“Rosenfeld arrived in China with one of his brothers, but did not integrate into the Jewish community in the city. His political leanings led him to seek out the local Communists, as did a small group of other Jews. The latter included the reporter, Hans Shippe, who greatly influenced Rosenfeld’s views, and the Jewish-Austrian physician, Richard Frey, who had experiences similar to those of Rosenfeld. Rosenfeld believed that the Communist Party would free the Chinese people from both the Japanese invaders and the Kuomintang. In 1942, he became a member of the Chinese Communist Party, and he is still considered a national hero in China.

At the end of 1949, after the People’s Republic of China was founded, Rosenfeld decided to return to Vienna. His Chinese friends advised him to remain in China, claiming that Europe no longer had a place for him. But Rosenfeld wanted look for relatives who had survived the Holocaust. At a farewell dinner held for him before going back to Austria, Chen Yi spoke about his friend’s huge contribution to the revolution and awarded him a badge of merit.

After a short time in Austria, Rosenfeld tried unsuccessfully to return to China. He also tried to emigrate to the United States, but was denied a visa due to his ties with Communist China. In 1951, he moved to Israel, settled in Tel Aviv, and worked at Assuta Hospital. It appears that he was actually waiting for a visa to return to China, but within less than a year he died of a heart attack at the age of only 49.”

As painter, sculptor, designer and architect Max Bill represented the ideal image of a modern artist as propagated by the avant-garde of the 1920s and 1930s. Briefly trained at the Dessau Bauhaus in 1927/28 Bill nonetheless fundamentally embraced its teachings and after WWII revived them at the Hochschule für Gestaltung (HfG) in Ulm. In 1932 he designed a pioneering house and studio for himself in Zurich and consecutively established himself as a jack of all trades. But while architectural commissions remained scarce Bill succeeded in another field, namely exhibition design: the Swiss pavilions at the International Exhibitions in Paris (1937) and New York (1939), the contribution to the 6th Triennial in Milan or the „Die Gute Form“ exhibition in 1949 are just a few examples of his wide-ranging activities in the field. They were characterized by a great deal of transparency, a clear construction and the ability to form a coherent whole of a pluralistic assignment.

That he was also capable of using his experience on a sturdy building demonstrates his magnum opus, the HfG school building in Ulm, Germany: realized between 1950 and 1955 it is a complex, campus-like structure embedded in the hills above Ulm that accommodates lecture rooms, workshops and dormitories in a coherent ensemble. In the years following his departure from the HfG Bill continued to design numerous buildings of which a selection is included in the present monographic issue of 2G Magazine published in 2004 and edited by Karin Gimmi: it covers some 26 buildings and structures by Max Bill as well as excellent introductory texts by Stanislaus von Moos, Hans Frei, Karin Gimmi and Arthur Rüegg who address Bill’s spatial thinking, his exhibition designs and the concrete structural frameworks he designed. In combination with the excellent archival and plan material as well as the excellent photographs, historic and current, this issue of 2G is an excellent source to Max Bill’s architecture, although it can hardly be viewed without his other works.

New challenges have entered the Frey! Bi-Han, Sareena, and Kenshi have joined the Frossie war!

Bi-Han and Sareena side with the Lin Kuei

Bi-Han does it out of clan loyalty more than anything else (He thinks Frost is too good for Cassie, and doesn't come around until Cassie says she agrees with him at which point he fights even harder to defend them

Sareena does it bc she's been where Cassie is, sure she left the Netherrealm bc she hated it and wanted to have life beyond it, but that didn't mean she wanted to turn on her sisters or be separated from them. The fact that even Asherah, the only sister in Earthrealm, won't talk to her bc of Bi-Han hurts her deeply, and she wants better than that for Cassie.

Kenshi tries to play the peacekeeper. He fully believes that Cassie should be allowed to date whoever she wants and the fact that Sonya is going as far as she is unsettles him. But, he is the only defender with ties to the SF and the Shirai Ryu, so he's in the best position to try and resolve this diplomatically before a war can even begin. Once the war starts and it becomes clear that reconciliation isn't possible, at least not yet, he sides with the Lin Kuei

Am 30. Juni 2017 stimmte der Deutsche Bundestag über den Gesetzesentwurf zur "Ehe für alle" ab. Von 623 Abgeordneten (7 der eigentlich 630 Bundestagsmitglieder nahmen an der Abstimmung nicht teil) stimmten 393 für und 226 gegen die Verabschiedung des Gesetzes, welches gleichgeschlechtlichen Paaren die Eheschließung ermöglichen sollte. 4 Abgeordnete (allesamt der CDU/CSU-Fraktion angehörig) enthielten sich.

Bis auf die Stimme der fraktionslosen Abgeordneten Erika Steinbach (ursprünglich CDU, seit 2022 Mitglied der AfD) kamen alle Nein-Stimmen aus den Rängen der CDU/CSU-Fraktion, was bei 225 von 309 Abgeordneten bedeutet, dass knapp 73% der Fraktionsmitglieder gegen die "Ehe für alle" stimmten. (Ja-Stimmen gab es von ca. 24%, die Abwesenden und Enthaltungen machten zusammen ca. 3% der CDU/CSU-Stimmen aus.)

