i've  always  liked  to  use  the  metaphor  that  irminsul  is  a  computer  —  or  really,  an  equivalent  of  wikipedia  where  the  information  currently  recorded  on  it  is  pages  is  reflected  in  the  memories  of  the  people  of  teyvat.  that  by  erasing  himself,  scaramouche  effectively  hacked  into  irminsul  and  deleted  his  page.  my  favorite  thing  about  coming  up  with  alternate  universes  for  muses  is  taking  what  foundation  canon  provides  us  and  seeing  how  i  can  translate  it  into  a  different  setting  —  so  for  the  purposes  of  modernverse,  ren  is  a  hacker.  specifically,  the  criminal  sort  (  black  hat,  no  pun  intended  )  specializing  in  identity  theft,  blackmail  and  so  on.  stealing  your  personal  information  and  selling  it  to  the  highest  bidder  —  and  that's  assuming  he  doesn't  have  an  ulterior  motive  to  extort  you  himself.  in  his  spare  time,  he  likes  to  code  ransomware,  make  programs  to  automate  sending  and  responding  to  spam  emails, etc etc.  (  passive  income.  )

and  eventually,  he  reached  his  breaking  point.  dropping  dance,  cutting  his  hair  —  oh,  and  did  he  mention  he's  a  boy?  (  his  name  is  kunikuzushi.  )  shedding  the  proverbial  shackles  keeping  him  tethered  to  his  desperate  pursuit  of  ei's  approval,  kuni  delved  wholeheartedly  into  his  own  interests.  as  it  turned  out,  he  was  something  of  a  prodigy.  a  natural.  a  threat.  he  clung  to  his  talents  for  the  validation  he  wasn't  getting  at  home  —  they  made  him  feel  powerful,  important,  worth  something.  even  if  it  came  at  the  cost  of  taking  advantage  of  other  people.  that  was  just  the  way  this  world  worked,  wasn't  it?

he's  in  his  late  teens  when  aunt  makoto  dies  under  MYSTERIOUS  CIRCUMSTANCES.  his  entire  family  falls  apart,  unraveling  like  a  poorly  knit  sweater.  it's  not  too  long  after  that  kunikuzushi  receives  a  very  peculiar ...  job  offer,  so  to  speak.

the  fatui  are  a  dangerous  bunch.  though  they  maintain  a  relatively  cordial  public  image,  behind  the  scenes  they  are  downright  vicious  in  their  bids  for  power.  it's  a  very  poorly  kept  secret;  everyone  knows  they  have  ill  intentions  —  yet  no  one  can  seem  to  pin  their  criminal  activities  on  them  in  such  a  way  that  they  might  be  held  accountable.  kunikuzushi  quicky  becomes  an  invaluable  asset.  his  particular  skillset  allows  them  to  point  him  in  the  direction  of  any  prospective  threats  and  dig  up  any  information  that  could  potentially  be  used  as  blackmail.  sometimes  it's  simple;  evidence  of  infidelity,  skeletons  in  the  closet.  however,  not  everyone  kuni  targets  dabbles  in  sordid  affairs  behind  closed  doors  —  and  for  those  unfortunate  souls,  he  needs  to  get  a  little  more  creative.  cracking  into  bank  accounts,  collecting�� social  security  numbers  and  other  pieces  of  personal  information.  if  all  else  fails,  he  isn't  opposed  to  deliberately  planting  evidence  the  fatui  can  threaten  to  leak.  he  viciously  ruins  countless  lives  over  the  next  few  years  —  but  he  doesn't  care,  because  he  feels  useful  and  powerful.  more  than  he  ever  has  before.

it  all  comes  crumbling  down  when  an  anonymous  message  nudges  him  to  look  into  his  employers.  that  they  aren't  being  entirely  HONEST  with  him.  kuni  regards  it  with  skepticism  at  first,  but  eventually  decides  to  humor  it  —  and  what  he  does  discover  changes  everything.

so  kuni  decides  to  erase  himself.  he  fakes  his  own  death  —  an  electrical  fire  in  his  wire-filled  apartment.  a  corpse  too  burnt  to  retain  any  recognizable  details.  fortunately,  an  anonymous  tip  stops  the  flame  from  spreading  before  any  other  lives  are  claimed  by  the  blaze  —  but  kunikuzushi  is  declared  dead,  and  life  goes  on.

He also likes to play silly little fantasy games like Wizard101 (nostalgia) and Genshin Impact. It makes for great chill content on days where he’s a bit more tired than he lets on.

