Not so friendly reminder that antisemites have historically used antizionism as a cover for their antisemitism. a LOT of antizionists are antisemites and antizionist rhetoric has always been influenced by antisemites.

This is why on college campuses with dedicated antizionist groups there's higher rates of antisemitism and shit like this happens. Like antisemitism has been actively rising in general all over but it's been really bad on college campuses and campus Hillels do so much to combat that antisemitism.

If you are someone who even interacts with antizionism please please please be aware of the antisemitic history of antizionism. Please go out of your way to do some research about what zionism is, it's history, the history of antizionism, and general dogwhistles. Even if you don't mean to be antisemitic and think you're not being antisemitic, just do a little bit of research. I'll even provide some links to make it a bit easier.

This is very simplified but it's the first one I could find without antisemitic dogwhistles in it. I do encourage you to do more research after reading this if you can, but this will give you a good overview of what Zionism is

This one is a simple way to figure out if someone is giving legitimate criticism of Israel or is being antisemitic (it can be hard to tell the difference sometimes)

How modern antizionism tends to mirror the Soviet anti-zionist campaign that was used to further oppress Jews in the Soviet Union while dismissing claims of antisemitism

The American Jewish Committee (AJC) glossary of antisemitic dog whistles and explanations of why they're antisemitic

Also, if you're up for it, here's a link to "Der Judenstaat," the book by Theodore Herzl (the person whose credited as the founder of zionism as we know it today) in which he outlines the what and why of zionism. It's also really not so hard to read it's translated into pretty common language and while it looks really long, the actual book is only the bottom half of the page and it's really well organized so you can skim through it easily.

Also, here is a collection of sources about pre-state Israel cause I've seen so much misinformation about it. Just go onto this site explore it pick whatever sources you want

Israel and Palestine includes at least two groups of people who have had a LOT of misinformation spread about them.

What’s your drawing process like? everything’s so cute, id love to see how you put everything tgt

AH thank you <3 My drawing process really isn't anything special, but I can try to give a brief explanation on it!

Basically, my process can be summed up in a few steps, the first step being a sketch. This step is VERY messy and not supposed to be perfect!! It’s basically just laying out the groundwork for what I want the drawing to look like.

And after I have a basic sketch that I’m satisfied with, I clean up the sketch and make it neater! I make the lines look sharper and erase any unneeded sketch lines while also adding some extra details (lineart is very tedious and stressful so I skip it lol). I often use a soft textured brush for this step!

Next I add flat colors to each character (there’s not much else to say about this step- but sometimes I add a texture to the flat colors to make it look softer)

And then I usually add some sort of shading (I use the regular ‘Brush’ tool on Sai with a Multiply layer and often play around with the colors until I like the way it looks. Sometimes I smooth out parts of the shading with the ‘Airbrush’ tool to make it look even softer)! I often add some subtle highlights to the characters in this step as well by using a ‘Shine’ layer

...And last is the final touches (I add the background, tweak any mistakes, etc.) I usually add overlay layers on top to make the colors pop more and turn up the saturation to make it look brighter! Sai also has some really nice filters to make it look extra soft :D

So yeah, that’s basically the gist of it!! Sometimes I do steps a bit differently but this is almost always how it goes (I use Sai for basically all of my art because I like the textures and filters it has and plus I’m too used to it to switch to anything else at this point)

(and here’s an example of slightly softer shading! Not the best example, but hopefully it still makes sense) ^^

how could you not take pictures of him when he's sprawled out on top of you like a house cat?

although he was trying his best not to put all of his weight on you, it was impossible to control himself. especially when his body was quite sore from his new workout routine.

rin was unusually clingy today, his exhaustion was responsible for that. initially, all he needed was to lie down on the bed and let his muscles rest against the mattress— but then he realised you were already there, scrolling through your social media.

he just couldn't say no when you opened your arms and called out to him with that soft voice of yours, and he had already started to dream of the satisfying feeling of your hands running through his hair by that time.

and that's how he ended up with his face nestled in your neck and his legs tangled with yours, much to your enjoyment and his instant regret when you clicked on the camera icon and watched the mess of the dark green hair that tickled your cheek.

he didn't realise anything at first because his eyes were closed and he was actually considering falling asleep right then and there. however, the clicking sound of your phone was enough to make him groan and hide his face further.

but your laugh was so soft yet contagious, right next to his ear, and he was holding onto that one string of hope that you wouldn't record a video of his immediate complaints.

"babyyy, say hi!" you said while doing the exact thing he didn't want you to do— recording a video. it was so fun to get on his nerves sometimes.

all he could do was give the side of your bare hips a light squeeze as he tried his best to speak quietly so the video wouldn't pick up what he was saying. "you make me fucking miserable."

your cheeks hurt from how hard you smiled. "alright, okay. i've got my pictures, im satisfied. i'll leave you alone now."

rin slowly peeked up when you placed your phone on the bedside table and shot a glare as you looked down at him. "you're not posting that. i'm tired of seeing my face on my own feed."

"yeah! totally not posting that."

"y/n." it's become a daily thing for him to use your name in that warning tone. "not even the paparazzi post as many pictures of me as you do."

you rolled your eyes. "it's because i'm your biggest fan. just one?"

