but it kept you up for endless nights, counting stars and tending to the numerous flora you’d planted in the garden underneath the moonlight - courtesy of your friend the traveler for appearing with so many countless seeds of blooms from across teyvat.
yet as you sit on the grass, staring at the pile of dead - and dying - glaze lilies you had acquired, the stars twinkling endlessly above you, you understood why he’d done it. he was judicious, hoping to protect you from his past yet keep you as his future. the thought made that pain in your chest tighten. you let out a futile whimper into the quiet night.
as you ponder zhongli’s status as liyue’s archon - the geo archon of all people, you begin to question your previous doubts. your breaths become struggled, your chest heaving as you lay on your back for some relief. trembling fingertips brush amongst blades of grass, hoping for a distraction as tears spill down your cheeks.
liyue is a beautiful country with vast mountains and yellowed plains that seem to stretch endlessly. its civilisation had become fruitful at the expense of liyue harbor, bustling with trade and the thing your partner had appeared to love the most; contracts. he has every right to be proud of the nation liyue had built to this day, despite claiming that he’d ultimately retired - “the people can do without me, they’ve proved that much.”
blood trickles from your mouth but it’s not gentle, it’s a rush, like a waterfall as it spills down the sides of your face and pools on the grass below you. it’s littered in an array of blue and white petals, matching that of glaze lilies - a flower you’d grown to hate. you struggle to get oxygen into your lungs with the rising level of blood that doesn’t dissipate from your parted lips, suffocating you as you try to no ends to breathe through your nose.
that is, if there was room in your lungs for such oxygen. twists and turns of branches and roots that climb to the walls of your organs, painting them with glaze lilies and filling them with fallen petals every time a flower wilts from the unreasonable conditions inside your body.
you’re proud of liyue; the magnificent, beautiful nation of geo that you got to experience in all of its glory. zhongli often times referred to liyue with feminine pronouns and as the light dies from your eyes and your chest ceases to rise, you can only think one thing with your last dying breath.
you’re not her.

homunculi trained and puppets abandoned
Spending years wandering Inazuma while watching the neglect of the god that created you destroy the land is not a pleasant existence. He considers joining the Watatsumi army solely out of revenge - they’ve clashed with the Shogun many times over the years - but decides instead to leave Inazuma.
He declines an offer of membership with the Fatui - they hold no purpose for him, and he would never willingly work with Dottore - and spends more years wandering before he arrives on Dragonspine. Where he’s nearly killed by a cave-in - which he swears is the mountain doing it on purpose out of spite - and only barely saved by… someone. His last thought before unconsciousness is seeing a sunburst of Geo stopping a rock headed for his face.
He wakes up in another cave higher up on the mountain. Out of instinct, he tries to leave the cave, but is stopped by an offhand voice saying “Durin’s influence can’t reach here.”
Scara turns around, looking for the source of the voice. He finds someone hunched over an alchemy bench, doing something intently. Whoever it is seals the alchemy bench with a burst of Geo, then stands up and turns around to see Scara.
“You’re awake,” the alchemist says, followed quickly by “Who are you?”
He pauses for a second. “Call me Scara,” he says eventually. It’s what the Doctor called him in some in-joke he never understood. But it’s one of the two names he has, and most people outside of Inazuma can’t pronounce Kunikuzushi properly. “And you?”
“I’m Albedo,” answers the alchemist. Then he continues the questions. “Have you ever had any contact with either the Abyss Order or Khaenri’ah?”
“No, why?” is the answer.
“I’m trying to determine why Durin holds a grudge against you. He isn’t normally so aggressive. Have you ever had dealings with the Fatui? I know it’s unlikely, but I -”
“Unfortunately I have,” Scara answers, cutting Albedo off.
“That would do it,” Albedo concludes. “Add it to the fact that you’re an artificial life-form and he thinks you’re too dangerous to leave lying around.”
“How did you know I was created?” asks Scara suspiciously.
“First, you survived that rockfall. Even with my intervention, no mortal could have survived that. But more importantly, your breath doesn’t fog in the cold.”
Scara curses under his breath. He knew he’d forgotten something arriving here - although how much good it would do when he first encountered Albedo while unconscious, he doesn’t know. He takes a deep breath in, holds it for a few seconds, then exhales a massive cloud of fog.
“You mean like this?” he asks, his breath now acting as a person’s. Then he starts. “Neither does yours.”
Albedo raises an eyebrow. “Apparently your creator made you to blend in with humans,” he says, then immediately regrets it.
“I was made to stand above them,” Scara snaps. “Not that it matters what I was made for.”
Albedo tries to recover. “Maybe you were meant to appear human so that humans will follow you?”
Scara appears somewhat pacified at that. “Maybe…” he allows. “The Shogun is stupid enough to believe that people follow those like him and not just power.”
After an awkward pause, he asks “So who made you, and why?”
Albedo sighs, then answers. “I was made by Rhinedottir - you may know her as Gold. As to why… I’m not entirely sure. I may simply be a proof-of-concept, artificial life with the ability to think for itself. Perhaps I was to be the first artificial life to create life myself - I find this to be most likely, given how she trained me.”
“Did she succeed at teaching you?” Scara asks. He means “can you create artificial life,” and Albedo knows it.
“Teaching me, perhaps. Unfortunately, soon after the Cataclysm, the Art of Khemia - our way of creating life, although it appears that it’s not the only one - was greatly weakened. Even Rhinedottir could only create no more than a few rats.”
“How soon after the Cataclysm?” Scara asks.
“A slow decline that stopped about ten years later,” Albedo answers. “Before you can ask - I had the same question - you weren’t created with Khemia, something I didn’t think was possible until I met you.”
“Even you don’t know how I was created. Of course,” Scara huffs.
Albedo pauses, lost in thought. “I have a suspicion,” he says after a moment.
“And what would that be?” asks Scara, his eyes narrowing.
“That you aren’t truly alive,” Albedo says, quite matter-of-factly.
“What do you mean by that?” Scara asks, surprisingly not angrily.
Albedo sighs. “That you were only meant to be controlled, to not live independently. From what I suspect, that was only mostly a failure - in this case, a failure you should be grateful for.”
“What do you mean by mostly?” asks Scara suspiciously.
“I suspect that there are certain directives within you that you must follow. The obvious one would be to not attack your creator, but there may be others. Given time, I can probably find out what they are…” He trails off at the look on Scara’s face.
“Before I left Inazuma, I considered joining the Watatsumi Army. I didn’t. I’ve reconsidered that decision hundreds of times, always wondering why I didn’t. And now this… it’s plausible.” He throws up his hands. “What am I supposed to do with that?” he exclaims.
“That, I can’t answer,” says Albedo.
Scara pauses for a second. “Will you kill the Shogun for me?”
Albedo starts. “I don’t have that kind of power,” he answers.
“Of course you don’t,” Scara says. “But I could ask you.”
Albedo nods. “Which doesn’t stop you indirectly plotting her death… Interesting. That is not an oversight I would have expected. In which case, why couldn’t you join Watatsumi?”
“They were already opposed to the Shogun,” Scara says.
Albedo nods. “Of course.”
Scara begins excitedly muttering to himself. Something about the Fatui is all that Albedo can hear.
“How do I get off this mountain if it’s trying to kill me?” he asks eventually.
“I’ll come with you,” Albedo answers. “Durin is… well, it’s complicated, but he won’t risk killing me.”
“I see,” says Scara.
As Albedo watches Scara leave from the foot of the mountain, he’s met with a strange sense of sadness. What did the Shogun do to him that inspired such desire for revenge? And more so, what led him to seek revenge rather than simply living well? Was he simply created that way?

I don't think pirating is particularly wrong; My money spend for subscriptions clearly does not go to the writers etc. However, I've been watching Doctor Who and grown very tired of the glitching and lagging sites, so much that I was willing to pay for a streaming service. Legal and virtuous and all that. But because of geo-blocking, there is literally no streaming service where I could watch it. It's not on Disney+, HBO, Netflix, Britbox, Prime Video... iPlayer only works if you're in UK. Even Google Play doesn't allow me to buy it for the outrageous price of twenty-something dollars per season. They don't sell it on DVD locally anywhere, I even took a look at the Facebook market places... Guess I am unable to act as is holy, virtuous and right, it's a pirate's life for me then.

Never did he imagine a trip to Liyue, in all honesty. What with the status of the Geo Archon's Gnosis covered, they had no more need to remain in that nation aside from the random Fatuus to watch over things, and the Northland Bank. But with the news delivered to them by scouts who managed to sneak into the Chasm that there were...familiar ruins and figures found lurking within, the Jester himself decreed that there should be an official investigation, and elected him as the leader for that mission. Capitano supposes it was due to his...relative normalcy among the higher-up Harbingers, but it was probably because the Doctor and the Damselette were too preoccupied to leave Snezhnaya. So he embarked to the Nation of Contracts, making an agreement with the Geo Archon himself to investigate the strange objects found within the Chasm. Now, he stood before the gaping hole in the earth, staring down from the heights of Cinnabar Cliff, when he noticed a...peculiar figure looking down into the Chasm as well. Pink hair, horns, a tail...some kind of vishap?

"...Quite the sight, isn't it?" He murmurs, hardly bothered by their presence.

Its like a reward
Notes from the crypt: surprise, another Childe post! This one is pretty smut heavy so if it doesnt get attention I will cry, its like 4am so I'll be cross posting this on ao3 later x_x
Tags: GN!Vampire!Reader, sub!Childe, fingering (male receiving), blood sucking
Summary: you take care of your sick harbinger, which leads to something hot and heavy
Tumblr media
Childe sneezes loudly, no doubt hard enough to wrack his entire body while he shivered in the layers of blankets you had him wrapped in. It was a rare occurrence that the harbinger gets sick, though not impossible given that the current 11th was sitting in your bed fighting a cold. You were in the kitchen preparing him a mug of tea using the medicinal herbs you acquired from Doctor Baizhu, as Childe had given you quite the scare last night when he was suddenly at your door during a downpour. He was bloody and freezing, enough to rival your own sickly cold skin while you rushed him inside, peeling off the layers of his soaked clothes to leave a wet trail leading to the bathroom, where you prepared him a warm bath to bring his temperature back up. You spent the rest of the night with him there, stitching his deeper wounds closed while he tells you of the fights he just finished, a sick prideful smile on his face. You acknowledge his every victory, you knew he was a formidable fighter that can hold his own yet you still cant fight the surge of worry when he seeks you out to patch him up. To see his skin littered with so many wounds while he's happily boasting like he just hit the jackpot was a little unsettling, but much like your relationship with him, its a two way street. You've had your fair share of seeking him out for his blood when you've pushed yourself too far, often too caught up in commissions or helping the traveler during their adventures in Liyue. While sunlight isnt exactly the best for you, you've managed to find ways to be able to safely travel the lands even when the sun's at its highest peak. During your thousands of years of undead living, you've learned that adequately covering up skin at risk to exposure helps a lot, so that was your main method alongside using the shadows to get from place to place, it wasnt until you've gained and nursed a budding friendship with the former geo archon that he finally gave you a long time solution to your issues; a rare sunstone that was in possession of the adepti. It was a gift for your many years of companionship with Rex Lapis, who placed immense trust in you after you placed your own life in his hands and fought by his side during the archon war. His gift ironically gave you new life, as you were able to freely step outside without worrying about burning to a crisp, yet some habits die hard since you still often leave your abode covered head to toe.
