Not sure if you're still doing the trope mashups, but I would like to hear your take on a weird one, Renegade Bap and Dragon Sym. 83 paired with either 16,54, or 87
GOD Bapmetra is hot.
83. Intimate Artistry
54. Secret Relationship
In basically the same vein as Satya's role in my "Of Blades and Broomsticks" AU, Satya is a dragon goddess--a primordial being charged with the safekeeping of the flame of creation. But, as with all gods and old faiths, worship of her has largely died away. Baptiste, a mercenary trying to make a clean break from his old life, ventures into a long-abandoned temple in search of treasure to secure a comfortable living. He ends up stealing a beautiful statuette of solid garnet which, ironically, Satya has been using as a vessel to conserve her strength. The thing is though, until Satya can gain strength from offerings and worshippers, she can only manifest in the form of flesh for a few hours every night when a scarlet star is at its zenith. Poor Baptiste falls hopelessly in love with her, but now is kind of stuck with the task of having to start a cult if he ever wants Satya to have a permanent body. Satya repeatedly promises Baptiste immortality as her consort if he's able to secure a permanent body for her, but to be honest, he doesn't care about immortality, he just wants to be with her. The other issue is he has to be on guard at all times to make sure no one else steals the statuette--either because they know about the goddess housed within and covet that power for themselves, or because it's a piece of loot that will fetch a decent amount of coin. Basically it's one of those, "You're a decent person but you're also placed at odds with the fucked up requirements of primordial religion and also 16 out of 24 hours your girlfriend is basically a rock and that is very stressful" sort of deals.

🌓Thirteen-Moon Guide To Your Magical Year🌓
Tumblr media
🌙 Thanks to the way the earth orbits the sun and the way the moon orbits the earth, our calendar year contains thirteen full moons and moon cycles, also called lunations. Here are some traditional correspondences from astrology and folklore.
January is known as the Cold Moon of the Wolf Moon. This is the time for new beginnings, for planning for and conceiving a child, and for making other goals for yourself, your working life, your health goals, and any other aspirations. You should look deep inside yourself and take this time during the Wolf Moon to think about and contemplate what is most important to you, and how you can have what is truly meaningful in your life. The Cold Moon is also when you should perform protection spells for yourself and your loved ones, and rituals of safekeeping for your home and the people and things you really care about.
February is the time of the Wild Moon or the Snow Moon. Now you can begin growing the seeds you planted in your soul during the last month’s Wolf Moon. The Wild Moon is an excellent time for purification rituals and for cleansing old “bad” energy out of your life, your home, your psyche, and your office. The Wild Moon can be a time for great healing, especially after a ceremony for energy cleansing. One of the best cleansing rites you can perform is one for true acceptance of yourself, letting go of all self-loathing, and saying goodbye to your inner critic. A ritual of self-love and recognition would be a wonderful observance of the Wild Moon of February.
March is the Crow Moon or the Seed Moon. It is a time to balance your life energies. After the cleansing and goal-setting of the past two moons, now you can begin to activate your plans. This March Full Moon is also an excellent time to concentrate on prosperity. The Crow Moon is an ideal time for an abundance ceremony.
April is the Hare Moon or the Pink Moon. It is one of the most creative times of the year. This is the moon when you can act on what you have been dreaming of during the earlier moons. You can begin to manifest your deepest desires, both in terms of your aspirations and your amorous side, since the Hare Moon is made for love spells and other rites of romance. Pursue your passions with confidence and optimism.
May is the Merry Moon or the Flower Moon. It is known as the “green month” in terms of green magic and the season where “little folk” or fairies will appear. Nature has now burst into a glorious full spring. In May, your inner wisdom is at its height. Now is the time to connect with nature and explore our beautiful and sacred planet. Rites of spring are a wonderful way to commune with your spirit.
June is the Mead Moon or the Strawberry Moon, also called the Lover’s Moon. Now we can taste the sweetness of life and celebrate our strength and fruitfulness. It is a time of security and protection. Assess the results of all that you have planned and planted in the past months.
Tumblr media
July is the Thunder Moon or the Blessing Moon. It is a time for divining meaning and focusing on spirituality. Now we can expand our consciousness and listen to the messages of our dreams. The Thunder Moon is when we receive the blessings  of the rain and feel the charged energy of the thunderstorms. The Thunder Moon is an auspicious time for a dream ritual or a divinatory rite.
