Bi-Han would only be with a partner, imo, if he truly loves them. Loyalty, trust, etc. are all important to him. To be with a person for the sake of being in a relationship imo is not his style. Especially if his father wanted an arranged marriage? He would not be happy with it. He can rule by himself, thank you very much.

When Bi-Han loves you, he loves you. He may not say it much, but he does. It is not as if he thinks saying “i love you” is stupid. No, he understands it is important, he just knows that you know already. In rare moments where he is nearly overwhelmed with affection for you, he’ll say it first. But I think it is more likely he would only say a simple “i love you too” after you say it.

I can’t imagine Bi-Han to be the type of person to fall for someone at first sight or jump into dating someone quickly. I think the only way he’d fall for someone is to be friends with them first and slowly he’d fall, then the feelings would hit him all at once.

Bi-Han finds it hard to deny you. Even when he says no, he is probably thinking of other alternatives for you. Idk! I think this man would be kind of a simp deep down if he truly found someone he loves. But not like overboard, it’d be very subtle. Which is a lot for a frosty man like him.

Bi-Han’s love language imo, is acts of service. Probably small things like making you breakfast, helping you do your hair if you have longer hair, maybe even showing you how to properly stretch if you often feel sore. Little things that add up.

The first character I first fell in love with: Both Princess Leia and Queen Amidala, because when I was little I didn't understand the concept of a prequel. I thought that, because the OT were the old movies, that Princess Leia grew up to be Padme. But I honestly wasn't a huge Star Wars fan until I was older and the ST was coming out, so honestly probably Finn and Rey is a more honest answer.

The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Han Solo. Thought my compulsive need to avoid ever becoming my father would prevent this one. But to be fair, I think I like Han in a very different way than my father does.

My review of XH's Overload!!

First I'll be giving my first thoughts of the song, typing whatever comes to mind. I'll have my actual review right after. This is a long post so if you don't feel like reading everything, I'll be leaving my overall thoughts of the album and a ranking at the very bottom! :)

Oooo groovy!! GUNIL!!! oh~ okay~ is that ode?? damn okAY JUNGSU!! Tralalala bring it back! Yesssss SING THOSE LYRICS LIKE YOU OWN THEM (cuz you technically do) There's the part from the teaser!!! Ahhh it's so good. Very pop rock!!! The rap part! Ode wtf do you mean you don't know what you did? SIR YOU SLAYED MY HEART. I'M BACK ONLINE FEELING LIKE THE AIR~!!! GOING DEEPER AND DEEPER INTO THE CONNECTION~!!! BANANA GIREO GIREO GI~REO GIREOGI(and I can't make out the rest. forgive me I don't know Korean) THATS IT??? wish it was longer TT_TT

Actual review: 10/10

I loved it! I was a bit hesitant when I heard this song in the album teaser because I though it would sound to much like generic pop. But I'm pleasantly surprised! It's very much in the genre of music I listen to, pop rock!! I also felt a Day6 influence, whether or not they actually intended it. This song is wacky and very fun. It gets you ready to party! It's a great start to the album!

Hair Cut

I listen to this from their comeback show case. Unfortunately I did not write down my first thoughts. But here's my review on it:

Definitely leans more to the rock genre but honestly I didn't like it as much as I'd hoped. The bridge was beautiful—the best part in my opinion. I wouldn't be surprised to hear if this song was made with Hello, world! mini album. It has those HW! elements in there. I do like the song but its not the one I'd listen to the most. Score out of ten? 7/10

LUNATIC

As I queue this one, I wanna say that I really like how XH explained this song. It sounded like they really had fun making this track. Here go my stream of thoughts!

Interesting. Beginning notes remind me of a "spooky" song. AHH I wasn't expecting that scream LMAO. low-key scared me. oh okay starting with gaon! I'm enjoying the guitar. oh going slower. building up for the chorus? im still hearing the "spooky" sound lol. Oh! oh! bass drop??? YESSS!!! I'm just keeping it right~! this part really reminds me of the band All Time Low, maybe their For Baltimore song? No, but definitely something off of that album, Don't Panic (btw i really recommend to listen to this album if you haven't. its my favorite ATL one) WOW very emotional bridge! The ending was too abrupt! I expected more! I'm too greedy lol

I think this is my favorite song off of the album. It's just reminiscent of many rock (read emo) bands I used to listen to. After a few more listens, I don't think its very spooky but it's a song I'd listen to when I'd want to feel badass lol. There's just something about this song that really gets me excited.

Crack in the mirror

LMAO the beginning guitar sound reminded me of the Knight Rider theme song. OH OKAY EXCUSE ME I FEEL ATTACKED. MR LEE YOUR VOICE IS GREAT. GIVE MORE LINES TO JUN HAN HE SOUNDS AMAZING (or is that gaon?? either way damn) okaayyyyy giving some bad boy energy i see yall. AHHHH THE GUITAR REMINDS ME OF BMTH ahhhhh i live for this harder rock!!! GAON YOUR ENGLISH IS SO GOOD i melt every time i hear this man sing in english. he has a good deep voice that is just chefs kiss rewinded just to hear that part again and his voice reminded me of Andy Black. ode also has very fluent intonations in his english. if i didnt know anything about this kband I would have thought that gaon and ode would be the english speakers. OMG THE BRIDGE THESE DUDES REALLY KNOW HOW TO MAKE THEM

Another song where i feel badass! This one was hard for me to compare with the rest. I really loved the way it sounded. It goes hard. The vocals in this one are just amazing. I think this one would be one of the songs I would recommend to people that aren't really into Kpop but are willing to give it a try.

Ghost

ANOTHER SPOOKY VIBES ONE. this time its more like scary clown. IM TELLING YOU GAON'S ENGLISH IS HEAVEN. this whistle part has been stuck in my head this WHOLE DAY (since i saw the showcase. the whistle is ADDICTING. i really like the chorus. ode!! i love hearing him rap. THIS SECOND PRECHORUS DAMN. IM BROKEN~! *whistle*

Actual review: 10/10

Ah I don't even know how to properly put this one into words. It's GOOD! There's a tad bit of aggressiveness in this song with a bit of desperation??? Like I said I'm not sure how to explain it. (I'm looking for the translation of the lyrics maybe that will help me) Okay so it seems that I got the interpretation right. I can think of it like a tragic love where the lover dies or the narrator cuts them out because of their toxicity (i'm leaning toward the latter). Anyways it's a very beautiful song. The whistle is what pulls me in with the "i'm broken~" lyrics. It's paired beautifully.

X-MAS

LAST ONE!!! i'm not ready for this album to end. i'm having fun listening.

OKAY I WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT. UMMMM GAON????? theres a reason this man is my bias wrecker. SPOOKY VIBES IM TELLING YOU oh oh this chorus!!! the prechorus!!! the bass in the second verse!!!!! vibing with this song. JOOYEON THAT BRIDGE WITH JUNGSU. i mean they are the main vocalists for a reason

Actual Review: 8/10

Ah the song where Jungsu said he wanted to play on Christmas. I think it's too creppy to that but it still sounds sort of Christmas-y? This is one of those songs that I don't really know how to feel about it. I guess it kinda has one of those vibes like the Nightmare Before Christmas. It's a "spooky" song but also not at the same time??? It's a good song but idk if I'd rate it top 3.

Overall Thoughts and Ranking:

I really enjoyed this album way more than Hello, world! Their progress from that album to this one is really astonishing. I really did enjoy this album and I've been listening to it on repeat. With that being said, this was a very hard album to rank it tracks mainly because I really got into it after listening them on repeat. It's a solid album. The first track really gets you pumped for the rest of the album that just blows you away. Most of the tracks are really on the same level as each other but if I had to put them into a list of which I liked the best on the first listen it would be this:

Word of Honor eps 21-30 (thoughts)

So, instead of doing a general opinion (that is sure to get messy because my brain is trying to keep up with so many things these days lol) I decided to write down just a few thoughts on each ep. It worked great to remind me what had happened in these past 10 eps. Enjoy my random thoughts!

Ep 21: YeBaiYi is off to fetch someone who can save ZZS. The family has reunited!!! Also, poor WKX he seems very torn but also doesn't exactly know what's up? Scorpion King is trying something but I don't get it. Also, poor beauty Ghost.

Ep 22: well that should be illegal, it was so painful to see WKX that tortured. Dude practically had an attack because his past is so damn traumatic. btw ZZS must know WKX is the Ghost Valley leader, right? Also, that beggar was totally going to kill someone, he had a knife, so back off, CWN. I like you a lot but not at the expense of my badass A-Xiang. i appreciated the abs 😏🤤

Ep 23: WKX is a cranky bish after waking up from trauma induced faintness lol but ZZS can calm him down in a second. Also, he totally knows WKX is ghost valley leader, which had to be obvious but I still wonder what gave him away. Awww A-Xiang being worried of not being worthy for CWN broke my heart. You're the best and a badass my girl. We had father in law WKX and it was the best. Also, ZZS losing his senses is so tragic. Why was this ep so sad?

Ep 24: Such a bittersweet ep. If there's no WKX trauma time, it's ZZS's instead. Also, gay domestic life is the best kind of fluff I can ask for. Just say yes, WKX and be the master of Four Seasons alongside your soulmate. Also, what is truly the origin of ZZS? He has noble blood? Who is he? In the novel it was never clear to me, but I'm expecting some answers here.

Ep 25: WKX'S angsty monologue in front of his once upon a time Master’s grave will live in my mind rent free from now on. Finally we know how WKX figured out who ZZS was, but I still don't get how/why WKX and his family were left behind in Four Seasons, I mean I guess it’s because they thought they were already safe. I can't believe everyone and their mothers know that WKX is the leader of Ghost Valley. I don't think I like this change from the novel 🤭 it was such a powerful reveal because no one had any idea. Now all of China knows lol

Ep 26: Wow Zhao Jing is such a sick bastard, but what's new? His scenes with Scorpion King were creepy ans sick lol i kinda pity him. Awww WKX you really have no plans for this, do you? He is taking such care to do everything quietly so ZZS and Chengling don't find out and ZZS is worried for him because he knows everything. Such fools in love. When it's Lord Seventh coming??