"no."

"rinnie, pretty please. you just look so cute. gosh, you look even cuter right now." you tried to soften his edges a bit, feeling your chest implode with love because God, your boyfriend was so effortlessly cute. especially when his tired eyes were covered with his dark strands.

all you got in return was a grunt and rin was back to burying his face in the crook of your neck. he really didn't have the energy to deal with your weird ways of convincing. he just needed sleep, and you— he had both of his favourite things now.

you knew he granted you permission once he stopped, or more like gave up, and thanked him softly.

rin hummed as your hands ran over his neck and shoulders and lightly pressed his stiff muscles. a massage to top it all off, your boyfriend was quite literally seeing stars.

"squeeze harder," he mumbled, exhaling slowly when you did as he told you to.

"so, you've been working out."

he didn't respond, waiting for you to say something more related to that as you pondered while pressing your thumb into his skin to ease out the tension.

"don't i deserve a photo or two?" you proposed, a shameless grin on your face when you heard your lover make another noise in annoyance.

"maybe if you don't post that video," rin said, planting a quick kiss against your warm neck as he continued, knowing he had found a good solution. "i'll send you some."

and a few days later, you realised that it was a pretty good deal.

I'm feeling very defeated and exhausted.

I just finished filing a DMCA yesterday. This new art theft version already has more views than every like/note on all versions of my art on all of my socials COMBINED + multiplied. This art was only posted a few days ago. I'm beginning to deeply regret drawing it.

Art thieves getting views and likes does NOTHING for the community. Imagine of those likes/comments/followers had come to me, on any of my socials. Think of how excited I'd be to connect to new folks, how hyped I'd be to draw more.

(how maybe, just maybe, someone official might one day notice and it might lead to more😭)

I don't think I've hit 10K likes on ANY art I've ever posted on Twitter in 8 years, and certainly nowhere near that on Tumblr in a while. That's ok, I understand that's due to my own lack of skills, which is why i work hard daily to improve!

But ART THEFT DOESN'T HELP. This person did NOTHING but stress me out, make me regret sharing my work, and take away valuable time and mental energy from me producing more work. And I promise you, they will not be able to make my art for you.

Don't worry, I'm not just complaining about it. I've filed a DMCA (tho gosh TikTok's form is WEIRD, really hoping it worked🥲)

you told him to shut up while torturing his hands by gripping on it. gosh, even in this times he could still make you annoyed.

you're very much tired to even answer him. he caressed your face, his smile could reach the skies.

Tony was usually not allowed to go to his father’s workshop. When he was very small, he was able to sneak inside, but the more he grew up, the less frequent it became. Not with Howard becoming increasingly angrier at him.

By the time Tony went to boarding school, he knew better than to bother Howard.

Except, occasionally, his father would take him to the workshop without saying much. He just expected Tony to follow him without protest.

But don’t be mistaken. Tony couldn’t tell Howard about school or his day overall. He couldn’t ask for help with his homework (after all, Tony was supposed to be smart on his own). Their time was strictly professional, not some father and son bonding.

The boy had to be stiff and silent like a rock the entire time, unless Howard asked him to build something while bearing a judgmental glare, already expecting Tony to fail. Either the man would say nothing, or he would straight up say Tony was doing it completely wrong. Regardless, that always meant their lab time was over and Tony would be kicked out of the workshop.

Nowadays, Tony had his own workshop where he allowed anyone to come in, bots or not. Someone in particular has been coming here a lot more.

It’s so different from the past. Tony and Peter are not even working on the latter’s suit anymore. They’ve abandoned their tools and Peter’s homework has been put to a stop. What for?

Peter has been ranting about Star Wars and how unfair it is the way people have been treating some of the new characters from the most recent trilogy.

Arguably, Tony has only seen the original trilogy years ago, but he was never a fanboy. He might not understand everything to the lore, but he’s not at all bored or annoyed by Peter’s long ramble. He’s listening all the way through, never looking away.

Peter seems to have not noticed Tony staring at him with all the attention in the world, because suddenly… The kid gradually quiets down and stops talking, his cheeks turning red in embarrassment.

“... what?” Tony asks, confused. “Why did you stop?”

“Do you think I’m annoying?”

Tony sits closer to him. “No, of course not.”

“Why? I talk too much and- gosh, I’ve been ranting for half an hour about Star Wars…”

“Hey, I don’t mind.”

“But it’s so stupid, Mr. Stark.”

“Kid, it’s not stupid. It matters to you. Besides, you could talk about literally anything and I would listen all the way through.”

“Why?” Peter doesn’t believe him. “Are you just saying that to be nice?”

It hurts Tony hearing the kid’s insecurity.

He squeezes one of Peter’s shoulders.

“Oh, kid… I mean what I say. I like listening to you. I…”

… that word.

Love.

Is he going to say it?

“... I like having you here.”

Ah, dang it.

Still, the light in Peter’s puppy eyes returns. They look like the clean starry sky they can see from upstate. It does sting Tony’s heart how surprised Peter is to hear those words. He feels regret for not letting the kid know how much he likes his company. Tony will make sure to correct that from now on.

