#glitchtale season two

Note
Your rant reminds of the time I watched glitchtale, and partway through its 2nd season it started using he/him for frisk and chara, even tho it used they/them for those two the entire 1st season! Like, my first thought was that the villain was meant to be transphobic, but no! Suddenly the rest of the cast is also he/him-ing Frisk n Chara! Starting off fine only to change their pronouns partway in??? Needless to say, it was frustrating as heck to watch.
WHY WOULD YOU (creator of glitchtale not you) GET WORSE ON PURPOSE that's so fucking sad

I saw ur time triplets post and now I’m interested, care to share more?
Ah yes, my boys. I call them my boys even though I don't post them as much anymore but still.
Let me just put this in the simplest way possible without spoiling anything from my AU not just for your sake, but for mine too cause the AU only has season one rebuilt as of now.
There's Krux, Acronix, and Phoenix. Krux and Acronix are both named after programs like their mother, Cittrix (a name I kinda snatched from @s0l0b0d0r because I thought it was neat, I love it and it makes so much sense to me) while Phoenix was named something Greek-related like their father Kronos. (A character who was supposed to be the Hands of Time villain but he got scrapped and turned into twins. The fandom agrees that he did exist at some point. Mostly he's been headcanoned as the father of the Time Siblings which gives him the ultimate dad pun of being called "Father Time")
These three happened mostly because of there being three hands on a clock, the hour (Krux), the minute (Acronix), and the seconds (Phoenix). No one really counts the seconds hand often so no one really thought of there being three instead of two. However there is an in-universe reason why they thought it two. I'll get to that in a bit.
Anyways, let's get this started down below.
The simplest way to explain them is this:
Krux is the eldest of the three as per usual with his role. He gained the ability to halt and reverse time.
Acronix is debatably the youngest. (I honestly want to keep him as the youngest because it’s absolutely funny that he’d be last born despite his powers and the reaction he’d get from that info.) From his father he received Accelerate and Decelerate Time.
Phoenix definitely gives middle child energy with him basically being in the background at most times. Now, he actually wasn’t going to biologically inherit a power at all. It was going to skip over him because well.. he wasn’t supposed to be there. (He was not supposed to survive a few days after birth so yeah…) So his father gave him an ability himself. It was Time Theft.
We know how Krux’s and Acronix’s powers work but we don’t know Phoenix’s powers that well. Time Theft is basically a life-stealing ability. It can affect objects and beings while the user could extend their life much longer. Like the other time abilities, it's been given a color and that would be purple. Purple has a different meaning in Japan so there's a reason why Phoenix rarely ever uses this power, let alone use it on purpose.
Anyways, aside from their powers, I'm sure you noticed by the art that they decided to all do different looks to avoid further confusion than they already had in their childhood. Other than that, they were an inseparable trio of siblings which proceeds to make the next thing I'm about to type hurt.
It's no secret in my AU that they were triplets and they would be manipulated by Chen with a touch of Clouse's magic. They would turn on the Elemental Alliance and their allies. During one of the battles, Phoenix got separated from the other two by Luther, the previous master of darkness, and Clarissa, a Dragon Samurai woman. The battle between Phoenix and those two led to someone using magic to banish him outside of all time itself. (I believe Clouse had a hand in that since he saw how much of a threat Phoenix was compared to the other two with his Time Theft ability.) Phoenix would now be stuck in an unending loop of finding his timeline, trying to help any version of his brothers, failing and heading back to the timeless void itself. Being cut to the outside of existence would cause memories of that person to be eradicated. (ie Frisk in Glitchtale)
Meanwhile during their battle with the Spinjitzu Brothers, Krux and Acronix had felt a rage like no other. They had no idea why they felt that way and that clouded their judgement and caused them to lose. And for the rest of their lives, they presumed themselves as if they were always twins, not knowing they were triplets who lost a sibling. Despite thinking they're twins, they still feel like they're missing someone important.
I can't reveal more about Phoenix because my AU had only just managed to begun being rewritten and there's still some spaces to fill in and things to expand upon. I will say this.
Fanon Phoenix's theme (the Phoenix @alena-1987 knows the most) is definitely Clocks by Coldplay.
Original Phoenix's theme, when I had no idea of his personality or what to do with him, is Victorious by Skillet.
Now new/canon Phoenix's intro theme is stuck between Diabolic Clockwork by Two Steps from Hell and Haunted Clock by Gothic Storm. You can tell by the themes how his tone supposed to be. (Haunted Clock sounds like he's building something and you can only guess what that is.) It keeps the clockwork theme like his brothers but he's also supposed to have an eerie-type of feeling around him.
While Rise of the Vermillion is in Krux and Acronix's point of view (as purplefern pointed out in the comments) and I do like the other two themes he's got going for him, Phoenix's final battle theme would no doubt be "Time Claims All" by Damien Casteel. Something that would be further indicating how different he became from his former self and his brothers with Krux and Acronix keeping a high-energetic Heavy Metal theme while Phoenix picks up Orchestra with a hint of melancholy and dread. (Purple is one of the colors of death in Japan after all.)

