"Wartortle makes sure to leave only the child's face exposed, giving him room to breathe, while ensuring that he was as protected from the cold as possible. His hands keep repeating the same motions over and over.
He never thought he'd have to be a parent. Then again, he doesn't even know if he deserves that title, probably not. Definitely not."
"It was funny in a way, in a way that truly wasn't funny at all. He had always been the most responsible out of his old friends. At times, he almost felt like a pseudo-parent in their messed up excuse of a childhood, always lecturing the other two and trying to keep them out of trouble. Always trying to keep everyone alive.
Then again, he hadn't been good at it then either.
But at least, when he was a kid, he actually knew the people he claimed to care about. Or at least he hopes he did. He does."
The fact these are from a Starter Squad fic is insane.
RHEHHRRJRJDID thanks! (I think)
I am very emotionally attached to this weird turtle and the weird kids that showed up for half of an episode.

For the ST prompt: protective, cuddles, soft. the fruity four
(My askbox is open for ST prompts!)(Previous Prompts)
The call comes a little after 2am. There's only a few people that would call that late, and Steve's not asleep anyway, so he picks up.
"Can I come over?" Robin asks without preamble. They both know the answer is yes, of course, so Steve knows that's not the question she's asking.
"Yeah, gimme 15," he tells her, already plucking his keys off the hook.
They don't come straight back to Steve's after he picks her up. He does a loop around town, checking on all of houses of their group. Assured of their mundane condition, he heads out of town to cruise some of the long roads on the outskirts, letting the summer air run warm through the open windows. The stars shine so bright in the clear night sky it seems they mean to make up for the absence of the moon. Robin hangs her elbow out the window, fingers folded together and her chin on her wrist to watch them.
Steve mostly watches the road, content to let his mind fuzz to the comfortable emptiness of driving an open road, but even so he doesn't miss the flash of a big, chunky van parked off the road in the middle of a fallow field. Robin looks over when he brakes, eyes flicking up to Eddie's van as well. She doesn't question when they park on the shoulder, or when they get out and begin to trek across the field.
"How'd you find me?" Eddie asks from the roof, as soon as they're close. He's lying on top of a big blanket,
"Couldn't sleep," Steve says at the same time as Robin says: "Spying on you with satellites."
"Funny," Eddie says, holding up a can with a flick of his wrist to Steve, who passes it to Robin before popping the top on the beer Eddie hands him next.
Steve collapses into sitting up near Eddie's head, and Eddie shifts and wiggles until he can get his head on Steve's lap like an overgrown puppy. Robin waits until they're settled before she sits as well, and then leans back to lie with her head on Eddie's belly. She doesn't open her can, just sets it beside her and tips her head to look up at the stars again. Without the headlights, no streetlamps in sight, the dusty arm of the milky way spans in a slash across the sky.
"Wayne again?" Steve asks after a little while, fingers gently threading through Eddie's hair. Most of it is already splayed in a halo over Steve's lap from his fiddling, but Eddie never minds.
"Yeah," Eddie agrees. He always leaves the trailer when it's Wayne in his nightmares, when he gets skittish that the Upside Down is going to destroy everything they own again when it comes for him. Sometimes he comes to one of their houses, but Steve has learned that when it's bad, really bad, Eddie comes out here, to where he's not even really in town anymore. Where he won't endanger anyone if a gate opens and swallows him whole.
"Come over next time," Steve tells him quietly. "Call me."
"Or me," Robin says. "Or Nancy. That's what I did."
"You called Nancy?" Eddie asks, gaze flicking up to Steve's face as he smiles.
Robin rolls her eyes. "I called Steve.
"Russians?" Eddie asks, but lightly.
"Vines," she says, barely a breath, as if she can feel them around her throat all over again even now.
Eddie reaches a hand to her and she catches it, threading their fingers. "Hate that one." He hadn't even been caught by the vines, but the other three had described it enough times. "Steve?"
Steve shakes his head. "Never got to sleep in the first place," he admits. He does sleep, he just does it when there's daylight, when he can wake up without feeling like he's back in it.
"Steve..."
"It's fine, Robin," he assures her. "I swear I'm getting enough sleep." They've had this argument a dozen times since he fell asleep at work because he hadn't slept at all the night before.