Ep 27: Omggg this episode was a delight to see for my shipper heart, if only everything could end here, AhXiang and CWN happy in his sect, OTP and their son in Four Seasons and just forget about all the chaos outside in the world. But no, drama is coming and ZZS still has to be cured. Also, Scorpion my man, wake the hell up, that evil old bastard is manipulating you and you're just letting him ugh

Ep 28: Finally the Prince appears and lol it looks Like Zhao Jing is going nuts, it was hilarious to see the ruckus he made in front of the memorial of all his dead friends. I wonder if this means he still has some conscience...I laughed so many times this ep because of the contrast between the evil dudes and their conspiracies to get the Glazed armour vs the domestic fluff of the two gay dads and their adoptive child celebrating the new year hahaha

Ep 29: Ooofff what an episode! I loved it! So many things happened! Poor WKX being so tortured and guilty for the the death of Han Ying, it was so sad but tragedy didn't stop there, since they took ZZS away. Finally Lord Seventh and his wizard bf made it lol just in time to knock out WKX who was having an ep of madness, though I'm sure he will still be angry when he wakes up and will try to kill Zhao Jing again (one can only hope). I can't believe CWN found out about WKX being the Ghost Master that way, but it speaks volumes of his feelings for AhXiang that he didn't reveal her identity in that moment.

Ep 30: What a disgusting piece of shit is the Prince, it unsettled me so much that he kidnapped ZZS and dressed him up like his plaything and then threw around the "I thought we were soulmates" argument. Eww. no, sir, please go away. At least it looks like ZZS got a little revenge against him. Not enough of WKX this ep, but I hope next is better on that department along with Lord Seventh and his wizard bf. I'm happy A-Xiang and CWN moved past the whole revelation of her identity, their love is so pure. Also, Scorpion my dude, rebel and kill your sugar daddy he's goddamn awful.

I liked that the focus of these ten eps (concerning our two male leads' portion of the story) was on their pasts, who they were before meeting each other and their regrets and traumas about it, but also, that they became close by being honest and vulnerable with each other, and now they practically have no secrets between the two of them (or do they? Looking at ya, WKX). Seeing their tranquil and sweet domestic life with their adopted son at the Four Seasons was a delight (it was also one of my favorite bits to read in the novel and I'm so glad they kept it for the drama a pity they couldn't include the hugs and cuddles on the bed at midnight but in my mind they happened) but all good things must come to an end someday and I guess that, given that the whole martial arts world is looking for WKX and that ZZS could only get so far before the crazy Prince found him (on top of him slowly dying by the nails) it was only a matter of time before things escalated and got to where they are. Now we have to believe love conquers all hahaha and I cannot wait to see WKX rescuing his husband in all his dark ala Master of the Ghost Valley gloriousness!

I would love to write an essay on A-Xiang and CWN love story and how pure and true their bond is, but because I know their ending that would only mean torture for me, so I will only say that I'm so glad that they're together and able to talk to each other and clear misunderstandings. Communication is key for any healthy and long lasting relationship.

Drama plot was always a bit different from novel plot, but at this point in the drama they're telling a completely different story so I have no idea what's next (well, I do, I know spoilers but I also need the context) but I'm excited nonetheless. I would say though I have no idea who really has the glazed armour and who has fake pieces, damn you Wen KeXing lol I'm just so confused but it doesn't really matter because as long as they don't have the key, it's all useless. And I do know who has the key and where it's gonna end up (or with whom 😏 hahaha). I'm actually a bit sad that I know that spoiler, could have been great to be surprised as I watched the drama but that's on me lol

Because I've been following the drama on Youku's youtube channel, this experience has been longer for me than it was for lots of others, and I liked that but because of it the withdrawal syndrome will hit me a lot harder. Ugh and I'm not looking forward to it.

Rise of Skywalker, a movie I genuinely loved!

Ok so I've had almost a full day to think about my thoughts on Rise of Skywalker. Right from leaving the cinema, I knew that I loved this movie! Sure it had it's flaws but every single Star Wars movie does and I like to think the positives outweigh them. It had amazing cinematography, the adventure was there, and all the emotions that come with Star Wars.

SPOILERS AHEAD

I think first I'll talk about the flaws because I love ending things on a cheery note. First, Rose Tico was pushed to the sidelines and I wish we got to see more of her character arc. I think after seeing the backlash some fans had for Rose, JJ was afraid to have her in the spotlight. She could've done more. I would've liked to see her interact more with Finn even platonically. And interact with Rey.

Second, I'm a huge Anakin Skywalker fan so part of me feels like they disrespected his arc in this movie with Palpatine being back. I kinda felt like it was all for nothing. But then I did see some other reviews that said he brought balance for a long time, but balance isn't permanent. So that post brought me some peace on that, thanks to who wrote it (I can't remember who, sorry!).

Third, Ben Solo's death. So I'm not sure if I just hate it because I loved his character or if it really wasn't a good decision. Star Wars stuck to their algorithm of redeeming the villain but to only kill him seconds later. We already saw this with Anakin. Did we have to see it again? Then again it was really meaningful that he sacrificed himself for Rey. Maybe he's still alive somewhere, idk I'm in denial still.

Ok so now onto things I liked/loved which is a lot, but I'm not good with reviews so I might not name all!

First I must say that I loved Rey and Ben's relationship and chemistry. There isn't too much dialogue, but you can see how much they care for one another through expressions. Props to Adam Driver for conveying so much in just looks and actions. The way he looked when he found Rey's dead body was so heartbreaking. He looked so vulnerable.

Also the way Rey was so relieved to see Ben after he brought her back. She smiled like he was this bright light. And oh my, my heart fluttered when they kissed. It's probably just me being the huge romantic that I am, but that was one of my favorite parts. From the beginning they had a strong emotional connection. In TLJ we can see how strongly they feel for one another. Ben wants her to be by his side constantly and really opens up to her. Rey does the same. She let's her self open up about her past and desire to belong somewhere/someone to Ben. In my mind, the buildup was there. It saddens me that it had to be a tragic romance, but Star Wars always has that tragedy. Ben also showed that hope leads somewhere. Rey held onto hope that he would return to the light and he did. He was at peace when he died.

Second thing I loved was the trio of Rey, Finn, and Poe in this movie! We have been waiting to see them all in action together since TFA. And JJ did not disappoint. The banter between the three flowed nicely and was comedic. It felt like a family. It was also so nice to see Rey interacting with Poe! You can tell they have spent a lot of time with each other. For those who think Rey is alone, she has these two guys for her family.💛

The scene where all the ships showed up last minute gave me Endgame vibes and I loved it. Especially when the main theme started.

The entire be with me scene in the throne room was chilling and awestrucking! (wow that first part of that sentence just threw back to GoT😨) When Rey looks up into the sky and the lightning fades to the calm and serene stars I too felt so relaxed. The soft music was so lovely, John Williams never fails. Hearing the jedi voices was what had me smiling like an idiot, especially hearing Anakin's voice saying "Bring balance as I once did". (I guess that's proving that his arc wasn't completely ruined). I would've loved to see Hayden Christensen, but I appreciate that we got to hear his voice.

Was anyone else so surprised to see Han even as a memory? It's not even that I was surprised because of how it goes into the plot, because it makes perfect sense for Ben to look back and remember his last interaction with his father. His father would be the key in him returning to the light. It just surprised me because I did not expect Harrison Ford to show up on set of Star Wars ever again😂. It was a very nice and welcome surprise though. From the moment he killed Han, you could tell Ben felt regret and remorse. I also loved that Leia reached out to her son one last time, showing Ben that his family has not given up on him.

LEIA! It was so awesome to see her training as a jedi with a lightsaber! That flashback gave me so many chills. I loved how Leia continued to train Rey even though she knew she was related to Palpatine. It shows that Leia doesn't judge someone based off blood. Leia loved Rey and had faith in her. People can't help where they came from.

It was so sad to see Leia die but we all know it was going to happen. Chewie's reaction was so emotional and made me shed a tear. The galaxy will remember Princess Leia and Carrie Fisher forever.❤

The Ending

Overall, I loved the ending. Sure I'm still devastated that Ben is dead, but looking at the big picture it was good/satisfying.

People are saying that Rey didn't grieve Ben and she moved on too quick. I think she knows that he will always be with her because no one's ever really gone. He is one with the force. (Ngl, part of me likes to believe he is alive out there somewhere or waiting to come back).

Also as I said before Rey still has people she loves! Finn and Poe are still alive and there for her.

This is just the way I saw it, but I don't think Rey plans to stay on Tatooine very long/permanently. Rey didn't start and end the same way. She has a family now (Poe and Finn) and knows who she is. I think she went there to pay respect to the Skywalker family, it is where it all started with Shmi and her son, Anakin. She buried the lightsabers because they are no longer needed (her new lightsaber is beautiful btw) And don't hate me, but I don't mind her calling herself Rey Skywalker. She felt a deep connection to the family and both Luke and Leia took her under their wing. She doesn't care for/need the name Palpatine. It's not who she is. Which brings me to people being mad that Rey wasn't a nobody. I respect their reasons and everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but I don't think it hurt her character arc. Rey being related to the worst Star Wars villain and still not falling to his dark ways shows how strong she is! She defeated him and brought balance once again to the galaxy despite being his blood.

The ending shot was beautiful and was a perfect way to end the Skywalker saga. The binary sunset and theme was ethereal. It's how the movies started and it's how it ended.

Star Wars is tragic, romantic, and hopeful. This movie showed all of those things. We lost Ben but he felt love again with Rey. Hope was restored with him turning back to the light and Rey defying expectations of a Palpatine. Personally, I loved this movie so much and it did not let me down.

First and foremost I would like to thank you for liking my content enough to actually follow, let alone having me reach 100 followers. There’s a new category this year. Inspired by kpopalypse, welcome the Honorable Mentions! Movies that weren’t exactly bad but also weren’t good. Movies and dramas are qualified to enter if I watched them for the first time this year, not that they were released this year. Click on ‘keep reading’~~

Best Movies:

1. Parasite

Another masterpiece from the director of Snowpiercer (let’s pretend Okja never existed). A poor family con their way to a rich household. Choi Woo-Shik from The Witch (see below) is the eldest son and mastermind, fabulous as always. Definitely the best movie of this year. For me, movie of the decade.

