As he's lying there, sweaty and sated, half drowsing, Jake's arm across his belly like he simply forgot Bob's there and is too tired to adjust, it's easy to rationalize the gravity of the situation away. Tomorrow, they'll all scatter back to their postings as if the detachment never happened. He'll go back to the Eagles, Jake to the Vigilantes; they didn't cross paths before at Lemoore, and there's no reason for them to now.

Bob is no stranger to one-night stands, temporary bits of fun. He knows the routine, but when caught attempting to make a quiet exit the next morning, he can't muster up the usual excuses or goodbyes. What's he supposed to say - thanks for the fuck, see you never?

Except, as it turns out, whatever rational thinking he employed that night, wasn't all that thought out. Back with the Eagles, it's harder to avoid Hangman than he assumed. Bob dodges him in hangars, at bars and hangouts Nat dutifully drags him out to. He absolutely does not think about how Jake kisses, or moves, or the way he tastes. Absolutely not. And just when Bob thinks he's got a handle on the worst of his intrusive, betraying thoughts, the orders come - they're all being recalled to Top Gun for the official formation of the Dagger Squad in a month's time.

A week into tense briefings, all of them frustrated and annoyed by the endless paperwork and ground time, Bob thinks himself foolish to think he struggled at all in Lemoore. At least then, Hangman had given him a wide berth too. Now, often stuck in the same room for hours at a time, Hangman's usual taunts feel sharper. If anyone's caught on to how he's singled Bob out, no one voices their suspicions. At one point he worries Natasha's caught on to something, but when she raises her eyebrows at Bob, he mutters something about Hangman being Hangman and that seems to satisfy any curiosity.

And then, Bob has the misfortune of finding himself alone in the locker room after a few miles on the treadmill. If the way Hangman corners him is any indication, he'd guess it's purposeful. Bob very carefully keeps his eyes on the next set of lockers, just to the right of Hangman's face.

"What - miss an insult or two in the classroom," he snarks, surprising himself. Admittedly, it's a little easier when Natasha is in the cockpit with him. Bob takes a breath, his eyes flicking to Hangman's eyes, his lips. Bob refocuses his gaze. "Don't you think it's a little obvious?" If it's not curiosity, it'll be a joke - one that skirts too close to the truth. After all, navy pilots are known for their crude humor. Bob knows himself; he'll struggle to shrug it off. // @a1truist

but yeah One Piece is so much fun! the best/worst thing about it is it’s exactly as good as all its obnoxious obsessed fans say it is (i say as one of those obnoxious obsessed fans) so i’m so glad you’re enjoying it. it’s really funny and charming and stays funny and charming even in the most depressing or upsetting of arcs (as im sure you’re learning, being at impel down)

the worldbuilding tho. god it’s so fun. genuinely ill never get over how the world constantly feels so vast and rich and lived in. the spirit of adventure present in the series wouldn’t work half as well if the world weren’t so fun to explore and learn more about but it adds so much to the heart of the series for it to live i such a big and amazing world

yeah man the way oda manages to make the story funny and lighthearted but still make the really heavy bits hit so well is SO IMPRESSIVE.

as for favorite characters/scenes/arcs... this is a HARD DECISION. i like everyone so much! i think so far water 7/enies lobby might be my favorite arc and nico robin's entire story was fantastic, i love her, she's very cool. i might also say usopp or maybe luffy himself are some of my other favorites? also brook's backstory got me HARD, man, and the fact it brought back the goddamn whale from the very beginning of their journey on the grand line kills me.

What to do if Durarara over

I'm going to assume you've finished the anime and have not gone into anything else Naritaverse wise

So! You can read the novels. Since they're officially licensed by yen press, you can buy the soft cover books or get them as an ebook / kindle from barnes and noble or amazon. I don't really endorse this but I'm sure if you do enough digging around you can find old, still available, free translations like anni_fiesta who did a lot of translating back in the day. Here's the link to their Index of Translation. I still use it since it's the only place I know that has the white day story translated and it's one of my favorites (For Kadota Related reasons haha), plus a couple of other side stories.

