The air reeks of disinfectant. The ceiling lights flicker. The shine off of the white linoleum floors is almost blinding.

Beep. Beep. Beep. The rhythmic sounds of the monitors beside him compete with the squeaking of your sneakers as you fidget your leg. Indistinct chatter echos from the hallways.

"You gunna be alright there, hun?" the sweet, Southern nurse--Donna--gently checks in.

You straighten your posture, not realizing you had your elbow on your knee, using your fist as a resting place for your chin. "Do I look as nervous as I feel?" you inquire, but you already know that answer.

Donna gives you a look. Kind, soft eyes. A downturned, closed-mouthed, smile. "He's going to be fine, dear," she assures you, placing a hand on your shoulder and giving you a comforting squeeze. "The only reason he's in here for the night is so we can monitor his vitals. Safety precautions and all," Donna gives a dismissive flick of her hand as she heads toward the doorway.

"Thank you," you quickly, but sincerely, say, feeling the need to catch her before she makes her exit. "For everything."

Donna leans on the doorframe, that look appearing once more. Is it pity? Sympathy? A little bit of both? You don't really know, but you don't really care either. "Just doin' my job, hun," she replies. "Just like he was," she points her chin towards the bed. Towards him.

When Donna leaves, you gain the courage to really look at him. Your love. Your Javy.

He's asleep. He has been the whole time you've been by his bedside. He looks at peace, like he's soundly sleeping in his bedroom on a typical night. Like nothing happened. There are no signs of cuts or bruises. He looks...normal. Your usual, handsome, partner.

Inching your chair closer, you reach your hand out and intertwine your fingers with his. He feels warm. His touch warms you.

You were nervous to say the least. It was your first day of college, after all. You were sat in a lecture hall that could easily fit 300 students in its fixed seating. As students--your classmates, you presume--trickled in, you took the time to review the syllabus that your professor had posted only the night before. You began to jiggle your leg, something you did when you needed to release excess energy. "Anyone seating here?" Your fidgeting stopped instantly, your attention drawn to the tall, broad, man stood before you. He nodded his head toward the seat beside you when you didn't respond. You were too busy staring at him. "Oh, uh...yeah, of course," you finally replied, frantically removing your backpack, which occupied the seat. The man settled in, slouching in his chair and stretching his legs out. "Comfortable?" you joked and instantly regretted it. You probably shouldn't have said it out loud...some people might take it the wrong way. But he didn't. Instead, it earned a chuckle out of him. And it was then that you were introduced to his smile. God, what a nice smile it was. "Oh yeah," he sighed contently. "Ready for intro to kinesiology," he announced with nonchalance. "And you?" You don't know what it was about him, but you felt like you could be honest. "Hell no," you responded, bluntly. This elicited a second chuckle out of him, making you proud. "You'll be okay," he reassured you with a wink. On second thought, you weren't sure if it was reassuring because the butterflies in your stomach told you otherwise.

"Your leg is shaking" Javy croaks, drawing you from your thoughts. His eyes are still closed but his face is decorated with a fond smile.

"What were you thinking before I interrupted you?" he wonders, eyes still closed. When you don't respond immediately, he gives the hand he is holding a firm squeeze.

"About how we met"

"Ahhh," he laughs, taking the time to reminisce himself. "When your boy swept you off your feet at intro to kin, huh".

"Ha ha, very funny," your voice riddled with displeasure.

It is so like Javy to keep things light-hearted. It's something you love about him because his calm, confident, comedic demeanour compliments yours. But in times like this...serious times, that light-heartedness clashes with your grounded worry.

"Enough about me, let's talk about you"

"I'm okay, baby" he smiles, opening his eyes and looking deep into yours. "Really."

"What happened?"

"Are you sure you want to know?" Javy's eyebrow lifts inquisitively. He knows the answer, but he asks anyway. You pause for a moment to think, before letting out a sigh and shaking your head. No.

It's no secret to both of you that you are not the biggest fan of Javy's line of work. You are not a fan of him putting himself in danger and fighting someone else's battles. And although you weren't a fan, you will also support him. Javy "Coyote" Machado. The love of your life.

"Training accident," he informs you, sparing the details. "It was a close one."

Your heart sinks. A training accident? A simulation? A practice? And he was still in harms way? It only heightens your fears of Javy getting hurt during training and while deployed. Or worse... You can't bare the thought.

Javy sits up, reaching forward to gently rub the tears from your cheeks. When did you start crying?

"I know, baby. I know" he coos, trying his best to comfort you. He knows how much you worry about him. He knows how much you love him. He knows how you both dream of your futures together. And he knows that being in the military may prevent those dreams from becoming reality.

Javy straightens his posture before shuffling in his bed. Patting the now empty space beside him, he gives you a warm smile. "Come on, baby. I want to be close to you."

You blink away any remaining tears, standing from your seat and climbing into the twin-sized hospital bed with your wide-shouldered, over-six-foot-tall partner.

His strong arms engulf you, rocking your body from side to side.

"Comfortable?" the unexpected inside joke makes you burst into laughter. Javy is always so good at making you feel safe.

"I'm so glad you're here," he admits, placing a tender kiss on your temple. "I love you and feel loved by you".

“Wrong apartment,” you called, hoping they’d realize their mistake soon.  “Cross, come on, open up.” You froze, recognizing that voice.