Hi, I hope you don't mind me asking but... What IS rhg..?
What is RHG.... that is an INCREDIBLY loaded question but I will absolutely do my best to explain.
RHG, or Rock Hard Gladiators, is an internet stick fighting community where two people animate or draw their stick figures having a battle. The community votes the winner after its done.
The entire RHG community is run by this guy, Hyun.
Tumblr media
He started the community honestly around the time the first AvA was released.
Now in RHG, there are a lot of Clans, basically groups of fighters who team up in order to add to their overall score by the end of a season (1 year)
Each Clan has a leader and you can try out to join some of the more popular clans.
Some of the most well known Clans are:
-NEMESIS
-SOLDIER
-ZETABRAND
-BURST CRUSADERS
Now obviously there is so much lore within the RHG universe, and it will take months to search through all of it, but if you like cool animation, fun characters, awesome synced music, and sticks fighting on the scale of Showdown in AvA, then you'd love RHG.
If you guys are interested in taking a look at them, I'd suggest these creators.
-Gildedguy (makes full length animation and has an ongoing story)
-Shuriken255 (made the "Imitator Collab 1 & 2, helps Alan animate the AvM videos)
-Hyun (Mainly his One vs... videos, but he hosts plenty of other collabs thar are awesome!)
-CamilaCuevas (Creator of The Undertale Au, Glitchtale, leader of Nemesis Clan as Jade)
-Just search up Nemesis Clan on YouTube and start watching Umbrella's story.
-Watch an older video of Gildedguy, Slush Invaders. Honestly some of my favorite stuff.
-Oxob3000 (Has a vs Fight with Gildedguy and also helps Alan animate AvM videos)
-Jomm (The Wrench vs Jomm stuff is pretty cool! One of the members in SOLDIER clan!)
-Dojo Demon Collab (one of the greatest collabs made next to the Imitator collabs. Part 2 is getting made as we speak)
I could keep going but I'll stop here! I promise you, it won't be a waste of time to look into them. I hope I was able to answer your question!
I actually have a rhg battle under my belt, even though I lost lol. It was still really fun to do. I didn't animate, I did a comic duel, so none of you will ever find my YouTube channel yet.

Good evening:D
I have a question. Have you watched some animats like Camila or Jake? You watched Underverse and Glitchtale? If so, how do you animate them?
Uh... Yes, I do watch Underverse (very excited for the next episode, btw). No, I do not watch Glitchtale (season one was fun, but I got bored two episodes into season two and stopped watching).
Aaand I have no idea what you mean by that last question.

