tiny seed of a fic idea: the ghoul and lucy make it to vegas after 2+ weeks of Team Bonding Through The Power Of Life Threatening Road Trips, by now lucy has basically solemnly vowed to help him find his family, and then in homage to the new vegas game, cooper IMMEDIATELY gets shot in the head and dies the minute they enter vegas. he's fine, he'll be fine, he's gonna get patched up by some random good samaritan doctor and come back swinging for incredibly violent revenge. but lucy does not know this. bonus points if it's her shithead dad that shot him

Wanted interactions: obviously her father (The Ghoul), Lucy, Maximus, other tvshow characters, and selectively-speaking some ocs and main characters from the games that I know and that I think can work with her, seeing as she's a very particular type of person. Note that I am basing this 100% on the tvshow because I only have vague memories of the game. Open to ship with: unclear at this time because she's very repulsed by anything physical and ace.

Just thinking about how Cooper Howard lost so many roles because of his commercials for Vault-Tec, most likely losing a good chunk of his wealth (plus the mansion) post divorce & also having to pay a hefty amount in alimony for Janey. His entire world came crashing because of Vault-Tec. The poor guy lost his job, lost the fortune he earned, the family life he hoped to have alongside Barb and Janey, and the love of his life. All he had left was Janey and Roosevelt with the former probably only really spending time with him on the weekends if he was lucky.

If there was one category of people besides Vault Tec that pissed Janey off, it was slavers. Stuck in the back of a truck with another woman they had knocked out, she had awakened first, checked whether the other captive was breathing, unable to see much into the darkness that was only brightened by the moonlight coming from the passengers' window, and then she had started kicking the doors. She was strong enough to have a good chance, and once she got her hands on her stuff back she'd make sure no one else would survive. Well, except for the other woman. "Wakey wakey, sleeping beauty," Janey intoned sarcastically when she started waking up, and gave two other kicks at the door. The stranger was wearing a jumpsuit, that much she could see, but couldn't be a Vaultie; the closest one was 4 and none of them would ever venture in that territory, so the poor idiot must have bought it at the market, like others before her, thinking it stopped radiation. "We got a door to kick open. Any chance you know how to fight? Slavers got us. For now."

He's into making pre-war references because it confuses the hell out of new people. As a walking encyclopedia, he aims to stir a little nostalgia for a time most of the people he deals with have never had the privilege to enjoy, and also catches them off guard juuuust a little to gain himself a couple of seconds to compose himself for his next action.