A pitiful whine of your name broke your reminiscing, and with a smile growing on your face you brought the cup of tea to your sickly lover. "Its still a little hot, so be careful", you coo at him, handing him the still steaming cup that he gratefully takes and blows on. You watch him, finding it cute that his nose and cheeks are flushed red from his sickness yet his skin looks pale in comparison, just a few hours ago he was boasting and bragging about his kills yet now he's overpowered by a cold, gingerly sipping on tea that was still a little too hot for his tongue, given the hiss he just let out. You take the cup from him, setting it aside before leaning over him, tilting his chin up so you could attempt to press your lips against his. Attempt being the key word as when you leaned closer, he pressed his hands to your mouth, brows furrowing. "Nuh-uh, no way am I letting you kiss me and catch this nasty cold", he sounds nasally and congested, from the proximity you can see the thin sheen of sweat on his forehead. Deadpanned, you remove his hands from your mouth before you grip his chin a little tighter, piercing eyes rendering him stunned in your hold. "Im dead, Ajax. Your mortal illnesses will not affect a body that has no beating heart", you notice the way he flinches when you mention you're dead, its a grim reminder that even though you are standing before him breathing like a living being should, its really just for show. He learned to ignore how cold your skin is, how you never really needed to eat human food but still did because it made him comfortable, just as how breathing let him know you were still with him, even if your heart no longer beats. It was a habit you picked up early in your relationship, one evening you were dozing off with Childe after an intense cuddling session and the poor thing ended up with a nightmare, so when he jolted awake to see that you werent breathing he assumed the worst, you ended up being startled awake by his shaking and yelling. You can still remember the tears in his eyes when he realizes that you werent actually dead dead, and made a mental promise to act a little more lively for him.
"Well, still... I'm gross", he sniffled as if to emphasize his point, cheeks flushing even more when you chuckled, thumb rubbing against his bottom lip. The small gesture made his jaw slack, and you took the opportunity to pounce, lips crashing against the hydro allogene's to slip your tongue into his mouth. He moaned against you, hands gripping the bottom of your shirt while you take his breath away, tongues sliding against each other that makes the harbinger melt. Even your tongue was cold, which brought little solice to the burn his tongue sustained from the herbal tea, the beverage slowly cooling on your bedside table while you coaxed him into a laying position, hands making quick work of pulling the blankets apart to expose him to you. You pull away briefly, allowing him a moment to breath since his sinuses were currently clogged but your lips quickly found their place on his neck, placing open mouth kisses that has him shivering underneath you. Its hard to tell whether its from desire, from being cold or just from being sick but the way he tilts his head to give you more access is a reassuring sign that he's eating up what you're dishing out. In a sort of animalistic way you run your fangs along his neck and his pants grow heavier, his grip finding your biceps to hold on in anticipation of whats to come next, or what he wants to come next. You chuckle low at the pathetic whine he breathes when you continue to kiss and nip at his skin, moving from his jugular to his collarbone after pulling his shirt collar to the side. "As far as you're concerned, you taste just fine", you murmur against his skin, feeling another shudder tear through him.
"The tea should be cool enough by now, drink it all okay?", you lift yourself suddenly from him, leaving him frozen. "H-Hey! You can't just leave me like this!", he yelps, sitting up and motioning to the very obvious erection he's sprouted. You shoot him an amused look, pushing the cup of lukewarm tea back into his hands before your fingers found their way into the back of his hair and you tug hard, pulling his head back so he's looking up at you. He gasps, you can hear the cup rattle against the saucer as he fights not to spill a drop, its a fight he's using all his strength to use even after you press a knee against his aching bulge, making him moan out loud just for you. "Only good boys who drink all of their medicine get rewarded, are you a good boy, Tartaglia?", you whisper in his ear, using your free hand to steady the cup thats dangerously close to spilling. Childe chokes back another moan when you press harder against him, adding pain to the pleasure that he's desperate for even in his weakened state. "I-I'm a good boy", he shakily breathes out, forcing himself to swallow a whine when you pull yourself away from him and pat his head lovingly.
"Good, now drink up", you run your fingers along his cheek, smirking when he nuzzles into your palm with a nod and got to work on drinking his medicine. Truth be told it was awful, no amount of qingxin or sweet flowers could mask the bitterness that were the herbs used to brew it, so you knew you needed a little incentive to get him to finish the whole cup. He scrunches his face as he drinks, tears pooling in the corners of his eyes and for a moment you felt guilty for making him drink such a concoction, but you cant go against doctor's orders. You keep a finger against the bottom of the cup, pushing lightly in hopes he'll just drink it faster and get it over with since he's giving you the most kicked puppy look you've ever seen. Just as he's about to finish the last drop he chokes, breaking out into a coughing fit that has you quickly setting the empty cup aside and patting his back reassuringly, whispering praises in his ear. You lay him back down after he recovers, pausing when he begins unbuttoning his shirt. "What are you doing?", you tilt your head curiously, eyes growing wide when he meets your gaze with a determined look in his blue orbs. "What's it look like? Im getting my reward", he flashes you a smirk, pulling his unbuttoned shirt apart to expose his chest before he gets to work on undoing his pants, expertly pulling them and his underwear off in record time. You couldn't help but laugh at his tenacity, spreading his legs so you could press your clothed hips against him and moving your head to his neck so you can resume pressing kisses to his hot skin. He's back to shivering with obvious desire, grinding his hips against yours while his hands find their way to your hair. You can never get enough of his whimpering or how he lays vulnerable before you, for a split second you get a feeling of deja-vu in how he fully trusts you with his life the same way you trusted yours to Rex Lapis. You wrap your fingers around his neglected cock, making him jolt beneath you with a broken moan, shocks of raw pleasure coursing through his veins. Lazily you move your wrist, pumping him slowly while directing all of your attention to his neck and chest, sucking on sweat coated skin to leave marks that are a stark contrast to his pale complexion, you made sure to leave plenty that couldnt be hidden by his shirt. He's a symphony of sin, crying your name like you're a god and he's but a lowly blasphemer who gave into temptation.
"P-Please..! Hah~ M-More", he bucks his hips into your grip, a mistake he soon learns he's made as he sobs out in desperation when you move your hand from his cock to his hip, pinning him in place. He can feel your growl against his neck, a warning that he knows better than to challenge while he sniffles and whispers out begging pleas to touch him more, he needs more please just touch him. In an effort to shut him up, you move your hand from his hip to his lips, pushing two digits into his pleading mouth to press against his tongue. His eyes flutter closed, hips obediently staying still while you thrust your fingers in his mouth, he can taste his own precum on you and it makes him lap it all up, thoroughly coating your fingers in his spit. His tongue follows your hand when you remove your fingers, a small trickle of drool rolling down his chin when you align your fingers against his twitching hole, teasing his rim just to hear him whine with a smirk on your face. He throws his head back with a groan when you push a finger in, eyes never leaving his face to gauge his reaction when you push a little deeper and curl, drinking up his addictive moans. You add the second finger in, curling and prodding at his soft insides to search for the spot that will make him no doubt scream, you know you're getting close when his back starts to arch and his hips begin to twist to help you find what you're looking for. "Ah! Fuck~ right there!", he cries out when you push against the bundle of nerves, his back arching beautifully while you finger him more roughly, pistoning against his sweet spot. His screams are like fine wine, delectable and intoxicating, it makes your fangs ache for a taste of him.
"Ajax... may I feed?" You pant against his ear, pressing kisses against his skin, unable to get enough of him. Childe could only nod, his voice too busy expressing the pleasure he's emersed in, the way you're splitting him open with just your fingers is making his head spin, he's drunk off you and yet he wants more. He screams out in a mix of pain and pleasure when you sink your fangs into his neck, barely getting a mouthful of blood before he's cumming, spasming underneath you while he coats his abs with white. You finger him through his orgasm until he's twitching and panting, whining softly as you pull out. Still latched onto his neck you're drinking from him slowly, his soft, raspy moans becoming louder when you grab onto his sensitive cock, twisting your wrist the way you knew he liked and rubbing your thumb along the head. "W-Wait — Ah! T-Too much", his eyes roll back against his head, overcome with the intensity of pleasure, he didnt even notice you had detached yourself from his neck until hes tasting the blood thats coating your tongue. The metal taste has him shuddering, pulling you closer so he can taste himself on you, his second orgasm hitting him harder than the first and he's crying out against your lips, tears rolling down his cheeks and white coating your hand. He's fighting against exhaustion, eyelids droopy and fingers lazily playing with your hair, you smile at how soft he looks before you gently pry him off and move to the bathroom to wet a rag, returning to clean up the cum and blood that sticks to his skin.
"Mmh... sleep with me", he mumbles, weakly grabbing your wrist to urge you into bed with him. You chuckle, pressing a kiss to the crown of his head and set the rag aside so you could clamber into bed beside him, a round of cuddles is in order. You wrap the blankets back around him, making sure he's nice and warm before you're hugging your newly blanketed Childe-burrito, singing praises in your velvety voice that has him falling asleep in minutes, you follow suit not long after, holding your beloved close. Childe will remember to return his reward to you as thanks for taking care of him.
Epitaph: You can also find this piece on AO3. I've been doing a lot more mobile posts, I find its easier that way. One of the major cons to it however is that I find myself writing into the early morning, which absolutely ruins my sleep schedule ahaha;; anyway, tumblr bls be nice to this post I worked real hard on it (;Д;)

↳ ❝Your eyes linger on the very lips of someone you claim to hate.❞⁣ -Unknown
You don’t even remember what you were angry about. Maybe it was because he left the seat up, didn’t walk the dog when it was his turn, or maybe it was the way he looked at you. Eyes staring you down a little too long, licking his lips watching you scurry around the kitchen with nothing but a nightgown and bonnet on.