He pulls the kid in a half hug, squeezing him. Peter is very stiff at first, but he eventually relaxes and lies against Tony’s shoulder like a cat. If Tony isn’t seeing things, the teen is probably about to cry.

After this, they go back to work. Peter asks for help and Tony guides him. When the kid solves it, Tony praises him.

Then, the two leave the workshop together to eat ice cream and watch a dumb sitcom.

Tony eventually notices Peter has been staring at him with the same stars in his eyes.

But not in a mere fanboyish way.

After that, Peter lies against Tony again.

“I like being here, too,” he says simply.

It shouldn’t be surprising, right?

Still, Tony’s eyes blur.

Nothing rolls down, but truly, he’s not made of iron.

And that’s more than okay.

Tony smiles and lies his head on top of Peter’s, wrapping an arm around the kid.

Maybe he didn’t say what he meant just yet… but maybe Peter knows it.

Still, Tony will say it. He promises that.

Do you have any recommendations for fics where Qui-Gon is a good master/dad to Obi-Wan?

Oh, boy, do I!

Author-wise, I really cannot recommend @the-last-kenobi enough. Definitely the best source for some good master/dad Qui-Gon- they were actually the first SW author I started following! You can find their works here.

The vast majority of the works in my bookmarks under the Qui-Gon Jinn & Obi-Wan Kenobi relationship tag have Qui-Gon being a good master/dad to Obi-Wan, so if you'd like, you can browse those here. Some of my absolute all-time favorites are listed below, but I love everything in my bookmarks!

The Melida/Daan Probation series by @trysomecats has some really good sweet interactions between Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon as they try to rebuild their relationship.

Memory's Betrayal by @maychorian gets me every time. A oneshot with amnesia and Qui-Gon realizing he has the opportunity to do better.

The Recovery series by @firondoiel, @happygiraffe, @luvvewan, and @sanerontheinside is a masterpiece of long-term recovery from a severe injury- both Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon survive Naboo, but Obi-Wan is left severely injured by Darth Maul. An achingly tender read.

I thought I fought this war alone by @stonefreeak, I just-- man, I have no words. It's a oneshot. Go read it. You won't regret it.

the massive machinery of hope by Kilbothtwins (I don't know if they have a Tumblr account) is an absolutely magnificent series- at the end of the war with the Empire, Obi-Wan wakes up in his twelve-year-old body and decides to be an utter BAMF about it. Qui-Gon is not 100% sure what's going on, but he trusts his Padawan and is enjoying himself immensely.

Invitation by @antheiasilva is one of my FAVORITES-- during an awkward Lineage dinner, Obi-Wan finds out that Qui-Gon had a shitty Padawanship and rallies magnificently in his defense. Sweet, well-written, and provides a wonderful glimpse of the budding Negotiator.

Patrilineal by @markwatnae is an absolute delight- with bonus Codywan! General Jinn is dispatched to join the 212th, and Cody can't quite figure out the relationship between him and his General.

I can't imagine that you haven't heard of the Mission Report series by @smilebackwards yet, but just in case, I'll add it here! A brilliantly done series that gets me every time-- Qui-Gon survives Naboo and finally manages to start repairing his Padawan's shredded self-esteem. No lie, this makes me so emotional every time- they care so much about each other and I would die for them both.

Oh, my gosh, and also everything by @deniigi. My favorites are:

Owl Dad Qui-Gon in pines and needles (the follow-up to take flight is equally good, but only mentions Qui-Gon in passing).

poisoned chalice is EXCELLENT for post-Melida/Daan Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon trying desperately to cope.

skipping stones has some fantastic lineage feelings-- Feemor is going absolutely feral over his new Padawan brother. There is a lot of bonding and I am having a lot of Feelings.

And to round it off- sunshine_lollipops_and (also do not know their tumblr) has been putting out some top-notch good dad!Qui-Gon content lately! Learning Curve is, quite frankly, an adorable mission fic, and Tales from Teatime is a series of oneshots that range from hilariously funny antics to heart-wrenching hurt/comfort- all of it equally well-written!

Feel free to add your own recommendations-- I'm sure I'll end up reblogging with more additions soon enough, but I wanted to get this out today!

17/07/2023: I made this post for myself to follow the progress of the story. And now, I can't but laugh since with two chapters written we already have two library scenes... That's Ruki and Yuriko for you. 🤣

19/07/2023: Three chapters in, three libraries visited. Oh my, these two... 😅 Jokes aside, it's so nice to write Elizabeth and Yuriko's interactions but also Ruki and Shin's bickering.

24/07/2023: Oh boy... I felt bad when I had to write another Laito scene. Such a disgusting moment but I think it still serves the story. But I can't wait for writing sweeter scenes between Ruki and Yuriko later...

27/07/2023: I haven't been able to write as fast as I hoped, but I'm still making progress. There are so many tiny things I need to fit into this that I start to regret I decided to follow the game structure. I need to think if I want to do that in future stories or if should I simply make my own structure for those...

Also, I ordered two CG edits yesterday, instead of one. Now, I need to decide which chapter will get one. The other goes to the After Story.

