My brain has been awful about letting me get art done. One thing that’s been a lot of fun and a welcome break to get the creativity flowing again is creating pony designs for my friends!

I tried to mix Heather’s love of triangles, gingko trees, and an earthy color palette into a cohesive design and I love how it turned out. It definitely feels reminiscent of their vibe.

Today we introduce @hahanimation's boy, Basil!

As always, following the @basilandthym and sharing the story around is so, so appreciated! We put a lot of love into it ♡

With a smile so soft it was barely visible, the alchemist sat at a self-assigned desk, comfortably absorbed in his work. In a notebook he scratched away with fervor. Symbols. Notes. Formulas. Theories. A passion of pursued knowledge in the bound pages. His eyes darted between the items on his desk, cross-referencing the necessary elements of his study; Tonight which consisted of papers carefully placed, hand-picked texts strewn about, and even small crystalline samples that seemed to sparkle in the lamp-light.

A laughing voice called from upstairs, breaking him from his focus.

“Basil! Come join us! Captain’s orders.”

The lanky man, Basil, blinked tiredly. The prospect of leaving his quiet sanctum of concentration easily brought a frown to his face. Seeing no way out,  he sighed and stood, grabbing his journal and a portable writing utensil before making his way to the upper deck of the Draco.

I DM for a group of my friends a homebrew campaign heavily inspired by Zootopia & Beastars that has been lovingly nicknamed “Fantasy Zootopia” by my players. Recently, I’ve been on a kick designing their warrior cat alter egos, they’ve been a lot of fun!

This is Psychicbite (ey,em,eirs), formerly known as Quieteye, based off of Sophro the Moray Eel. Ey have a gift(?) for psychic premonitions that often times lead to more issues than help..

Basil’s updated character sheet!

Basil Genovere has come so far. They have got to be the OC I have put the most thought and love into. And I have to thank my S.O. @sarenderpity for that. Developing them alongside Thym has truly been an adventure. My first foray into Victorian design and the steampunk genre but not my last by a long-shot! I hope to create several more character sheets for the @basilandthym characters we've thought up together. I hope you're ready. 💕 We've got quite the cast of spices for you all to enjoy with us

Chapter 1: The Stowaway

 One year after the battle, the airship Draco had become a legend of the skies.  The craft was the pride of it’s small but glorious fleet, and what a fleet it was.  Six airships, all bearing the star banners of the Arcturus guild.  Like most guild ships, the Draco and her sisters boasted a mix of sturdy defenses and onboard luxury, because like most guilds, Arcturus valued their people above all else.

 Unlike most guilds, Arcturus happened to be the most well-funded scientific institution on the continent.  They had the means to back up their values, and Draco was a subtle show of those means.  Prior to taking down the pirate vessel, it would have been more than reasonable for an outsider to see nothing beyond a display of wealth in the ship.  Now, the role of the war-class science craft was seen as a protective one, loved and trusted among the people.

 Of course, no one loved and trusted it more than the guild members it carried safely from keep to keep, to the great beyond and back.  The Draco was a home away from home to many of Arcturus’ most travelled members, researchers who were always out to unravel the mysteries of the world.  

 Draco was carrying a handful of such researchers back to New London, on a dark starry evening.  Her passengers, a few botanists, an astronomer and their apprentice, a cataloging specialist, and a handful of chemists and social researchers, some with students, were spending the waning hours of the day together on the upper deck.   These scientists were enjoying light conversation and stargazing, a few pointing out the shift in the seasons reflected in the stars.  The Arcturus guild was vast, but it’s members were surprisingly tight-knit, and it showed in the way every single one of them took the time to connect like this.

 Every single one, except a busy alchemist in the second deck lab, who hadn’t yet been pulled away from his work.