Von den 226 Abgeordneten, die damals gegen den Gesetzesentwurf zur "Ehe für alle" stimmten, amtieren zur Zeit 87 als Mitglieder des Bundestags.

Alle von ihnen sind Mitglieder der CDU/CSU-Fraktion. Im Einzelnen handelt es sich bei diesen Abgeordneten um:

04.09.2023 - Etappe 10 - Drei Zinnen / Lavaredo Hütte -> Sexten / Moos

Das gute Moretti zwang mich diese Nacht leider zweimal aus dem Etagenbett 😜

Das Frühstück war abgesehen von dem sehr guten Weißbrot eher bescheiden, es gab nur verpackte Marmelade, Honig und Butter (nichtmal Schmierkäse und Leberwurst, wie am Vortag - was aber auch kein Hit war).

Nun ging es an die Letzte Etappe unseres Geotrails, bei einfach traumhaften Wetter. Vorbei an Paternkofel und Monte Cenga, noch im Schatten und windig frisch, über den Dolomiten Höhenweg 9, hinauf bis zur Büllelejochhütte (2.528 m), ab hier super sonnig und nur noch im Abstieg, gelangten wir erneut zu einer traumhaften Berghütte mit traumhaften Blick auf ein weiteres Bergjuwel, dem Zwölferkofel (3.095 m). Auf der kleinen Sonnenterrasse der Zsigmondyhütte wurde gerade ein Platz für uns frei, so konnten wir bei perfektem Espresso und Käsekuchen die Sonne und den Zwölferkofel genießen, hier trafen wir auch wieder auf die bereits erwähnte Wandertruppe aus drei jungen Männern. Danach sind wir zügig bergab etlichen schnaufenden, mehr oder weniger glücklichen Wanderern entgegen, die einen schweren Aufstieg bei jetzt ordentlichen Temperaturen zu meistern hatten.

Bis auf einen Trailrunner konnte uns bergab niemand überholen, wir überholten jedoch zwei Pärchen - ehrlich gesagt war aber auch nicht viel nach unten hin los 😜.

Unten im Fischleintal kamen wir an der aus allen Nähten platzenden Talschlusshütte vorbei, entlang des hier zur Autobahn werdenden Via Alpina (Roter Weg), bis dieser ab dem Taleingangsparkplatz wieder zu einer normalen Breite wurde und wir ihn in Folge Zielanflug auf unsere Unterkunft verlassen mussten.

Herzlich wurden wir in Sexten/Moos von Heidi im Tschurtschenthaler begrüßt und haben auf dem Zimmer wieder eine große Waschaktion gestartet, den gestern war dies nicht möglich.

Dann wollten wir, vor dem Abendessen in der Weinstube Hans, noch ein wenig Sexten anschauen. Silvie hat sich in der Touristeninfo noch ein gelbes Buff mit Sexten Aufdruck und eine Drei Zinnen Nadel gekauft, kurz darauf haben wir eine geniale Aperitif Bar, mit echt coolen Sitzmöbeln vor der Tür, in einer extra gesperrten Querstraße gefunden und haben dort einen solchen genossen. Wären wir jetzt noch mehrere Tage hier, wäre dieses Lokal täglicher Anlaufpunkt, wie 2018 in Triest, die Bar Stella Degustazione 😍

Bei Hans in der Weinstube konnten wir hervorragenden Wein aus Tramin (ihr erinnert euch?) genießen und gut zu Abend essen. Das Beste war hier die Bedienung, vermutlich Anfang 80 und topfit im Dirndl hin und her rennend, stets unterhaltsame Sprüche auf der Zunge, nahm sie die Bestellungen auf.

Zufrieden ging es zurück in die Unterkunft, noch was gebloggt und ab ins Bett.

Morgen geht es dann mit Bus und Bahn ins Zillertal, um dort noch eine Woche mit Bernd und Doris die Berge zu erklimmen und wie ich hoffe, etliche Saunagänge und gutes Essen zu genießen 😉

Fazit des Dolomiten Geotrails:

Wenn ich mich recht entsinne, sind die Etappen im Vergleich zur 2018‘er Alpenüberquerung Salzburg-Triest wesentlich anspruchsvoller/anstrengender ausgefallen - wobei mir gerade nicht ganz klar ist, ob es uns damals nicht vielleicht nur einfacher fiel??? Besonders hervorzuheben sind jedenfalls die Dolomiten als solches, in ihrer Vielschichtigkeit des Auftretens, jedesmal traumhaft schön und äußerst faszinierend. Die Unterkünfte waren bis auf eine Ausnahme (Hässlichkeit = Pampeago = Stall) alle sehr gut und auch faszinierend. Alles in allem eine tolle Tour, zusammen mit einer einzigartigen Begleitung 😉😘
