Crow's Eye View and Limbus Company
Poem No. 9, "Muzzle", Crow's Eye View poetry collection:
Every day was a spate of gusts and now a largish hand touches my waist. Just when the smell of my sweat seeps through the ecstatic vales of my fingerprints: fire. I shall fire. In my digestive tract I feel the stout gun barrel its slick muzzle kissing the back of my clenched teeth. Then at the moment I close my eyes for the blast just what have I spit in lieu of a bullet.
By Kim Hae-Gyeong (김해경). Pen name Yi Sang (이상)
There are two notes to make about this poem. The first is that it has been directly referenced prior to this, in the Solemn Lament Yi Sang's passive name:
Fire.IShallFire
I want to note this in relation to the EGO's mention of "My viscera", which carries the implication of shooting one's self, alongside the awakening line's "feeling of the gun barrel" (or in other words muzzle).
Now in order excluding the mentioned
This poetry collection has been referenced several times throughout the game, and i thought i would compile all the places that it has been referenced so far (and with a healthy dose of conjecture)
Note that i am aware these were written without spaces, however for the sake of being readable i wont be removing them.
Poem No. 1 "13 Children":
13 children speed toward the way. (For the road a blocked alley is apt.) The 1st child says it is scary. The 2nd child says it is scary. The 3rd child says it is scary. The 4th child says it is scary. The 5th child says it is scary. The 6th child says it is scary. The 7th child says it is scary. The 8th child says it is scary. The 9th child says it is scary. The 10th child says it is scary. The 11th child says it is scary. The 12th child says it is scary. The 13th child says it is scary. Among 13 children there are scary children and scared children and they are all they are. (It is better that there is no other excuse.) Of those it is fine to say that 1 child is scary. Of those it is fine to say that 2 children are scary. Of those it is fine to say that 2 children are scared. Of those it is fine to say that 1 child is scared. (For the road an opened one is apt.) It does not matter if 13 children do not speed toward the way.
This poem has been referenced a multitude (2) of times in different places.
The first is the use of the word children in the uptie stories, referencing the 13 children, as there are 13 sinnners (remember that dante is still a sinner, even if they have no ID's (yet)).
The second is during Yi Sang's Dimension Shredder Corrosion:
As a matter of fact, the alley is an open one
alongside its profile line being "open alley", in direct reference to the second line of the poem.
Poem No. 2:
When my father is dozing by me I become my father and I become my father’s father and even then my father is my father like my father so why do I keep becoming my father’s father’s father’s…father why must I jump over my father and why at last must I be acting out myself and my father and my father’s father’s and my father’s father’s father’s roles all at the same time staying alive
This one will return in later mention.
Poem No. 4:
Tumblr media
This above poem is a symbology of death, the geometric sequences all ending at zero, reaching their terminus. This relates to Hae-Gyeong's tuberculosis, which would eventually kill him.
Poem No. 5:
Tumblr media
Relating back to, but not being the origin of, Yi Sang's motif of the "Wings".
Alongside Poem no. 2, this relates back to the concept of stagnation in ones life.
Poem no. 10. "Butterfly":
In the tattered wallpaper I see a dying butterfly. It’s a secretive mouthpiece a hotline to the other world. One day in my glassed beard I see a dying butterfly withered and feeding on the poor dew that respiration makes. If I die with my palm over the mouthpiece the butterfly too shall spring away. Words like these are never to be let out.
This is the inspiration for the abnormality named "Funeral of a Dying Butterfly" within the mirror dungeon, and arguably the "Funeral of Dead Butterflies" in games prior.
The second is the line "ISeeTheDyingButterfly" in the Solemn Lament ID itself. One could consider the fact that Yi Sang received this ID in itself a reference.
Trigger warning: mentions of suicide and self harm in the proceeding section, read with caution
Poem No. 15:
1 I find myself in an interior with no mirror. Me-in-the-mirror has surely gone out. For fear of him I tremble. From where and how does this sinister figure machinate against me. 2 In a cooled bed I slept cradling a crime. I was absent in my certain dream and my military boots which held prosthetics soiled my dream’s blank sheets. 3 I steal into an interior with a mirror. To release me from the mirror. But crestfallen and without fail he too and in sync enters. Bestows his regret upon me. Imprisoned by me as I am by him me-in-the-mirror too trembles. 4                                                          My dream where I am absent. My mirror where my counterfeit does not appear. Yearner for my solitude to whom even incompetence is OK. Finally I have decided to prescribe suicide to him. I indicate the awning window which does not even have a view. The sole purpose of that window is suicide. But he cannot go before I kill myself he instructs me. Me-in-the-mirror is almost a deathless bird. 5 I occulted my heart with metal held the pistol up to the mirror and aiming leftward the chest pulled the trigger. The bullet dug into where his heart should be but his heart is to the right. 6 Crimson ink spilled out from the carbon heart. In my dream to which I am late I’ve been sentenced to capital punishment. It is not I who rules my dreams. I am guilty of a grave crime for holding captive the very two who cannot even shake hands.
The largest and most obvious reference that can be drawn from this is the "me in the mirror" relating back to canto 4 and Yi sang's relation to mirrors as a whole.