August is known as the Corn Moon or the Red Moon. This time of year is bursting with health, vitality, and ardor. This is an optimal time to gather friends and family together and celebrate the brightest side of life. Feasting, dancing, and delight are the order of the day.
September is the Harvest Moon or the Singing Moon. Now we see completion of plans and ideas and the harvesting of our crops. Now we reap what we have sown earlier in the year- our thoughts, actions, words, and projects. The Singing Moon is a wonderful time to organize our lives and let go of anything that is no longer working. If something is worn out, broken,or simply does not suit your life anymore, including emotions, patterns, beliefs, and even people, this is the perfect time to let go. Declutter and simplify your life.
October is the Hunter’s Moon or the Falling Leaf Moon. Great transitions are taking place all around you now, and change is also taking place within. Take time to observe and feel these transformations in your life and in the world around you. Notice how the temperature changes, how the trees shed their brightly colored leaves, how the geese and other birds fly south. The Hunter’s Moon should honor the very human need for physical nourishment, warmth, and rest. Seek inner peace now after the hurly-burly of summer. This is the season for relaxation and release. It is a karmic time, during which you can seek karmic completion. You should acknowledge the changing of the seasons with ceremony.
November is the Beaver Moon or the Mourning Moon. At this time you should get in touch with your spirit through introspection. Many countries observe November 1 as Ancestor’s Day and remember the dead through ritual and feasting.
December is the Winter Moon or the Long Nights Moon. This is when we experience a metaphorical death and rebirth. We can alsolight the flame of our hearts and souls through journeys of the spirit.
The “Extra” or Thirteenth Full Moon of the year is the Blue Moon in the expression “once in a blue moon”,which refers to rare and special occasions. It is on that rare occasion when two full moons occur in one calendar month. The Blue Moon is to be used wisely. Take this opportunity to look at your long-term plans and goals and to give thanks for what you have, for the people in your life, and for your good health, children,a job you enjoy, good friends, a comfortable home, and opportunities.
The Blue Moon is also a time for prophecy. Each Blue Moon ritual you create should contain an aspect expressing thanks to the Gods and Goddesses and to Mother Nature, who gave you life.

He’d abandoned you.
Well. In his defense, it wasn’t necessarily abandonment.
He just....couldn’t have you there for the deal, something he’d informed you of once you’d successfully recruited Cara.
That was when he informed you that you’d remain on Sargon, with the same villagers who’d wished for you to never leave in the first place.
Now you were returning, just not how you imagined your visit would be.
You’d started the trek toward the abode where you’d be staying in the beautiful but barren planet. It wasn’t the place that earned your disdain but rather the circumstances of you having to stay. At least they were affable, that much you were grateful for.
Omera was the kind of woman whose warm smile beckoned you to share the darkest of your secrets because you just knew that she would share them with no one. And Winta, oh, children always did capture your soul with nothing more than a gapped smile, and Omera’s pride and joy was no different.
And all of that was nice, yes, but it failed to outweigh the throbbing pain in your chest that increased in intensity as you traveled toward the farm, silence thick and heavy between the two of you.
The child remained in your lap, sleeping soundly against your beating chest while The Mandalorian kept his gaze on you, the entire time.
You refused to look at him.
Even once you reached the village, as he spoke with Omera about the reason for your return, beseeching her for her blessing in having you stay there (something you both knew she’d have no objections toward), you couldn’t focus on anything else other than the fact that three had come to the small village, but only two would leave.
He was leaving you behind, and this was the source of the tangible animosity between the two of you. It weighed heavy on you to plaster a smile as the excited villagers, especially the children, greeted you.
They’d gravitate to you, naturally, and really, you to them.
Children just had a special place in your heart.
But even their innocence failed to lift your spirits.
You stood in the woods, on the elevated plains so that you could observe the children happily playing with the Child, Floppy, as you’d nicknamed him.
The leaves crunched under the heavy weight of his boots. He wanted you to hear him, if he didn’t, he’d have easily kept his presence a secret.
“You’re leaving.” You stretched your legs, the heel of your shoes pressing into the dirt.
More crunching. “Yes.”
You dropped your head and nodded slowly. “Well, you better get going.” Pressing your palms against your thighs, you stood up and turned around, eyes landing on shiny beskar. “The sun’s getting low.”
A reply wasn’t necessary, or maybe it was. Either way, you didn’t want to hear it.
But that didn’t stop him from speaking or grabbing onto your arm as you tried to walk past him.
“Aayla–”
“Don’t.” Goddess, even your name on his modulated filtered mouth caused your stomach to flip and your jaw to clench. “You’ve said what you had to say.”