Or maybe… It was you that you were angry at truly. Angry that your bestfriend and roommate no longer felt simply like a bestfriend and roommate. You don’t exactly remember when the lines blurred and the “no dating friends rule” seemed to get childish and impossible to follow, but one day, one day you saw Spencer Reid as someone more than the goofy genius you’d met in Caltech. Maybe, you’d always been in love with him. You no longer knew.
That day though, you and Spencer Reid weren’t on speaking terms. Started that morning in your shared apartment, he was being particularly bitchy as he had been since coming home from prison, and you? Oh, you could no longer take it, the fight boiled over and at some point, you both just said fuck it — You needed to get to work and you had no more fight left inside you. It wasn’t serious, but paired with unlocking your feelings and no longer being shrouded with denial, you couldn’t take it. The car ride was driven in complete silence.
“I got you coffee, take it or leave it”.
Your eyes rest on Spencer’s, tempted to be petty and tell him you’d leave it, but having only slept about 4 hours, you needed all the caffeine you can get, especially with the case in front of you. Your hand grabs onto the mug, briefly meeting Spencer’s, he raises an eyebrow when you seem to flinch away from him, splashing a bit of coffee on your skirt.
“Shit”.
“I’ll go get napkins. Drink. You look exhausted”.
“Gee thanks for telling me, Doctor”. You speak through gritted teeth, which he just let's roll off his back, leaving to get napkins.
You look at the mess, it was small, could be cleaned up quickly, only with the stress already piled, your eyes begin to water, only put off by Spencer’s return. He looks concerned.
“Hey, it’s just coffee. We’ll get this up”.
“Okay..”
“Spence, Y/nn, we’re ready”.
••[❦]•••[❦❦]••[❦]•••[❦❦]••[❦]•••[❦❦]••[❦]•••[❦❦]••
It’d been a day since you arrived for the case and the silent treatment certainly didn’t end with the coffee incident, no, you and Spencer were too alike for that to happen, too alike to let the stubborn game of cat and mouse go, it bleeds into your work and leaves the room with a lingering stench of tension and way too much pride. You sat in a chair angled just so you could see Reid, stood hunched over the desk, a map in front of him, hair in his face with eyes focused on the geo profile. You’re supposed to be working on a timeline but your eyes can’t keep wandering off your work and stalking the Doctor’s every move, bottom lip seated between your teeth, glances getting longer every time.
“Hey, Y/n. Can we get the timeline”? Emily interrupts your 6th or 7th staring contests with Reid’s arm veins, with cheeks maroon in embarrassment, you feel like an utter fool to be so wound up about a man during an important case. It reminds you of a schoolgirl crush, and with that in mind, you kick yourself in the ass for being so childish, looking to Garcia for help putting everything together.
“Do you like watching Doctor Who, Y/n”? Penelope asks with a shit-eating grin on her face, your cheeks grow even redder, glaring at the tech analyst, and hearing a snicker coming from JJ just behind you. You weren’t as subtle as you thought.
“Shut up”.
Reid glances up from his map in confusion with eyebrows furrowed, he looks at you like you’re insane, obliviously questioning your tastes, “What’s wrong with Doctor Who”?
“Nothing…” You mumble, slumping down in your seat and finally focusing on what you need to. Your cheeks still hadn’t returned to their original color.
“When you’re ready”. Hotch cuts through sternly, though his eyes reflected amusement, nothing was helping your heartbeat slow down, if you could swallow yourself whole you would sure as shit attempt it. Sitting up, you clear your throat and stand up, “Brianna Victoria, 16, was abducted on April 13th on Shelley Dr. Her body showed up the next day on April 14th on Denver Rd. where her bestfriend Tina Mei was then taken, showing up half-dressed and assaulted on Shelley Dr. the next day on April 15th. She’d told detectives she was supposed to die but her fighting aggravated her captor, he stabs her, then throws her out on Shelley Dr. as planned”.
“The killer goes silent for 2 weeks until Veronica Jordan is abducted on May 1st along with Stacey Leanne on Madison Street which is approximately 3 blocks away from Shelley Dr. and Denver Rd. and though Tina came out strong…” Garcia continues, pressing a button to crime scene photos of the most recent victims posed on Shelley Dr, “Veronica and Stacey were not as lucky”.
“And neither were our most recent abductees, Fiona Yvonne and Jackie Alejandra. Abducted only 6 hours ago”. You finish, a solemn silence falling over the room with the information laid out in front of them.
“Make that 4 dead and 2 alive, Jackie Alejandra was found wandering down Denver Road, Fiona’s body…”? Tara speaks through Rossi’s speakerphone.
“Shelley Dr”.
You guess, sighing knowingly, you knew you were correct. thinking over everything in your head, you look at Tara for an answer, “Was Alejandra assaulted”?
“Didn’t look to be, had a few scratches and what turned out to be Fiona’s blood”.
Spencer goes back to his desk upon hearing this, piquing your interest when he dives into a stack of case files and evidence as if those wheels in his big ole brain had started to turn and the case could be closed now. You walk over to him curiously, looking over his shoulder.
“Kid, what are you thinking”? Rossi speaks up.
“Didn’t Jackie know the other victims as well”? Spencer asks, but you know it’s rhetorical; he knows she knew the other victims. He’s sure of it.
••[❦]•••[❦❦]••[❦]•••[❦❦]••[❦]•••[❦❦]••[❦]•••[❦❦]••
“He said he loved me, We were gonna get married b-but then he told me Brianna loved him too, Tina too… They were both jealous of me. He only really loved me. I just lured them out there, nothing else…” Jackie’s eyes were distant as she spoke, traumatized and brainwashed by the very man she was supposed to be able to trust. Spencer sits on one side with you on the other, she could only look at you without shaking terribly so he kept out of eyesight.
“Who told you this Jackie? How did Tina, Brianna, and Fiona get in this”?
Her eyes water, spilling over with tears soon after. She grips the thin hospital blanket, clearly rerunning the memories over in her head like a constant film. She stares at you, it instead appears she’s staring right through you.
“He was so angry that day,” Jackie starts, southern accent thick and trembling on each word, “Brianna told me they’d been intimate, I confronted him and he told me she was a lying bitch, she’d come onto him. Told me we needed to get rid of her. So, I lured her to the farm to - to “study” Daddy always said Brianna was pretty, but he told me I was his only girl… His only true Princess”.
Your eyes widen slightly, looking at Reid whose already leaving to go call Hotch and the others while you gather more info.
“Brianna let it slip that Tina Mei knew about her and Papa and that she knew about me and Papa and was gonna tell the school. So, daddy told me to bring her out there too after he got rid of Brianna. She would make them take me away from him… He was angry that day too. Tina Mei didn’t wanna come but I convinced her by telling her what he told me to say…That I wanted to tell the school. He’d be out that day and we could run…He was even angrier when Tina Mei got away, I, um, I got the brunt of it. After that, I stopped bringing friends over”.
Your heart hurt for Jackie, she wasn’t anything other than a traumatized, trauma bonded victim herself. How a father could look at a daughter like that was beyond your comprehension.
“But Fiona… I made the mistake of not going to school one day. Fiona was a nice girl, I liked her a lot. She was one of my only friends after Brianna and Tina. Papa wasn’t worried bout Tina telling anything, she was scared of him and Y’all were focused on Tyler Lyon so he had plenty of time with his real princess. With me. T-till Fiona came over that day… I never get sick, I don’t know why I got sick”. She sniffles, looking away from you, out the hospital's window. You knew this was just to hide the tears, there wasn’t too much interesting about a hospital's roof.
Her voice breaks, and she finally lets the tears out.
“The second he saw her, he let her in, asked her if she’d like some tea. They were talking when I came in, Fiona has a pretty smile. She smiled at me, told me she brought my homework. Papa smiles his toothy grin at me… I nearly collapsed. He invited her for dinner, I hid under my bed like always. s-she was already unconscious by the time he was finished with her. Then h-he…”
“It’s okay, he can’t hurt you here, Jackie”.
She takes in a shaky breath and whimpers, “He loaded her body up in the truck. Took us to Shelley Dr. and left her there. When he was taking her out…I ran. Didn’t look back, just…I just ran”.
You stare pitifully at the girl, a baby. Not that much younger than your oldest little sister. After taking her statement, you go out to meet Reid, a lump in your chest staring into his eyes.
“That little girls been through so much… Let’s go get the bastard, Spencer”.
••[❦]•••[❦❦]••[❦]•••[❦❦]••[❦]•••[❦❦]••[❦]•••[❦❦]••
Viktor Alejandra was a nasty-looking thing, you were beaming when you finally brought the psychopath in, in the interrogation room the cocky bastard had pissed Spencer off when his eyes lingered too long on you, the fact he seemed to be getting off on making disrespectful and highly inappropriate comments towards you.
It all came to a head when Viktor made one last comment before you and Spencer were done questioning him, ready to send him to prison, but what he says, cannot be ignored.
“You would’ve been my favorite, Agent Y/ln. Would’ve took my time with you… Mm. If only you were younger”.
It all happened so fast, the second you turn around to respond to the disgusting creep, Spencer has him pressed against the wall and you have to pull the two apart, eyeing your partner just as Hotch enters the room. You shake your head at Spencer, “He’s going to prison, let him rot in his cell, Reid”.
Hotch’s disapproving eyes paired with your words seems to sober the Doctor, letting Alejandra go, he growls, “I’ll be there front and center when they put the needle in your arm, Alejandra”.
Your eyes widen in shock, taking your bestfriend out of the room in silence. When you’re out, he snatches his arm from yours and walks off; you feel like a guilty mess for what it does to you.
The ride home is also one spent in total silence for about 15 minutes, that is. You can’t deny how different Reid’d been acting since he’d gotten home from prison, and today proved it. He was defending you, you were aware, but this was also the man who’d told his crush 10 snail facts as a conversation starter. — Needless to say, the man you previously knew had definitely changed, and your body was fighting to decide if that was a good or bad thing.
“You didn’t have t-”
“I did”.
Instantly irritated, you turn to your roommmate and stare him down, eyes zeroing in on him determinated to get to the bottom of all of this. You were tired and genuinely missed your bestfriend, conflicted feelings aside.