"I can come stay for a few days, if you're having trouble," Eddie offers tentatively. "Wayne won't mind having the place to himself."
"You don't have to..." Steve starts.
"I know," Eddie says simply, no other explanation. They've also had this conversation more than once, and it always ends the same. Steve still hasn't won this kind of fight, with either of them.
"...Yeah, okay."
Eddie nods and returns to stargazing with Robin, Steve sipping at his beer until headlights slash across the dark down the field. He watches the little station wagon run the length of the road, turn, and come toward them slowly. It pulls up behind Steve's car, and even though it's too dark and too far to tell who it is, they all know.
Nancy drops her armload of blankets on Robin's head once she's climbed to the top of the van, and it might be a cramped situation if she didn't basically pile herself on top of the three of them, curled up around Robin with the blanket over both of them and part of Eddie. Steve smiles as Robin passes her the can she's protected.
They split the cherry Coke - Nancy's secret favorite, which she'd only admitted once in a game of truth or dare a few weeks ago - in silence for a little while. Steve finishes his drink and sets the empty can next to Eddie's behind him. No one bothers asking how Nancy had found them; they'd been to this field as a group several times, and even if they hadn't, Steve at least is convinced there's nothing Nancy can't figure out.
"Fire," Nancy says to the stars, when her can has joined the others.
"Vines," Robin says, and then nods to Eddie without taking her arms out from under the warm blanket. "Wayne." Then she looks at Steve and he knows what's coming even before she says: "Didn't sleep, again."
"Steve..."
"Oh my god," he says with a laugh. "Eddie already agreed to stay over."
"I'm sure that means you asked for help when you needed it," Nancy says. Somehow, a little bit of guilt flushes under his skin, even though he knows she's dragging him out of concern.
"You know he didn't," Robin says.
"I know he didn't," Nancy says. "He never does."
"Hey," Steve protests. "I'm trying, okay, Nance? It's just..."
"I know," she says, and she does. She knows he's never really had anyone to ask for help from, and that it simply does not occur to him. Layer that with his desire to be as little burden as possible, and his need to protect others... she knows. It's difficult to learn better.
"We should just... get a place," Robin says, offhand. Everyone turns to look at her. "Sorry! Is that weird?"
"Like, together?" Eddie asks, glancing from her up to Steve, as if Steve might've understood Robin better. Not the case. "A place together, the four of us?"
"Um... yeah?" Robin says, hesitant. "We hang out all the time anyway, and... y'know, then... we don't have to sneak anywhere in the middle of the night. We don't... wake our parents up screaming."
Eddie hums. "We just wake each other up."
"Or someone's there to wake us up before the screaming starts," Nancy points out. She does not at all sound opposed, which surprises Steve.
"Plus, if- I mean, it's not like I want any of this stuff to keep happening, but it does keep happening, and if we had our own place, like... we wouldn't have to worry about anyone walking in or catching us."
"Home base," Steve says.
"Yeah," Robin says, relieved. "It wouldn't- it doesn't have to be forever, but... it would be nice, I think."
They sit in silence. Steve can't honestly think of anything that's sounded better in his life; he hates living in his empty house, hates the pool out back and the woods beyond it, hates it more when his parents do come home and screw everything up. He can't even imagine the relief of coming home to a full house of people he actually likes. Of having part of his chosen family at hand, where he can see them, touch them, assure himself they are all safe at the same time.
"I'm in," Nancy says, after a while.
"You can bring Jonathan," Robin offers.
Nancy just shakes her head. Steve feels badly for her. She hasn't left him, but she's been angry with him for a while over his decision to keep things from her. She understands why- they all do. He'll be moving back soon, now that Hopper's back, and Steve's not sure he's looking forward to the upheaval that will cause. Or maybe it won't- maybe he'll just settle in where he ought to have been all along. That's a bridge to be crossed or burned later.
"Yeah, me too," Steve agrees quietly. "It'll be a lot easier to get a house with four of us."
"With that many bedrooms?" Eddie asks. "I haven't looked at real estate prices but-"
"You really think we need a bunch of rooms?" Robin says, twisting to give him a skeptical look. "Planning on spending a lot of nights alone?"
Eddie blushes, even by starlight, and mumbles something under his breath that even Steve doesn't catch. "That mean you're out?" Steve asks.
