Technically New Years Resolutions

Here’s the thing, New Years resolutions are typically associated with doing something for a week and then slowly tampering off. But because you technically did it, you can cross it off. And I know it’s cliche for someone to go “you want to do these things forever” and sometimes it’s not always that easy. Here are a few things you can start with that you can continue for like ever. (it's not going to the gym...fuck that)

Getting in the habit of washing your face. You don’t need a time or a routine. You can literally get Up and Up from CVS for like 5 dollars. Do it when you take your first bathroom trip of the day and the last one, right before bed. Literally go ham with your hands. You don’t need a fancy brush or some 50 dollar face wash when you’re in the early stages. Get in the habit first, make sure its a routine before you spend that extra money, that way when you do it doesn’t rot on your shelve for two years.  

Keep good company. Is that one friend you keep around good for you or are you afraid of being alone? Do they congratulate you when you get promoted or do they think of a reason that may be bad? Are you two always up late talking about things you enjoy or do the just have really good gossip? IF YOU ARE IN BAD COMPANY, YOU ARE ALONE. They have go to go if they're not good for you. Do it for future you.

Own up to shit you did. If you did something that you didn’t want people to know gets out, OWN UP TO IT. We’ve all fucked up. The thing you did may be bad and you know what, it may screw up your life a bit getting out but, you wont have to hide it anymore. And then you learn. You learn how not to do that in the future because you’ll remember how shitty you felt. 

Clean out your closet. Start with shoes. Thats a small task and no one reading this is Carie Bradshaw. Figure out what you actually wear and plan on wearing. Then the skirts, then the jackets, then the dresses - Basically work yourself up to your t-shirts. You and I both have a shit ton on those. Doing them in segments will make it easer to go through rather than doing them all at once. (Give yourself about a month of time to do it all - I know you’ve got a life and you know you’re going to forget for about a week.) Now when you’ve got through everything take it to family and or a younger friend, let them go through and pick everything they want. It will make their day and you know that because you loved it when you were a kid. That black hefty bag had wonders in it. Then when they’re done, on your way home drop them off at a thrift shop. Preferably one with good morals but anyone really works.  

Figure out what you really like, not what the current tend is telling you to like. This works for clothes, music, style, and those weird gym work outs. Micro trends start all like time. And they die just as fast. Do not buy into that weird fashion piece you see all over Pinterest. Yes, I know it would go perfectly with that one pair of shoes or jeans: BUT THATS EXACTY IT. Do you really like it for would it just make a good instagram photo? Does that weird work out work FOR YOU or was the influencer that said it worked for her just in great shape? Obviously try it, don’t be sacred, but after three weeks or so if it’s not doing what you want it to, it maybe it's not for you. Does that green drink that tastes like carpet actually make you feel good or is it a placebo? Look at what you own or do that makes you feel comfortable. Find out what it is specially about it and then do some research to find more like it. That works for jeans, tops, bras, workouts, food, really anything. Wear what makes you comfortable. Do what you enjoy. Do not fall into micro-trends that will die in two weeks. I promise that weird bucket hat or makeup style you can only achieve with that one specific brand is marketing. It is so you buy into it. It's a trap.

This year you are doing things for you. Knock it off with that people pleaser attitude. Who knows, maybe this is your villain arc. Or it's just a quiet year where you build you and the ground for who you build yourself into.

it would also happen when watching a movie, your legs on his lap, his hands strocking them : you are often, always, a distraction to him. your soft skin under his finger tips, your warmth n weight on his lap, your scent as your arms are around his neck. all his sense are invaded by you but it's not enough for him. he wants more n that boring movie is doing the exact opposite of what he needs : your attention. and he will take it : his hands would slowly travel your legs, hinting you if his boredom. angel, could you sit on my lap for me, he'd say as he would help you to face him n not the tv, you know you really hypnotizing. you're really so pretty, my love. he wouldn't let you do a thing, talking you thru it, his hands on your things slowing coming to your waist, pulling you closer to him, his eyes right on yours. my pretty pretty girl, sitting so prettily just for me, he would finally said, kissing you roughly. making out w him when he is needy do you, would never start slow, passionate kisses shared almost fighting for dominance, so pretty, he'd murmur against your lips, looking so pretty in front of me how do you expect me to stay put. it's also during those kind of kisses that he would dive his tongue between your lips, after bitting your bottom lip. he wants everything you could give him and even more, what he can take from you. and as his tongue n lips can't be controled, so is his hands, place on your lower back or your waist, pulling you impossibly closer to him, almost you falling down on him. he would be so into it, only the tv can remind you that life exist n that the both of you can't stay kissing all night all, pulling a laugh from him. he'd pull back, his eyes almost full of lust, let's take that to the bedroom, m'okay baby ?