2. The Witch Part 1 The Subversion

This movie is amazing, hard to describe without spoilers. A perfect mix of Stranger Things and Hanna. Choi Woo-Shik can come to my house and kick my ass anytime. I can’t wait for part two.

3. Death Trance

Visually stunning, kinda like Amemiya Keita’s style in early Garo or Mad Max. I wish the movie was longer and the characters were better fleshed out, Ryuen the monk and the little girl had so much potential... The most interesting thing about this movie is how sexualized the main male character is compared to the female ones, and apparently, the swords were designed to look like veiny penises (can’t find a source for this info), and yes, they do look like veiny penises. The final showdown is heavy with sexual energy. Have I already said that Ryuen deserved better? #RyuenRights

4. Gintama 2: Rules are made to be broken

The barber shop scene is a fucking cinematic masterpiece. I never laughed so much like I did with this movie. The way it doesn’t take itself seriously, the meta jokes, everything is perfect. Even better than the first one.

5. Kingdom

While I think that some fight scenes were way too long (like the bamboo forest one), the dynamics between Shin and Hyou/Eisei were highly entertaining, at least in my shipper eyes. I like that (SPOILER) the King of the Mountain People is a woman and not once they try to call her Queen. She is a King. Hashimoto Kanna is adorable as a Ten, Kanata Hongo does a great job as Eisei’s psycho brother, Sakaguchi Tak waves his sword around, the usual stuff but with added layers of dirt and sweat.

6. Bravestorm

A movie I lovingly call “Japanese Pacific Rim”. Full of Kamen Rider stars (Hino Eiji! Misuzawa Haruka! That girl from Heisei Generations, the one with a sword! She has a sword in this as well!) and giant robots (god, I love giant robots!), I waited so much for this movie and it exceeded my expectations. I just wish I could’ve watched in theaters, it had a limited showing in my country.

7. Twelve Suicidal Children

What begins as a murder mystery ends with a twist you won’t see coming. All of the actors are amazing, but special mention to Sugisaki Hana and that guy from that one boy group I forgot the name but can’t be bothered to Google.

8. Gakkou Gurashi

Four girls and their teacher try to survive the zombie apocalypse trapped inside the school. This one destroyed me for days.

9. Forest of Love

I’ve watched some Sono Sion movies but nothing prepared me for this. Be aware of extremely gory sequences and sensitive topics. Hinami Kyoko is so amazing as blue-haired, punk girl crush Taeko that I totally didn’t notice she was AkibaBlue in Akibaranger.

10. The Host

After watching Parasite I decided to go on a Bong Joon Ho binge and watched this horror movie. Not as good as Snowpiercer and Parasite in my opinion but heart-wrenching nevertheless. The little girl is the star of the movie.

11. The Hungry Lion

A story about the dangers of social media and slut-shaming. I want to punch Mizuishi Atom in the face.

12. Cromartie High

A little absurd comedy about yakuza-style high school boys (played by middle-aged men lol) forming a club to battle aliens summoned by themselves just because. It made me laugh like a child. A hidden gem.

Honorable Mentions:

1. River’s Edge

Depressing as fuck. Warning: the cats die. It’s not graphic but it’s traumatizing. Yoshizawa Ryo is a gay boy who sleeps with old men for money. There’s a graphic sex scene (not Yoshizawa, sadly) where my only thought was “That thing is gonna get stuck in there! Use a condom!” Can’t remember much from it except for these three scenes.

2. The Disastrous Life of Saiki K

Yamazaki Kento has the acting chops of a dead fish but it comes handy for playing a teen with psychic abilities and zero social skills. Hashimoto Kanna is one of the prettiest girls in Japan. Yoshizawa Ryo with white and blueish hair looks more like Sakata Gintoki than Oguri Shun in the Gintama live action. The end is a huge let down but the fun ride is worth it.

3. Ano ko no, Toriko

Congratulations to Yoshizawa Ryo, he has FIVE movies in my list of favorite movies this year! This is to make up for crowning GIVER as the biggest waste of time of 2018, this list is totally not biased, lol. “Ano ko” could be just another romance movie but the (very) little insight into how the entertainment industry works and not focusing on school life made me love it. Poor Sugino Yosuke being left behind again, when will this boy get the main girl?

4. Monstrum

It doesn’t reinvent the wheel but it’s pleasant enough to fill a rainy afternoon with a lot of blood and spilled guts. Hyeri of Girl’s Day is the heroine and Choi Woo Shik is the commander she falls in love with.

5. Weirdo Go

I confess I watched this one just to see Ji Li (aka my snake son Nie Huaisang) dressed as a woman but it was enjoyable and not that problematic.

6. Real - Kanzen Naru Kubinagaryu no Hi

Directed by the same guy that did “Creepy” and “Before we vanish”, there are lots of twists you won’t see coming. And a dinosaur. A fucking dinosaur.

7. Tomodachi Game: The Final

The movie loses its focus halfway through then picks up again minutes before ending. Yoshizawa Ryo delivers again as the sadistic Yuuichi, much like his role in Gintama. The plot twists are the star of the movie.

8. The Living Dead

Sorry Wen Ning. I saw the plot twist coming in the first 30 minutes of the movie, not very smart of the writer. His personality did a 180° turn for worse and I’ll demote the movie to an honorable mention for it. Gao Han is cute though, I would like to see him as a better character.

9. Backstreet Girls

Some recycled scenes from the drama to situate the viewers, a completely new story for the movie, it is certainly funny and enjoyable, if you can get past the forced gender reassignment surgery background and transphobic jokes (you shouldn’t get past it btw). I like the soundtrack.

Best Dramas:

1. The Untamed

Do I need to say more?

2. The Tale of Nokdu

This Korean romance had everything to be a mess but it wasn’t!!! *claps* I don’t hate the main female character and the whole palace politics actually kept me interested until the end. The complete shift of atmosphere mid-season was strange at first but ultimately very welcomed.

3. The Naked Director

Netflix original Japanese content is amazing. This one is a look at the life of a legendary porn director in the late 80s, I learned a lot about the history of Japanese porn and censorship (yay pixels!) and went looking for his, erm, works. Very graphic, 69/10 don’t recommend watching with people in the house.

4. Channel wa Sonomama!

I don’t remember it well but it’s about a news station and what is like to be a journalist and it was very interesting and funny.

5. SCAMS

Forgettable. Sugino Yosuke with black hair cons old people via phone calls.

Worst Movies and Dramas:

1. The cat in their arms

The cats spend 90% of the movie in human forms, and halfway through it they simply abandon the cats’ plot to show a fucking long montage of a weird guy painting a picture of a nude girl. It’s also super creepy to see a grown-up man acting like a cat, getting belly rubs and eating cat food from a bowl. Yoshizawa needs to choose his roles more wisely.

2. Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun

A waste of Suda Masaki’s talent. Can Japan stop casting Tsuchiya Tao already?

3. Samurai Marathon

Almost two hours of dirty men running through a forest. Maybe Japanese History experts will enjoy it, because I certainly didn’t.

4. Lady Vengeance

While there are legit great moments, I didn’t find this “classic” to be anything special. The animal cruelty was too much for me.

5. Hot Gimmick

This movie makes Bohemian Rhapsody’s editing look like a work of art. There are more flashing cuts than a T-ARA music video. I have no idea who likes who, who’s banging who, what even are they saying. Too much poetic shit for my like. I wanted to see Shimizu Hiroya naked. I was bamboozled.

6. The Divine Fury

While some parts were interesting, at the end I still don’t know if the protagonist is possessed by a demon (if yes, then why would he help a priest destroy his friends?) or if he was blessed by God when his father died and talked to him (the glowing hand thing, why and how??). The exorcism parts are really, really scary, or maybe I’m just a chicken, but I had to avert my eyes. The best (only) part is that the protagonists are hot. Hello Woo Do-Hwan, you can sacrifice me to Satan any time…

Thank you for the kind words, I’m glad you’re enjoying the blog. ♥ Recommendations for EU stuff often depends on what you’re interested in, because there are a lot of books I really enjoyed, so I’ll organize them by era, since that’s how fans are often divided. I’ll also include comics, because often times the comics are some of the absolute best stuff!If you haven’t watched The Clone Wars and Rebels yet, those are absolutely the places to start as they’re key to the fabric of the bigger story, imo. Not that you can’t understand the movies without them or anything, but TCW is especially important for understanding just how grueling the clone wars really were. And Rebels is important for showing the fates of a lot of the TCW characters and seeing the Empire vs the Rebellion (it does a lot to flesh that out, too).PREQUELS:

Any of the Star Wars Adventures comics that contain the prequels characters are great. Well, ALL of the Adventures comics are great, but the prequels ones are adorable, funny, and yet really well-told. They’re light-hearted and largely oneshots, but the IDW comics have been incredible for still being some of the absolute best SW content out there. Especially a not-miss is #12-13 and the 2019 Annual for the Padme&Leia&Breha story.

Obi-Wan & Anakin comic by Charles Soule. A five-issue mini series that has the most stunning art of all the comics I’ve ever seen pretty much, it’s also a really good look at the time of Anakin’s apprenticeship and provides some interesting glimpses into their early days together.

Darth Vader: Dark Lord of the Sith comic by Charles Soule. This comic was an absolute phenomenon to read month to month and one of the comic series that I’ve spent the most time analyzing and felt it’s really held up to scrutiny, which shows just how much thought went into it. It’s 25 issues of Vader fresh off Revenge of the Sith, over the span of a couple years, and really does an AMAZING job of exploring Anakin Skywalker as Darth Vader, all the choices he made and the themes of the comic are all about showing he can’t admit to the HUGE mistakes he’s made. It was incredible.