Okay what I love here is that Javy isn't messing around. he is WORRIED about his girl and writing this i could feel his anxiety. golden retriever, easy going, smile-like-sunshine Javy is almost snapped here bc he is worried and like doesn't that just make your heart flutter?? when a calm guy gets worried, it makes you feel so cared for, and protected, and like you matter so much to them, and i love it. 

...You shoved your arms into the shirt as you struggled into some pajama shorts on your way to the door. “What are you doing here?” you asked before the door was opened, and even then, only wide enough for your head to poke through. Javy was leaning against the door frame, arms braced on either side of it, and you noticed his shoulders relaxed a bit when he saw you.

I'm such a slut for a door lean. But here, Javy's bracing himself is just another tell of his anxiety; he's literally bracing himself to stay calm. I love how clearly Javy is telegraphing that he's worried about her. And he had to see her to believe it! He's heard her call out to him/he knows she's in there, but I love that we get to see that he neeeds to reassure himself with the sight of her. I think that's really important for Cross, too, since she's all in her head about what's real and what isn't.

“You’re okay?” he asked, his eyes running over you, seemingly scanning for some nonexistent injury. “What?” you blinked. “Yeah, I’m fine, what…” All at once, you remembered the promise you’d made to his mother, and your phone charging in the other room, and how long it’d been since you’d gotten into the car at Balboa. You looked up at Javy, clocking the relief and stress warring in his expression. 

he's!!! so!! worried!!! two-word sentences aren't normally his speed, but he's on one-track right now, and just needs that reassurance. I love how intent he is, how he needs contextual, visual, and spoken confirmation that she's okay.

“I’m sorry,” you said, your nose wrinkling. “I just got carried away with stuff and—” “Is that my shirt?” Javy interrupted you, and you looked down.  It was his shirt.  You’d grabbed it out of the tumbled load in the dryer, which you now remembered was one of the last dogfight football loads.

I wrote this scene, and it still makes me squeal lol. I love that what final jolts Javy out of his protective frame of mind is his possessive side?? like he's so out of his normal character with worry, then his brain resets when he sees his girl in his clothes lol it's darling.

I also love this insight into Cross' character, that she'd just casually do laundry for the rest of the team? i like this act of service moment she has, and we can really see how hard she's trying to get along with the rest of the team.

“It was the first one I grabbed,” you said, quickly.  Javy didn’t say anything, but his hands did drop from the door so he could cross them across his chest. And he was smirking, damn it, something that should be annoying or at least not attractive, but it was, and it made you want to stomp your foot. 

smug!!! javy!!! fuck me gently with a chainsaw, ya know?? if that man ever smirked at me, I'd evaporate on the spot. stupid greg tarzan davis, being seventy different kinds of perfect. i love that now that he's moved from protective, to possessive, to smug, we see the side of him we're familiar with re-emerging. confident, handsome, pleased Javy. god i love him.

Plotwise Harry Styles in his second film of the festival season after last week’s Venice debut of Don’t Worry Darling, plays British policeman Tom who is befriended by lively museum curator Patrick (David Dawson), as well as a shyer school teacher Marion (Emma Corrin, also in a second fest movie this week after the debut of  Lady Chatterley’s Lover) who because of the times must contain her own growing sexual attraction to Tom. Eventually though, in the most proper of ways, Tom and Marion get married, not a loveless union but not a passionate one and one where Marion can’t seem to hold back her jealousy of the “friendship” between Tom and Patrick. With homosexuality illegal at the time, Patrick also has to watch himself but one day alone with Tom makes a move that leads to a very physical and steamy clandestine affair that both keep secret from Marion. It is a continuing game of deception even as Marion gets more increasingly frustrated, perhaps suspecting something but trying to win the kind of lover in Tom that just isn’t there. It certainly is for Patrick, and Dawson and Styles go for it with no holding back in a bedroom scene that leaves little to the imagination.

Between Don’t Worry Darling and My Policeman Styles is quickly proving himself to be the real deal as an actor, and he is very convincing here as a man lost in deception with his wife. Corrin made up in passion in Lady Chatterley’s Lover what is lacking in this subdued character who finally takes a stand but unfortunately so much time is lost between. Corrin certainly is showing lots of range these days.  Dawson is excellent in the sad position of simply being who he is in a time where being gay  is a crime. My how times have changed, but have they? With some openly  wanting to ban gay marriage again, My Policeman seems oddly timely in taking us back to darker days we thought were long gone.  Everett, McKee, and Roache are all fine as far as the contemporary scenes go but I actually wish they had aged up the younger trio of actors which might have made this all a tad bit more convincing.

It is a handsome looking production, and always kept my interest, but for me it doesn’t quite reach its full potential. Producers are Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schecter, Cora Palfrey, and Philip Herd are producers. Ben Davis provides some lovely cinematography, and the score by Steven Price is excellent. It will begin streaming on Amazon Prime beginning November 4, with a theatrical run starting October 21.

Welp, time to do another media log where I forgot to record every media I consumed in the past 2 months

Now that that’s out of the way, let’s talk about some fucking media!

Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3 is one of 2 movies that I have cried 3 times watching across the whole thing (the other being JoJo Rabbit). Incredible VFX, amazing acting, Rocket becoming one of my new fave Marvel characters (I feel like he is similar to Nikolai from cod zombies where they were first joke characters but then became the best well written characters in their respective areas). My one complaint about this movie is just the fact that Adam Warlock didn’t have as much impact as I would’ve liked to see. Still, great movie! 9/10

Black Mirror: Bandersnatch is a movie that is very meta in its sense of interactive film thriller that had me hooked for 2 hours (when the film said it was like 1.5 hours, fecking liars). 8/10

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent had sort of a slow start I felt, but once it got rolling oh my god it got rolling and I was in the crossfire of the massive boulder of comedy! Felt like it was meta in the way they constantly referenced Nick Cage movies while also making it work and be hilarious, loved Pedro Pascal as Javi so much! 9/10

The difference between American and British game shows is wild and it can be shown clearly here with Taskmaster. Simple premise of Greg Davies getting British comedians to complete tasks for his entertainment. Loved the banter between Greg, Alex, and the contestants! Really good just to watch before bed or just if needing some ear/eye candy. 8/10

I don’t think there’s ever been a TV show more meant for me and the comedy style. Just the combination of the absurdism humor in the world with Bob’s dry, monotone humor meshes really well to create a show that I kept laughing my ass off watching. 10/10!

It’s weird that I’ve played so many Roguelikes (BPM: Bullets Per Minute, Hades, Enter the Gungeon, Crypt of the Necrodancer) and I hadn’t played the Binding of Isaac. This is the quintessential roguelike, music also goes incredibly hard! 9/10

It sucks ending the log on a low note, but it’s also how I felt listening to the album. It might be that Ripper, Pretty Handsome Awkward, and the Bird & the Worm were such good songs that heightened my expectations, but I just didn’t find myself enjoying this album that much. 6/10

Gregory is very, very nervous when he stands outside Lucy’s door the Friday after he begged her to love him. He’d stood at her desk this morning with a bunch of flowers clasped in her hand and said I wondered if maybe you’d like to go out tonight... I mean... if you don’t have any other plans? Lucy had looked up at him a little surprised, and then with a soft smile on her face said mmmm I don’t think I can, I’m going to spend time with my boyfriend tonight kissing him on the cheek as she took the flowers from him and his heart had threatened to leap out of his chest at her use of the word. But now, here he was, waiting for her to open the door, carrying his heart in his hands. All his anxiety washes away when she opens the door, grinning broadly and says I know we were going to go to dinner, but do you just want to go to the cinema instead, I don’t really feel like a fancy dinner tonight. They eat popcorn for dinner and lay awake trading secrets and Gregory thinks for certain this is where he wants to spent the rest of his life. With his arms wrapped around Lucy Abernathy.

They say I Love You for the second time in a much less dramatic way. Lucy had been biting back the words for a month now, every time he went out for a meeting with Anthony and just took her coffee cup with him without being asked, returning it filled when he returned, when he looked at her, with his glasses crooked and his boyish grin on his face, when he smiled to himself reading a Wonder Woman comic, when he moved above her whispering her name like a prayer. And it was getting harder and harder to bite it back. Luckily she didn’t have too for much longer. They were sitting on the sofa in his living room, Lucy sitting sideways, her legs stretched out over his, his hand drumming the beat of the star wars title music on her legs as Episode I plays, Lucy idly reading Vanity Fair half tuned into the film, and she finds herself saying, in time with the film I will not condone a course of action that will lead us to war without looking up from her magazine. She feels Greg stiffen next to her. His voice tentative Did you... just quote Queen Amidala? Lucy looks up a little confusedly and says Well... I have seen it before you know Greg. Gregory stares at her, his mouth hanging open just a little frozen and then he seems to shake himself, leans in close and growls in her ear. I Love You and that was the sexiest thing I’ve ever heard Lucy can’t help the laughter bubbling from her chest, before she says I love you too. Gregory pauses the movie to show her just how much he loves her. 

Gregory is by nature not a very confrontational person But he can’t seem to help himself when he runs into Lucy’s ex boyfriend. Mitchell Davis works in finance, and he’s exactly the kind of man that Lucy’s uncle would prefer her be with. Gregory feels a little prickle of irritation every time Her uncle mentions that he, Gerald, is just the wastrel youngest son of the Bridgertons and while he knows that Robert Abernathy has a grudging respect for his brother Anthony, that in no way makes Gregory good enough for his niece Whose grandfather was an earl you know! So when Lucy’s brother introduces Gregory as Lucy’s friend to Mitchell at the Christmas party for Abernathy Media, Gregory watches as his handsome face lights up in a smug smirk, how we pulls Lucy in for a hug that lasts a few seconds too long, even though Lucy tries to pull away. Greg feels his temper flaring. Feels it settle into his chest when the Man’s hand runs a little too low on Lucy’s back, Lucy trying to pull away, tugging his insistent hand off her. Gregory’s patience snaps when he leans in close to her ear and whispers something that he can’t hear but brings a clearly disgusted look to Lucy’s face. Mate, I’m going to have to ask you to keep your hands to yourself she’s obviously uncomfortable. He says, squaring his shoulders, putting on the voice he’s heard Anthony use countless times. Mitchell looked up a little surprised, sneering. And just who are you to make that judgement specs? Gregory takes a heavy step towards the man, placing himself between Lucy and him, he feels Lucy’s hand on his back, comforting the anxiety in his stomach. I’m her boyfriend, Dick. And he hears Lucy let out an odd breath and a murmur of yeah you are.