The second, in stanza (the term for a paragraph in a poem) 5, can be linked back to Fell Bullet, once again relating to the bullet piercing the heart that was present in the story of the Freischutz, however the failure of this to kill, or take Yi Sang's soul.
the 6th stanza is also interesting for its relation to both dreams, alongside its relation to handshakes. One could relate this to the abnormality "handshake of handshakes" or alternatively "Wandering Mind" (source of Wrist Guards and Phantom Pain respectfully), however, in Poem

Ena, HooH, and Xipe: Overseers of Balance
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
****Honkai star rail/Penacony including 2.1 spoilers ahead****
With 2.2 livestream today [I didn’t watch the livestream on the day it came out so this was written without knowing what was coming out soon but also….THE NEW BOSS????], I wanted to take a closer look at 3 Aeons in particular for this thread bc of the similarities between their concepts & also to look at possible roles/connections in the story of Penacony in particular
Since I normally analyze pairs of Aeons & this time we have 3, I’ll briefly introduce the 3 then I’ll talk about them in detail while trying to connect them to each other & the story
First is Ena, the Aeon of Order; they were absorbed by Xipe during the Swarm Disaster; they had a faction that followed them called the Beyond the Sky Choir which eventually stopped when they were absorbed
Tumblr media
The second is HooH, the Aeon of Equilibrium; currently they are alive, their faction is the Arbitrators
The third is Xipe, the Aeon of Harmony; they are currently alive & their faction is the Family in Penacony
From Enas entry, we see they have a human-looking face or mask with an inner body that seems to encompass space & stars, giving off mostly blue & purple colors while their face, limbs, accessories, and veil have a white & gold palette; their arms have strings coming out from them which presents them like a puppet; another feature to note is the eye that appears besides them which has a gold outline and a blue and purple iris
Their symbol is represented by the icon of an eye, referring to the open eye that is present behind them in their art, with abstract shapes behind it; at first glance the symbol might not mean much when we look at it & it might look simple bc it’s just an eye but I feel that there may be more to it
Tumblr media
The 3 circles & 3 sharp points are arranged in a way that doesn’t look randomized where if we were to divide it in half vertically, it would be balanced
Why does this matter? Mainly bc Ena is the Aeon of Order but what exactly does that concept mean? Order can be defined in a few different ways depending on context but in this case, Ena’s concept is related to the idea that things are arranged or done in a particular way, method, sequence, etc. of which we see an example in the dev log as explained by Herta
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She states that she doesn’t like Ena’s personality as a “control freak” but rather their concept or at least how the universe followed the Order
In the case of planets & civilizations, under the Order they would first prosper for a time before coming to an end; this would be the cycle that was followed consistently as it is natural for civilizations to rise and fall
Going back to the abstract shapes, I want to bring up the Rule of Three, which applies to many situations but the general rule involves three things that make something effective, satisfying, ideal, etc. As we saw, the icon had three circles & three pointed ends but they were arranged specifically to make the whole symbol not very chaotic, thus it can be satisfying to look at
Interestingly we see 3 being involved in their faction, the Beyond the Sky Choir: the dev log which mentioned a “three-dimensional framework” & the curio called the Triangular Drum-roll Device
Tumblr media Tumblr media
HooH the Equilibrium has a face w/ a body consisting mostly of geometric shapes, giving them a sort of blocky appearance; their body swirls & twists in a round circle which converges towards the center where we see two orbs(?) that are blue & orange while their two hands are clasped together in the center
When we look at their overall design, we can tell that they exhibit some form of balance; their name is exactly symmetrical since it can be split into Ho & oH; when it comes to their physical design, they have what we could consider, for simplicity’s sake, both “positive” & “negative”
Let’s pretend that positive is represented by the white tiles & negative is represented by black tiles, you can reverse the situation & it’ll still apply: the positive & negative tiles balance each other bc there is enough of both positive & negative that they would cancel each other out, creating a sense of balance
The symbol of HooH is well represented by a balance scale, often used for measuring & comparing the weights of objects to see if one is lighter, heavier, or equal in weight to another
Tumblr media
Equilibrium as a concept refers to the idea that two opposing things cancel/balance each other out, creating something called “sum zero”; the implication of equilibrium is that things in life are divided by two as opposed to any other number
Herta talks about HooH in a dev log regarding how long they’ve been around compared to other aeons while also pointing out how they focus on duality
Tumblr media
Now we have Xipe the Harmony who has a human-like body w/ 3 faces on a single head, long hair, purple skin, a dress that encompasses space, a ring of rainbow colors behind their head, and puzzle pieces floating around their form
Their symbol is quite abstract when we look at it as a whole
Tumblr media
It is similar to Ena’s symbol where we had those abstract shapes in the background which came out to be 3 circles & 3 sharp points; here is a similar situation where the shapes are repeated 3 times in a circular fashion (it reminds me of the mitsudomoe, it’s the symbol that has 3 tomoe going around the central point of focus)
Tumblr media
As of this point I’m not sure if the shapes themselves actually refer to/mean something specific to Xipe but I think something to point out is that the “commas” act differently based on whether they’re in the forefront or the background
The ones in the front don’t seem to interfere with any of the outer shapes on the same layer as them; however when we look at the background, the commas seem to cross into the other shapes next to them
Now what exactly is Harmony? The concept itself is when everything comes together in a single thing to create something unique or something that is typically good; for example we use harmony in music to refer to when notes or instruments are played together to create a coherent/cohesive song but we can also use harmony to refer to other things like life; in other words, harmony is a synonym for unity
Next we’re going to look at connections to each other & to the story; these 3 Aeons have varying degrees of involvement in the story as well as with each other; HooH seems to have very little connection to the other two so there isn’t rlly much I can say about them for the time being aside from their supposed involvement in the Swarm Disaster & the end of Tayzzyronth which we find in the simulated universe
Tumblr media
However Ena & Xipe are much more connected both to each other & to the story when compared to HooH
Ena & Xipe are quite similar which makes sense considering that their concepts were fairly similar which ended up with the former getting absorbed (to clarify on their concepts, Order is the specific way to arrange or place things while Harmony focuses on fusing or combining things to bring about peace or good)
In terms of design, I would argue that they share similar color palettes, mainly cool colors (purple, blue) w/ a side of warmer colors on other features (Ena’s accessories & veil, Xipe’s halo)
Another similarity that I can see is their connection to music
Both Aeons received praise through songs through their respective factions, Beyond the Sky Choir & the Family; now that I think about it, perhaps the “commas” in Xipe’s symbol are actually supposed to be music notes in the world of HSR? I wouldn’t be surprised if they write music notes differently from what we would expect
Now in terms of their connections to the story I’ve heard theories of Ena being possibly connected to Gaiathra Triclops, the Mother Goddess that is mentioned in the most recent Trailblaze quest (****the next part about Gaiathra Triclops is mostly just me entertaining some ideas & pointing things out that I want to note, take w/ a grain of salt); I don’t think they are the same bc there are a few discrepancies that can be pointed out but maybe Gaiathra Triclops is an aspect of Ena that physically manifested
It is explained that Avgins do not follow the Aeon belief system but we also don’t know the exact origins of the Mother Goddess so what if she came from an Aeon? Aeons are the origin of concepts so it doesn’t seem far fetched to suggest that “minor”/sub-gods(?) could possibly come from them
We know that even if an Aeon dies, sometimes they leave behind remnants of themselves that still exist in the current time (e.g. Tayzzyronth & Swarm Disaster) so I don’t think it’s impossible for a similar situation here
We hear that Gaiathra Triclops is depicted as a left palm w/ 3 eyes & Ena does have 3 eyes in total if we count the one in the background; interestingly she is described specifically to be often depicted as a LEFT palm so are there any other manifestations of Ena possibly depicted as a right palm or just another body part in general?
