Klee Benally, Navajo environmental and tribal sovereignty activist, died Dec. 30 in a Phoenix hospital, according to the Associated Press. His family did not disclose the cause of death.

Benally, 48, was an environmental and social activist as well as an acclaimed artist. He was a talented silversmith and a founder of the award-winning Indigenous punk rock group Blackfire along with his sister Jeneda and brother Clayson. The group, rooted in both Navajo traditional music and punk rock, railed against cultural, environmental and social injustice. He moved on to become one of Indian Country's strongest advocates for preserving sacred spaces, cleaning up abandoned mines, supporting Indigenous peoples' rights and reclaiming the Earth's health.

starline failed at recreating sonic and tails bc 1) hes a fucking loser 2) he saw their relationship as superior-inferior, egoist and servant. that is not sonic and tails and its too unhealthy and unstable not to implode. eggmans gonna accidentally recreate the sonic + tails dynamic with his fucked up brainwashed metal doll that loves going fast and killing and appealing to authority and his little baby genius who wants a family and also would like approval from authority and both of them r on equal footing by both being his servants and both of them r family by both being his children and they are tied together by common goals and hardwired (lol) attachments to each other as family. i want metal and sage to fight sonic and tails sooooo bad i want two baby geniuses using their wits and special skills (flying + piloting + engineering vs flying + controlling computerized systems) to fight each other + help their older siblings who r going so fast and hitting each other so hard. i want sonic to try to appeal to his little buddy sage but she cares about her father and her sister and metal is going to suckerpunch sonic in the middle of him trying to talk to sage.

like just just just them two being on equal footing + filling attack/support roles not by their dispositions so much as by their skills + caring abt each other as family bc thats what sage WANTS she WANTS eggman and orbot and cubot and metal and the rest of the empire to be her family and her home. its a DIFFERENCE thats just slight enough it reaaaallly works to me now THIS is how you make a sonic and tails: kind of by accident. you make two kids with special skills and a shared goal and they matter to each other largely on their own. rrrAAAAGHH [ripping my shirt off and then putting another one on]

i woke up in the morning feeling like a shipwreck survivor who can't remember how they ended up on the island. so, i messaged my buddy to fill me in on last night's shenanigans. apparently, i'm not as much of a party animal as i thought, because my memory is a blank slate. but luckily, he is a responsible friend who took notes, or so it seems.

i asked him about how we ended up at his house and what exactly happened before that. i was pretty nervous because the last thing i remembered was taking off my clothes and coming out in a towel.

he told me that i wanted to rest and sleep somewhere, and he suggested we go to his house. i guess that makes sense, but why couldn't i have just gone home and crashed in my own bed? oh well, too late to question my decision-making now.

apparently, i took a nice long bath at his house and then passed out for a bit. while i was sleeping, people started calling, and we had to leave. and this is where things get interesting.

i asked him if we did anything physical, and he assured me that we only kissed on the cheek and held hands while walking in cp. but then he slipped in that we also kissed on the lips in the auto on the way to his house. wait, what?! how did i forget that?

i asked him who initiated the kiss, and he said it was me. well, i guess i'm bolder than i thought. and apparently, we were talking about bumble and the prospect of him asking me out. no wonder i was feeling flirty.

all in all, it was an eventful night, even if i can't remember most of it. BUT WHAT IS WRONG W ME???