“You’ve been different since prison, Reid”.
“We’ll talk about this inside, Y/n”.
His jaw clenches, eyeing you down with a stare so cold it’d sent shivers down your very spine, if you hadn’t known any better you’d think Reid had lost his mind. From experience you knew he was as serious as a heart attack. You despised when he got this way, always able to stop your frazzled ranting or prideful persistence, swallowing down your earlier words, you’re silenced with a glance.
Though effectively silenced, you hoped the doctor didn’t think this was over. Crossing your arms, you couldn’t be happier when the car stops and you’re finally home. Getting out of the car, you storm ahead of him, hearing him not too far behind calling after you, “Don’t wanna talk about it? Fine. Just fine”. You mumbled under your breath to yourself, struggling to fit the key into the lock. A hand is placed on top of yours, taking the key from your hand, Spencer unlocks the door.
“Now let’s talk”. He says as soon as you two cross the threshold, his voice is a little softer than before, however, you can’t bring yourself to listen, you liked seeing Spencer Reid sweat over you, the game would continue until you’re out of your pencil skirt and freshly showered.
“No”.
Your first mistake — Mindlessly grabbing a t-shirt from your closet, you slip it over your head without thinking consciously of the significance behind said shirt. The one that Spencer had personally taken off his back when you came home drenched from the rain, the one that soothed you with the scent of Spencer Reid. You stand in front of your full-length mirror, hair cut boyishly short that it gave you a sense of androgyny, it furthered your pixie-like features and feline akin eyes; You smile at yourself, trying to force the tension of tonight away, only; it was time to make your second mistake.
You head downstairs. The clock reads 12:39 A.M. You really shouldn’t be drinking tea so late, but the day was long and you didn’t think you could sleep with the awkwardness between you and Reid still sticking to the air around you, persistently.
You’re stood next to the stove when he comes in, hair damp from his own shower, rocking a Caltech hoodie and a pair of grey sweats. When you don’t acknowledge his presence, he’s already walking closer, stalking towards you with no doubt the conversation you’d long since abandoned on exhaustion alone. You’re sure that’s what he wants, but then he opens his mouth and the next words to come out startle you worse than the whistling of the tea kettle.
He’s burning a hole through your skull when he asks, hand reaching out to touch your wrist and catch your attention, “How long have you been in love with me”?
Turning off the stove, you slowly turn to face the male, searching to find the second head he’d grown, your heart is beating too quickly, your eyes shifting trying to avoid the question and ask your own; you surely hadn’t heard the man right. The man who’d been your bestfriend since college, the man who’d told you JJ was the only woman he’d ever loved.
“What”?
“You’ve never been hard of hearing, Y/n. Answer me”.
There’s that stare again, it’d been haunting your very days and long, long nights. You can feel your knees turning into jelly as your mind scrambles to look for an answer, one that satisfies him without exposing you, his stare doesn’t falter waiting for you to speak, glancing at the clock for a moment, he looks back to you expectantly.
It all tumbles out before you have a chance to stop it, “six years”.
Spencer is getting closer, towered over you with his scent clouding your every sense, it’s there that you drift into a headspace that puts you directly into his hands, his stare contrasts your dazed, confused one, instead his features are scrunched into a dangerous hateful glare, “You just can’t help it, it’s unavoidable”.
With no idea of what he means, you go to speak but no words seem to come out. This was a profiler’s bread and butter, he stares right through you like an open book, examining you, he steps into your very psyche with ease, lifting you onto the counter, the cryptic words he spoke becoming clearer with the next.
“Relax your face, you’re a profiler”.
••[❦]•••[❦❦]••[❦]•••[❦❦]••[❦]•••[❦❦]••[❦]•••[❦❦]••
“Relax your face, you’re a profiler”.
Those were his next words to me, I wish I could say I mustered up the courage to give a snappy remark back, but the Doctor’s hold on me was like no other, I was never the shy type until he’d come into my life. Used to swear up and down that I didn’t have a crush on him in any way, only to blush profusely keeping eye contact with his hazel browns. He’s a breath away now, I can feel his body heat radiating off of his skin and onto mine, a gentle kiss away. I feel a finger rest beneath my chin and now I’m staring directly into the good doctors' eyes, watching an impossible dream seemingly come true before me. It feels cliche but just perfectly so when his body is pressed against mine thumb swiping over my bottom lip, my left-hand wraps around his wrist, and I don’t miss the way his eyes darken before he leans down to my height and our lips meet.
We’d been friends for 12 years. For so long the urges have stayed shrouded with denial and fear of rejection; my brain drifts to nothingness when I allow his tongue to slip into my willing mouth, my legs nearly buckling underneath me — He keeps his hold on my waist tight, bottom lip tugging at mine, the kiss no longer the tender loving it’d started as; Right now, the room reeks of carnal desire, he pulls away only for a second and I can see it in his eyes. The same relief I’d felt, it had finally all come together, the kiss the last piece to our once forgotten puzzle; his hands come up underneath my thighs, lifting me onto the island with ease, he never breaks eye contact albeit lifting me as if it were nothing.
The silence is broken by a question I’d never thought I would be asking him, “How long have you been in love with me, Doctor”?
It’s then that I recognize the stare, it’d seemed incomprehensible until now, he’s studying me, hesitant of his next words, and that’s when the emotion in his eyes becomes unmistakably clear, “Can I show you”?
“Take the lead, Sir”.
For a moment, it’s as if he hates my being. The glare he holds so disgustingly angry my back hits the cabinet trying to back away. This was my Spencer Reid and yet I felt I knew nothing about him the longer this went on, he hoists me onto my shoulder, I feel a harsh smack to my ass and chuckle sounds through the kitchen as we, well, he walks away to his bedroom. My third and final mistake was thinking it was over. Thinking his anger and mine had dissipated; simply, it’d been delayed, getting into the darkness of the Doctor’s room is when I realize his plan, stood against the cold of the wall watching him grab something unseen from the dresser.
“9 years. Now that I’ve answered your question, you answer mine”.
“W-what do you wanna know”?
There’s a silver glint I see in his hand, unbuttoning his dress shirt with the other, freckled ivory skin peeking from beneath. Every part of him exposes more art, and I’ve become excellent at examining every detail down to the letter, the very reason we stood in this room rooted in my (not so subtle) admiration. My stomach drops into my ass when he turns around finally, holding up a pair of silver handcuffs engraved with “Spencer’s Property” on the sides. His smirk broadens when I turn bright red, “The pretty boy, hm? Never too good with speaking to women”?
My ears ring with the beating of my heart and the thudding of his shoes on the wood floors, the squeak I hear let out I’m not sure is my own, I’d never done so before. What is it now? Midnight? Did I leave the oven on? Lose my keys? Maybe I needed to che— The horror movie genre lacked the Good Doctor’s impeccable timing, too busy finding excuses and ways to escape before I’m putty in his hands; I don’t see him in front of me nor do I feel the handcuffs until they click.
With his lips near my ears, I feel him pressed against my thigh, and it’s way too late now. I know I’m all his. I’m okay with being all. his.
“We’re going to work on your poker face, Agent. Our whole team is aware that you love Doctor Who”.
My eyes widen, like a kid caught sneaking sweets before dinner, a deer in headlights. I knew I wasn’t the most subtle, 2 years of acting classes gone to waste, I suppose.
“That question I had…” Spencer, or whoever this movie villain in his place was began to speak, his eyes darker than before shrouded with an air of danger. “Why do you wish to piss me off so much”? he asks, head tilted to the side; before I can even open my mouth, he’s speaking again.
“Don’t answer that, rhetorical. I know you like it, I saw it this morning and I saw it when I almost strangled Viktor…You love the aggression, don’t you? Well… Now, I’ll give it to you and I’ll enjoy every fucking second of it because you love to push my buttons. Safeword”.
“P-pear”.
“On the bed. I want your face blank, and so help me if I see any reaction, I’ll be carrying you into the jet. Understood”?
I don’t like how speechless he’s gotten me, I want to fight, push his buttons more but in turn…All that comes out is a weakly uttered, “Understood, Doctor”.
••[❦]•••[❦❦]••[❦]•••[❦❦]••[❦]•••[❦❦]••[❦]•••[❦❦]••
“You look beautiful in my clothes, god…”
Spencer wears only his boxers, adoring the way your needing eyes follow him, whimpers becoming impatient as he prolongs the inevitable as if only to tease and punish you. Climbing into bed, he shakes his head at your growing impatience and sighs, “Crawl to me, on my lap”.
“What is this…”?
He has no time for your questions, without warning you’re pulled into his lap with his dick pressed against your clothed cunt, which is slid to the side with ease — His eyes bore into yours knowingly, you’re almost embarrassed by the stare he gives, ashamed of how wet you already were, your mouth falls open when he slides his cock up your slit, collecting the grool from your arousal. You feel a harsh slap to your thigh, squealing into his neck; He takes the distraction to fully sink into you, your moan gains you a new slap to your thigh, Spencer hisses out —
“No. Fucking. Reactions. This is a lesson, Bunny”.
Whispering a soft “Yeah…y-yeah”, you’re not sure what the Doctors' game is, you want to follow his instructions, to obey; He, intentionally, made that harder. Just when you thought you’d finally mastered a poker face, he’d unexpectedly thrust up, your face would contort, or you’d moan, squeal, whimper, he’d slap your thigh…You’d go again.
This time, however, you’re determined not to let him win. His hands are busy groping you beneath the shirt you wore, toying with you like you were nothing more than a sex doll for his entertainment; he’s quiet, calculating, and in your opinion? A raging asshole, all in the best way. He’s barely said a word, content with exploring your body in silence; You’d think. He quickly reminds you why he’s the smartest on the team, pumping into you wildly, a hand wrapped around your throat, eyes daring you to make a noise or show any reaction.
You’re thinking of it as holding your breath underwater or trying not to blink. It gets boring fast, the obedience does. You’re not obedient. You don’t want to be; letting go, you look the Doctor right in the eye, the room suddenly lively with the noise of skin slapping together, your moans, and the grunts and groans of Doctor Reid. A perfect cacophony of chaos that ends with you pinned underneath him, his hips thrusting into your inviting cunt even rougher, sweats dripping from his forehead, you know you’ve made him angrier, and that in itself is enough to get you closer to the brink of insanity.
“You don’t listen, Brat. It’s like you exist to piss me off”.
Clenched around his cock with a vice-like grip, you pull him into the warmth of your walls and trap him there, watching his eyebrows knit together, hips stuttering when he feels you, “Do I? Or is it just that you’re exactly like me? Getting all hot and bothered when you see me angry”.