Tumblr media
Speaking of eyes, many have pointed out that the eye in the background has a striking resemblance to Aventurine’s eyes
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The irises & pupils don’t look the exact same but it feels more of a design choice bc Aventurine’s eye shapes help to establish a sense of mystery/suspicion when it comes to his character; other than that the purple/neon pink outer ring & inner blue ring do match
If the Mother Goddess inherited the same eye from Ena, it could possibly explain how the Aventurine got the same eye despite Ena having been gone before the Sigonian incidents; I know the timeline of events are a bit cloudy so it’s not all clear but it just seems way more than a coincidence to me that Aventurine has the same eye colors as the one that appears besides Ena but I’ll leave my musings there
Now Xipe is the one who has a much more prominent presence in Penacony’s story compared to the other two Aeons
Even before entering the world we are made aware of Xipe’s ties to Penacony & its history; Penacony used to be a desert planet that acted as a prison which was owned by the IPC; the IPC eventually lost control of it due to Nanook & the residents of Penacony became members of the Family under Xipe
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In terms of the Trailblaze Mission itself, we never see Xipe in person but we do see two notable instances of (extensions of) Xipe’s powers in the story: first is when we enter the Dreamscape & Robin helps us get accustomed to the new environment through tuning; second time is when Sunday invokes their power on Aventurine during the interrogation
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In both cases we get the rainbow aura reminiscent of Xipe’s halo around our screens, for the MC we seem to have less of a problem whereas Aventurine suffers the entire time he’s under the influence; this reminds me of our clockwork ability which is essentially direct emotional manipulation (Clockie is most definitely sus, no question about it)
To me this change in how the extensions of Xipe’s power can go from harmless to dangerous is representative of Penacony’s storyline; it looks like a normal peaceful resort at first glance but then we learn about the darker aspect of the Dreamscape aka the memes that have appeared & untold dangers
To end this off, I do want to reiterate how Ena, HooH, and Xipe are interesting representations of different aspects of balance if you could tell based off my title for this thread; my main reason why I bring this up is bc Nanook is presented or framed as the main antagonist of this game bc of their nature as the Aeon of Destruction and the intention/goal is to stop them supposedly…
Therefore I am curious of whether we will see Xipe, HooH, and just the other Aeons in general play a bigger role in this plot of somehow stopping Nanook or if they’ll leave them be bc that is simply their nature; they are all beings who follow their own concepts & ideals so they do what they feel is right based off of their own values
If we are to consider what is balance in this universe, destruction would be the opposite of preservation which is represented by Qlipoth but we also can consider Yaoshi to be their opposite since they help grow life wherever they go
We also were somewhat expecting the Annihilation Gang to make an appearance during the story but we learned that they disbanded after Ifrit was killed by Acheron; does this mean that we won’t really see them again? We also know that Nanook doesn’t really like how the Annihilation Gang operates bc they see their sadistic desire to destroy as “impure” so it seems almost like we’re left hanging when it comes to them
I know that we are still in the Penacony arc so this might not be addressed at the moment but I’m still interested in seeing how the overall plot involving Nanook will play out 👀

old photo
Tuesday, March 25, 2025
School work was definitely easy today. I had very little written work, just some definitions and an update to my History study guide, not enough to really photograph, so enjoy an older photo. Algebra was fully online, mostly Khan Academy exercises which can be worked out on their platform saving paper. This is good because I only have a few sheets left in my Algebra 2 notebook and still 37 days of studying left after today. It looks like a lot of what is coming up is review from Algebra 1 and Geometry, so I have my old notes for all of that.
What is coming up? Ballet exams for me start tomorrow and Thursday. May 9th is my scheduled harmony/counterpoint exam with my practical at May 28th. Mom will be gone all next weekend, and as long as I stay on track, I should be done with school on May 9th or May 12th depending on how I decide to work in any exams since my harmony/counterpoint exam is that same Friday.
The end of the school year is almost here!🦄
Tasks Completed:

Follow Up Notes to the Uruguay Workshop AT Teachers and Trainees.
To My New Uruguay AT Friends,
When I teach, whether in workshops or online, I follow up with notes. So here, I will finish giving you the list of AT principles I began at our workshop, the principles that have fascinated me for half a century.
Often, we think to ourselves in words. But sometimes, most of us also think in images. For me, directions, or messages, can be imagistic. With practice, we can get good at sending messages from our brains to parts of our body, or to our whole body, and sometimes even to the space around our body. Good images are full of information that can tap into our innate integration, that can energize our primary governance, or primary pattern, or primary movement. You want to find images that possess geometric power and beauty, that are three dimensional, that move beautifully or that are beautifully still, (like mountains). Fluid images can be particularly effective. (The octopus).