Undertale: The Expansion Pack … Possible More Content?
Tbh when I first made my Undertale UA (Universe Alteration), I was influenced by many things in the fandom.
• Sixbones AU by a person named Zarla shown on the Fanon Wiki
• Seraphim Sans AU from the comic “The Thought” by @tratserenoyreve
• Glitchtale Human Soul Trait Magic by @camilaart
• Disbelief Papyrus AU by FlamesatGames on YT
• The Three-Part theory over W.D. Gaster by Game Theory on YT
• The fact that Chara isn’t the villain by Judgement Boy on YT
• And my own ideas and what we already know about the game
But I really want to add more content to it like Season 2 of Glitchtale with Betty (without the heartbreak) by @camilaart and all of Underverse by @jakei95. I really like using more fanmade things in this story to basically make it feel one big passion project for the entire fandom to be apart of, but I’m not a big enough artist to make it happen. I just hope these amazing Undertale artists see this and take a liking to my idea of The Expansion Pack and help me reach my goal of including Glitchtale Season 2 and Underverse.
I am perfectly susceptible to constructive criticism of my Undertale UA, so please don’t be afraid to read up on everything and come back here to reblog this post giving your thoughts. I would love to hear about what you think is good and what needs improving. I’m wanting you to use reblogs instead of asks for the constructive criticism because they help spread the word about this idea of mine.

"The Duality of Magic" - parts 5 and 15 for a mega collab hosted by DarkArt!! sweet, sweet parallelism....
[ID: image 1: redraw of a screenshot from glitchtale season 2, episode 3. gaster stands out in the nullifier room, centered on the canvas, his arms held out to either side. behind him, and taking up most of the image, are a large gaster blaster and two humongous skeletal hands, holes in their centers, glowing a bright red, his duality attack. both gaster's and his blaster's right (our left) eyes are also glowing this same red. this is the only light source, save for some faint purple ambient light.
image 2: the same as image one, but instead of gaster, stands the bête noire, her right (our left) arm raised high above her head, her left (our right) arm laying by her side. the once red light of the duality attack, as well as the magical constructs it's made from themselves, now turned pink from bête's rhabdophbia attack. both images are from the perspective of something looking up at the subjects, who are looking directly at the camera, making them seem much larger and intimidating. end ID]

Hello to all. I finished drawing from Camila Cuevas Glichtale's two season animation fragment. A fragment where Sans fought against Betty protecting Papyrus and Gaster. But because of the determination, Sans melted and died. And here are Art's drawing steps and a screenshot from Camila's Cuevas animation.

