Today in F1 (21/09/24)

Hello party people!

Idk if this is of interest to anyone, but so much happens in a day in this sport that I thought it might be a good idea to create a regularish report of everything that's going on.

I've made a list of everything of importance that happened today, and if this gets any interest at all I could do this semi-regularly/weekly maybe. Lmk if this of interest/worth doing.

List in the tldr.

McLaren's Wings Clipped - other teams including Ferrari and Red Bull have been complaining about McLaren's moving rear wing for a while now, and although the FIA found the wing to be compliant with the rules, McLaren have offered to change it to prevent further discussion. Drivers also made comments about the legality of the wing when being interviewed today, including Sergio Perez and Lewis Hamilton. Andrea Stella stated that the wing in question made no difference to the team's overall performance.

Godzilla's Kid - practice was disturbed this morning by a lizard on the track, which crossed paths with Fernando Alonso. The stewards chased the lizard away and practice resumed.

Goodbye Daniel? - further rumours about this being Daniel's last race, and discussion about him being replaced by Liam Lawson after the break to the next race. Daniel stated we will know more after the weekend, while his teammate Yuki Tsunoda made it clear he is completely uncertain about the situation with the seats at Red Bull, and that he is focussed on things he can control such as his own performance. After a disappointing qualifying, Daniel was clearly frustrated with the way things are going.

A Future for Franco - further conversation within the paddock about a seat for Franco Colapinto next year after promising performances over his time with Williams so far. The seat available to him is the second seat at Audi, which would pair him with Nico Hulkenberg.

George vs Pirelli - George spent a majority of qualifying ranting about the state of the tyres, expressing frustration with Pirelli for the inconsistency of their performance. Alex Albon also raised complaints about this.

Carlos Spins - Carlos Sainz hits the wall causing a red flag during Q3, disrupting flying laps from Lando Norris and other drivers. Carlos was okay, but was investigated by the stewards for crossing the track without permission when returning to the garage and has been fined 25,000 euros.

Charles' Lap Deletion - after initially qualifying P3, Charles' lap was deleted after he was found to have crossed the white lines on the track, pushing Lewis Hamilton up into P3, and moving Charles down to P9 just ahead of Carlos Sainz. Charles was clearly unhappy with this result.

Lando Takes Pole - for the sixth time this season, Lando Norris has qualified in P1. Every time he has started a race in P1 so far, he has lost that position within the first lap. He'll have to fight hard tomorrow to break that record.

Haas in Arlington Texas - after a flyer of a lap, Nico Hulkenberg managed to qualify in P6. With Singapore being a difficult track to overtake, it's looking like points for Haas tomorrow.

Max vs the FIA - after receiving community service for swearing in a press conference, Max Verstappen staged a protest against the FIA by refusing to properly answer questions in the conference after qualifying, asking the journalists to meet him outside afterwards where he proceeded to hold his own conference. Christian Horner was seen speaking to FIA officials after qualifying.

It gets Lando up and going easy enough, and with slightly threatening reminders of said frozen yogurt they get done what they need to do.

“Shower, then a treat.” Jon says, watching Lando scurry off into the gym showers and appear again in record time.

When he’s handing Lando back to Carlos at the end of the day the younger starts babbling about his froyo immediately.

Carlos smiles. “Were you such a good boy that you got a treat?”

Charles + Andrea

hii hi art!! i just finished reading the newest drabble bc i tried really hard to save it until i’m back in my own bedroom after yoongi’s singapore concert!! 🥰

and yes, of course it’s everything and more than i hoped for it to be :( it was so sad but also so beautiful at the same time. i loved that you showcased how real the emotions from the event that transpired was & that old wounds that havent been tended properly tends to resurface. a couple of things that really stuck with me:

1. both in this and the prev drabble (of the breakup), oc has a lot of inner monologue about how she didnt feel like she is enough and jk’s ability to throw her & their relationship away so easily. but i really liked how in this new story, even though she still thinks about it, she doesnt bring it up anymore bc they’ve talked about it. oftentimes in relationships we tend to overcomplicate and keep bringing up past mistakes that hinders us from moving forward. i love that this is a whole new concern that she has & jk beautifully manages to calm and reassure her.