“No. You’ve chosen to hear what you want to hear.”
“Like you’ve chosen my having to be left behind?”
He stepped forward, and you could almost see the scowl on his face. “I am not leaving you behind.”
You too made that step, chin jutted in the air, symbolizing your defiance. “Then why am I here? Why am I not coming with you? I can help, and you know it.”
“Aayla—”
“This whole plan of yours is dangerous.”
“Why do you think I’m leaving you here?” His hand fisted at his side. “I can’t do my job if I have to worry about the kid and you.”
The bass in his voice lessened, his shoulders relaxing, the volume of his voice decreasing with each word. Sighing with defeat—you never could stay upset with him for too long—you placed your hand on his covered forearm.
“I have a bad feeling about this, Mando,” you admitted, eyes falling down to his armor. His hand lifted to the indenture of your waist, tugging you closer to him. Naturally, your other hand rested on his forearm, gliding down to his wrists. “Something is not right. I-I can feel it.”
“I know,” he whispered. You looked at him. The metal between you melted into oblivion as you his eyes seared into your furrowed brows. You could feel his sympathy, but you also felt his determination. “But I don’t have a choice. They’ll keep coming for him.”
His touch, metal filtered at all, was your anodyne. It beckoned you. “We can protect him.” You moved against him, your body pressed against his, his warmth swimming over.
“At what cost?” He questioned. His other hand moved to the small of your back, applying just the slightest of pressure as gloved fingers danced against your clothing. “We can’t keep running.”
“So we surrender?”
“It’s not a surrender. It’s a compromise.”
You rolled your eyes. “That’s one way to put it.”
“Aayla….” The sigh that accompanied his saying your name, you hated it, you hated how it guilted you into regretting how you’d been treating treating him. Not having you around for this exchange was for the best, he was just trying to keep everybody safe. Floppy was the priority, and he couldn’t have any distractions.
“I know.” Neither of you moved sans his fingers gliding against your back. If you could, you’d freeze this moment, store it away for safekeeping. This was comfort. It was isolation that allowed for defensive molting. There was no concern for onlookers, no consideration of others opinions, just the two of you.
“I still hate this.”
“I’ve noticed.”
A smile broke the walls of your dismay. You loved this side of him, the side that unintentionally revealed small facets of his personality. His sarcasm always secured a grin, chuckle, or laugh. Even if he failed to see the comical connotation.
“I suppose I should be thankful you at least have enough sense to not go alone.”
He remained still while your fingers moved against the fabric that barely registered. You’d gotten used to the physical barriers, if you could even still call them that. They were just there. But they didn’t stop the flow.
“Cara is a good soldier. Her presence could be beneficial.”
“Hmm.”
He looked down. “What?”
“Is that your way of saying you trust her?”
“I trust her desire to strike down anyone who still remains from the Empire.”
There was a benefit that stemmed from assisting him, that’s what you interpreted from his roundabout reply.
“Just, let her help you, okay?” Whether he was listening to you or not, you couldn’t really say. His body language, the close proximity, the affection, you knew it was all attributed to the fact that he too felt uneasy about this whole thing. It was why he hadn’t outright fully rebuffed your concerns.
But you also knew that he was stubborn, he’d probably attempt to engage in the transaction without assistance if not for the child. He could handle himself, but factor in another person, a kid at that, and it complicated things.
Which is why he’s asking you to sit this one out...
“It won’t take long.”
“It shouldn’t.”
Even with the helmet, you felt it, his gaze burning into you, peeling back every layer of defense.
“You’re still worried.”
“Yes, and I will remain so until you return. Both of you. Whatever it takes.” You flicked your fingers against the beskar. “And don’t let him eat anymore frogs. They upset his stomach.”
“It’ll be at the top of my priority list.”
Your eyes betrayed you, vision fogging, even as you smiled and pushed on his chest. “Bastard.”
The pending departure and acceptance of the fact that this was really happening, he was going to do this, leaving you behind in the process, it triggered something.
This would be the first time you’d been away from him and the child since your meeting months prior. Sure, he’d leave the two of you in the ship or at the lodging while he carried out various jobs, but they always carried the promise of a return.
You knew he’d march in eventually, irritated, tired, even if he never voiced it, and sometimes with an additional battle scar that you’d end up helping him tend to by the end of the evening.
It was a routine, something you’d welcomed and accepted.
But now…..