"No," Eddie says. "I mean, I gotta talk to my uncle, but I followed you lunatics into another dimension to fight monsters. After all that, house seems pretty domestic."
"Har har," Robin says at the pun, but Steve smiles when Eddie looks at him expectantly. "So... now what?"
"It was your plan, Buckley," Eddie says.
"Yeah, but I was just-"
"Now we get home before our parents notice," Nancy interrupts, gesturing toward the horizon where it has begun to turn a lighter shade of dark, heralding dawn. "And... we'll start looking. There's a lot of people leaving town, after what happened. We can probably get something bigger than we would have otherwise."
"I can start looking into financing," Steve offers, heart a little lighter at the prospect of being useful. "I'm sure my dad knows someone."
Robin's grinning full-on now. "Are we really gonna do this?"
"Sure looks like it," Eddie says with a smile.

Killian tried to shake off his nerves as he drove to Emma's apartment. Just because he hadn't dated in years didn't mean he was gonna be bad at it- he had to remind himself of that. It was just a simple, formal but casual get-together.
His phone started ringing in his jacket pocket.
"That's probably Emma, calling to cancel at the last minute," he thought, but when he looked at his screen he realized it was worse than that.
He sighed as he picked up the phone and swiped the call icon while trying to keep his eyes on the road.
"I'm on the road right now, can I call you back later?"
"Well, hello to you too." the sarcastic and disappointed voice replied
"Two seconds into the call and I've already messed up," Killian thought, "This must be my new personal record."
"Hi, dad." Killian tried not to let the disdain in his voice show.
"I was just calling to see if you'll make it to Liam's graduation."
"I'm not sure," he said, having forgotten entirely about his little step brother's high school graduation, "I haven't looked at my schedule yet for next weekend."
"Why not?" his father asked, clearly very annoyed, "You've known about this for months."
"I know," Killian said, "And I'll see if I can make it. I've been busy as of recent, and a little tied up with things at the museum."
 "Museum?"
"Yes, dad," Killian rolled his eyes and pretended he wasn't disappointed, "the one displaying my exhibit."
"Oh yeah." his dad replied, then changed tone, "Fiona said if you come to bring that potato salad you like to make, for Liam's party."
"If I'm not busy I will," Killian said, hoping beyond hope that something would come up between now and then, "right now I have to go; I'm on my way to a charity fundraiser dinner…."
"That's nice," his dad interrupted. "The graduation starts at seven on Friday. See you then."
With that, his dad hung up, like he hadn't heard a word Killian had just said- like he hadn't heard anything Killian had said for a long time.
He tried not to let it cast a pall on his evening. He was about to escort a lovely lady to a fancy dinner, to help benefit a cause he cared about- and not even a phone call from his dad had been strong enough to ruin that.
He parked outside her apartment building and called her, hoping she wouldn't bail on him now.
"Hello," her voice over the phone said.
"Hey, Emma," he said, "it's Killian. Killian Jones. I'm here whenever you're ready."
 "I'll be right down."
She hung up the phone and he stepped out of the car. He slid his phone into his pocket, then checked himself again in the car mirror, hoping he still looked at least half as good as he thought he did when he left. Then he leaned against the car, watching the door of the building, waiting for Emma.
When the door finally opened and Emma stepped out, Killian stood up straighter, hoping she wouldn't catch how awestruck he was by her. Her deep red dress was long, but cut low, and she wore a similarly colored shawl overtop.
"Good evening, Emma," he held his hand out, and she met it with hers.
"You clean up nice," Emma smiled, her eyes scanning him a few times over.
"I was gonna say the same thing about you," he said, "though the words 'stunning,' 'radiant,' and 'beautiful' also crossed my mind."
She rolled her eyes, but her cheeks flushed with a pink like the clouds behind them.
He escorted her to the other side of the car, holding the door open and then closing it once she got in, then ran back around to his side of the car.
"What kind of music do you like to listen to?" Killian asked, pulling up Spotify on his phone as he sat down.
"That depends," Emma said, "will you judge me if I say country?"
"Rascal Flatts or old era Taylor Swift?"
"I like both," Emma said, "Dolly Parton and Alabama aren't bad either."
