~ 🌸 Cherry Blossoms Over Wano Event 🌸 ~
Sfw~ Portgas D. Ace x F! Reader ~ Sangoro's Soba Stand
tw: no tw. fluffy and sweet. For this AU Ace is alive and has traveled to Wano with Sabo who is also ok. (as it should have been, Oda). Inspired by this drawing Oda did for One Piece Magazine .
A/n: I'm not trying to imply something happened in between Sanji and Ace in the past, but heh well, it's up to you what you wanna interpret hehehe ~ Also, I named (@kwnblack did) the dog in the drawing as Dango

Like this event? masterlist 🌸~
Tumblr media
Orange like fire, he models his kimono tied around his waist. His hair has grown a little longer, and he is now able to tie a full natural ちょんまげ (chonmage) over his head. Two swords, swords he is not able to wield perfectly but just for the look he carries.
He has tasted onigiris, dango, and everything edible so far, while he waits for his younger brother, the cry-baby, Luffy to create the ruckus needed to defeat Kaido and free the land of Wano.
Sabo, his brother, accompanies him. He is a little concerned, but he knows the gum gum boy will be able to escape safely from Udon prison.
“We should go and help him” Ace suggests, munching a big onigiri and scratching the little beard he has left to grow on his chin. “We will see how it goes. I’m sure he will be all right, but I have Koala there to supervise and call me whether it is necessary or not” Sabo says, with a hint of worry in his voice.
Both brothers look at each other, and somehow no words are necessary when it comes to taking care of his brother…
Suddenly, Ace feels attacked. A fluffy Shiba dog runs into him just to steal the rice ball he is holding from his hand. He chokes but soon starts laughing, as the doggie licks his cheeks clean from several rice grains.
“Dango!! Come here! Oh my god! I’m so sorry, sir!” you run towards them, trying to catch Dango, your Shiba dog. His leash cut and he ran towards the first stranger holding food he could see.
Once the blonde man helped you grab your dog properly, the sweet laughter of the poor victim filled your ears. He was still lying on the ground, laughing, and wiping the dog’s slobber from his face when you came closer to help him stand.
“I’m really sorry, Sir” you tell him, lending your hand to him.
Warm and soft, his palm grazes yours. As he stands up, your eyes are blessed by the sweet countenance of a man, that deep inside looks like a child. Wavy black hair, a beautiful smile, as bright as the sun, freckles scattered on his cheeks like aces, like stars.
Love at first sight, yes, that's what it is. Bewitched by his beauty, you stutter a couple of times, before being able to offer him to buy some new food.
“S-sir. I am deeply sorry. Please, allow me to buy you something to eat in compensation for my dog stealing your food” you tell him, as he slowly let’s go of your hand and fixes his orange with a chrysanthemums pattern kimono.
“I’ll be more than pleased, miss” he says, already so cheerful accepting your offering - despite you thought he would say no, at all-. “Ace!! You’ve eaten enough!” the blonde guy scolds him, and you learn his name is probably Ace.
Both brothers begin to fight, bickering so childish. “Ramen head” and “Freckled bitch” were the names they used for each other and you couldn’t help but see the resemblance and giggle.
“I can buy you two plates of Soba from that stand right there” you mumble, trying to break the fight. Both look at you, straight faces that slowly change to beautiful smiles.
Ace walks up to you and grabs you from your hand. “Let’s go, this ramen head has a special mission with a special someone now, so he won’t be able to accompany us” Ace hiss to his brother, showing clearly, he wants to be alone with you.
Sabo sighs, and nods. “Go ahead, my silly brother is right. Gotta attend some major compromises. Thank you so much for your offering, Miss” he says, smiling sweetly.
“No problem!”
The soft hand of Ace, around your wrist feels so sweet and caring. It’s almost as if you have known him since forever. “You say you wanted to eat some soba?” he asks, pulling you out from your constant stare onto his freckles. “Oh, uh... yes! That Soba is the best in Wano! Since I tasted it a few weeks ago, I loved it!”
The stall is full of people waiting for their plates, women, and children excited, men absolutely delighted by the amazing taste of the Soba noodles. The blonde guy making them, professionally folds the dough and even puts up a show when the buckwheat turns to an elastic, golden pasta.
Ace drools, he is clearly into eating delicious food more than you could have expected. “Oi! Sangoro! Two plates!” he chimes but he stops right there when the blonde cook looks at him. Both amazed and happy.
“Ace??!” the cook utters. “Sanj-... SANGORO!” Ace answers back. Apparently, they know each other.
The guys hug, and you realize they do know each other… too damn well. While you stand next to him, waiting for the soba or his attention, you realize they might be at least good friends… Sangoro, who has another name but for some reason both decide to go with the lie, spots you and his eyes turn to hearts. “BEAUTIFUL LADY!!” he exclaims, bowing at you. “Are you perhaps Ace’s girlfriend?”
Your cheeks turn more than red… his girlfriend? “She is my companion this beautiful sunny day; his doggie here decided our destinies will cross today. By the way… what’s your name?” Ace asks, realizing he has never asked your name, yet still pulled you to some kind of a date.
“Oh… uh… I’m (Name)” you tell him, petting -a lot harder than you should- Dango’s head. “Nice to meet you, (Name). Please, have this special Soba from me” Sangoro says, handing you two (and Dango) a plate of his delicious gourmet preparation.
“Thanks man” Ace mumbles, and from the tip of his index finger a little flame appears, lighting the cook’s cigar that hangs from his lips. This man is a total tease, and he doesn’t even have to try… Sangoro’s cheeks turn as red as yours, and his blue eye show some kind of panic. Who knows why?
Both sit on the little stairs of a house, and while devouring the Soba, Ace falls asleep all of a sudden. Even Dango stops eating his plate to breathe, but this man not only does not breathe when eating but also falls unexpectedly asleep. You look at him with a noodle hanging from your lips, unable to swallow because this is way too weird.
He snores, and you can’t help but giggle. What kind of man is this? He produces flames, he pigs out without munching enough and now falls asleep. But, although he acts weird, you know he is a sweet man.
You whisper, getting closer to him to try waking him up. “Uh… A-Ace?”.
Suddenly, he opens his eyes but starts choking like crazy. You hit his back several times until he is able to breathe back, with tears in the corner of his eyes and laughing so cutely.
“So, what were you saying?” he asks, acting as if nothing happened. “Oh. uhm… nothing. This Soba is delicious, isn’t it?” you say, to ease the awkwardness and simply have something to say.
Ace comes closer to your face, and his fingers pick something off the commissure of your lips. “Apparently, yes” he says, and shows the little noodle that’s been stuck there for who knows how long.
You widen your eyes, completely sunk into embarrassment and cover your face with your hands. Dango, your fluffy friend, also covers his eyes with his paws, feeling second-hand embarrassment from you. But Ace is different. He doesn’t laugh at you for such a silly reason and instead he doesn’t move away. You can feel his warm breath on the back of your hands and even a smile that you can’t see but it’s clearly there.
“Why are you so shy?” he asks. You spread your fingers, just enough for your eyes to see him looking at you. Close, so close. “I…Uh… I’m s-sorry” you mumble. “For what, (Name)?” he asks again. His presence feels intimidating, but even though it does, you sense he has no mischievous intentions with you.
Ace lovingly pulls your arms down, to uncover your countenance. “Can I see your face?”. “Uhum” you hum, with a trembling voice.
Freckles so close to you, you are tempted to play “connect the dots” with them just to see what magical drawing they reveal. For some seconds, your eyes got fixed on each other, grey burning irises on yours, what do they want to tell?
Your lips barely separate, as if they were waiting for something from him. His sweet smile, showing a little from his teeth. A connection impossible to break -it’s not that you actually want to-. Slow, little by little, closing your eyes you wait for his lips to graze yours. And he takes all the time to do so.
But when he finally does… It feels magical.
Just a soft peck, a chaste kiss at first.
Slowly but surely your mouth will allow his tongue to enter, maybe you just met him and maybe it’s not correct to kiss a stranger so fast… but who cares?
His hand grabs your waist, pulling you close, a smile you can feel pressed against yours, anticipating a passionate kiss…
A passionate kiss that your dog gives both of you, as Dango jumps over you two licking your faces of the little traces of some soba that could have been left on your cheeks. Apparently Sangoro’s plates had a sprinkle of something irresistible…
“DANGO, NO!!!”
“Okay, okay Dango, I will give some kisses to you too!” ❤ ~

Theory theory no Mi
Hi guys, another theory theory no Mi from yours truly. Today, we will dissect one of the Color Spread in One piece. This is none other than, one of the favorite Color Spread of Frobin fans! Here it is!
Tumblr media
Tada!
This color spread got my attention yesterday because Luffy is holding Sabo’s weapon. Why do you think Luffy is holding Sabo's weapon?
Here we go!
Luffy happily holding Sabo’s weapon: I think Luffy will meet Sabo in the future. He looks so very happy so I guess Sabo is okay (hopefully). This might also means that he will join with Sabo’s fight. And his outfit, some says Marco have something to do with it so I agree with them.
Frobin time! Franky being supeeer excited ready to fight while Robin’s hand is in his face: I think this is related to Pluton. Franky’s dream is to create suuuupppeerrr ship! And to be able to do that, he need to surpass one of the powerful ship ever made. And that is Pluton. In this color spread, he was like “ Come on! Show me your best shot I will surpass you! “. While Robin seems helping Franky telling him “Look over here because I know how will you surpass it. We need to look at the same direction.”
The three dogs: Some say its symbolizes the monster trio. So Oda is saying that Sanji is still one of the monster trio even though Jinbei is stronger then him. Just wait and see I will make him stronger.
Sanji holding a gun: I have two theory about this. 1) Its related to  Capone Bege. I guess they will meet again. 2) Remember the first time Sanji holds a gun? Its that time when they are leaving the Whiskey Peak. He pull that gun to protect everyone including Vivi. I guess they will meet.
Nami, Chopper and Jinbei: Seems like Jinbei will protect this two. Nami and Chopper seems planning on something. Honestly, looking at Nami’s outfit, I remember the time when she was in the Little Garden. Jeez Nami, please wear something. hahaha
Zoro holding only 2 swords: Maybe something will happen to Wado Ichimonji.
Usopp with Sogeking weapon and a serious Brook: I guess they will have an intense fight.
They are looking at different directions: I have 2 theories here. 1) Zoro and Nami is facing different directions, so I guess they will split up into two groups again. Luffy is facing neither left or right so I think he will be the only one changing groups. Either Zoro group or Nam group. 2) The person facing the right (like Zoro) is on the offensive side. They will be having a hard fight. The person facing the left ( like Nami) is on the defensive side. They will defend someone here. Luffy is facing at the center so he will do both.
Well that is all everyone. Hope you enjoy reading. God bless you all!

Fate and Phantasms #69: Oda Nobunaga
Tumblr media
Today on Fate and Phantasms, we’re making the Demon King of the Sixth Heaven and the Great Unifier of Japan, Oda Nobunaga! With this build, Nobu’s anti-divinity army will march forth, bringing unity and prosperity to what remains of the country after she’s done burning it to the ground.
Check out the build breakdown below the cut, or the character sheet over here!
Race and Background
Despite being a demon king, Nobu’s still a Human, giving her +1 to all stats. She’s also one of the most famous generals in Japanese history, so Soldier’s an easy pick, giving her Athletics and Intimidation proficiency to march on cities and make it look damn scary.