“Promise me you’ll be careful.” Your plea was whispered and light, marred by the intensity of your anxiety. Body firmly pressed against his, you allowed your arms to rest between your conjoined chests. You wanted to be as close to him as possible, cheek flushed against his chest.
For a second, you thought you heard his heartbeat, steady and calm, a stark contrast to your own.
Your eyes shut as his hand moved up your back. You inched even closer. “Aren’t I always?”
His unintentional humor failed to evoke a smile this time around. “I’m serious.” You craned your head to meet his gaze. “Promise me.”
He took a deep breath and removed his right hand from your back. Eyes closing once more, you leaned into the gloved palm pressed gently against your right cheek.
You could just feel how just that gesture required caution. He was always so gentle when it was just the two of you. It sometimes perturbed you how different he was out in the field: stoic, ruthless, strategic, a mercenary.
But in an equally strange sort of way, you prided yourself on that. You liked how comfortable he felt with you, like he didn’t have to have his guard up all the time. Like the risk of an attack or betrayal didn’t exist.
You liked being his safe space, just as he was yours.
“I promise.”
Low and firm, the acknowledgment managed to chip away some of your fear, not much, but you’d take it.
Your eyelids lifted and your lips pressed together. You nodded. “Okay.” A thousand and one unpleasant activities ranked higher on the list of things you’d rather do than to have to separate from him. You didn’t want to leave. You didn’t want him to leave.
And he saw that, he felt it.
“It’s getting late.” You fully recognized that was his way of informing you that it was time for him to go. You already knew it, but hearing him confirm it brought you right back to square one.
But this time, time really wasn’t on your side.
You swallowed deeply and suppressed the urge to force him to pry you off as you stepped back only to stiffen when you realized he’d grabbed your hand.
You stared at him, frown deepening. His grip tightened ever so slightly.
And then you got it. It misted over you like the first rain of spring.
He would miss you too.
It shouldn’t have surprised you as much as it did. You’d learned by now that he was a man of few words when it came to these sort of things. To feelings.
His non-verbals relayed the story few were privy to read, the one he kept stored away at the highest and most obscure spot on the shelf.
And somehow, someway, you’d managed to climb your way up there.
You offered a small smile and turned toward the village where you could see the children hovered around Floppy.
“He’s not going to be happy when he finds out he has to leave again.”
“He doesn’t have a choice.”
The pause in his reply, the decrease in volume, it all made you wonder if you were still talking about the Child.
“Come.” You gave your conjoined hands one last squeeze before pulling away and moving toward the path you’d followed to come here. “We cannot delay the inevitable.”
A small part of you wished that he would grab your hand again, that he would drag you to the same spot a few feet away where you’d first been intimate. Even if only to relive hushed memories and whispered sentiments, you’d take anything. As long as it involved him.
“No.” He never reached for you. “We can’t.”

A 'secret' tour inside the long-awaited Grand Egyptian Museum
Stephanie Vermillion, CNN • Published 9th August 2019FacebookTwitterEmail
1/8Long-awaited opening: Cairo's Grand Egyptian Museum was originally set to launch in 2012, but this has now been pushed back to 2020.Mohamed-El-Shahed/AFP/Getty ImagesEditor's Note — Editor's Note — CNN Travel's series often carry sponsorship originating from the countries and regions we profile. However, CNN retains full editorial control over all of its reports.

(CNN) — When it finally opens, Cairo's Grand Egyptian Museum will be the largest museum dedicated to a single civilization.Standing just two kilometers away from the pyramids of Giza, the monument, which will house some of
Egypt's
most precious relics, is expected to attract around five million visitors a year.More than a decade in the making, and with its opening being pushed back once again in 2018, there's one "secret" way travelers can visit the 5.2-million-square-foot structure before it officially launches in 2020.A private behind-the-scenes tour is currently in operation -- albeit with a $250 price tag. This exclusive experience provides a very select few with a sneak preview of the $1 billion project before the rest of the world gets a look in.Grand Egyptian Museum international relations representative Faten Mohammad is one of the leaders of the tour, which lasts four hours and runs every day.