"Sounds great," Killian said, quickly pulling up a country music playlist to play on his car's Bluetooth speaker.
Emma looked over at him, and they exchanged a smile as the first song's lyrics played on the car's radio:
"At last I have caught up with you and you're a sight to see."
He started the car and they were soon off.
"Can I be honest?" Emma asked.
 "Sure," Killian said.
"I've never been to one of these things in my life." Emma said.
"Really?" Killian looked over at her and gave a reassuring smile, "then be prepared for four of the most tedious and boring hours of your life."
"You sure know how to charm a girl."
"Just giving you a heads up, of course," he said, "there'll be a lot of boring stiffs and stuffy old people who the museum has made certain will attend, and we'll have to carry on conversation with each of them at least once or twice."
 "Delightful."
"There'll also be wonderful food," he made eye contact with her in the rear view mirror, "and a few tolerable, if not enjoyable attendees to share it with. We'll have a good time anyways."
 "Okay," Emma smiled.
"And if it does end up being stuffy and boring the whole time," he half laughed, "I guess I'll just have to take you out to dinner again sometime to make up for it. If you'd give me a second chance, I'm sure I could come up with something at least eight times better than this, should it go horribly wrong."
"Then let's hope it's the worst night of my life."
He turned to look at her for half a second, reading her playful smile and dancing eyes that shone with the surrounding sunset- then quickly turned his gaze back on the road so he didn't get lost in her beauty and miss his next turn.
"Then I hope you have a rotten time too," he smiled.

Hi it's evillous AU anon again!! Now i've got time and it's not 11pm so I'm going to try and dump all my thoughts on it in your askbox >:D I started conceptualizing this while the election arc was still ongoing and something i've learned is that it's really difficult to make a complicated au of a story with characters that are constantly developing. several times i've assigned characters to one role only for the literal next day have a new plotline start that makes them fit a different role so much better and then i have to change everything around again. So this is 100% going to be outdated in like a week tops lmao. I've also taken a lot of liberties with things like who reincarnates into who and what order some events happen in, so it doesn't 100% fit the structure of either story. For reference i leaned toward making the relationships line up more with the QSMP storyline rather than evillous canon and its still heavily a WIP so things are going to be changed around a lot probably even while im writing this ask. I put a lot of thought into how the original sin arc would go in this au and there's a lot of details to it so to shorten it just a little bit i'll just explain that the federation serves as an overarching force/government/scientists thing throughout the entire story. they're conducting an experiment on the islanders where they're stuck in a cycle of reincarnation for 1000 years and their lives are going to be extensively documented to see what changes about them and how their society develops. The seven sins are something dropped into the world by the codes in order to mess with said experiment rather than being created by one person's soul like in the original story because tbh i hated that. I put ElQ in the role of Irina and Bad in the role of Elluka. I think they fit really well because I can then interpret The Song I Heard Somewhere as ElQ vowing revenge on Bad for assassinating him (in canon, at least. for AU purposes he kills all the other election candidates and wins) and Bad REALLY fits the role of the morally grey immortal whos creation is marked by a catastrophic event that destroys a whole civilization and they carry the guilt of that for their entire lives. As for the sinners themselves I haven't entirely figured them out yet? but for a couple of them i've got really detailed thoughts. For reference I also made it so each of them can reincarnate as many times as needed even if they've contracted with a sin before because I didn't want to remove characters from the story entirely. so: - Lust: I have no idea who i'm even going to begin to put into this role but the most likely candidate would be Pierre i think because of the whole bed thing? - Gluttony: I had Cellbit as this because of the whole cannibalism history thing he's got but other than that I hadn't really thought about it too much. I am sad to report however that the more BBH talks about eating living beings and inedible things he may fit better. it'd also be funny for the immortal assigned the task of gathering the sins to be the demon of gluttony itself. - Pride: tbh this one is pretty difficult to assign a role to because of how specific the original arc is and how it technically involves two characters. It's not something I could've put many characters in without really mischaracterizing them and I was thinking my best bet was probably Forever but then the happy pills happened and there's no way i could've not made him sloth. So my most recent idea was to change the pride story almost entirely and put Pac in the role? But more in the sense of 'two criminals are always fucking things up for the federation get a bit too cocky and have a warrant out for their arrest, Mike getting Pac to flee and as the feds are able to get at least one of them they're like "eh fuck it watching as your platonic soulmate dies is good enough torment for the other one."' but also idk. (1/2)
Ohhhh anon so sorry I forgot to check my inbox to reply to this BUT NOW I'M HERE AND AGH THIS SOUNDS AWESOME
First of all, I love Bad as Elluka (also i'm listening to survival ma, really sets the vibes I think) and also he is such a perfect choice for the demon of gluttony, like he would die by eating himself like Conchita (also who would be Carlos I wonder? Have no clue but someone gotta sing the best Kaito song ever made, drug of gold I love you so much)
And hum lust is a difficult one to pin down, especially cause like there is not many people I can see going the Duke Venomania route and having a fucking harem? Trying to remember who I saw being attacked by the lust mob more than once in the server and I think it was Bad (he really is Elluka hum, constantly finding sins left and right)
I think that Forever could fit well on pride actually, he is not like Rilliane was of course, but he is prideful in a way. Waiting to be the best president he can and not really accepting that sometimes his ways could be wrong.