Stats:
Somehow your Dexterity is tied to how powerfully a gun can fire, so let’s make that really high. Fighting is only half the battle-you also have to make sure everyone under you plays nice. For that, you’ll need plenty of Charisma. Your Wisdom is also pretty high-you can’t shoot someone you can’t see, and you tend to come to your own conclusions about what’s going on around you. Fourth is your Constitution, you have to be able to stomach army rations. You’re a good strategist, but you’re pretty heavily affected by Being a Comic Relief Character, so your Intelligence isn’t too high. Finally, we’re dumping Strength. Firing a rifle only requires muscle if you’re holding it, and you’ve got an army to do that for you.
Class Levels:
1. Fighter 1: If you want to be good with a gun, there’s nowhere you’ll be more spoiled for choice than the fighter class. First level fighters get a Fighting Style, and Archery adds 2 to all ranged attack rolls so hit more of them. Eventually we’ll have enough shots flying that missing one won’t matter, but that’s later on. You also get a Second Wind, using your bonus action to heal yourself by 1d10+ your fighter level. Self-care is a valid strategy.
Nobu likes flintlock rifles. Like, a lot. But guns aren’t always going to be in D&D, so we’ll count it as a Heavy Crossbow instead. If your DM’s cool, feel free to replace it if you can.
2. Fighter 2: Second level fighters get an Action Surge, letting you slap another action onto your turn once per short rest. Normally this would be the part where I say you can attack twice, but you can’t, because you use a crossbow/gun. Still, an extra action is very useful if you have to disengage before you can shoot somebody.
3. Fighter 3: When you pick your archetype at third level, slide into the Monster Hunter group to become an expert at dealing with the supernatural. You get two bonus proficiencies-Arcana and Investigation- as well as Combat Superiority Dice, four d8s that you can apply to attacks for bonuses and get back on short rests. Precision Attack lets you add the roll to an attack roll, Sharpened Attack adds the roll to damage and imposes disadvantage on concentration checks that damage causes, Sharpened Senses adds the roll to a Perception or Insight check, and Superior Willpower adds the roll to an Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma save. Gods and demons really like messing with your mind, so keep a tight grip on that. Finally, you get Hunter’s Mysticism, letting you cast Detect Magic as a ritual and Protection from Evil and Good once per long rest, both using your wisdom to cast. You also learn Infernal, but that’s mostly just flavor.
We’ve started getting your revolution ready, but we’re not really a demon king yet, mostly just a really cool general. Let’s fix that next level.
4. Warlock 1: Pick a patron when you become a warlock; The Fiend puts the “Demon” back into “Demon King”, granting you some Pact Magic that uses your Charisma to cast and the Dark One’s Blessing, giving you your charisma modifier + your warlock level in temporary hit points when you reduce an enemy’s HP to 0. Now your campaign literally fuels itself.
For spells, Eldritch Blast gives you blasts of energy that could be rifle fire, and Create Bonfire creates a bonfire in a 5′ cube that forces dexterity save. Fire is kind of your theme, best to start early.
Speaking of fire, Hellish Rebuke makes fire pop out of you when you get hit, like an angry piñata. Command forces a wisdom save on a creature, and if they fail they have to follow a one word command you give them, so long as the command isn’t directly harming itself. Commanding your army is easy. Commanding someone else’s is impressive.
5. Warlock 2: Second level warlocks get some Eldritch Invocations to customize their demon-worshipping experience. Grab Armor of Shadows because your outfit really isn’t tough enough for fighting and Another, replaceable invocation.
For your spell, Hex buffs your attacks with some necrotic damage and makes the target’s ability checks worse to boot. Your events tend to make servants act a bit goofier than normal, so wisdom or intelligence are good choices.
6. Warlock 3: Third level warlocks get a Pact Boon, and Pact of the Blade will give you a cool magic weapon that you can summon as an action. You can also grab the invocation Improved Pact Weapon now, adding 1 to your weapon’s attack and damage rolls, turning it into a spell focus, and letting you make your Heavy Crossbow your pact weapon.
For your spell, Flock of Familiars will help you summon some loyal soldiers. They’re not good soldiers, since they can’t attack and you don’t have any touch range spells, but they can help you hit your target.
7. Warlock 4: Use your first Ability Score Improvement to bump up your Constitution and Charisma to be tougher and more deadly with your magic.
For your spells, Chill Touch gives you some skeleton fun, and Scorching Ray will help you put the “hot” back in “hot lead”. You can blast up to three targets with a fire attack, and hey look at that you just learned how to make three things to help you do that.
8. Fighter 4: Use your next ASI to become a Crossbow Expert, letting you ignore the loading property of your crossbow and attack at melee range without disadvantage. Give it a level and that first part will be a lot cooler.
9. Fighter 5: This level you get an Extra Attack, letting you fire twice with an attack action instead of once, for up to four bullet wounds made in a single round with your Action Surge.
10. Fighter 6: Another ASI means another feat, and the Martial Adept feat will let us leverage our existing combat superiority dice to cheat a bit. You get a fifth superiority die, and two combat maneuvers. Distracting Strike gives advantage to the next non-you attack to head that enemy’s way, and Snipe lets you make a ranged attack as a bonus action. Both also add the superiority die to the attack’s damage.
11. Fighter 7: At seventh level, monster hunters become Monster Slayers, giving you a sixth superiority die, and allowing you to spend two dice on a damage roll instead of one. If you do that and the target is an Aberration, Fey, Fiend, or Undead, it deals maximum damage instead. It’s unfortunate that celestials aren’t included in that, but you can either talk to your DM about it or hold on for a couple levels, because we’ll get something to help out on that front later.
12. Fighter 8: Use another ASI to bump up your Dexterity to make those bullets hit even harder.
13. Fighter 9: Ninth level fighters are Indomitable, letting you reroll a failed save once per long rest. Your wisdom isn’t great, but combine this with your Superior Willpower, and you’ll be pretty good at resisting the supernatural.
14. Fighter 10: Your last level of fighter gives you some Improved Combat Superiority, turning all of your superiority dice into d10s.
15. Warlock 5: Fifth level warlocks get third level spells, and Dispel Magic can help remove spells affecting an area like, say, a summoning circle. You’re good at fighting extraplanar things, but skipping the fight altogether is way easier and way funnier.
Also, grab the Agonizing Blast invocation to make your magical gunfire as dangerous as your martial gunfire.
16. Warlock 6: Fiendlocks gain the Dark One’s Own Luck, letting you add a d10 to a check or save once per short rest. Grab Fireball to launch a salvo of gunfire in a 20′ radius, and reflavoring it like this makes the dexterity save make way more sense.
17. Warlock 7: Seventh level warlocks get fourth level spells, and Wall of Fire will help you control the battlefield and make it look really cool at the same time, a win-win.
Also, grab the Eldritch Spear invocation to bring your eldritch blasts up to the same range as your crossbow.
18. Warlock 8: Your last ASI will bring your Charisma up to near maximum (unless you rolled really well) for stronger spell saves and attacks. If you’re too late to the summoning to dispel it, you can always use Banishment to kick whatever came through back to where it belongs.
19. Warlock 9: Your last warlock spell is the fifth level Hallow, turning an area of 60′ around where you touch into your own little slice of the 6th heaven. Celestials, Elementals, Fey, Fiends, and/or the Undead (your choice) can’t enter the area or charm, frighten, or possess creatures in it. You can also add an additional effect to the area, which will affect a category of creatures you choose on casting, such as a specific faction, a kind of creature, or anything that gets in. There’s a lot of effects, and your DM can give you even more, so I won’t list them all here.
You also get the Eldritch Smite invocation, letting you really pile on the damage with your crossbow, and knock it prone without a save if it’s Huge or smaller.
20. Warlock 10: Your capstone level gives you Fiendish Resilience, allowing you to resist one damage type chosen at the ends of your rests, as long as it isn’t coming from magical or silvered weapons.
For your final cantrip, pick up Minor Illusion to complete your ensemble with a giant flaming skeleton behind you.
Pros:
If you score a critical hit, you can really make it hurt. Tossing two combat superiority dice, a hex, and a smite on a crossbow bolt means you can punch through with some burst damage of 2d10+4d10+2d6+12d8+5 damage in one shot. There’s a lot of spread there, but it’s generally somewhere in the 100+ range.
You’re also really good against extraplanar threats, including gods and demons. Your mental saves aren’t amazing, but they’re well supported with superiority dice and your luck. You’re also good at dealing damage to them if they show up, or even kicking them back to their own plane if you don’t feel like fighting them.
Most spellcasters have to rely on area of effect spells to hit multiple targets, but with eldritch blast and scorching ray, you can pick and choose your targets, making you less of a threat to your own soldiers.
Cons:
You have limited spell slots and limited superiority dice, so you’ll have to take breaks between fights if you want to be your best. Don’t try to take on all the gods at once, it won’t go well.
Most of your spells deal fire damage, which is one of the most resisted types in the game, especially for demons and fiends. Your gun still works fine on them, but it does limit your options.
Next up: Best shishou!

Reading One Piece pt 221: “My Body… Won’t Move…”
Chapter 468
Thoughts:
- Chapter title says we’ll see Chopper vs Hogback. Destroy him, Chopper
- Fpos/cs: What. “Energy surges into an ancient town” Why do I see a bunch of chibi soldiers presumably waking up? What does it mean??? What are they doing on the moon??? Was Old Professor from the moon then? What a f*cking coincidence that would be. Does that mean Enel will have army of chibis now? I was just about done caring about that ministory and they suck me right in! But in all honesty, what
- “How does it feel to be captured by the powers of your own nakama!?” ooh, Hogback got Penguin and Samurai to do the dirty job and capture Robin and Chopper. That’s just plain rude
- Huh, Penguin could hit Robin now, when he refused to attack Nami earlier. It could be used for Shipping Manifesto but personally I think there’s a time limit on how long shadow’s personality holds reigns on zombie’s body, I mean Moria is waiting for Oars to lose Luffy’s… Luffyness still. And let’s remember Absalom blasted Penguin hard enough I though him gone for good
- Hogback just repeated what I said :/ Was he not listening
- So will we be watching them fighting zombies or zombie masters here?
- Cindry can be a little scary
- Chopper is speaking
- He talks about death, rebirth and heresy. I know he’s a genius reindeer doctor but… I think… this is the first time I feel this all is very unfair to him. Kid is mentally 15 here. Give him a break, not a “don’t meet your heroes” moment
- He got small now :(
- “don’t meet your heroes” intensifies
- “I was a prodigy!” “I performed operations for money!” “More and more patients kept coming from all over the world!” “It only causes trouble!” “I could save the lives of those that other moronic doctors couldn’t save!” “Don’t you understand the agony of a prodigy!?” Can I punch him now. Like what the hell
- But I have no problem buying he was a good doctor and surgeon before that zombie business. He really feels like real doctors who only do their stuff for money. I suppose if you don’t believe in that inherent “saving lives” stuff, being a medic does leave you being like… this
- What an asshole, that’s what I’m saying
- Chopper says **** YOUR ZOMBIES, they’re just puppets and you’re not that smart
- “Don’t make a fool out of life!” yeah!