2. oc is an angel truly bc when i read this all i want is to scream at jk’s face: “PUT YOURSELF IN MY SHOES!!!” i really dont think he can handle: 1. being broken up with after he went home from a TOUR 2. oc giving up on him 3. oc going on a date with someone else 4. everyone else basically being happy that oc is finally not with him

homeboy wouldve lost his mind truly!! oc is a gem i aspire to be her

3. it is so interesting to look at prev drabbles where oc is so careful about not asking anything from jk and never letting him over spoil her (and we’ve seen more cases where she is the one spoiling him!) and to see where it actually stems from. i predicted that the power imbalance of jk’s black card can be intimidating but i didnt think that it’s this deep 🥺🥺 poor oc…. i hope in future drabbles we can see her getting more comfortable in taking what is hers (jk!! so jealous💀) but also, his money. bc that boy has too much of it and i bet he would’ve LOVED to spend it all on her….. jk spoiling oc rotten drabble!!!! 🛍️🛍️🛍️

4 Tabletop Games on Kickstarter you NEED to check out!

Tabletop games are a guilty pleasure of mine, and it is a darn shame I do not play too many of them as often as I can, but I was scrolling through Kickstarter after one of my friends sent a link, so down the rabbit hole I went! Anyways, here are four of the ones that piqued my interest!

1. Familiars and Foes by Horrible Adorables

In this magical strategy board game, you play as one of five elemental familiars to your witch/wizard as they have been…KIDNAPPED! Throughout the game you build up your chosen familiar to become a formidable foe against the foes themselves.

Players: 1-5, with each campaign being anywhere from 20-90 minutes.

Is this Project Funded? Not fully, but very close! This project is an all or nothing one as well, meaning it might get scrapped completely if not fully funded.

Pledge Amount Needed for the game itself: $49.00 USD.

Date the Project Closes Funding: November 3rd, 2022.

2. Heists in Hyperspace by Time Loop Games

Players: 2-4 in a campaign that is planned for 60 minutes.

Is this Project Funded? Not quite but it’s a little over halfway there. Just like the previous entry, it is also an All or Nothing.

This child friendly game also serves as a learning experience on characterization, writing, and reading as well as the art of storytelling. A great introduction to roleplaying for the kids as well.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission is on the warpath—and crypto is in its crosshairs. Over the weekend, The Wall Street Journal reported that the agency intends to sue crypto firm Paxos for issuing BUSD, a stablecoin developed in partnership with the world’s largest crypto exchange, Binance.

The SEC declined to comment, but Paxos, which is based in New York and Singapore, confirmed today that the agency alleges BUSD should have been registered as a security in the US, which requires compliance with complex rules. In a statement, the firm said it “categorically disagrees” that BUSD is a security but has complied with an order from the New York Department of Financial Services to halt the creation of any new BUSD, effectively strangling the coin.

Paxos did not respond to a request for comment. Binance’s chief strategy officer, Patrick Hillmann, declined to comment on how the SEC’s action would affect the exchange but said the firm will be “reviewing other projects to ensure users are insulated from further undue harm.”

The crypto industry is no stranger to conflict with regulators, but the Paxos case is different—and it has sparked a measure of panic and confusion. The concern is that a ruling against the issuing or use of BUSD will set a precedent that could be applied to all stablecoins, striking down a crucial piece of infrastructure in many crypto markets. “If the supply suddenly dried up, the crypto economy would collapse,” says economist Frances Coppola, who previously worked for HSBC and other banks.

Designed to cling to a specific value, usually $1, stablecoins are a critical pillar of the crypto economy. Most are backed by a combination of cash and bonds, which anchors the tokens in circulation to the desired value.

Unlike cash, which can be difficult to move around, especially across borders, stablecoins are “easy and fast,” says crypto analyst Noelle Acheson, formerly of CoinDesk, helping traders jump on opportunities as they arise. They have “opened up an economy on-chain,” says Ram Ahluwalia, CEO of wealth management firm Lumida, allowing money to “flow into and stay in the ecosystem.”