CNN Travel
joined one of her tours earlier this year. Mohammad kicks things off by detailing the museum's ongoing conservation efforts."The conservation center has received 46,000 artifacts until now [April 2019], and we've finished the refurbishment of 42,000," she explains. After running through the center's tight security measures -- no photographs unless authorized and absolutely no touching -- Mohammad opens the door to the organic lab. Here hundreds of King Tut's textile, leather and papyrus artifacts lie ready for restoration. His refurbished necklaces, shoes and even a loincloth (yes, King Tut's underwear) are shown without the typical glass casing. New artifacts
THE GEM was originally set to launch in 2012, but this has now been pushed back to 2020.Mohamed-El-Shahed/AFP/Getty ImagesWhile one third of the Egyptian pharaoh's artifacts were previously on display at Cairo's Egyptian Museum, the GEM is to house all 5,000 known objects."We will display the collection of King Tut in one place for the first time since we discovered the tomb in 1922," adds Mohammad. "His treasures will be displayed in two halls of about 7,000 square meters."Officials plan to arrange the pieces to look as they did when British archaeologist Howard Carter discovered King Tut's tomb in Luxor in 1922. Some may consider the GEM's behind-the-scenes tour as nothing but a moneymaking marketing gimmick. But the draw of this high-priced expedition is the chance to privately witness the inner workings of one of the world's largest museums. In the wooden lab, Mohammad delivers on that promise."When Carter discovered [King Tut's] tomb, he tried to conserve the artifacts by covering them in wax. We discovered this has bad effects," she says. Conservation project
The Tutankhamun collection is going through the restoration process at the museum's conservation lab.Mohamed-El-Shahed/AFP/Getty Images"Our colleagues try to remove wax before they're displayed. When we removed the wax [on a chariot of King Tut], we discovered new scenes we didn't see before."As visitors peruse the decorated gold chariots -- smartphone photos are allowed at this point -- Mohammad continues with the Egyptian trivia."We have three funeral beds of King Tut made for his afterlife journey," she says, gesturing towards a set of intricate wooden structures. "When we made a photo scan, we discovered the black color you see isn't actually black. It's Egyptian blue [an ancient pigment now commonly known as cerulean]."King Tut did not use these beds during his reign in 1300 BCE --  they were solely for his death. The beds have carvings of the goddess Ammit, a hippopotamus representing divine retribution, and the cow goddess Hathor, who Egyptians believed helped deceased souls transition into the afterlife. The tour's next stop, the heavy stone lab, feels more warehouse than museum, until Mohammad highlights the facility's ancient 1,000-pound ruins. This working lab houses granite, limestone and basalt statues, as well as remains from temples all over Egypt. The goal is to clean and support these massive artifacts before moving them to the museum's main entrance. "All huge objects will be displayed along the grand stairs in the museum," Mohammad says. "A Ramses II [statue] is in front of the main entrance; beside him all over the stairs you will see more than 87 huge objects."Related content
Egypt announces discovery of ancient port used by temple builders
Billion-dollar project
The building's facade is designed  to subtly mirror the nearby pyramids.Courtesy Stephanie Vermillion At this point Yusuf steps in to lead visitors on a quick hard hat tour of the massive GEM construction site. The museum was set to open in 2012. Then came the Egyptian revolution. Due to security concerns and dwindling funds, the government stopped construction from 2011 to 2014, according to GEM representative Basma Yusuf. As the project ramped back up with loans from Japan, officials predicted a partial opening in 2018, which then became 2019. But in late 2018, news broke that it had been postponed once again, with a 2020 opening date announced this time.Since then, the GEM and select guide partners have been taking small private groups through the museum's entrance and restoration facilities as a way to help fund the $1 billion project. While expensive, the tours appeal to many Giza travelers. The town's allure typically stops at the pyramids for most. But with the upcoming museum and, until it opens, the behind-the-scenes tour, travelers can really make the most of their time in Egypt. The GEM curated its 100,000 total artifacts from Egypt and beyond; 20,000 of those will be on display for the first time. Officials moved many pieces from the cramped Egyptian Museum due to the 117-year-old facility's lack of space. This staple in central Cairo's Tahrir Square will now focus on art."When we visit the Giza Pyramids, we spend too long in traffic to go to the old [Egyptian Museum] in Tahrir Square," said Azmy Salama, tour consultant with Explore Egypt Tours. "This will save time and, also important, help us exhibit our valuable collections which we have in the [catalogs] that nobody sees."After five minutes driving from the conservation center to the entrance -- yes, the complex is that big -- visitors get their first full look at the immaculate museum. The entrance's nearly 2,000-foot-tall translucent façade is designed to subtly mirror the nearby pyramids. A palm-fringed "Nile Park" will pay homage to the life-giving river through peaceful fountains. Related content