i’m definitely not sick of it, i just feel bad bc there’s not much of it i can actually respond to so most of it goes unanswered, esp when people (not you specifically, just in general) send links in the ask esp to other people’s blogs. i dooo know he’s very lovely and very handsome and by all accounts i can see a very safe and unproblematic fave, and everyone here adores him. unfortunately i don’t think that’s something i can comment on every single day even though those are the wishes of some of my beloved anons! re: jimmy carr, i have received tons of messages about people meeting comedians on the street or after shows, and jimmy is always touted as being the funniest and sweetest, though people sent in great asks (too many to respond to) about miles, joe wilkinson, sarah millican, david mitchell, russell howard, roisin conaty, richard herring, lou sanders, ed gamble, greg davies, alex horne and more! i’m so happy to hear so many of our faves are good to their fans!

ofc when james got up and went behind his chair simply bc someone talked about something related to boobies that was hiiiiiilarious but i actually don’t recall him having a loooot of moments like that...i think we’re just more likely to notice when he does anything because we like him so much heh. i liked when he got frustrated by completely logicless points system, but i honestly love any amount of competition!! that’s probably why i liked s2 so much when others thought it was just ok, because joe and jon and at times katherine and doc were suuuuuuuuper competitive (remember when they had to vote whether to give joe points for touching the red green and jon and doc literally said no?? that was iconic). but i will def do a rewatch for another out of context taskmaster post, so i’ll keep an eye out :)

Recently, DC, which had been lagged behind in its competition against Marvel, completely turned the game ahead by a first-rate movie, Aquaman. After being released in China, it immediately launched a wave of enthusiasm. The box office broke through 650 million in just 3 days. The Douban score is 8.2, and scores on other platforms are up to 9 or above.

Double gains in public praise and the box office, this movie was seen as "the best superhero movie of 2018". This time, DC can finally enjoy its victory for a moment.

The movie highly restores the comic story , and truly presented the magical underwater world. Of course, the man who stars as the "king of the ocean" in the movie, Jason Momoa, is one of the biggest selling points that drives people to cinema.

A Walking Hormone, Best Candidate for Aquaman

Staring as as Aquaman, Jason Momoa has a muscular physique of 6'4" height and 210 pounds. I believe many girls rush to the theater only for the masculine look of Jason, regardless of the jealous boyfriend sitting beside them.

Many people knew Jason from the character of the Dothraki king, Khal Drogo, of Game of Thrones. Coming from the mainland of Westeros, Jason seemed to be just right for the role of Aquaman because of his deep connection with the ocean. Like Aquaman, Jason is also a mixed-race.His father is of Native Hawaiian descent, while his mother is of German, Irish, and Native American ancestry.

He has grown up at the beach and had never been away from the ocean. Before entering show business, Jason would always go to a surf shop for a part-time job during his vacation. In order to give a better performance in Aquama, Jason Momoa did tons of fitness training, endeavoring to engrave his body lines, especially the muscle lines of the chest and back.

Nevertheless, a muscular physique was not enough to make him a star. Like the story in the movie, Jason had also experienced low points in life and eventually paved the hard road. In 2011, Jason appeared as the Dothraki king, Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones . However, Hollywood never lacks of tough guy, so the audience is a bit tired. Jason’s character died in the first season of Game of Thrones.

Fortunately, fate takes care of those who are well-prepared. The Dothraki king deeply impressed DC director Zach Schneider. He invited Jason to the audition of Batman vs. Superman . The movie tells a story that after learning he is the heir to the underwater kingdom of Atlantis, the adult Arthur returns to the ocean to destroy his brother's dirty plot and becomes the king of Atlantis.

You don’t want to miss this splendid movie of course, and certainly not the Easter Eggs too. It is said there are 22 Easter Eggs in the movie. Have you found all of them?

The golf courses presented, Kapalua Plantation Course and Kapalua Bay Course, are known as Hawaii's must-haves. They are located at Kapalua Bay.

The Superb Layout of the Plantation

Consistently ranked as the #1 golf course in Hawaii, The Plantation Course was designed by Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore. The course, of lengthy 7,411 yard par 73, was designed on a grand scale in keeping with its location on the slopes of the West Maui Mountains. With dramatic elevation changes, this course offers plenty of downhill tee shot challenges for the pros.  With the aid of the aggressive slope of the 18th fairway - you will enjoy hitting one of the longest drives of your life.

It all starts from the first hole, with a par 4 and downhill 520 yards. Standing here, you can absolutely feel the magnificent scenery and the charm of the slopes.

The 5th hole, which is heavily tilted, is only about 500 yards. However, due to the slope of the fairway, the wind and influence of the deep valley makes it even more challenging.

PGA Tournament Venue

The first tournament of the PGA Tour, the Tournament of Champions, has been held here since 1999. Many golf champions happened here. Dustin Johnson, Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, Tiger Woods, and Sergio Garcia all achieved excellent results here. Every year,  previous winners of The Grand Slams, the World Golf Championship and the PGA Tour of would gather around in the tournaments. It is worth watching!

Professors in Love (and a baby Scorpius) - Chapter 1

It’s here guys! This was based off of the Professor!Drarry headcanon post I did a couple days ago, I’m so excited to write this!!! :^D

Harry beamed as he watched Ginny walked down the aisle. She looked beautiful in the tailored navy blue robes that complimented her flaming hair surprisingly well. He looked to his left to see Luna staring at her soon-to-be wife with loving eyes. Harry took Ginny’s bouquet from her as she took her place on the altar, opposite from Luna.  Their vows were beautiful, and had everyone in tears by the time they finished.