before going to bed, jake enjoys slow make outs the most, ending the day together, in each other embrace. even if he can sleep well on his own, and further more sleeping early, he enjoys staying up until you finish your routine, waiting to have his nightly kisses, making his sleep better. so he would take it as slow as possible, enjoying and tasting you the most that he can. i never want you out of my life baby. love you so much baby, he would whisper in the dark. as his sleeps would take over, he'd be the on ending the kisses as much as it hurts him, so he would place one last peck on your lip, smiling thru it, still thanking you for your existence next to him and then pulls your head closer to his chest, good night baby, i can no wait to wake up w you in my arms again.

SOMEONE ASKED ME FOR COLOURING TIPS AND I DELETED MY ANSWER DRAFT BY ACCIDENT IM SORYYYY

But i still wanna try to give some tips that i use (i hope you'll see this post, anon!!!!). Im not really good at explaining things and im not a professional artist but ill try ma best💥

Before I start a new painting, I make a few sketches of exactly what I want to draw. This helps me to find the right composition and color scheme

The environment an object or character is in has a great effect on its color. In the first pic, Spammy looks ok, but if we warm up the colors a bit, it looks like he's really standing in that room. You can also experiment with layer modes to achieve the color u need. Sometimes I crop the main background color over the character and poke layer modes until Im like "this shit looks good, lets go". But ofс you'd better find the colors yourself, it's useful for learning color theory

I also swept the main background color into the reflexes and shadows on the object. Like on this pipis

Buuut you can also use bright contrasting colors. This gives a funky, stylized look to the artwork

And about white color in my arts. I think that there is no pure white color in nature . White color and close to it will always have its unique shade depending on the lighting. So, I prefer to mute the white color in my works.

You can also try filling the area with some color and over paint it with light color, mixing colors together. This is a new technique for me, I usually put colors on the bare sketch, but I like it<)

And also coloring on the sketch layer. I'm not trying to lighten it or anything. It gives a kind of dirty look to the work and a kind of unfinished feeling. I don't like to lick my drawings to a shine. Plus bc of the brush I use, it gives me extra shadows. I prefer to use the standard marker brushes and some brushes I found on clip studio paint assets. These are mostly brushes that mix colors so i use them to add different strokes to my work

Bámi facial esxpressions

The sheep-descended sophonts again (previously named Auks but my english-animal-name-knowledge-lacking butt did not google it and now I have to change it because that already is an animal. Anyways). Their primary way of expressing themselves non-verbally is mostly using their whole body, and of course, the scent glands. Scent glands of the Bám (located near the eyes) can be extremely everted, or bent in several ways like the human lips. This diagram only coveres the basics. Báms are very emotionaly oriented fellows neurologicaly speaking and they are able to feel a myriad of feelings us humans can't even comprehend.

Here's an story idea that might make some peoples heart get crushed from sadness and hapiness.

Clark receives a message of help from an alien race from another world, he must go, but the problem is that the journey from Earth to this planet is five months, Clark doesn't know if he should go, but Lois encourages him to go.

He keeps promising her that he would return, during these five months Lois tries to carry on with her life normally, however, due to her father having run away, she feels terrified that Clark will not return, but this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Before he left , Clark and Lois had one last intimate moment, if you know what I mean ;).

She starts to feel nauseous, a little more emotional, hungrier and when she realizes that, she decides to use a test, and is shocked when it turns out positive, as she thought it was impossible for her and Clark to have a baby, since they were different species.

She soon reveals this to Clark's parents, to Jimmy and Kara who soon support her and help her prepare everything for the baby, but one thing that still worried Lois was Clark's reaction, fearing that he didn't want to be with her anymore because of the baby.

Five months have passed and Clark returns, eager to see Lois. During his return he meets Kara, who acts strangely towards him. He asks what's wrong, but Kra just tells him to talk to Lois.

He arrives at their house and finds her but the strange thing is that he can hear two heartbeats in the place and before he could do anything, he saw Lois wearing a maternal outfit with a five-month-old belly bump.

