ok i have a lot of things to say about theatre but wjat i will post is this: just because angels in america could do minimalist sets with neon lights as accents doesnt mean every regional production and their mother should ditch detailed sets for mininmalism and neon (led) strips

A Dinner Owed
Prologue
“Until we meet again, I wish thee every possible fortune. Health, wealth, love, and above all, problems worth solving.” The recently unretired God of Death said – a goblet of wine held aloft.
Raphael stood at the edge of the party, just outside the glow of the various torches. Milil had seen him and had given him a polite nod in greeting – returned respectfully by the devil across camp – but no other attention was drawn to him yet. He shifted his weight onto his right leg, leaning against the smooth bark of a deciduous tree as he eyed the merrymakers.
“To you.” Jergal toasted, a cheer rose, and everyone lifted their cups before drinking. Though the mingling continued, a few of the attendants began to depart.
First went the drow. Raphael was surprised that she had even attended in the first place. He had no interest in dealing with her directly but followed her work closely. When the Baenre child enacted her plans to collapse the hierarchy of Menzoberranzan, he knew that a feast of souls and of desperate, haughty drow nobles would await his ever-helpful hand.
The gith girl left soon after, proudly declaring that her war needed her swift return. Gith were renowned warriors but so easily brought to heel by their superiors that Vlaakith’s deceit had continued for centuries. Though the Prince of the Comet had made a great personal sacrifice in accepting ceremorphosis on himself, from what Raphael had heard, little Lae’zel was blazing a path through the Astral Sea on her own. Whatever her might, it would not be straightforward to dethrone the Lich Queen –
He kept close tabs on the warrior. When the time was most opportunous he may be inclined to reveal Gith’s location – still alive in Baator. And, once he ruled the Hells, who better to liaison with for her Great Mother’s freedom?
Next to depart was the wizard. Mystra had forgiven the poor sod – for now. Tabs were kept on him, too, though his occupation as a professor made him much easier to track. Raphael had little doubt that the fickle, cradle-robbing Goddess would tire of her twisted plaything, leaving Mr. Dekarios in desperate need of a savior with enough magic to feed the voracious orb in his chest. Conveniently, Raphael would be able to provide – given a reasonable trade.
Karlach and Wyll Ravengard, now dubbed the Blade of Avernus, would linger for as long as Jergal would allow. He did not need to keep track of them; rather, his troops had strict orders to stay well out of their warpath. They were a mild inconvenience now, and hopefully, they would gratefully fall into their place once Zariel was deposed. They would be welcome to stay in his Avernus if they chose to, but he would not tolerate their massacring his armies.
He had continued work in Baldur’s Gate as he had around the rest of Toril, still gathering souls. The Karsite Weave may not need them, but having the extra power at his force’s disposal was welcome. And, in keeping with his deal with the adventurers, the Crown stayed securely tucked away – still on his person, of course – but not in use when he did what he did best.
In his visits to the city over the few months following the resolution of the Absolute Crisis, he’d heard tell of a nighttime vigilante cutting down the criminals of the city left otherwise free to wreak havoc by the corrupt lawmakers.
The spawn would be getting his warm and fuzzy feelings by playing hero for a time – but Raphael need not put any effort into tracking his whereabouts or goings on. Eventually, likely sooner than most would wager, he would see Astarion again – when the vampireling sought him out in a bid for the sun. The longer he held out, the more likely it would be that Raphael could deliver – and deliver more completely – but of course, the price would also be higher as time wore on and the devil’s power grew. With the first violet hues painting the early morning sky, the night-bound spawn had taken his leave to retreat into the dark.
The Sharran turned Selunite was so low on his radar that she’d apparently left without his notice. Aside from her soul, she had little to offer the scheming devil, and given all she’d already put it through with Shar, he was sure she would be reluctant to wager it.  All he knew of her time post-Crisis was that she and her parents were traveling. As long as they didn’t get in his way, he had no further interest.
The former archdruid also left early despite being well into his cups. Raphael had not returned to Reithwyn since meeting with the band of heroes at Last Light and was truly looking forward to seeing how the land had changed.
Oh, how he had reveled in the perverted shadow over the land and in the many souls he had harvested from the despair it caused. But tragedy was not useful only when the tragedy was taking place. The resolution of tragedy could bear its own bounty of opportunities. The Shadow Curse had laid waste to the region for over a century – and like many wounds, the healing would take much longer than the infliction.
He did not know if the Harper leader would be there, as well, though she had left along with the other druid.