Choose Your Destiny: An Obi-Wan & Anakin Adventure by book Cavan Scott. I’m not usually a fan of Choose Your Own Adventure style stories, but this one was worth it to me to get an absolutely DELIGHTFUL book with Obi-Wan and Anakin, who are cranky with each other, but ultimately show that they can come back together and obviously care about each other. Sprinkle in some other cool stuff (Jedi details, Bant Eerin being recanonized) and it was lovely.

Dooku: Jedi Lost audiodrama by Cavan Scott. If you’re interested in Dooku, Asajj Ventress, or the Jedi at all, this drama was pretty amazing, it gave a ton of worldbuilding detail, but also did a lot to fill in the backstory of Dooku and gave us a long look inside Asajj’s head as well. Qui-Gon makes some appearances, he has an amazing dynamic with Dooku, and my heart as always skips a beat for how much I love the Jedi.

Age of the Republic comics by Jodie Houser. Holy shit, these comics were SO GOOD. They’re a series of oneshots about the various heroes and villains of the time, a glimpse into the lives of all of them, and Houser really nailed it here. My favorite is the Obi-Wan one, because the conversation he has with Anakin about Qui-Gon is a must and delves deepest into the characters’ stuff, but all of them are worth reading.

Jedi of the Republic - Mace Windu comic by Matt Owens. A five-issue mini series that, okay, the art is Like That but the storyline really worked for me because it’s a really good look at Mace’s character and his belief in the Jedi Order and how he came to master himself and how the galaxy looks at Jedi. It’s woven around a fairly typical action plot, but one of the things that always strikes me is the compassion the Jedi show one of their own, even when they’re falling into darkness, as well as this is a comic about Mace Windu’s faith and his work to master himself and it’s SO GOOD.

Kanan: The Last Padawan comics by Greg Weisman. Stunning art plus a look at some of the characters/relationships that I want so much more of (TELL ME EVERYTHING ABOUT DEPA BILLABA) and more glimpses into life at the Jedi Temple, as well as telling the story of how the character went from Caleb Dume to Kanan Jarrus, all of it heartbreaking and so, so good.

While the Revenge of the Sith novelization by Matthew Stover is no longer canon, but it does an absolutely phenomenal job of breaking your heart all over again for the characters and expanding on everything that was going on during that time and really, really gets into the headspace of Anakin’s character in a way that was line-edited by George Lucas himself, so I think of it as having a lot of emotional truths to it, rather than being part of canon (which it’s specifically said as not being).

ORIGINALS:

The ongoing Star Wars comic (by Jason Aaron, then Kieron Gillen) + the original Darth Vader comic (by Kieron Gillen) are the absolute best place to start, they’re an incredible addition to the characters’ journeys between ANH and ESB. The two comics are meant to be read concurrently, so I recommend them together, they often show the same scenes from different points of view, but you can roll with either of them if they’re going well for you. They’re my favorite for what they add to the story.

Star Wars Battlefront II’s storyline can be watched on YouTube like a movie, which is about two hours long, has some fantastic characters (Iden Versio and Del Meeko are amazing, but also the brief storylines the OT trio have in the game are fantastic) and it does a really great job of helping to bridge the gap between the OT and the ST, explaining a lot about Jakku’s significance and how the First Order popped up.

From a Certain Point of View novel by various. MY FAVORITE BOOK IN THE EU, FULL STOP. A series of point of view stories from various supporting characters during A New Hope is exactly what it sounds like and, okay, not all of them worked out for me, some of them are very skippable if you’re not enjoying it, but the Obi-Wan one, the Qui-Gon one, and the Yoda one are all must-reads because they are HEARTBREAKING and fill in so much of what’s going on with those characters in the OT with regards to the PT events. Also the Motti one is the single funniest thing Star Wars has ever put out.

Lords of the Sith novel by Paul S. Kemp. While I’ve only read about a third of this one so far, I’ve enjoyed it a lot, as it’s a look at some of the worst parts of SW’s timeline, where Vader and Palpatine are at their worst, where Ryloth is suffering, but it’s done with deftness and gravitas, imo. Possibly better after you’ve seen TCW and Rebels because Cham Syndulla’s character will have more weight then.

Legends of Luke Skywalker novel by Ken Liu. This book came out around the time that The Last Jedi came out (or at least that’s when I read it, iirc) and it was a balm for my soul that needed Jedi Master Luke Skywalker. It’s an in-universe series of myths, so it’s not literal, it’s stories told about Luke Skywalker as he travels the galaxy trying to understand the Force and the Jedi. It’s lovely!

Thrawn novel by Timothy Zahn. I still think the first Thrawn book was really good (even if the shine came off the apple after that) and it does a fantastic job of setting up the character’s backstory, intro into the Empire, and creating the character of Eli Vanto, WHOM I LOVE. It’s a great read and some of the best of Zahn’s Thrawn work.

ROGUE ONE + SOLO:

The Rogue One novelization by Alexander Freed. I had trouble connecting to Jyn Erso when I first watched the movie, but the way Freed wrote her as this messy, complicated, thorny person who was trying to do the right thing was perfect for making me fall in love with her. (Freed is really, really good at writing messy, complicated, worthwhile women, imo.)

Most Wanted novel by Rae Carson. I loved this book a lot, where it’s a young adult novel set before the events of Solo and helps tell Han and Qi’ra’s backstory and is a great space adventure at the same time.

Catalyst novel by James Luceno. This does a really great job of bridging the Republic era with the Empire era, how the galaxy went from the Clone Wars to what we see in Rogue One, AND expanded a ton on Galen Erso’s character, his relationship with Orson Krennic and Lyra Erso and Jyn, so it made the R1 experience just a ton more valuable for me.

SEQUELS:

Bloodline novel by Claudia Gray. This book still does the absolute most to bridge the gap between the OT and the ST, to explain the events of what happened in that time period. Gray’s writing is best when she’s writing Leia as a character and this book works as a novel for her and as a story about the rise of the First Order and some of the problems of the New Republic.

Spark of the Resistance is a young adult novel (so about 200 pages) by Justina Ireland. I only recently read this one and I just thoroughly enjoyed it, it was Rey and Rose and Poe off on their own adventure, which was typical cute Star Wars stuff, but the chemistry and adorable banter between these three was so good I could have read an entire series for them! (I also liked her Lando’s Luck YA novel, if you’re interested in his character.)

Poe Dameron comics by Charles Soule. Soule’s writing is some of the best stuff in SW so far and he does an absolutely phenomenal job of capturing the charisma of Poe’s character, while also giving him an actual character arc to work through. The comics just fly by, they’re so good and so smoothly easy to read and so damn charming.

Cobalt Squadron novel by Elizabeth Wein. If you get the audiobook of this, it’s narrated by Kelly Marie Tran, who does a love job of reading it, and was a book that helped me just utterly FALL IN LOVE with Rose Tico. It’s a book that does a lot to explain her back story and who she is and it’s just absolutely wonderful.

The Last Jedi novelization by Jason Fry. If you really, really hated TLJ, this might not be the book for you, but I found it to be a book that helped fill in some smaller details that made the movie work better for me and got inside the characters’ heads just enough to help grease the wheels to put me in a better place with the movie, so I always really like it.

Have you ever had secondary lead syndrome? Being new in the kdrama fandom thats one thing i was absolutely not ready for. I have never experienced it before and believe me i have watched tv in every language possible. Secondary leads or the third person in the triangle is always easy to hate or easy to not ship with the main girl. But with kdramas they are so amazing they make me root for them.

I am the poster child for canon shipping, in kdramas or elsewhere. For me to get SLS (and I am not counting something like The King Loves, where the second lead was always intended to get the girl as in the novel or Boys Over Flowers where by the end I wanted heroine with both depending on the scene, but a genuine SLS), something must have gone seriously haywire in either writing or acting (or I suppose the trope book.)

It’s probably not surprising that out of the few times I shipped the lead with the second lead, a lot of the times it was such a widespread phenomenon the makers actually changed canon:

East of Eden - our hero, played by Song Seung Hun, was supposed to eventually end up with classy Lee Da Hae, and his romance with the mob daughter Grace was going to be a short little sideline. Only they had a few too many scenes and insane chemistry long before the supposed main couple even met and a LOT of fans jumped ship. Apparently, the male lead did also, because guess who ended up being his permanent true love? They are still one of my all time favorite OTPs, btw.

Empress Ki - ooooh boy. Clearly, Ha Ji Won’s heroine was supposed to end up with the noble Korean king played by Joo Jin Mo (in terms of endgame, not happy ending), and not the intense wreck of a Chinese emperor played by Ji Chang Wook. Promos, billing, posters, the fact that it’s a freaking Korean drama, etc. I (and the fandom in general) went insane for Team Emperor and that chemistry and dysfunction was out of this world. Yup, he’s the one who ended up being her true love, even if they were one of the most messed up OTPs out there.

Queen Seon Duk - noble boring Yushin was supposed to be the heroine’s love and then Kim Nam Gil as unstable Bidam appeared and stole everyone’s hearts, mine included and guess what the epic love ended up being. It didn’t help that the usually reliable Uhm Tae Woong was a piece of wood in that drama and KNG was on fire. Best ending ever even if tragic.

Spring Days - heroine was supposed to end up with older brother who cured her but instead ended up with the younger brother which made me mega happy. But then you don’t hire Jo In Sung and expect anyone to root for anyone else. He’s one of those actors who, even before he was a big star, really should have never played a secondary guy for he’d steal the show.

Two Park Shi Hoo dramas - How to Meet a Perfect Neighbor and Queen of Reversals. Whatever his behavior in real life, on screen PSH is basically a chemistry beast and I will always ship him with the heroine, whatever else is going on. So back when he was doing secondary roles, I shipped him with female leads in both of these and got my wish. He got the girl both times!

(Btw, don’t know if you noticed, but out of the above, except for Neighbor, all of them are longer dramas; it gives the writers time and chance to fix things.)

There have only been a couple of dramas where I’ve been driven to uncanon ship and it didn’t end up being the case because, once again, for that to happen means there are other issues. And they are:

Iljimae. Because Park Shi Hoo. That is the only time I didn’t ship Lee Junki with the leading lady or at least I was fine with them as an otp but preferred her with PSH.