(I think the internet archives have the novels if you do some poking around but for Narita Please Write SH 5 reasons, I'll ask you to dig those up lmao)

Speaking of Side stories, Kazinha-726 translated a bunch of drrr side stories But since they haven't updated in a while, you need to change the links from kaedesan721 to their new URL kazinha-726. I'll directly link what you need here

Izaya Spin Off Translations I don't think these are officially licensed for translation so it's fine for me to link. This is the story of Izaya now that he's been forced out of Ikebukuro, and there's two books as of writing this.

Durarara Gaidens It's some gaidens, but It's also a handful of translated convos from 3 way stand of alley relay, the links use that kaedesan721 link, so while I won't be fixing all those links for you, I can at least link the tag for all of them here. you can probably find audio for this game on youtube, though I'm not sure anyone's like.... fully translated? perhaps? Well Narita has other series, like Baccano! which had an anime before DRRR did, which is 16 episodes. Since Funimation lost the license back in like... 2012 it's not officially uh licensed for viewing anywhere, so uh. wink wink. message me if you need more help here.

There's ALSO the novels which... there are so many more than there are for drrr, also available to purchase, though these are hardcovers! Last time I checked they had.... around 20 translated? Since I'm more drrr side I'd have to ask about fan translations and if I can still find them around. But again I don't really condone it since we want more written you know?

Narita also has a couple other series, but the one that's my favorite besides DRRR is Etsusa Bridge (It's pronounced Essa Bridge don't make the same mistake I did. )

Giving Nicky enough time to step up and really prove himself to Taylor? Though of course we return then to the issue of that family not having enough time in general!

Conversely... I think I could have been happier with Taylor's decision happening at the end here and simultaneously been *less* uh absolutely heartbroken if it had been delivered differently like, tonally? I suppose I feel like... Combining all of their previous interactions prior over the course of the season, the complications surrounding Nicky's abandoment to begin with (listen could my man have sent a letter now and again abso-fucking-lutely but bro also had all his friends turn against him and was tortured by the FBI who he didn't want hurting his family like it's not so black and white at all), and maybe most of all the fact that Nicky genuinely *was* trying to be there for Taylor post-reuiniting in Hell... Combining all those things, it's not that I think Taylor is wrong to decide still that his dad wasn't there for him before so he doesn't want him now, as sad as that is I think it's still very understandable and certainly *interesting*, but the *cruelty* in how he delivered that blow is what came as a bit of a shocker to me and just doesn't feel good to me with. Well with all those other things I mentioned. Again, that's if we're keeping this interaction at the very end here, having Taylor chew out his dad the way he did way earlier could have been great.

• im not actually sure what eddie’s job wld be. still dealing? housewife? tattoo artist? working part time at some store? idk

• the neighbors file a noise complaint bc of eddie’s guitar playing [eddie: “can i smear butter on his doorstep. it’ll be hilarious i promise” steve: “dude he’s like 94 we are not making him break a hip. be reasonable. we’re gonna fill his mailbox with gravel for a month”]

• all the cuddle sessions!! especially angsty ones where one or more of them has a nightmare, quite often the wake-up-screaming kind & they help each other then end up piling up in one bed for the night

• just . the joy of living away from parents for the first time. them realizing they can set their own rules. them realizing no one is stopping them from making pasta at 3 am while high and eating it straight from the pot in a circle on the floor

• especially when it comes to stuff like robin having sensory issues, for example maybe the texture of the bathroom rug bothers her. and when she mentions it steve is just like “aight” and throws it out then & there. and she just has a moment of realizing “oh. no one’s going to yell at me for not liking something. no one’s going to roll their eyes and say i’m being stupid or dramatic.” & tears up a little bit

• eddie has the same issue, to a degree. (i headcanon him as having ADHD bc i love projecting) but they both really like the feel of steve’s sweaters so they steal them a lot & when steve does have a chance to wear one he has to deal w them petting his arms for like 20 mins (and pretends to be annoyed lmao)

• them just learning to b patient with each other for the things they can’t rlly help

