it really broke my heart seeing Lewis so alone after the race, the way he sat down waiting for his turn, while Carlando had their teams there. He looked so tired and defeted, thanks to the Ferrari and Mclaren who congratulated him.

Singapore 2023, Sunday.

What an intense race, one of the best of the season so far. It was so close from start to finish, those last ten laps had you on your toes in anticipation. Leg bouncing up and down as you stared at the screen, Carlos, Lando, George and Lewis were stuck in a DRS train all for P1, George couldn’t overtake Lando no matter what he did. It’s under a lap left when the younger Mercedes driver drives straight into the barrier, your eyes open in shock, everyone is surprised, disappointment on everyone's faces in the Mercedes garage. Frustrated mechanics and just about everyone.

Your eyes don’t leave the screen, eyes on your boyfriend, but as the three round the last turn, he couldn’t overtake Lando, but he’s P3. you’re happy for him, so happy. You feel bad for George, he’s been doing amazing through the race, he was doing so good all weekend, and to end it like this breaks your heart. However Lewis is your number one concern, and he made it to podium after so long, and you knew given one more lap he could’ve overtaken Lando for P2.

Despite having one podium win, the mood in the garage was sombre. Everyone is so upset about George, you bit your lip as you waited for them to go to the barrier under the podium to meet their winning driver but no one made an effort to go and see him, despite them all going to congratulate George the day before when he qualified second.

You’ve been going to races for years, having been with Lewis a long time and every week you had free of work you were in the country he’s in supporting him every chance, sometimes you’d be there for a day or two, never missing an opportunity to be by his side, and you aren’t about to start now. So after two minutes you decided to just leave the garage, ignoring everyone, you couldn’t even see Toto anywhere.

Already Ferrari and Mcalren were at the barriers so you’d have to fight your way to the front. The heat had you a little sweaty as you squeezed yourself between the orange and red dressed people around you, trying to be heard as you moved but your voice fell onto deaf ears under the loud sounds and talking. Lucky for you Fred Vasseur Ferrari’s principal saw you struggling, the older man had talked to you multiple times, he and Lewis are on good terms and talk from time to time. He gestures for his team to let you through, and thankfully you make it to the front.

“God! Thank you so much.” You breathe out, huffing, you’re thankful you decided to have your hair in an updo today, feeling the heat from the crowd around you add to the heat of Singapore.

“It’s okay, it looked like you were about to die in there.” He joked, as you both turned to the front, Lewis was waiting to get weighted, your eyes stayed on him once they found him with a smile on your face as you answered Fred.

“Felt like it.” He laughs and pats your back, you look around the barrier for a moment, once Lewis is on the scale(?). No sign of a single Mercedes team member.

“What are you looking for?” Fred asks, also looking around.

“Mercedes.” was all you said, the man realises the absence of the team which is very odd. Lewis has been the forefront of the team for years, whether it’s a win or not, they should be cheering for him.

Lewis takes off his helmet and balaclava, he doesn't see you though. “Lewis!”

You call but your voice get drowned in the other sounds around you, your saving grace comes in Lando, he was walking to the wait for his interview when he saw and heard you, patting Lewis on his arm to get his attention, he points at you. The moment he sees you, you smile so wide at him.

Lewis also smiles, seeing you, when he got out of the car and couldn’t spot you or any of his team he felt crushed, he’s tired the race has been hard and having kept it together the whole race, doing better than the last few weeks, it definitely dampened his mood not seeing his team here for him. Seeing you now however brought him happiness that he’s grateful for.

Walking you to you, the driver wraps his arms around you, sweat and all, you holding as close as you could through the barrier, you close your eyes getting a tad bit emotional.

“I’m so proud of you my love, you did so great.” Kissing his cheek. Around you Ferrari cheered for you, making you laugh and pull back a little, but Lewis wasn’t ready to let you go yet, he held your arms in his.

“I couldn’t see you when I came in.” He tells you, you give him a sad smile.

“Fred rescued me, was fighting my way through to get to the front.” You say with a small giggle, he once again pulls you in for a second hug. “I love you so much Lewis.”

“I love you too… Thank you for always being here for me.” Lewis says low enough so only you could hear him.

“Always, I’ll always be here for you, you can count on that.” You run your hand up and down his back, hearing Lando do his interview. “It’s your turn soon, I’ll be waiting for you after the podiums.”

Lewis pulls back and quickly picks your lips, it’s rare that he shows PDA but in that moment he couldn’t help it. Lewis is a private man, and he likes to keep anything beyond the surface about the two of you away from the public eyes, so you know that your feed will be filled with edits and screenshots from your moment.

Watching Lewis on the podium with a proud smile you clap and cheer for him, as if it’s your first time seeing him on a podium, celebrating him as if he won a WDC. you couldn’t wait to get back to the hotel so you’d be alone with him and enjoy the night alone, just the two of you.

Carlos retires in 202x cause he didn't find a seat, everyone had hopes he would come back but he didn't

After a couple of years he is back but as something in McLaren, since Ferrari didn't want anything to do with him anymore and Zak always had the doors open for Carlos.

He doesn't go to a lot of races, mostly stays working in the MTC as a consultant or intern job or any office work

Carlos appears in some marketing videos, as Carlando brings views and watching him and Oscar get extra competitive is always funny

He has a daughter only McLaren crew knows about, Lando is always begging him "This picture of us is so cute! C'mon Carlos let me post it ! No one will know who she is! They will think it's a little fan or maybe one of my nieces!"

The answer is always "No. I want to keep her safe." Still he ask for the pictures so he can save them.

Most times when Lando 'steals her' while Carlos is busy (with his approval) she endup in the care of Oscar, Lando doesn't know what to do when she cries and just pass her over since Oscar calms her down, Oscar who grew up with 3 sisters and knows exactly how to take care of a baby, Oscar who plays and talks with her sweetly but can also tell her no when needed, same Oscar who sometimes can be found inside Carlos office napping with Lando and the little girl on his chest in the kid mat on the corner. (Carlos wakes Lando up first to tell him they will both hear a lot from Andrea for sleeping during work. "Why you never wake Oscar first?" "He sleeps like the dead"

Carlos feels lucky to have both of them, he is a single parent but doesn't think it's fair to leave his baby girl with a nanny all the time. He doesnt bring her everyday, his sister is living near by and suggested to look after her 2 times or more a week "She needs to interact with other kids close to her age." Blanca is right.

His nephew and nieces love his baby girl and it sure helps her learn new stuff

Oscar always point out new things she does and how she is probably copying her cousins "She will be the smartest girl of pre school" the Aussie says while spinning around with her in his arms to a baby tune playing on Oscar's phone while she giggles

And Carlos tries his best to school his expression, tries not to let his gaze focus so much os the Aussies face, he is completely fucked, he has a crush Oscar.

Just Christmassy Things

Ice skating. Y/N loved it. She couldn't get enough. It was a shame she could only go during the winter season, when the mall had the skating rink set up.

She had begged Lando and Oscar to go, but the boys were rather reluctant. They didn't know how to skate and there was a rather large chance they would get pictured or filmed.

But Y/N kept asking and begging, giving them the puppy dog eyes. And how could they say no to their girl.

That was how Lando and Oscar found themselves outside of the skating rink, doing up their skates. Y/N was all ready to go, waiting for their turn on the rink. "Promise you'll help me?" Asked Oscar as he shakily stood on the blade.

Y/N nodded her head. "'Course, Osc. Can't leave you to fall now, can I," she said as she grabbed his hand, pulling him closer.

From the bench, Lando pouted. "What about me?"

Y/N walked over on her skates and kissed him. "Stop being a big baby and use one of the balancing aids," she said against his lips.

Lando and Oscar were right, they were photographed. Thank god the pictures were cute. It was Y/N skating backwards as she held Oscars hands, pulling him along. Lando was practically folded in half as he held Oscars waist and was pulled along behind them.

You how you get some streets and villages that are utterly covered in blinding Christmas lights? With the front lawns decorated to the nines with lights on bushes and plants, light up animals and trees all over the place.

It was gorgeous. And all Lando wanted to do was take his partners.