Glitchtale S2 - Finale
So, kinda just wanna make a post, sort of just to ramble about my thoughts on the finale episode. Took me awhile to get around to it cause of life stuff, but finally watched it last night! So obviously this post will have spoilers! You have been warned.
Had some thoughts that I wanted to share, as I’ve been watching the series a long time. Like ever since the first two episodes were literally just an animatic and a cool Sans/Gaster/Frisk battle lmao
These are kinda just my own opinions, so is fine if no one agrees or if Camila sees this and is like bro shuddup it’s my plot which is fine hehe! You create what you want - is honestly really damn amazing that a series like Glitchtale has been going for this long.
But anyway. Was honestly a pretty good episode. Fights were awesome as always, art was great. I really, really loved how Toriel and Asgore sort of had their resolve. How Toriel accepted that Asgore wasn’t the only one in the wrong, that she was just as broken as he was. Because that was always my pet peeve with Undertale. How Toriel acted so self righteous, even though she literally sent children out of the ruins without her protection, knowing that they were going to die. It doesn’t matter how you spin it - you also caused their death, whether you were the one to lift your hand to them or not. So it felt very satisfying to have that resolve and have her say: hey, I’m sorry, I know I also did wrong. That was all very lovely.
But I do have some pet peeves - mainly with the story over anything. And some of these points might just me forgetting things that have happened, and if that is the case I apologise! After all there are usually a few months between episodes cause obviously animation takes A LOT of effort and time for just one person. So if I make any mistakes with my grievances then feel free to dismiss the point.
I think I will just start with the biggest pet peeve I had in this episode: why were Chara and Asriel the ones who defeated HATE? I don’t know about anyone else, but when the fight ended, and it seemed like Chara and Asriel had won, it just felt... Very unsatisfactory? HATE had been built up every episode to be this huge unbeatable villain who characters like even Gaster and Sans couldn’t even put a dent in. So for Chara and Asriel to defeat HATE in the span of roughly 11 - 12 minutes after characters continuously getting screwed over left right and centre by them, it just felt... Weak?
I just think it wasn’t Chara or Asriel’s victory to have. Don’t get me wrong, the fight was AWESOME. The animation was great, the music with it was superb as always. But it just felt all wrong when it seemed like they had had their victory. In my personal and honest opinion, I feel like this victory should have belonged to Sans and Frisk, and here is why.
I really would have liked some kind of resolve between the two characters. In the first few episodes of the first season they’re demonstrated to be pretty good friends. Frisk risks their life for Sans on multiple occasions and even visa versa. So when they had their big falling out because Frisk was talking about resetting everything to resolve the problem with Betty, and Sans died, it really left a mark. Because it’s like damn... These two characters who are usually so close had such a big, stupid fight, and now they can never resolve it. Now Frisk has to live with the fact that they made their friend hate them and caused them to walk into their death feeling like he hated them.
Now think: they have this villain - HATE - and they have to team up to defeat it. Sans is still furious with Frisk, still feels like they can’t trust them, doesn’t even want to talk to them. But if they DON’T team up together, then everyone is DOOMED. Everything that Sans cares about and fears losing will just all disappear anyway, as if Frisk had reset. So they may as well try and fight, right?
It would have been very nostalgic to the first few episodes where Sans would use Frisk’s soul to defeat their foes. It would have been their (platonic) LOVE that would have defeated HATE, and at the end of all of this, maybe you could have had a little moment where Sans realises, hey, maybe hating Frisk for the past just isn’t worth it anymore. That LOVING each other and being there for each other as friends is just way more important.
I know that probably sounds cheesy and cliche haha, but I would have personally found that super sweet and satisfying!
My other pet peeve is a smaller one, and not one I need to rant about as long hehe cause this post is already becoming a school essay lmao (congrats if you’ve made it this far through my ramblings!) but I think there were just WAY too many character deaths. Or rather, too many situations where characters kept getting put in situations where they were about to die, or seemingly going to die.
By this final episode I just felt nothing when characters seemed like they were going to be killed off? I don’t know if that was just me being detached because it had been so long between episodes so maybe the emotional attachment did wear off a little. But so many characters in previous episodes just kept getting put in similar situations, by the finale any time a character got hurt or seemed like they were dead it was just like... Okay, so that may as well happen.
Those were sort of my main criticisms of the finale episode. Obviously I know working on a series and animating it all to one person is a difficult task, and honestly I do think that Camila is extremely talented and a great story teller! There were many times I was on the edge of my seat or there were moments very early on that seriously made my heart hurt. Alphys’ death will never NOT be painful. Haha
Just because I have these criticisms doesn’t mean I think the episode was overall bad. It was pretty decent. And the cliffhanger really has me looking forward to the next season. I just don’t want this post to come off that I’m attacking or even expecting anyone to take in what I’m saying. Just thought I’d share my own little thoughts and if anyone wants to read them they’re free to do so hehe.
Thanks for reading!