Work in progress
An 83-ton Ramses II statue will welcome guests in the Grand Egyptian Museum's entrance.Mohamed-El-Shahed/AFP/Getty ImagesBut these features require quite the imagination one year away from the opening. Yusuf knows there's a lot of work ahead, but she's confident they'll get there. "We have 7,000 people in three shifts working day and night," she says while handing out hard hats. "In the conservation center we have about 400 people working." While the building looked sparse on the April 2019 tour, it's progressing more quickly than meets the eye. In February 2019, the Minister of Antiquities Khaled al-Anani announced the museum was 88% ready, according to the Egyptian Independent newspaper. As guests walk toward the entrance, Yusuf talks through the interactive children's museum and the GEM's new solar panels -- it will be the first Egyptian museum to use solar energy. At this point, though, visitors are pretty distracted. Even Ahmed, the Explore Egypt Tours guide, is too mesmerized by the 83-ton Ramses II statue to focus. This red-granite colossus was originally discovered in Memphis in 1820. It was restored in Cairo in 1954 and served as a beacon in the city's Bab Al-Hadid square for decades. The government moved it to Giza for safekeeping in 2006, with Ramses II arriving safely in his new home, the GEM's nearly finished entrance atrium, in January 2018.With cranes, jackhammers and makeshift fencing surrounding us, this encounter with the 39-foot-tall colossus peaceful is far from peaceful. But given the GEM expects to draw eight million tourists annually, this raw, crowd-free moment with the ancient Ramses II is well worth the price of admission.

B.P.R.D. Case Files - The Sandman and Hariasa #1
B.P.R.D.  / Bureau for Paranormal Research & Defense / Hariasa File #1
Location – [REDACTED], Germany
Subject – Hariasa/Herja/Herjaza – Germanic goddess and/or spirit
Incident – Attempted Overthrowing of Human Government
Agents – Hellboy : Left B.P.R.D. in ’94; returned in 2017 after thought deceased / Ashley Strode: Former Navy; amateur exorcist of considerable skill / Captain Ben Daimio: Former Marine; thought to be deceased, but recently returned to duty; only granted permission to lead the operation at the strict recommendation of Agent Hellboy due to previous incidents weakening the trust the Bureau has in Daimio’s clarity of mind given his ‘were-jaguar’ condition
____________________________________________________________________
November 2017 – Body of Kaiser Muller, alias ‘Jason Smith’ is found. Agents Strode and Hellboy uncover that during WW2, Muller accidentally entered a ‘Dreamscape’ world ruled by a ‘Sandman’, who was absent.
After the war, Muller left his country, but was murdered years later, the likely culprit being a living nightmares modeled after Nazi soldiers created by the Sandman, either to silence Muller (not the opinion of Director Manning, but included here regardless; he never reads these) or because the nightmare went rogue.
The reasons for the ‘Nightmare Nazis’ going above and beyond their created purpose has been determined to be caused by a Disir/Germanic goddess known as ‘Hariasa’, whom Agents Hellboy and Strode encountered while investigating similar deaths in Muller’s native Germany, in a town close to where he’d been stationed decades before and entered the Dreamscape. The Sandman was questioned by Strode and Hellboy, who determined Hariasa, a war-like spirit, is a former would-be lover and companion, who has stolen a gem of some sort that permits her control over certain things pertaining to ‘dreams’ and thus these Nightmare Nazis.
During the first encounter with the Sandman, near the new Hellifyno Bureau at an establishment called the Red Sun Inn, Agent Hellboy was briefly incapacitated by the Sandman after choosing to attack before asking questions. Agent Strode, his partner on this case, obtained all further information.
Her assessment of the Sandman is as follows:
_____________________________________________________________________
As far as I can tell, Dream of the Endless, also known as ‘The Sandman’, is a dangerous individual of unknown power level. In my professional opinion, I don’t think the Bureau has ever encountered a being like him. He is not demonic or evil in nature, but I don’t know if there is enough known about him currently that clearly implies he is a friend to humanity so much as he is performing a job that requires he watch over dreams and also craft them. If he is responsible for nightmares as well, then that implies he is willing to harm humans, even if only psychologically. He has, however, attempted to physically intimidate this agent, and attacked Hellboy, though apparently in self-defense.
He appears very arrogant, not unlike some higher level demons that this agent has personally encountered, though he did not mention ever consuming and digesting human souls for pleasure, which is a plus. Still, it is this agent’s recommendation that the ‘Sandman’ be kept distant from this case, as I’m sure Hellboy will agree.
He created actual Nazis, after all.
