-Being Halfdan's woman would be pretty easy overall because he would make sure to take care of you in any way that you need.

-He would also make sure that some of his brothers' men are watching over you when you are not with hum because he does not want anything to happen to you when he is away from you.

-He always makes sure that you are safe no matter the situation. He just loves you too much for you to be able to get hurt because he wasn't protecting.

-He is also making sure that you are healthy. He will often bring you an extra fur cape when it is cold just to make sure that you do not get sick.

-Him wanting to please you in every way he possibly can. No matter if it is sexual or not. He wants to make sure that you are happy with him.

-He can like never keep his eyes off of you. Like ever. He just finds you so irresistible.

-Him loving to spend time with you at any time of day and just talk to you and get to know you better.

-He will often tell his brother or the other men he is talking to about how beautiful you are.

-Him loving to fuck you however you want it. He also likes to surprise you a lot when it comes to fucking.

So, yes, I did record this quest in my alt acc. HAHSHAHS. I showed my sister the video and she couldn't stop screaming. We wrre both simping for Aether's Voice LMAO. This account is catching up to my main fast because I seriously want to see the archon quest while having Lumine as traveler. After watching this scene, a hc popped up to me. That little hesitation that Aether showed there? I hc that he was thinking what Lumine would say about the decisions he made. Anyways, that's only an hc.

Back to the JP VL, sis said Dain voice kinda hot LMAO. She lost her mind when Aether started speaking though. (I totally didn't record this for her. Nuh-uh. Nope.)

🤎 Halfdan had never anticipated the abundance of affection that would come his way. While he disguised the unhealthy obsession with love of his brother, he secretly desired an honest partner. So when you two finally admitted your shared appreciation for the other, Halfdan was more than grateful for your adoration. Your love was an unexpected but most welcome gift in his life, a beacon of warmth and affection.

🤎 Halfdan's jealousy often stems from his intense desire to protect his loved one. During his lifetime he always protected others, causing him to act before anything could happen. He can't help but feel threatened by others who may pose a potential danger or take your attention away. He becomes particularly suspicious when there are new admirers or allies around.

🤎 While Halfdan appears confident, fearless and strong, he has his moments of insecurity. Getting overshadowed by his brother most of his life only awakened insecure traits. He worries that he might not be good enough for your love, or that you perhaps find someone more suitable. Whenever he watches your conversation with a far more attractive man than Halfdan, he feels defeated.

🤎 Though his insecurities don‘t hold him back. He engages in friendly competition to prove his worth and claim his loved one's attention. Putting his steady arm around your waist, showing up behind your figure or simply grabbing your hand after approaching are his weapons of jealousy. This competitive streak is a way for him to assert his dominance and protect what's his. After all, you’re his beloved, not someone else’s muse.

🤎 Halfdan doesn’t openly admit it, but he is quite possessive when it comes to you. He doesn't appreciate others encroaching on what he considers his territory. Of course he doesn’t view you as an object he possesses, but you’re his significant other - which is why you belong to him only. He subtly marks you when he feels the need to reclaim you, whether it's through physical affection, possessive glances, or subtly leaving hickeys during your intimate moments.

🤎 Sometimes he's jealous but doesn't want to reveal it, due to you having fun and him being in a pleasant mood. Halfdan resorts to watching from a distance. He'll observe you carefully interacting with others and try to gauge the nature of those interactions. This can lead to moments of silent brooding.

🤎 After an evening where his jealousy grew due to you playing drinking games with some men, he will be upfront about it. Halfdan refuses to act childish, especially with you. He saw more than once how miscommunication results in only destruction. Therefore the Viking will approach you openly, expressing his concerns and jealousy. You’re more than thankful for his honesty, as it was a quality many men lacked.

🤎 Some days he won‘t tell you as he does trust your loyalty. Halfdan will only show you more need for affection. He needs to see if you’ll still stay by his side. This leads to actions like seeking for kisses, holding you close, cuddling and going out together.

🤎 On other occasions he puts his foot down, scaring the men who tried to pull you away, taking you by your hand and leaving the event as soon as possible. In times where his insecurities terribly kick in, he seeks for a silent moment, away from all the crowds. You accompany him, knowing how he must’ve felt and little by little his jealousy and worries vanish.

🤎 Nevertheless, Halfdan isn’t the type to fight someone due to jealousy and he isn’t that jealous either. He’s possessive, yes, but in a matter that doesn‘t harm you, your relationship or anyone else. You’re glad you’re dating a mature man who stands to his feelings but doesn‘t need to prove them through violence.

Btw my Halfdain headcanon is that they liked each other for quite some time but kinda danced around their feelings bc of their positions. It would've been inappropriate for Dainsleif to have a relationship with his subordinate, after all.

