Dec. 24th 2023 - I can’t believe it, but I beat Octopath Traveller 2. This was hands down my favourite JRPG of the year and I’m so immensely overwhelmed I beat it. I’m sad it’s over, but the journey was worth it. This might be my personal GOTY! Best Christmas Eve in years.

Not gonna lie, I love these HD-2D remakes of older games. I feel like they've given pixel art new life and that they make older games all the more visually accessible while preserving some of their original spirit.

On top of that, I LOVE that they look like little dioramas. So cute!

I knew playable Zelda wouldn't be enough. I totally called that they'd change the gameplay style completely to "justify" playing as her. But I don't have any evidence that I totally called it, so now it looks like I'm bitching for the sake of bitching!

Playing as Zelda on its own doesn't end sexism Nintendo. Especially when you go out of your way to showcase that she can't fight the same way the boy can.

Compare that to Erdrick.

She's gonna wield Swords, and Axes, and heavy armor, and kick just as much ass as that boy version of her from the Boy Dimension ever could!

Because this is how you do a female protagonist!

Playable Zelda was doomed from the start because Nintendo gonna Nintendo. (And if you give me enough time, I'll probably find a way to blame Skyward Sword for it too!)

Playable Zelda was never going to be enough. We need Lady Link!

Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store on November 14, Square Enix announced.

Square Enix has announced Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam). It will launch in 2025.

Following the release of Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake on November 14, 2024, Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake will continue the classic RPG trilogy’s narrative, offering players two adventures to undertake in Dragon Quest I and Dragon Quest II. Chronologically, Dragon Quest I and Dragon Quest II follow the events of Dragon Quest III.

this is hilarious because he says this like SE was held at gunpoint by fans to stretch a 50 hours ps1 game into 3 separate 50 hours games

literally noone wanted ff7 remade over 10 years in 3 separate games but now that it exists people eat it up bc they like the quality of the game (and it turned out to not actually be a remake at all but a weird re-telling alternate extended universe spin off but that's another story)

i dont care to have a remake of ff6, the game was perfectly good the way it was on snes and we need to stop this stupid remake and remaster craze over making the original games accessible; but "it has too many characters and too much content" is probably the silliest and most hilarious reason of all possible reasons against a remake