The lumbering Rashimi fighter was keeping the two infernally damned companions busy for the moment. Raphael was sure the hamster had spotted him across the clearing, though it seemed that the rodent had not made this knowledge known yet to the Rashimi nor the pair drinking merrily with him and dancing to Milil’s enchanting music.
This left Raphael’s true target on their own, sitting for the moment, their mind no doubt hazy in their celebratory imbibing. He started toward them, meeting eyes with Jergal, who impassively looked on for a moment, and rested a hand on Tav’s shoulder while taking the half-full goblet from their other hand. Still near the edge of the party space, the remaining companions had not noticed him.

I know you mentioned your favourite episodes, but do you have a favourite scene or favourite moment from Loonatics Unleashed? Or a favourite villain?
Admittedly, while writing my response, I realized that my all time favorite moments of this entire show are from fanfictions (LOL). I think that this says a lot about the creativity of the Loonatics Unleashed fandom; this fandom is very willing to experiment with the show's concepts and characters. I love how much this fandom has added to my enjoyment of this show. It fills me with lots of joy to read other people's interpretations of this show's characters and setting...
Okay. With that out of the way, here is my actual answer:
One of my personal favorite moments of the entire show is in the episode Going Underground (season 1, episode 5).
Here is some context for why this is my favorite LU scene:
I became interested in general Looney Tunes via The Looney Tunes Show (specifically the reactions by Spilling the Milk, a YouTube trio that watches cartoons).
My first exposure to Loonatics Unleashed was through this video (Rev and Tech's Best Moments). This scene (shown above) was the third clip of the video. And I vividly recall the SHOCK that I felt when I first watched it.
My jaw was agape. Honestly, I think that I screamed. Even if I didn't scream, I was definitely shocked.
At this time, I still wasn't used to Rev talking so quickly, and so I was caught off guard by how much Rev said in such a short time.
I have replayed this scene an inordinate amount of times, and I can't stop loving it. Everything is perfect. The vocal delivery from Rev's voice actor (Rob Paulsen) is HILARIOUS. This scene clearly shows Rev's best qualities: he is talkative, nice, and accomodating. The other Loonatics walking to view the scene is COMEDY GOLD. Here, Rev's dialogue is PERFECT. LITERALLY PERFECT.
IT'S SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This clip solidified Rev x Tech in my mind.
Other than this scene, pretty much any TechRev interaction is a favorite of mine (especially in The Family Business and The Heir From Up There). I can recite certain portions of Rev and Tech's interactions since their banter is really fun.
Furthermore, most of the scenes that include Rev are my favorites, too. However, there is a special type of Rev scene that vivifies me.
All of these scenes include Rev being overjoyed while he is stimming:

(top: The Comet Cometh; bottom left: Weathering Heights; bottom right: Sypher)
I can only partially describe the glee that I get from these scenes, but I will try...
I LOVE HIM SO MUCH I CAN'T HANDLE IT
FJIRKPHMKFSLJMBLJPQJFDFSDFWETJQPEEJGMXZB
JUST LOOK AT HIM
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
EVEN ACE IS HAPPY TO SEE REV'S HAPPINESS
IT'S SO PERFECT
MY CHILD DESERVES TO BE HAPPY
LET HIM TALK!
(my live reaction to seeing the these scenes for the first time)

*end rant*
As for my favorite villain, I think that it's a toss-up between Melvin the Martian and Mastermind.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes, I know that these two villains are from my favorite episodes, but they both are so good in their respective roles.
For Melvin, it is incredibly apparent that Melvin has full capability of destroying Acmetropolis. And so, the Loonatics needed to use more than their powers or Tech's technology to defeat him.
As for Mastermind, her previous connections with Tech's past and her manipulation of technology is really well done. Her infiltration of the Loonatics HQ is really smart, and if Tech did not have the EMP, then Mastermind would have won.
To summarize, both villains have actual stakes; they can't only be beaten by Tech's technology. This is way better than an episode like Loonatics on Ice, where Tech's "Retro Fire Master Blaster" just fails to melt the iceberg. I have no idea why Tech's technology failed to melt the iceberg. If anything, this just feels like it is discrediting Tech's knowledge.
Tumblr media
In contrast, both villains' powers requires the entire team to unite together. It's great.
Also, both of these villains are just iconic. At least to me. They are A LOT more iconic than other villains like the Ice Vikings or Adolpho.
Thanks for the question!

You're the #1 person i think would answer this in earnest so, what do you think the edge of the atmos is? So we obviously know about the far side being seperated by impassable mountains, but the other ends, do the sky cities stop and become a flatland? A desert? An ocean? The atmos has to be a continent right? But there has to be a point where they stop and different ecosystems begin. Are there other continents past the atmos that run on different rules? How would they cross the gap? What creatures or dieties rule in the other lands? Figured i'd ask you
This... this got long. Holy shit it got long. The readmore is there for a reason.