28/07/2023: I hoped I would have reached Ecstasy 10 by today but I guess that was a bit high goal. Still, I'm happy with these results. And damn, I enjoyed writing Ecstasy 08 today.

31/07/2023: Oh my... It was so much fun to write Ecstasy 09 too, even though the chapter isn't happy at all. But I think Yuriko has great moments there. Poor Ruki though...

31/07/2023 || Second Note: I managed to write Ecstasy 10 and start Ecstasy Epilogue. Of course, there is still a way to go with all the endings and the After Story... but I begin to have my skeleton version here. I'm rather positive that the first draft might be finished in August. Of course, there are editing rounds to come but still... I'm pleased about this.

02/08/2023: I wrote both Brute and Manservant Ends... and oh boy, that was quite a trip. Prepare yourself for a yandere Ruki. Now, I only have Vampire End, After Story, and Special chapter left before it's time to write all the smut scenes~ My reward is almost here! 💙

03/08/2023: I finished the first draft of the Vampire End. Huh, that was quite a roller coaster. The text is terrible at the moment though, such bad writing... but since I'm going to edit the story anyway, I don't mind it at this point.

Also, my goal was 30 000 words for this story but I guess I will go past that since I reached it already and there are still things I need to add. Like all smut scenes.

04/08/2023: OH MY GOSH! The story's first draft is pretty much finished. Only the smut scenes are missing from the main story.

I will work on the special story a bit later since it won't be released on Tumblr but in the ebook version of the story. So, the next project is to scribble three different types of smut scenes. 😏 The fourth and last one will be at the end of the special chapter.

09/08/2023: Haa... I have such huge writing urges but I got an unexpected job offer for three weeks and now I'm all stressed out and tired whenever I have free time... 😢 I should stop saying yes to these odd job offers, I guess... since I already have the job I love. But I'm bad at saying no... Buuut I managed to start the first smut scene! I hope I have the energy to finish it tomorrow or the latest at the weekend.

12/08/2023: I just finished the first smut scene of the story... and I think it's the dirtiest one so far in the whole His Possession. 🙈😳 The next ones won't be this dirty I think, since they serve different purposes for the story... But gosh, I rarely turn into a blushing mess because of my own writing but this... We'll see if I edit it milder or not... 🫣

17/08/2023: Finished the second smut scene. So now, there is one to go for the main story (there will be one in the special chapter too). Soon, I can leave this story in Ruki's admin's care. Though... tbh, it might still take a while since I have been so damn tired after work. Writing has become slow and difficult because of this. But I'm trying my best. I want to publish this story by the end of this year.

20/08/2023: The main story is finished. 🥳 I will write the special later, but everything else is now drafted. Of course, there will be a lot of editing and I might even add scenes here and there but mostly the story is now formed.

Anyway, the next step is to give this in @ruki-mukami-dl's hands but I'm positive that everyone else can read it before this year ends. So, look forward to that.

09/10/2023: I got the special chapter back from @ruki-mukami-dl today. I still need to make some fixes in it, but it's mostly done. It will be published only in the ebook version of the story. But it will bring almost 20 pages worth of extra content. The chapter will be in Ruki’s point of view, and it can be rather triggering for sensitive people. But it surely was interesting to write together with Ruki’s admin 💙

Other than that, I'm making the cover for the printed book on the weekend. So, the ebook's cover is on its way, too. Then, just one final CG edit and everything is ready for November. Ah, I can’t wait to share the story!

Oh Valentine’s Day–A day that’s supposed to be full of love and positive vibes from the people around you who love you, yet here you were, very much single.

You envied the people around you who had a love life and someone to expect things from on Valentine’s Day. Was it too much to ask for just someone to hug and call your own on this day? Yet you had no one.

Or so you thought.

You were surprised to see a letter hung on the front door as you were about to leave, addressed to you. It could be from no one other than your roommate and close friend, Bakugou–also known as Pro Hero Dynamight.

You grab the letter and start to read it;

I’m only writing you this stupid letter because I know you’ll probably wake up feeling sad today, well not on my watch. Happy Valentine’s Day, baby. And no I’m not about to confess to you or anything gross like that, you’re like a younger sibling to me.

Anyway, I know how badly you want to find a partner in life. Someone you can call your own and have to celebrate on days like these. You tell me any chance you get how lonely you are and how desperate you are to find someone in your life. I get it. Life can get lonely, but you’ll find someone eventually.

The right person is out there looking for you as well, you just have to be patient and wait for them to appear. And I hope you know that whoever you meet has to go through me. If they can’t handle me then they can’t handle anyone.

In the meantime though, I’ll be here for you. I hope you appreciate that, I don’t go around saying that to everyone. I’ll bring you back some flowers…gosh I’m going to regret saying that after reading all the headlines of love scandals. Jeez, the things I do for you.

The guy was a total brute at times, and wasn’t afraid to say what was on his mind, especially if you annoyed him, but you were grateful to have him. Especially on a day like today. He’s always lent you his ear even if it looked like he wasn’t actually listening, he listened to every complaint you had.

Every word you’d ever uttered to him was important and he just proved that.

Maybe this wasn’t your time to have a partner, but there was still a whole year ahead of you with many possibilities.