- What the **** Hogback, what are you doing to Cindry
- “Lick the floor, Cindry” “Yes, Hogback-sama”
Me:
Tumblr media
- *flails around uselessly* how… how about No
[ETA: I’m writing that day after posting and I must say, I kinda went off with this chapter. All this Cindry Situation makes me really uncomfortable and that shows. Evil gotta evil and everything here is good writing but... I read in posts about “Coraline” that there are texts and concepts that kids love to read about but adults find terrifying and I think that’s exactly what happened here. I went Full Adult trying to explain and justify my discomfort.
With Chopper taunting Cindry, it’s all obviously intended and working as an “snap out of that mindcontrol already!” talk/moment BUT I really can’t imagine it being worded worse than it already was. I Do think it’s pretty much victim-blaming here but it’s more “very poor choice of words” here than something sinister. So, we’re good here. Enjoy me getting off the rails over this :)]
- Hogback tells his backstory! He had a celebrity crush on Cindry when she was alive! But she refused him! But then she died! And then! Wait, what
- He met Gecko Moria. And offered his services if Moria bring Cindry “back to life”
- “I easily obtained an obedient actress Cindry! I didn’t care for the character of the girl who rejected me! If only I had that beauty!” O_O
- “This is the zombie Cindry-chan! I’m happy, and I’m sure she must be, too… since she can once again live as a human in this world!” …
- I…
- First of all, this is disgusting and unethical, no question here. Hogback needs to die, let’s kill him
- Second of all, should that be in a shounen manga? Should we show that to the kids? Is that allowed? I mean, I think I wouldn’t be phased that much by that as a child, it would just be a little weird for me. But now it makes me feel all horrible inside, so. I wonder if they censored that part in some countries, because WTF
- Lastly, I kinda keep that blog strictly PG-13 and it wasn’t any kind of hardship or even really conscious up to this point, but now… Now I have questions I really don’t want answers to. Like ever
- CHOPPER SNAPPED, AS HE SHOULD
- “YOU ARE JUST CREATING MONSTERS!” yes!
- (side effect of this is that I’m even more uneasy about zombies being all around than I was before. I knew it was evil before but damn, I did NOT think about all the implications. It’s evil x10 now)
- Now Cindry and Chopper are fighting. At least she’s not on the floor anymore
- …excuse me?
- “I pity you! How would your family feel if they knew about this? Your wounds were horribly patched up! And you were turned into a soldier! Your relatives won’t be able to bear it!” Is Chopper victim-blaming Cindry here…?
- Cindry, who is a zombie AND was dead when they decided they’ll “resurrect” her? AND who had absolutely no say in the matter?
- …
- FUCK YOU ODA
- AND FUCK YOU FOR MAKING CHOPPER OF ALL CHARACTERS SAY THINGS LIKE THAT
- “Humans have more freedom! You are the one who isn’t treating them as humans!” Now that’s more like that. I will now erase past 6 panels out of existence AND my memory, thank you very much
- Robin springs into action!
- …?
- Zoro’s and Sanji’s shadows are fighting each other
- …god bless these idiots and their rivalry
- Bless :)
- Hogback tried to make them cooperate so Robin muted him :D
- “What happens when there is no more commands?” what indeed
- Now Robin tricked Hogback fair and square into throwing his zombies outta the window. So much for prodigy, huh
- Chopper is all business :D
- …Cindry is crying
What a rollercoaster. I thought that chapter would just be Chopper yelling and punching Hogback into next Sunday. Instead… this…

So I’ve been trying to get back into digital art and I haven’t messed with it since I was a high school freshman so plz be gentle with me. I’ve drawn the Ope Ope no Mi with my own interpretations of the fruits appeariance and textures. Thus devil fruit headcannons;
-Devil fruits obviously taste like ass, but also leave an uncomfortable after taste
-Ever take a bite of burnt popcorn? That’s what this taste like maybe?? Or maybe it’ s more like accidentally ingesting spoiled milk?
-Devil fruits have a waxy, unpleasant texture
-Devil fruits don’t have any smell to them
-I believe that Devil Fruits are linked to the missing century, as in they first initially appeared during the time period, or where officially recognized by a large government
-As a scientist I struggle to grapple with the idea that Devil Fruits were objects that were naturally developed, thus I suspect even the original Devil Fruits where created by godlike creatures at one point
-Perhaps they came to the world via Prometheus style. Prometheus gave humans fire, and some kind of god like creature blessed/cursed them with devil fruits
-Or maybe a sea god sent devil fruits to the land as a form of punishment
-Or maybe it’s all nonsense and Oda won’t ever tell, despite hinting at the fact that Vegapunk may have figured out a lot about them and will be explaining it in the future
-There’s just so many variables when it comes to devil fruits. Element based fruits such as the Mera Mera no Mi (Ace’s Devil Fruit), I associate with bending from Avatar the Last Air Bender. But ones such Chopper’s and Brook’s devil fruits cause me to have a lot of questions. (Thoughts on Chopper) (Thoughts on Brook)
-Also something I never mentioned before, it’s seems that devil fruits have limitations. For example, Luffy is a rubber man who we've seen stretch incredible distances and size, but his face is never stretched that far. Does his devil fruit not allow him to stretch his face large distances, or does he just not want to
-Also what does it take for one to understand their devil fruit power and successfully use it. with CP9 Kaku and Kalifa were able to efficiently use their powers rather quickly, but it was shown that Lu struggled to use his devil fruit for months and possibly years? Is this due to Luffy being a child at the time or does his devil fruit require precise understanding
-Honestly I have no idea, I’ll just have to wait and see what Oda has to say

A song For the Devil
This is a Ikemen Sengoku based fanfic. If you’ve played the game you know there is lots to play with (hehe). I chose the Nobunaga Route and I’m obsessed with his devilish charm and dominating presence (what can I say, I like a man with a dream and who knows what he wants). That being said, I don’t own most of these characters... whoever wrote and created the Ikemen Sengoku games sort of does (Because, you know, they are based off of actual people who not only walked this earth but also helped shape it, but like whatever)
This first chapter is fairly innocent... barely even fluffy... but the story will take some VERY dark and twisted turns in chapter 2... SO this is my warning: It will become NSFW. I will give more specifics on Chapter two
Chapter 1
Fire on fire
My name in Rina Satomi. I am the princess of my clan. To ensure the peace between my clan and the Oda I was betrothed to Nobunaga, known as the Devil King of the 6th heaven.
Due to the many battles that Nobunaga was fighting to achieve his dream to unify Japan our wedding was postponed for a year and during that time I travelled with him. I helped heal the wounded and before battles I would perform dances and sing for the troops quickly gaining the reputation of Nabunaga’s song bird.
They may have called me his, but we spent very little time together, and he only ever touched my hand to guide me when necessary.
In that whole year we hardly spoke more than greetings and farewells. The only way I got to know him was through the gossip of his soldiers and maids. His men though he was a god, not only charging into the battle with them, but often times sending men back to head quarters when they had only received minor injuries. The women of his castle spoke of rumors of what a carnal lover he was to both women and men. At the time it simultaneously frightened and exited me that my soon to be husband was so experienced.
Despite our engagement it was not Nobunaga I found myself day dreaming of. My mind should have been fixated on black hair and carnelian eyes but instead it repeated the images of the chestnut hair and golden eyes of Nobunaga’s right hand, Hideyoshi. I blame my infatuation on the mere fact that he spent more time talking and keeping an eye on me, of course for his Lord, not for my sake.
I knew that his care for my well being and safety wasn’t because he cared for me, but rather it was to keep something that belonged to Nabunaga safe. Despite this, I engaged in flirtations with him whenever we were alone. It escalated until one night, when they returned to headquarters after a particularly harsh battle, I was summoned to perform for them.
I forgot myself and my position during the song, forgot to give each of the leaders only a small bit of attention, and give most of my gaze to Nobunaga. That night I struggled to take my eyes off Hideyoshi. He was covered in wounds from battle. When his eyes met mine a heat rose throughout my body and I knew that not only did he see it, but the devil king sitting next to him along with all of the other vassals in the audience. I rushed through the song when I noticed the shift in Nobunaga. When the song was done I didn’t wait to be dismissed to leave and walked quickly to my tent.
I shivered wondering what kind of punishment I was about to receive as I washed the paint from my face. I was still removing hair pins and jewel when I heard heavy footsteps approaching my tent. My body froze at the words of the guard stationed outside of my tent. “Lord Nobunaga.”
He entered without asking for permission or announcing himself. Even with my back turned to him I could feel his wyes on me. My throat was tightening as I turned to face him. “My lord.” I spoke softly.
He stepped towards me until we were less than an arms length apart. “Would my song bird like to nest somewhere else?” He asked, and despite the anger, I could hear the hurt.
“My lord?” I questioned.
“Your eyes were fixed to another man throughout your song. I can arrange to have the two of you joined within the week.” His eyes were cold and distant.
My heart sank as I realized that instead of fighting for my affection he would rather give me away. The sinking heart in my chest turned angry and that anger spread throughout my body. He looked amused as the fires of anger spread across my face. “Lord Nobunaga, this is the most we have ever spoken of our engagement since the day it was set and it has been close to a year since that day.” I lost all sense of formality and respect for him as I continued to ramble. “You don’t show me any care or attention, you have sent Hideyoshi to check on my well being instead of courting me yourself. The rumors may be true that you’re a brilliant strategist, a fierce warrior, and an exceptional hedonist in bed, but in matters of the heart you are truly an idiot.” I heard the guard outside the tent gasp at my words.
Nobunaga half stepped outside of the tent and spoke in a stern and cold voice to my guard. “You are dismissed from your post. If you repeat anything you’ve just overheard, I will have the heads of your family and yourself removed.”
The guard left in a hurry as I stood, staring at the devil king with a raging fire in my eyes.He turned back to me with flames that rivaled my own. “Your saying it’s my fault that you desire Hideyoshi between your legs?” He asked menacingly.
“Who said I want him like that?” Anger continued to build through my body.
“Your dance. Your body. You said it yourself, I’m an exceptional hedonist, you don’t think over this last year I haven’t studied you body. You think I don’t know how a woman’s hip movements change when she wants to be filled?” He was slowly moving towards me and  reached a hand out towards my face, moving some of my black hair aside as he cupped my cheek. “Answer me. Do you want a life with him?” His face was close enough I could feel his breath on my lips.
This was the most we had talked since we met and the closest our bodies had been. Perhaps I had wanted Hideyoshi before this because of his kindness, but suddenly the fire I saw in Nabunaga’s eyes were beginning to burn the thoughts of his closest ally from my mind. “No” I whispered, maintaining eye contact watching as surprise and curiosity fanned the flames behind his eyes.
I reached a hand to his cheek and dragged it through the hair at the nape of his neck. He tensed a little at my touch. “Why have you waited this long to show me your fire?” I asked as I pulled his face towards mine.
“I won’t let a woman distract me from my dream.” He said as he pulled away from my embrace.
“I have no intention of getting in the way of your dream to unify Japan.” As the hand that had been in his hair fell to my side I clenched my fists.
“You’ve chosen a difficult life staying by the devil’s side.” His eyes were dark,  not a hint of humor.
“Then I shall become a devil myself.” I returned his dark gaze with more fire and passion in my eyes.
He turned and began to exit the tent. With his back turned to me he spoke. “When we return to Azuchi—“ he turned to look at me over his shoulder, a look of mischief in his eyes. “We will be married.” And with that he left.