I noticed this ask when I was at work with about an hour left on my shift. You have no idea how tempted I was to make a video response to this question through pure enthusiasm and finally launch into my ambition of making YouTube videos about this cartoon XD
First of all, thank you so much for thinking of me, and I will absolutely answer this question with 100% earnest.
Secondly, I didn't really have an answer for this question until you asked it. Having full-on continents isn't really something I really felt a need for in Storm Hawks and Atmos, especially after I came up with headcanons to explain how Terras work and why they work that way. However this ask got me thinking :3
Let's start at the beginning. Atmos was made by a storm. Specifically the First Storm, believed to be the birth of a god of the same name, and the total destruction of an old world. Chaotic, destructive this newborn god shattered what would become Atmos into thousands of pieces and in its youthful madness it struck out at its elders. Death (aka Decay) lost an eye, Magic lost a heart that was flung into the path of a comet, which was one of the fire avatar's children. They caught fire like sparks to kindling. The howling drew the curiosity of the Flesh (aka Life), and the ire of the Manywing (the winds).
Whatever flat, unblemished world existed before this event is long gone and devoured by Decay, though it's possible a few traces of its inhabitants survived. Though they were changed by the energy of this great cataclysm. Atmos calls the descendants of these survivors the Giants.
Tumblr media
"Storms made us. Storms tore us apart. And now storms will help us rebuild" - Master Cyclonis, Age of Heroes Pt. 2, timestamp ~13:05
Please ignore how YouTube absolutely bungled that auto caption, but this is the line that inspired the headcanon for an Atmos creation 'myth' (it is a very real event but gets heavily debated in-universe), which I've held onto for a good two or so years now.
This wave of destruction created the Wastelands, and Terras came about when pieces of raw crystal energy fell to Atmos and eventually formed giant crystal deposits, around which earth, dirt and stone formed, making way for new life such as plants and animals. So essentially Terras are giant crystal geodes. The type of crystal that makes up their core is likely to affect its climate, which is how I am able to get away with worldbuilding choices such as placing Blizaris on the same longitude as, say, Tropica.
Because of this, I never considered any actual continents on Atmos. The First Storm was an event of worldwide destruction, absolutely nowhere was left unscathed, so no matter how far someone travels, it's Terras all over.
But this ask got me thinking 'ok what if there was? Why would there be any?'
Well the answer is that a continent did survive the First Storm. Maybe more than one, but I want to focus on what you can find there, and that is giants.
Tumblr media
Time to bring in Gundstaff. Fun fact, I made him despicable. But that's not what we're here to discuss.
Who the fuck is this man besides a crystal hoarder who gets robbed for plot??? In the three episodes he's in, for a total amount of screentime that I'm pretty sure doesn't exceed even five minutes, all we learn about him is that he hates people, is a giant, has a huge crystal collection, and his unnamed, blink-and-you-miss-it wife and child are presumably being held captive by Cyclonia. The only reason I'm not saying the wife and child are dead is because if they were, Gundstaff would likely have gone "fuck it, I'm working against you because you have nothing to hold over my head" long before Payback when he whoops ass for Piper.
Tumblr media
RIP to Gundstaff's family, currently residing somewhere in the fridge. Photo seen in Payback.
Gundstaff's very existence, and that of his supposed familiy, brings up several questions. Why do we not see any other giants in Atmos? Why does the cast not seem to treat his existence like a total anomaly? Is he the last giant in existance? I personally don't think so. If that's the case, then where the hell are they all?? How far flung are they that we only see a single member of this race three times across 52 episodes over a space of at least 36 Terras if you count the ones that aren't physically visited in the show?
Tumblr media
This is Gundstaff's home as seen in Five Days about 60 seconds in. It's... pretty small. Bro doesn't have a lot of space to move, and there's no sign of any other inhabitants, least of all any his size.
So where are the giants? Why is Gundstaff living in a place that doesn't feel very suited to his stature?
Because it's not really where he belongs.
The biggest landmasses in Atmos are the homelands of giants. There's space for them to move freely, they don't have to worry about crossing the Wastelands to get anywhere (though I do headcanon giants to have powerful innate magic that allows them to travel great distances without worry, and that the greatest of giants can grow to the size of Terras). I think these continents, aka Giant Country, are relatively flat and follow more 'logical' geology more akin to what we'd find in real life. I'm not set on what kind of climate it is just yet. Crystals are quite scarce here, as the ground isn't suitable for deposits to develop, so giants will venture out into the wider Atmos to gather resources. Some will stay long-term for various reasons such as for research, to make Champions (something of an 'art' among giants gifted with what I call "Artisan magic"), or because they were exiled.