_____________________________________________________________________
Agent Hellboy did agree.
It was Director Manning’s suggestion that the Sandman not be held accountable for the deaths or the civil unrest that has since gone on in [REDACTED], and that the chief target would be Hariasa and the Nightmare Nazis, who were to eliminated before claiming the aforementioned stolen Dreamstone for safekeeping.
During the course of this investigation, several cleaner crews from the Bureau went to [REDACTED] in order to restore order, with backup from local authorities and federal agents within Germany. However, by December 2017, no progress was made, and it seemed all Bureau agents and local authorities became compromised or were killed.
The following is a transcript taken from Agents Hellboy, Strode, and Captain Daimio’s body camera recordings.
____________________________________________________________________
Captain Ben Daimio: This is… Captain Daimio. Starting the recording now, I guess. Goddamn, I hate all this tech. We’re not fuckin’ cops, are we?
Hellboy: That’s what I said, but Kate says that it helps better document all the ‘weird shit’ we see.
Ashley Strode: I don’t mind them.
BD: Naturally.
HB: You’re a bit of a kiss-ass sometimes. Not all the time, just sometimes. Yer only agreeing with them because Liz didn’t put up a fuss about wearing her’s.
AS: …I am not a kiss-ass…
BD: You are, at least when it comes to Sherman. You’re not even subtle about it…
AS: EXCUSE Y–
BD: But we’re not here to gossip about your crush on Sherman, Ash. We’ve got a job to do.

[REDACTED] was partially destroyed. Entire buildings appeared to have been burned down, others torn apart, and Nazi imagery and more decorated every other surface, marked in either paint or blood or carving. People wandered around aimlessly, with confused, distressed expressions, with a few seeming alert, already looking at the B.P.R.D. agents and their armed escorts as they drew closer. It is the opinion of many in the Bureau that this was caused by the Dreamstone.

AS: I’m fairly certain that the charms and wards Hellboy and I have provided to everyone should protect us from… whatever this is.
BD: Poor bastards. They look exhausted. How long has this been going on? A month? A whole month to find one rock?
AS: I told Director Manning that it was more likely that Hariasa herself carried the stone with her, but might hide it periodically. He took that as an excuse to send in a smaller operation to just search the city… despite me telling him Hariasa is a forest spirit of war. Look at all of these carvings? Trees, vines, leaves. She’s trying to take back the city for nature. Corrigan said that these runes are meant to promote growth.
HB: …So she’s a gardener, or a war god? Which one is it?
AS: As far as I see it? Both. She wants the forest back because she’s at home there, not in all this concrete, brick, and metal. Her kind of warfare is probably centered around how early Germanic people fought. In forests, hiding in the trees and bushes, or whatever.
HB: Well. Now I don’t wanna go back in those trees.
BD: You won’t have to. Contact!

It was at this point that the people began to attack the B.P.R.D. forces that had landed. Lethal measures had to be taken, as these civilians, however much control they did or did not have over their own actions, were armed, either with blunt objects or actual guns. (Director Manning has stated that “it is regrettable for the Bureau to have to take such steps to ensure the safety and health of its own agents”)
As the body camera footage displays, Agent Hellboy mostly incapacitated those that attacked him, as he was rather resistant to any attack that was not from a firearm, and still he managed to shrug those off even as he was bleeding. Captain Daimio was less discriminating, as was Agent Strode, who mostly took cover behind Agent Hellboy, as she was necessary for the attempt to apprehend Hariasa and thus more vital than the security detail.
Losses were heavy on the side of German forces, while B.P.R.D. agents were mostly wounded, with only three deaths. The civilian population, which had originally been openly fighting the Neo-Nazi forces that were emerging and even flocking into [REDACTED] since November, seemed to have been forcibly converted and brainwashed by this Dreamstone. It took nearly an hour of combat for B.P.R.D. forces to take shelter in a partially destroyed pub.

HB: We got three down, Daimio! You need to get these guys outta here! I think the LAST German just went down while we were hauling ass over here!
BD: THEY insisted on being here! I’ve got my EYE on what we’re here for! I got no time for babysitting!
HB: Oh, yeah, sure, eye on what we’re here for! Or an eye on your fuckin’ iron sights, you blood-thirsty son–
BD: Finish that sentence if you want, Hellman, but you need to shut your giant fuckin’ mouth, quit grinding those big-ass donkey teeth, and get the FUCK out there and get that goddamn ROCK before WE ALL DIE! And take Strode with you!
AS: You guys need as many guns here as you can!