That night the men did not sleep at head quarters but instead left to travel through the night to their next battle. The air was tense as they gathered up and restocked on supplies before their departure. I was still in my tent when Hideyoshi asked to enter. I paused before granting his request. “princess—“ His eyes were troubled, something I had never witnessed before.
“Will you accept my apology Hideyoshi?” I asked with my head bowed before he could finish.
He approached me and lifted me face up. “What is there for me to forgive? I feel blessed to have received your attention.” His thumb was dangerously close to my lips. His eyes were soft and inviting and my heart began to ache again knowing what I had done. I had opened a door that he had kept locked since we met.
“Nobunaga—“ I began
“He told me to come here to hear your answer for myself.” He smiled with so much hope in his face.
That Devil is making me clean up my own mess. As angry as it made me I also knew it was right.
“Hideyoshi, You’re touching another man’s bride.” I spoke softly as I kept my eyes glued to him.
He removed his hand from my face and the stern look of a soldier returned to him. “Please accept my apology my lady. I—“ it was almost a wince when he paused, as if he was greatly disappointed in himself. “I made an assumption based off of our friendship and the dance. I shouldn’t have been so forward.”
I bowed to him. And when I raised my gaze from the ground he was already half way out the tent already.
I watched as the men marched from the camp, worried for each one of them, but most of all Hideyoshi. I worried that what happened would distract him and I prayed to gods that he would make it through. I was deep in that prayer when the sound of hooves approaching me drew me to finish my prayer just in time to watch Hideyoshi ride past me and Nobunaga stop his horse at my side.
He reached down from his horse to gently pull my face towards him. “He will recover, and in the mean time I will have his back.” He leaned down towards me his lips hovering just above my forehead. “I’m sorry for making you wait so long.” He didn’t kiss my forehead, he just brushed his nose up and took a deep breath before pulling away. He sat back up and looked forward as his army continued to march on. Determination washed over his face. “Your song plays in my heart while I’m away from you.” He looked back down to me. “I look forward to hearing a new song from you when we are together again.”
My heart raced with all of this new attention and sudden poetry of his words. “Lord Nobunaga—“ I didn’t know what else to say.  He simply smirked as he urged his horse forward.
I waited to see the warriors off before returning to my tent to retire for the evening. I had changed into a grey silk sleeping robe and began brushing my hair when I heard rustling outside my tent. I turned to the entrance watching as the shadow of my guard suddenly fell and his blood splashed across the outside of my tent.

Inspiration/ King Arthur Legends, Moon Princess, legend of Zelda, Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms, Black Butler
The True Goddess- The Fallen Goddess.
Kay grants wishes and luck within the world, while Kai contains the darkest in wishes. Kept the hidden from the light of the world’s hope. But there’s always the middle grounds, Father of Gods themselves Quinn. He is the balance of the middle grounds of realm, wise in watching over with his godly children. He had fallen in love with a mortal women by the name of Meryl and died with her by heartbreak. His depression of his fawned love. He separated and passed onto the world his life near the grave of his only wife. The descendants of his 5 children became the beacons of what became gifts of many traits of men and magic. One over will and might, one over animals to be able to tame or become authentic animal/ shifter within, powers of nature the overgrowth of plants and trees through healing, knowledge by the books; elemental sorts of magic, and last the dark arts symbolism of death.
Kay and Kai, along their vital follower, Sōseki. The servant blessed by her to watch alongside her and keep her company. The day saw misery of the two couples, so she fell off and mortalized into another life a human birth with an infertile mother, who saw it as a blessing. Named the vessel Kay, after the said goddess. Her blessed form prefaced within the mortal, as it attracted the many eyes. She was the first blessing of the true Oracle. Foretold many fates tied and needed in the future. She settled off to seek them.
There was the calico cat who followed close to the Oracle. Small and speckled in brown and yellow eyes. He was insistent in following her, so she has taken care of the creature. She needed to find her reason being entrapped in this form. She had searched for the man she needed to complete the prophesied. Fukuzawa Yukichi will be king of the Full Moon. The Moon was a Lunar symbol to the Goddess. He denied any interaction with the Oracle, as spoke the future of the home of his. Corrupted by the calamity that will befall upon them, as their King is Dying and the Kingdom of the sun will take the chance to seize dictatorship over them. In which, he agreed after realizing the prophecy is an unwilling risk he’ll take.
On their journey to the kingdom of the sun, Mori Ogai a healer and talents of the dark arts. The dark arts were frowned upon, the man begged to be set along the journey to prove his worth. Their Party grew, Yosano Akiko a child gifted with life, but blinded by death, and Ranpo Edogawa blessed by Life. Illusioned his luck and intelligence to be a Seer himself. Their bonds grew, even if Yukichi wanted nothing do with it. He fell for their Oracle, as Mori matched his moves.
After the war had ended, so did the oracle’s journey. She died within the eyes of the king Wolf and his fellow allies. Mourning the lost of the voice, her body set to the lake within the forest, who then became the deity of Tranquility. Kouyou The Mother of Tranquility.
Mother had stayed within the forest, as she was seen by a child enraptured by the God of Calamity. The child however was bitter after his exile from his birth, he was a child bawling his eyes, the young youth had seen no purpose in his life. A whole village decimated by the monster within himself. An elven child had lost all rights to heaven. Only to feel warmth of Mother. Mother had a pacifying effect over the hatred. He stayed by mother and mother let him in her arms.
Mother had chose to protect the location of the Summoning temple, in which she must give her freedom to the cult. The Cult of the man who had been mourned with his daughter the closest thing to the women he loved. He had kept part of her before her body was set to sink into the lake. That created his obsession of “their” daughter Elise. The man would not let go. It was unfair to him, as he slain the mad king of the country of Portima, The Crescent Crest.
Chuuya Nakahara was the village’s small cult by few worshipper of the god of calamity, Arabahaki. They live for centuries while maintaining their youthful appearance, dark elves with their feature of long sharp ears. They are the storytellers of endless times, the archives of history. Segregated by their nature of rumors as dark elves; fictional creatures. During the reign of the sun dictator’s reign, asked for their offering of their alignance by marrying one of their women to cultivate the ultimate heir. A rebellious orphan, he was seen and only one to escape with the tragedy befallen him. Given at least one day to finalize their thoughts, they went to work to their God in hopes to save themselves. They had to give up a child to leave behind; Chuuya Nakahara. Invested him to take in as the host for their god to disappear once again. Leaving him alone again.
The outside country had fooled the young child and left him within the barrier of their mage setted up. A sacrifice of an sick and scrawny, they did it in return if retribution to the goddess. Atsushi was forced to be appointed the counter guardian by the Goddess, as his appointed role of the goddess temple protecting the resting place of hers. As it was made under her name and she blessed it. However pitted the young child and gave it a holy form. What the mortals irresponsible actions did not speak for the goddess. So she accompanied him within his slumber. Her warmth has protected him, till his forgotten centuries and one day he is needed.
Kyoka Izumi, was the Heir of the imperial princess of snow and the warlord sun. Her mother was intended to be arranged to keep the two allied. The man was a feared by many who crossed his path, instilling his power over her and her mother. She lived to fear her ancestors who follow binded by spirit to protect her. In fact the grandmother; the imperial mother. Each generation must bond with an ancestral spirit, her abilities alongside summoning.
Saint Oda Sakunosuke was gifted sight as a Seer. An Oracle is both equal to 2 seers. If he were a Seer someone else must have the same gift as he did. One thing he cannot see is how he truly ends, but only prevent minimum events. He saughted out children during the wreckage, housing them within his own church. In which he was promised protection if he did them favors. Predictions and small travel trading. He had befriended a spy Ango Sakaguchi and a man who called himself Merlin. Who trusted him with his true name Osamu Dazai. He knew to be weary around Ango, but his emotions got the best of him as he died by the other Seer. But within sacrificing of the seers was for the cause between the CULTure of Portima and the Government of the Rising Sun. Mori true purpose was to get an Oracle after two Seers dying in the same temple. Oda, his children were with him, his Goddess let him live happily with them, after
Dazai Osamu, did not trust many, after his mother left him alone after a night with a mortal mage. His Father died after that night, he was left to wear his father’s place. His mother was a beautiful succubus, who had charmed and left her son to pass on for eternity. He wouldn’t even die if anything tries, as her son taken suicidal tendencies after the father who purposely summoned his mother. Maybe it was because he aligns to light magic, purification or nullification . To die with a beautiful woman any day. Joined the cult, after being welcomed by Mori for the heck of it, felt more comfortable with Saint Odasaku. Only to be more driven to death after his human emotions affecting him deeper into depression and granting a wish/promise of the Seer. Leaving the cult to journey to the kingdom of Portima.
Ango Sakaguchi, was the double knot spy in the ranks of the government and the mafia during the dragonhead.
Tanizaki Junichirou was fated to be king of his own kingdom, that was when his Sister Naomi first prophesied his fate. They were born from the sun district, after the warlord of sun was overthrown by the villagers of the oppression.
The Central city of the rising Sun was not trusted, in which the King of Ardect; Fukuzawa Yukichi had once knew the first Oracle. He knew the Importance of the Oracle second coming, seeing that the past 2 seers set against each other. He had high suspicions of what Mori had done, in which he swiftly taken them hidden into arms of his court. He truly did become king, as Fate predicted. His shoulders weighed by the royal cloak of the past king’s spirit by his throne. He was truly lucky to have Kunikida as his scholar and his second in command. Yosano who lead battle and saved many before death. Their Wise tactician blessed by the god themselves, Ranpo Edogawa. Kenji was the representation of the friendship of the villagers of a small village, blessed highly for their youthism and strength. Junichirou was a King and Knight in training. Their purpose in hidden objective to protect both the blessing and eyes of the gods; Ranpo and Naomi.
Naomi Tanizaki was the Village Girl who danced for her passion. She was dedicated to her king; both Fukuzawa and Junichirou. Her own personification of a clingy sister to derail many to expect her to be holy Oracle. Her truth is how serious she becomes, she is wise as how she learns to change how she acts around people. She defined as a childish, bold and bright. But really, she guilty even if her brother shakes off her reasonable actions. It was the only way to not be suspected as one. After all Mori's cultivated obsession to the gods.
Kyūsaku Yumeno the prince who destroyed his own kingdom by the curse borned Q crippled his name. A prince hated by his small country. Why his mother died because of his birth prematurely. But he shared the face the king loved from his wife. He could not help decide how he felt about his only son and heir to the throne. Whether he hated him for what he was out of his control of the past or loved him for the current result of the love between his wife. He remained ignorant to the abuse and hatred of people even the staff. The boy however broken out of his broken shell to lose sense of mind. Tormented back every person with his curse, paying back what they did to him dying in pain. The last one to die was his father, he did not do anything to stop or tried to prevent the whole event to ever exist. Here all he had to do was hurt him to die for his penitence of his ignorance. He teared up, his curse did not kill his father. His father had died from a broken heart because he loved him. Leaving the prince to cry in the place of his own father “Why didn't you hit me, hurt me, yell at me and bruise me?! Why did you make me hurt in such a way!?!” Portima picked him up, grew the territory of their land.