List 5 things that make you happy, then put this in the askbox for the last 10 people who reblogged something from you! get to know your mutuals and followers <3
Aaaah Silver! I haven't seen this pop up in my notifs so it was a pleasant surprise to check my inbox!
Honestly, reading some dang funny posts on this hellsite. It's been a while since I had a good chuckle, a chortle, a wheeze that has me to near-tears, and the hellsite brings it.
As much as I'm struggling with it right now, my Honours project. It's been so fulfilling to work and create my own personal thing and learn things I never would've expected if I hadn't been given the go to research.
Speaking of uni, I love hanging out with the first years in my degree! They're so full of life and optimism and gorgeous art that I'm still bewildered that's in my sketchbook from a big meetup and sketchbook swap from a few weeks ago!
Sleep! The fact I've been able to get any sleep at all while doing my studies and internship is a miracle unto itself.
OCs! Not just my original ones for my honours project, but the recent brainrot has been over my Star Wars lad named Maddox - an amnesiac rebel spy who's actually from our world, but came to the GFFA for reasons he's yet to remember and find out. The first years from uni also have been having a blast with my boy and it just keeps fuelling me. His whole OC pitch quoteline was literally 'I know I have amnesia, but have you considered therapy?' And I love that for him.

@ the other anon: Saix did have a hand in bringing back Xion in kh3, but there's no way he had any part of her creation the first time outside of general managerial things like in checking in on replica progress and bringing her out of Castle Oblivion. Seeing how everyone else feels about Vexen's science experiments, the replica project was either completely his idea or Xemnas ordered him to do it. Honestly any of the first 6 members wouldve been more likely to have helped with it directly than Saix. also nicedracula sorry for using your askbox like a forum, we should probably take this somewhere else
No worries, you're good! I enjoy discussing the games and figuring out stuff I hadn't even thought much about. Saix just also happens to be a character that—while I love—I don't have too many thoughts on, so my thoughts are usually not too interesting or add much.
This is all stuff I'm glad to hear input on though considering I do like to make comics and stuff and I'm always worried I'm forgetting a detail or have something wrong 😅 I think this is a pretty universal experience for kh fans, though.

saw from your fic that you're gonna come to nyc for beetlejuice!! just saw it on nov 12 and it's absolutely amazing, you're really in for a treat <3
(also i promise nyc isn't that scary but maybe that's just cuz im native to the city)
[obligatory apologies for how late this is - just checked my askbox for the first time in months and saw a few things I hadn't had the chance to reply to yet!]
I saw the musical back in nov2019 and jan2020! super weird to think of how different the world [and I] was back then. I was still in high school when I saw the show, and now I'm a sophomore in college! my interests have shifted a lot over the years, but I still find myself humming along to the songs every once in a while.
nyc is a pretty fun city! I love being there for <3 days; past that, I start getting claustrophobic LMAO. I'm a dmv kid at heart!

Spidey Rest (Peter x Reader)
Request: @thereadinggeek Hey can u write a fic of Peter x reader where Peter is hurt and exhausted and the reader just helps him shower and dress and makes him food? Just a pure fluffy piece.
At your service! I hope you like it!!💖💖
Next time, please the requests in the askbox!!
