side note. im just upset now about how it feels like my work is no longer belonging to me. I dont get to choose what it is put into. it is now a comodity for whoever believes that they have a right to my work.

When I work in an art-based industry, what I produce will not be my own. It will be owned by another company who hired me. I could spend hours on it and pour my life force into what I create, but it could be held by the company and not released or released and removed from my ownership.

Now tumblr is the same. now every website is the same. You never have control of what you post forever. You never get to choose what happens to your online work. But now I know that what I post will go directly into the content meatgrinder that is AI technology. I will not get to choose this. I will not get to own my work any more. Even if I opt out, even if thousands of users opt out, not everybody will. Not everybody will know. Not everybody will want to. Not everybody will be bothered.

Theres a difference between individuals reposting my work onto pinterest and an entire blog being fed into AI. Theres a difference between a single human feeding artwork that isnt theirs into AI and an automatic process in which my data, my artwork, my life is being fed into AI. I will never own my own work again unless I keep it directly next to me and never share it.

Im debating pulling all of my work from this website.

Actually the whole work thing would be infinitely less stressful if I actually knew how to navigate the white collar world and was not from a working class background and I have no idea how anything works because we were poor! No one in my family has done shit like this!

I'm going to the fish store today after a dr appointment. I'm picking things up for a client. Not for my new tank. I don't need anything for the new tank. the new tank will be stocked with shrimp and nothing else untill the actual tank can be built and established in the new apartment. this tank is to be used as a hospital and quarantine tank only. i don't need anything for it.

you guys remember that time my dad killed my pet and then blamed me for it lol

#i still miss jpeg so fucking much #i remember for weeks after he died i would turn on his light in the morning and forget that he wasn’t there to greet me and it was so awful #remembering he was dead every single morning #and every few days i would put a little plant food in the tank and it was such a fucking gut punch every time #bc the cycle was disrupted now. nothing was working like how it was supposed to bc he wasn’t there anymore. those plants that lived off him #for months were the only thing i had left of him #and he told me at one point after he died ‘next time you get a betta you have to take care of it’ like FUCK YOU I DID! I FUCKING DID!#i cycled the tank and i fed him and i kept tabs on the water levels and i did all his water changes and i told my dad when he started #getting sick bc i wasn’t able to get medicine myself! and he tried to fucking gaslight me into believing that i was delusional!#bc he didn’t want to admit that he was wrong! and he refused to fucking do anything about it to the point where i was scrambling for people #i knew who could drive to take me to the fish store and get medicine #and then he fucking died! he died when i was at school and my dad just flushed him down the toilet #and he told me in the most insensitive way possible #and he tried going ‘im sorry i didnt listen to you’ or whatever like sorry’s not going to fucking cut it you killed my fucking pet #and then he went right back to blaming me for it #and then after he died my brother told me that he’d asked my dad about jpeg one time and he SAID that he was pretty much a goner #he fucking KNEW he was dying and still refused to do anythign??? for what fucking reason? bc he couldn’t admit he was ever wrong? bc he #wanted to watch me suffer?#and then for weeks i was taking care of an empty tank #bc the plants in his tank were the only thing left of him #and i couldn’t let them just sit and wither away bc that’s what i did with jpeg and i couldn’t just watch him die again #and then i moved his plants into the other 40gal and i had to look at the way the other fish ignored jpeg’s favourite anubias #and i had to take down his tank and wash all the rocks and driftwood and pack it all back up and then he was gone for real #jpeg was the first thing i was really proud of and my dad had to fucking take it from me #rambles #vent #pet death

i love animals that will eat their own babies or siblings cos its so awesome. theres not enough room in this ecosystem to sustain both of us beyond this moment so i will eat you to maintain balance. i know they dont think that way but its how nature just works i s'pose. terratorial boundries too that maintain a perfect amount of area for 1 apex preditor to live cos if there was 2 or 3 the ecosystem would b decimated.

#my danios made me think of this. they keep laying eggs but no babies ever emerge because the eggs and fry are eatten by the adults.#i rarely ever feed my fish theyve lived in harmony in that tank for almost a year now without food.#the daphina and small worms and algae and debris sustains them. but there isnt room or enough food in the ecosystem for more #so they get eatten because their parents are always hunting for food and the eggs are just there #but if i fed the tank the eggs wouldnyt get eatten because the adults wouldnt be actively looking for a meal in their teratory #and then the eggs would hatch and the fry would survive because there is an excess of food and neutrience to be eatten #when 1 dies off the chances the eggs are found will lower and there will be a higher chance of population increase #so naturally the population is maintained at an and optimized level to keep the tank running smooth without my intervention #and this is all becasue they eat their own young and dont overpopulate the tank by self regulating the population naturally.

I GOT TO DO A BEHIND THE SCENES TOUR OF THE AQUARIUM and we got to go on the roof and look down at the kelp tank from above which is literally like the most formational exhibit from my childhood im cryin this was me and the guy giving the tour who was just waiting for his shift to end for the weekend

Staying in the small rivertown this week, I didn't have other pets in the city to drive to, then someone asked me this week. Starting Wednesday to next Wednesday. I didn't 'want to miss that so I am driving 30 miles here and back to go to 1 pet.
