MC being covered in blood in an angsty situation to start the card off is not what I expected.

Overall this card is a really beautiful display of patience, recklessness, and communication! The characters are put in a scenario where we really get to see how well they understand each other without necessarily having to say anything outright all the time.

We ALSO see that the opposite is true! It's not a miscommunication issue, just that there's some consequences to not saying anything.

There's also somewhat of a character flaw in MC that's really cool to see fleshed out because it's a common trait across all her interactions with any LI - and that is her blatant disregard for her own well-being. We know that she does it, but are not entirely sure about her motivations for it. Is it insecurity? Selflessness? Self-righteousness? Does she really just not care? Has growing up so lonely given her a strong sense of dying dutifully and honorably is better than living without purpose, alone? They definitely address it and I appreciate that they hint that the issue isn't going anywhere and won't be fixed overnight, but it's at least brought up.

OH MY GODDDDDDDD this the kinda line that'd have me laying in bed eyes wide open thinkin about it bc oh my god the pain. just the pure idea of the federation trying to take everything from him to the basic autonomy of his own mind, not even allowing him the basic curse of living with the harm inflicted by him lingering as visuals in his mind. no, he has to deal with the pain, the emotions, and the effects but no pin straight memories to go off of- and practically being sent into a haze outside the center of his right mind whenever he's reminded of his time in those labs for repairing his 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴. the pain of his mind being able to conjure up a clear picture of the events that occurred there being a clear cut trigger for the set conditioning the federation put in place just causes me such agony.

for at least some respite- I think this could be a side effect that is possible to wait out, if he does remember any of the events in there and has the need to travel to a federation building and await for a worker to take him, at least having someone with him to ground him and keep watch untill reality sets back in again will be enough to keep him from going back for the time being (also bc this idea causes such pain to me ow let him have people THERE FOR HIM like in the other little oneshot where the Goat (etoiles) was able to help him back home and keep watch and allow him at least one more night of peace before they had to face whatever the next day had to offer) - 💿

I‘d definitely assume that if it ever came to it, Fit would just hold Phil right where he is and attempt to ground him. Soft touches, whispered and carefully chosen words, keeping Phil back until he can properly ground himself out of that conditioned mindset.

Would it be any easier? Oh no, physically holding him back wouldn’t be the problem. Phil wouldn’t fight back because even against his friends is it feels so wrong, wrong to fight and wrong to not fight. It’s how much it pains him mentally that he just cracks.

Imagine Fit carefully holding onto Phil and trying to ground him, having to listen to Phil whisper and quietly ask for Fit to let him go, let him go back and let him be fixed, he needs to be fixed fixed fixed- isn‘t this what everyone wanted??

Eventually Phils Body just gives out in exhaustion, his weight pressing against Fits hold on him and they just.. sit there, only sounds being the occasional hiccup from Phils side and Fits reassuring whispers.

How is he supposed to work through all of this and let others support him when he doesn’t even know himself what is going on?

And then Phil goes back to pretending this never happened.