Dream High and Bad Guy - both of those are partially result of my love for abused/mistreated sweetheart with awful family finding joy in plucky female lead tropes. With BG, it was in addition because Han Ga In had better chemistry with Kim Jae Wook than Kim Nam Girl and because I thought their scenes were on fire. With DH, frankly it’s because Sam Bong annoyed me and if I had to pick between sweet bumpkin or intense fuck-up in terms of fictional dudes, you know who I’d go to (FWIW, I am firmly convinced that the way the early eps were set up, my OTP was supposed to be the canon one, but then Kim Soo Hyun and his character took off like a storm and they switched.)

Seeing that I have been watching kdramas for 13 years, the above is a pretty tiny list though, because as I said, I am a canon worshipper pretty much.

As I said, I wanted my review to be full and for your eyes only. But... Okey. Never mind. Since The Devil skates on thin ice is officially over, I think I’m ready to write my little review. Not so little tbh. 🤣 (1)

First of all, I wanna say that your style of writing is really stands out of all fic writers because of alikeness with literature. I mean it’s really classy and reminds me of all books that I’ve read not only in English but in my mother language. Full of this beautiful descriptions, metaphors and other stylistic things. (2)

Every time I read stories written by you I found something new to me.Like new words or phrases.And at the same time I can find so many common grounds.I can’t stop wondering,my mother language and English are so alike.It’s like I finally can believe that all languages were one language back then.“Anyway,prepare yourself;this is going to get long, and it’s strewn with angst.”-I think this phrase could be used as description for the whole story. U almost made me cry by the end. (3)

The plot isn’t so unique. I mean, lots of authors write stories from lovers to enemies and back. But I love your choice of AU. Everybody usually choose basketball for Yoongi. And I enjoyed that u somehow choose my cup of tea. I’m in love with ice. I’m not rly into winter but ice is definitely my thing. (4)

[I cut out a few parts here just because this was going to be too long! But the story about you and your friend was really sweet; I’m glad you had someone like them by your side during that time!]

Min Yoongi. To be honest if I saw this guy in flesh, I mean your Yoongi, I would definitely fall for him completely. He has almost everything that I like in man. Confident, strong, with right thoughts, loyal, able to wait till right moment, passionate, man of an action first of all. I see real life Yoongi this kind of man as well but... He isn’t suitable for an ice hockey. Too thin and short. It isn’t stop me from likening him anyway. (8)

Lead fem. It’s definitely me. Like almost 100%. I use phrase “keyword ....” like a lot. It’s one of my favorite. And another thing that makes us so alike - our love for ice and figure skating. I was and I’m still madly in love with this sport. And we both came through trauma. But I can’t fully recover from it emotionally. I’m still afraid of doing some tricks. Specially Lutz and Axel. (9)

She is stronger than me. And I can say that jumps are one of the hardest things in figure skating besides spins. You need to put a lot of effort to make it beautiful and right. Like u have to be fast and jump really high to make it correctly. Other characters. They support and show us other sides of main characters like the extras should do. Specially I love that u put members of other kpop bands into your story. Like Yugyeom and others. (10)

My favorite scenes. First one on skating rink. It was at the very beginning of the story. When they were arguing. God it was cool. But I’m too Dory to remember all the things that I like in this one. Another one is scene at Yoongis room when he was thinking about the night when ice starts to melt a little. And I’ll add a scene on the roof to this one as well. (11)

Third one is a memory of the past with hair scrunchie. Whole scene made me so soft. G O D. It’s too romantic for my lonely ass. And ultimate fav the scene before an accident. It’s so adorable and once again reminds me of me and my friend a little cause we were found of skating catch game. Like who is fast enough to run away from another and last longer. (12)

One of the things that really bothered me was Olympic team. To be exact if I’m not mistaken usually Olympic team includes only best members of every single team. I mean every single athlete who suits the team by the level of experience and abilities. The whole team which won some championship or something can’t become an Olympic team. But maybe this rule works only in my country. 🤷🏼‍♀️ (13)

Another thing is little lack of experience or knowledge about both kinds of sports. I’m really into ice hockey and figure skating and some things weren’t exactly right. Specially about hockey. The game is really fast and if u ever had seen it’s live you understand that even a defenseman is able to score. Btw the game could be dirty like members of both teams are always fighting and got ejected. But most people doesn’t even know simple terminology of the game. So I just deal with it. (14)

I’m not trying to criticize you at all and I mean no disrespect to you when Im saying this but... Some things are a little far from reality but it’s a fiction so it’s okey. One more thing is you need to shovel the snow to skate on the lake. And it was never mentioned. (16)

I know it from my experience because I had to shovel the snow away to skate on the river. And it was really hard. But it was also unforgettable to skate on rivers ice surrounded by trees covered in pure white snow. It was like I was in The Snow Queens winter land from Hans Christian Andersen tale. (17)

Anyway you did your job so well. I really enjoyed this story. You are such a good teller and I love it so much. Also you made me wanted to go to the skating rink. It’s a good sign cause my acting teacher said that the art should make such impact on human beings to do something. I haven’t been on a skating rink like for year and a half. But I will go there this Sunday for sure. (18)

I can definitely say that I’m so thankful to this plagiarism thing cause it lead me to such a good authors and people. You all inspire me to write. Like I already was a ficwriter, but since I found all of you I wanted to try to write something in English as well. And I did but I’m scared to death to show it. I’m pretty sure in my abilities in my language but English is a whole different story. (19)

I’m waiting for the “We were made out of stars” series, cause it’s reminds me of Hancock movie with Will Smith. I rly love this film and your short story was so alike with its plot but without any superpowers and stuff. Another thing that it’s reminds me of is a novel by Hilary Duff-Elixir. It also was about remembering past lives and all this things. So I’m looking forward to this to come out. As for your criticisms, that’s fair. I’ve actually never seen snow in my entire life and I’ve only been ice-skating once or twice on an artificial rink, so my personal experience is highly lacking. I tried to do as much research as I could without spending hours pouring over information and watching videos that were only going to be attributed into less than a paragraph, though that clearly wasn’t enough. But, as you said, this is just fan fiction and it’s only something that I’m doing for fun and to build my writing skills, so certain details and facts are going to be glossed over—whether it be intentionally or unintentionally!!

“The Two Spains” (Boombshells! Jason Todd x Hispanic! Reader) (Part 1/?)

Hello my lil’ wings!!

I promise soon will come all these hc I promised! And also, the next part of “Stop that wedding!”

so today I discovered that Jason in boomshells is an basque spanish boy!

And his brief story was settled in the spanish civil war. So being the history buff i am...I had to give this a chance!

So i hope you enjoy this!

This part is longer and more history settled (sorry for the history leson xdd) so you dont get lost. The next part will be more dinamic and romantic. The reader is settled to be a valencian girl, as I know the language and also i know more about how the war was lived there. My grandparents have told me about how it was.

Your eyes opened in alarm as you heard the strong sound.

“SHH!”

You tiptoed over your toys on the ground to get to the door, where you slightly looked out to see what had made that sound.

You saw your father, talking in hushed tones to your mother. Worry painted her skin pale. Her eyes wide as she and your dad listened close to the wavering, echoing, hushed radio. Your father fist was closed tightly as you closed your eyes to listen intently.

“- Pamplona, Burgos, Zaragoza, Valladolid, Cádiz, Córdoba, Y finalmente Sevilla han apoyado el pronunciamiento del grupo militar de José Sanjurjo. El gobierno-”

“¡MIERDA! ¡JODER!” [SHIT! FUCK!] Your father said frustrated. Your mother quickly hushed him, as she saw your cowering form on the doorframe.

“Jason? nire maitea [my dear] Did you have a nightmare? “Your mother smiled as she came to pick you up. You hugged her neck “Let’s get you back to bed” She petted your back as you looked at your father, who looked at you with a dark glance. You hided your face in your mother’s soft neck as she entered your room once again.

“Ama” [mom] you said with a quivering voice. “Why was aita [dad] so mad?” Her smile faltered as she covered you with your thin cotton sheet.

“It’s nothing you should worry about mi bebe [my baby] Now sleep, my dear. You have school tomorrow.” She brushed your hair back as she kissed your forehead. “gau ona, nire maitea.” [good night, my dear]

“Gau ona,ama” You smiled as your eyes fluttered closed.

What you didn’t know is that it was the beginning of the end.

[ 18/10/1936 | Valéncia, Spain. | Morning]

The sweet smell of chocolate made your eyes fluttered open.

You smiled as the gentle face and warm smile of your mother greeted you.

“Good morning, Carinyet.” [ my darling] She smiled. “Did you sleep well?”

“Good morning, mami.” [mommy] You smiled. “I did. I dreamed of being in the countryside with grandma again!” Your mother smile widened as she brushed you (h/c) hair to the side. Big bags under her eyes as she hugged you tightly.

“Mami? Something wrong?” You asked, hugging her back.

“n-no, perla [my pearl] …just get dressed and join us downstairs.” She smiled.

“Okay!” You smiled innocently. Your mother exited the room as your thirteen-year-old body carried you to the bathroom. You brushed your teeth and changed to your thin but warm (f/c) dress, you put your old weathered shoes on and skipped downstairs.

You greeted your dad and your sibling as you took your seat next to your mother.

The sound of the radio harmonized your breakfast as you all keep silent eating your food. Meanwhile, you zoomed out the news as you looked at your parents face intently.

Your father face looked tired, heavy bags under his eyes. He was dressed in his uniform, it looked a bit out of place, his tie was fumbled as his normally slicked back (h/c) hair was all over the place.

When his (e/c) eyes made contact with yours you looked away to your plate. After eating, your mother coughed to get your attention.

“You all know…how dad works in the army right?” she smiled, holding your fathers hand. “Well…you see…um…y-yesterday-y um..something…big..happened…and ah..we..” her unwavering (e/c) gaze locked into yours put you on edge as your father hugged her shoulder. She sighed heavily as you father spoke.

“We are moving.”

“What?” said your sibling. “Why?!”

“The reason why is not…important right now. We are leaving in two days. We are moving to Castilla La mancha.” His eyes looked into yours as they filled with sorrow. “(y/n) …you will stay with your grandmother okay? She will come pick you up tomorrow.”