Let’s toe the line, Reid’d been changing anyway, you decided you wanted to know just how much. Your eyes fight with his, neither daring to look away with heated glares, synced moans are the only thing to cut through the tension building in the room like a misty sauna, it swirls around the two of you; entangled limbs and sweat. This felt right, this felt like it’d been needed, a mistake the universe was just starting to fix. Your lips clash, a battle of dominance ensues; The aggression radiating off of Spencer is pure and unadulterated.
Feral.
“You talk too much, Agent. It’s time to fix that. Suck”.
His thumb forces it’s way between your lips, feeling your orgasm approaching, your newest goal becomes the Doctor’s pleasure, entertainment. You put on your best performance, drool dribbling down to your chin suckling on the digit, you revel in the fantasies that come with, cunt clenching around him just thinking about choking on his dick, and not his thumb.
That’s what sends you over the edge, a red hot blinding edge. A strangled moan of his name is released, taking his thumb from your mouth he moves it to your clit, his pounding only becoming more brutal, passionate. He’s breathing hard, focused and determined and with the overstimulation, you cry harder.
There’s nothing more arousing than your cries of pleasure to Spencer Reid, he could listen to them on repeat, he could watch you fall apart on repeat. Oh, that excited him. Locked on his target, the pace he sets is quick but controlled, hips rolling into you smoothly, you can hear your cum mixing with his precum. It’s disgusting, filthy, and it’s all too much — You love it.
“You got one more for me, yeah? One more”.
With a hand wrapped around your throat, Spencer throws his head back, “O-one more”.
“C-cum with me, Spencer”.
The sound of his full name dripping from your lips…
You feel every rope of cum that pours into you, your moans once again meeting for one last duet.
It’s only after the crescendo that you realize the two of you’d been screaming each other's names. The moment calmer, you let out an unintentional giggle at the timing, watching Spencer unsheath himself from inside you; his cum drops down your thigh, the perfect time for a giggle-filled question, “D-did we both just”?
“Yes we did”. Reid lies beside you, his own laughter tripping him up.
“You know we still have so much to talk about, right”?
Pulling you into his arms, Reid presses a kiss to your forehead and smiles, reveling in the moment before he’d finally get up and get the two of you cleaned up.
“Yes, we do”.

𝐃𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐞 Part 1
This was supposed to be Zhongli but I like The Doctor more AND HIS MODEL IS OUT. You can clearly see I have a type. This’ll be split into two parts.
How I imagine Dottore during his Akademiya days with a hint of unrequited love Spoilers ahead!
Warning(s): One-sided love, romantic undertones, mentions of death and abuse, character death(not u), blood and gore if you squint. Word Count: 1k
Part 2
Tumblr media
The circumstances in which brought you into contact with him for the first time were strange to say the least. You were studying at Sumeru’s Akademiya, or more specifically, running through the halls went you got caught up in an overload explosion. You, being two years his senior, expected an heartfelt apology but instead got a dismissive attitude and an underhanded comment on your lack of focus.
It didn’t end there sadly, as the program which helped student from other cities adapt to Sumeru’s environment(the very one in which brought you from Inazuma to Sumeru), paired you and him together. Normally, they’d attempt to pair students up from similar backgrounds but no one wanted him and the only one left without a junior was you. How fun.
“Excuse me-?!“ You puffed out, thankful you had a geo shield active from your last experiment. That minimalized the damage but still didn’t fix the limpness you felt in your leg. The mint haired junior came stepping out, muttering something to himself about another failure.
“You’re excused. Move along unless you want to help clean up or become the next test. Perhaps looking where your running might help prevent this in the future.“ He slammed the doors shut, sending a cloud of smoke billowing in your face. Thank goodness some other, better mannered students came to your aid. They were also glad to help you file a report on him while the nurse assisted you. Turns out plenty of them had issues with this fellow.
Zandik, as you came to know him by, was unpopular among the student body. The more you hung around him the more unsavory rumors made their way to you by word of mouth. Many of them were of an angry mob which chased him from his home since he was caught experimenting on the locals. He was brash, cold, and even sadistic at times but you couldn’t imagine him going that far. Or rather you hoped he wouldn’t and looked the other way upon discovering his red flags.
The two of you sat across from each other with an uncomfortably awkward silence settling itself between you. Your eyes wandered to the other students from Inazuma enjoying getting to know each other while you were stuck with the same disrespectful junior who sent you to the Nurse’s office without so much as an ‘are you okay?’. He was more focused on whatever it was he was recently tinkering with at the moment which made you shift nervously in case it blew up again. “Senior (L/N)?” You both looked up to the group of students who came up, looking at you with concern and him with poorly hidden disdain.
“We noticed you didn’t get paired with anyone from the motherland. You could join us if you wanted, we were about to work on letters back to our families since one of us can sneak them in.” You smiled, there was only about 16 of them in total. Which was much smaller compared to the groups from other nations. Inazuma’s lockdown had hit the youth hardest, many who managed to sneak out may never see their families again. You moved to get up but hesitated. He would’ve been all alone, though that didn’t seem to bother him as he scoffed at you and continued to work. You forced up a smile and sat back down making him halt working for a moment. “Thank you but I’ve been paired already with my junior here. Please let me know how the letters go when they arrive.” You watched them leave with a pained expression when a soft cough brought your attention back to the rude underclassmen before you with his arms folded.
“You never told me you were from Inazuma.” You smiled, was this an attempt at socialization? “You never asked, Junior.”
“Zandik. My names Zandik.”
“So your mother is from Fontaine and your father is from Sumeru. Does that mean you can speak the language of Fontaine?“ You asked as your feet dangled from the experimental table you always sat on in his private lab, leaning on your arm for balance. He scoffed as he swirled the vial in his hand, the liquid swirling from lime green to blue. He had a plethora of expressions, as you’d come to witness. He hardly ever smiled, even with his affinity for you as he liked to call it. It was his way of saying he enjoyed your company. “Yes, I can. If you must know. Just as you speak the native language of Inazuma.” He turned and stopped when he saw you on his exam table. His expression warped briefly to something you hadn’t seen before before he gestured for you to get down, making you groan.
“What if I don’t want to?“ He made a noise akin only to a growl before he pushed you down by the shoulder into the cool steel. He was much stronger than you expected, or maybe it was because he caught you off-guard. Either way, he was towering above you with a glare. “Get. Up. Lest you wish to be my next experiment. Ne me teste pas.“
Your brain felt fuzzy when you left for your classes that day. Every moment you weren’t focused on something your mind wandered to the image of him above you, holding you down easily. His voice bounced around your brain, making your heart flutter in your chest. Your cheeks would immediately flush and your train of thought was gone. You rubbed your face as you erased and rewrote your notes for the 13th time today. It was this day you began to see him as a little more than just your junior.
It wasn’t long before your duo turned into a trio, another underclassmen inviting themselves to his lab and becoming quite fond of Zandik, just as you came to terms with your emotions and your attachment to him. She was sweet, though always with her nose stuck in her journal.

Beginning of Act Two: The Sun, The Moon, and The Truth
No One’s Pov
“I can’t believe them!” Ajax all but slammed the door as he and his partner walked into his apartment.
After the battle with Aether and his team, the pair retreated to Northland Bank, paying a visit to the healer they kept on sight for the soldiers. At first, Aster was unsure of their safety in the bank, but Childe assured her that even if the Geo Archon didn’t reveal himself, the traveler and the Adepti would be able to handle Osial.
When they were fully healed, a grunt delivered the news of The Eighth Harbinger's arrival. They went to greet her in the lobby but were taken aback by her guest. What really caught them off guard was the Gnosis that Zhongli held out to La Signora.
Although Aster couldn't show her shock or annoyance, Childe was free to let his anger show on his face. It was then that he figured out who Zhongli really was, and the anger that fueled him seeped into his voice when he demanded an explanation. Signora only scoffed, her laugh belittling her fellow Harbingers as she explained how they were merely a part of a contract formed by the Geo and Cryo Archons.
“A contract to end all contracts,” Zhongli told them. He wanted them to summon Osial to see if his Adepti could protect Liyue without him. Of course, all of this was part of their plan. Aster shared her partner’s anger; this wasn’t the first time she felt manipulated into doing someone else's dirty work like a puppet. She only felt sorry that Childe had to experience it too.
Now, the pair sat at the table in Ajax’s apartment, Nadine resting her head on the table while Ajax vented about being lied to and manipulated by not only their own people but someone he thought to call a friend.
“They lied to us. He lied to me.” Ajax gritted his teeth.
“Are you truly surprised? It's not as if the Tsaritsa actually cares about us. We’re just part of her plan to her.” Nadine sighed, sitting up to watch the man pace.
Ajax paused. Nadine knew better than to bring up the Tsaritsa to him. The Eleventh Harbinger was brought into the Fatui at a young age after his father handed him over. He believed that the military would install a discipline in his son to control the newly found bloodlust that seemingly came out of nowhere to his family and got a young Ajax into so much trouble in his hometown. Unfortunately for his father, the Fatui only encouraged this newfound thirst for battle.
Nadine and Ajax agreed on almost every topic except the Cryo Archon. He would defend her actions, making excuses for the terrible things she allowed, even if his logic didn’t make sense. It was as if he was blinded by his appreciation for taking him in, believing wholeheartedly that she was doing what was best. However, Nadine knew better. Someone who cared about their well-being wouldn't have allowed the things that happened to her by Dottore’s hand. If the Archon cared, The Doctor would never be able to lay a hand on her.
“Sorry…” Nadine whispered. “Forget I said that.”
Ajax didn’t say anything at first; he seemed lost in thought before he spoke again.
“I’ll be back. There’s something I need to take care of.” He started toward the door.
“Ajax…”
He ignored his friend as she called out for him, leaving her to sit at the dining table alone, flinching at the force he used to close the door.
“Nice one, Nadine….” She sighed, laying her aching head back on the table.
The cost of using her Delusion was higher for Nadine, which is why she only used it when absolutely necessary. When she puts on her mask, Nadine borrows some of Marzanna’s power, combining it with her Delusion of Pyro, making her flames cold instead of hot. As a result, she hands a portion of control over her body to the voice in her head, turning one of her eyes into the glowing pale blue color that she despised. This was also why when she designed her mask, she only left one of the eye holes open, covering the eye Marzanna could see through to ensure that she had to continue to rely on Nadine to do anything.
