The love you've fervently prayed for is on its way—a man of God, a cherished blessing bestowed upon you by the divine. Each trial and heartache you've faced has been a transformative journey, shaping you into the person who is now ready to embrace this extraordinary love. As you two cross paths, he will gaze upon you with an appreciation that surpasses anything you've known, and his love will envelop you in a warmth that feels both familiar and new. This connection, beyond doubt, carries the mark of destiny, a love story intricately woven by the hands of a higher power, giving you a profound understanding that this is the path you were meant to walk.🌻

Gods Gift — Turn All The Lights Out (Play Loud!)

Right off the bat, you can place the sound. The guitar grinds and splits, the drums pound, the bass provides a spine and the voice is in your face, a phlegmy Mancunian challenge. Gods Gift were a part of, and self-consciously, apart from the first wave of Manchester’s post-punk scene. Vocalist/saxophonist Steven Edwards and guitarist Stephen Murphy fronted a revolving cast of friends on bass, drums and additional guitars. Turn All the Lights Out is their first ever album, compiled by Murphy from demos and live shows recorded in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Edwards’ lyrics express the fury of a generation of youth raised and educated by institutions which promised them a future that was destroyed by Thatcherite economic and social policy. Gods Gift were the embittered product of a society in decay, facing the world with a raw, literate disdain and music that harnessed the power but transcended the three chord limitations of punk.
Opening track, “Discipline” explodes out of the speakers. Edwards’ voice and lyrics seethe outwards, castigating Church, school and his wannabe peers. With the band in lockstep behind him, the song has the immediacy of an early Warsaw track. So far so good, they sound great but familiar. Thereafter things get interesting. The band members’ experiences working at a psychiatric hospital provide the foundation of “Jacqueline’s Admission”, a social realist precursor to Blackbox Recorder’s “Child Psychology”.  Edwards’ clenched teeth narration of protagonist’s experiences with mental illness is set against a rolling mid-tempo bass riff. Murphy’s nonlinear guitar mimics Jacqueline’s state mind, flickering with the sparks of inspiration and insanity. The bass line that rolls through “Plague of Dreams” has the same throb of barely repressed threat that Tracy Pew brought to The Birthday Party’s most truculent blues coupled with Murphy’s nervous, squalling guitar which conveys the pestilent thoughts of the title. When Edwards takes a break from singing, his saxophone squalls contorted. When the Pistols screamed “No Future” it was both rallying call and performative nihilist thrill. Gods Gift make it real. “Phone Call from the Future” “Good and Evil” and “Revelations” are shot through with disgust, frustration, and violence as the band perform autopsies on the lies of postindustrial capitalism and religion. Musically they push the sound of Warsaw and The Fall in the direction of Pere Ubu and The Birthday Party with whom they share the same antagonistic performance style. Turn All the Lights Out is a genuinely exciting work of musical excavation and Gods Gift sound as vital, compelling and forward thinking as any of their lauded contemporaries.

Better Late Than Never
What's the saying? That's right, better late than never. Safe to say when you're a year late on your mixtape release. God's Gift very own Preach Black next mixtape title expresses all the brief. 'I Be Late ASF' is an accurate name for his tardiness, but barely reveals his work ethic and hunger. With the most mixtapes, videos, features, and views in The Gift, it's clear he's a pioneer for his team. It pays to be such an asset. Now the question is, can his team follow up and reciprocate?
Opportunity arises in the most unorthodox ways. 'IBLAF' wasn't going to be dropped at all! It wasn't until last minute Preach realized how much this EP was worth to him and his team. Long awaited for, The Gift wasn't going to let him put all his hard work on the back burner. In fact, Snacks732 from The Gift, and YB aka CallMeYB aka MixedByYB got involved for the finishing touches. Unable to speak with YB, Snacks emphasized,
"this tape definitely helped Preach escape his comfort zone, and we should expect nothing less from him in the near future."
Furthermore, we spoke about the various styles Jersey artists present to the nature of the game. Preach explained he wants to be more relevant, and to do so he's learning to utilize his time more wisely in the studio. Both artists agree consistency is key for their team. They assured more independent projects to be released as well.
On that note, Snacks732 has a mixtape dropping some time in October. His projected date is October 17th. His birthday. He feels as if he and his team are lyrically at their peak. With more consecutive drops coming, and a better routine, it's easy to see The Gift is inspired to make music a priority. While we're on the subject of music, make sure you check out all the other upcoming artists in Jersey. The Jersey scene is unique, well organized, and unforgettable. With Jerseys indescribable energy anything is possible for these creators.
Be sure to listen to Preach newest videos as well! You can find the works in he following links.

This is one of my splatoon characters, named Krill. He was found as a newborn squid by a pair of jellies who then adopted him and became his parents. He’s unknowningly a shark/squid hybrid part of a series of idol experiments (that failed, hence why they were flushed into the sewers LOL) The only thing that matches his insane height is his MASSIVE JOCK-LIKE EGO. Anyway, he lives the most normal life out of all my squid sharks with his normal jelly family, and is a slayer on a semi-pro turf team run by my friend’s octo character Ceph. (they become boyfriends later on) But yeh, he’s really fun.
