I am currently writing a fic with this premise but for now I’ve just got a vague outline

To start off, this was kind of inspired by Watcher’s Crown by Cloudkissed. I just love that song sm

Anyway

MAG 200. Jon is stabbed. He wakes up Somewhere Else.

Martin doesn’t follow him.

Jon is distraught, but because the Web is still attached to him, Annabelle forges him some documents.

He chooses the name Timothy James Blackwood.

He then wallows in his own self loathing for a while before he actually leaves his new flat, but he eventually at some point goes to a bar.

At this bar, he meets Bertie.

He and Bertie become friends and eventually a qpr because I love writing qprs and they deserve it honestly.

Then, GPTVTMK happens

I think Jon-Tim probably only went crazy because of the influence of the Slaughter, but after the whole event leans more into it than the Eye

His mechanism would probably cut him off a bit from the Eye but not fully as he gets new ones rather than staying blind

I havn’t figured out how the other Mechanisms would find out but I want to bring Mike Crew and Gerry into it somehow. I’m so sad abt them being dead :crying_emoji:

Maybe I’d even bring in Oliver!! Idk yet

Also, I‘m going to play around with TBI a bit, since in the Lovecraft mythos Yog-Sothoth is also called the All-Knowing and it would be interesting to play with the parallels between it and the Eye.

Plus I think Jon-Tim would be able to give Lyfrassir tips about being an avatar if I go that route with them.

Also, if anyone else has ideas for this, feel free to share!

au where when martin calls jon's bluff in season 4 (? its been a while idk where exactly) about stabbing their eyes out and running away together, they go fuck you no and actually go through with it. they then go to their only other friends, their former band mates like heeyyy i just disabled myself and cant really live alone rn help 🙏 and boom somehow they restart the mechanisms. jon gets cool steampunk prosthetic eyes. they look like this. (image under the cut). oh yeah they/them jon because they deserve it

His need to BOND!!!! His tendency to do things with GROUPS!!! With other people!!!!! Because he wants connection with people!!!!!! His love for the octokittens, his human want to bond with and take care of them!!!!!! The fact that no matter how much he goes through, no matter what he experiences, he will be terribly, deeply human!!!!!