• oh and. the jean-marc funeral procession involves eddie reading the plant its funeral rites (the religion changes each time) as robin plays the flute and steve — who needed a lot of convincing to play along — lowers it into a small grave they dug near the property (and keep having to dig up for the next unfortunate jean-marc)

a little post (it's actually kinda long)

recently I've been seeing a couple blogs saying that they feel like their time as a loa teacher on tumblr has passed and they'd like to just simply enjoy their lives with their desires and continuing to manifest things they desire. and as much as the community would miss them, i couldn't be in more support of them because they have done extensive work and made ample contributions. every single person on tumblr knows the basics. they know that the law states what you assume to be true(in your 4D imagination aka thoughts), will harden into a physical fact(in your 3D physical world). the law has proven to be true several times, and honestly it's just the way life is really. it's innate for humans to manifest- the loa isn't some fancy magic trick it exists whether or not you're consciously manifesting. you're manifesting 24/7 regardless. i used to overconsume material, i used to sit and wonder which method would "work best" to get me my desires instantly, i used to run to blogs to beg for validation/confirmation on things i was doubting, i used to be so frustrated thinking things would never manifest and i'd be destined for an undesirable life, just like the majority. i would even contemplate begging people to manifest for me to enter the void lmao.. i stopped when i realised it was getting me nowhere except on a mental decline. i mean who wouldn't feel depressed or at the very least, forlorn, that there were people who were manifesting their dream life overnight ? and it just.. wasn't clicking for you..? but i unconsciously began affirming that it would click for me eventually. @blushydior and @carmensapientia were the first blogs I saw that advocated for simplifying the law, making your own rules and not really putting emphasis on any particular method that had to be used in order to manifest. this was my first step towards it clicking for me. blogs like @itsravenbitch and @cleostoohot were sure to provide the tough love necessary for me to take accountability and understand this was MY life and every circumstance was MY doing and that if IIIIIII didn't get MY shit together- I would never be where I wanted to be. i saw some anons accusing them both of being rude or on a high horse and it broke my heart because that is absolutely not the case. bluntness IS necessary sometimes because truth coddling would only keep you right where you are. @starliet and @halokisses were the first blogs i began reading in March and were very instrumental in motivating me to never give up no matter what. they're extremely sweet from what i could tell, and they'd always have a special place in my heart, even 50 years from now! these blogs and many many many more have all been so courteous to give their time and energy to strangers on the internet to help us all basically achieve our dream lives and i'm fr crying right now because i can't be grateful enough to all of them.

i wish everyone in the community, even the rude anons, ppl still doubting the law and even those still asking "why hasn't it manifested" 😭 godspeed, and glory.

I understand this is very disappointing for many of you. I promise it has nothing to do with you, and mostly it’s just because my brain has decided it doesn’t want to cooperate.

I will post the rejected fics below the cut. I want to give you the opportunity to ask another Writer (check the list of Writers seeking requests here!) For some of you, I've already heard back from someone who agreed to take over your request!

Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of experience with schizophrenia, so I wouldn't feel comfortable writing this fic. I wish you luck, though, and I hope you can find someone who can write it for you.

As much as I love Spencer teasing a blushy Reader, I don't have any particular ideas for this.

I'm the furthest thing from a pro athlete, so I'm afraid I wouldn't have much of a reference point for writing something like this!

I've never been great at writing shy Readers, and it's only gotten harder as I've gotten older 😅

I have a tendency to get bored more easily writing humor/borderline crack stuff than more serious things hence why I don't make that kind of content a lot, but if I have a short idea I usually can slam it out in one go and I do have a lot of fun making myself laugh while writing it

I'm not a fan of the intense crack that just makes zero sense. godspeed to everyone who enjoys that kind of humor but it's not my thing and it's definitely not something I'd enjoy writing. hence why I'm hesitant to label most of my humor writing as crack at all because like you said, I try to inject more of an actual plotline into it even if it's goofy

Proxy with Micolash who was already a fave, and how he saved my ass against Ebrietas 🤟😔 i tried to solo my first run as much as possible to push my own skills (+ most summons in bb aren't helpful let's be real) but once i was pit against both ludwig and ebby i lost patience lmao

for extra lore, you know how when an enemy has an attack that eats you, they'll swallow instead of spitting you back out if it kills you ? i witnessed Damian suffer that fate and the image is forever burned into my mind, I owed him after that--