Luckily, after her mask fell from her face, she could keep her eye closed until they returned to the bank; and once she calmed her nerves enough, the blue in her eye gradually faded back to brown, allowing her to uncover it.
As the woman rested her head, Nadine’s thoughts traversed to the two men that fought against her with the traveler. The way they looked at her with so many different emotions filling their eyes pierced her chest harder than the Adeptus’ spear did. Not to mention, they knew her name. No one other than the Harbingers, The Tsaritsa, and Ajax knew her real name. Even then, Ajax was the only one who used it.
Nadine felt her already aching head pound harder as she thought about it. So she shook her head, forcing herself to deal with what all those things meant later. Nadine focused on her breathing as her head rested on the table, forcing herself to remain calm. Eventually, her breathing evened out as she drifted into an unrestful sleep.

Diluc’s POV – Four Years Ago
“...What?” I asked, pulling my head from my hands to look up at Kaeya.
It was today, on my eighteenth birthday, when our father died… when I had to end his life with my own hands to save him from the pain from his backfired Delusion. Now, Kaeya stood in front of me as we stood outside the winery. His words didn’t seem to make sense as he poured his heart out to me. I was used to Kaeya’s stories and jokes, but I couldn’t understand why he decided now was a good time to tell me one.
“If this is some kind of joke, I’ll tell you right now that today’s not the best for such things Kaeya.” I told him.
The rain that fell from the inky clouds in the sky already had little to no effect on me when I was alone, pondering everything that had happened in the day. Still, the rain felt numb against my skin as it seemed to wash away the lies of my brother, who admitted that it wasn’t a joke. That he truly was a spy from Khaenri’ah, left here by his father to join the knights as soon as he could hold a sword properly so when the day came when Khaenri’ah and Mondstadt went to war, they would already have an advantage.
Despite the chill in the air, I felt heat build up in my chest as his words became as numb to me as the rain. I could barely hear the nervous rambling that came from him as he waited for me to say something… anything. But my mind felt blank as I stared wide-eyed back at him. It wasn’t until he mentioned someone specific that the words finally returned to me.
“...I’m sorry. I never meant to hide this from any of you. Our father–”
“Don’t you talk about him! Don’t you dare talk of my father!” My hands clenched at my sides. “You– We… We were brothers! Are you telling me all that was fake?! Just one big lie?”
Kaeya’s lies were all it took to make a perfect storm of a day. First, my father gave his life to save me, to protect Mondstadt, and the Grand Master of the Knights of Favonious dared to try and get me to cover up his actions. It was then that I was able to see the knights for what they were, so I quit then and there, leaving my vision behind. Now, Kaeya was here to make it worse… telling me none of it mattered. Me, my sister, and father… all of us meant nothing to him.
“No, no, please!” Kaeya reached out to me. “You are my brother. Nadine is my sister–”
My claymore materialized in my hands before swinging it at him, narrowly missing him, instead making him fall back into the mud. His periwinkle eye widened, backing away from me while I screamed at him.
“Keep my sister’s name out of your filthy mouth! You’re no brother of ours! Stay away from Nadine!”
“D-Diluc– Please–”
Kaeya's pleas fell deaf on my ears as I swung my weapon over my shoulder, barely missing him each time he rolled to the side, dodging my attacks. The heat in my chest fueled my anger, only growing hotter with each word he spoke. Finally, just when one of my slashes was about to hit him, Kaeya blocked my attack that was about to connect with his chest.
Our weapons clashed, steel against steel pushed against each other as I pushed him further into the mud. He grunted and pleaded with me, struggling to force me away. The heat that drove me cleared from my vision when I saw his eye. Despite the rain, I could see the way tears built up, falling with the rain down his cheek.
“Do you think you have the right to cry?! Don’t you dare sit there and feel sorry for yourself! You did this! You don’t deserve the pity!” I screamed.
Kaeya yelled, pushing me off of him enough to send his foot into my gut. I stumbled, attempting to steady myself as Kaeya quickly got to his feet. Once I regained my balance, I faced Kaeya. His sword shook, preparing to defend himself once again.
“Diluc… please,” He begged. “I don’t want to fight you.”
Hesitation flashed in Kaeya’s eye before he lowered his weapon. The flames in my chest burned hotter when he dropped his blade into the mud.
“I will not fight you.”
How dare he. How dare he pretend to be the bigger person here. This was just another one of his lies. Another one of his illusions to get what he wanted. The heat in my chest blinded me once more, releasing a yell as I swung my blade at him again.
Everything happened so fast. Kaeya’s scream, an eyepatch left split in two in the mud, crimson washing away in the rain, and a familiar voice ringing in my ears as I lifted my weapon again. A chill filled the air this time when I brought down my blade, and instead of colliding with the small figure that put itself between Kaeya and me, my weapon clashed against a shield, the force sending me flying back.
It was then that the heat died down in my chest, the rain washing over me as my vision and the sounds around me began to become apparent. In the distance, a shimmering shield made of Cryo kept the rain from hitting Nadine, who stared at the barrier with disbelief. I believed it was her power for a moment, but when she spun on her heel, the bright glow in Kaeya’s hand told me otherwise. His weapon, which once laid on the ground, was gone, transformed into a gift from the Archons.
Nadine’s words of what I could assume was concern were muted by the barrier that separated me from them. My legs wobbled as I stood, forcing myself to walk toward the shield. My heart stilled at the image behind the shimmering shield. Nadine had torn a piece of her nightgown off, staining it red as she pressed it to Kaeya’s eye.
When she backed away from him, the shield shattered, ice melting into the rain and returning to the earth. As soon as Kaeya stood, I grabbed Nadine’s arm, pulling her behind me while glaring at Kaeya.
“Leave,” I said sternly.
“Diluc!” Nadine tried to push past me, but I kept her behind me with my arm.
“Leave before I change my mind.”
Kaeya’s periwinkle gaze fell on my sister, who continued to struggle behind me.
“It’s okay.” He told her.
Nadine cried as we watched Kaeya clutch his newly attained vision to his chest with one hand while holding the fabric to his eye with the other before turning from us. Only when I heard the fading sound of hooves against the mud did I let go of my sister. She pushed past me, facing me with fury in her eyes.
“Why?!” She screamed. “How could you attack your own brother?!”
“He’s not our brother, Nadi,” I told her.
“No, don’t you Nadi me! Why would you do that?”
Her expression twisted from anger to confusion as I began to tell her everything he admitted to me.
“...So you kicked him out because of that?”
“What do you mean; because of that? Didn’t you hear what I just said?”
“Oh, I heard you, and I think you’re being completely unreasonable! He’s your brother! He’s our family!” She shouted.
“He is not my brother! How am I the one being unreasonable here when you’re taking that liar’s side?!”
“First of all, he is your brother, whether you like it or not. Because he’s still my brother which makes him yours! And even if you don’t wanna see it that way, father was the one who adopted him! Not you! So you don’t have the right to pick and choose who his children are!” she clenched her fists at her side. “Second, how in the hell is it his fault that his father abandoned him here?! He was a child Diluc! Children don’t exactly have a say in the will of their parents!”
“Even if he didn’t then, he does now! He’s old enough to know right from wrong!”
“I guess we’ll never know because you kicked him out before we had the chance to see what he would do!”
The heat in my chest dulled slightly at her words. The silence that followed them only made me acutely aware of her shaking form. A mixture of the rain and her anger directed at me.
“...What the hell is that supposed to mean?” I asked.
Nadine sighed, slowly unclenching her fists and tearing her disappointed gaze away from me before speaking.
“He hadn’t betrayed us yet. Had he? And as far as I could tell, he came to you feeling guilty about something he couldn’t control. He hadn’t betrayed us or Mondstadt yet. If he was struggling to decide which side to choose when that day came, I guarantee you... you just chose for him.”
Tiny footsteps splashed through the puddles as another small figure rounded the corner of the house, hazel eyes locking on us before running over. Emily, the little girl my sister had taken in about a year ago, stood there with an umbrella and stared wide-eyed at the two of us.
“Nadi, Luc? Why are you fighting?”
“Hiya kiddo... Don’t worry. We’re not fighting. We were just talking.”
Nadine quickly moved under the umbrella before taking it from the girl and shielding them both from the rain. She smiled at the girl when Emily handed her a coat.
A year ago, Nadine brought Emily home, begging our father to let her stay here until her mother came back for her... Of course, my father being the man that he was, agreed. He told my sister that she would have to take care of her and search for her mother, and she did... only to find the reason Emily’s mother had left her hidden behind a tree was to redirect the Abyss Mages that were chasing them to follow her instead. Leading them away from her hidden child... she didn’t make it. Two days later, my sister came across the very malnourished child.
“You don’t sound like you’re talking... What happened to your jammies?” the six-year-old asked.
Nadine smoothed her nightgown, which was now torn at the bottom.
“It got caught on the grape vines, don’t worry.” She smiled softly before changing the topic. “Do you wanna go for a walk with me? I feel like visiting the town.”
At this, the little girl perked up. “Yes! But... It’s raining. Are we going to walk over there?”
“Exactly! Perfect time for a walk if you ask me.”
Without turning to look at me for permission, she took the girl’s hand and left. Leaving me alone in the rain.
My head ached from the lack of sleep as I stared into the fireplace in the sitting room. I waited all night for Nadine to return from her visit to Mondstadt, but she never did.
She must’ve stayed with Kaeya at the headquarters.
Though sleep deprivation clouded my mind, I was able to think clearly about everything that had happened the previous night. I could now remember distinctly how my blade connected with Kaeya’s face; his scream, which was muffled before by my blind rage, now echoed clearly in my mind. I struggled with how I felt. I couldn’t believe what I had done, nor could I believe that I had almost hurt Nadine in the process.
A knock on the front door drew me from my thoughts. Shaking my head, I stood, answering the door, only to be filled with annoyance at the knight on the other side.
“What?” I questioned the alchemist.
“Good morning Mr. Ragnvindr. I am here for painting lessons with Ms. Nadine.” Albedo said.
“Well, I hate to break it to you, but she isn’t here. If I had to guess she probably stayed at the Favonius headquarters last night.” I attempted to close the door, but the alchemist held the door.
“I’m afraid you are mistaken. She and Emily were there last night and had asked me to watch Emily for a while, but eventually, she came and got her and said she was headed home.”
Wait... What?
A gut-wrenching dread filled my stomach.
“...But she didn’t come home last night,” I informed the alchemist. “Let’s go find Kaeya... Maybe she’s with him...”