I'm not sure why Gundstaff isn't living in Giant Country just yet. Maybe he was exiled, or he was staying in Atmos for research, or he and his wife were making plans to return to Giant Country with their child, but got torn apart by Cyclonia just before that plan was set into motion. If it weren't for his wife and child, I feel like Gundstaff would've returned to Giant Country long ago.
So to answer your question, I don't really think there is an 'edge' of Atmos. If it weren't for the Barrier Cliffs, if you travelled in one direction for long enough, you'd wind up back where you started without running into an 'edge'. But you might just find Giant Country, and that may as well feel like the edge of Atmos. It's quite different there.
I was not expecting to go this in-depth regarding this question, but this was a blast to figure out so thanks a ton for asking me about this Peregrine :3 I hope this answer satisfies you.

Like any good OC gremlin, I have playlists for all my favs. The one I’ll put before the cut, though, is Kinesis’ theme song, written by Andrew Huang. He legit wrote it for Evil Plan. Mazz's Top 5 Shows (as of 8/23)
So I’ve been debating on letting my inner theater geek out on here for a while, but I also realize that....this is my blog so I can talk about whatever the hell I want to talk about.
If somehow you didn’t know already, I am and always have been a theater kid. I’ve been lucky enough to have seen tons of live theater in my day, whether it’s community, national tours, or in New York. And now that my current touring season is over, and I continue to gush over the amazing shows I’ve seen the past few months, I think it’s time for me to officially update my Top 5 Show list.
5.) Six (US Tour)
Tumblr media
So fun fact, I just saw this for the first time yesterday. I've been a fan of Six since it opened in the West End and waited super patiently for it to tour. It was entirely electric, the crowd was beyond into it, and the vocal talent was so stunning that I instantly bought tickets to see it again. That has never happened to me before. I was incredibly blown away and look forward to seeing it again next weekend lmao
4.) Next To Normal (Broadway, 2010)
Tumblr media
This was my very first Broadway show on my first trip to New York. This was baby's first online fandom. Back in the day, my friends and I ruled the n2n category on FFnet. It was my first experience with fanfiction and fandom and it was fantastic. This show was everything angsty, teenage Mazz needed at the time. Being able to see the original cast and it being my first real Broadway show, it will always hold a special place in my heart!
3.) Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2023 Revival)
Tumblr media
I saw this back in June when I went to New York last! Actually, the whole reason for my trip was just to see this, especially since I missed out on Josh Groban in Great Comet. The most star-studded cast I've ever seen, tons of heavy-hitters. Sweeney Todd was a favorite of teenage Mazz and his theater friends. We'd spend our weekends in my friend's basement performing "A Little Priest" to the best of our ability. Even though I know this show inside and out, I was still on the edge of my seat by the end. Annaleigh Ashford was the stand-out for me. She was robbed of that Tony.
2.) Beetlejuice (National Tour)
Tumblr media
I saw this back in January with one of my best friends. I've loved this show since it debuted ages ago, and was probably the best show I saw this touring season! The absolute funniest show I've ever seen. Like, we were laughing so loud and hard I'm pretty sure we were annoying the people around us lmao. But nonetheless, it was an excellent production and I left dying to see it again (no...pun intended).
1.) Some Like It Hot (Broadway 2023)
Tumblr media
I will never ever ever stop talking about this show. Hands down, best show I have ever seen. The amount of joy i felt for hours after seeing this was incredible. I was so lucky to see this during pride month, so I have a pride version of the playbill, which is so so special to me. It was so refreshing to see a classic, jazz musical again and the choreography? Insane. Like jaw dropping insane. The final chase sequence blew my mind.
But what struck me the most was seeing a queer actor onstage playing a canonically trans character. A character who was done so well and felt so organic. I saw this at the point in my transition where I really started presenting and dressing masculinely. I was the little awkward trans guy from Ohio, alone in the big city, sat at the front of the mezzanine hearing the crowd cheer for Daphne. After months of feeling dread about the state of this country and the fear of being outwardly trans, this was just...the perfect thing at the perfect time. The amount of gender euphoria I felt was incredible, it was so moving to me. It will always hold a special place in my heart and that is why it's my number one.
So that is my current list! Will it change? Probably at some point lmao. My next season starts in October, and I look forward to seeing what awaits me next.