7. Does the character's age matters to you ?

Yes !! The old men (+ Eileen) are one of my main reasons for enjoying bb as I do, most of my media revolve around children or teenagers (even with older support characters) so it's both a welcome change of tone and very inspiring regarding society being Weird about aging. I like that most characters' sexualities are kinda up in the air, but yeah, Gabby is super lesbian (so is Europa) and Lucifer is either gay or demi sexual or something in that general area. Not that it fully matters

But I'm claiming Belial and his crimes for the bisexuals, even if he might as well be pan or omni and it wouldn't slow him down at all

Like yeah Lucilius, AroAce but not specifically repulsed, just uninterested outside of the scientific approach. Might have tried once or twice but mostly it's a waste of time and doesn't really consider it something he'd do regularly or anything. But yes Belial would repulse him because Belial takes it a tad too far.

Gabriel keeps flirting with Europa, or talk about the beauty of the woman form to Halluel and Malluel so often, while never mentioning anything about men whatsoever. and her feelings for Europa are extremely romantic loaded. So by all account we have proof she's attracted to women, but none about being attracted to men. Maybe down the line she would, but so far all we know really is that she's attracted to women, and it's something both romantic and physical for her.

Lucifer and Sandalphon are in this situation where they're in love with one another. So it's just easier to HC sexualities that would work on how they end up being in love with one another. They don't seem to care about anyone other than one another, and the sexual tension in between them is up for debate for anyone who would interpret them, so like. It's godspeed on whatever people decide to HC over them. my only argument would be that they're mlm, any others details is up to the player.

Claiming Belial for the Bi is totally valid. The only thing about him is that he canonically is DTF literally everything in the skies, and is in love with one man (and possibly would develop feelings for MC so it means any gender). however you decide to read the nuance over it is then free game as long as it's a multiple gender attraction and that it informs you on how he's still allosexual, and is more likely either alloromantic or demiromantic. But then? Bi is good still. And just appropriating him for the Bi is 100% a valid reason to get him there.

and yeah Bubs is progressive only because it means he can be on top of everyone. that's so cool.

and like i added in the tags let's not forget Lucio who loves to be the object of desire and attention, who flirts with Sandalphon openly, and also who openly said he doesn't believe in the gender binary anyway. And with Shalem, his other half, being all about how sex is the most normal thing ever, i assume Lucio doesn't have anything holding him back on this. So i doubt he's monosexual, and i doubt he's asexual in any way. Anything else is free game.

it's so fun bc hc'ing for GBF is often like "well idk what THAT is but that's not heterosexual", even when it's for dubious reasons like this.

I feel like I can guess the fandom you've been talking about given the recent Interests™ but even if I'm wrong you're so valid. People are different at different ages and sometimes you want one specific incarnation of them and sometimes you want another one! I have periods where I want adults with a job and I have periods where I want to see them ace their homework. The appeal of growing up together or the appeal of growing older together. And people just go "but but what if the teenagers have sex" do you think people who have sex at 15 don't exist? Is exploration of teenage sexuality not a topic that speaks to you?? Which, it's fine if it doesn't, gods know I get tired of teen coming of age stuff sometimes, but still. Isn't it interesting? To see people navigating this area of life for the first time? Especially if you add fucked up life circumstances on top. This is reminding me of possibly one of my fave porn comics where it's just the batfam but they're all Old Enough and then they have gay sex (except Alfred who I assume was considered too old and not hot and virile enough). This series rewired my brain at a time where I didn't care at all about comics. And it has teenage sexuality in it because sure it does! Why not! Anyway. Godspeed. May the teenagers kiss.

And now here I am high key fixating on this other show and even though these characters are like Perfect ages for this kind of fic they're all always aged up 😭 I want to see the exploration of sexuality in relation to the world the live in, in how they have to approach their whole saving of the world thing, in the enemies to lovers speedrun that could've happened!!