Arriving back in Mondstadt, we headed towards the statue to find Kaeya on one of his patrols. Another feeling mixed with the anxiety in my chest at the sight of him. He had a new eyepatch, which wouldn’t mean anything to anyone else, but I knew the truth. His old one was still in pieces amongst the dirt on the side of the house.
When Kaeya noticed us, he froze for a moment only to put on one of his charming smiles.
“Ah Diluc, Albedo... What can I do you for?”
“Have you seen Nadine?” I skipped right to the point.
Kaeya’s smile faded.
“...No. She came to see me last night but she left after we talked.”
“She didn’t come home last night.”
“And she stopped by to get Emily from me before saying she was heading home.” Albedo added.
I saw a flash of what could’ve been worry in his eye before being replaced with determination.
“Come on,” Kaeya began walking away quickly. “I know what route she takes when she walks home, we can start there.”
We walked the route that Kaeya knew Nadine took, looking for any sign of her. Both me and Kaeya did our best to walk as far away from each other as we could. I couldn’t stand to see him so soon after last night. Nor could I stop that strange feeling in my chest every time I looked at his new eyepatch.
“Kaeya... If I may. What is it that you said to her last night when she came to see you at the headquarters?” Albedo asked.
“Oh you know, just family things.” He dodged the question.
“I only ask because she was very... distressed when she came to me. So I thought maybe you had said something to upset her, and maybe she went somewhere after instead of heading home.”
Kaeya stayed quiet. I looked over at him and could’ve sworn I saw a look of guilt.
What did he say to her?
I didn’t have time to ponder it further as we passed the Valley of Remembrance, encountering a horrific scene. My legs carried me faster than I could think to the little girl who lay lifeless on the ground. My heart stilled when I reached her; blisters and burns covered her body and face.
“It’s Emily... She’s... dead...” My voice broke.
Kaeya’s eye widened, staring at the girl in my arms before Albedo walked toward me. His eyebrows furrowed before picking up something beside me.
“This… is the flower I gave to Nadine before she left… It was in her hair.”
We all looked at the dead flower, panic building up inside of me when I did. It was a windwheel aster, but the flower was blackened, burned to a crisp.
If Emily is dead and the same burns that covered her skin wilted the flower in Nadine’s hair… what happened to my little sister?
No One’s POV – Present Day
“We continued searching for days, not knowing if we were looking for Nadine... or her body... but we couldn’t find anything.” Finally, Diluc finished telling the group about his missing sister.
The group had barely returned to Wangsheng Funeral Parlor before being demanded an explanation why Diluc and Kaeya stopped him from killing the Harbingers. They left the brothers in the parlor while Aether sprinted to Northland Bank, discovering Zhongli’s contract with the Fatui. He also ran into Childe and Aster again, but before he could approach her, Aster left quickly while Childe followed close behind.
When Zhongli and Aether returned, the traveler had first taken the time to explain who the funeral consultant truly was. However, his words fell deaf upon Xiao’s ears as soon as they walked through the door. He recognized the Geo Archon immediately, or the former Geo Archon, as Aether informed them. Unfortunately, the Adeptus didn’t have time to process the feelings in his chest before Aether interrogated Kaeya and Diluc about Nadine.
The brothers informed everyone of what happened the day their father died. Of course, they left out the reason they fought, only telling the group that Nadine followed Kaeya because of it.
Aether listened intently to every word with an aching heart, understanding what it was like for your sibling to be taken, disappearing into thin air as if they had never existed. When Paimon noticed his hurt expression, she clung to his arm, comforting the traveler with a small squeeze.
Xiao and Zhongli listened with furrowed eyebrows as they told their story. The Adeptus in particular was unsure how to feel; he had seen the look in their eyes as they spoke about the sister they had presumed dead. However, he also remembered the empty look in her eyes the night he first met her… and that was before his fight with her in the Golden House.
“I had gone to the Knights to gather a search party for her,” Kaeya continued, fidgeting with his hands as he sat next to Diluc on the couch. “But Diluc refused at first, not wanting them to be involved. I eventually was able to convince him to let them help because the more eyes we had looking the better. The most we were able to find was a caravan that had been attacked. There were bodies of dead treasure hoarders around a prison wagon, but upon looking inside the wagon... there was nothing but empty shackles. And by looking at the bodies we could tell that they had been there for days.”
Kaeya finished their story, an uncharacteristically solemn look on his face as he avoided the group’s gazes. Diluc, on the other hand, had an empty look in his eyes as he stared at the far wall. The man hadn’t talked about his younger sister since the day she disappeared. Even after he left Mondstadt to search for his sister and answers about his father’s death, he only sent letters back home to Kaeya when he would write to him. He kept him informed about his progress with his father… and his lack of progress with Nadine. Diluc also made sure to remind Kaeya to take care of himself. Though, he’d never admit he was worried for his younger brother’s safety.
The group stared at the brothers, unsure of what to say. It couldn’t have been easy to lose their sister, coming to terms with her death only for her to come back years later as a Fatui Harbinger of all things.
Unfortunately for everyone, Paimon was the first to speak up as she removed herself from Aether’s arm.
“...So you lost your father, brother, sister, vision, and job all in one day? On your birthday?”
Aether snapped his gaze at Paimon, glaring at her.
“Yes, thank you for the recap Paimon.” Diluc glared at the floating food.
“Oh... Paimon’s sorry...” She shrunk down a bit, realizing her insensitive words.
Diluc was about to speak again when a knock on the room's doorframe caught their attention. Everyone’s expressions turned hostile as a familiar head of orange hair slowly stepped into the room with raised hands.
“Uh… Hi.” Childe greeted the group.
Anger flooded through Diluc, wasting no time shooting up from his spot next to Kaeya and charging the Harbinger. He grabbed Childe by the collar, swinging him around before slamming him against the wall.
“What the hell did you do to her?!” Diluc shouts, inches from the man’s face.
“If you would give me a moment to speak,” Childe raised his hands. “I came here to explain.”
“Bold of you to come here after nearly drowning Liyue.” Xiao walked towards the two, almost growling at the Harbinger.
“I’m not here as Tartaglia right now... Right now I’m here as Ajax... For Nadine...”
“Ajax?” Aether asked from his seat.
“Yes... That’s my real name... I figure if I want you to put any sort of trust in me I should in you as well.”
“I could care less about your name. Tell me what you did to Nadine!” Diluc continues to yell at the man.
“Diluc, let him go so he can talk.” Zhongli spoke up from his corner of the room.
Diluc hesitated, glaring at Childe. His fists clenched the man’s collar tighter before reluctantly releasing him. Crimson eyes stayed trained on him as he returned to his seat on the couch next to Kaeya.
Childe made a show of straightening his shirt before putting himself in front of the brothers.
“Okay... First I need to ask,” He looked at Diluc and Kaeya. “You two... How do you know Nadine? Did you... hurt her in any way?”
“What?” Diluc snapped. He had barely made contact with the couch to sit again before shooting straight back up. “Why in the hell would you think that? Do you think you’re in the position to be the one asking the questions!?”
Aether, Xiao, and Zhongli stayed on the side of the room, watching the interaction silently. Normally, Xiao wouldn’t have wasted any time before attacking the Harbinger again, but Zhongli seemed interested in what Childe, or Ajax, had to say. So he held himself back, waiting for permission from Zhongli to rid of the Harbinger if he crossed any lines.
“Yes,” Ajax’s voice dripped with a threatening tone. “I do. Because I want to take you to see her, but I’m not going to put her in harm’s way. So yes, I need you to answer the question, or else you’re not going anywhere near her!”
When he was speaking with Nadine back at his apartment, something had clicked in Ajax's head. The way Diluc knew Nadine’s name and how he panicked when he believed they had killed her made him realize that perhaps he and Nadine had assumed wrong about what their relationship with her was. So when Nadine mentioned the Tsaritsa and how she believed the Cryo Archon didn’t care for them, it reminded him of the worry in Diluc and Kaeya’s eyes when Xiao attempted to attack her again after her identity was revealed.
Kaeya furrowed his eyebrows, looking at Diluc to see if he would answer the Harbinger. The stern look on his features told him all he needed to know. Even if he didn’t trust the man, this was a chance to learn something about his missing sister; after four years of nothing, Kaeya would take anything. So, he turned his attention back to Ajax with an uncharacteristically serious expression.
“We’re... her brothers.”
“I’m her brother.” Diluc ‘corrected’ him.
“Not the time.” Kaeya spat back.
“Brothers?” Ajax took a deep breath as he took in the information.
Of course, he knew she had family, but here they were. He could try to get them to talk, maybe even regain some, if not all, her memories.
“Right... Okay... Brothers.” Ajax repeated. “I can take you to see her, but I need to warn you. She doesn’t remember you.”
“Yes, we gathered as much. The question is why, isn’t it?” Kaeya questioned him.
“I could tell you, but I warn you that it’s not pleasant to hear.”
“Tell us.” Diluc persisted, anxiety filling his chest.
“Alright...” the group listened intently. “I met Nadine about four years ago when I was still a grunt in the Fatui. Do you happen to know Il Dottore?”
Diluc and Kaeya gave each other a look. Reminded of the party, Diluc had hosted a while ago.
“Yes... Unfortunately.” Diluc responded. “Second of The Eleven, right? What does he have to do with my sister?”
“Well... He actually got pushed down the list after Nadine took his place. Now, he’s third. Regardless, if you know him you must know what he does, yes?” Ajax waited for them to nod before continuing. “Nadine was one of his... projects.”
The brother’s breaths hitched. They knew all too well about the human experiments The Doctor involved himself in. A year ago, the kids of Mondstadt had mysteriously disappeared after being handed over to the Fatui after being promised different things for their families if they served in their military. So, the image of their sister going through the same things made their stomachs churn.
“Even now, I don’t know what he did to her,” Ajax continued. “I’ve tried finding out, but I haven’t found anything. All we know is he... created something inside of her.”
“Created?” Zhongli interjected.
“I believe so. As I said, it’s a guess. Four years ago, there were three projects that Dottore devoted all of his time; all three of which revolved around visions. The three he experimented on were visionless before the experiments, but when he was done with them, all three of them walked away with one. The first was a woman named Phoenix. When Dottore was done with her, she had completely lost it. Her temper was through the roof, one look at her the wrong way and she would attack you without hesitation. She became obsessed with Dottore’s approval, which is why she hates Nadine so much. She thinks the Harbinger spot should be hers. She walked away with a Pyro vision. The second was a man named Badger. He was already a wild card before Dottore. I think he was some famous treasure hoarder or eremite? He was already violent, only becoming even more so after his experiments. He walked away with a Geo vision. The third…”
Ajax took a deep breath, preparing to tell the last of the three. Even he didn’t like thinking back to the time he met Nadine. The memory of her frail body didn’t sit well with him, but one look at the pleading look in Kaeya and Diluc’s eyes made him continue.