Cry about Bastion.

I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ASK FOR THREE YEARS.

(First of all, might I recommend listening to this song while you read this post. Because this song is the song I have inextricably tied up with all my thoughts about Bastion. The nature theme. The lyrics about turning away from war. The lyrics about regret and seeking redemption. The whistle that gosh darn whistle don't you hear it, it's about the whistle-!)

Because Bastion is a character about reconciling with your own damage, both the damage to yourself and the damage you are capable of inflicting on others. They're about getting a second chance and choosing to do good with it. They're about overcoming the cycle of violence. They're about choosing your own destiny and not letting the past define you.

Yes, Bastion is the Iron Giant. "You are who you choose to be", except that their life begins with this statement instead of ending with it, leaving them to pick up the pieces. They have to build a life for themself based on this knowledge; this journey will bring them into the arms of their creator and eventually to Overwatch, the organization formed to destroy their kind.

It's about not wanting to fight but then choosing to fight for your friends anyway, because some things are worth fighting for.

It's about overcoming trauma. It's about overcoming your worst base impulses because you want to be better. (God, I hope Reinhardt is involved this one. God I can hope.)

It's about "I killed many of your kind here, Bastion. . ."

It's about "Rest now, E54."

The final part that makes me cry, of course, is the fact that most of the fandom's character read on them stops at "robot baby" and THAT is the final thing that breaks me. There's no content for my favorite bot and that leaves me absolutely inconsolable.

Junior Eurovision 2023 detailed opinions before the show. Part 1

Well, as I told you in my previous post where I made my tier-ranking for this year's Junior Eurovision, I will now make a new explanation about my opinion of each song by tier! As my second live-watch JESC, I'm very hyped to see how this year goes since it's more of a ballad edition, I got more than one winner, and well the live decides it all!

Let's start from the lowest to the highest tier!

Tier 5: "I heard better ones in previous years"

🇮🇹 Melissa and Ranya "Un Mondo Giusto"

First of all, I will clarify I don't have any beef with this or other song in low places. I'm more open in JESC, I support the kiddos, and also, the songs are at least decent compared to some songs of the adult edition I really hate or just bore me. But since there are a lot of entries I like from this year, the first one really didn't catch me too much compared to others.

For being their first song in JESC, Melissa and Ranya sing so good in a duo. The raspy voice of Melissa caught me off-guard with the soft singing of Ranya. And somehow, the combination goes well for the song, apart of the main melody and the Italian talent. But for being a ballad between others this year, it doesn't surprise me too much. Like Albania last year with "Pakez Diell". And I regret right now saying Chanel Dilecta's "Bla Bla Bla" was the downgrade of the downgrades after Elisabetta Lizza's "Specchio" in 2021; at least Chanel's song would have been more than welcome in the train of ballads of this year.

I really hope the live version in Nice boosts them a lot. Because they have potential nevertheless. They are nice girls! :D

🇬🇪 Anastasia and Ranina (still Oto and Nikoloz for me) "Over the Sky"

I had better hopes for the Georgian trio this year. Like, it was a surprise for me when GPB decided to call two Ranina finalists, Oto Bazerashvili and Nikoloz Kharati, to join Anastasia Vasadze (Ranina 2023 winner and direct representant of Georgia in JESC 2023) for this edition. And well, a trio already won the Junior contest in 2008 and Ranina always delivers potential winners, so surely they would have a song to get their fourth victory, right?

First with the good things, the song itself is good. Calm and more serene, but good. And the trio really works here, even the boys have their moment to shine! (considering they decided to make Anastasia the main singer and call the male duo "Ranina", something that still bugs me). The music has good potential. And the lyrics inspire me, even the "Ranina, hey!" chant. But with the downsides, not the best song I expected for them after hearing a masterpiece like Mariam Bigvava's "I Believe" last year (and other songs from Georgia in previous editions). Not bad, but softer in vibes than 2022.

Hearing the rumours of two expert ballet dancers joining them for the live version, I think a good staging can deliver this song to a well-placed position still (and if possible, maybe win?). Just to wait.

Tier 4: "Unlikely but potential Top 5/Winners(?)"

🇦🇱 Viola Gjyzeli "Bota Ime"

To think I had this one at the bottom of my list before the revamp. As someone who listened (at work) the Junior Fest 2023, I thought "no way, they gonna choose another Pakez Diell again" due to most songs (and the contest itself) being soft; and "Bota Ime" 's first version didn't surprise me when it won. But when I thought it would be in the lowest place for the list, the revamped version came in the YT channel of JESC and my gosh, what a glow up!

It's still not, as a popular TV phrase in Mexico says, "Que bruto, pero que temazo!" ("What a bop!"). But the studio version gave the song the strength it needed a lot. Viola's voice sounds so whimsical and with class. The entry is way less plain than Pakez Diell at least. And as for the lyrics (the same one that wrote Duje made this? WOAH), if the studio video made them have sense, I wonder how will the live deliver that "own fairyland" feeling I appreciate of the song.

I really hope they keep the vibes and world-setting for the live version. To see them ruining it would be devastating for this song.

