My ideal Jane Austen parents would be Henry Tilney and Elizabeth Bennet. What about you?
My top parent picks were Henry Tilney and Anne Elliot, I think they would work very well together as they are different enough to have seperate strengths and to make up for each other's weaknesses. Most of the original pairs are pretty good from that point of view. Elizabeth and Darcy, Anne and Wentworth, they compliment each other really well, as do most of the couples.
I personally find Henry Tilney and Elizabeth Bennet too similar to be a good parenting team (I also think the combined sass of their children would cause an apocalypse), they would end up with the same strengths and the same weaknesses. This might happen with Jane & Charles Bingley, who are very similar as Mr. Bennet points out.
My ideal Austen parents wouldn't be heroes or heroines though, I want Mrs. Jennings or the Crofts ❤️

killer!will au where every dog in his pack represents a person he has killed and slowly but surely it expands every year and people just see him as this like crazy dog hoarder but he takes such good care of the animals and he definitely has the space/property to ensure they get proper exercise and he names them and calls after them all so lovingly that no one reports him or thinks anything more of it other than he constantly smells like dog hair until the day he is put into hannibal lecter's vicinity and the scent of blood, fresh organs, and viscera are so clearly stained into will's being that hannibal can't help but take particular notice
when asked about that particular scent about him, will tonelessly says he feeds his dogs a completely raw and fresh diet, sourced locally of course. it adds a certain shine to their coats, don't you think, dr.lecter?
hannibal can only smile and offer his own butcher's selection of meats should will ever need more to feed his ever-growing pack

kiba is a girldad, there, I said it, He looks so cute having a tea party with his lil princesses, tiara on his head, in a tutu thats almost tearing at the seams due to his massive size, having the time of his life drinking fake tea and biscuits🥰
AGREED, kiba is most definitely a girl dad!! he looks like a brute, acts like a bastard, but i just know he actually gets so fucking soft when it comes to anything concerning his family.
speaking of him being soft, imagine he immediately turns all red when you catch him like that jdjdjsjsjsxjdj
he thinks you're still downstairs taking a nap, so the sound of your giggle coming from across the room makes him stiffen in an instant. and sure enough when he turns to make eye contact, there you are; standing by the door. watching. shit, for how long?
did you hear him pretending to talk to the stuffed animals surrounding the little table your daughter has made him sit at? see him push his pinky out while 'drinking' the tea, even though his hands are way too big to even hold the cup properly?
and don't even get him started on his appearance.
colourful little clips are stuck in his hair, most of them purple and pink. the tiara that sits crooked atop his head is clinging on for dear life to his wild curls. there's even a sheer layer of glitter smudged onto both of his cheeks; sticking to the stubble he hasn't had the time to shave yet, tan skin sparkling when he angles his head towards the light. he must have fallen victim to one of your daughter's failed make up experiments.
and he just looks so cute, no matter how messy. so endearing; he's the best dad ever for doing this. for being involved, like his own father had never been. you know that he hates embarrassing himself - has always hated it - but the fact that he's willing to get past that just to make your little girl happy tells you everything you need to know about him. especially because laughter is bubbling out of her so much, that her sharp, mini-kiba copy grin must surely be making her little round face hurt by now from how wide it's become. and it's all because of him.
and as for you, well, you're just happy you've managed to snap a picture when he wasn't looking.

in retrospect i am not sure what "advanced" or "adult" book i read when i was a youngish teen that specifically led me into reading books oriented towards an older audience. i know it's not exactly a One-Book phenomenon but that post did get me thinking about what kind of books i or others feel like was THEE pivotal book. i almost want to say it was a terry pratchett, possibly even good omens for me personally but idk !