Their first and only kiss was on the day it all went to hell, right before Dainsleif gave Halfdan his last order: Run. Save yourself.

Ok so y'know that headcanon that pops up every now and then that Albedo is in some way modelled off Dain/Dain is technically his dad? So I was curious about that and compared their eye colours, cause I knew they were similar. Then I went ahead and added Halfdan, too, because he's a sweetheart and would be a much better dad. And also his eyes are also similar. ...and guess what I found.

Albedo's lighter colours are closer to Halfdan, but the shades are closer to Dainslief. Btw all of these were eyedropped directly from Halfdan's model, and Albedo and Dain's character cards.

As for what this means... I'm not sure. But considering they also have fairly similar hair colours I'm thinking there is some correlation here.

...also, I maybe might possibly have a headcanon that Albedo himself is modeled off a biological son that Rhine had at some point, but died before she became "Gold", so she based the Primordial Human Project off of that mystery child.

After so many years of searching, however, they’ve grown tired of being used. He tries to stay optimistic, but it’s a struggle. Being kind certainly isn’t easy.

Lumine is a lot more outgoing than her brother. She’s always been the more sociable of the two, and is very forgiving. However, when they’re pushed to their limits, Lumine is not to be underestimated. Aether might be aggressive, but Lumine has a lot more strength to back it up. As a traveler, Lumine is incredibly no-nonsense. She is not afraid to tell you that you’re a useless piece of shit if it’s the truth.

Being smaller than everyone else, Paimon has always had a problem with being heard. Because of this, she always talks loud around people she cares about. This is why, as the traveler’s journey goes on, Paimon gets louder and louder. She’s getting more comfortable and wants to make sure we don’t ignore her like everybody else does.

Paimon also has trouble reading social situations. She’s very blunt and always says what’s on her mind, whether she’s right or not. This often makes her come off as rude, and the traveler always apologizes to the person and explains to Paimon that what she said was wrong. 

Paimon has muscular dystrophy. She doesn’t just fly for fun, her legs are just too weak for walking. Even flying is exhausting sometimes, so the traveler gives her piggyback rides. This is why she’s so small, too. Her body never produced enough mass for her to grow any bigger than she is right now.

Paimon also has synesthesia and often doodles what her favorite people’s voices and names look like. They go straight to the fridge in the teapot :)

Dainsleif has aphantasia. He keeps a picture of Halfdan in a locket so he can remember what he looks like.

Dainsleif’s curse has made them partially blind in their right eye, as well as given them alien arm syndrome that affects their right arm. They’re constantly exhausted, but at the same time unable to sleep.

He is also a hypochondriac. I headcanon that a few of the archons took pity on the people of Khaenri’ah and released a disease that would kill off the majority of the population as painlessly as possible. Dainsleif saw this virus picking off his friends and family and has been incredibly germophobic ever since. Even though he can’t die, he’s still terrified of that disease.

Rifthounds are very hesitant to attack Dain; I imagine xe used to take care of them when xe was a part of the Khaenri’ahn royal guard. The rifthounds remember xem and will not attack unless xe attacks first.

Note: I believe that the word Viator is Latin for traveler and the surname Asketill is Old Norse for "the sacrifice of the gods" or something similar.

and honestly, that's kind of up in the air until we get more about him (pushes all the random minor khaenri'ah npc ocs i've made with limited information behind me)

but so far my opinion is. negative. bitch sounds like a catholic preacher, and all the Sinners immediately get negative -500 points from me for just letting Khaenri'ah die. i don't care about your quest for self-enlightment, buddy!

but i do have my own thoughts as to how khaenri'ah-era dain was!!! a lot like he is now, with the same dry humor and ability to be stern about his duty, but a lot more light-hearted. i think his tendency to say randomly depressing/cryptic shit still existed then but was just more subdued. dain said weird shit and halfdan and the rest of the knights looked at him like "???"

as for vedrfolnir... well, like i said, he sounds way too preachery for my tastes, but he does intrigue me. he seems to predict the traveler's expected rise to godhood at the end of genshin, and it's possible he predicted his own brother's tragedy ("dain, what is that strand of blond hair to you? someone you must kill? or the object of your penitence?") him and dain being complete opposites in how much they care for people in general is just (chef's kiss)...

if i had to have headcanons about him... i think vedrfolnir would be a weaver/fiber artist bc i love fate weaving/sewing metaphors! he could make tapestries and hang out with the royal tailors and whatnot (totally not giving my "reincarnated khaenri'ahn royal tailor" oc reasons to have beef with him).

