Do you ever say dream about crossover fics with Harry Potter?

My personal favorite is Greek god mythology because like the deathly hollows could arguably been made by Thanatos (Greek god of death) and like reader could be his child (only child) and a demigod/dess

mmmmm yes, that sounds tasty. I've also loved Marauders x like, apocalypse/The Walking Dead style universe? I really like reading Mae's poly!marauders apocalypse au's (mostly cuz I love the hurt/comfort with high stakes vibes)

Actually, my original plan for CBBH was inspired by Manacled which was essentially a Handmaids Tale/Harry Potter crossover haha (would have made the entire story way darker)

1. how many works do you have on ao3? A measly 31. But in my defense, I’m ancient, so I have posted at least twice as many on LiveJournal back in the day.

2. what’s your total ao3 word count? 162,236  

3. how many fandoms have you written for and what are they? Six are represented on AO3, including a mix of various RPF fandoms, Hannibal, Law and Order: SVU, A Series of Unfortunate Events, and recently Loki. But back in my teenage years I wrote fic in the Lord of the Rings fandom, Harry Potter, and as I got older even more diverse RPF, mostly centered around US political media and, uh... Top Gear. Look, I have a past, okay, leave me alone.

5. do you respond to comments? why or why not? Almost always. If you took the time to comment, I will take the time to say thank you. Especially when I get the really juicy comments, like those that quote favourite lines and stuff. I love those comments, they’re so helpful!

6. what’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending? I’m really bad at following through on angst, I wrap that shit up with a vaguely happy ending. That said, Control You is pretty bad. It’s also locked, because I lock RPF religiously. kill them; kill them with fire is technically still a WIP, so it doesn’t count, although it’s some of the angstiest fic I’ve written.

11. have you ever had a fic translated? I’ve received requests for a couple of fics to be translated into Russian. I gave my permission, but I have no idea if they followed through with it.

12. have you ever co-written a fic before? Yes. Way back when I was 18 I had a 42 year old BFF from California who shared my brand of absurd humour and we co-wrote a sprawling 20K+ Pundit RPF comedy zombie AU, where we took turns writing the chapters as we went along, playing off what the other person had written in the previous chapter. I was a great experience, like the fic equivalent of improv comedy groups. An entire story based on ‘yes, and...’ as a concept.

13. what’s your all-time favorite ship? I can’t possibly answer that question, I’m a bit of a whore in this respect. I mix and match. Although judging from my AO3 account it’s ChillyWilly and Barisi, and it’s true that I love those ships.

14. what’s a wip that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will? kill them; kill them with fire probably. It’s a ASOUE Zombie AU with stand-alone chapters focusing on different characters in different locations, but in a vaguely chronological order. Can you tell that I adore zombie AUs? Anyway, I was very proud of this one, because this particular zombie apocalypse is totally “realistic” in-universe. It takes an existing killer-fungus danger and replaces ‘certain death’ being the result of infection with ‘zombies’ being the result. So yes, it’s The Last of Us-style “zombies”. I actually stole the terminology from there as well, because I couldn’t be bothered with creating too much lore. I never care about the actual zombie horror anyway, I care about the human reaction to a deadly crisis. 

15. what are your writing strengths? A writer I admired very much in ye olden days once told me that I was good at blending genres and moods organically, in those day it was combinations of action, humour, and smut. She then asked me, me, for advice on a fic. I still think about that every single time I feel down.

16. what are your writing weaknesses? Definitely a tendency for overly detailed, flowery, self-indulgently elaborate prose. I spent years forcing myself to use a plain ‘said’ more often, because God knows I struggled with the concept from the beginning. And commas. So many commas. I often joke that Ernest Hemingway would fucking deck me if he was alive and reading my stuff. Oscar Wilde would you rather discuss writing with? Case closed.

17. what are your thoughts on writing dialogue in another language? I think it’s fine in controlled doses, especially if you consult native speakers to confirm that google translate isn’t about to make you look really silly to native speakers of the language in question.

18. what was the first fandom you ever wrote for? Lord of the Rings, I think? At least in English. I was 14 when the first film came out, so it was around then. It was really bad. English is my second language, and my grammar... left something to be desired. Okay, technically I wrote fic for The Hobbit first, because our teacher was pretty cool when it came to assigning various writing challenges, and in this case he made us all write fanfic that should be a twist on the pretty anticlimactic (according to him) ending of the book. I proceeded to literally kill off half the dwarves in a gruesome Smaug-fight. Very indiscriminately, I might add. Completely random. Just piling up dead, scorched dwarves for shits and giggles.

19. what’s your favorite fic you’ve ever written? Okay, bear with me here, but I’m just really proud of Young Police Cadet Bottoms for Busty Blonde. Probably the smuttiest smut I’ve ever written. I enjoyed every second of the writing process, I had a wonderful time, and it lives up to its title in terms of balls to the wall PWP insanity.  A Guide to Recognizing Your Ghosts and Unfortunate Living Arrangements are also up there, because I’m still a Chilton fangirl at heart.

Hello! I’m a 21+ writer looking for a few fandoms and pairings, my preferred character is in bold! 👀🧡

I am advanced-literate and write multi-paragraph to novella style replies, usually longer for things like starters and transitional scenes and shorter on dialogue heavy replies. I am an Active partner at the moment and only looking for the same.

I love slow burn stories and enjoy angst a lot. I’m good with action, darker themes and themes such as mpreg but also fluff. I have no limits so throw anything my way. Let’s discuss some of the themes that could come up in advance. I am happy to write side characters and explore relationships outside of the main pairing as I have a lot of love for the other characters in these fandoms. I’m good with OOC conversations, for plotting and such, like sharing memes and photos and just buzzing together over the story!

Loki/Mobius

My idea for them is as follows

• Messing with the timeline slightly, what if Mobius was sent back to the moment of his abduction by the TVA? And in classic Loki style, what if he decided that the sane thing to do was stalk Mobius on Earth. I’m picturing Professor Mobius? I’m also definitely picturing single-dad Mobius because of how good he was with the kid at the church.

• Anyway. Loki figures he’ll watch for a few days. Check Mobius is happy. Flash forward to a week later and he’s getting a member of the faculty fired, framing himself as a substitute and introducing himself to Mobius at work.

• Office romance, re-falling in love, slow burn… all leading to angst when the TVA inevitably reappears and suddenly Loki and Mobius find themselves on the run (with a toddler). Perhaps they end up on Asgard? We can tweak the timeline all we want.

Kingsman

• Eggsy/Harry

I have an idea for an Apocalypse AU - maybe with Harry being from an affluent, gated community run by Arthur who refuses to let anyone new in. Eggsy from a scrappy, rundown group made up of the characters from the estate (Dean, Michelle etc). They could meet on a run and have to spend the night together trapped, negotiating a plan out and divvying up supplies. Perhaps the second meeting could also be a coincidence, but enough of one to make them feel the spark between them.

The Umbrella Academy

Klaus/Diego

- Open to anything with these two, canon divergent through to AU’s. 60’s story where they land together and need to make a life of their own? Pushing Daisies AU, with Detective Diego working with Klaus to solve murders, pre-S1 story where they stayed close… Anything and everything.

Klaus/Ben

- Open to lovely canon Ben or a darker Sparrow Ben, depending on what you feel up for writing! Twisting the story to where Ben doesn’t die? 60’s story where they do something other than starting a cult? Post S2 tale where Ben is returned to life and suddenly has to deal with feelings for Klaus / being back in the land of the living. AU’s aplenty. Give me your thoughts!

Klaus/Five

- I’ve got a bit of an idea for a couple of plots.

- One starts as smut and develops as we go on. I’m thinking, at some point in the timeline, we find them taking a break. Five is stuck in this body and that comes with being overwhelmingly turned on. I’d love for him to go to Klaus and for them to come to a no-strings-attached arrangement where Five can experiment all he wants until he’s bored. But, as time goes on, it becomes less business and he is certainly not getting bored. Cue him realising he’s got feelings.

- Another is more of an antsy time-loop story. With the Brellies having settled down, Klaus decides he’s quite fine with ending things and takes his own life (no immortality ofc) and Five is the one that finds him. Of course he responds by going back in time. Why wouldn’t he? He thinks that’s it but when it happens again a week later, he realises simply blinking isn’t the solution and he has to take a more hands on approach by spending time with Klaus. He starts calculating data on how to fix things each time and, along the way, makes the mistake of falling for Klaus.

- Apocalypse AU where Klaus wakes up in the middle of Five burying him

- 60s AU where they land together and Five realises just how much time they might have on their hands - the two of them finding shelter, creating something of a happy life together that neither are keen to have torn apart. I’m just imagining them falling in love in the closest thing to a happy home and domestic bliss any of them have ever had. Where, for a while, their problems aren’t the end of the world as they become each others world. Five can be physically aged up a little for this, if you like!

Stranger Things

- Steve Harrington/Jim Hopper

I’m thinking it starts with Hopper recruiting Steve as a babysitter for El when Hop is working late and he’s anxious to leave her alone and Steve proving himself good with her and capable. Eventually hooking up one night. Starting something hidden.

Bit of an Oddball

What about AUs which don't focus on or possibly even HAVE magic in them? This could be crossovers or fusion fics? or just straight AUs where the world is different! Example 1: Harry and Hermione in love in a cyberpunk style future where Harry is a cybernetically enhanced warrior and Hermione is his cyberneticist who's constantly patching him up and helping him take the fight to the evil corporations ruling Britain in the future? Example 2: Battlestar Galactica Fusion fic? Hermione is a brilliant scientist who survived the Cylon Holocaust. Harry a brave fighter jock! Together they change/improve the refugee fleet's odds of survival! (Bonus: Luna is an oracle who survived the apocalypse). The sky is the limit! And while some may ask what the point of doing something so AU is when they could just write something original. Don't let people tell you what you should and should not write! If you want to go full original go for it, but diversifying the HP fandom's content is not a bad thing either!

I’m currently in the middle of writing a TASM Peter/Harry fic themed on this song! It’s an angsty “i love you but you love someone else and probably hate me so i can never have you” but secretly… it’s requited love. Isn’t that silly.

Allison/Lydia feels,,, ouch. I love them so much, but this is a Super Angsty part of my zombie au where Lydia just can’t get over Allison, the lyrics inspire a good part of it.

I wrote a TMR Sonya/Harriet fic based on this song! They’re hopeless romantics who deserve a perfect life in the Safe Haven and it fits them so well.

It’s inspired a Young Royals fic where Wilhelm and Simon go their separate ways after the fight. Simon has a successful career in music, and is asked to come to Hillerska comes back years later to give a special performance. He finds that Wille’s changed.

5. Achilles Come Down - Gang of Youths

A secret project 👀 Post-apocalypse, the main character is reunited with his best friend, and they’re trying to work their relationship out while navigating the broken world.