“was Nadine. Something must’ve gone right with her because she was the last of those particular experiments. Her experiments lasted the longest. Dottore always called her stubborn. I visited her almost every day, bringing her food and water... but eventually, he accomplished whatever he wanted to with her. The next time I snuck into the lab, she wasn’t there. I thought at first that he had finally taken his experiments too far, that he had finally killed her... but when I returned to the main floor, I passed her... walking alongside Dottore. Her hair was white, not brown, and her eyes glowed blue. She also had a Cryo vision that she turned into a necklace. He had just brought her to the Tsaritsa, and I guess she had passed the tests to become a Harbinger. I tried to approach her later but... it wasn’t... Nadine.” Ajax felt a chill down his spine at the memory.
“She knew who I was, but it wasn’t her. Since then, I’ve been trying to find out what he did, but I haven’t been able to. Finally, about a year ago, Nadine woke up, regaining control of her mind, but she couldn’t remember anything from before. Well, she said that she had vague memories, but they were all clouded over and jumbled. That’s why she didn’t know who you were either Aether.” He turned to the traveler, who listened with sadness in his eyes. “It wasn’t her who took the Anemo Archon’s Gnosis. Even though she blames herself for it anyway.” Ajax finished, leaving the room in silence.
Nothing but the crackling fire could be heard. Everyone’s thoughts raced, especially the brothers. Diluc couldn’t imagine the things Dottore had done to his sister. He hated to know that she was in pain for that long. Every single day. It was almost too much to bear. The tears pooled up in his eyes as he put his head in his hands. He had felt like it was his fault. He had angered her enough for her to leave that night. Not only that, but he had almost hurt her. All because he was blinded by rage. Would his father be disappointed in him if he could see them now? Seeing that he had driven his sister from their home only for her to be captured and tortured?
Kaeya only stared at the man in disbelief. He didn’t want to believe it. He wanted so badly for this to be some bad dream or a Fatui plot of some sort... but it wasn’t. It was true. His kind-hearted little sister, the sister who took in a little girl much like her father had done for him, the sister that still loved and accepted him even after learning of his origins. The last words he said to her were cruel, and she still treated him kindly. The idea that she had been tortured for so long killed him inside. He started blaming himself. Maybe if he made sure she stayed at the headquarters for the night when she visited him? Or perhaps if he had accepted her offer to return home with them? Maybe Emily would still be alive, and Nadine would be at home now, singing and playing music with Venti in the tavern like she used to.
Zhongli was the first to break the silence with a question of his own that had been stuck in his head for the past few days.
“If I may, I was curious of something. Does the phrase my dear mean something to her? I’m afraid I had called her that the other day when she joined me for tea... I seemed to have triggered something in her. She was quite shaken up.”
“Oh, that’s... that’s what Dottore calls her. Usually, she’s good at hiding it, but she must’ve let her guard down considering we aren’t in Snezhnaya. She probably wasn’t expecting it.” Ajax answered.
“I see...” Zhongli spoke, feeling slightly guilty.
“There’s still one thing I don’t get.” Finally, Xiao spoke up after being silent throughout the entire conversation.
“What?” Ajax glared at the Yaksha, not forgetting about the minor kidnapping incident.
“The dark aura that Zhongli and I can sense. What is it?”
“I’m not sure... Maybe she could answer that better than I could.” He returned his attention back to the brothers, who were still lost in their own heads.
“So... Would you like to see her now?”

Tumblr media
watched a video where it was ( jokingly ) pointed out that ZHONGLI actually KNEW who BAIZHU was & simply pretended to be dumb & not know who he was .
in the game, it is shown zhongli doesn’t know who baizhu was & asks him who he was despite being so well known across regions & among the adepti ( xiao knows of him ) & despite hu tao’s ( technically zhongli’s associate / boss ) has beef with him .
the reason why the video claims zhongli was playing dumb was DUE to the fact that the fatui were EVESDROPPING on the convo @ bubu pharmacy - & zhongli somehow knew this - & he played dumb to PROTECT baizhu .
essentially , the theory states that baizhu is the ex - dendro archon but in hiding .
while that honestly isn’t the truth ( it is only a theory ) i do believe that zhongli MAY had an inkling of knowing who baizhu was / is upon seeing him for the first time , HOWEVER , the reason for HIDING that is not because baizhu was an ex - archon , but for other reasons . those reasons are probably unknown but zhongli doesnt owe anybody anything . he doens’t need to tell anybody what he does or doesnt know - in other words , the knowledge that zhongli has doesnt always need to be given away .
so the theory that zhongli DOES know baizhu is really likely , but the theory behind WHY he knows him is most likely different than what other people would assume .
at least for me - there are many other reasons as to why zhongli would hide baizhu’s identity , especially from the eyes of the fatui .
Tumblr media
the reasons could range from the idea that baizhu HOLDS information that not even zhongli knows about - or that he holds information that not many mere mortals know about . maybe because of who & what baizhu is , zhongli doesnt want the fatui knowing . or maybe its the idea that baizhu would most likely be an interesting SPECIMEN for the fatui & simply does not want to put the liyuan native in any danger . especially since baizhu seems so BELOVED by many people . maybe its the idea that baizhu KNEW or had some swareness that the geo archon wasn’t actually dead - because again , baizhu knew he wasnt dead & it was a setup . baizhu probably has some important information around morax / zhongli , that it was better to play pretend and not know the doctor rather than putting hiM in a potion to reveal the truth ( even if it was partially ) meaning that zhongli could have had more selfish motives in pretending to not know who baizhu was .
any of these reasons , im sure , would WARRANT zhongli’s actions though . despite zhongli doing very little for his people , what he did is incredibly calculated & with thought . which is why i do consider the theory that zhongli knew baizhu , but pretended not to know who he was . jsut not for the reasons that some people may think it was for .

VPN for streaming
Title: Enhance Your Streaming Experience with VPNs
In recent years, streaming services have revolutionized the way we consume entertainment, offering a plethora of content at our fingertips. However, accessing certain shows or movies can be restricted based on your geographical location due to licensing agreements and censorship laws. This is where Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) come into play, offering a solution to bypass these restrictions and enhance your streaming experience.
VPNs work by routing your internet connection through a server in a different location, effectively masking your IP address and making it appear as though you are accessing the internet from that location. This allows you to circumvent geo-blocks and access content that may be unavailable in your region.
One of the primary benefits of using a VPN for streaming is access to a wider range of content. By connecting to a server in a different country, you can unlock libraries of shows and movies that are not available in your own region. Whether it's accessing the US library of Netflix or watching BBC iPlayer from outside the UK, a VPN opens up a world of entertainment options.
Moreover, VPNs offer added security and privacy while streaming. By encrypting your internet connection, VPNs prevent third parties from monitoring your online activity, ensuring that your streaming habits remain private. This is particularly important when using public Wi-Fi networks, which are often targets for hackers.
When choosing a VPN for streaming, it's essential to opt for one with fast and reliable servers in multiple locations. Additionally, look for providers that offer dedicated streaming servers optimized for platforms like Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+. Lastly, consider factors such as security features, user-friendly interfaces, and customer support.
In conclusion, VPNs are invaluable tools for enhancing your streaming experience by providing access to geo-blocked content and ensuring privacy and security while online. Whether you're a casual viewer or a dedicated cinephile, investing in a quality VPN can take your streaming to the next level.
Geo-restrictions bypass
Geo-restrictions refer to limitations imposed by websites or online services based on a user's geographic location. This can prevent users from accessing certain content or services that are only available in specific regions. However, there are ways to bypass geo-restrictions and access the desired content or services from anywhere in the world.
One common method to bypass geo-restrictions is by using a Virtual Private Network (VPN). A VPN creates a secure and encrypted connection to a server located in a different region, allowing users to mask their actual location and appear as if they are accessing the internet from the server's location. This enables users to access geo-blocked content or services that would otherwise be restricted in their region.
Another effective way to bypass geo-restrictions is by using Smart DNS services. Smart DNS works by redirecting a user's connection through a different server located in a region where the desired content is accessible. This method is faster than VPNs as it does not encrypt the entire connection, making it a popular choice for streaming services and online gaming.
It is important to note that bypassing geo-restrictions may violate the terms of service of some websites or services. Users should always ensure they are not infringing on any legal restrictions when bypassing geo-blocks.
In conclusion, geo-restrictions can be frustrating for users trying to access content or services from different regions. Thankfully, with the help of VPNs and Smart DNS services, it is possible to bypass these restrictions and enjoy online content from anywhere in the world.
Internet privacy Thailand
Protecting Internet Privacy in Thailand
Internet privacy has become a pressing concern in today's digital age, especially in countries like Thailand where online surveillance and censorship are prevalent. As internet usage continues to grow across the nation, individuals must take proactive measures to safeguard their personal information and online activities from prying eyes.
One of the most effective ways to enhance internet privacy in Thailand is by using virtual private networks (VPNs). VPNs encrypt users' internet traffic, preventing ISPs, government agencies, and hackers from monitoring their online activities. By connecting to a VPN server, individuals can browse the web anonymously and access geo-restricted content without compromising their privacy.
Additionally, practicing good cybersecurity habits can significantly reduce the risk of privacy breaches. This includes regularly updating software and operating systems, using strong, unique passwords for each online account, and being cautious about the information shared on social media platforms.
Furthermore, individuals should be aware of the data privacy laws and regulations in Thailand. While the country has laws in place to protect personal data, enforcement can be lax, leaving individuals vulnerable to data breaches and unauthorized access to their information. Being informed about one's rights regarding data privacy and holding organizations accountable for any violations can help mitigate these risks.
Moreover, utilizing privacy-focused web browsers and search engines can further enhance internet privacy. These tools prioritize user privacy by blocking tracking cookies, minimizing data collection, and providing additional layers of security against online threats.
In conclusion, safeguarding internet privacy in Thailand requires a multi-faceted approach that combines technology, awareness, and advocacy. By implementing these strategies, individuals can better protect themselves against invasive surveillance and maintain control over their online identities and activities.