Pairing: Peter x Reader
Words: 936
Warnings: Blood/Injuries.
Tumblr media
"I'm going out, please don't stay up too late" your mother said opening the door, "I won't, don't worry, be careful" you hugged her, and then closed the door as she came down the stairs.
That was the routine, at six in the afternoon your mother would leave home for work, "I really don't want to study medicine" you murmured and with good reason, for your mother it was a demanding job, it paid well, but at what price?
Determined to put stress aside for a second, you returned to the book that stole your attention a second ago, your obsession with superheroes was limitless.
Maybe it was the tight leggings, or the colorful leotards, or the goofy lines, either way you loved everything about it.
‘Must be rough’ You thought, adding a sticky note to the page.
The desperate knock forced you to look up at the door, a cold ran through your body, of course, until you heard who it was.
“Y/n, are you home?” You heard his shaky voice and panicked. The Flash would’ve been jealous of how quickly you got off the couch and opened the door, Peter falling onto your shoulder as soon as he saw you.
Without saying much, you helped him inside, kicking the door shut.
One of the few people who knew about his double life was you, and you were more than grateful for it, although it didn't stop hurting that your best friend put himself at risk in that way.
"My God, Peter, you promised me you'd be careful" he let out a snort that could be considered a giggle, "There was a problem with the web-shooter, mid-air, so I fell" you could tell that far, for all the scratches and rests of shattered glass caught in his suit, “More like against a building” you taunted, earning a pained grunt.
“Could…Could you please help me?” how dare he even ask? Of course you were going to!
“Relax big boy, I got you” With difficulty you helped him into the bathroom, he waited patiently for you to fill the bathtub with hot water before starting to take off his suit, although he got stuck because of how much his arms hurt, so you helped him in between giggles.
It wasn't the first time you've seen him naked, although he was decent enough to leave his underpants on. Inevitably, Peter cried out in pain as soon as the water made contact with his wounds, instinctively you held his hands and let him rest his head under your chin as he let out the tears.
"I missed you at school, did you do something fun with Stark?" He looked up at you confused, "I need you distracted Peter, this won’t be very pleasant, I need to take out these large pieces of glass and close the large cuts as much as I can" not knowing how you were calmer than him you told him.
How you managed to maintain your composure, and not to mention, serenity? no idea, but he needed it.
He nodded and started talking about a new project that he was helping him build, he looked very excited, and how could he not be? It was Tony Stark. Keeping the conversation flowing distracted him enough not to notice that you had already removed all the shards, and that now you were just running a soft damp gauze over his wounds.
You bent down and planted a kiss on his hair, "I'll wash your hair and with that I finish your torment” you said amusedly dropping a good amount of shampoo in your hand, to later massage the back of his head towards his neck. For the upper part you were very careful not to let the liquid get into his eyes.
When you rinsed his head, you left him to check certain parts, while you were looking for some clothes that he had lent you (more like: you never gave him back) so that he wouldn’t walk around naked.
"Anything you fancy?" you asked him leaving the clothes on the toilet, "I knew I hadn't lost it! You little..." referring to his Star Wars shirt, he looked at you pretending to be outraged, "I don't know what you mean" you played crazy, “Something sweet” oh his puppy eyes, how to resist them?
"Fine, but first, bandages” You helped him out of the tub, and after a while, you finished wrapping his wounds. “There you go king Tut” You said placing a Smiley face band aid on top of his nose, “You know you’re the best Y/n?” he let out when his head popped out of the shirt hole.
“Yeah, if my patients keep saying that I guess it’s true” you teased, letting him use your shoulder to steady himself as he put on the sweatpants.
Later you two were having a great time in the kitchen, making pancakes, which resulted in you eating the raw batter and Peter struggling to stop you. You two simply were the best duo, you were calmed and collected (Sometimes) and he was like a big puppy.
It was so satisfying for you to hear his sigh of relief, it meant he was feeling better, and also enjoying your ‘lean cuisine’.
After that, you two were just resting in your bed, cuddling not so close because you were afraid to touch one of his wounds, but still holding hands, with his thumb he drew circles on you skin.
“Thank you, really”
“Anytime spidey”
“I…I really love having you in my life Y/n”
“Me too, Peter”
‘I love you’ you both thought.