About Glitchtale Agony
Tumblr media
Glitchtale Agony (GT!Agony) is an Alternative Universe (AU) from the Undertale (created by Toby Fox) fan-series Glitchtale, created by Camila Cuevas.
In this AU, the concepts of the Five Nights at Freddy’s (created by Scott Cawthon) Universe are mixed with the Undertale and Glitchtale ones.
To better understand the AU, you need to have played/watched a gameplay of Undertale, watched Glitchtale, and have basic knowledge of the FNAF universe.
Don’t worry! I'll do a post explaining everything you need to know about FNAF to Understand GT!Agony!
_____________________________________________________________
Glitchtale - Season One [Playlist full of episodes]
Glitchtale - Season Two [Playlist full of episodes]
Camila Cuevas - Creator of Glitchtale [Her youtube channel]
_____________________________________________________________
Here the animatronics are represented by monsters from different types. Like Bunny-type, Fox-type and Bear-type, that all exist in both Undertale and Glitchtale. For example: here Funtime Foxy is represented by a Fox-type monster (Foxy), and is not an animatronic.
Here the human animatronics (Circus Baby and Ballora), are represented by normal humans. For example: here Circus Baby is represented by a girl named Bridget; and Ballora is represented by a woman named Belle.
Here The Afton Family exists, alongside William Afton and Elizabeth Afton. But their story is different from the FNAF one.
William Afton’s story is different from FNAF. Here he is not a child murderer who used to dress himself as Springbonnie to kidnap and kill them. Here William Afton is a human scientist specialized in robotics, who became crazy while studying about magic and the power of souls.
Here there are two main eras: The 80’s and The Modern times. With the 80’s being a representation of the 80’s era in FNAF.
Here, Bête Noire is not the only creature created by the inversion of a soul trait (Bravery to Fear), here there is a creature named Hollow Beast, that was created by the invention of the trait of Kindness (Kindness to Selfishness).
The events that happened in the 80’s don’t affect what happens with the original Undertale/Glitchtale cast (Frisk, Sans, Papyrus…).
Just like in Glitchtale, the events that happened in the 80’s are caused by a Glitch. And exists because of the same reason as the other new characters of Glitchtale (Betty, Agate, Copper…).
The events in the FNAF timeline are represented by an event in GT!Agony. For example: in FNAF, Circus Baby lured Elizabeth with ice cream to capture her, but in GT!Agony this doesn't happen (because it would be impossible), so this event is represented by the fact that Elizabeth and Bridget (Circus Baby) met at an Ice Cream shop.
Here, the events of Sister Location are represented by the experiments that William used to do in the 80’s.
Here, every human has a soul trait. Bridget has the Patience one, Elizabeth has the Kindness one, William has the Perseverance one, and so on.
While the war between humans and monsters were happening, some monsters managed to escape, and were not trapped in the Underground like the monsters that we see in Undertale/Glitchtale. These monsters are the ones that live in the monster village that William found in the future.
Just like in the original Glitchtale, Frisk and Chara are male.

As I create more information I’ll write them here, so it can be easier to understand.