If they are to work, images need to be precisely located in the body and they must resonate with the body’s physiological design. Imagining a little baby sound asleep, laying upon your diaphragm, breathing, and you watching that baby as it sleeps and softly breathes can free your breathing in a way that trying to breathe correctly could never do. That image would not work for your feet, but imagining that you have huge, soft, furry bear feet does work for the feet.
Images can communicate, instantly, a large amount of information: size, shape, texture, timing, quality of movement, direction of movement, initiation and sequencing of movement, etc. It might take ten pages of words to express what we see and feel in one second when we see a great photo or painting. Images can also be positively emotive for people, that is, they sometimes communicate positive feelings which can help us feel peace and poise. The full moon over Mount Fuji. The mermaid swimming in the ocean. I mention just a few of the images we played with during our day together. I have hundreds of images that help people move well and feel well.
[Thanks Bruce Fertman]

Wonders of the Past - a Post by Silvia S.
"The Wonders of Ahmose's Papyrus 📜 Many are curious about how the ancient Egyptians managed to construct the pyramids using intricate mathematical calculations.
The Papyrus of Ahmose, also known as the Mathematical Rhind, is the oldest known manuscript featuring algebra and trigonometry. Its origins trace back 1500 years before the time of Christ, roughly 3500 years ago.
This manuscript reveals that the Egyptians were proficient in employing first-order equations and had various methods to solve them. They were also well-versed in quadratic equations, adept at solving them, and familiar with numerical and geometric sequences.
For instance, they were capable of handling equations like:
X2 + y2 = 100,
Y = 3/4 x, where x = 8, y = 6.
This equation serves as the foundation of the Pythagorean theorem, a2 = b2 + c2, and in Egyptian terms, the unknown number was referred to as "koom."
Also nwe should note that Pythagoras developed his mathematical theories after a visit to Egypt, where he learned from Egyptian priests. This historical fact has been substantiated by Greek historians and scholars like Farpharius of Sour, Herodotus, and Thales.
Remarkably, the Egyptians had mastered algebra, trigonometry, and geometry approximately 2,000 years before Pythagoras was born, and even around 3,000 years prior to the birth of al-Khwarizmi.
Today, this invaluable papyrus can be found in the British Museum in London."

you know about musical tuning right? harmonics? equal temperament? pythagoras shit? of course you do (big big nerd post coming)
(i really dont know if people follow me for anything in particular but im pretty sure its mostly not this)
most of modern western music is built around the 12-EDO (12 equal divisions of the octave, the 12 tone equal temperament), where we divide the octave in 12 exactly equal steps (this means that there are 12 piano keys per octave). we perceive frequency geometrically and not arithmetically, as in that "steps" correspond to multiplying the frequency by a constant amount and not by adding to the frequency
an octave is a doubling of the frequency, so a step in 12-EDO is a factor of a 12th root of 2. idk the exact reason why we use 12-EDO, but two good reasons why 12 is a good number of steps are that
12 is a nice number of notes: not too small, not too big (its also generally a very nice number in mathematics)
the division in 12 steps makes for fairly good approximations of the harmonics
reason 2 is a bit more complex than reason 1. harmonics are a naturally occurring phenomena where a sound makes sound at the multiples of its base frequency. how loud each harmonic (each multiple) is is pretty much half of what defines the timbre of the sound
we also say the first harmonics sound "good" or "consonant" in comparison to that base frequency or first harmonic. this is kinda what pythagoras discovered when he realized "simple" ratios between frequencies make nice sounds
the history of tuning systems has revolved around these harmonics and trying to find a nice system that is as close to them while also avoiding a bunch of other problems that make it "impossible" to have a "perfect tuning". for the last centuries, we have landed on 12 tone equal temperament, which is now the norm in western music
any EDO system will perfectly include the first and second harmonics, but thats not impressive at all. any harmonic that is not a power of 2 is mathematically impossible to match by EDO systems. this means that NONE of the intervals in our music are "perfect" or "true" (except for the octave). theyre only approximations. and 12 steps make for fairly close approximations of the 3rd harmonic (5ths and 4ths), the 5th harmonic (3rds and 6ths) and some more.
for example, the 5th is at a distance of 7 semitones, so its 12-EDO ratio is 2^(7/12) ~= 1.4983, while a perfect 5th would be at 3/2=1.5 (a third harmonic reduced by one octave to get it in the first octave range), so a 12-EDO fifth sounds pretty "good" to us
using only 12-EDO is limiting ourselves. using only EDO is limiting ourselves. go out of your way, challenge yourself and go listen to play and write some music outside of this norm
but lets look at other EDO systems, or n-EDO systems. how can we measure how nicely they approximate the harmonics? the answer is probably that there is no one right way to do it
one way we could do it is by looking at the first k harmonics and measuring how far they are to the closest note in n-EDO. one way to measure this distance for the rth harmonic is this:
Tumblr media
adding up this distance for the first k harmonics we get this sequence of measures:
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
(this desmos graph plots this formula as a function of n for k=20, which seems like a fair amount of harmonics to check)
the smallest this measure, the "best" the n-EDO approximates these k harmonics. we can already see that 12 seems to be a "good" candidate for n since it has that small dip in the graph, while n=8 would be a pretty"bad" one. we can also see that n=7 is a "good" one too. 7-EDO is a relatively commonly used system
now, we might want to penalize bigger values of n, since a keyboard with 1000 notes per octave would be pretty awful to play, so we can multiply this measure by n. playing around with the value k we see that this measure grows in direct proportion to k, so we could divide by k too to keep things "normalized":
Tumblr media
plotting again, we get this
Tumblr media Tumblr media
we can see some other "good" candidates are 24, 31, 41 and 53, which are all also relatively commonly used systems (i say relatively because they arent nearly as used as 12-EDO by far)
increasing k we notice something pretty interesting
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(these are the same plots as before but with k=500 and k=4000)