“I now pronounce you wife and wife,” said Luna’s great uncle, who they had gotten to be their minister. The two leaned in and kissed as their guests erupted into cheers and applause. Harry grinned and clapped along with everyone else, the love he felt for both of his friends was so strong, and he was extremely happy for them.

After the war, Harry and Ginny both realized that they loved each other like brother and sister, and parted mutually as friends. In fact, their past relationship was often brought about as a joke, and Ron liked to tease that Harry turned Ginny gay. But everyone knew that Ginny and Luna fit better together than Harry and Ginny ever could, and Harry was quite relieved at that. He realized that he had used Ginny as a way to be legally apart of the Weasley family. When he and Ginny broke up, he apologized extensively for this, and Ginny with her fierce temper was mad at him for using her, but understood his reason.

Another realization for Harry, was that he was bisexual. When he told Ron and Hermione, they both gave him a look that said, do you think we’re stupid? Even Ron had concluded some things from the way Harry would look longingly at both boys and girls during their Hogwarts years.

“So, you’re- you’re okay with it? I’m not a- a freak or anything?” Years of hearing the Dursleys ramble on about how disgusting the gay couple who lived down the street was flashed through his mind. Disgusting faggots, polluting our children, that’s what they’re doing. Vernon had liked to say when the Sander-Davies could be seen walking with their adopted son.

“Of course not, Harry! Blimey, calling you a freak would have me going against Ginny, wouldn’t it?” Ron had told him reassuringly.

“Harry, we’ll love you no matter who you choose to love, you deserve that happiness,” Harry beamed at their words and had enveloped them both into hugs. He felt so loved in that moment, and for the first time after the war, he felt a small shrivel of peace. Two months after that day he was walking into Luna and Ginny’s wedding reception with Justin Finch-Fletchley on his arm.

The reporters had gone into a frenzy as he walked into building, shouting inquiries about his sexuality, and if he was in a relationship with Justin. He seemed a bit nervous, and Harry gave his arm a reassuring squeeze as they stepped into the hall the Weasley’s had rented for the wedding. Harry smiled at Justin before walking over to take his place at the head table beside Neville, who was Luna’s best man. They both gave their speeches that had half of the guests in fits of laughter, and the other crying from the emotional parts.

“To the happy couple!” Harry shouted, and the room repeated his words with enthusiasm. The rest of the wedding went very well. Harry danced with Justin a couple of times, and found him to be a fun, even if shy, person to be around.  They didn’t kiss, but promised to meet up for a pint sometime before Justin left for Auror training.

As Harry laughed with his arms slung around Seamus and Ron’s shoulders, singing to a song they didn’t know, he felt like the pressure and guilt from the war was lifted from his shoulders, not entirely, but enough.

Harry said his goodbyes, wished Luna and Ginny a happy honeymoon, and left with Hermione and Ron to go back to the flat they shared in Hogsmeade. Ron and Hermione weren’t together either, understanding that they were both better as friends.

Their flat wasn’t big, but managed to fit the trio just fine. Harry still had Grimmauld place, but it held too many memories that he wasn’t ready to deal with yet. There was a sitting room with an overstuffed couch and armchairs, similar to the ones found in the Gryffindor common room. Bookshelves lined the walls, holding the books Hermione couldn’t fit in her room, along with several photographs and potted plants.

The kitchen was full of muggle appliances that Ron refused to touch after a peculiar incident involving the toaster. There was a wooden breakfast table that had a view of the village, and even a distant glimpse of Hogwarts.

The three of them stumbled into the flat laughing about nothing at all, sporting grins and equal levels of amusement. They murmured goodnights and went to their separate rooms. Harry got into his bed and fell asleep right away, the night was fun, yet a tiring one. As he dozed off, the last images that flitted through his head were the happy smiles of his friends and the way everyone seemed to forget about the war for one beautiful night.

Two years later, and not too far away, Draco Malfoy was on the receiving end of news that he had anticipated. He knew what was wrong the minute Astoria sat down with him.

“You’re pregnant,”

“I’m pregnant,” they both spoke at the same time, Draco smirked.

“Damn, how do you always do that? You knew when I told you about my Healer internship and now this!” She yelled but there was no mirth to her words.  

“How old should he be when we divorce?”

“I’d say at least two years, and how do you know it’s not a girl?” “At the moment I cannot come up with any Malfoy men who have produced a girl as their first-born, and you know I have the family tree memorized by heart,” Astoria sighed and shook her head fondly.

“Alright, we should tell our families now, yes?”

“Yes, I’m certain mother would kill me if she found out I did not inform her immediately,”

Draco stood and they both visited each family together, informing of them of the pregnancy, but only Daphne was to know of the coming divorce. Astoria trusted her more than she was willing to admit.

They entered their townhouse and sat down together in the sitting room.

“How’s Millie doing?”

“Oh she’s lovely, I’m seeing her tomorrow night,” Draco raised a brow, this would be the fifth time she would be meeting up with Millie this week. “Speaking of dates, why haven’t I seen you with any hot young men?”

