As Carrie Fisher would say... ladies and gentlemoons, welcome to a new edition of our classic Holiday Exchange!

This is an anonymous exchange where each participant will write and receive a Han/Leia fanfic (min.: 500 words, max.: ~5k words).

Who can participate? Anyone and everyone who loves Han and Leia! Whether you prefer Legends, Disney canon or AUs; whether you've written 100 fics, 5 or none; whether you’re a new fan or an older fan; whether you even celebrate any holidays or not... this event is for you if you like writing and presents!

How does it work?

This exchange will take place both on Tumblr and on Archive of Our Own, which means having an account in both sites is a requisite for participants (If you don’t have an Ao3 account, please contact the mods. They can send you an invite and help you if you have any questions about it!)

You will need to sign up via the link to Ao3 below and will upload your work to the collection there whenever you’re finished. We will post it for you on Jan. 16, and it will remain anonymous until Jan. 31.

On Tumblr, you will be contacted by the mods and send/receive anonymous messages to/from your recipients/writers, so make sure you have anonymous messaging turned on. We ask you to please reach out to your recipient at least once: not only is it a great way to find out more about what kind of gift they would enjoy, but it’s also a really fun part of the exchange!

Han was shivering, the cold was seeping in faster than he could have anticipated. He was cursing the ship that they were given as a loaner while they were waiting on yet another replacement part for the Falcon.

The instrument panel hadn’t informed them that there was an ongoing electrical issue, which in hind sight, Han thought, was why the damn panel didn’t tell them in the first place. 

He and Leia were now stuck on a planet that made Hoth almost look like a tropical getaway. They knew they weren’t going to survive outside the walls of the ship. Han tried to get a signal out before all electrical had died, but he didn’t know for certain if it had worked. 

He wasn’t as tolerable to the cold as she was. He came from Corellia, where the temperature never really dipped below standard 60 degrees, and his people also had a higher natural body temperature. Leia lived on Alderaan most of her life, and her palace was on a mountain. She was use to the cooler conditions and faired better than her husband.

Leia was now curled up on his arms, head against his chest. Her finger tracing random patterns against his forearm. It was only a moment before Leia stood up, and Han tried to grasp onto her.

“Where are you going?” Han watched as she looked around the cupboards, and began to wander into the corridors.

“We need to find you a blanket or 10, before you start to freeze.” She continued to search through every cabinet, knowing she had seen some blankets during pre-inspection. Her face lit up when she finally located them several minutes later.

She grabbed a large armful, not really being able to see over the pile, and walked them into their quarters. Han stood up, and assisted Leia with making a blanket nest on the bed. Han then sat in the middle before holding his arms out to Leia.

She crawled into his awaiting arms, and then covered the two of them with several more blankets. Han’s shivering started to slowly dissipate. He looked down at her, realizing he never asked a simple question. “Is there anything you need my love?” 

“Just hold me close.”