BD: No, what we NEED is to stop shooting Brainwashed Nazi Zombies by stealing the Brainwashing Nazi Zombie Rock! And YOU are the one that can stop the Brainwashing Nazi Goddess! So GO!

The plan went back on track afterward; leaving Captain Daimio behind to hold off the attacking population of [REDACTED], Agents Hellboy and Strode slipped out of the back door of the building and resumed their search for Hariasa and the Dreamstone in her possession. However, they were intercepted. Not by more compromised civilians, but by the ‘Nightmares’ that were mostly responsible for this situation. They appeared mostly human, save for having frightful appearances of what Agent Strode called ‘mutant corpses’, with their discolored flesh, eyes, and ‘appalling mouths’.
Agent Hellboy dove in front of Strode as two of the ‘Nightmare Nazis’ surged forward with unnatural speed, and grappled with both beings with some degree of difficulty. He describes their strength as ‘damn strong’, similar to his experience encountering ‘The Sandman’. The encountered lasted all of a few minutes, with Agent Strode activating her ‘flaming shell sword’ charm to assist at the last minute after the Nightmare Nazis began to tear away at Hellboy’s rather sturdy flesh with their hands and their mouths, apparently in an attempt to dismember him as they had done their other targets.
_____________________________________________________________________
AS: Durga! Watch over me! Lend strength to my arm! Fill my hand with weapons, that I may turn back evil upon my foes, to cast them out, or by your powers destroy them!
HB: Goddamnit, STRODE GET OUT OF HERE–
AS: STOP YELLING AT ME! I’M HELPING YOU!
HB: They’ll kill us BOTH, WOMAN! GET OUT OF–
AS: Look! See?! I’m helping! I’M helping YOU! Goddamn, Liz was right, you HATE back-up!
_____________________________________________________________________
The Nightmare Nazis responded negatively to Strode’s charm, as she claimed it disturbed whatever unearthly material that made up their forms, but not enough to kill them. Still, it bought Hellboy and Strode enough time to flee.
What followed was nearly another forty minutes of ‘cat and mouse’ between Strode, Hellboy, and the Nightmares that pursued them, supposedly in an attempt to keep them from making it out of [REDACTED] and finding their ally, Hariasa. Before long, Captain Daimio was forced to call for a retreat.
_____________________________________________________________________
BD: We are LEAVING. Consider this op a gigantic failure!
AS: Agreed! We’ll rendezvous at the landing site, regroup, and then get out of here while we still can!
HB: I’m not LEAVING these people–
BD: You HAD your chance! If you can’t even beat these Nightmare Punks, then there’s no point in trying to stick around and hold out for people that are still trying to kill us! Everyone HERE is either dead or dying, Hellboy! And I swear, I’m hearing shit now, even with Strode’s fuckin’ charms. We’re getting OUT.
_____________________________________________________________________
Fifteen minutes later, Captain Daimio and his team regrouped with Agents Hellboy and Strode. With the loss of every German officer that was sent in to accompany the B.P.R.D., the German government was not very happy with our performance. They have, however, considered our expert opinion, and have said they will delay further action, but refuse to let [REDACTED] to remain a standing symbol of Nazism, as it is still actively instigating other Neo-Nazi protests in other major cities.
The Bureau has until the end of January to consider another approach, while German authorities set up a wider perimeter around [REDACTED] to keep a watchful eye on the population. Captain Daimio performed well, but was vocal of how unnecessary it was to engage in an open firefight with civilians under mind control, and has been adamant that he will not ‘ever again’ engage on another assignment such as this. Agent Strode has also made it clear that she will insist on going back with Agent Hellboy to confront Hariasa. Director Manning has been reassured that Strode is still our main exorcist and spiritual combatant.
Hellboy has also been very, very, very vocal about how it was the wrong call not to let him stay behind to find Hariasa, as he insists he could ‘beat the fuck outta her’ until she ‘dropped that damn rock’ and he could ‘shove it so far up her hag ass’ that she would be able to ‘taste it for the rest of her soon to be shortened immortal life’.
Director Manning is considering requesting that he meet with ‘The Sandman’ in order to gain further intel, despite Agent Hellboy’s protesting. Agent Strode has admitted that more information would be useful, but is hesitant to suggest that the Sandman be allowed anywhere near B.P.R.D. operations, especially since he wishes to retake the Dreamstone, which Director Manning agrees is far too dangerous.
A follow-up to this file will be finished once the situation is resolved.
