plot: kenzie’s a cheerleader at uconn, and also paige’s gf!

“Let’s go, P!” Screamed Mackenzie as her cheered from the sidelines for her superstar girlfriend, Paige Bueckers. The two had been in a committed relationship for another 8 months now and were very much in love. They were public with their relationship, and the media seemed to eat it up. Paige dribbled the ball behind herself and shot the ball from where she was standing.

“And Bueckers shoots a three!” The sports broadcaster narrating the game exclaimed. Kenzie waved her poms high in the air. She loved hyping up the crowd and cheering for all the girls at Uconn, but of course she cheered just a little harder for her superstar girlfriend. The other team’s cheerleaders did not have the same enthusiasm for their team. Of course, there wasn’t much to cheer for; Uconn was beating the opposing team 26-48 and it seemed it would be an easy dub for them.

The girls on the other team seemed to be a little cocky, at least that was what Kenzie picked up from their mannerisms. Anytime someone from Uconn had the ball the girls rolled their eyes. They hadn’t trash talked or said anything bad verbally, though, which Kenzie and the rest of the cheerleaders were grateful for. Finally, it was 4th quarter. Uconn was still very much in the lead and both the other team’s basketball players and cheerleaders had all but given up. Kenzie tightened her bow and waved her poms up high, “Let’s go Uconn!” The other girls joined in and rallied with her, which in turn brought the crowd’s noise level up. Then a girl on the opposite cheer team said rather loudly, “Oh my god. Can she, like, shut up?” Kenzie rolled her eyes and brushed it off. She honestly couldn’t care less about what people had to say. She was a cheerleader, and she was going to cheer. She hadn’t gone D1 in cheerleading just to stand there.

The comment quickly rolled off Kenzie’s back and was forgotten about in a matter of a few minutes. In the last 30 seconds of the game, Kk passed the ball to Paige who shot it into the net. The crowd exploded and everyone cheered. The cheerleaders all rallied and did the chant they did everytime their school won a game. Everything was perfectly fine until Kenzie heard that same scratchy voice from the other side of the court. This time the yelling wasn’t directed at her though.

“Number 5 you suck,” the same girl from early shouted, her poms cupping her mouth in an attempt to make her voice louder. Kenzie was fed up. She threw her poms down and calmly walked to the other side of the gym. The girl who had shouted was staring at her blankly, and she walked right over to her.

The rest of the cheerleaders and even Paige and her team were staring to see what Mackenzie was going to do to this girl. “That girl better watch out,” said Nika. “Kenzie doesn’t play with people trash talking Paige.”

Nika couldn’t be more right, because as soon as Kenzie saw the girl she knew what she was going to do. She stood in front of the girl and slapped her across the face.

“What the fuck? What is wrong with you?!” One of the girl’s teammates asked. Paige quickly ran up to the altercation you’d caused and held you back before you could hit the girl any more.

“Don’t say shit about my girlfriend! You can say anything, whatever you want about me, I don’t care. But she works too hard to have someone talk about her like that!”

Paige held your arms and turned you around to face her. “Thank you baby, but you didn’t have to do that. We still beat their team, so it doesn’t matter.” Kenzie nodded at Paige then smiled, “Yeah, you’re right P. Let me go say sorry to her.” Paige smiled at this, happy she’d talked some sense into you. But her smile quickly faded when you walked back up to the girl and slapped her on the other cheek.

“And that one is for telling me to be quiet. I changed my mind, don’t say shit about me either.”

SOME ASSORTED THOUGHTS ABOUT THE TRAILER!! i watched it live because of course i did but i wanted to give myself a bit to think about it

- first of all, this is a given but AAAAUGH EVERYONE LOOKS SO GOOD!!! im so happy that there seems to be a bigger budget this time around! season 1 wasnt ugly by any means, but in terms of the human character designs it was lacking a bit stylistically and was a little stiff? this is probably just a me thing because i adore kore yamazakis art style a lot. but anyway, this time around the style is very clean and detailed, and is distinct from yamazakis style but in a way that works very well. the animation also seems to be higher quality. big hype

- the voices all fit really well! theyre pretty close to how i imagined them in my head. its hard to judge how close just based on a single line though. im looking forward to hearing more + hearing the dub voices (the japanese and english voices differ in my head too lmao)

i REALLY like this. i dont know much of anything about how the japanese language works, but what i think is happening here is that the language is vague enough that you cant determine whether its about oneself or another person, and so it has a double meaning? but i like it, it very clearly is about chise seeing herself in philomela and wanting to help her as a fellow victim of trauma, as well as wanting to see her gain the courage to help herself. it puts it very well what the main point of this arc is.

but, what immediately jumped out at me is that this is a very clear callback to one of the trailers for season 1.

