A LONG AWAITED EXPANSION

As certain contestants finished the My Immortal challenge shockingly early, we have decided to add to the summer's competition!

We are therefore introducing the summer 2024 writing competition parts 2 and 3!

Part 2: I'm So Smart

In the spirit of a trend in the 2000's where a small set of characters the author liked, such as the protagonist and his (slightly less smart so he's not threatened) love interest, or the protagonists and his cool (but slightly less smart so he's not threatened) friends, and so on. The rest of the world was filled with awed peasants who were shocked, shocked I tell you, to learn the earth’s not flat (our protagonist brilliantly demonstrates it’s not, using the sun and math).

The smart protagonist, his foolish, sheep-like peers, and the world at large are characterized by a few characteristics your fic should have:

He is always happy to explain how, exactly, you’re wrong

STEM trumps humanities. You don’t have to know anything about physics yourself, but your protagonist proved Einstein was right about time dilation when he was six and you should have that in a throwaway line.

The world is solved by logic: for everything there is a logical explanation

Characters are easily defeated/awed/wowed by science. No character fails to be persuaded by Logic. If they pretend to be, they’re a tool and should be treated as such.

Part 3: Welcome to my sex dungeon, I have fifty of them and they’re decorated in shades of gray

Inspired by a certain author, write a deeply erotic and provocative AU.

Optional requirements:

A sex contract. You may or may not have a scene dedicated to the characters discussing terms and legalities.

A complete disregard for canon. Harry Potter is a 40-year-old Italian plumber named Mario, and Draco is Luigi, they must fend off that seductive Luna Lovegood-Princess Peach fusion’s seductive wiles so they can be with each other.

However, to counteract the above, characters must retain ‘vaguepost’ style basic traits about their character such that everyone obviously knows who the character is even if he’s now called Henry Pitter. Drake has platinum blonde hair and sneers a lot for some reason. Henry has messy hair and glasses.

A reverent respect for and yet scandalous treatment of common modern sex toys/sexual acts such as dildos, handcuffs, roleplaying, and so on and so forth. These are considered very shocking and novel items/ideas that no one in their lives has ever thought of before.

hi there! thank you for these, it was fun coming up with them so i'm hoping it'll be just as much fun to answer them.

[ indigo ] when did you first start writing / roleplaying?

oh god, that's such a long time ago. i think i initially started writing some short stories in elementary school ( which, in hindsight, dealt with a lot of topics a young kid probably should not write about ― but also, that explains so much ) and i published my first fanfic online in 2011. probably every bit as bad as first fanfics can be: some random illogical crossover between harry potter and lord of the rings (my two biggest obsessions at the time) with a self-insert oc thrown it.

anyway, for several years i kept up with fanfiction until i made the switch from writing in german to writing in english which happened about the same time i first ventured into the world of roleplay. if i remember correctly i made my first blog here in either 2017 or 2018 and i've been stuck on this site since.

also, this question just made me realize i've been publishing my writing online for more than half my life.

[ bronze ] if you were stranded on a deserted island, which three things would you want to have with you?

firstly, my phone. the battery would probably run out really quick and i doubt i'd be able to call anyone but on the off chance i do, i want my phone with me just to call someone to get me out of there. and if i don't, at least i'll have some entertainment until the battery dies.

the second item i'd want is a pan. not only can i use it as a potential weapon but also i can use it to cook stuff ... if i manage to find anything edible and am able to somehow make a fire.

and thirdly, i think i'd take a really big blanket. just in case it gets cold. and i could use it to build myself a tent. or as a pillow.

I’ve been watching . . .

I feel in love with this series after being introduced to it via @toastyglow​ stream.  Feeling curious and a little bit burned out by Critical Role, I gave this series a try and I’ve binged all of their seasons and enjoying every second.

Not only are the players improv actors who play their characters so well, but the DM, Brennan is an excellent story teller, knows the game very well, and isn’t afraid to raise the stakes for the players. 

Usually, we get an RPing episode where the characters interact with the world, learn new information from NPCs, or perform investigations.  Most of it is then just simply Roleplaying as the story unfolds, adding background and flavor to their characters.  Then we get a combat episode where the characters are in open combat with initiative order, health bars, and awesome sets with minis.   

