My husband's got a conference and I'm going with him because it's summer and ✨free hotel✨ and he said it's a really pretty hotel with lots of open spaces to hang out so while he's in his conference I'm taking my laptop and finally getting to some of those requests & working on my new series!

I have officially completed my first real "adult" task since turning another year older yesterday.

I just called (yes, a real phone call - even though I hate them) to schedule an appointment to have a couple new tires installed on my car this Saturday morning. I could have had them replaced either today or tomorrow, but I want a specific brand and model of tire and none of the shops near me has at least two of those in stock right now.

One of my tires recently developed a slow leak, losing a up to few PSI each day and I can't find the cause. Though, it's currently not a huge deal to just top off the pressure before I leave every other morning. Also, since I'm already scheduled to be off work until Thursday, I will only need to briefly drive on it for a couple days before I can get the new tires put on.

Luckily it's one of the two older tires with the issue and I was planning to have them replaced by the end of the year anyway. The front two were replaced around the end of last year because they were getting worn out and have been driving on a "mismatched" set since then. Come Saturday, all four of my tires should all be the exact same type and finally help appease the tiny bit of OCD in me that prefers things to match!

Now that the call is done, I can return to being completely lazy for the next day and a half, until I must return to one of the most annoying of adult responsibilities: going to work!

Random idea, but who wants to be craft pen pals with me?

Various themes include: music, goth vibes, weed, Halloween, cryptids, aliens, flowers, sarcasm, pizza, dinosaurs, llamas, succulents, axolotls, fall vibes, food, chronic illness/chronic pain and various quotes/memes derived from my struggles with being disabled, depression, black/dark humor, cats, psychedelic vibes, fuzzy blankets/stuffed animals, and whatever else my little brain desires that day. But I can also customize for that person.

Apparently, my decision to be silly and make fanart of someone's writing (because I genuinely enjoy the story the person is writing and I was struck with inspiration upon reading a particular scene) has benevolent and wildly unforeseen consequences.

I apparently gained a bit of control of the canon because said writer really loved the art and decided what I drew/draw is canon.

2. Writer put said artwork into the document of his story right below the scene, so now it's IN the story where people who read the story will see it (with a link to me)

3. He sent the artwork to all his friends and people he knows because he was so excited

Wholesome interaction and I watched him do all that in real time, good stuff. However...there are two more consequences I was notified of today...nearly a full week after I gave the artwork.

Seeing the artwork caused his friends to become interested in reading and hearing about his story, which means more people are reading what he's writing and giving him critique on the story (which he actively asks for).

Apparently, upon seeing the art, his writer friends got a sudden second wind to pick back up writing they'd abandoned for a few months. Because, I quote, "seeing that someone enjoyed {his} writing enough to take the time to make art of it gave them the motivation that maybe THEY can write something that will inspire someone to also create something." I have accidentally caused a writing frenzy among his writer friends and my silly idea to make art for someone has had a butterfly effect for people who I don't even know.

Uhh...I'm pretty sure there's a moral here but I am tired and have a great deal of emotions about this.