🇬🇧 Stand Uniqu3 "Back To Life"

After Freya Skye's SLAY (even if sick bc of cold night ceremony, darn you, EBU) in Yerevan with "Lose My Head", I knew United Kingdom wouldn't play easy. Sure, Mae Muller's "I Wrote A Song" placed at the last places in Liverpool (something I won't forgive alongside LOTL's unfair last place and "Solo" at the grand final >:U), but in JESC they would still give fiery competition! And we have "Back To Life"

A group in Junior Eurovision is always welcome in my list. And Maisie, Yazmin and Hayla (the girls) really got some good vocals and energy for their song! Sure, not too great compared to Freya's entry and queen vibes, but the song itself is awesome (and necessary given the time, when a lot of ballads were revealed)! They remind me a lot of Fifth Harmony imo, maybe by vocals or the entire energy they give in the song.

If the staging and live version can upgrade their entry to a new level than it is already, maybe United Kingdom can get some justice for what they did to Mae and get a good placing!

🇫🇷 Zoé Clauzure "Cœur"

As always, I expect for the host/winning country in a Junior edition to have a good "defender entry", a song that shows the world they're not playing safe just because they won once and/or host the contest. France did it with Enzo's "Tic Tac" (even if the Discord fandom despises him fsr), Armenia with Nare's "Dance!" (and they really ALMOST WON TWICE A ROW like Poland in 2018-2019). And I had my hopes high for France (again XD) after Lissandro's win

For being a French JESC song not written by legend (and idol for some of my mutuals) Barbara Pravi, this one takes the cake for being as French as possible (in a good way) and still be likeable for every audience! Zoe's vocals sound SO CLASSY for someone so young, and the song itself could easily be confused for an adult Eurovision entry (with some tweaks). And yeah, the entry reminds me A LOT of La Zarra's "Évidemment" (another Big 5 robbed entry this year, no wonder she gave everyone the finger and left the Green Room before the end of the votes). Not of my 100% favorites or a song I see winning JESC 2023, but I still love it.

At this point I wonder if they will pull a "Paris/France reference" in the live staging (like La Zarra did this year, queen), because the song itself is so wonderful it screams good live version!

Oh nooo, I'm disliking where this is going. Just as I wanted to make appreciation post about the world's greatest bestie, Su-jin, she goes and starts turning against Ju-kyung. Backstabbing her, being more fake than Ju-kyung's face covered in make up.

Girl you were my favourite, I was sincerity thinking how your friends are so lucky to have you as a friend. I literally wanted to quote Ju-kyung when she said she'd be happy to have a bf like you. Whyyyy, why did you turn into a snake? And why is this series so relatable, I'm not even in highschool (⁠╥⁠﹏⁠╥⁠)

It's as if Seo-jun's spirit possessed her. Consequently, he goes through major change of character as well. He starts respecting Ju-kyung's choice and her feelings for Su-ho. He even tells her to get off work and make up with him. He decides to cover for the shift. And the balance is restored in such a lousy way and not at all. Seo-jun is now much more sincere than her bestie who's had her back since the beginning. In which universe does that happen? In this universe, and all too often, unfortunately...

They switched their inner demons for real. Gosh, they simply could have paired Su-jin and Seo-jun before all of this mess and call it even. I mean, even their names look good together.

But this dynamics of both Ju-kyung and Su-ho going through the exact same challenges, friends-wise. His ex bestie is after his gf. And her (soon ex) bestie is after her bf. The phuck. Seriously.

God, I knew there'd be a point Su-jin starts turning into the cinnamon roll. I knew I'd regret typing such a long post (rant) about him. Ok, I don't regret it. He was a real jerk before. No excuses for that.

If all this isn't already enough, our main girlie is breaking up with Su-ho. Like no! no! No!!!!!!!

Honestly, I feel so sorry for Su-ho in all of this. He didn't even get a sorry for those stupid photos all over the school. Fine, she isn't the one who put them up there but still. Why would a gf not tell her bf for a professional photo shooting in the first place? I'd brag to my bf first thing. I'd want him to know everything. But then...we're all different. And the fact that he doesn't even want to talk to that fake bestie is everythiiiing. He probably knows about her feelings and he doesn't want to give her any false hope. He's being really cautious and loyal. And then gets blamed. I guess it will also be his fault that Su-jin turned her back on her own friend and fell for a taken guy?? Give this socially awkward fluffball a break already!

Then that song release?? Seriously??? I bet that Leo guy is Su-ho. And he hears the real truth about what triggered his dear friend to end his life. But that is not all. Of course that is not all.

Then this happens.

Of all things, WHY?!

Both of these guys have been through enough. Every character in this story has been through so much, can't they just give us a comedy and a happy ending. I'm emotionally exhausted. Really.

I don't know how many people remember... Gosh, it must have been like. 2018 to 2019 or something. But very briefly in the dst artist community there'd been a trend where all the most popular artists would get together and make these long, long posts of art-rp with one another, just drawing their own collaborative little comic.

The concept was fun, and of course the execution of the art itself was really interesting, but that was at a point in time where there was a pretty significant drought in dst content (the Gorge had just ended around that time iirc, and we were all pretty tuckered out while awaiting the next big thing), so you just. could not log onto Tumblr without seeing the same steadily lengthening thread over and over and over for days on end. It was insane it produced massive amounts of delirium.