Draco raised his left arm, showing the faded mark, “I think you may be forgetting a certain detail,”

“Yes, but that doesn’t mean you can’t use a glamour and pull every once in a while,” Draco rolled his eyes. He knew he could do that, but abhorred the idea of his glamour fading and his partner recoiling in disgust at the sight of him. “And besides, there are plenty of men who would be willing to overlook it, you are very handsome you know. If I wasn’t a lesbian I would probably enjoy our sex life,”

Draco laughed and kissed her cheek as he stood, “I’m going to visit Pansy, I’ll see you later, Stori,”

“Think about going to one of those gay bars!” she shouted as he stepped through the floo.

Draco supposed that he and Astoria would be a good match if they both weren’t extremely gay. They had an agreement that as long as they produced an heir, they could go out with anyone they wanted while still being married to the other. Draco loved Astoria, but not in the way their mothers had hoped.

She was his best friend, and even though their marriage was arranged, he wouldn’t pick anyone else to be his wife.

He greeted Pansy at the little cafe she had grown fond of, a little shop on the edge of Hogsmeade. Pansy’s taste was often questionable, but Draco found the little tea shop, with it’s fairy lights and light yellow walls, wasn’t all too bad. The tea was good as well, Draco thought as he sipped his peppermint blend. He crossed his ankles and relaxed as he listened to Pansy go on about how awful the man her parents had introduced her to the night before was.

“Far too full of himself, and this is coming from me! It seemed as though he wanted me to applaud him for bringing the bloody wine! Fucking narcissist,” Draco smiled at her rantings, he didn’t realize how much he had missed hanging out with her. Nothing was ever normal after the war, but they were healing, very slowly.  

“Takes one to know one,” Draco said, quirking up the end of his mouth.

“Oh fuck off,”

It was August, a little over two years after the war and Draco had surprisingly kept in touch with most of his Slytherin peers. He and Pansy had tea almost every Sunday afternoon, on Friday nights he would have a pint with Blaise, Millie, and occasionally Theo. And at least three times a month, he, Astoria, Daphne, Pansy, Blaise, Theo, Millie, and Greg would meet up to eat dinner as a group and get pissed.

He had expected them to have split up after the war, it was the most realistic outcome. But they were Slyterthins, and would stick together for as long as possible.

“Stori’s expecting,” Draco said casually in between sips of his tea. Pansy shrieked, attracting the attention of the people around them. She ignored them and clapped her hands.

“God, it’s like fifth year all over again,” Pansy rolled her eyes but was smiling joviantly.

“Oh! I’m going to be an Aunt Pansy!”

“And a terrible one you will be,” Draco said, smirking. Pansy smacked his arm playfully.

“It’ll be a spring birth! Oh, imagine you getting the alert in the middle of a lesson!” Pansy laughed and Draco huffed. He had been the Arithmancy professor at Hogwarts for a year now, and was mortified at the thought of his students hearing about the birth of his son in the middle of class. He would much rather have a proper, public announcement.

A half-hour later he was bidding Pansy goodbye. There was a little potions shop he needed to go to for Astoria’s maternity potions. He walked out of the door of the little teashop and right into the person he had been hoping to avoid.

Heart Failure, A Reactionary Post

Going with season 5a's theme (connections) this episode is concerned with... The Physical Heart The Moral Heart The Romantic Heart

The Physical Heart

Andy's Heart Attack Since we haven't been given an actual name (on screen) as yet of what happened to Andy. I am going to call it a heart attack since that's what was alluded to and spoken about in Tony and Greg LaVoi's FB chat. It's pretty frustrating that they ended season 5a on such a shocking note and it's become barely a footnote in the returning episode. It's months later and everything is kind of old hat about the attack.

I personally know nothing about blood pressure. But it seemed like he was taking it several times and wasn’t happy with the results. Is this something that he could fake to get back on full duty? Could he perhaps do that? And that maybe cause some friction between him and Sharon?

The Moral Heart

Buzz It seems that Buzz has gotten a letter from his father's killers son Gabe. It seems that Buzz's pursuit of his father's killer has produced some unexpected results. And there's some parallels between his own life and that of the killer's son. Buzz has unknowingly put him on a very very similar path that his own life has taken. 

I am curious if we will get to see Bill Jones' family again. At this point there's nothing that Buzz can do. That I can think of. As far as I know Buzz pushed to have them put Bill Jones in a prison close to his family so it would be easy for them to visit him. I wonder if Buzz and this boy will connect eventually on some level.

Rusty Rusty was fretting over a text that Gus sent. And was trying to be more present in his relationship with him. It was really good to hear him say that he was watching himself for bad behaviors that have caused problems between the two of them in the past. It felt good that we have had some character growth with him. Hopefully this will continue with the rest of the season of him being more mindful of himself and others. 

Rusty's concern over Buzz. In 5a, we got a Rusty that pushed Buzz and stepped over his feelings in the pursuit of his story. Now we've got Rusty here noting Buzz's somewhat depressed demeanor and reaches out to him. I love it. We need more of this Rusty than the selfish one. Please continue with this Rusty. 

I love Rusty here telling Buzz that it's not his fault over him taking Gabe's father away. Buzz certainly cares a ton of guilt over it. And while yes he did blindly pursuit it but at the same time. Bill Jones killed two people and he should have to answer for that. And as Provenza said in White Lies. Justice doesn't care who gets hurt.