the graph seems to flatten, and around 0.25 or 1/4. this is kinda to be expected, since this method is, in a very weird way, measuring how far a particular sequence of k values is from the extremes of an interval and taking the average of those distances. turns out that the expected distance that a random value is from the extremes of an interval it is in is 1/4 of the interval's length, so this is not that surprising. still cool tho
this way, we can define a more-or-less normalized measure of the goodness of EDO tuning systems:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(plot of this formula for k=20)
this score s_k(n) will hover around 1 and will give lower scores to the "best" n-EDO systems. we could also use instead 1-s_k(n), which will hover around zero and the best systems will have higher scores
my conclusion: i dont fucking now. this was complete crankery. i was surprised the candidates for n this method finds actually match the reality of EDO systems that are actually used
idk go read a bit about john cage and realize that music is just as subjective as any art should be. go out there and fuck around. "music being a thing to mathematically study to its limits" and "music being a meaningless blob of noise and shit" and everything in between and beyond are perfectly compatible stances. dont be afraid to make bad music cause bad music rules
most importantly, make YOUR music

upgrades
alpine have reprofiled their rear wing to increase load and reduce lap time
williams have updated the geometrics of their front wishbones, track and push rods to match their flow conditioning updates introduced at zandvoort
ferrari have revised the third and fourth elements of the their front wing to improve downstream flow
track action
mercedes, vcarb and mclaren are all running one off liveries
mclaren's contraversial rear wing has been cleared by the fia
a fourth DRS zone has been added, it's between t14 and t16 and is third in sequence
the track has been resurfaced in small parts at the entry and exit of some turns - dont cover the width of the track so balance could be thrown off by different grip levels
not a very representative session - too early in the day and lots of dust to be cleared so track evolution will be high
mclaren had issues with removing a wheel on oscar's car - managed to prise it off without damaging the hub so he could join the session, 15mins late
daniel had an aerorake stuck to the rear of his car - required some minor repairs
brief yellow flag - perez off into the runoff at t16
charles got caught out by dust on the track on his first flying lap
joining the track from pit exit, perez blocked valtteri who was on a fast lap
esteban adjusted his rear suspension midway through session to reduce rear sliding
lewis struggling with 'too much understeer'
yuki got delayed by lance, who was slow ahead through a corner
oscar pits after bumping the wall on the exit of t10 with his right rear - pretty straight on so only lost some paint
perez reporting he 'cant stop with the front right' - locking up rather than slowing down
george also struggling with his front right being 'too grabby'
lewis asking the team to fix 'the traction metrics' - theyre too sensitive so causing wheel spin
zhou had a big snap right at the end of the session, went wide onto the runoff at t1
alpines struggling with understeer
ferrari are looking very strong, both in single lap and race pace - car looking planted and drivers seem to be confident
both lewis and george unhappy with the car
redbull are again struggling with instability on corner entry so cant push as much as they need to, to be competitive
most laps - pierre, esteban and carlos w/ 27
least laps - kevin, lance and daniel w/ 21

💎The Energies of The Crystal💎
Tumblr media Tumblr media
💎Facts and Silly Things💎
These engines are able to create any gemstone they please but mainly the gemstone on their body.
They also fuse with other Crystal engines like in Steven Universe.
They’re a lot like the Steven Universe gems and when their gems crack, they become corrupted… first the body will gain more and more cracks, like their gem, and after a while, moldy spots begin to form on their body until that takes control and they lose control of themselves and they become these deformed monsters that were once wonderful engines… but on a lighter note, the only way to repair them is to get them to fuse them with a Rose Quartz, the ultimate healing gem.
They can make genuine, beautiful gemstones and can use them to meditate, aline with their chakras, ect.
They have their birthstone somewhere on their body and can summon their crystal weapons from their gem.
They can cover their skin in a geometric-like crystal barrier, giving their skin a beautiful shine, but the crystal barrier can be easily shattered, and it mainly used for showing off and not battle.
But what they can do in battle is summon large crystal spikes of their gem from the ground and the gem on their body will glow, making their gem more noticeable.
💎Now onto their Prowess (Abilities)!💎
Gemstone Generation: The ability to create any gemstone from the earth or their hands.
Crystal Aura: The ability to surround oneself with floating gems and use their auras to the users advantage.
Crystal Spike: The ability to create a huge spike of their respective crystal as a shield or attack.
Crystal Bestowal: The ability to turn oneself into their respective gem, but still have a humanoid look.
Crystal Consumption: The ability to eat gems or crystals for energy.
Crystal Beam Emission: Release beams of a crystal.
Crystal Blast: Release crystals over a specific target area.
Crystal Bolt Projection: Release low powered projectiles of crystal.
Crystal Bomb Generation: Create bombs/explosions of crystal.
Crystal Breath: Discharge crystal blasts from mouth.
Crystal Bullet Projection: Fire in short sequence over a wide area.
Crystal Infusion: Empower and energize anything touched or used (usually a weapon) with crystals.
💎What sets them apart from the other Elements?💎
All Crystal engines will have a gemstone somewhere on their body, but the gem can corrupt if not taken care of properly. The gem will start to grow grey moldy spots and make the user feel like they have a really bad cold. The the gem will start to crack and break off, rendering the user immobile. The body will also become stiff and hard as a rock while the gem will become soft and easily torn off. The only way to save a corrupted gem is to place a Rose Quartz on the gem and step back. The rose quartz will sprout pink tendrils and ecapsulate the gem and user. After a minute or two, the tendrils will retreat and the user will be ok, just with some scars.

Terrence Howard Talks About the 6000-Year-Old Secret of The Flower of Life
youtube
The Flower of Life has mystified civilization for more than 6000 years. Terrance Howard explains the physics, math and logic behind this ancient tool. Existential Knowledge like this from Terrance Howard is surprising, since we never knew he was a physics buff.
Watch This and learn how this Beautiful symbol clarifies Life and Energy as Existence.
What is the flower of life?
The flower of life is one of the most recognized symbols in the ancient and modern world. The sacred geometric pattern consists of 19 intersecting circles spaced evenly from each other that reveal an intricate pattern of overlapping symmetrical flowers.
The striking visual is meant to represent creation, the sacred masculine and divine feminine, and cycles of life, death, and rebirth. Some believe the flower of life is also a key that can unlock hidden knowledge of time and space within its petal-like structures.
"At baseline, it is a geometric form of perfect—and some would say divine—proportion," intuitive energy healer and author of Energy Work for the Everyday to Elite Athlete Cyndi Dale tells mindbodygreen. "The flower of life is a beautiful and ancient symbol that has been depicted in many cultures across time. It's found in Egyptian, Hindu, Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, and Judaic artwork, religious structures, and manuscripts," she adds.
Based on Assyrian relics, historians can date the flower of life to 645 B.C.
Beyond its earliest origins, author of Sacred Geometry: How To Use Cosmic Patterns To Power Up Your Life Jemma Foster shares that the flower of life can also be found in countless temples and sacred sites across the globe, like the 5,000-year-old walls of the Osirian temple in Egypt, where it is burned into the stone as if by laser.
Meaning and symbolism of the flower of life.
"The flower of life represents the cycle of creation and the interconnectedness of all life," Dale says. Spiritually, the symbol can be used as a focus for attaining a sense of enlightenment and the awareness of peace. "It can also be used symbolically as a pathway to seek our personal and unique purpose within the greater universe," she adds.
Beyond its spiritual implications, Dale explains the flower of life also has associations with the chakra system—the main energy centers of the body. When there are no blockages and energy can effortlessly course throughout the entire body, it enables balance to exist between the mind, body, and soul. When looking at the geometric symbol, she says the image is seen to contain the seven chakras aligned in the middle.
"The reason that we typically link a lotus with a chakra—with different chakras shown with different numbers of petals—is that chakras are energetic. Based on nerve plexuses, they each spin at a different rate. Each chakra manages a specific bandwidth of energy, measured by color or sound," she says.
As such, we can work with these sacred patterns to boost our energetic health. Because the flower of life is the visual connection between all living things, it's said to have many benefits. And to reap those benefits, some recommend meditating on the image or wearing the symbol as jewelry to raise your vibration or even as a form of protection.
The flower of life in sacred geometry.
"Sacred geometry is the underlying form or geometry in nature—and not only the environment on Earth but in the cosmos," Dale explains to mindbodygreen, elaborating that the flower of life is considered sacred because these formations are considered one of the most significant patterns in the universe.
If you peer closer at the flower of life, inside you'll see many sacred forms nestled within. Dale notes the structure includes the tree of life systems, a universal code known as the Fibonacci sequence, the Golden Ratio of Phi (a mathematical radio that shows up constantly in nature), and Megatron's cube—which carries the five platonic solids, or foundational shapes of all organic life.
"It is thought that the flower of life holds a secret within it—a circle, which in many cultures, is considered the 'zero point' or the 'origin' of us all," Dale says. "This is the Oneness that ties us together."
What makes the flower of life so meaningful is how it potentially supports emerging scientific theories today. "Recent offshoots of quantum and 'spiritual' physics are suggesting that the universe is conscious, sort of a quantum information field with awareness and that all the energy or data that have ever existed is stored in geometric forms within it," she continues. "We are composed of these same forms and can exchange data with the universe because of it."
How to use the flower of life.
The flower of life is a reminder of unity. To add more connection to your life, Foster suggests drawing the flower of life since the art can be activating for meditation and processing. It also acts as an invitation to resonate at its frequency on a deep cellular level.
"The flower of life is a key ally in raising and protecting the energetic quality that you and your environment are operating at," Foster says.
To mobilize its creative energy, Foster also advises placing the flower of life in your space or onto objects. "This means to come into coherence and to move out of dissonance. [It] brings the surrounding area or object into greater coherence, for example, to restructure water, or to help negate some of the negative dissonances of a laptop," she adds.

"That Really Happened?!" DC Comics Tournament
The Bracket
Groupings
We had 48 entries, which does not split evenly into a geometric sequence (2, 4, 8, 16), but it does split nicely if we break it up into groups of three first. So instead of a bracket with a left and right side, we will have a three-way bracket, where the finalists from groups A, B and C will all go head to head with each other round-robin style.
Seeding
In the poll that went up yesterday, I asked for feedback on seeding preferences. Interestingly, most people voted for grouping similar content, followed closely by random. Some people favored traditional seeding, and very few wanted to see the most popular go head to head early on. Personally I'm not a fan of random since it really unbalances things, but boy would it have been easier than what I've been doing! So here's what I did for our current tournament.
I've hand paired all 48 entries to match similar ones, or ones that I felt had an interesting hook between them. Next I created three different full brackets using these initial pairings so I could compare them. One was completely hand seeded, further grouping sets of matches together. Another took all the initial pairings and put them in traditional sort order using number of notes to indicate popularity (slightly unbalanced bc posts vary in age). And for the last, I took the initial pairings and randomized them with a few manual tweaks to distribute the most popular. All three of these approaches have pros and cons, which made it a tough choice, and in the end we are going with the fully hand seeded bracket. Not every entry had an obvious match, but I hope this will make the tournament compelling!
Schedule
Since we have three arms of the bracket, expect three polls to go up every day until the round is over. Each poll will last for the full seven days. We may or may not take time between rounds. The first round starts tomorrow!

Trigun Stampede episode 6 liveblog!
oh, a defector, presumably?
Alright, Punisher is an apt title it seems
so confirmation that the red plants are the ones considered defective. but huh, "scheduled for disposal" - I was under the impression that they didn't have a way to get more? They wouldn't keep them around just in case?
Meryl and Roberto have good reasons for leaving, but I'm still kind of expecting it to not last very long
oh those were some suspiciously cross-shaped coat buttons. and symbol on the back of the coat.
huh I think his guns are also cross-shaped
Okay yeah so Wolfwood is very much taken off guard by this.
The 2D animation kind of startled me tbh lol
The lack of voicelines in this section is interesting! Kind of directing you to pay closer attention.
Wait the law enforcement appearing reminded me - Vash's appearance is pretty well known, right? Is he not disguising himself at all?
Oh what's catching up to the car and why are they so colorful??
... the 2D silhouettes approaching the building look kinda like caskets.
"child of blessing." huh.
oh THATS a color sequence
he's on an upside-down cross I... wow
also bit of a weird feeling that this might be kind of early to learn this?? Like I feel like this is at least a late-season or season 2 sort of sequence. There's been two and a half episodes of Wolfwood so far total.
That is a lot of cells
Wait the scientist guy seems surprised. Where did Wolfwood get the glass thingies if not from him??
Oh wtf is somebody psychic or. whats happening here.
Okay first of all I don't think we've seen this person before, but I think they have the same haircut as the baby twins and the angel kid.
Second "eye of michael," okay. I guess that's the thing in the center of the symbol, then.
Oh this is the guy with psychic powers(?)! Alright, that's a mystery partially solved. Second question: How??? (is that allowed???)
Huh, I'd have thought they'd also indoctrinate the kids, if they're getting them from that place?
Also. I'm assuming this is a framing thing for the viewers, but it also kind of feels like the guy is also seeing the future here.
Bluesummers, okay. Sure.
"Forgive us, boy." Unless he's talking about something else, this seems at odds with the priest's previous charicterization. Huh.
Oh I think I missed it, but they said something about Wolfwood retaining something, mentally, right? I should check that.
Implication that the orphanage needs to supply two kids at any given point?
More skull motifs on Bluesummers.
And the mask on Livio is sparking blue. Looks like it matches up with whatever was happening to his eye in the flashback. (I wonder why so many have their visible technology on their heads?)
Geometric patterns on Bluesummer's arm, noted (and small book! ...actual bible?). Also is he paralleling Wolfwood and Livio's relationship and Vash and Knives'?
Are they redirecting the ship to the orphanage?? Why???
That's like the most neon I've seen on this show by far. Feels a little weird honestly.
Notably Livio doesn't seem to have emoted at all.
End notes:
Uhhh general observations first. Animation in this episode was very cool as always. Background music was noticeable, but felt intentional in that.
On the symbolic stuff this episode, idk if I have enough knowledge to really speak to any of it? Bluesummer's emotions shtick seems like a personal rather than organizational thing, for one. I think Michael is an archangel, and other media I've seen them in has had them either as an authority figure or as like a high-ranking fighter. Those portrayals were also definitely taking a lot of liberties, so that further muddies the water.
No idea if "child of blessing" has symbolic meaning, but it kind of reminds me of Rollo from last episode? In the sense that they kind of undergo the same thing and also that results in a 'blessing' they don't get to experience/enjoy, potentially through their doom or demise.
I feel like I don't really have a lot to speculate on in this episode, particularly in comparison to the last. I'm surprised that Wolfwood is getting this much focus so early, let alone a two-parter mostly about him. With the reappearance of the neon desert raiders, I was expecting Meryl and Roberto to also return, but I could be wrong or it could be the next episode lol.

MUSIC: Pythagoras and the Twinkling Perfect Fifth Pythagoras, 500BC, the Father of modern day Music, took the whole length of a string, bridged it at the midpoint, plucked that half and arrived at the Octave or 1:2. He examined all the other Ratios of 2:3 and 3:4 and charted the table of Chords and Harmonics. "All Is Number" is his most famous quote, which means all is frequency, vibration, and though we only see the visible and hear the audible, there are many other dimensions in the invisible and inaudible spectrums.
That is why the ancients scholars believed that size is profane or that it does not matter, but only ratio or scale is sacred, and the ultimate Scale Expansion is the Phi Ratio. eg: if you divide an octave by a Perfect Fifth, (13/20), you get the golden ratio.
This Perfect Fifth fits in approximately with the Fibonacci Sequence as a 3:2 ratio. A helpful way to recognize a perfect fifth is to hum the start of "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star"; the pitch of the first "twinkle" is the root note and pitch of the second "twinkle" is a perfect fifth above it. That is why we all love it.

Five more Music-Themed games
This isn't really a genre, since I'm not constricted by only researching "rhythm games". If it's got music and uses it in an interesting way, I'll take a crack at it.
Undertale - I really enjoyed this game in my younger years. Not only was it a well-put-together RPG, but it included pretty good commentary about morality, choice, empathy, and choosing what is right over what is easy. Characters were incredibly memorable, giving you reasons not to kill them, and the world would change based on your actions. You felt like this benevolent being in a world that you have no reason to save, and yet, by pulling on the strongest emotions, these characters, mere sprites and lines of code, could convince you to invest in their lives. The fandom may have been a cesspool rivaling the dark ages of FNAF, and to be honest, I never got interested in Deltarune, but standalone, Undertale was good. Oh, and the music was also amazing. Toby Fox is a ridiculously good composer; the music is well-made, but he also utilises leitmotifs and character themes to create emotional connections and fun nods. For example, Spider Dance - a theme that plays when you fight a spider lady - when played on piano, requires you to play as a duet, i.e. with two sets of hands, as a spider would. The greatest example of this is Hopes and Dreams, one of the last songs you listen to if you're going for true pacifist. I don't know how to spoiler text in Tumblr, so if you haven't played Undertale yet, just don't look at the screen. Essentially, Asriel is the true form of Flowey, that genocidal maniac who has been puppeteering your journey through the Underground. Now freed from his flower form, Asriel wants to reset the entire timeline and bring everything back to how it was. In his theme, the opening track Once Upon A Time can be heard, giving your adventure a cyclic theme, and Flowey's old theme, Your Best Friend, can also be heard at times, connecting back to Asriel's bitter existence in the flower. This is topped off with an orchestral rock theme to the entire track, showing you that this is the climax of the game. Video games are art.