Wheel of the Year: Yule

Yuletide, Yule, Christmas… one of the biggest festivals in the wheel of the year and definitely one of the most popular ones, as it got adapted into Christianity and popularized as the "day of the birth of Christ". It is now known, observed and celebrated all over the world, be the country Christian or not. Even if Christmas is celebrated the 25th of December, Yule os more commonly celebrated between the 21st and the 23rd December on the North Hemisphere and between the 21st and the 23rd of June in the Southern Hemiphere.

Yule comes right after Samhain and before Imbolc. While pagan in origin, Christianity took from it, adapted it and turned into the majour festival of this religion.This is also one of the easiest to celebrate big time without needing to come out of the broom closet: a lot of the imagery of Christmas actually mirrors that from Yule, in fact.

Yule is the celebration of the winter solstice. Yule celebrates midwinter, and the longest night of the year. What this signifies is that the reign of darkness is over, the tipping point has been passed, and the reign of light is coming back. From now on, days are becoming warmer and warmer, sunnier and sunnier and life will start to come back to Earth, as winter winds down.

We don't know exactly where the origin of the word "yule" comes from, but it is suspected it might come from Old Norse, the word “jól", which meant a celebratory feast. The festival also has ties to Germanic and Scandinavian gods such as Odin, and it also played a part on their folklore.

Yule is a time for rejoicing. It mainly celebrates letting go of the old, accounting for the past year, cleaning house and making room for the new, shiny coming things. It's a time for rebirth, new beginnings and hope. It is also a time for reflection and introspection, to make sure not to repeat the same mistakes of the past year, and to try to steer ourselves in the good direction. It is also a time to chase away the darkness through joy and merriment: ignoring that the harvests have ended and our reserves are almost empty, let's celebrate and make merry for the good times are coming soon!

It doesn't matter where you live: Christmas, and therefore Yule, has become so popularized and commercialized that you probably can celebrate it inside your home and outside the house for the entire month of December. In most countries of the world illuminations, jingles, people dressed up as something or other and all sorts of shiny decorations will help you get in the holiday spirit. This is also one of the strong suits of Yule: you can still celebrate as much as you want, deck the halls and get into the holiday spirit… while still being extremely subtle about the fact that you practice witchcraft !

If you'd like to celebrate Yule, here you have a short list of options available to you. Some might be more adecuate to solitary practice, others might be best if you are part of a coven.Some allow you to get all materialistic about it, while others will help you keep in touch with the more traditional, raw side of the festival. Whichever you choose, make sure to enjoy yourself and look forward to the hope and hapiness this event brings us !

-Candles: Ever wondered why candles feature so prominently in Christmas decor ? Well, it's part of an old tradition where candles and fires were lit for Yule, both to light up the longest, darkest night of the year and to honour the Sun and call it home. Both candles and fire are incredibly popular motifs for Yule and many traditions include them, so if you can, light some: battery candles will do as well !

-Decorate: It's pretty evident that decorating is also a big theme in Yule. Christmas has become extremely commercial and big, lavish, expensive decorations have become the go-to; but just like with all the other festivals you don't need to break the bank to bring that holiday spirit home. Buying commercial decorations is not the only way to deck the halls: crafting your own, or collecting seasonal items such as pinecones, holly or mistletoe from nature are all fantastic options. Just make sure you are not damaging any plants or taking any protected species (holly is endangered in many countries) and you are golden !

-Crafting: Yule celebrates the longest night of the year, which means up until then the hours of night, of dark and of cold have been too long to go outside. This makes Yule a great festival to sit by the bonfire (or by candlelight) crafting decorations. Sew, crochet, felt, draw or create in any way that pleases you both to decorate your house and to offer gifts to your loved ones. I would recommend creating an evergreen wreath: they are so simple to make and so elegant !

-Bake: Like I mentioned just before, the days before Yule are too dark and cold to be out of the house much. The harvest season has also ended, so fresh ingredients are lacking: baking with dry ingredients such as flour served a double purpose back in the day (cleaning up the pantry from non-perishables that would sustain you through winter and starting the oven that would light up the entire house). Cookies and biscuits are traditional, but so are breads, pies, cakes, pizza… highly caloric, sugary food is favoured as well: you need to put on some weight to be able to deal with the freezing winter temperatures!

-Feast: "Feast", "festival"… close enough. You can't have a festival without feasting, and what are you going to do, not eat all those delicious cookies you just baked ? To really honour the season and bring some good luck and prosperity your way, make sure to share that feast with your loved ones or to do some charity !