As someone in the writing rp community (who still is in the writing rp community hiii besties hiii), I thought to myself "you know I'm sure this wouldn't be that hard to do. I could get the besties together and we could do one of those artsty rp thread things and nothing could possibly go wrong."

It completely fell apart after a week. But the concept was really fun and I always regretted letting it fizzle out and die even if it was for the best bc my art SUCKED back then. Eventually there was a point where I just went... "well, I still really like the plot. In theory I could just... write it myself, if I wanted to?"

And from there, Feed the Roses entered its infancy: my Don't Starve Roseate Murder Mystery. If all goes according to plan I hope to have it done by valentines day bc.... well. ya know how it is with roses.

THAT UPDAAAAAAATE!!!

SPOILERS FOR CHAPTER FOUR JUST IN CASE ANYONE SCROLLS BY THIS BUT HASN'T GOTTEN A CHANCE TO READ THIS CHAPTER!!!!

I chose to make my MC childhood friends with Garamond (my first option for a playthrough every update before I try the others because that route is my favorite - second being weredad - but I absolutely love the little bits of text we get with the other options), then had him turn MC, and that line you get referencing back to how MC wondered when they would become a werewolf really added to the scene.

I am curious though how MC's mom would react. My MC suggested visiting home when everything was over and just the thought of trying to explain to mom how her child suddenly grew somewhere from a couple inches to a couple feet and is significantly harrier than the last time they visited is both hilarious and terrifying 🤣

(...Though I feel it might be harder to explain if her child's skin had grown pale and cold, their heart had stopped beating...I don't even know if vampires can eat, so they probably wouldn't even be able to enjoy her roast anymore 😢...I'm suddenly a lot more sure of choosing to make the childhood friend MC a werewolf...)

I can't wait to see Pamina, Cal, and Katja again! And I especially can't wait to see their reactions! I do hope Pamina won't blame herself though, I would feel terrible if she did.

Not even going to bring up Maverick's uncle because I'm sure I'd be going on a full on rant if I did 😤 but, yeah, definitely looking forward to the next update!

(I've finally managed to work up the courage to post something. It's super early in the morning, like 4 AM, (yes, I did play this all night and I regret nothing) but I had to comment about this before I went to bed. Sorry if it's a bit disorganized or a little all over the place, and I probably didn't really get my point across, but I guess what I'm trying to say is great work as always and I'm excited to see what's next!)

I absolutely love getting to see people's excited reactions the events of the game like this, structured or not, and it means a lot to know that the game resonated with you to a point where you felt compelled to reach out :D

I'm very glad that the tiny changes in text depending on the chosen backstory aren't going unnoticed; I love trying to make little callbacks where I can and I felt it made sense that the MC's mind would reflect on that moment given the circumstances. I'd also like to go back and add some more bits of unique text for the other backgrounds sometime, too

And it's a good thing to be curious about, I think! You're definitely correct that the MC turning and the resulting changes to their appearance have the potential to interfere with visiting family again, and it's even something that can be mentioned in-game in the vampire route given the physical changes are, like you said, much more obvious and drastic

(You're also correct that vampires can't eat regular food, so sadly that means no more home-cooked meals for them; but on the plus side, at least the traveling rations will last longer? If you feel like being an optimist haha)

Werewolves on the other hand at least have the advantage of still being able to pass for humans in most cases, and clothing can be used to hide the additional bulk and hair; but anyone who's familiar with the MC's appearance already will probably still be able to notice a difference. The change to height is only a couple of inches, though, so you don't have to worry about suddenly towering over everyone. I've commented before about werewolves generally being quite tall but that only applies to born lycanthropes, and they grow into it naturally overtime much like a tall human would

While the MC can only speculate on what their family's reaction to their change would be, I can say that: 1) none of the living family members have done anything to this point to indicate they would readily embrace the MC's status as a supernatural, and 2) the mother from the childhood friends backstory has the strongest relationship with the MC, so if anyone would accept the change, it would be her; while the family business backstory Wolfsbane parents are the least likely to be accepting (and indeed the MC can say as much)

As for Pamina and company's reactions... we'll have to wait and see haha. The MC can at least be confident that Pamina is far more accustomed to the supernatural than most, but it's still no small thing

And the dislike towards Isidore Rosenway is certainly understandable lol, even if he does genuinely believe himself to be doing the right thing (depending on your choices to that point, at least)

It was fun to get to discuss some of these things! I think you were perfectly coherent and your enthusiasm brought a big smile to my face and really brightened my day! Thank you again for the message, and I hope you get some good sleep 🧡

Kiya infodump to me about Miruko/Burnin

Where do I even begin?!

I just know I love them together (and separately) enough to make my new theme permanently!

(And this is where it gets long I had no idea it would be! I really thought I had little to say, I'm so sorry! I just ramble! 😭)

First off, they have no right being that gorgeous! No right!