I also love Rusty being protective and noting the way that Day is standing next to Sharon simmering with Anger. Buzz has to hold Rusty back from flying into the room. Where that’s the last place that Rusty should be with some unchecked emotions. Andy is also someone that should have been held back but Sharon seems to have done just fine on that front. 

Deputy Chief Whiny Davis or as I like to call her Deputy Blowhard So this looks familer and at the end of it all we just may end up liking her the way we did Sharon. As of right now, we are very far from that. So for the two small scenes that we get from her we can't really get a good handle on her character. She's got a bug up her ass, that's for sure. I'm not sure if it's just the promotion and that Sharon's her rival for it. Or if there are other reasons as well. 

I've got to say I love the idea of this storyline but some of it feels kind of juvenile to me. I think we got some great stuff between Sharon and Brenda. And their rivalry/odd friendship worked really well. I suppose I'll just have to keep watching to see where this goes. "Headphones, Buzz. Headphones. I mean how do you expect us to hear them?" Typical Provenza wanting so badly to snoop.

"Why are you publicly challenging my authority"? I feel like Davis provoked Sharon into an argument in the middle of the squad room. In part because she wanted her squad to see them argue/repermand their Captain. She's got her right outside of the media room where everyone can see and hear them. 

If she didn't want any of that she would have taken Sharon to her office or the conference room where no one would see them. This was a deliberate move on her part. She wanted them to see her take Sharon down a step and to be seen doing it. 

I love Sharon's response to her. First she trys to defend herself in saying that she didn't challenger her but quickly switches gears. She falls to what she does best. Procedure. I'm following the rules. And if we fall the rules there's no real reason that you have to question me/us.  

One thing that I will give Davis. Is that yes, I do agree about the training. Sharon should have the team redo their training. Since Provenza did cheat in it. 

"Go ahead. Your Boyfriend's calling you."  - that is some glorious head cocking there!

Just another way for Davis to try to rattle Sharon. I wonder what else she's going to try to throw at her. When I saw a gifset of this scene on tumblr before the broadcast of the episode. I deliberately scrolled past it so when I saw it last night for the first time. It did get a gasp out of me. I really didn't expect her to dig Davis claws in that kind of hole. Also Sharon is Sharon and she's not going to show Davis' that she rattled or more likely knowing Sharon that she's pissed off to her face. And of course she doesn't. Not until she turns around do we get that glorious look on her face.

One thing that I do love is that Andy very deliberately called Sharon by her rank when addressing her in front of Davis. When Andy hasn't used her rank since season 4 in front of the squad. It's really great because it really shows that Andy (as we have seen since they have gotten involved) is totally committed to making their relationship work in the office.

So that when it comes to someone of a higher rank that's not in their circle it's Captain all the way. He also probably figured that it would just be more ammo for Davis to sling at Sharon. But it didn't even seem to matter that he followed protocol on that front. 

"Thanks for your advice, sir. But in the absence of firm leadership I have a duty to prevent this department into breaking up into self interested factions." Davis thinks Sharon is too soft with her squad. That they are pushing their agenda for cases over what (in her mind) should be priority. She thinks that Sharon is letting the cheating in the train exercise go and not punishing Provenza correctly. Also that She's dating and living with one of her lieutenants. Davis thinks that Sharon is too close to her squad to lead them out letting her feelings get in the way. 

Davis obviously doesn't know Sharon very well.

Sharon and Fritz

I really love this scene between the two of them. Both of them are watching out for the other. Fritz who has been aware that Stroh has possibly returned and gives Sharon the file that has been gathered on him. And Sharon telling Fritz to watch himself around Davis. I have to say that Sharon is a pretty good read on people. So that makes me nervous as to what Davis will end up trying to do to either one of them. As of right now Davis is out for blood and she seems determined to get the job and to take down anyone in her way.

"The Past is never really over." Stroh. I was really hoping that this storyline was over. Since we've had so much of this guy now. I really don't want him to be back but it seems that the show is determined to have some kind of resolution to his character. Also because I'm sick of serial killers coming after Rusty. We've had 2 years and his introduction into the show for that. I'm pretty done with it.

The Romantic Heart The Love Triangle; Allie King/Jeffery Day/Trent Meyers The two men in Allie's life were seemingly so different. One was kind of dorky, smart, uber rich, orderly and not conventionally attractive. The other one was handsome, blue collar, messy, surfer and sports fan.

So what was it about this guy that attracted Allie (besides the money)?  It's pretty clear from the interviews that Day was pretty controlling in his relationship with Allie. He's got a GPS on her phone and he's got a temper. Sure signs of an abusive guy. Which is the link between the two men. We are introduced to her past boyfriend Trent by way of Jeffery telling the squad that Allie had a restraining order against Trent. Allie's got a thing for violent, controlling men. 

Turns out that Jeffery killed Allie because she wanted to leave him for her ex Trent. Which brings us to the parallels. From Allie King's relationships with Jeffery and Trent. Sharon's relationships with Andy and Jack. And Rusty's relationship with Gus.

Trent originally lost Alie because he was selfish, immature, had a temper and drank too much. Things that we see in Rusty in the way that he treats Gus in his selfishness and immaturity (although hopefully Rusty is turning a new leaf. He seems to be more aware of himself in his relationship with Gus). Much in the way that Jack treated Sharon when they were married. His needs always came first. Hell that's the reason why Sharon became a police office in the first place. Not to mention that his drinking addiction and temper got in the way of their relationship. And while I never would call Jack violent in the physical way. He was most probably verbally abusive. 