The Akutugawa Siblings. Loving family and children blessed with a noble family. The oldest son Ryuusuke, loved his sister Gin. Gin was named after an adoptive peasant mother who was well loved for the father who was the orphan taken in by her. Ryuusuke was born sick, His lungs struggling with asthma, his respiratory failure thankfully for His father being able to get a doctor to help. Only to be prescribed doses of medication 2 times a day. Which made Gin the first to the name to the company, yet they're both able to share the title. Ryuunosuke will always be the spare to Gin. Yet happiness still born in their hearts. His father owns his success and struggle rising to his name. He saw where he stood and stranded with wealth, a childhood for his children. Jealousy ensued by other noble who saw nothing but filthy peasant with money. Waiting for their maid to give Ryuusuke his dose of medication before they both went to sleep. Their family dog Russell barking at the door, until a man in black swung at with force. You could insinuate the dog's skull was cracked from such brute force. Snatched Ryuusuke, they knew well that he couldn't go against him and struggle. His illness was his weakness, he tire easily from exercise. Which was why he relied on his magic orb tied at his hip when he needed things. Gin was the stronger and healthier one tries to take him away from the man. Only to be knocked out and over by the column of the bed. She was taken as well. So that night, the scent of ash and warm of the fire burning the manor. Ryuusuke watched as their parents burned down with the manor. He had seen dead eyes of children, their life sucked from their own leaving him with no one to even speak to him. He felt the cold prick of human contact of magic snapping him from consciousness. He found himself chained to an alter, fear bulging from eyes from the crowd of strange dark cloaks and masks. Their pupils dilating with insanity, you couldn't count how many sacrificial knives. Polished and the gleam from the candle lights from the dimming candelabra. They were speaking Latin, strange proverbs of words. The leader rose his knife over their heads with both hands and roughly jabbed into his heart. He SCREAMED! The first time he screamed, his lungs never gave out, as his air was fear and pain. Blood, Blood, BLOOD!
A demon did come to His table, he made his contract before the selfish did stole away his life. His monstrous power was called Rashōmon.
Gin was not there where Ryuusuke woken to become a corruption of a vessel to a demon dog. Who ate and swallowed him whole from his heart and soul. He made a deal to seek revenge, power and find his sister. Gin was shipped into slavery, she could have become a slave if a pirate hadn't raided the ship she was on and took away their merchandise. The Black Lizards; Ryūrō Hirotsu the captain of the ship. He had taken in the child, taught her how to live and become how she will become. A commander and assassin for the black lizard.
Higuchi Ichiyou. A spoiled brat, compared to her reliable younger sister who was closer to being chosen for her coronation instead of her. Selfish as she may be and a father who knew what was best. As their father chose to be peaceful and small nation. During the true mad king of Portima demanded the decimation and won. They had no choice but to join the Portima. Higuchi finally stood up to be responsible older sister. She cut her beloved hair and took up archery. She may have fallen for Ryunosuke Akutagawa.

The Road Not Travelled AKA Fairy Tail’s Lack of Motivation
I know. I know. Another long-winded post about why Fairy Tail isn’t good, but before you fire up the reblog button calling me a hater, I just wanted to say my peace about something that has been bothering me about the series, almost since it started. That is (as the title clearly states) Fairy Tail (and by extension Hiro Mashima’s) lack of motivation when it comes to its characters.
Warning: This post is going to be very messy. This is mostly a rant/scattered thoughts about a variety of different things in the series. If you’re looking for more cohesive breakdowns of the series faults, I suggest looking at posts from @thegreatrhapsode, @ac-fairytail, and a few others since they would be much better at this than I am. Let’s get started.
So what do I mean by “A lack of motivation”? It’s simple really. None of the main characters in Fairy Tail have anything to do and thus aren’t motivated to do anything other than what they have been doing. I’ll break them down.
Natsu: When he is first introduced in the series it was established immediately that his one goal in the series was to find Igneel. It was this goal that lead him to Hargeon where he met Lucy, and it was also what spurned him to go find Macao for Romeo. It is also one of the first things Mirajane tells Lucy about Natsu after she joins the guild. He forms a connection to Gajeel over their missing parents, and it is also one of the first thing Jellal says about him when he bursts into Erza’s mock trial.
Natsu’s singular focus in the story should be investigating any lead he can on Igneel...but after Phantom Lord he seems to lose motivation (there’s that word again) in favor of just doing whatever at the guild. Now I’m not saying every single arc Natsu should be out looking, but the fact that after Phantom Lord, Igneel isn’t really mentioned again until Eclipse poses a very large problem for Natsu as a character and the story as a whole.
Even when given a new goal (that of killing Acnologia) he still meanders around until the final fight to put the guild back together.
With a goal so concrete in his mind, it would only make sense for the story to form around this idea and have arcs centered on it, but it doesn’t so Natsu is left dicking around with nothing to do. But he’s not the only one with this problem.
Lucy: Arguably the best developed character in the series, she suffers from a lack of motivation very early on. It was established not long into the story that her goal after joining FT was to gather all the Zodiac Keys (and finish her novel but that was never all that important and more of a character quirk). It wasn’t as pronounced as Natsu’s goal was, but it was progressing further than his. She already had Aquarius, Cancer, and Taurus before the story began, she acquired Sagittarius as early as the second storyline after the Everlue job, helping Loke gained her his Leo key, beating Angel during the Oracion Seis arc granted her the Gemini Twins and Scorpio, and Loke defeating Caprico helped Lucy regain her mother’s Capricorn key (which she was originally supposed to have anyway).
Her goal seemed attainable...until the GMG (This arc was responsible for A LOT of FT’s problems, but that’s a post for another day). Yukino presents Lucy the chance to complete her goal by offering the remaining zodiac keys, but Lucy refuses.
Now her reasoning is sound enough, being a CS wizard herself she knows how important the bond between a spirit and their wizard is and wouldn’t feel right breaking that up. That is fine and speaks to Lucy’s character, but the problem arises in that there is nothing for her to do after this moment. You could argue that her new goal is finding Aquarius’ new key but that is established so late into the story that it’s pretty much moot (even the sequel hasn’t done much with it at this point).
Happy: Never really had any long lasting motivation outside of what Natsu wanted. Moving on.
Gray: Probably one of the biggest wastes of potential in the series when it comes to rival/best friend characters, Gray almost immediately stagnated after Galuna Island. His mission of “killing” Deliora done. He was aimless until literally Tartaros when he met Silver, after which his motivation became “Kill END” and we all know how that ended.
Erza: Has pretty much the same problem as Gray, but worse. After her issues in the Tower of Heaven were solved, she was pretty much done for the rest of the series. Any significant change that could have been brought to her character was swiftly tossed aside in order to keep the status quo and she became a shell of herself as early as Tenrou Island. A mere two arcs later.
Wendy: Probably the most developed character after Lucy (in my opinion) she was both blessed and cursed by having her issues resolved in the same arc she was introduced. After that, she pretty much integrates into the guild immediately and seems to have no goals other than “get stronger” and “be less clumsy”. Both are admirable, but nothing worthy enough to justify her being a main character.
Compare FT’s main cast to that of One Piece or My Hero Academia’s. Now you can argue that a lot of the characters in both these series aren’t well developed, but the one thing both Oda and Horikoshi excel at over Mashima is that their main characters have goals that can be carried throughout the series and, characters with less broad goals don’t overstay their welcome. They do what they are introduced to do and leave soon after.
In OP, the main goal of the story has always been finding the titular treasure. It’s a defined goal, but also broad enough to carry the characters throughout the entire series.
Luffy’s goal is to find the One Piece, but not only is the story framed around this idea, Luffy’s crew is as well. Zoro wants to become the world’s strongest swordsman, an easy way to do that is travelling the world and defeating strong opponents. Nami wants to map the entire world, best way to do that is travelling it. Usopp wants to be a “brave warrior of the sea”. He does that by doing various feats across the world and building his legend. Sanji wants to find the All Blue, Chopper wants to be the world’s best doctor, Robin wants to find the Poneglyphs and learn the world’s dark history, Franky wants to create the world’s best ship, Brook wants to reunite with Laboon after travelling the world, and Jinbei wants peaceful coexistence between Fishmen and humans.
With the possible exception of Jinbei, everyone’s goals (while vastly different) center around and are bolstered by Luffy’s search for One Piece. Helping him in turns helps them, its mutually beneficial and thus creates a group of characters who are together because they want to be, not because they have to. They want to see each other succeed and feel like actual friends (instead of yelling about friendship every five minutes while being massive dicks to each other)
Other characters who have arcs that are resolved leave before overstaying their welcome. Vivi is a prime example. She stayed with the straw hats long enough to reclaim her country from Crocodile, and then she was gone. Her arc was done, so there was no real reason for her to stay. She would only stagnate.
In MHA, all of Class 1-A share the same goal of wanting to be pro heroes, but all have their own motivations that go a bit deeper than that. Both Deku and Bakugou want to be as great as All Might, Todoroki wants to spite his father, Uraraka wants to make enough money as a pro for her family to live comfortably, and Iida wants to live up to his brother’s example just to name a few.
Since Deku is the main character the story focuses a lot on his personal journey to the top, but other notable characters get their shine when needed.
Even Naruto built its story about Naruto becoming Hokage from the very first chapter.
Bringing all of this back to FT. None of the main characters have any established motivation, and if they do the story either isn’t structured around it (Natsu), Drops it entirely (Lucy), or finishes it and proceeds to do nothing else with the character (Gray, Erza, and Wendy).
It’s not like Mashima is incapable of writing motivated characters. Rave Master’s main cast had various different motivations that either carried them through the series, or evolved over the course of time.
People called FT a ripoff of OP in its early stages (a comparison I still don’t quite understand), but maybe Mashima could have leaned a bit on Oda’s story structure.
Have the story actually center around Natsu’s main goal of searching for Igneel. Have him ask questions and going on jobs based on leads he had found, taking him (and his team) on various locales across the world. Build up the continent and its history with the dragons.
He could even leave the story for an arc or two, giving a side character (like Levy, Cana, Juvia, Mirajane, Lisanna or Elfman) a bit of time in the spotlight to develop their own stories along with the main cast.
Change him over time to be a more single minded character post-Tartaros. Have him ignore bringing the guild back together in order to find Acnologia, which would cause tension between him and his friends and add more weight to the END turn as his obsession grows.
If Lucy no longer wants the Zodiac keys, why not have her new goal be earning enough money to buy back her family’s home and land? Its a lofty goal to be sure, but it would add a little more weight to her desperation to go on a job other than “I need to pay rent”. It still amazes me that Lucy is supposedly came from a very influential family in terms of industry in Fiore, but no one recognized her name. They have a railroad named after them for God’s sake. Do something with that. Does she not have an inheritance?
Gray is a little harder to pin down since most of his character is tied to Deliora and with him gone there isn’t much for him to do. SO if you don’t want to phase him out, you could evolve his motivation from killing Deliora, to finding Ultear. Have Lyon or someone (possibly even Jellal in Tower of Heaven) mention that Ultear is still alive. Gray’s mission would be looking for her in order to make amends, which would lead to their fight on Tenrou, to which after his goal could once again evolve into defeating Zeref for creating Deliora in the first place, leading to the fight with Natsu.
Erza is simple enough. She is heralded as Fairy Tail’s strongest woman, so why not have her actually lean into that and try to become a wizard saint? The near death experience would have spurned her choice, leading to an arc explaining the saints and how to become one. Erza could fail to be accepted (something she never seems to do post-Tenrou) and the rest of the story could be her working up towards that goal, and in a change of pace you could KEEP HER AS GUILD MASTER.