Is definitely not free to play, btw. If he wants a certain character or item he will get it.

In the beginning it was fine, people could talk in multiple chat rooms, but as he grew in popularity.. weirder and weirder people joined. It got to a point where he had to just.. get rid of everything. The only people who can talk on the server now are those who are subscribed to his Twitch for four or more months.

Even then, if they break a strict rule there will be no mercy.

It’s not something he’s happy about, but he cares more about others comfort and safety than overall happiness.

Childe is nice, don’t make him angry.

Of course, he goofs off in the server with his buddies, which is entertaining enough.

He’s pretty much a variety streamer, playing all sorts of games. Was definitely on that Among Us craze. Anything that can be fun he’s going to try.

Doesn’t like horror games all too much but MAN he still plays them if they interest him.

If they’re multiplayer, he’ll always collab with Xiao. Their screaming matches are top tier comedy.

Literally looks like the most level headed person but he’s grasping onto the last strings of his sanity so he doesnt go berserk on stream like that one time when Scaramouche one-shotted him and he got so pissed he accidentally broke his finger from wildly swinging his arms around.

He never lets his popularity get to him, he just wants to have fun and that’ll never change. If people want him to be their sponsor, he does an extensive background check and makes sure the thing is 100% good for him and his followers.

Yeah he doesn’t have many because of this, but he makes more than enough money to not care about it.

He’s the king of Instagram, always going out and taking hot photo’s.. narcissist but its ok.

There’s never a dull moment living with him, he’s eccentric and can make you giggle so easily it’s not even fair.

Cleanest guy you’ll ever meet. Enjoys cleaning for some reason, relaxes him. He just likes living in pristine clean conditions.

He has his dark days, where things become so overwheming.. it feels like there are eyes everywhere watching him and he wants to hide under the covers.. Everyone has a breaking point, and this man has seem some seriously fucked up shit and been through even more fucked up shit because of him being a streamer. He can handle it, but the thought of you getting caught up in it makes him feel sick.

He.. has severe anxiety, and sometimes might even pause the stream because an anxiety attack takes his breath away.

He just really needs you near him most of the time.. Just chilling in a beanbag chair not far away from his computer desk is very cool. He’s clingy but not in a suffocating way. More like in a way where you keep him grounded.

You presence is beyond calming. Knowing he has you means everything.

He’s pretty good at hiding his emotions on stream though, he wants people to feel happy and have fun when watching him.

About once every two months, he has a 36 hour stream, all proceeds go to a charity. If a major event happens in the world, he’ll try to do a 12-24 hour stream and donate revenue to the organization thats helping.

Makeup KING. Has an extensive bathroom routine. You’ll never see him with dry skin or baggy eyes (unless its a long stream).

He likes helping small streams! Every month he compiles a list of recommended small streamers, even has an “End Of The Month Recommendation Stream” where he and his followers watch a small part of the streamers past stream as to advertise it.

Yooooooo for sagau what if the imposter that tries to kill true god reader is a hacker that aims to destroy, corrupt or take over your Genshin world.

I got this idea when people mentioned that they had their Genshin accounts hacked.

So imagine this the reader awakens in the Genshin impact world after crying them selves to sleep because their account was hacked (Because let’s be honest for all the hours put into playing the game I’d cry too). When they meet their first npc they have to deal with the whole imposter situation and get hunt down. So in order to survive they do everything to avoid all the npcs and playable characters; but the mobs and monsters don’t attack player since the player is recognized as a part of the world while the hacker who is the true imposter is seen by the mobs and monsters as an outside force to be eliminated.

Monsters will also attack the characters who attack the reader as they’ll view the character to be a corrupted file that’s trying to destroy the source file which is the reader.

So to beat this version of sagau the player has to uncorrupt or restore the connection between themselves and the characters.

Playable characters with high friendship will be harder to corrupt and easier to befriend. While the lower the friendship stay the easier it is for the character to be corrupted by the hacker.

While crowning a character will make the said character more aware of the fact that their in a game like world. While those who aren’t crowned will be more unaware that anything is amiss to begin with.

While the world rank of the world will also increase the difficulty for the hacker and the characters who side with the hacker as this increases the strength of monsters.

Also non playable characters that you would normally fight that aren’t common npcs like fakebedo/rubedo or Scaramouche are likely to befriend and defend you as they are considered mobs on the same idea of how the monsters wont attack the reader.