Did you see the new Nier anime? I’m so happy to see the androids + Adam and Eve animated. Everyone is so beautiful and handsome. I really hope that makes more people come in the fandom. This anime is even adding things from the stage plays as well. It’s so fantastic.

I only saw a promo for it!!!!( ngl I first thought it was a fan-animation up until about a month ago) but if the anime is out now I didn't know, if the first ep is already out I will drop everything im doing to watch it rn like litterally. (Although I've wondered since I saw the promos if for english dubbed they'll keep the same VA such as Greg for Adam and ray for eve, specifically ray since he does a lot of anime dubs, I feel like that would be a cool thing)

From the videos and clips I saw the art is indeed beautiful and I feel that the artstyle and quality will draw more people in aside from being an anime. God I really hope it blows up a bit cause this fandom is suprisingly small for how iconic 2b is and The game generally, it definitely deserves an adaptation/more hype tbh.

OKAY. SO. TWO VERY POWERFUL SCENES: i watched both nami’s “help me” at arlong park and robin’s “i want to live” at enies lobby in both sub and dub just now…and for those two in particular. damn theyre actually ALL GOOD?? LIKE ALL REALLY WELL DONE?? although. my favorite dub moment by far. is robin’s “i want to live” in dub. her english voice is my fav compared to the sub by far. if you havent heard it i HIGHLY recommend you check it out like please. for me. literally gives me chills every. time.

tbh that is one of my only major issues with the live action. i actually prefer live action luffy (DONT KILL ME. ITS ONLY BY A LITTLE BIT. INAKI IS JUST SO WONDERFUL AND ITS A COOL ALTERNATE TAKE TO HIS CHARACTER. HE’S..NICER. MORE KIND? BUT NOT IN A WAY THAT I FEEL ERASES MANGA/ANIME LUFFY) tbh the live action tweaked each character a bit. nami is more serious and grumpy, zoro is WAY TOO EDGY?? (zoro is the one i was least happy with) and isnt boisterous nor does he laugh enough (esp for early/pre ts zoro) he does great with the action scenes though. usopp is the closest but he feels more like. suave about his lying whether than nervous? i dont mind it tho. jacob is great. taz is a good sanji but melontee once called him “chad british sanji” and now i cant get tht terrible phrase out of my head KJDNFKVN it really is a fun ride tho!!

what a freaking week this has been and it's only wedneday. i wanted to write in my journal about the wisdoms i uncovered today but there's too much that i felt that i should type.

when i say going through the motions i was going through it ALLLL like im over here excited and screaming and cheering under my blanket at almost 2 am as if i were court side of the actual game like when i tell you i was hype i was fucking HYPE. like seeing everyone’s abilities and going all in, and going into the zone was the most exciting and sexy thing ever. and my GOD EVERYONE LOOKED DELECTABLE. that’s another thing i also felt extreme levels of arousal esp watching akashi and aomine and kise like ADDNWJWWKEK i was fangirling so harddddd 😩😩😩😩😩 and the duos like ‘kashi + midorima or aomine + kise or AOMINE AND KAGAMI omg i ate it up and was licking my fingers bro.

literally no other transformation in the series could ever live up to not only the hype of the original ssj but also the heart-wrenching / raw emotion behind it like.

Goku going absolutely ballistic after seeing his best friend explode in front of him, assuming he will never be able to resurrect again? his anguished voice as he's telling frieza off for it too, god. I think the only other scream that the dub has done that actually gave me chills was actually in super, when goku is ssgss and is telling zamasu he would pay for killing chichi and goten. ofc there have been many years between those and ofc sean would have progressed after so long, its only right. ANYWAYS.

Dude, and not JUST that but. ssj 1 one is 10000000% the most aesthetically pleasing of the bunch, ESPECIALLY before the art style started going downhill.

HANDS DOWN the best transformation, with the best art a transformation has gotten, imo. im biased there, but yahknow.

also, the mugen train arc was also turned into episodes. essentially s2 was split into 2 parts. part 1 is the mugen train movie recap, part 2 is the actual new season.

they put the movie into episode format because not everyone could see the movie, but its the same stuff. except the first episode is bonus a bonus episode that isnt in the movie with rengoku to get to know his character.

so essentially, s2: 1. s2 mugen train, episode 1 2. mugen train in movie or episode format (i recommend movie format) 3. actual next arc s2 entertainment district

ALSO. there after credits scenes in the episodes, some of them are just silly goofs while others are actually. well, impactful to the characters id say and lets us understand them more. so i defo recommend those.