One of Fairy Tail’s biggest problems is its unwillingness to change. Everything and everyone just sticks to the status quo and the story suffers all the more for it.
Keeping Erza as master changes the entire dynamic of the team because the story would have to phase Erza out and put someone else in (again either Juvia, Cana, Elfman, or some other notable side character).
Wendy’s motivations could be the same as Natsu’s, finding her dragon. Her relationship with Grandeeney is arguably as strong as Natsu’s with Igneel so her joining him on his jobs wouldn’t be much a stretch. You could even add Gajeel for an arc if you wanted. Three dragonslayers and three exceeds.
I say all that to say that one of Fairy Tail’s most frustrating aspects is its refusal to realize the potential of its characters. There is so much to do in this world, so much lore and information imparted onto the audience, but the characters (and the author) seem to not care the least bit about it. They say they will do something, but don’t and that to me is worse than doing nothing at all.

FEATURE: How Roger, Oden, and Whitebeard Create the Powerful Myths of One Piece
Tumblr media
Mythology serves a variety of purposes. It's often tied to the spirituality of a culture, driving many of their morals and aspirations. It's also extremely foundational when it comes to storytelling. If you read, say, Greek or Japanese myth, you'll find countless influences in how we approach narratives today, ranging from the backbones of many classic character arcs to little tidbits that provide chances for modern adaptation or homage. One Piece is full of these, with manga creator Eiichiro Oda often basing characters and creatures on examples of Japanese historical figures or legends of folklore.
But perhaps more consuming than that is the way the series deals with its own mythology, something that goes beyond simple backstory and lore and functions, really, in the same way mythology works in the real world. This is on display during the current anime storyline, which deals with the grand journey of Kozuki Oden, samurai, traveler, father, and traditional very tall One Piece dude. He's a man whose legend pervades through the society of Wano, with the current storyline mostly built upon his broad shoulders. The stories told about him, from his monstrous feats as a child to his sea-spanning adventures as an adult feel very much like something you'd see from the tales of a demi-god — Herculean tasks that are less about fleshing out a character and more about building their status in the story.
Tumblr media
Before we can jump into that, though, I think it's important to dive into the greatest myth of all in One Piece — that of Gol D. Roger, whose exploits, demise, and proclamation that set a new age into action are the source of both One Piece fact and fiction. Though we've learned a little more over the course of the story, most of Roger's life is steeped in mystery, and we're forced to rely on those that knew him, a dying breed of aged pirates that includes men like Silvers Rayleigh and Whitebeard, to relate the stories of his life.
As with Oden, the thingswe learn don't add up to a three-dimensional figure, but rather a consistently important and unknowable one. It's likely why Roger's legacy as King of the Pirates remains so valuable, with kids like Monkey D. Luffy so eager to assume the crown themselves. It's why him saying he left his treasure in "one piece" and you can go look for it if you want sets off innumerable pirate careers. Roger IS the culture of the Grand Line, the idea that the world can be yours if you only set off to take it. Much more than any man could be.
Tumblr media
The ideology that Roger represents is everywhere. Blackbeard saying that a man's dreams don't die reflects Roger pushing for the next generation to have similar ideals to him moments before his execution. Luffy showing Wapol and Chopper that you can't just destroy a pirate's flag is similar. Heck, when Robin yells "I want to live!" it isn't just Robin realizing her life is worth experiencing and relishing, but her also adopting Roger's mantra. The mythology behind Roger is all-encompassing in its scope.
When it comes to Wano, Oden's role is similar. The samurai that remain dedicated to him and his mission speak of him less as a fallible person but as someone they were blessed to even encounter. Yasuie, shot by Orochi's forces, died so that Oden's will would continue. His son dreams of fulfilling his role and replicating his bravery. The man that, like Roger, smiled and flexed in the face of danger, has gone beyond being an ancient personality to defining the desires of his world. We speak of him in grand fashion, where his huge deeds matter more than any inner monologue or intricate characterization. To the characters around him, Oden IS the definition of a hero.
Tumblr media
All of this indicates that the pressure of the Navy and the World Government is much more malicious than simply "We must eliminate all pirates" threats. Rather, characters like Akainu seek to overhaul society itself, bringing the beliefs and hopes of a massive group of people to ruin so they can effectively rebuild with their own ideals in mind. The intended public beheading of Ace was more than just a high-profile execution but a statement to the world that the Marines would not let the next generation of pirating stand. It was them trying to ensure that their values would not be passed on and that they could rewrite mythology with them as the victors, with them as the ones who inspired the world to order.
The stories of men like Oden and Roger and the all-encompassing quest of the World Government and other villains to evaporate them turn One Piece's mythology into more than just online encyclopedia fodder. It dictates what people believe, what they hold as their truths, and what tales they think are worth telling. It creates culture.

Lets look into Stampede
Hello everyone! I’m here again for another Theory Theory no mi!
I’m so excited about the upcoming Big War in One piece so I keep on looking to other clues about it.
Yesterday I finished watching One Piece Stampede movie. I believe in this movie, they gave us a little bit of a glimpse of the upcoming big war. Since Oda is the Creative Producer of the film and he often spoiled anime creators, I decided to look on to it and create another theory theory no mi!
Note: This post is full of spoilers. Read at your own risk.
Here we go!
Tumblr media
The movie takes place during the Pirates Festival, "made by pirates, for pirates", where pirates all over the world, including some of its most infamous ones. We also saw the Navy and Revolutionary Army come’s in this Festival.
Lets look for some more clues.
Tumblr media
Sanji, Robin, Brook, Chopper with Law went into a secret mission.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nami knows where the treasure it and point it to Luffy. Luffy and Zoro went down on the ship to find and fight for it.
Tumblr media
Zoro advised Luffy to go on ahead, then he fights all the enemies going after Luffy.
Tumblr media
A reunion between Robin and Crocodile.
Tumblr media
One of the straw hat, Usopp in particular getting hurt.
Tumblr media
This is an interesting one since I’m very curios of the 3 triggers on One Piece. Luffy advised Zoro to take care of the Sunny. In short he went back to Nami.
Tumblr media
Then Straw Hat Grand fleet comes to their aid. Zoro advised them to come with him.
Tumblr media
The enemy wants to be the worlds strongest. Ring a bell here?
Tumblr media
Now we see Zoro leading the Straw Hat Grand Fleet into battle.
Tumblr media
Franky and specially Nami backing up Zoro and protecting Sunny. Nami is always on the ship and never went down in the battle.. Hmm..
Tumblr media
A Navy, a Revolutionary army and Pirates fighting against one enemy.
Tumblr media
Crocodile helping Luffy again. I know we will see him again in the Big War.
Tumblr media
CP-0 helping Luffy?!
Tumblr media
They are helping each other. Hahaha! I can’t stop laughing when Buggy was also transported here. He didn’t do anything. Hahahaha!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Usopp greatest role as a sniper.
Tumblr media
I just want to share that this is my favorite scene. I really love it.
Tumblr media
Aren’t we Luffy.
In the end they defeated the enemy.
So what we got.
1. Navy, Revolutionary Army and Pirates fighting the one enemy together.
2. Zoro leading Straw Hat alliance. Nami backing her up and she points out where the treasure is.
3. Usopp assisting the team with his skill as a sniper.
4. Luffy of course having the weight on his shoulder in defeating the enemy.
There you have it! Remember, this is just a theory.
Until then! God bless you all!

Youkai AU
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After Harry Potter AU, Figure Skating AU and the April Fools Taishou Stray Dogs AU, you might be thinking "Not again" right? Hah, as if i can be stopped!
Now I bring a youkai AU!
Let me be clear that I am no expert when it comes to Japanese mythology; any erroneous information you may read was made for artistic liberty. I did my best to research, but in the end I cannot hide that my biggest influences were Nurarihyon no Mago, Noragami, xxxHolic, and Natsume Yuujinchou. Since I’ve also read Lafcadio Hearn's Kwaidan: Stories and Studies of Strange Things, I may have also included elements that were directly taken from the stories in its pages.
Although the idea’s been stewing at the back of my head since forever, this post was written after being greatly inspired by this upcoming set of buraiha goods (1) (2). Now I'm not sure if they'll be selling other characters fitting in with this theme, but no matter what, I wanted a world where ADA will be mostly humans since major conflicts in these sorts of stories involve clashes between youkai and humans. Although at times, meddlesome gods step in~~
Unlike my other AUs which tried to keep Atsushi as the "hero" of the story, this time the main conflict centers around... Ranpo! Is it surprising? Believe me, even I was amused that this was where the direction went while I was brainstorming. I do think it's fitting though, as ADA was originally formed to give Ranpo a safe space to use his intellect as a means to help investigate criminal activities.
EDIT: Funny because after making this post, BONES posted this.
And with that, the characters!
Dazai Osamu
— A bandaged man traveling across the nation offering his services as an onmyouji. The truth is, he's half-human, half-youkai —the product of a raunchy one-night stand between a drunken Aomori official and a powerful youko on her way to becoming a Tenko. The Inari Kami who were waiting for the entry of another Tenko raged and forcibly took away the kitsune's hoshi no tama (a kitsune’s life force), draining her of her power and eventually her life. Their offspring would soon be raised by Mori, still a minor deity at the time. Despite not being a fullblooded youkai, Dazai can manifest up to 5 tails . He also has white fur, usually associated with a kitsune who achieved 8 to 9 tails. Dazai can not only drive out spirits and spiritual entities, he can also manifest in the dreams of others, take flight, become invisible and create illusions. He can blend in with humans even in daylight, although he cannot possess them. Under Mori he was a scary youkai who inspired awe and respect, but now he's just a freeloader in Ranpo's shrine, spending his days drinking sake and irritating Kunikida. Usually he is in control of his human appearance, but would sometimes expose himself especially when rattled by the presence of dogs.
Oda Sakunosuke — A half-human, half-youkai with doglike features. On certain days, at a certain mountaintop, he would drink sake and enjoy a feast with his good friends Dazai and Ango. Despite being an inugami, Oda never made Dazai feel threatened in his presence. And although not someone of influence or power, he was known throughout the Kansai region for being a kind youkai who wouldn’t senselessly kill even if his father used to be a feared dai-youkai. Oda loved humans and embraced both their good and bad natures, but this love would turn out to be the reason for his demise. He openly opposed children sacrifices, and thus earned the ire of a few gods. Mori, newly appointed as a god of death and disease, told Oda he would spare him his life if he would offer five orphan children to appease the offended gods. Oda refused and was consequently killed. Dazai would later realize that Mori planned everything to please the gods and secure his place.
Sakaguchi Ango — A half-human, half-youkai with raccoon-like features. On certain days, at a certain mountaintop, he would drink sake and enjoy a feast with his good friends Oda and Dazai.  Hailing from Shikoku, he journeyed to the mainland under the orders of a dai-youkai named Taneda. Like Oda, he is considered an oddball because he takes more interest in texts and records left behind by humans. As a bakedanuki, he can perform a heritage technique which stirs up leaves around the area, allowing him to trap opponents within a spiral of leaves. Although Ango himself is not aware of this, his reports to Shikoku allowed Mori the needed information to get rid of Oda. Because of this, his friendship with Dazai soured. Ango was last seen in the capital, accompanying a group of onmyouji.