“W-what?” you said as your eyes filled with tears.

“WHY?! WHY CAN’T SHE COME WITH US?!” Your sibling yelled, getting up from their spot.

“ITS SAFER FOR HER TO STAY HERE! SHE CAN’T COME WITH US. IT’S NOT GOING TO BE PRETTY!” Your father yelled back.

“IM NOT GOING WITHOUT HER!” He yelled back, your father got up as he slapped your sibling’s cheek. You let out a sob as your mother ran to hug you. You hugged back tightly, soaking in her warmness. As you breathed her essence deeply you heard your sibling’s heavy angry steps upstairs. You pulled away from your mom as you followed them upstairs.

You could hear their sobs as you opened their door silently, you peeked your head and with a soft voice asked:

“(tete [bro]/teta[sis])? Can I come in?” You asked softly. They wiped their tears as they sat on the bed.

“come here” they smiled softly as you ran to their arms. They hugged you tightly. “I promise I will come to find you.”

You smiled. “I know (tete/teta)…I will wait for you to come for me.” You smiled, kissing their tears. They smiled back as they untied the thin chain around their neck, hanging from it a little old white-pink shell.

“Remember this?” They smiled. “You made it for my birthday when you were a small baby.” They smiled and put it around your neck, tying it softly as you looked at it. “You said it was so I could remember you forever… now it’s yours. It’s a promise, that I will come for you.” They smiled, hugging you.

“Wait!” You said, pulling away from the hug and running to your room. Your loud steps resonated on the house as you came back quickly. You smiled cheekily as you showed them a wool (f/c) wristband. You tied it around their right wrist and smiled.

“This is my promise to you that I’ll be there when you come to get me!” You both smiled as you melted in a loving hug.

You sat on the window chair, bathing in the warm sun. Your Ausiàs March book rested on your lap.

It was the one of the few books you could own. A present from your grandfather.

You sighs as your favorite poem was presented before you, it’s pages slightly broken, your smile widen as you take a deep breath and start reading out loud your favorite poem:

As you sigh you heard soft claps, you turned to the door and saw your grandmother. She smiled warmly at you.

“You did so great my darling!” the old woman smiled. “you have an amazing voice!”

“¡Iaia!” [ grandma!] You yelled excitedly as you ran to hug her. Her frail arms surrounded you in her warmness. You smiled as your nostrils smelled that familiar smell mixed with the smell of flowers.

“La meua xicoteta pit-roig…” [my little robin] She smiled, brushing your hair. “ Don’t worry, you and I will have a lot of fun on the town.”

“But…(s/n)….(he/she)..” You started tearing up as she wiped them away.

“shhh, (he/she) will come back after everything passed…” she cooed

“but, iaia…what’s going on?” you sniffled.

“(Y/n)” Your father breathed. He was hugging your mother waist tightly. You mother looked on the verge of tears, her arms holding your father weakly, you were sure if your father wasn’t holding her she would be on her knees. Your grandma let you go to hug her daughter, who softly started sobbing and whispering to her. Your father came to you and kneel, hugging you tightly. His uniform felt cool to the touch, his hair tickled your temple as he let out a restrained sob.

“Be careful…” He whispered. “We will come for you soon. Just…be careful…”

“I will, papi…” You sniffled as you hugged him tightly. “Just…promise me whatever is going on…you’ll come back home.” You voice broke slightly as you said the last words.

“I will…” he smiled sadly. “I promise.” You hugged him tightly. Your mother broke to tears as your sibling and grandmother held her.

All of you knew he may not be able to hold his promise at all.

Spain then was broken in two, the known as rebel zone and the republican zone. Families alike where separated by war.

On Thursday July 23rd a National Defense Board, which would be set up the next day in Burgos. Their Decreet No. 1 established that it assumed "all the powers of the State" and that it would represent the country before foreign powers, although in the following weeks no country recognized it and continued to consider Spain's legitimate government the leftist republican José Giral. Franco was chosen as chief military commander at a meeting of ranking generals at Salamanca on 21 September, now called by the title Generalísimo. Two days after relieving the siege of Alcazáe, Franco proclaimed himself Caudillo ("chieftain", the Spanish equivalent of the Italian Duce and the German Führer -meaning: 'director')

On 1 October 1936, General Franco was confirmed head of state and armies in Burgos.

They were aided by Portugal, the Nazi Germany and fascist Italy, the second made of Spain their laboratory for their world war II weapons.

On July 27, 1936, the first Italian aircraft squadron sent by Benito Mussolini arrived in Spain.

[27/10/1936 | Euskadi, Spain. | Daytime]

“Kabenzotz!” He yelled as he held his red beanie tightly. He ran between the crowded streets. He bit his lip as he hided behind a group of nuns when he saw his father and his group exit a bar, the shotguns clearly shining on their backs. The nuns sensed his discomfort and stayed put until he saw his father turn the corner. He thanked them and keep running.

He was walking towards his hideout as he clutched a note tightly.

His teacher, Miss Echevarria who knew him since he was practically a toddler had pulled him aside. She knew his family, and she knew how lonely Jason was during the day. She told him she had an old friend whose sister was going to be isolated just like him, she told him they had sorted that both of them needed a friend…so why not them?

Jason sat on the dusty ground as he pulled the note open. It had a small note from his to be pen pal.

He pulled his old notebook and his pen as he read the small smuggled note.

Hola!

Hello stranger, my sibling told me you were going to be my friend?

Well. This is kind of weird as I don’t know if this will arrive to you.

Jason smiled as he pulled the note on his pocket. He put his notebook on his lap as he started writing.

My name is Jason, Jason Todd! I live in Vizcaya! But I want to see more than my small town! I like adventure, reading and poetry!

Um…could you tell me something about your town? I’ve heard the Mediterranean Sea is very blue and calm! And that you got some pretty flowers too!

The next day, Jason gave his note to a noticeably tired and paler Miss Echevarria, who smiled at him and saved his note on her bag.

Later that day, his note was send through the mail.

“Soon” both of them smiled.

Even if the country was breaking, their bond wouldn’t.

As love had just bloomed.

Chicken Man 2: Legacy of the Jedi

Happy birthday, @hanorganaas. I’m so thankful to have your friendship in my life and I hope you have a stellar birthday. (BTW you should all give her Legendary Heroine verse a read and leave lots of comments. It’s fabulous.)

The fact that a universe where Star Wars was the reality still stunned Jax. He couldn’t believe he was actually walking around a Resistance base. Everything around him was real from the droids rolling past him to the machinery part he held in his hand. It was the kind of thing that people dreamed to experience, walking around in a world thought to be fictional. For him, it was another day in the life of a Legend.

In their jump to this universe, part of the Waverider’s engine had gotten busted due to stress and partially due to age. Since they rescued Han Solo from certain death, the Resistance had permitted them to temporarily dock at their new base in order to obtain the needed part. Jax felt sympathetic towards the group, given they had just lost one of their admirals in the serious attack on the First Order. At least there was still fight in the survivors and determination to defeat their enemies.

Someone bumped in him. “Oof!”

Jax stumbled back, nearly losing his grip on the part. “Sorry, man.”

“It’s okay,” the man across from him smiled easily. “My fault. I wasn’t watching where I was going.”

“Don’t worry about it,” Jax replied.

He now recognized this man to be Finn. Strangely, he felt as if there was something familiar about him. It went beyond recognition of him as the flesh-and-blood version of one of his favorite characters. There was something deeper to it. Jax felt it stirring within him.

“Have we met before?” Finn asked, pointing to him. “You seem familiar.”

“I was about to ask you the same thing,” Jax chuckled.

“Finn!”

A young woman with short brown hair walked towards them. Jax immediately recognized her as Rey. Again, the same sensation of familiarity surged through Jax. As she came to a stop beside Finn, the feeling grew even stronger. Something connected the three of them together, but he had no idea how.

“Rose is awake,” Rey told Finn. “Poe’s with her now, but she’s been asking to see you.”

“Got it,” the former stormtrooper nodded. “I was on my way to see her, but I ran into…”

“Jax,” he introduced himself. “I’m with the people with the oversized chicken.”

“The one who saved Han Solo,” Rey smiled warmly at him. “Thank you for that. I can’t imagine what things would be like without him.”

“I wouldn’t try to,” Jax replied. “It’s nice to meet you two. I gotta get this part back to my ship. See ya.”

With that, he started to walk off, but then turned around to walk back to them.

“Sorry, but are you sure we’ve never met before?” Jax asked the pair. “I swear, I feel like I know you two.”

“I’ve got a feeling like that too,” Finn agreed. “But I’ve even seen you before today.”

“You two aren’t the only ones with that feeling,” Rey added. “Even though I’ve never met you, there’s something very familiar about you.”

Jax shrugged. “Maybe I’ve got a doppelganger running around in this universe. Sorry, I just had to ask before I left.”

“It’s fine. Good luck getting back home.”

“May the Force be with you.”

“Thanks. Same to both of you.”

“Wait wait wait,” Felicity held up her hands. “You left the giant chicken in another universe?”

“There were transportation issues,” Ray explained with a weak smile. “We were going to leave, but we ended up helping Leia and the Resistance and-”

“Ray couldn’t shrink the chicken again,” Oliver added, sighing. “There was no way to get Chickenasaurus Rex back on the Waverider. So the Legends suggested that the Resistance could take him to use in battle.”

“That’s kind of sad,” Felicity lamented. “Is Cisco going to be able to create another?”

“I’m not sure if I want to start messing with genetics again,” Cisco shook his head. “That was not the first giant chicken. The others…things didn’t go so well.”

“How bad were they?”

“Most of them ended up losing all their feathers.”

Ray grimaced. “You sure you can’t do anything.”

“I’ll give it one last attempt,” Cisco agreed. “But I’m stopping there. I’ve seen enough of the Jurassic series to know when to call it quits.”

For months, Jax gave no more thought to the interactions that he’d had with Finn and Rey. As far as he knew, it had just been coincidence. There had been stranger moments he’d gone though as a Legend. That one was near the bottom of the list of weird crap Jax had ever had happen to him.