i'd imagine maybe part of dain's role as guard captain was trying to catch up to him- whether dain admired or had a positive relationship with his brother is to be seen. i'd imagine they either came from a noble family or were two orphan/nothing kids who rose to fame. i also can't see vedr being much older than dain, for some reason? like 4 years at max.

at the end of it, i don't really have any specific thoughts about dainsleif and vedrfolnir, but i DO have so many thoughts about how they juxtapose dain's relationship with the twins...

like. just the inherent loss and tragedy of it all!!! but also dain's hope that the twins' story can be better, because he doesn't know how to give up on hope or resilience despite all he says otherwise. he cares about them so much despite all his heartbreak, and he wants a better story for them...

i'm not going to be cruel and call vedr heartless without knowing much about him now (and he did help chlothar), but pitting him against "love and grief constantly exude from him" dainsleif, it does seem like dain got more of the compassion out of the two of them. but maybe this is vedr's fucked up way of helping people? like cough cough. hsr sunday

Freyja's cooking was as chaotic as it was beautiful to watch. She insisted that she did it because it was a way of expressing her creativity and individuality. Halfdan watched her as she moved around the kitchen, humming to herself as she cooked and the reason she had him get the brie cheese became rather clear to him. Although at the time it was rather amusing, now he was quite curious as to why she was so interested in it. He'd never been one to really think much of food beyond the fact that it filled him up and gave him the energy to keep moving. But then again, he'd never been around anyone like Freyja before.

"Food is meant to taste good, give you more than just energy and enough to keep you alive," Freyja said, "I have a contact that gives me a small wheel every week, along with two other types of cheese along with it, just to try. He's a very loyal friend." She paused, giving Halfdan a sidelong glance before she added, "You should try it sometime. It's not just about the taste, but about the experience of enjoying it. You can really appreciate the difference."

He replied, "I'm not sure if I understand. You're saying that food can be more than just something we eat to survive?" She nodded, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "But why?" he asked, genuinely confused. "It's not like it's going to change anything about who we are or what we do."

"It will make it far more worthwhile, enjoyable and at the very least pleasant." Freyja answered with a small smile. "I went to Frankia, I had all sorts of things there, but Brie cheese stood out to me the most during my time there, my father also taught me it was important to know how to stay healthy and still eat well, just because we're Vikings, doesn't mean we can't enjoy what we eat."

From that day forward, she wanted to cook for him more often. He was never one to turn down her food, and after tasting the Brie cheese, he found himself enjoying it more than he thought he would. He began to see the world through her eyes, appreciating the little things in life that made it worth living.

At the end of each night, she would say, 'I love you and get back safely,' Despite never living together as a normal couple, they had become quite close. Halfdan found himself looking forward to the times he spent with her, and he couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to have a real home with her, filled with her cooking and the warmth of her presence.

Perhaps one they would or at least they would have in another life, had he not died that day. Had he not died on that battlefield. He would be with her one way or another. Even if it wasn't going to be then. It most certainly would in another lifetime.

Oh gods this is an extremely tough question but also a very good one, thanks anon 💕✨ Let's see, I am assuming we are following the canon timeline, so if they switched I am also assuming it is Sigurd who killed Ivar? Or Ivar just died? Before I dive into a cheap analysis, I only want to say that I do like Sigurd's character, I don't think he was flashed out quite enough in the series but I learned to give him a more defined personality in my headcanons so, I'm gonna answer based on this. And let's start from Sigurd himself. If he had been the one who killed Ivar, then I do imagine that he would feel extremely guilty for the rest of his life. Yes, they hated each other. And yes, they made each other life very difficult, with Sigurd always appearing so particularly prickly against his younger sibling. But in the end, if something so extreme happened by his own hand, I do think Sigurd would be desperate. He would never show his pain. He is too proud. So his pain would mutate, over time, in something like a self-destruction path or a similar internalisation and denial. But if Ivar just died not by his hand, I don't feel Sigurd would care too much. He would just take his death with a shrug. "Such is life." He would say, or "It was his fate." and I imagine he would even be jealous because Ivar had the chance to reach for Valhalla before him. Now, another who wouldn't care regardless would be Bjorn. I never pictured Bjorn as a very affectionate guy, may that be with women, family or brothers. The only exceptions may be his mother and Halfdan - MAYBE. So, he wouldn't care much. He too would just shrug it off, probably easily forget about it.