Edogawa Ranpo — A survivor of the the Great Fire of Meireki. Not only was he left orphaned and without a home, he was also ostracized after revealing it was a well-known monk who accidentally started the fire by cremating an allegedly cursed kimono. He was accused of slander. Chased out by the angry Edo people, he ended up passing out in front of a run-down shrine for a local deity. As Ranpo's parents were the deity's fervent followers, the deity took him in. Bored of the world and wanting to live the rest of his days in peace and solitude, he passed on his divinity to Ranpo. As a new deity, Ranpo has much to learn. Because he is strongwilled and has no filter, he gets in trouble not only with youkai but also with his fellow deities. In addition, his scent is tempting to all sorts of supernatural creatures.Thankfully, he manages to form a household that will defend him and help him become the best deity he can be!
Fukuzawa Yukichi — A ronin who once took part in the Keian Uprising. He is a man concerned not only with the state of disgruntled samurai families he had once wished to champion, but also enlightenment, exercise of liberty, impartial justice, and the overall betterment of people's lives. Living as a ronin, he grew to become more and more jaded through the years. Upon meeting Ranpo and developing fatherly feelings towards this kid he viewed as similar to a newly-hatched duckling, he decided to be his protector, not knowing then that Ranpo was recently made a deity. Fukuzawa has no spiritual awareness, but he possesses a natural barrier that makes youkai and other supernatural creatures wary of him. His sword can cut through demons and even heavenly beings; Fukuzawa was previously unaware of this, saying he just found it at the shrine of the god of felines and fortune.
Nakajima Atsushi — An amnesiac foreign youkai Dazai claimed he found while he was trying to drown himself in the river. He is an interesting case; spirits and demons usually don't stray far away from their land of birth not only because it naturally weakens them, but also because land demons can't cross seas as they will only end up as prey for waiting ayakashi and underwater demons. However, Atsushi's weretiger form is still very much powerful and can rival even the most well-known cat/cat-like youkai of their land. Interested in Atsushi and wanting to raise him into becoming a proper youkai, Dazai decides to make the confused boy his apprentice. Can only transform into a full tiger when the moon's out. His favorite food is the chazuke served by the inn nearest to Ranpo's shrine.
Kunikida Doppo — A scholar deeply indebted to Fukuzawa. Not only is he well-educated, he also trains in martial arts and wants Fukuzawa to be his teacher when it comes to the way of the sword. Ranpo deduces he has talent when it comes to driving out spirits, so he was also forced to diligently train as an onmyouji under Dazai. Kunikida's preferred method of fighting supernatural entities are through the use of ofuda (paper talismans). He can use them for purification and to bind weaker youkai. Usually he carries blank papers and ink with him, which is a hassle but something he’s gotten used to. Though at first he was scared of the unknown, he's starting to become unfazed by all the unbelievable things that usually comes their way. He is friends with a man nicknamed "zashiki warashi" because said friend won't leave his home, as well as an actual zashiki warashi who wants to make him notice her. The one in charge of the household's expenses.
Yosano Akiko —Came from another province and has a somewhat infamous reputation in her hometown for beating up her would-be harassers to the point they had to lock themselves in jail to escape her. Her family are longtime friends of the Edogawas, so she rushed to check up on them as soon as she heard about the great fire in Edo. After learning about Ranpo's fate, she chose to stay and act as a priestess for his shrine. Although Yosano didn't mean for it to happen, she became endowed with mystical healing powers after being possessed by a lake demoness Dazai scorned. After getting used to her newfound ability, she would end up terrorizing the rest of the household by asking sweetly if they wanted to help her practice her healing. (Nobody ever volunteers.)
Tanizaki Junichirou — A cowardly young man who came to Ranpo's shrine asking for him to bless their home since he thinks there are malevolent spirits after his younger sister Naomi. What he doesn't want to admit to himself is that his sister Naomi is the spirit, as she died during the Great Fire of Meireki. Bursting with unusually high spiritual energy, Tanizaki wrecked havoc in his village to the point that Dazai had Atsushi transform to stop him. After accepting the reality of his sister's death and showing remorse for his actions, Tanizaki was ordered by Ranpo to join his household, taking in the roles of being the shrine groundskeeper and the deity's personal errandboy.
Naomi — A beautiful girl who met an untimely death. Her brother's grief attracted evil forces to his side and almost turned the both of them into vengeful youkai. After her purification she was able to become a roaming spirit. As she is unable to cross to the land of the dead yet, she naturally chose to stick by her brother's side. Everyone can see Naomi but Fukuzawa.
Miyazawa Kenji — A young farmer boy from ◯ mountain. He possesses supernatural strength and an extremely suspect knowledge about youkai and how to ward them off. According to Dazai though, he is 100% human. He came down from ◯ mountain to give offerings to Ranpo's predecessor, but ended up taking residence near Ranpo's shrine to tend to a rice paddy which was the previous home of a hostile youkai. No one dares cross him when he's hungry.
Izumi Kyouka — Her mother was a yuki onna who was killed by a traveling onmyouji from the capital. Ozaki took her in and taught her to be distrustful of humans. Eventually, Kyouka became convinced that embracing her human side would only bring her suffering. After she got separated from Ozaki's demon parade, she got lost and was found by a bunch of bandits. Scared and remembering Ozaki's words, she killed everyone by freezing them to death. News about her spread and she was hunted, eventually being caught by Atsushi. He hid her in Ranpo's household and taught her that not all humans were bad. When Ozaki located her and tried to get her back, Kyouka said she wished to stay in the world of light. Has a black hole for a stomach, increasing Kunikida's worries about their household expenses.
Mori Ougai —  Started out as a minor deity of healing. During the Heian period, he managed to overthrow a major god by gaining a sizable following after saving the life of a man who would later become the head of the influential Minamoto clan. He's now a god of death and disease and is able to freely travel across the land of humans, the dwelling place of the gods, and the underworld. Hundreds of lesser demons are under his command. He took in Dazai some hundred years ago because he thought he could use him to gain access to the Scrolls of Heaven. Over time, he grew to fear that he will suffer the same fate as his predecessor and sought to drive Dazai out.
Elise — She takes on the appearance of a little girl, and is a mysterious being who originated from the West. No one knows how Mori came to be acquainted with her or why he decided to make her his familiar.
Ozaki Kouyou — A descendant of Kiyohime, she blinds men and youkai alike with her resplendent appearance, her ornate robes hiding her golden tail. It must be the curse of their line to fall in love with a human they cannot be with, as Ozaki's lover was killed in battle before they could run away south. Ozaki is one of Mori's more devout followers, and was disappointed when Kyouka chose to stay with Ranpo's household instead of returning back to her. She is in command of over a hundred oni and youkai.
Nakahara Chuuya — A kitsune who is only a few decades older than Dazai. Celebrated as the most beautiful kitsune born in the current millennium, he is fond of using his powers of flight and levitation to show off. Though not mischievous in nature as the other kitsune, sometimes he shapeshifts into either a beautiful man or woman to seduce powerful corrupt figures and punish unfaithful lovers. However, Chuuya is hotheaded and does not think things through, leading to Dazai fooling him into handing over his hoshi no tama. Before giving it back, Dazai extracted a promise from Chuuya that the latter will come to his aid whenever and whereever he called for him. As a result of this, he dreams of killing Dazai so he can finally be free of the promise. Another one of Mori's commanders, but more attached to Ozaki. Sometimes mistaken for a bakaneko.
Akutagawa Ryuunosuke —He was a sickly child whose body was used as a vessel to create an inugami. As such, he was raised in the family's storage room chest together with his sister. However, it turned out the family didn't follow the ritual and messed up, making the siblings unstable and feral. At first, they were only disobedient and would occasionally bite members of the family when hungry. But they turned more violent over the following weeks, with the head of the family deciding to put them down. The mix of hatred, pain and anger wrapped itself around Akutagawa and gave him immense spiritual power, allowing him to control a black beast he named Rashomon. Aktuagawa killed everyone in that family before being found by Dazai, who at that time was still under Mori. As a kitsune naturally hated the presence of dogs, he was extra harsh while training Akutagawa. After Dazai left Mori, Akutagawa rose up the ranks to make a name for himself. Since Akutagawa’s parents sold him and his sister for a bag of silver, he hates humans and thinks their greed knows no bounds.
Gin — Akutagawa's younger sister. She was a healthy child, but offered herself as a vessel because she couldn't stand seeing her brother suffer alone. Thanks to the incomplete ritual, she was left completely mute.
Hirotsu — A karasu tengu who valiantly guards Mori’s main temple. He once served the war god Mori sent to be permanently imprisoned in the underworld.
Higuchi Ichiyou — A miko who helps manage one of Mori's temples. A deep impression was left on her after witnessing Akutagawa make quick work of the demons who wanted to eat her.
Jiido — A fallen samurai who was betrayed by his own master. Because of his prowess in battle, he became an executioner for a circle of gods. Oda freed him from this miserable duty, although at the cost of his own life.
Notes:
— Dazai's backstory mostly takes inspiration from Abe no Seimei's.
— The setting is in Edo, during the Meireki Era. In a youkai AU, most people would want to place characters in the Heian Period, but I wanted this AU to be a little different.
—  "If you eat a god you can possess their divinity" is a famous saying amongst youkai, but this claim has yet to be proven. Gods and deities do smell wonderful for youkai though.
— Since I'm not gonna be writing this story anyway, I imagine Ranpo having to come to terms with the fact that his friends will grow old and eventually die. He'd be left behind again. And he can't do anything about it, as rejecting his divinity means he has to pass it down to someone else. His body has only started accepting the divine energy, so if it's removed before his body can properly adjust, he’d be destroyed from the inside out. Dazai guessed he'd need to wait at least 25 years before he could safely pass his divinity on. And so one of the other sideplots is finding the whereabouts of the local god who came before Ranpo.
—  Mori could have been a demon, but that would be expected so I made him a god. He'd just be as cunning and ruthless, but this time he'll also be more ambitious as he plans to unite Japan's youkai under him without the other gods taking notice. Ranpo's growing following grabs his attention and after learning that Dazai joined Ranpo's household... Well...
—  RIP Oda, but since there's a way to cross to the land of the dead, maybe Dazai can see him again...?
— Notables gods like Amaterasu, Izanagi, Izanami, Susanoo and Tsukuyomi do exist in this AU, but they're unconcerned with the squabbles of everyone else. Gods, humans, demons — it's all the same to beings as powerful as them. They all have access to the Scrolls of Heaven, something which Mori greatly desires.
— ...Akutagawa could have been a kappa.

What up y’all it’s time for me to die bc it’s Dragon Mythos Night.
As one can easily imagine, Dragnor’s oral and written traditions are full of stories and ties to dragons. Over time it expanded to encompass a different tale for each evolutionary line. The oldest legends all agree that the first dragons were the embodiment of storms: thunder and lightning and wind and rain made flesh.
While the people of Dragnor do eat various types of meat, the consumption of any dragon Pokémon is considered taboo and is punishable by law. Collecting parts of a dragon ( scales, fangs, or claws ) is a protected right of Warriors and others who work closely with a dragon in its lifetime. Medicines are often made from dragon parts, the acquiring of which is heavily monitored and voluntary on the dragon’s part.
While this is not an extensive list of all full/partial Dragon Pokémon, it is a full list of Dragnor’s myths. Some Pokémon, such as the legendary Dragon types, would be unheard of in Ransei. Others, such as the Jangmo-o line, simply have not yet been transported to the region.