How to Redeem Bête Noire
Tumblr media
The following article relies on the idea Betty’s SOUL color means she is always afraid. See the tag "SOUL of Fear: Always Afraid?" on the ArgentDandelion blog for more information.
The antagonist of GlitchTale's second season, Bête Noire ("Betty") is a unique being with a SOUL of Fear. As previous posts would suggest, her SOUL of Fear likely means her motivations and actions are fuelled by fear. This includes her desire to wipe out monsters, supposedly because they pose a threat to humanity. Yet, as previous posts have pointed out, Betty's belief monsters threaten humanity is deeply illogical. However, her fears about them is so deep-seated that, to remove her motivation for villainy, her very SOUL would probably have to be altered.
Both SOUL trait loss and drainage have happened multiple times in GlitchTale, showing it is possible. While these have all happened to humans, and Betty is not human, nonetheless her SOUL was created from a human one and still has human SOUL-like properties.
Approach 1: Trait Drainage
Tumblr media
Many human characters have eye, hair, and text colors matching their SOULs. Both Jessica Grey and Frisk survive the drainage or loss of their SOUL traits, as shown either directly or by changes in hair or eye color. In Jessica’s case, she loses and regains her trait multiple times in the series, without seeming to affect her bodily health. Were Betty’s fear trait to be drained the same way, it might mean she would feel a reasonable amount of fear, and perhaps make her amenable to reason. (if perhaps only temporarily) It is unlikely she would naturally lose her fear trait, especially as the season progresses, thought it might be possible to alter her SOUL properties artificially.
If Chara’s emptied SOUL, as shown in the Season 1 episode Continue (above) can be filled with multiple SOUL traits, it is possible Betty’s SOUL can be similarly drained and filled with other traits. Yet, if completely draining her SOUL would kill her, or put her in a comatose-like state of extended dying (Sans’ SOUL was partially drained, which must have interfered with reviving him), then partial drainage could be more feasible. At a few points, Jessica Grey loses her Integrity trait, but apparently only partially: her eyes remain halfway blue. This might mean it is possible to experience only a partial trait loss.
If trait drainage is impossible, trait swapping could be better. Betty’s SOUL was created by using the Bête Noire spell on an inverted SOUL of Bravery: Agate’s SOUL. It might be possible to invert it once more. While supplementary material states that the chances of surviving an unnatural SOUL trait inversion are low, this was applied to humans: if it’s possible for Betty, there no telling whether it would be equally dangerous.
Approach 2: Bicolor SOUL
The GlitchTale character Rave Rutrow has purple-and-yellow eyes, hair, and text, showing he has two SOUL traits. This is not entirely without canon precedent: all the SOUL modes parallel the colors of the humans that fell in, possibly meaning they’re limited to real SOUL colors. In the Nintendo Switch version of Undertale, Mad Mew Mew's SOUL mode is Blue/Red, with the SOUL split down the middle, possibly meaning humans can have two SOUL traits.
While Betty is not human, the similarities between her SOUL and a human one might mean a bicolor SOUL is possible. However, Rave’s two-colored SOUL is natural, while changing Betty’s SOUL to a two-color SOUL would not be. Partial drainage of her SOUL, and then filling it with some other trait might result in a bicolor SOUL. While adding the Kindness trait might be the most intuitive solution, adding Bravery instead would surely be more likely to work, since the SOUL has already housed the Bravery trait before. (Unless that simply makes Betty bolder and less conflicted, which might make her even more dangerous.)
Applications & Complications
Betty is occasionally anxious early on in the series: she might be interested in SOUL modification, if only to test whether it would make her stronger (to better kill monsters) or prevent panic from leading to bad decisions (to better kill monsters). It's doubtful Betty would agree to SOUL alterations if she believed it would change her perspective or motivations, because, of course, her fears would seem reasonable to her. Yet, afterwards, she might be able to interact peacefully with monsters without feeling any fear, anxiety, or paranoia, and it would be harder to keep up a plan to exterminate them if she feels no fear for them.
The easiest time to do this would be before Betty kills Sans, or assuming Asriel wasn’t able to run away and explain Betty’s true nature. (It’s after this point Betty’s disguise as a sweet, more-or-less normal human girl becomes less useful.) If Asriel didn’t corroborate Gaster’s claim on the Pink SOUL of Fear, it might be just an interesting coincidence. Betty’s magical power comes from her SOUL trait; were she to lose her trait and her SOUL to turn grey, she would lose access to her magic. If Frisk knows Betty poses a threat or considers her an enemy, Betty would likely interpret any offer to drain or change her trait as a ploy to weaken her. (and perhaps then kill her) After all, Agate told her humans can’t be trusted.
What if Betty is Actually Agate?
Tumblr media
The particulars of how to redeem Betty differ depending on whether Betty and her creator, Agate ("The Wizard of Bravery"), are separate beings, or Betty is just a different body with different abilities that Agate is using. As of “Hate”, Betty’s connections with Agate seem to intensify, and perhaps even show she and Agate count as the same person.
Still, Agate may have essentially frozen her paranoia and insecurity in place by changing her SOUL to a pink one. So, even if Betty is actually Agate, changing Agate’s SOUL color might allow her to stop being so afraid. According to supplementary material, Agate was externally brave but internally insecure. The idea she would never be stronger than her brother, Copper ("The Wizard of Determination"), due to things beyond her control, made her insecure. Later losing to her brother so humiliated her that she lost her trait, and she later returned with her SOUL inverted to a trait of Fear. (Her SOUL turned pink only in a last-ditch attempt to perpetuate her existence by creating an abomination)
For all her/Betty's counter-productive decisions, Agate is actually smart. Her humiliation, insecurity, and power-mad status just made her very mentally unstable. If her fearfulness and anxiety were not locked in place, she might be persuaded to find more constructive ways to deal with her fear and desire to protect humanity.
The author of this post, ArgentDandelion, also has a Ko-Fi and Patreon by the same names, and invites you to gaze upon them.

(This speedpaint is dedicated to the (late) 4th anniversary of Glitchtale, and features two of the characters in season 2: Gaster and Jessica Grey!)
These two have been at odds with each other for almost the full duration of the latest season of Glitchtale. Both having lost children, they have endured so much stress, and the current ongoing crisis has had strong impacts on both of them.
They both have done and said things they regret, and they have tried to move forward as best as possible. If that wasn't bad enough, their souls have both been scarred by the events, to the point where one of them was shattered in its entirety.
Now that their story has come to a close, it is unknown how it will affect the upcoming plot. But one thing is for sure, the Sacrifice endured has inspired a great conquest for vengeance.
As an angel falls, a god has Ascended.