Then he wound up on another Earth with Grey after Barry and Iris’s wedding had been invaded by Nazis. Earth-X Snart and his boyfriend had managed to get them to the way home, but between it and them was an army of Nazis. Oliver summoned a poultry army to help provide support in battle, but birds could only stand up so well against bullets. They still needed to get to the handle to power up the breach. However, running to it with the soldiers firing all around was a suicide mission.

The worst part was that he could sense Grey was about to make a break for it.

“Don’t do it,” Jax murmured, wishing they weren’t separated by a walkway so they could fuse into Firestorm.

However, the old man didn’t hear him. He started to inch out from behind the machine he was hiding behind. Before he could get to far out though, Stein stopped in his path. His eyes were fixed up in the air when his jaw dropped. Jax whipped his head up in the same direction. A similar expression was probably etched on his face.

Above a group of soldiers was a slowly-forming portal. The Nazis were thankfully oblivious to it, but Sara and Oliver took notice of it too. Moments later, a giant chicken dropped down onto the Earth-X Nazis. There were muffled screams as the bird squashed them beneath its feathered keister. Jax stared at the new sight with shock.

“Chickenasaurus?” he gaped.

Stein looked equally stunned. “What in the-”

Chickenasaurus squawked loudly, drowning out whatever he was about to say. Two large porgs dropped out of the portal as well before it sealed closed. Jax stopped paying attention to the rest of room to stare at the newcomers. Rey dismounted from one of them and Finn from the other. Only then did he notice that there were two people on the back of the big chicken.

“Oh my god,” Jax said. “This isn’t happening.”

“You better believe it,” Leia grinned from where she was perched on Chickenasaurus with Han. “Those two sensed you needed help. So we rounded up the chicken and its offspring and came to help.”

“I can’t believe this,” Stein shook his head. “But we still need to make sure we get home.”

Suddenly, Chickenasaurus screeched and scampered back onto her feet. She started to charge towards the halves of Firestorm. Jax quickly pulled Grey away from the oncoming fowl so he wouldn’t be run over. Han was clinging to Leia as the bird grabbed a Nazi soldier in its beck and tossed the scum far away. Jax was still staring when Sara, Alex, and Leo came running in with Barry and Oliver in tow. Barry and Terrill weren’t far behind them.

“What is that?” Alex asked, her brows knitting.

“Chickenasaurus?” Sara uttered.

Leo’s eyes were as wide as his doppelganger’s had been when he first laid eyes on the enormous chicken. “I can’t believe I’m seeing this right now.”

None of them, save for Jax, noticed a group of the Nazi scumbags had gotten over the shock of seeing an enormous chicken. He glanced up in time to see the rifles being aimed at their group, including the newcomers. There was a round of gunfire as something reared up inside of him. Jax felt a power like he’d never known and thrust out his hand.

The bullets stopped in their path.

Jax stared at the bits of metal staying in midair a few feet from their group. Everyone had turned around and was now noticing what was happening. The Nazis looked puzzled as they ran out of ammunition when all they had shot would not hit their target. Jax’s friends were equally confused by the display before them. Rey and Leia were both regarding him with a peculiar look though.

“Push back.”

The voice whispered the two words into Jax’s ear, but he had a feeling that no one else could hear them except him. Bringing his hand back slightly, he pushed forward with the power he felt in him. The bullets hurtled back towards the Nazis, mostly striking the equipment around them. However, there were some rounds that struck them. Confused, Jax lowered his hand.

Everyone was silent until Sara cleared her throat.

“So I’m going to be the first to ask it,” she said. “What the hell was that?”

“And how long have you been able to do that?” Stein asked.

Jax shook his head. “I have no idea.”

“I do,” Leia said, smiling.

“How about we get home first?” Alex suggested. “I don’t want to stay on this Earth a second longer. No offense.”

“None taken,” Leo said.

“We need to get going while we have the chance,” Terrill agreed. “So let’s do this. And bring the chicken and these…”

“Porgs,” Finn answered, whistling to summon the one that he had ridden in on.

“Porgs,” Terrill repeated. “Okay then. Let’s move.”

Oliver clucked a few times, and Chickenasaurus followed after him with the porgs as they flipped the switch and walked into the breach.

In the end, they won the fight against the invaders from Earth-X. Leonard had been somewhat stunned to meet his doppelganger, as had Mick. Barry and Iris got married in the park with all of their family and super-friends watching, along with some visitors from alternate worlds and enormous fowl. Everything was happy and good, despite the lingering questions about Jax’s newly-discovered ability. Fortunately, Leia had a part of the answer.

“You have the Force,” she said to him when he talked to her about it at the hastily put together reception for Barry and Iris. “I sensed it in you the last time we met. I suspect Rey and Finn did too. It was buried, but it was there.”

“I know Rey has the Force, but I didn’t know Finn had it too,” Jax replied, glancing over at them and feeling that same strange connection again.

Leia followed his gaze. “He has it. He just doesn’t know it yet. It’s buried for him too, but soon I think he’ll figure it out.”

“So I have the Force?” Jax grinned. “That’s kinda cool. Ray’s going to be jealous of me.”

“The tall one who shrinks?” Leia asked, getting a nod from Jax. “He did seem excitable about meeting me.”

“Can’t say I blame him. You’re a legend, after all.”

“Glad to hear someone holds me in high regard.”

Jax looked back to Finn and Rey again. “So how come I feel something connecting me to them? I know you have the Force, but I don’t feel that same kind of connection.”

Leia thought about it for a minute. “I don’t know for certain. That’s something you might have to find out on your own as you learn more about the power inside you. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to find my other half.”

“Thank you,” Jax told her as she left him to make her way towards Han.

He thought about going over to Rey and Finn to talk to them about the connection some more, but then he spotted Stein finishing up a chat with Barry and Iris. As the couple walked away, Jax took his chance at the opening. He navigated around Alex, Kara, and both versions of Leonard Snart to make his way over to the older man. It was time to finally say goodbye.

“Grey,” Jax said, drawing the older man’s attention to him.

Stein looked over at him. “Jefferson. Is everything okay?”

“Yeah,” Jax nodded. “I was just talking with Leia about what happened back on Earth Nazi.”

“Ah yes. It appears I owe my life to the enormous chicken, and also to you.”

“About that,” Jax swallowed. “You should take the serum and neutralize the matrix.”

Stein frowned. “Are you sure? Earlier you weren’t sure-”

“That was different,” Jax cut him off. “That was before I discovered I have this power inside me. It’s always been there, and I never knew until now. I don’t need to become Spider-Man with that other formula. You can retire, and I can stay on the Waverider and still be helpful to the team.”

For a long moment, Stein was silent.

“Gray, I’m gonna be fine. Just make sure you don’t leave me out of the stories when you tell them to Ronnie.”

The other half of Firestorm smiled. “With everything you’ve done for me, there’s no way you could be left out.”

“Great,” Jax shuffled a little. “I’ll miss you.”

“Me too,” Stein agreed. “But you are welcome to visit me any time. After all, you are part of my family.”

“You believe this is going to tell us why we have a connection to each other?” Rey asked as Jax lead her and Finn down the hall so the Waverider.

“Hopefully,” Jax brought them into the bridge. “Gideon has data from the timeline of this universe and yours since we visited it too. Maybe there’s something she can find that we can’t.”

Finn took his eyes away from the study to look back at Jax. “I hope so. It’s beyond just you and Rey having the Force.”

“Yeah,” he agreed, not telling Finn he had the Force too. Leia hadn’t explicitly said it, but her tone when they had talked about it implied that Finn needed to find it out on his own. “Gideon?”

“Mr. Jackson?” the AI answered. “Happy to see you alive.”

“Glad to be alive,” Jax told her. “Grey told me to pass along a goodbye to you. But right now I need you to tell me if there’s something that I share with Finn and Rey.”

Gideon didn’t say anything for a few moments. “Mr. Jackson, I should caution the three of you about knowing too much of your future.”

“No,” Rey snapped. “We need to know. Tell us.”

“Yeah,” Finn agreed. “Whatever it is, we can handle it.”

Jax nodded. “You heard ‘em, Gideon.”

“It’s fortunate I have data from both of your universes,” Gideon said sharply. “But with what I found, Mr. Jackson is your descendent.”

Jax froze before slowly turning to stare at the other two people on the bridge. Finn was frozen in place, his eyes wide. Rey was bracing herself against the console. The three of them were family. That’s why they all felt connected.

“How?” Finn shook his head. “We’re from different universes, you said so yourself.”

“Over one hundred years after the fall of the First Order, your great-great-grandson will go missing in your universe,” Gideon told him. “He shows up in this universe on a record in the seventeenth century. Mr. Jackson is his direct descendant, and thus yours.”

Rey gazed at Jax. “You’re our descendant.”

“Yeah,” Jax nodded. “A lot of greats-grandson of two heroes.”

“We’re the ancestors of a hero here,” Finn smiled over at Rey. “Wow.”

Rey still looked shaken, so Jax walked over to her. “Are you okay?”

To his surprise, she released her grip on the console and hugged him. It startled Jax at first, but he then returned the action.

“I never thought I’d have family,” she told him. “Now I know for certain I will.”

Jax smiled. “So are you okay if I don’t call you Grandma?”

Rey laughed.

“Ray.”

Ray turned around on his workbench with the parts of his anti-magic gun resting in front of him. Jax was standing in the entryway of the lab. It was good to have him around on the ship still even after Stein left. Rey and Finn asked if he wanted to come back to their universe with them and learn how to control the Force, but he had declined. Jax was now training on his own to control it and use it whenever he was called upon to.

“Have you got a minute?” Jax asked.

“Yeah, sure,” Ray nodded. “What’s up?”

“Remember when you constructed that lightsaber?”

He did. After all, he had tested it with Mick against Kylo Ren and it worked great. However, he’d given it to the Resistance before they left the Star Wars universe. “What about it?”

Jax took a piece of paper from his pocket and passed it to Ray. “I was wondering if you could do it again.”

Ray looked down at the drawing and grinned. “I can make it work.”