Second, no right being that badass! (I swear if I see one more person hate on a female character for the same thing they love a male character for, kneecaps gone.) I mentioned it in a post way back about Miruko, but the fact that she just has rabbit features and made it to be #5 WITH NO AGENCY is just insane to me in a good way. Rabbits are fast and I don't doubt are strong, but how strong Miruko is?! WHAT?! She's insanely strong and we only got a glimpse of that at the end of season 4 (if you're an anime only). This next season is going to showcase more of her badassery and I hope they do my girl justice. And Burnin?! Okay, first off I love her design. The sharp teeth and finger(nails?) is something I didn't think I'd see on a fire user in their series. And her hair? I want my hair that color. I really love that she can actually throw chunks of her hair like fireballs. That pleases me very much. I know people like Dabi's fire, I like it too it's blue, but Burnin with flaming yellow-green hair that she can fly with and pull pieces of it to throw at people is just a little more cooler to me. Overall, I want to see them fighting together. I want to see Miruko and Burnin taking down bad guys together. Throwing fireballs and kicking.

Third, their personalities???!!! They're both passionate at what they do what they do with "I don't take no shit" attitudes and I just adore them for that. Yes, they are definitely like Katsuki in personality and damn it it's glorious! It's funny both Miruko and Burnin have their moments where they had some sort of clash with Katsuki. I love that. Because even with similar personalities they still don't let that get in the way of their end goal which is taking down the bad guy. Honestly, I feel like if Burnin and Miruko got to actually have a face to face, their personalities would clash but they would definitely see eye to eye so quickly and go "I like her!"

I swear that whole writing challenge made me realize I am a definite mess for these women. I gotta write more Miruko/Burnin content like now before I lose my mind. Might even add them in my "There's Miruko, There's Rumi" story because Miruko deserves to have a girlfriend who would kick ass with her, also spend nights cuddling with her and give her embarrassing nicknames and banter with for laughs. I just... I have no regrets with that series of fics of them just being together. Oh my gosh, every time I got to writing a story I had to pause and go "WHY?! WHY IS THIS SO 😭😭😭" I just adore both characters and writing content for them just makes me even happier. I need to write more soft content for them. More content of them teaming up, more content of them bantering, more content of them being soft girlfriends/wives (one of the stories they're married), JUST MORE CONTENT!

If you ever get a chance to read the fic, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did writing it. It was by far the hardest thing I wrote this year because there was so little to work with, but other than "BotB", it has became a top favorite.

whenever i want to feel worthless, it's somehow because i ended up opening instagram. why is that? because, somehow it's both a relic of the past and also a window to the present. and they're both making me sad, in retrospect to the future i should be thinking.

i scrolled past the DM i sent. bad decision. very, very bad decision. because i think i can hold conversation, looking back. i can talk, so long as the other person, wants to, you know. but at the moment, back then, i've been so engulfed in feeling awkward or saying the wrong words or thinking of how it sounded. i still am, maybe, i don't know. i also tend to not send anything back when i don't know what to say...

i know i shouldn't be dwelling on the past, but it's not like i tried a big effort to fix my mistakes the past three years, aren't i? instagram is a pretty big thing for social communications. people make stories about what they're doing, and sometimes other people commented it in DM, that's where small talks goes. that's pretty much how most people keep up with what happens in their life without meeting them face-to-face. i don't know. other times people make posts, and others commented them. or liked them.

why the heck have i been stopping using it, then?

well... i think most of the problems i encountered can be traced back to... my... unrational thoughts... being anxious.... being so fucking pessimistic about everything... feeling like a coward... having low confidence and zero self-esteem... thinking like everybody hates me and that i'm a bother... thinking everyone noticed the way my hair falls out... feeling so fucking ugly... feeling so fucking out of place... inability to talk... having no hobbies... embarassed of my taste in music... damned stupid... too prideful and arrogant... inability to adapt... being a burden... a laughstock... someone who can't even talk... worthless... useless...

and feeling like that is so, soul-sucking. it's been a while since i've even felt like this. gosh... and it's horrible. maybe distraction isn't so bad if i don't have to feel like this all the time... because those thoughts aren't true, but sometimes it felt like they're the only things i cling onto in my head... and it's so difficult to untangle it. let alone stopping having these thoughts...

fuck. i feel like crying... i know i regret a lot... i've been having dreams about high school because i missed being able to try, to be pushed and to be helped... having a purpose... but also feeling not so lonely... i missed it so bad...

i don't make good decisions in life, and i'm still here, breathing. that's a good thing... i know there's always hope, but i don't know if i... i don't know if i believe that i could leave this... kind of mentality... i couldn't even believe in myself... i'm scared. said that a lot, that it loses it meaning...

this kind of feeling... it felt so embarassing to have... because it should be easy, it's a common living skill... and here i am... punishing myself over something i'm struggling with... what did i do wrong? just why am i struggling so bad...

i want to be free, shave my hair off to never think about it again. join book clubs so that i can talk about what i read. going abroad. befriending someone. heck, who knows, even maybe i even want to kiss someone in the future. i want to sing my ass off with all my crappy voice in a karaoke. i want to smile and take photos... i want to go abroad and feel how the four seasons are.

but...

i can't even do the very simple thing of talking... of befriending someone... of being someone else's someone. i don't learn and i don't change...