Ubbe and Hvitserk would care much more. I think both would be broken by pain. Ubbe would take it better, but he would probably still try to understand what happened and, in case of a wrong death, he would look for vengeance or some form of justice. (In case Ivar died by Sigurd's hand, probably he wouldn't be too harsh though). Hvitserk would just be devastated. I am talking the whole spiralling on the edge, like he did in S6a. He would look for justice period. (In case Ivar died because of Sigurd, he would never forgive his brother, I don't think.) Ubbe would eventually recover, but I don't think Hvitserk would ever stop missing Ivar. It is also the reason why I imagine he would carry a token that reminds him of his brother for the rest of his life and he would probably still look for his advice, talking to the wind or to the dark corners of his room. (I know, this is my extremely personal opinion because I adore Hvitserk and Ivar and I consider them the opposite face of the same coin.) I have this sweet image in my head of them cheering to the Gods and to Ivar, honouring his place in Valhalla and knowing they would have seen each other again, eventually.

✦ It's really telling of Halfdan that, in a situation where he's seeing other Black Serpent Knights being defeated by Dain and Aether, not only he wouldn't jump to fight as the first instinct to kick in might be that of helping those who he spent time the longest, but that he would remember Dain despite lacking self-awareness, nothing short of a miracle as per Dain's private musings wondering how he could retain that fragment of self-awareness without "it".

It does make me wonder if they had a very strong bond in the past, that he had a strong sense of duty towards Dain as his captain or both in order for those feelings, even if in memory just that of camaraderie, to transcend 500 years and later on show him around and basically sparing him the suffering of the amplification device. The implications of a strong trust in Dain and not in Abyss Order members of around, if some of those who were present in the Nameless City were Khaenri'ahns despite more than likely recognizing them as fellow citizens are really high and, once again, I'm touched at the thought that Dain was so dearly loved in Khaenri'ah before tragedy struck.

✧ Although very briefly, there is another display of strength Dain shows in dispelling the abyssal energy that surrounds the city with the power he possesses, clearly contrary to the abyssal energy. Given his words regarding a power from beyond and the highly possible chances that what he uses is equally a power from beyond, it's really curious to think that the power of the Abyss and Forbidden Knowledge are powers from beyond the world of Teyvat too.

✦ The more I watch again into the AQs he participates in, the more I'm convinced that at first the small drops of knowledge he shares that aren't as "bombastic" as others are just as important. For instance, that Dain would recognize the civilization ruins of the Nameless City as something even more ancient than Khaenri'ah is (I won't mention that he can tell they resemble to some extent because it's enough to be acquainted with Khaenri'ah to know, not necessarily the other too). And while the fact that he narrates the miscellanies can be treated as canon or not, I do firmly believe that it was deliberate and to say that he does, in fact, possess all of that knowledge.

✧ Another touching thing of importance in this quest is the will of the Black Serpent Knights to keep protecting the Khaenri'ahn civilians (now hilichurls) and, without a doubt, under Halfdan's orders. Even if one were to argue that they are doing what Halfdan is ordering them, there are those whose dialogue texts denote that they agree with the Abyss Order's ways, so those who have been protecting the hilichurls must also have some degree of self-awareness. The fact that Dain's last order too, besides the strong feelings not only Halfdan but potentially other people under his wing in terms of military may have, of protecting everyone no matter if poor or rich transcended for so long under miraculous descriptors as Dain would put it... it really touches my heartstrings.

✦ ◜I have lived with this curse for 500 years, and I have been fully conscious the entire time... Suffice to say, no one understands the curse like I do. It is a way of branding us at the level of the fate of the world itself. When a god applies a curse, it takes effect at a higher level of reality than the person themselves. Even now, I can feel the curse slowly permeating my entire being, becoming part of me, slowly but surely replacing me. Perhaps it may be possible to suppress the corrosive effect of the curse for a time, but cleansing it entirely... Consider it tantamount to burning away an integral part of your body. It is not a process that one could hope to survive.◞

Before jumping into more headcanon territory for this, which I keep in high regard as part of my Dain's background, I have to say that there is something about the small explanation he makes in the bolded quote that rises the question as to how... much he truly knows and if it's possible to get this solely from Irminsul or something else (I don't remove the possibility of his own experiences too, of course). Mainly because in order to enter into a topic of levels of fate and levels of reality and being aware that people are on a lower one than the curse doesn't seem like the easiest thing to learn about, even less to process and be this calm when talking about it.

Now, about what follows next: I'm a firm believer that in his moments of darkness, Dain did try to find ways to rid himself of the curse and when he did find some glimmers of hope that help him soothe the curse, that he reached to extreme levels which, of course, would lead to extreme pain (if we go even darker, I would say that if he wanted to test his limits and truly see for himself if he can die or not, that he'd attempt this for that reason too, once again, in a moment of uttermost darkness in his life) as seen later on by yours truly the amplification device. I'm inclined to believe that he's speaking out of pure experience here and, since he isn't any longer in such a frail state of mind as he must've been in the early moments of the Cataclysm and after Khaenri'ah's destruction, that he's able to talk about it so matter-of-factly.
