Goncharov, 2022 (The remake)
Tumblr media
Inspired by @musette22 Anonymous ask and amazing answer on this post, and of course using the incredible original poster that started it all

im very glad to see people talking about goncharov (1973) despite how absolutely terrible the 2022 remake was. goncharov (2022) really bastardized the characters and themes and the cgi was just godawful

Goncharov feels like the evil twin of TikTok’s creation of the Ratatouille Musical.
It came from nothing. It’s not real. No matter how much we contribute, it will never be real. There are gifs. There are screenshots. There’s fanfiction, a cast, a Letterboxd, a TV Tropes page, and an IMDB page. There’s a score and a poster. It’s not real. Most importantly, we cannot get the attention of anyone big enough to make it real because it’ll destroy the entire concept. We don’t WANT the attention. We don’t WANT it to exist. It exists several decades in the past rather than as a joint effort for a collective future project so that no one will ever be able to create or recreate it. But the essence of the film still lies in the collaboration that “made” it. And it now only exists because we decided it should.
I am so obsessed with Tumblr’s community. I really am.

In 10 years there will be a pub quiz question: 'When was the film Goncharov created?'
And most of us will get it wrong because we will instinctively say '1973'.

i love the sheer, unbridled creativity that is present in Goncharov (1973). it's just this tidal wave of creativity (including anything from fake wikepedia articles to actual original "soundtrack" compositions, in addition to all the "analysis" and art and memes), and it's all made up & it's fun and everything has sprung out only in the last, what? 24 hours? something something about the human spirit just wants to create and share things with friends

My mom just said something to me and it made me think of a line of dialogue and I thought “what movie was that from? I just saw it recently” before realizing the line that I was thinking of was, in fact, from a caption on a Goncharov (1973) fanart piece that I saw last night
It’s working, guys. We’re artificially manufacturing a Mandela Effect and it’s WORKING

it’s soooo fucking frustrating sometimes how fandoms fixate on shipping instead of anything actually interesting about the media. it happens so consistently and it’s especially frustrating when the tv show/movie/whatever has an actually interesting plot and themes and all anyone posts about is their blorbos kissing 🙄 for example, the goncharov fandom