-Share: While Christianity and Christmas might have popularized the "charity" aspect of Yule, it was always important to share during this season: those neighbours that weren't as fortunate in the past year might be running low on supplies and ingredients. Therefore, sharing is extremely important during Yule if you have extra, no matter what shape it takes: share your abundance by inviting your loved ones to a feast, give lovely gifts to those around you, share your time and joy by volunteering at a soup kitchen…

-Divination: Yule is close enough to the end of the year that you might be wondering what it has in store for you. Using a pendulum, scrying, tarot, tasseomancy… any way is good to discover what the future might hold and to look forward to it.

-Deep cleansing: Yule is a moment of saying goodbye to the past and honouring rebirth and new beginnings, so it is a particularly auspicious moment to make inventory, clean house and make room for the new and coming. This might be more metaphorical (looking back in the past year and letting go of what didn't serve you) or more physical, like really cleaning your house. Cleanse yourself and your house and don't forget to protect yourself to keep the wacky energies at bay.

-Shadow work: Yule is a particularly good moment for self reflection, for looking into the past and for being honest with ourselves. Shadow work will help you come to terms with the most painful parts of your past and of yourself, make a clean break with them and, if you can't let them go, make strides to integrate them into yourself and to start the healing process.

-Honouring: Yule marks the day where the Sun, the brightness and the warmth start to return to us. It would be a good moment to honour the Sun, honour your deities, honour yourself and everything and all that have allowed you to come to this place. Meditation, self reflection, gratefulness, offerings to your deities… all things that help you feel connected to yourself and the world, and everything that makes you feel grateful and hopeful for the future, works here.

-Decorate your altar: We can't have a festival without decorating your altar ! Add colours, motifs and themes that remind you of the season to your altar. It's also a good option to add offerings to any deities you might work with.

65. One Small Kiss, Pulling Away For An Instant, Then Devouring Each Other

Yuri heard Claude long before he spoke.

He could always tell when Claude was approaching. Balthus tended to swim like he was fighting the water itself. Constance swam more delicately, hiding from the sun's rays as best she could. Yuri could never hear Hapi approaching and had come to accept that, if it was too quiet, she was probably swimming up behind him.

Claude, though, had a distinctive way of moving through the ocean that Yuri couldn't explain. It used to soothe Yuri to hear the tiny changes in the environment that meant Claude was near. This time, Yuri had to stop himself tensing as that peculiar swish of Claude's tail grew louder.

"There you are," Claude greeted.

"Claude," Yuri returned.

A hand brushed the middle of Yuri's back, just underneath his long hair. "My guess is you had a rough week?"

"Something like that."

"Sorry I wasn't around. Anything I can do to help?"

Yuri looked over his shoulder at Claude, taking in his earnest expression and not letting it fool him for a second. "Perhaps there is."

Spinning around, Yuri shoved Claude against a boulder, one hand holding Claude in place and the other pressing his abalone dagger to Claude's neck. Claude pushed on Yuri's chest in a halfhearted way-- but froze under Yuri's intense glare.

"How long were you going to deceive me?" Yuri growled.

Claude had the nerve to furrow his brows. "Deceive you?"

"You lead me to believe you were just some innocent merman from the northeast seas. Just a humble traveler exploring the Fódlan oceans." Yuri gave a low, humorless chuckle. "I was fine playing along, you know. Despite my best efforts, I'd come to see you as one of my people."

"I am, Yuri." Claude reached up for Yuri's wrist, but Yuri elbowed him away. "What did I do to--"

"I followed you the other day."

That single declaration changed Claude's entire demeanor. He stiffened, puzzled expression dropping into a resolute grimace, and he stopped all feeble attempts of getting away. His gold tail edged in brown pressed against the rock in subservience as he came to the correct conclusion that there was no hiding from Yuri anymore.

"That wasn't how I wanted you to find out." Claude's voice was more measured now. No longer was he talking to his lover, but to his attacker.

Yuri sneered. "Did you intend for me to find out at all?" He leaned in closer, forcing himself to glare into those kelp green eyes. "You're a monster. Half merfolk, half human." He spat the last word.

"I prefer half Fódlani, half Almyran."

"Same thing."

"It's not."

"Monster," Yuri repeated. "What was your plan? Spy on us for the humans? Embed yourself in the community until we were ripe for the taking?"

"Would you believe me if I said my plan was peace?"