Dratini/Dragonair/Dragonite
The Dratini line are descended from the clouds. They symbolize patience and wisdom, and it is said that in order to link with them once must be pure of thought and deed. Dratini are often associated with healing and medicine. Any doctor of repute has at least one member of the evolutionary line staying in his place of practice.
Deino/Zweilous/Hydreigon
Deino’s line are the true children of storms. Lightning birthed them, and as such in order to link with them one must possess the strength of will to necessary to survive being struck by something so volatile. Hydreigon are revered as powerful deities capable of summoning storms and defeating entire armies on their own. As Nobunaga’s partner, they came to represent the unstoppable might of Dragnor itself.
Noibat/Noivern
Noibait and Noivern come from the shadowed face of the moon. They are cunning, and a symbol to all who admire wealth. Those who link with them are versatile and able to withstand life’s hardships. Noibat are used in lieu of bird Pokémon as messengers, as they are able to fly longer and faster and have low-light vision. When Tsuchida was Warlord, they represented the strength and unity of Dragnor and its people.
Magikarp/Gyarados
Gyarados are the gods of rivers. Waterways in Dragnor are kept clean almost solely so Magikarp and Gyarados are unbothered by pollution or filth. Magikarp ponds ( reminiscent of real life koi ponds ) are a fixture of every homestead and castle. Streams and manmade water paths kept separate from the irrigation systems connect the ponds to rivers so the Magikarp may find a waterfall and evolve. Warriors who link with a Magikarp are destined for greatness. Those who link with Gyarados are unmatched in strength.
Bagon/Shelgon/Salamance
Bagon and its evolutions were the original bridge between the land and sky. Over time their bodies and bones became Dragnor’s many cliffs their decedents now come from. One who bonds with any of the three has or will experience personal growth that makes them a better and stronger person. Salamance was the partner of Oda Nobuhide, and under his rule they came to represent solidarity and the fruition of hard labors.
Axew/Fraxure/Haxorus
Haxorus and its previous stages hail from under the earth. It was their rumblings that grew the mountains and mines they now inhabit. Most mine owners with the ability to link will have done so with a member of the Axew line. All mines regardless of their owner’s ability to link with Pokémon will have several of any of the three Pokémon in residence, and they will often aid in evacuation/rescue should emergencies occur. Those who can link with the evolution line are blessed in life with both wealth and wellness.
Gible/Gabite/Garchomp
Gabite and Garchomp are the original dragons to fight alongside men. It is said that the first Warriors linked solely with the Gible line and that they are the ones to have taught mankind to fend for themselves. Any person with the ability to link to this line is garnered a certain measure of respect. They represent sheer, undiluted power and that of those who link with them.
Goomy/Sliggoo/Goodra
Goomy and its line were the first to bring rain from the sky to the earth. They are responsible for good harvests and bountiful fishing. Goodra in particular is a symbol of fertility and motherhood. Warriors with links to the line are adaptable to any situation. Dragnor is home to two bogs, each of which are protected as a sanctuary from hunting as they home the evolution line.
Altaria
Altaria is born from clouds that obscure the moon and sun. Warriors who link with Altaria are shrewd and keen of mind. Altaria are prized as hunters, and many of the Dragnor nobility have access to private flocks. Dragnor’s military keeps several with each battalion as both a resource for hunting food and delivering messages.
Druddigon
Druddigon were the ones to move the sun so its light shone on the land, as well as being responsible for carving out the caves that dot the mountains. They are among the most revered of the dragon species. Links with Druddigon are rare, and show that a Warrior will make an excellent leader. Many of Dragnor’s past Warlords went out of their way to form a link to a Druddigon as a show of worth before the elections became common place. They and the Warriors who link with them are highly sought after by the military and are often put on the front lines as generals.
Kingdra
Where Gyarados are the gods of the rivers, Kingdra are the gods of the sea. Regardless of if they fish on the rivers or the ocean, Dragnor ships will have one or two Kingdra on board as both a safety measure and a way to draw fish to their nets. The whirlpools they create are used to either aid fishing or as a tactical maneuver in battle. Links with Kingdra show aptitude in battle and ability to defend the home.

BROTHER SAMSON AND SISTER DEBBIE’S STORY CONTINUES
"Find  your lost key", Sister Debbie said.
Our  church in d island organised a special program 4 d singles...afta d program a  sista approached me for counselling, I had 2 excuse "mai" lord so as  2 attend 2 her...we walked 2 a corner within d church premises, dia we  discussed.  "Sorry 2 disturb u aunty" she said.  "It is my pleasure", I said.  "My name is Feyisere", she said.  "Uhm! It's nice knowing u. My name is Debbie", I said.  "Oh, I know u. I am a memba of dis church, but when I finished my skul  & job is not forthcoming, 1 of my niece asked my parent if I can come  with her so as 2 be assisting her in her buz & taking kia of d children.  And I left with her last year" Feyi said.  "Oh, sorry, I dont think I have ever come across u", I said.  ""Eegun mọni, enia ni ko mọ eegun", sometimes if not all d  times, you our leaders do not know us, your followers & membas,  particularly when such a person is not an officer in d church", Feyi  said.  "Thats true. It is easy 4 people 2 know officers but d silent ones, it  is not easy 4 us 2 know such pp", I said.  "I  have a little problem ma, which I need ur counsel on bc u r educated, older  than me, a Believer & by God's grace engaged to a responsible brother in  the church", she said.  "May  God solve all our problems in Jesus name. May He also guide us into His light  and truth in Jesus name" I said.  "Amen"  Feyi said.  "Okay.  I am listening", Debbie said.  "Be4  I left d Island abt 8 moons ago, I have a male friend in dis church, broda  Johnny, we were close friends. Infact people think we were engaged then, but  there was nothing like dat btw us then. He is a principled person & I  know he is a christian. I entered institution of Higher learning b4 him &  graduated b4 him...However, dis does not stop our friendship &  interactions with each oda within d campus, d church & at d  neighbourhood"...I, miss Debbie, was attentively listening 2 her as she  continued.  "So,  dis relationship continued even afta our graduation...Afta our graduation, we  were searching 4 jobs but when it is not readily coming, he afta listening 2  a lecture 4m your spouse, evangelist Samson, he also decided 2 start  something, & he opened a barbing salon near one of d institutions gate in  d Island..."  "Okay,  I think I know d broda now because "mai" lord told me of a broda  who came to him on where 2 establish a barbing salon sometimes ago...pls go  on my sista" Debbie said.  "Thank  u ma. That is d broda, bc he also briefed me abt d counsels of evangelist  Samson, your fiance, & all d assistances he rendered 2 him, financially  & otherwise, how he linked him up with some people in d area which  facilitated d establishment of d barbing salon near d institution's  gate", Feyi said.  "Oh!  That's nice of him" Debbie said.  "Few  days afta d estab of d salon, I left 4 other island with my neice...Weeks  afta, he proposed 2 me...A month afta his proposals I consented, and we were  having it nice on air talking daily...When I told my friends about this  development, they made me to understand dat men are unreliable and dat I shd  not have give in to him easily like dat, dat I shd have kept him in suspense  4 a while, b4 answering him, dey said he will abuse me & consider me  cheap...I was sorely sorry 4 myself on hearing dis, and I decided to start  playin games with him, I started hanky-panky with him...Whenever he calls, I  would not answer him, he will call severally before I answered, dat is if I  will answer at all...sometimes when I did not answer his call he will text  me, but I will not reply his texts too...Whenever I asnwered his call, I will  give excuses and reasons for not answering his initial calls...this has been  going on for sometimes now... But I have discovered that he has changed, he  neither text nor call me as before again, and to cap it up, when I arrived  two days ago, I arrived purposely because of him but, I discovered that he  has been cold towards me, even he was not as this cold when we were ordinary  friends... I felt unloved, I felt unwanted, I felt neglected... As I saw u  dis morning in d church I thank my stars dat u are around & dat u could  make dis program, and I decided on d spot of seeing u dat I wil discuss dis  issue with u, so dat u help me out", she enthused.  "Uhm!!!  Is dat all sista?" Debbie asked.  "That  is about all ma. Pls what do I do?" Feyi asked.  "I  thank God for dis avenue. Let me ask u dis? Do u love dis broda,  Johnny?" Debbie said.  "Yes,  I do". Feyi answered.  "Do  u think u can live d rest of your life with him?" Debbie asked.  "Yes  I can ma". Feyi answered.  "Having  resolved these, what I want to tell u is dat your mistake is that you are  imitating your friends on dis crucial issue of your life... You have failed  to know that individual persons have their own angels, what their angels can  condone, your angels may may not condone, what is working for them, may not  work for you bc u are created differently...  "...even  those people you call your friends may be christians, but they are different  from you and you are different from them and the way God deals with you  differs..."  "As  a christain who have prayed on the person you wanted to be engaged to and  having loved the person, you need not play hanky-panky with the person any  longer...or didnt you pray before consenting?" Debbie asked.  "I  prayed ma", Feyi replied.  "Having  prayed, and having gotten God's peace in your heart towards the person and  having loved the person unreservedly, you should not have bothered your head  about your friends' counsels again because they have misled you as it were  not. You should have just continued with the relationship, because in love there  is no fear", Debbie said.  "Okay  ma. What do I do now? How do I win him back?" Feyi asked.  "You  should search out the keys to your ertswhile friendship and the key you used  in unlocking the door of his heart's love. When you find these keys, and you  start using these keys, the near dead love he has developed for you in the  past weeks will be resurrected and things will return to normalcy, even if  the love is not hotter than before", Debbie said.  "Pls,  expantiate further", Feyi said.  "What  I am sayin is, what u were doing before that makes your friendship grow, what  you were doing before that make you fall heads over hills in love for each  other should be re-ignited again, when you start doing those things again,  within space of time, weeks, days, his love for you will come alive again and  you will be happy again", Debbie said. Kneeling down to thank her,  "thank  you ma, I will start doing that...I ought to leave on monday but I stay back  a while to play with him..", Feyi said.  "That  will be good. When you start doing those things ensure that you keep it up.  Be opened unto each other, as distance has separated you for a while now,  tell him your moves, let him know your steps ahead of time, do not assume  anything, do not say u will tell him afta u have done such thing, that means  u do not value his advice, dat means u do not consider him important in your  life and life's decisions and steps and when such happens another gap will be  created, he will have some reservations, he will not be able to open his  minds unto u again, he will not be willing to divulge impt decisions he also  want to make to you...and you also know dat discovering that someone u love  did not tell u or carried u along in his or her decision, u know how u feel?  One feels dejected, rejected, un-important. So to make him an important  person, u also need to carry him along in all u are doing or u wanted to do.  You have 2 start dis even before you are married..." As Debbie said dis,  she knelt down nodding her head...  "So  do this and other things that will make him happy and you wil discover that  brothers are not the same...brothers are different. Because "mai"  lord, I did not play hanky-panky with him since we start dating and so far so  good, everyone has loved our relationship, everyone has been blessing God for  us...We never allowed any communication gap let alone allow d enemies  entrance...even though i may grieved him sometimes, but I ensure that such is  resolved b4 I leave for bed dat day...and d same with him...so I have enjoyed  to the maximum dis relationship with "mai" lord...I also pray you  enjoy broda Johnny in Jesus name," Debbie said  "Amen",  Feyi said.  "Shall  we pray?" Debbie said...As they prayed together...