The SEC defines securities as contracts that amount to “an investment of money, in a common enterprise, with a reasonable expectation of profit, to be derived from the efforts of others.” The classification brings with it a range of regulatory and disclosure requirements. If stablecoins were universally determined to be securities, issuers would be required to register them with the SEC, giving the agency a chance to reject coins. Any stablecoins already on the market could be subject to enforcement action.

Bemused members of the crypto industry, including Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao, are now asking how stablecoins can possibly meet the SEC’s criteria, and in particular how crypto coins designed not to fluctuate in value can be said to be sold with a reasonable expectation of profit.

But action against a major stablecoin issuer should be no surprise, says Acheson, because the SEC has said on multiple occasions that it believes some stablecoins qualify as securities. Acheson imagines the regulator will argue that stablecoins like BUSD, backed by their issuer’s holdings of established securities such as government and corporate bonds, are by extension securities themselves and must be regulated accordingly.

Because neither the SEC nor Paxos have specified the nature of the regulator’s complaint, says Ahluwalia, the impact of a potential lawsuit is unclear for now. But it can hardly be good for stablecoin issuers—and could signal more trouble to come.

The move against Paxos is the latest in a volley of enforcement actions launched by the SEC in the aftermath of the collapse of crypto exchange FTX in November. Last week, the regulator announced that crypto exchange Kraken would halt one of its services in the US, after the SEC charged the firm with failing to register a security. And in January, the agency charged crypto exchange Gemini and crypto lender Genesis Global Capital over different services offered to US customers.

This crackdown is being described in crypto circles as Operation Choke Point 2.0—a reference to a program launched by the Obama administration, under which US officials were alleged to have pressured banks into severing ties with disfavored industries like pornography and payday lending.

Coppola says it feels like the SEC’s intention is to “drive crypto entirely offshore,” and out of the US altogether. “The SEC wants to prevent US citizens from interacting with crypto. And I think other countries may follow suit.”

Despite fears the SEC will target stablecoins more broadly, Acheson, Coppola, and Ahluwalia all suspect the agency is taking on Paxos as a way to gain a measure of control over Binance, and that it does not reflect an enmity towards stablecoins in general. Although Binance is by far the world’s largest crypto exchange, it operates only a limited service in the US. But Reuters reports that the US has long believed Binance to have facilitated money laundering activity.

By taking aim at BUSD, the stablecoin that underpins much of Binance’s activity, says Coppola, the SEC can effectively shut the firm off from a source of US dollars. Ahluwalia agrees, suggesting the SEC is looking for creative ways to “defang” Binance. “If you’re a regulator that has suspicions but not jurisdiction, you pull the levers at your disposal,” he says. Binance has always maintained that it plays a central role in helping law enforcement deal with financial crime.

Until the SEC makes its intentions known, though, the crypto industry must wait. “We’re all just guessing,” says Ahluwalia. If the SEC were to go after other stablecoin issuers, like Circle or Tether, the consequences would be severe. Without stablecoins acting as a “bridge” between volatile coins, trading would become more expensive and riskier, says Coppola—and the decentralized finance sector as a whole could topple. “Potentially,” she says, “this could bring down the entire crypto edifice.”

We came to this beautiful town to provide our pre-wedding photography, videography and bridal & hair makeup service for Singaporean bride to be and Malaysian groom to be on a warm sunny day.

The couple's family actually lives there, so they wanted to capture some memory to show their parents before their wedding day in Singapore. It was also the bride-to-be's birthday. It makes the shoot extra special.

We have started our service around 4am with bridal hair styling and grooming for the groom.

We didn't miss the sunrise for our photo and video shoot. It is always good to have low soft light in the shots, as this avoid harsh shadow on the subjects, especially when it comes to the look the couple wants to achieve. At dawn, there are also lesser people on the street, and also cooler weather, which contributes to a smooth photo shoot.

Although, we were planning for a 6 hour shoot with the couple, we ended up provided 4 hours service because of the weather on the sea. It was windy and not too suitable for boat trip. We ended up just taking some shots by the pier with the boat, however, the result looks pretty amazing already.

The town is quite small we couldn't find so many spots to do our photography and videography, but thanks to the years of experience, we have done our best job, and the couple loved the result.