One thing about Trent is that he tries to make amends with Allie and she seems like she wants to give it another go. He seems to realize just what he lost. In the way that Rusty thinks maybe it might be over between him and Gus. Immaturity, a bad temper and drinking addiction are also all bad traits of Andy as well. Most of which he's gotten control over. We even see his temper flair when Day punches Sharon. And I would have no doubt if Sharon hadn't stopped him that he would have 'beat him to a pulp'. Andy is the Trent that's seen the error of his ways and just what he lost and how much he hurt those he cares about.

Rusty and Gus I'm not really sure what this move will mean for their relationship. Since there may seem to be some contention later on in the season in their relationship. And we don't get Rusty's reaction to Gus' asking Rusty to move in with him. Perhaps Rusty says no to moving in and that pushes them apart? Maybe Rusty may not be mentally ready to leave Sharon just yet. Or perhaps he may think that it's too much on his plate with finishing college and the later law school. I do love how they ended the episode without Rusty giving Gus an answer and the doors closing on us.

Sharon and Andy

"Relationships were so complicated at that age." So far from what we've seen of their relationship. The biggest point of contention between the two has really been their protective nature towards the other. And Andy pushing their relationship forward with Sharon lagging behind. In those two ways the two of them seem to be in different gears. 

We’ve got a protective Andy here when Sharon provokes Day into loosing his temper onto her face. I love that the first thing that Andy does when going into the interview room is to look towards Sharon to see if she’s alright. Quickly seeing that she is turns is focus and anger out on Day. I have no doubt that Andy would have followed through on his threat if it weren’t for Sharon. He gives her that look of total frustration at having to stop. But he just can’t help himself and lets Day know just what he missed out on. 

So now that Andy threatened to beat up their suspect. I would bet that this is just more ammunition for Davis to push at Sharon. And I wonder if it will become a point of contention between the two of them this season. 

Also I just love the camera work in the ‘punch’ scene. The camera starts to zoom in on each of the characters and builds up speed until the suspect blows. 

Just look at these two cuties! With Andy sticking to Sharon like glue while escorts her to the break room to attend to her face. 

The Running theme of Marriage There seems to be an awful lot of talk about Marriage in this episode. From Rusty fret over Gus's bizarre text, on thinking that it's a breakup to Andy thinking it's a marriage proposal. To the victims relationship with Day and Provenza's lovely comment... "It's always the fiance." He was right actually. 

I want to point this out because of the press release on the storylines in 5b. And Duff talking about a possible engagement between Sharon and Andy in 5b. And as us fans know MC loves to foreshadow when it comes to Sharon and Andy's relationship. Provenza's comment to Sharon makes me think that Andy has talked proposal to Provenza. And with Andy thinking that Gus wants to propose to Rusty, it may just seem that Andy has marriage on his mind.

They Raydor/Flynn/Beck Family

One of the things that I loved about 5a was the developing family unit between Sharon,Andy and Rusty. Which seems to be continuing here in 5b as well. I really love seeing them interact as a family and not just Sharon and Rusty. Here we've got them having a family dinner. Who has those anymore? I'm sure that Sharon and Andy are both super busy at work on some nights. And Rusty has college plus his internship with Andrea. So imagine this is probably pretty rare. And they seem to go all out here. Also it's really cute because it seems that Sharon and Andy made dinner together. 

My thing here is why is Rusty calling Andy "Lieutenant"? I know the two of them are not really close but they live together so it just seems weird that he still wouldn't address him by name.

Also I 100% love the face that Andy gives Rusty. When he thinks that Gus wants to ask him to marry him.

Snark of the Night goes to Julio. You have to give it to Ray Cruz and is fantastic delivery when it comes to snark. You have to love his dry humor. 

"Who died?"

"No we didn't cheat. The Lieutenant sacrificed himself for others." - hands down my favorite line of the episode! And Provenza's response. "As is my nature."

"Gaeta Fletcher" - How many people have the name Gaeta? Only one person that I can think of Felix Gaeta from BSG. Could this perhaps be a BSG reference? Wouldn't put it past knowing that Duff is a huge fan.

What I liked about this episode...

Pretty much everything was great in this episode. I didn’t think that it was an amazing episode but it was a pretty great episode for a premiere. We got a suspect provoked into physical retaliation against Sharon which is something I never thought that I’d actually see on here. It’s always been Sharon comforting her squad. So it’s really nice to see the other side of that here. With Andy, Provenza and Julio (mostly in particular) go all uber protective on her. 

There was lots of Shandy without it being a big focus. So I really loved that. I mean I’m always for it being a big focus but I think you catch my drift. It’s pretty great to see Sharon have a foil. She really hasn’t had a big one since Jack. There was Emma but she was a huge let down and was pretty disastrous as a foil.

What I didn’t like about this episode...

The lack of addressing Andy’s Heart Attack. They didn’t even give it a name. Just something that happened so now he’s on light duty. And everyone knew that he wasn’t dead. There were pictures of him on set and in costume. It’s not like they kept it a secret so why the reveal of him in the morgue?

And yeah I mentioned my mixed feelings on Davis. I’m excited about the rest of the season for this storyline but at the same time feels kind of juvenile. I am glad that there is some discord in the workplace after years of having so much harmony. I am hopeful for the rest of the season.