Beatsaber - This one's a classic VR title. I believe it was FUNKe who said that (paraphrasing) most VR games basically boil down to either machinery operation, or swinging a stick. Beatsaber is this idea in its most distilled form, chopping apart blocks to the beat of whatever song you've chosen. Most times, you have to slice a block along the direction of the arrow stamped on it, and there are weird frosted glass blocks that you have to keep your sabers out of. There's really not much I can talk about with this one; in my eyes, it's the Pong of VR games. It's got a sort of interesting aesthetic; geometric shapes, colored lasers and dry ice gives everything an 80s disco theme. What I like about Beatsaber is that it's a VR game that uses its virtual reality to its advantage. Lots of VR games will have you maneuver yourself around with simple button presses from your controllers, and the VR-ness of it is relegated to a 3D graphics card. With Beatsaber, you have to swing the sticks yourself, and the directional blocks keep the movement interesting. I suppose it's closer to osu in the sense that you have to factor in your own speed, reflexes and direction, instead of pressing a key when the arrows line up.
BPM: Bullets Per Minute - I've referenced this game a couple times, but now I get to talk about it in a little more detail. Without just saying "it's like Metal Hellsinger but without vocals and without a sword", there is more to it. The beat-to-beat gameplay is more about hitting the smaller notes, rather than just performing an action to the tempo, as you do in Hellsinger. You know when you're listening to music, and imagining some sort of action-packed sequence unfolding to the rhythm? That's what BPM is. You have to leap, dodge, and shoot, all to the beat, but there's more to it than that. Some weapons have interesting reloads that don't easily fit into the rhythm, like a bolt-action rifle that has four shots on the beat, four cocks on the beat, and then three reload beats. It's hard to explain, but you need to account for the type of rhythm and fit your gun's timing into that. It's a pretty cool idea, and there is a bit of a roguelike element with gear you can switch out to make fights interesting, or add a new mechanic to fit onto the beat.
Serious Sam 2 - This may not seem like it has a unique twist to its music, but I believe it does. This ridiculously over-the-top cartoonish horde shooter is a lot of fun, primarily for all the things it does "wrong". It came out in 2005, when first person shooters were steadily stagnating into slow "piss-filtered" modern military games. Despite this, you juggle something like 15 weapons, fighting through hordes of clowns with explosive cream pies, ogre footballers, giant robot spiders and ripped devils with rocket launchers for hands. Everything is bright and stylised, you can clearly see enemies in the environment, and despite being a horde shooter, the gameplay loop allows you to progress through the enemies instead of being driven back by them. Also, it's just mindless fun to plough through the game's many worlds; there's a jungle world, a gigantic world, a culturally questionable China world, a volcano world, a fantasy world, and then a prison moon, and then a city planet... it goes on for a while. There's unique music for each level (not just each world), and not only that, but the level's music is split into different themes - a "peace" track, a "tension" track and a "fight" track. If you're just walking along, it plays the peace track. If you're near enemies, or escaping from combat, it plays the tension track. If you're in the middle of a fight, it plays the fight track. All of these share similar leitmotifs, so it appears like the music flares up organically depending on what situation you find yourself in. It's a pretty good system all things considered. Other games of the time with dynamic soundtracks would loop different parts of the ambience based on your situation (like Thief or the original Far Cry) but I don't know of many that had different tracks for your sitation, except maybe Deus Ex.
Geometry Dash - GD feels like a game that almost everyone has played, or at least heard of. It's a basic rhythm game, but instead of having you mash arrow keys to the beat, it's simple: jump on time to the beat. All you have to worry about is jumping; avoiding spikes, blades, and walls. There are other mechanics, like different modes (UFO is like Flappy Bird, while the spider can snap to a vertical surface) and portals that reverse gravity or make your character a mirror version of itself. The different collectibles add replay value, encouraging you to find secret paths in a level or try to complete one first try.

Baggy Jeans: 4th music show
I was worried that the dark outfits will merge with the background, but bright light beams and colours were used, so the contrast was there.
Performance, fullcam. Interview. On of the chorephraphers talks about the dance.
4:24-4:28 Tae trips going back, DoTen catch him.
4:49 - Do was late with his sentence being distracted by JaeYoung, laughed about it.
So far there is no group photo with DoTen being chummy. Which, for me, is a sign of things still being lukewarm. Doyoung usually uses an opportunity to take bts pictures with his faves like Jeno, Jaemin, Lucas.
The main performance video is so shaky (and the channels always uplod them in low quality), it's hard to watch. The jumps between different takes of the choreo are also too noticeable. I'm really glad we have fullcams nowadays.
The stage didn't have props this time around, which actually worked well. The lightshow (what is the name of these image sequences for led screens on concerts?) is good and fitting.
The clothes have more urban/futuristic feel to them, so the more simplistic background with geometrical patterns and lines worlks.
Doyoung whispered his "baby you don't know what's in ma pocket", fans were crazy over it on twitter.
I think it was the first time Ten didn't release the jeans in the final, heh.
It is unusual for Mark to not stand out. As a main rapper and a main dancer he is put front and centre, he has a lot of screentime. He was very iconic in t7s. In BgJ performances he blends in. It is both his clothes (covered head, no bright hair) and his more energetic, rather than flavoured dance. Ten and Jaehyun easily steal the attention with their detailed work.
I really like how Jaehyun does "one more" arm movement. Both strong and elegant, with a twist of hands. Jaehyun is a lead dancer, he is in the middle when it comes to dancing skills in NCT, but this choreo really suits his body and his set of skills, so he can shine.
Side note: I think noone can do that swinging dangling arms left and right move in Shalala better than Taeyong, he just does it on another level. Sometime idols just own particular moves.