We have also done an interview with the couple when we were on the boat. It makes the video looks more alive with love story. Who doesn't move by love story? May this memory always be recorded, enabling them to watch it over and over again.

We wish them a very happy married life and a happy family ever after.

The Apostle Paul wrote:

Yes, attending with others personally or in an online group is to have spiritual benefits according to the Apostle Paul.

That said, it should be pointed out that all religions are not the same. And not all lead to salvation in this age.

The Pope’s words were warmly welcomed by those present in the hall, which included leaders and representatives of Singapore’s many religious bodies and the large papal retinue. …

This teaching of “Extra Ecclesiam nulla salus” (no salvation outside the Church), has been increasingly rejected by modernizing activists in recent years, yet remains valid and unchanging in the Church’s teaching.

Pope Leo XII pronounced it clearly in his 1824 encyclical letter Ubi Primum:

It is impossible for the most true God, who is Truth Itself, the best, the wisest Provider, and the Rewarder of good men, to approve all sects who profess false teachings which are often inconsistent with one another and contradictory, and to confer eternal rewards on their members. For we have a surer word of the prophet, and in writing to you We speak wisdom among the perfect; not the wisdom of this world but the wisdom of God in a mystery.

By it we are taught, and by divine faith we hold one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and that no other name under heaven is given to men except the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth in which we must be saved. This is why we profess that there is no salvation outside the Church.

Both of those views are wrong.

The Bible does not teach that one needs to be connected to the Church of Rome to be saved. There is nothing even close to that in the entire Bible.

The Bible also does not teach that all religions bring salvation and lead to the true God.

Jesus said:

24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. (John 4:24)

Hinduism, Sikhism, etc. are not true and are not the way to reach God.

Contrary to the claims of those who feel that God will save everyone no matter what they believe, the Bible makes it clear that there is only one name that can save as Acts 4:10-12 plainly teaches:

10 let it be known to you all … that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, …11 This is the ‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’ 12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Muslims, etc. do not accept Jesus in the biblical way and hence their faiths are not the way to God.

While God does have a plan of salvation for those not called in this age (see the free online book: Universal OFFER of Salvation, Apokatastasis: Can God save the lost in an age to come? Hundreds of scriptures reveal God’s plan of salvation), the non-biblical faiths are not the way.

Additionally, the Bible is clear that God does NOT want non-biblical religious practices combined with His ways:

19 What am I saying then? That an idol is anything, or what is offered to idols is anything? 20 Rather, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons. 21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord’s table and of the table of demons. 22 Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He? *1 Corinthians 10:19-22)

Yes, all world religions (as opposed to the true religion) are flawed. And we are seeing more emphasis on interfaith cooperation around the world–and Pope Francis is a leading proponent.

The religious should realize that the Bible opposes the interfaith agenda:

14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? 15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? 16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said:

“I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.”

17 Therefore

“Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.” (2 Corinthians 6:14-17)

Real Christians are NOT to support the interfaith plans. It is leading to the rise of the end time daughter of Babylon (Jeremiah 50:42, 51:33; Zechariah 2:7) which will one day fall:

2 And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird! 3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.” (Revelation 18:2-3)

The Bible itself warns against a coming ecumenical unity–Satan the devil’s unity–which it teaches will be successful as far as many in the world are concerned:

4 They prostrated themselves in front of the dragon because he had given the beast his authority; and they prostrated themselves in front of the beast, saying, ‘Who can compare with the beast? Who can fight against it?’ 5 The beast was allowed to mouth its boasts and blasphemies and to be active for forty-two months; 6 and it mouthed its blasphemies against God, against his name, his heavenly Tent and all those who are sheltered there. 7 It was allowed to make war against the saints and conquer them, and given power over every race, people, language and nation; 8 and all people of the world will worship it, that is, everybody whose name has not been written down since the foundation of the world in the sacrificial Lamb’s book of life. 9 Let anyone who can hear, listen: 10 Those for captivity to captivity; those for death by the sword to death by the sword. This is why the saints must have perseverance and faith. (Revelation 13:4-10, NJB)

The ‘dragon’ listed above is Satan, the devil (cf. Revelation 12:9, 20:2). Here is something from the late Herbert W. Armstrong on the coming worship:
