The fact that rap/hip-hop has always been stereotyped as a “lazy,” form of art is rooted in racism. It’s literally poetry but whenever people say shit like “um, I don’t care for it,” and “I never liked it/don’t get it/ don’t listen to it,” and they’re not black, it already shows the kind of person that you are lmfao. You don’t even have to be a huge fan but this kind of rhetoric is typically bread from antiblack sentiments and your readiness to automatically dismiss the entire genre as a whole as a valid art form. It’s strange that you don’t care to listen to music from rappers/Hip-Hop artists. “They all rap about the same stuff-“ and “they sexualize women,” as if there aren’t a million other artists out there who don’t do either of those things within the same genre. That’s an ugly excuse. But we’re supposed to fucking know who cave town is or care about someone who is as generic and bland as Taylor swift who doesn’t stand for anything but a fat check. Hip-Hop is more than just an art form. It’s a culture in itself that represents the joy, AND suffering that Black people have used for decades to finally be able to use our voices and uplift our people amidst all of our hardships and daily life struggles. Black people don’t have anything to prove to people who are just now fucking learning who fucking KENDRICK LAMAR of all artists, is. He’s a Fucking Pulitzer award winner, bro. Are you serious.
First of all, happy birthday! I hope you are having a great time and eating lots of cake.
I really like your artworks, if I could buy you a print I would, but alas, the student life doesn't allow such luxuries
I would love to see your process when rendering artworks and paintings and the like.
Would you be so kind as to share a speedpainting with us the common folk any time im the future?
My best regards,
Anon
Awww thank you so much, Anon!! I had a wonderful day :)
As for the speedpaints, I only have timelapses (without close-ups and canvas mirroring\rotation) but I still think they are kinda fun to watch! I picked out a bunch and left them unedited with all my artistic craziness on record💅💅💅 will post them one by one some other time, now let's get to it!!
Till this day, I believe this is my favourite artwork, and with that said... looking back at it my first thought was that I am insane. The lines. Oh god the lines. Every day I wish I'd get as swallowed up and utterly possessed by the process as then. Somewhere closer to the middle you will see that I'm writing a signature, that was actually because I thought I am almost finished. Who could've guessed...
Sudden jumps to another work (like on 1:47) is a common occurrence for me, I tend to work at multiple projects at a time, and sometimes it's just so happens that they are even on the same canvas, oops//// you will see quite a bit of this happening in other timelapses too
The funniest part in my opinion are the moments of complete stillness. The timer is going, the music is on, but for solid 10 seconds I have no Idea what am I doing or where am I doing it because looking from afar literally nothing changes💋
It is also worth noting that it's a rare moment where I have no problem with Sebastian's face AT ALL, usually it takes about three to five tries and makes me question my life choices
I need the people who look at posts talking about Wyll's treatment in both the actual game and especially the fandom and respond with "but i don't like him and I think he's boring" to know that shutting the fuck up is 100% the better option 100% of the time. Him being the only origin character to not have at last 10 hours of content and the existence of mods that literally whitewash him and his dad - among everything else wrong with how Wyll is treated - are not suddenly okay because you, personally, as an individual, don't find him interesting, and your personal individual feelings about him are irrelevant to the issues surrounding his treatment in the bg3 community at large, so like. Stop barging in with your unwanted, unhelpful opinion
post s4 steddie fic where eddie, finally free of high school, realises he doesn’t know who he is without the rigid cliches he’s defined himself by his whole life. he doesn’t know who he is if he’s not performing and loudly declaring himself to be a freak just to desperately grapple for attention and respect.
eddie who, like steve, realises it’s all bullshit.
eddie, who’s jealous that steve so easily understands who he is and how he fits into his life, regardless of any jokes other people make at his expense. who accepts people wholeheartedly, despite the fact that cliches would have them hate each other.
steve, who helps teach eddie how to be himself, regardless of the ‘munson doctrine’ and what other people would define him as. who teaches eddie that being a ‘freak’ doesn’t actually define him, and he can find and enjoy interests outside of what society dictates he can.
eddie, who gets into sports, and enjoys drama, and music, and tv shows that teenaged him would’ve mocked and bullied him for years ago. eddie who grows and changes as he gets older, and isn’t constantly trapped in his performance of ‘the school drug-dealing freak’.
So I went to the wiki page for the henghill Bullet & Brain mission of 2.2 looking for some dialogue I had missed and
a) I found something incredibly tasty that slotted into some other thoughts I'd been having, more on that on another day, and
b) I saw this super fun little trivia at the bottom, which!
I knew Penacony characters like Boothill took a lot of inspirations from old movies, but I didn't realize it was even in his and Dan Heng's relationship, that's so cool!!
It fits them very well, it's such a fun reference. "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" was an old buddy Western film (from 1969- nice) about a pair of outlaws. Butch Cassidy was the leader of a gang, and described as clever, affable, and talkative. Meanwhile, his closest companion, the Sundance Kid, was known as a man of few words.
Cassidy's original birth name was much more plain, but similar to Boothill, he took on a new moniker when he became an outlaw. "Cassidy" had been the last name of his beloved mentor, who taught him how to shoot and ride. And Sundance Kid was known as he was because Sundance was the name of his hometown, and it was the only place that had ever managed to catch and jail him, back when he'd been younger (also similar to Dan Heng, but ouch).
These two stick together like glue throughout the length of the film- through Cassidy's leadership of the gang being challenged, through a train robbery gone wrong, through being pursued by mercenaries, and even through fleeing to Bolivia and trying to start over together.
I don't want to say too much more, since the mission title is referencing one specific movie that I've never seen. I kinda wanna watch it now, though, just to see the inspiration that went into Boothill and Dan Heng and how they get along. I just think it's really sweet that these two were literally made to be the best of bros, how lovely is that. 💕
I’m really interested in how Edward feels about the whole twin reveal.
While Edward acts like a protective older brother who doesn’t want Ciel with his sister he trusts Ciel’s judgement and his ability to handle guard dog duties.
When Lizzy went missing Ciel is the one he went to because despite what he says he respects OCiel. This respect was built after watching how well he handled earldom and all the responsibilities that came with it. RCiel didn’t earn that respect.
There’s not a lot of information on how Edward and RCiels relationship was but what we do know is that RCiel helped contribute to Lizzy’s biggest insecurity.
Edward was aware of Lizzys obsession with appearing cute for her fiancé and didn’t take kindly to someone making his sister feel insecure. After the Campania Arc Lizzy revealed her swordsmanship to OCiel who accepted her as she is.
It was after this arc that Edward really started respecting OCiel as an Earl and trusting him with his sisters well-being. In his eyes he was no longer the little boy who found strong woman “scary”.
While Edward was in disbelief over the RCiel reveal and the fact that OCiel had been lying about his identity this whole time it’s not clear on whose side he’s on.
Though not outright opposing RCiel or going out of his way to help OCiel, he still hasn’t shown who he really supports. He’s dealt with bizarre dolls on the Campania and at Weston so he won’t be excited to hear there’s another reanimated corpse walking around. And the twin that earned his respect and has protected his sister was OCiel. Right now his focus is on helping Lizzy through her emotional turmoil but when that’s done what will he do?
Will he be able to look past the lying OCiel has been doing or will he honor RCiels rightful place as earl
