In Germany, we don’t say “let’s go” we klatschen mit den Händen auf die Oberschenkel and say “Jetzt geht jeder noch mal aufs Klo und dann reiten wir los” and I think that’s rad.
When you're listening to the very first Bibi Blocksberg Hörspiel ever made ("Hexen gibt es doch" from 1980), and there's this exchange:
Narrator: "And only women can become witches. It's always been that way."
Barbara Blocksberg: "And it's always going to stay that way, Boris."
Boris Blocksberg: "But mom, if you magic me into a girl, then I could become a witch, right?"
Barbara: "No Boris, then you'd only look like a girl. But your soul would be a boy, and you still couldn't do magic."
So here we have the very first Bibi Blocksberg episode ever, from 1980(!!!), explicitly making a difference between physical sex and "what gender your soul is", and clarifying that the latter is what matters for their "only women can do magic" rule.
Gebt gerne in den Tags an, aus welcher Region ihr kommt und ob ihr das Ganze verrührt bis eine homogene, trinkbare Plörre entstanden ist oder wie auch immer ihr das sonst trinkt/esst <3
I've been very confused about how often I hear a-spec people complain about how much they're thrown into conversations about sex and romance and how often they're asked about having a crush or a boyfriend/girlfriend because... I don't experience it to that degree?
Obviously I've been asked if I have a crush but like I can only remember like three instances where it was like this and it never escalated beyond that (e.g. no one's ever not believed me).
I wondered if I just really lucky in that aspect of the aro/ace experience? And when I told my mom about it in conversation she said it was most likely because of cultural differences and our country probably just had lower expectations about getting married and having children in general. And I realized she was right.
So yeah my aroace brethren. Move to germany. We have lower expectations in the less conservative parts when it comes to finding someone
What do you base your opinionon that Spain is doing better than Germany in regards to racism / how immigrats are treated?
did you even read my post? and have you looked at the news lately? 😅
spain (the country that persecuted my ancestors!) is 100% doing a better job on anti-arab discrimination and pro-palestine causes than germany, and it's not even close because the bar is so low!
meanwhile, in spain:

i'm sorry but here in spain, my family, friends, and i are free to express our solidarity with our brothers and sisters in gaza freely.
yes, spain is still very anti-arab and anti-immigrant, and i have experienced racism my entire life. i don't give spain a lot of credit for most things, but at least we are trying to be on the right side of history here.

too many people are being infected by this right-wing rhetoric, sad to say.