OK SO MY FAVS SO FAR: at the top of the list (unsurprisingly) ITS TANJIRO MY SWEET BOY AND SHINING STAR 😭🌟 im sorry i just have so much love in my heart for kindhearted, genuine characters and thats the core of who he is and he makes my heart so warm and soppy and the world both deserves him but also doesnt and hes just so oo o oo o ….. My tanjirogie 😞💚 ANOTHER FAV OF MINE IS ZENITSU! i love his crybabyisms and think hes such a nice mix of sweet and annoying and i always look forward to him being on screen :))) and hes definitely the character im most excited to see the progress of 100%. i also love his lil sparrow such a tiny lil guy eueueueu 😞🤍 also this isnt a specific character but i loved so many of the demons tanjiro faces and fights and i cried so so much watching s1 bc of their deaths. even ones i thought wouldnt get to me bc of their cruelties did and i just ended up sobbing hearing their stories bc its like tanjiro said, theyre such sad and hopeless beings and so often just victims to either circumstance or life as a whole and its just. god. theyre just so heartbreaking and getting to hear their backstories/getting glimpses of them at the end of every fight where they lost and were dying was one of if not my favourite part of the show. anyways because i am hateful here are some characters i hate (not bc theyre poorly written i just am bitter) FIRSTLY: the hashira can go fuck themselves 😒🖕 (shinobu and giyu are excluded from this my scrumblies) i hate their pretentiousness, i hate how they hurt nezuko and i hate how they are all major dicks despite their entire thing being to help people. SECONDLY: fuck muzan! i actually love his character and hes such an amazing villain but i burn with so much hatred towards him it isnt even funny i seriously want his head on a fawking sick 𝖍𝖊 𝖓𝖊𝖊𝖉𝖘 𝖙𝖔 𝖐𝖎𝖑𝖑 𝖍𝖎𝖒𝖘𝖊𝖑𝖋 𝖗𝖎𝖌𝖍𝖙 𝕹𝕰𝕺𝖂 . but he also kind of slays and every time hes on screen my eyes are glued hes suchhhh a good villain from the untouchability to the sometimes soft, often violent carefully crafted manipulation Hes Perfect. like i hate him but hes also amazing and one of the big reasons i love the story so much. speaking of the story, I LOVE IT SM! i havent spoken much about it yet but nezuko and tanjiro’s relationship means so much to me and i love getting to see them grow and having to relearn how to get to normal but also how nothing between them has changed at all, and how they love each other the exact same amount and way from then and how theyd always do anything to protect one another. its so so sweet to watch and an incredible motivation for the plot bc i am rooting for them so much too as the viewer not only because the characters themselves are so incredibly loveable and kind (bc they are) but also because its so Believable considering the world they live in and the character building of those two. tanjiro cares about her so much, lost everyone he loved to the guy who also turned his sister this way, and is so genuinely warmhearted like it just makes so much sense why he does all of this and i never blamed him for a moment why he pursues such a daunting goal. because it always, ALWAYS seems worth it. it always does. and making it so ur viewer understands the point and motivations of the mc and plot, now thats good storytelling! I JUST HIT TEXT LIMIT SO ILL STOP NOW HELP ?

this is really a weird topic for me to touch but i think i’m at that very weird stage where i’m becoming aware,,,3 years later,,,ab how vile some people can be. i can’t stress it enough, if you are 18 and someone who is notably older than you expresses interest and gasses u up ab how “mature” u are,, please literally just turn around and walk the other direction. 

growing up, i’ve always considered myself to have always been situationally aware on stuff, and that often led me to just brush off incidents into a lighthearted thing. very big mistake. i jumped around from house to house since i was young and was on the side of life where i sort of got forced to grow up early,,so i always thought i was more adult than i actually was. (i’m literally still not,, i’m 21 now and i still am a child LMAO) but bro. the world shifts the second u turn 18. people are vile. men are vile. that 26 yo guy who was just your friend will gas you up and tell you that this and that is okay until they get what they want. you will feel like you’re alright, you can “handle” it, and you’re an adult anyway so why not, but please for the love of god walk away. 

the fact that u have to even convince urself that ur an adult and hype yourself up to believe what a 26 yo man is telling u is a clear sign that no u aren’t ready for involvement like that. 

regret is inevitable in the world and i always believe in letting people make their mistakes to learn lessons but when it comes to shit like this im begging u to just hear me out and walk away if god forbid u get into situations like that. when people say you’re just 18 it isn’t a means to demean ur maturity,,but this is just us looking out for u bc HDSJFHJDHFSJKHKDFJHJ this kind of regret will eat u alive for years.