Mallus landed in Salvation with a roar. The destruction of this town would just be the beginning. Soon it would get larger and larger. His terror would spread until it consumed the whole of this universe. Then he would move onto the next one, and the one after that to slowly convert all of reality to a hellscape for the lesser ones of his kind.

“Yo, Big Ugly!”

Mallus turned around. Standing in the middle of the road was the young man from earlier, the one Legend who had chosen not to wear a totem. In his hand was a small rod.

“You’re going to have to kill us before you destroy the town!” Jefferson Jackson shouted.

Mallus chuckled. “Who are you to stop me?”

Jax grinned and thrust his hand out. Something invisible slammed into Mallus, pushing him back quite a bit. The human then held up the rod. Pressing a finger to the side, a long blade of orange emerged and burned with light.

“Such a puny weapon,” Mallus laughed.

“It’s not puny,” Jax said. “I can take you with it. And it’s not all I have.”

A clucking began to fill the air. It steadily grew louder and louder. Mallus’s forces began to shout and scream as the noise became even louder. When he finally turned, a wave of chickens was flocking towards him. Mallus roared at them, but they wouldn’t stop.

“Force-called some chickens!” Jax shouted. “A trick from Oliver Queen to distract you.”

Mallus growled and swiped at the chickens as the ground began to rumble. A moment later, the roof of the saloon burst open and something enormous and blue launched out of it. Both time demon and human watched as it fell back down to Earth. Once it did, Mallus regarded the large, fuzzy, and blue creature that was standing beside the mortal as he continued to bat the chickens out of his way. Jax stared at it for a minute before thrusting his hand out towards Mallus again and sending him flying back harder.

“He’s all yours, Beebo!”

Fic Writers Week 2017 - Day 1

Words of Validation - As a reader, give some feedback. As a writer share some of your favorite comments.

Reader I will be the first to admit: I am bad at giving feedback. I consume fanfiction daily, but the habit of commenting is not one that has stuck with me easily. Sure, sure. In a moment, when talking directly to Pocket FriendsTM, I can give feedback. But alone at 3am, laying in bed? It’s not a thing that happens. That being said, I wanted to highlight some of my absolute always-go-back-to fics that I’ve probably never commented on, but adore (that are limited to Wayhaught and Bechloe fics, atm, because sitting here sifting through the toxic love affair I had with G*** is too much).

Open Range Hearts by thewaywedo33 / @thewaywedo33 (Wayhaught) First of all, this is magnificent. Your story, admittedly, got me into Wayhaught. I’d been seeing it on my dash and I went over to ao3 and was, like, what even is there to read? The answer was... not much. But this fic was there and I opened it hesitantly and damn. I don’t like horses. If I never meet a horse by its first name, I’ll be glad. But the world you created, keeping all of the characters in their lanes and dropping them into this what-Purgatory-could-be environment (because I can totally see it as a running farm) is just amazing. You have such a way with words that I find myself going back to the scene in the barn where they give in and I live that moment - Nicole’s pleading for Waverly to stop doing this thing that neither of them can control, Waverly’s hot and cold confusion. Also, the hat falling to the ground? I don’t know why I love that single detail so much, but I do. (I think it’s because - and I’m so guilty of this myself, until I reread a few times - people forget things like that? It’s like a math problem. If a woman is wearing a cowboy hat, and a second women launches herself at the first with a velocity of attraction, is she wearing a hat by the time their lips touch?)

Tripping, Stumbling, Flipping, Fumbling by TheGaySmurf / @iamthegaysmurf (Wayhaught) Let me make a list of the things I love about this fic, in no particular order: the vague opening where you’re like, WHAT HAPPENED TO MY NICOLE?!; Doc letting it slip; Waverly being like, rules, what rules? Let me back there; the hilarious series of unfortunate events that Nicole experiences, THE FACE THAT IT HAPPENED WHILE HOLDING AN ‘ACCIDENT PREVENTION PLAN’ BINDER; and just the love. I love the love.

if we never take the first step (let’s get a move on) by socallmedaisy / @socallmedaisy (Wayhaught) I’m sure (I hope) that I gushed about this fic to you, directly, but I also want to leave a comment, because it’s beautiful. Immediately, I love the way Wynonna’s whiskey makes her forget to whisper. I love the way Waverly slides in and makes that soft ache in Nicole’s chest (she knows Wynonna doesn’t like, cue the Han Face) disappear. AND THEN WYNONNA CALLS NICOLE A HERO and the spot in my heart, the one for the WynHaught bromance, it lights up like a fireworks display. Honestly, the whole thing is just what I needed and it settles in my chest like a good hug, if that makes sense. When they finally get to those three words, it feels like all of this up and down and crazy life they lead is worth it. You make it feel like it’s worth it. Also, the visual of Nicole with a sleeping baby on her chest is just... it’s magical.

heaven talks (but not to me) by belikeabumblee / @belikebumblebee I love this story. I love the relationship-building between Wynonna and Nicole. I love the way Nicole steps back and gives Waverly the space she needs, that she comforts her and feeds her, and then at the same time, is not afraid to verbalize that Waverly needs to get her shit together. I love when relationships are shown this: when one person gives the other space to grieve, to come to terms with a big truth, but doesn’t let them sink themselves in that pit of despair; when one person steps up and says, I know you think you need this but I know you and you need to do that before you can move on from this. I love when people talk to each other and you had them talk so beautifully, so honestly. I just... I love this story.

stare into the sky until we’re blind by lescousinsdangereux (Bechloe) YOU DID A ROAD TRIP FIC. Okay, but I need you to know: the part where they get out of a speeding ticket was, hands down, one of my favorite things about this fic. I feel like Beca is written so... restrained? And the way she’s so obviously flustered here is fantastic. Additionally, the way you picked the moment Chloe falls for Beca to be when she’s rapping is such a perfect throwback to the shock and then delight on Chloe’s face in the first movie, when she starts going with ‘No Diggity.’ Just the choices you made, plot- and word-wise are fantastic, magnificent, and now I’m re-reading this from start to finish.

You Still Make Sense To Me (Your Mess Is Mine) by wherehopelies (Bechloe) This hits all of my trope weaknesses - fake dating, roommates to girlfriends, getting a pet. I mean, this fic was, like, written specifically for me, I’m pretty sure. I just want to thank you for making me fall in love with a dog named Potato (and giving him an godmother). I want to thank you for having absolutely no one be surprised about Beca and Chloe finally dating. I want to thank you for the delicious slow burn that is these two idiots being in love without knowing their in love. Also also also, your use of David Guetta is 10/10 and, like, I don't know how you pulled that off without making it super cheesy, but you did.

Forgive Me These November Days by obstinate_questionings (Bechloe) I read this often. I’m not going to lie. I read this frequently. I love love love love the way you write Chloe, specifically. I love the way you explore the way she thinks and the way she acts. I especially love how in-character she feels, especially because in the film, her character traits are very fleeting and hard to grab onto. I’ve seen people pull out the party-girl trait and run with that. But this Chloe? The one you’ve built from a few small character-building scenes in the movie? My heart aches. Also, this is the best Chloe-Aubrey friendship I’ve ever read. Ever. And I will continue to come back to this fic again and again and again.

Writer One of my favorite things about posting a story is refreshing my email. I love waking up the morning after posting a story and opening my email and seeing comments from people who read it while I was sleeping. There are so many amazing people who comment, but I just want to pull out a few that really stuck in my ribs over the last few weeks.

Reading this one was like buying a new album from your favorite band and just being perfectly reminded why you fell in love with them in the first place while enjoying their growth.

I JUST REALLY LOVE THIS SERIES.

I read this sentence over and over again and decided it’s the best damn compliment I could have ever received. It immediately reminded me of, like,

jaguarspot on yesterday and days before (sun is cold and rain is hard)

For an 80s music AU, this one had almost no music, which is fitting seeing as a part of the music in their lives just faded

Writing this Curtangst was just as hard as I’m assuming it was to read it. This series has become so much a part of my life (you think I’m kidding but right now, Survivor’s Vital Signs is blasting on my cassette player for the fifth time today) that it was so important to set Curtis up and to make his death resonate across all of the characters who interacted with him daily, who mattered to him. To be honest, Curtis plays such a large part of their musical history (which you guys will see eventually) that having someone nail it head of the head so perfectly... It floored me. It absolutely floored me.

Is this your opus? Your heart and soul has poured into every crevice of this story. I haven't stayed up until 2am reading fic for years but this, this kept me awake all night. And the music was to die for.

It felt like a combination of a love story to 80s music/movies and to the middle era of fic - how exactly did you pull off a songfic btw? I was a bit late to the Wayhaught party and hadn't been interested in reading about them before I saw there was a story written by you.

It must be over ten years now that I've been reading your work and I haven't once been disappointed. Even back in the angst days there was always a level of hope in your stories (however deep it might have been buried) and it's wonderful to read your more recent pieces where the balance of angst to hope has been tipped on its head.

I'm so looking forward to reading the rest of this series and listening to all those wonderful mixtapes! Nicole's anxiety over getting those tapes right was so perfect. It had my fingers itching to hit the buttons of a dual deck again.

I love this comment for many reasons. I joined fandom at such a young age, that I’ve already been in ‘the game’ for... ten years? Definitely longer. It’s probably actually more like twelve, to be honest. (Which is why I see fandom ‘grandma’ posts and laugh, because, like I am one.) Anyway, what is so cool about fandom, and one of the things I love about this comment, is that forgetthesun is right - they started reading my work nearly ten years ago. Back when all we had were glances and lingering brushes of hands and people created worlds from a .02 second moment in time. My work used to be angst, angst, angst. And I’m so fucking grateful someone followed me out of that dark time to now, to better days. (I’m also looking at you, @iamthegaysmurf.) The other reason I love this comment is because they’re right; this is my opus. I have - and continue to - put so, so much of myself into this. I also put so much of Smurf into it, as well. I feel like out of everything I’ve ever written, this one just... feels different. It feels like more. It feels like everything. (Also, dude, if I knew how in the hell I pulled off a songfic, I would send myself back in time and rewrite all the songfics I ever did, I swear to god.)

tl;dr - go back and read it, you cowards (I say, with affection)