What I absolutely love most about Dimension 20 is that it’s not your run of the mill D&D 5e campaign.  Each season, takes the game and puts a different spin on the world so it’s not your typical Medieval Fantasy setting.  Also, each campaign lasts 6 to 18 episodes of complete stories who it’s not a HUGE investment of time to enjoy a season.  Each season is it’s own story, cast of characters, and setting, so you can pick a season and enjoy! 

The first season puts the characters in highschool with a 80′s to 90′s flavor.  The characters enrolled in an adventuring academy complete with dwarves, elves, and other creatures that could be found in the D&D books.  Each of the characters start out as archetypal teenagers in high school from the jock, the bad girl, the smart girl, and the religious girl, but each have their own background and development.  

The party (dubbed The Bad Kids) catch wind of girls disappearing from their school and take on a quest to find the missing girls and solve the mystery of who is behind the strange happenings around the school.  

This campaign (or six episode Side Quest) does take place in a Medieval Fantasy setting, but instead of the players being a group of heroes, they are playing villains!  And not just any villains, but the lieutenants of an evil lord set to take over the world . . .that is until a couple of halflings tosses his crown into a volcano and destroys him.  Now the players must scramble to figure out what to do next!

Yep, it’s a parody of Lord of the Rings, a sort of what if scenario from the viewpoint of the villains who gearing up to destroy the forces of good until something unforeseen happens.  Best of all, Matt Mercer is a guest player!

The characters are all fun versions of villains from the monster master, the traitorous prince, the evil lord’s paramour, and the wraithlike knight who overcome their differences to protect their evil lands.  

This one was fun.  Taking place in New York City, there’s secret magical world that normal people can’t see.  Like Harry Potter with Muggles and Wizards or Nevermore.  The players take on a group of New Yorkers: a fairy broadway singer, a depressed alcoholic hair stylist, a drug dealing sorcerer, a Paladin firefighter, a hospital nurse who is a cleric, and a sewer rat.  All of then band together to protect New York City from those who would abuse the magical world for their own ends.  

Another short campaign.  If the Borrowers meet Ocean 11, then you would get Tiny Heist.  A group of little ‘people’ (fairies, lost toys, and sentient bugs), team up to form a heist to steal the priceless roll of quarters from the leader of a criminal organization.  However, they discover darker things are afoot.

It’s a different type of campaign where the focus isn’t so much on open combat, but trying to work together to steal information, move people and tools into place while keeping the target distracted.  The sets are so creative using household items and toys giving a wonderful immersion with the minis.    

The latest, and has possible become my favorite, is Crown of Candy.  Think Candy Land meets Game of Thrones.  

The players take on the roles of a royal family of a candy theme kingdom in the most creative alternate world I have ever seen for a D&D campaign.  Like GoT, there’s factions (fruit, veggies, dairy, and meat people) and the Candy Royal family is getting swept up into power struggle when the Emperor becomes ill.

Lavina, from the book of thieves

Lavina is a monster from one of monstrox’s army and one that he especially made himself.

She is a 4’7 monster, who looks and thinks like the age of a 12 year old, her looks shouldn’t fool you because she’s a talented monster in terms of persuasion, manipulation,strategy,stealth and flexibility. Monstrox made her that way because he needed someone to be able to steal goods in a secret and non attention grabbing manner.

Her abilities include being able to slip past peoples grips, she has this weird sweat that could make her slippery incase she gets caught by guards, she has lanky and long arms and fingers to be able to grasp whatever item she wanted to take, has long lanky but strong legs to run,and she is light and quick on her feet.

Her book comes with monsters who are absolutely filled with greed, small goblin like creatures that can steal and store items in their bodies (think of that one creature in that one Harry Potter movie)

Lavina May seem like the perfect theif but she has some cons, she is still a child and would sometimes have temper issues, she’s really boastful to other monsters and is quite hardheaded.she is also spoiled by whiparella and lavaria which could make things a little bit worse.

Speaking of which, she also sees the older monsters as family, which she loves and she’d like to make them proud too.

Lavina belongs to me, she is a really old original character that I used to roleplay as, I still love her to this day even though she was made when I was just 12/13. I am sixteen now.)

BIRTHDATE: 20th March 1965

DEATHDATE: tw torture 28th July 1997. Charity was personally killed by Lord Voldemort following a prolonged period of torture after she had been kidnapped by Death Eaters not long after the end of the school year. Her death was never made public.

GENDER, PRONOUNS, and SEXUALITY: Cis!female, she/her pronouns, bisexual. Her sexuality has never been something that she’s hidden, having been publicly involved with both men and women. She’s never cared what people have to say about it - as far as she’s concerned it’s no one’s business other than her own.

BLOOD STATUS: Half-blood

HOUSE ALUMNI: Ravenclaw. The hat did briefly consider placing Charity in Gryffindor, but her curiosity and thirst for knowledge ultimately won out.

OCCUPATION: Returned. Prior to this, Charity spent four years as the Muggle Studies Professor at Hogwarts, and before that she was working in Misuse of Muggle Artefacts

CHARACTER BACKGROUND:

POSTBELLUM

Confusion was the first thing that Charity had felt upon waking. She could feel rough stone against her back and as her eyes came back into focus she could see that she was no longer in Malfoy Manor. The space resembled neither the dank, low walls of the wine cellar that had been fashioned into cells, nor did it resemble the imperial coldness of the dining hall. That was when the panic set in. Where had she been taken now? The last thing she remembered was pleading towards Severus Snape’s impassive form as the jeers and cackles of the Death Eaters rang throughout the marble hall. She didn’t believe the Unspeakables when they first approached and explained the curious circumstances surrounding her return. Believing them to be Death Eaters, she summoned what strength she had and kicked and scratched, desperate to get away. It just didn’t make sense. Coming back from the dead was something reserved for muggle fiction - it wasn’t actually possible. But yet here she was, and the Unspeakables were insistent. She answered their questions distractedly; the cogs in her head were too busy turning over the situation to care too much about what was being asked of her. Just how was this possible? Sure, inferi were possible, but that was lightyears from what she was. Having grown up largely in the muggle world, the inability to use magic bothered her little - especially when there were more pressing matters. After all, doing things the muggle way had always been her default. Whilst she had grown used to doing certain things with magic, readjusting to doing them without magic was a minor inconvenience at worst. There was one name amongst her fellow returned that truly set her blood boiling, even more than the other Death Eaters. Whilst she wasn’t sure it was reciprocated, she had considered Severus Snape a friend once, when they had been colleagues. She hadn’t wanted to believe it when she had heard that he had been the one to kill the headmaster, Charity had always wanted to believe the best in people. But those final moments at the manor had broken any lingering faith she may have had in the dour man. The rest of the returned Death Eaters could fester away in Azkaban - it was what they deserved - but in her mind Severus Snape didn’t deserve a second chance. Once her trust had been broken, it was near impossible to regain; something that had only been heightened in her new perspective on life. Justice was needed and she would see to it that justice was indeed taken on all of them.

PERSONALITY

Ever curious, Charity loved getting to the bottom of how things worked. Her parents had always championed this, encouraging their daughter to never shy away from asking questions. Books, puzzles and various children’s science kits had occupied her free hours as a child, and she delighted in getting to the bottom of a mystery. There were few sweeter feelings than those felt in those moments she cracked the codes. Charity was loyal to a fault, willing to go above and beyond for those she cared about, even if that meant getting herself into trouble. If a friend needed help, she would give them the shirt off her own back, and if they needed a place to stay? Well, Charity would have the spare room in her flat ready quicker than they could say Bowtruckle. She was a firm believer in treating people as you wished to be treated, and would never back down at a perceived injustice. Of course, this got her into trouble at school more than once, with Charity often ending up in detention over going toe-to-toe with pureblood supremacists. They weren’t any more special than anyone else for coming from a long line of wixen, and Charity could never understand why they would believe that - a more inclusive society could only benefit everyone. There was so much that could be learned from the muggles that could only improve the world they lived in. It was something that only grew stronger within her as she grew older, and she did her best to impress it upon the students who took her class at Hogwarts, especially after Voldemort returned. A gregarious soul, she had always been one to get stuck right in, treating new acquaintances as if she had known them all her life. Of an evening she could have been typically found in the Leaky Cauldron or the Three Broomsticks with a beer in hand, unwilling to let the looming shadows of war affect her day to day life. BRIEF OVERVIEW OF FAMILY

Born into a cadet branch of the Rowle family, Margot Rowle had never quite fit in to what was expected of her. Warm and indulgent, no one had been surprised when she had been sorted into Hufflepuff, though it marked a first for a house full of Slytherins and Ravenclaws. Her school years were hardly remarkable though she did well in all her classes, and following graduation she joined the Muggle Liaison Office. A few years in she was assigned to a case in Wales, a dragon had been spotted and causing trouble near a mine in Tonypandy. The last thing she had expected when she had arrived in the area was to fall in love, yet fall in love she did. After a whirlwind romance that led to her being cast out from her pureblood family, Margot married Owain Burbage and settled into a muggle life among the verdant valleys she now called home. First came Rhodri, born a year after Margot and Owain’s marriage, then Charity two years later, and finally Morwenna followed along four years later. The Burbage household was a happy one, constantly full of friends and family. Whilst she largely lived like a muggle, Margot made no secret of her origins, telling her children stories of Hogwarts as bedtime stories. Charity had been the only one of the children to show any signs of magic as a child, and neither Margot or Owain had been surprised when the owl had tapped at the kitchen window the morning of Charity’s eleventh birthday. This didn’t change anything, she was still treated just the same as her other siblings. Returning home for the holidays, she never struggled to fit back in rhythm with the rest of the family - it often felt as if she had never left at all.

HISTORY

Upon graduating from Hogwarts, Charity returned home to Wales for a brief spell. With so many ideas and options for a career swirling about her head she didn’t know what her next steps should be. After several lengthy conversations with her mother, she decided to take a position within the Misuse of Muggle Artefacts Office. It wasn’t the best job around, but it provided her with a steady salary whilst she figured out what it was she really wanted to, and having grown up surrounded by muggles there were few who were quite as suited to working with muggle items as she was. It was only supposed to be for a year or two, but that quickly turned into eight long years. Charity finally quit in 1991, and decided to spend the next two years in the muggle world, working various small jobs and settling in East London. It was by chance that she had seen the position advertised in the Daily Prophet when visiting her parents. Teaching had never been something she had ever really considered, but something within her told her it was the right path to forge ahead on. Recalling the inaccurate Muggle Studies lessons of her teenage years, she proceeded to overhaul the curriculum, with a particular focus on muggle achievements and areas that had no direct equivalent in the magical world. She loved her work, knowing that this was where she belonged. Her classes only grew more outspoken as the war crept up on them, determined to dismantle the prejudices held by many of the students. If she couldn’t save the current generation she was a part of, she would do what was within her means to insure that future generations would be different.

-Frenemies with a M kingpin and again my cop character. They were as close as brothers when they were young and same as the above they grew apart due to their life decisions and now are almost at each other's throat. This is strictly platonic/antagonistic.

- Bromance with another childhood friend. This one is more like the little bro of the group and is always getting himself into trouble but he is the first one to jump in when they need help. He is kinda of a mooch since he always fucks up and ends up crashing at the first couch he can get access to. Strictly platonic.

-Forbidden Romance Yep you guessed it, for my cop character again. She is a rich girl that is used to getting her way and is the classical spoiled brat trope. They were an item for a while but she had to break up with him because her family wouldn't approve of her dating a nobody. Fast foward sometime and he becomes somebody in the city when a video of him stopping a bank robbery is leaked. The media goes all over him and he gets so overwhelmed that he has to hire a PA. That is where she comes back in his life, her family needs her to convince him to support them publicly during the elections but they still forbid the relationship.

Aside from this I also got a few ideas we could try on 1x1! I'm pretty open to running plots and I can play either M or F characters!

So, im a baby when it comes to witchy stuff, BUT I am learning! I promise I am! I was/am raised by VERY Christian parents who are very against Wicca or anything not Christian and are also very homophobic. My question is: Do you have any ideas where I am able to continue this practice in secret? I have more stuff than intended and am unable to set up any sort of proper altar or properly learn stuff. There's only so much that watching YouTube and researching can do, without experience. Thanks😊

Hey there!

I grew up with very strict Christian parents too, so I feel for you there. I didn’t really believe that witchcraft was real either, but I still got grounded for roleplaying Harry Potter. It struck me as so odd because obviously no one can cast visual spells out of pieces of wood and cause explosions and all that sort of stuff. So why was it so wrong to pretend that was real? But when you’re 12 you don’t really understand the actual connotations of witchcraft, and no one really wanted to inform me either.

That being said, I didn’t start practicing non Harry Potter witchcraft until I was already moved out of the house and in college, so for that reason I can’t give you definitive fool-proof advice. But, I would like to sort out some of the more practical ideas here.

 -- You do not need an altar in order to practice witchcraft. You don’t really need any specific tools either. All you need is yourself. So in that sense, your practice can always be secretive.

Tools, are, however very helpful for beginners in terms of having something tangible to work with, so I understand the desire for these things.

The other barrier here is, what kind of witchcraft have you been researching? Wicca is very specific in practice, whereas it does generally require tools to perform rituals (although you can get creative about these things like using less obviously witchy items to represent the elements). Traditional witchcraft deals a lot with spirit work and particularly different tools and methods, and general witchcraft can go just about any direction. So giving you really specific advice is a little bit hard without context.

In general though, your secrecy is going to be dependent on your personal safety first. If you run the risk of being caught and punished, if you run the risk of being abandoned, if you run the risk of your parents undermining your personal privacy - I would really think twice before deciding to practice under their roof. It sucks, but these are things that can be out of your control and unfair to your personal beliefs. You may not be able to challenge these things with outside support.

Swords, wands and other baubles - Magic systems and their real-life counterparts

Hey there, traveler!

Here we are (if even a day or so late) for our last stop in this magic trilogy. Three, such a wonderful number, isn’t it? I apologize for the delay, sadly this exam period sucked me up like quicksand and I got no time yesterday to write. But let that not deter us from today’s topic: the various systems of magic, both in literature and their real-life counterparts.

Let’s start with my favorite: magic items. We all know the trope of the wizard’s wand, the world slaying sword or the wishing lamp, and these varied applications of a common concept shows just how much potential rests with this system.

As far as I could research, there are a couple of sources for this trope predating the classic fantasy stories.

There’s a scene in The Lord of the Rings when our heroes are departing Lothlórien and they receive capes from the elves as parting gift. When Sam asks if they are magical, an elf replies that they are “just elven”. The earliest representations of magical objects followed this mentality – magical stuff was magical because of their origin. This is really obvious in Arthurian legend with Excalibur, the magical sword given to Arthur by the Fairy of the Lake or other Gaelic and Celtic tales like Cu Chulainn and his spear Gae Bolg, or Thor’s hammer, the legendary Mjölnir. These weapons were given to their wielder by a magical race, be it fairies or dwarves, and as such, they became magical by nature. This then followed into the stories such as the Dragon Rider swords in Eragon (forged by elves), the Elder Wand in Harry Potter (given by death itself, although it is a special case because it is an object that’s MORE magical than it’s “ordinary” magic counterparts) or the Daedric Artifacts in the Elder Scrolls games (you knew Skyrim would pop up somehow, you knew…).

Another interesting source is a tribal belief called animancy that popped up all over the world from pre-Columbus America, Africa, and Eurasia. Animancy, from the latin “anima” meaning soul or spirit, holds that a person’s spirit can rest in an object dear to them after their death so it can and will manifest their will through this object or anyone who holds it. There are folk tales from Europe’s Transylvania region (yes, the Dracula place) about a belt once belonging to a shepherd that drove his killers to madness until they confessed their foul deed. We can see this mainly in horror fiction – cursed trinkets haunted by the ghost of a long-dead murderer, witch, or a victim of the previous two.

There is much, much more to this trope, but I could write a short draft about this topic only. As a last note, I’d like to mention our WIP (because humility is my greatest weakness). In the world of Seiran, magical objects are the only way of utilizing magic, so they are more valuable than the magicians (or as we call them mejais) themselves. These trinkets were created by an ancient civilization that met its end thousands of years ago and left behind these shiny things. When a mejai concentrates, they can deter the wind-like force of magic to swipe through a certain trinket, creating a unique effect – which means the number of trinkets you have is the number of spells you can use. Now, you could try and force the magic into your body to act as a channel, but that’s how you end up like one of our characters – crippled and broken.

Sometimes it is not magical objects which limit the power of a magician, but an inner force, the so-called “mana”. This is actually not a new thing, the whole concept was made up by ancient Polynesians. Mana is the spiritual force resting in everyone and everything, just waiting to be utilized by someone who can wield it. Its main use was to heal and protect, but the Maori people for example thought a tribe that has a certain type of mana holds authority over a piece of land, so it was used to divide territory as well.

This belief has a few variations about what exactly holds mana, but most sources agree that it can be transferred and it isn’t distributed evenly – some people have more than others. It can also deplete and proliferate, making it even more like how we see it in games, although there were no potions or crystals to replenish it. A large amount of mana was attributed to wisdom and wise elders of the community, and evil acts were believed to rid you of it. This ebb and flow made it a kind of resource, and as such, roleplaying games and other media plucked it from the idea tree and embed it into pop-culture as the numerical representation of magic power.

And lastly, there are the cases where nothing controls the power a magician can wield. This is mostly a fiction concept as it is really hard to show that you can break the world in two in reality, but in literature, it is a fascinating dilemma. In Brian McCallan’s The powder mage, there are three types of magic users, one being the all-powerful Privileged. They can manipulate elements with a twitch of their fingers and rip anyone to shreds in an instant. They wield nearly limitless power and they’re unbeatable in a one-on-one fight. However, they have a limited range on their abilities, far less the titular powder mages (who are basically supersoldiers who can control explosions and bullets), so they feel inferior to them in open, large scale battles when they have the opportunity to stay out of range and just shoot them. This dynamic elevates the feats of Taniel, character who is known for killing Privileged mages very efficiently. I think it is a great opportunity to step up the badassery of a hero who manages to outsmart these powerhouse magicians. The bigger the prey, the greater the victory.

So that’s it, travelers. A few examples of where the most common magic tropes come from, a glimpse at how were are utilizing it and a personal example of my favorite magic system. Hey! So before I start writing and creating, I thought I'd get some common questions answered and out of the way! If you are concerned about your request or are unsure of its content, please first check this post before directly messaging me.

Q: What kinds of requests do you fill?

A: I will fill almost any type of request! But here are some specific options with set structures and examples.

Headcanon Requests (bulleted, length depending on ask, ex: "Can I get headcanons for Requested Character with a short girlfriend?")

Scenario Requests (bulleted, LDOA, ex: "Can I get a scenario for if Requested Ship were getting married?")

Drabble Requests (prose, LDOA, ex: "Can I request a drabble about RC being worried when their darling is sick?")

Playlist Requests (list of songs, 1-5 song limit, ex: "Do you have 4 songs for a jealous RC?")

Graphic Requests (edit style, 1-4 images, ex: "Could you make a graphic for yandere RC with this item or quote?")

Requests that don't specify will be answered with a bulleted list or possibly a short paragraph. There may be times I'm willing to fill some requests but not others due to time constraints, but that doesn't mean I won't ever fill them!

Fandom requests involving AUs and crossovers are welcome (ex: "Headcanons of how yandere Naruto in a wild west AU?" or "Headcanons about what would happen if yandere Ten and yandere Crowley fell for the same person?"), as are original requests based on existing media (ex: "Can I get headcanons about a popular girl type who has a Breakfast Club experience and ends up going yandere for the criminal?" or "Can you write a drabble about a yandere whose story is like this music video?").

Q: What characters do you write for?

A: I'll write for any character that I am familiar with, with a few exceptions for characters I'm aware of but uncomfortable with. To get started, here's a list of fandoms that I have a solid handle on!

As I implied above, I am also happy to write for original characters. Whether that means you telling me about your own OCs, or me creating my own characters for you down the line, either is great.

I will NOT be writing RPF or RPS. I do not approve of real person shipping and real person fiction makes me uncomfortable - if that's what you're looking for, there are a huge number of other blogs that will cater to your needs directly. Which leads me into...

Prohibited Requests, and Non-Yandere Content

Q: Will you fill every request you get?

A: I'll fill requests that interest me and that I feel comfortable posting, and that will probably be most of them! I am really excited to get started. But I still reserve the right to refuse a prompt - I'm writing for free, so no one is entitled to have their ask filled. If I choose to deny your prompt, I will answer privately and, if the issue is with content, update the blog so it's made clear that the type of prompt is not taken.

Q: What is and isn't allowed to be requested?

A: To be honest, most stuff is allowed and some stuff isn't. There's a lot of ground to cover here, so I've divided it based on the nature of the concern.

Q: Do you accept NSFW/SFW requests?

A: I'll do NS and SFW work, but I've got more experience with SFW content. This doesn't mean I do it exclusively, just that I won't think to go NS unless you mention it. Specify for NS and it'll be included happily!

Q: Do you accept violent requests?

Violence against non-SO characters and dub-con is okay always, as is situational or over-the-top violence, even murder, involving SOs (ex: "the yandere and their darling are soldiers on opposite sides of the war" or "the yandere saws off their darling's legs so they have to carry them everywhere").

However, there is some tricky area with violent fantasies. If I think the content strays too close to serious physical domestic abuse, then I'll likely deny the request. This is partially why I prefer requests that get violent to focus on non-SO targets, so if it doesn't matter to you, that's almost guaranteed to get a response.

Non-con I can mention and discuss in headcanon posts and possibly prompt lists, but I will not be writing drabbles or scenarios for non-con prompts.

Q: Do you accept kink requests?

A: It will depend on the type and whether I feel morally and psychologically comfortable with it. For example, hypnosis, size kink, gender stuffing, BDSM, roleplay, etc., are all currently accepted because they don't seem to affect me in a negative way. I am willing to do ships for cousins and step family, as well. However, I will not under any circumstances deal with r*ceplay, p*dophilia, fetishizing of trans people or people of color, or inc*stplay, and I will not be doing ship work for anyone more closely related than cousins, including but not limited to siblings, parents (blood or adopted), or aunts and uncles. None of this is negotiable. I am willing to consider AUs where two characters aren't family, or non romantic yandere behavior between family, but even then, the request's on thin ice. Anything super unhygienic or illness related is probably something I won't be interested in not as a rule or for moral reasons but just because it can exacerbate my anxiety and OCD. I also do not fill prompts related to minors at all, be it explicit/adult/sexual content or otherwise. Requests for characters who are minors will have them aged up unless otherwise specified - in which case you will promptly be blocked.

Q: Can I request a dark imagine that is not yandere related?

A: Of course! Just make sure to be specific about what you want from it.

Q: Can I request a ship or character imagine that isn't yandere or dark?

A: Yes, though I won't promise it'll be what you're looking for. I fall towards horror, thriller, and angst when I write, regardless of my intentions.

Q: Can I request something that's not ship or character imagine related?

A: Sure, I'd be honored, but again, I don't promise to fulfill every request. This blog is intended to be stress relief, self indulgence.

How to Make a Request

Q: How do I contact you for requests?

A: Asks, messages, replies on my original posts, and even more casual things like tagging me in yandere or writing related posts are all great ways to interact with me!

Q: When do you accept requests?

A: Requests will be opened or closed depending on how busy I am and whether I'm caught up on them.

Currently, requests are closed. However, I've decided that requests are reopened on my days off. The days should be listed in my bio.

Q: Do you accept anonymous requests?

A: Yes, I do! I also will not publish asks from users unless the user specifically clarifies that they are okay with it, just in case the user sent the ask from their blog on accident. User asks that aren't specified as safe to publish will be responded to privately when the request is filled.

Q: How will I know my request is filled?

A: As stated above, anonymous asks and user asks clarified as safe to publish will be published with a response. User asks without any clarification will be responded to privately. Anonymous asks asking for privacy for any reason will not be published. Messages will also get a reply. Users who send requests that are kept private will not be tagged unless you ask me to. Users with published asks will always be tagged in the final post, but it is totally okay to ask me to change or erase the tag! Other than this, checking for posts is up to the requester.

Q: What about kink or otherkin blogs?

A: Honestly, I don't know much about either community. As of now, I'm fine with interaction. I'd ask that I not receive any kin related requests, because I am not familiar with the concept, community, and issues accompanying. Kinks can be requested but as stated above, are not guaranteed to be filled. Please don't bring discourse or discourse related requests here. I am not equipped to or interested in getting involved. If that changes, I have a main and other side blogs. This blog will never be a place for it.