Yuri barked empty laughter, letting the tip of his dagger mark a dot of blood on Claude's neck. "Impossible. They are them, and we are us." His eyes narrowed. "And you are neither. Much as you pretend you could be both."

Instead of flinching away from the dagger, Claude leaned forward, causing the dot to become a line across his dark skin. It was Yuri who flinched and pulled it back. "I transform into a human around the time of the new moon," Claude stated. "I've lived as a human. I've lived as a merman. I could tell you everything each side hates about the other-- but I can also tell you how alike we are." A sudden smile took his face. "My teacher, Nader, loves a drink and a good arm wrestling match almost as much as Balthus."

Damn Claude and his infectious smiles. Yuri had to consciously hold his own back. "Why should I believe a word you say?"

"I thought..." Trailing off, Claude leaned forward again, swallowed, tried again, "I thought, if anyone would, it would be you."

Yuri let the dagger fall as Claude finally surged out of his loose hold. At first their lips brushed together so lightly that Yuri thought that would be it. That this truly was a ruse and Claude would snatch up his dagger while Yuri was distracted.

Then Claude pressed against Yuri again, and Yuri opened for him. He let Claude-- a half human, a mostly monster, one of his people-- guide the slow drag of their mouths. Claude's tail-- a tail that didn't exist for a few nights every month-- bumped against Yuri's and Yuri found himself wanting to ask a hundred more questions.

But first there was this kiss. All the rest could come after. Yuri wound his arms around Claude's neck and tried not to think about the gills there closing up, tried not to think about that tongue speaking the human language-- and tried only to think of Claude and his crazy, foolhardy, plausible peace.

Last movie/TV show: The Grand Budapest Hotel

Such a fun movie! Watched it with my parents on New Years Eve. Such a perfect mix of silly and serious. Sometimes you laugh until you can't breath, others you feel like curling up into a ball and just cry. It is a story in a story in a story in a story. So, to break it down is: we start with a girl reading a book by the bust of the author in a graveyard. We then listen to the author talking about an interview that is basically the book. We then switch to the younger self of the author (Jude Law) when he conducts the interview with the owner of the Grand Budapest Hotel. We then switch to the time when the owner was just a page/footboy (Tony Revelori) and telling the story of Gustave (Ralph Fiennes)- the concierge and later former owner of the Hotel. We then ping pong between the interview and the story told by the owner. It is told in five chapters. (Rant end!)

Sweet/spicy/savory: Leaning more to savory.

But also like sweet a lot! Spicy is my nemesis. I am so white i can't handel most spices lol. But I'm training my body to handel more!

Relationship status: Very, Very single

I am wishing/hoping for a relationship, though it is not my priority. In the mean time, I'm very hapy with my fictonal crushes lol

Besides that it is 'google scholar' (for my term paper) and 'star wars rebels manag read online'. Have yet to watch the show but I do like the manga version of it.

Current obsession: There is alot!

Arslan Senki (obviusly), my AU, Horizon Forbidden West (RIP Lance Reddick), Otoyomegatrai (a new chapter just came out!), Haikyuu... and this is only like the tip of the iceberg for reading/video game stuff! But if I write down more we would be here for an eternity lol. I also have discovered book nooks and have started to build one since last summer (had to stop due to space for our christmas tree).

Last book: Wolkenschloss (A castle in the Sky) by Kerstin Gier

Have given up on it rather early on. I'm just no longer in the targeted audience and I notice that while reading which sadly sours the reading experience. I just cringe at some things that I might have liked when I was around 15 or so. But before that I finished reading the first book of the Temeraire series - His Majesty's Dragon and have the next two volumes waiting for me. I had started it back in high school and wanted to read it again. It is so much fun and it's baiscally - what if there were dragons around the time Napoleon waged his wars (so in the 19th century) and there were riders for them and we focus on one (1) british navy soldier who got (unwillingly) adopted by a dragon freshly hetched from it's egg. And maybe, just maybe, said dragon might be a very rare one! (Also another point for the Temeraire series is that the author is Naomi Novik - one of the co-founders of our beloved and one and only AO3!)

Looking forward to: being done with my term paper

I have a lot of problems with it as it is my first one and I have no idea what I'm doing (I have talked with my tutoress and asked others about it but I just have to figure shit out as I go). I just want to create art and continue my AUs! I want to post my first chapter! maaaaan we need more hours in the day for just relaxing and hobbies