Q: Are you okay if we interact with you or send you asks and messages that aren't requests?

A: Absolutely! I would love to talk with you. I am always interested in discussing any of the topics covered on this blog, or anything else for that matter! I pride myself on trying to be not just nice, but kind, and hopefully that comes through in every interaction. However, I'll expect the same courtesy from anyone who'd reach out to me, or use my posts to communicate to others for that matter. Anyone who doesn't will be, you guessed it, blocked. Anyone who pursues it further, yeah, will be reported.

Q: You have a lot of rules about requests and interaction, but you don't seem to post much and you aren't very active. Is this all just awkward and formal overkill, or is there a point?

A: I've explained all of this clearly, in as an accessible way as I can think of, because I want to eliminate the potential for drama, confusion, and other misunderstandings.

Online communities tend to be chock-full of plenty and I do not, nor does anyone who visits, need another reason to be tired. I'm not detailing all of this upfront because I expect to be very popular, or because I like listening to myself talk for paragraphs on end. I don't want a theoretical lack of information to be used to hurt either myself or others, though some of it shouldn't have to be spelled out in the first place.

But considering how ridiculously easy it is to misinterpret each other online, and how much of a disadvantage neuroatypical people like myself are when things are left just implicit rather than made what you could argue as exhaustingly explicit, I figured a crazy FAQ was a small price to pay for a peaceful environment.

TLDR: it certainly might be overkill, but that doesn't mean there is no point to it.

Q: What should requesters and followers call you anyways?

A: I'm fine with my username. If you're going for a different vibe, Red or Darlings sounds nice too. If you can come up with something catchier, feel free to try!

On that note, I also may be slow going when it comes to requests. All I can do is promise to put a lot of thought into my replies, even though speed is not guaranteed. Any other questions can be asked directly, and I would be more than happy to answer them!

WHAT  INSPIRED  YOU  TO  TAKE  ON  THIS  MUSE :  i was going through some rough things and was dealing with instability at home so decided to watch a bootleg of wicked, remembering how seeing the show had made me feel happy. i had a personal blog practically dedicated to nessarose already and had stumbled across some roleplay blogs previously. i decided to just make one and see where it took me. i just really connected to her in a way i still can’t describe. 

WHAT  ARE  YOUR  FAVORITE  ASPECTS  OF  YOUR  CURRENT  MUSE : oh god, there’s so much. i love her character arc so so much. to me, she’s just such an interesting character because her actions are so realistic and she isn’t perfect. i like that her choices are easy to analyse and fit so well with her development. you can ( or at least i can ) take one, small, meaningless thing and write a three-page meta on it. for nessarose, there’s just a lot to explore and i just love it a lot.

WHAT’S  YOUR  BIGGEST  INSPIRATION  WHEN  IT  COMES  TO  WRITING : so many things ! i can like, look at a picture and BOOM muse. sometimes though, it takes a bit more and i have to like watch a video or something. i tend to write when i’m absolutely exhausted, which isn’t great -- but whatever.

FAVORITE  TYPES  OF  THREADS :  i love threads that a partner and i like . . . really plot out. the ones that are long and developed -- almost where like the other person’s reply isn’t a surprise, if you know what i mean. i just really like the longer ones where you can learn so much about your character and sit there writing like, paragraph upon paragraph and it never seems forced. 

BIGGEST  STRUGGLE  IN  REGARDS  TO  YOUR  CURRENT  MUSE :  she is very difficult to write correctly, in my opinion. reading my old replies is almost like pulling teeth because they all just seem so wrong to me. it’s hard to mix the right level of her propriety and youthful nature as well as really KNOW what her true response would be. nessa’s moods are very fickle, which makes some replies hard to write because i sit there wondering what she would do. i also find it hard to describe her sometimes. she tends to talk with her hands a lot and, for me, it can be hard to write out what i’m picturing. of course, the typical also applies here ; it was my first blog on tumblr. if you’ve been here for a while, you’ve probably noticed the drastic changes that have gone on here ( and hopefully seen my etiquette improve too ).