So, he loaded the both of them into the car with snacks and blankets. Although it got dark early they still went late, with Y/N and Oscar in their fluffiest pyjamas.

Y/N sat in the back of the car, through the windows as they passed the beautiful houses and lights. Oscar looked like s child on Christmas morning as he looked from house to house.

"I can't wait until we get a house of our own," Y/N muttered under her breath.

Lando looked at her through the rearview mirror. "What was that, baby?" He asked, still driving slowly.

"I said I can't wait until we get our own house," she repeated. "And then we can have over the top decorations and the prettiest house in the neighbourhood."

"I can't wait either."

HER hair bathed in champagne began to wet her red jumpsuit, she made a disgusted face. She felt uncomfortable being soaked in the liquid gold but it was worth it. Her first podium in Formula One!

She sighed contently as she walked towards her room with Elvira and James, her pr agent’s assistant, behind her. A bottle of champagne was in her left hand and her phone was pressed against her ear in her right one. A smile covered her lips as she spoke to her parents “¡Enhorabuena, cariño! Lo has hecho muy bien.” Congratulations, darling! You have done it very well.

“Gracias”Her eyes became bright for a moment, she swallowed, preventing more tears from falling. She missed them “I have to go, I have to go change. I still have a few things to do and then we're going to go have dinner and celebrate” Thanks.

“Don't drink too much, eh” Her father's voice sounded amused and mocking, she rolled her eyes but still had a smile on her face.

“Mhmm” She opened her eyes exaggeratedly as she brought the bottle of champagne to her lips.

“The next one is in China, right?” She swallowed the alcohol and wiped her lips with the back of her hand. She looked at her publicist curious about when a cameraman began to walk next to her recording her, Elvira denied, quickening her pace to get closer to her.

“Netflix” The black haired woman whispered in her ear, making her nod and raise her thumb, still clutching the neck of the champagne bottle.

“Eh, yes, mom” She arrived at the motorhome and after smiling at the entire team, who applauded as soon as they saw her, she headed to her driver’s room “I'll be there on May 1st. You're going to see the race, right?”.

"Of course!" She heard her father's exclamation behind her mother's voice.

“Your brother will also be here, maybe we can celebrate his birthday together” She stopped listening to her mother when she opened the door to her room and met her teammate, who soon hit his lips to hers. Her phone fell to the floor from shock.

She tangled her hands in the boy's hair, letting herself go until she realized the situation. She widened her eyes again before she pushed him lightly and quickly closed the door. She bent down to pick up the phone “Hey, yeah, okay, I have to go, mamá. Te quiero, adiós” I love you, bye.

And with that she hung up on her call before locking the door and addressing the boy who was looking at her with an innocent smile on his face.

"What are you doing?!" She looked at him as if two more heads had grown out of him and he laughed approaching her again, this time cornering her against the door. She denied "Charles, someone may come look for me sometime."

He brushed the wet locks from her face and looked at her adoringly, giving her a small smile “I'm sorry, I'm just so happy for you.”

Arabella felt guilty. Before the race they had argued and yet he was there, proud of her and acting like nothing had happened. She bit her bottom lip before pulling her body towards his in a hug.

"I'm sorry," She murmured against the red, champagne-soaked material of his chest. She hid her face even more in his chest when she felt him sigh and caress her hair "I'm sorry for not having talked things over with you before, but it's very difficult for me to talk about my feelings sometimes and when I get angry, I don't think. I’m so sorry”

She felt how he kissed the top of her head and wanted to cry. Seriously, why was he so good to her?.

“It's okay, mon chérie. I understand, but please don't close yourself, okay? It's not good to keep things to yourself”.

She nodded still with her face hidden in his chest and her arms around her body. A comfortable silence reigned in the room, they could hear each other's breathing, also a distant murmur behind the door.

“Not to interrupt, but aren't you going to give third place a kiss?” The comfortable silence was interrupted by the boy earning a laugh from the girl, Charles smiled watching her laugh in her arms.

“Do third places win prizes?” She raised an eyebrow to annoy him, which worked because he started tickling her.

“A podium is something important” He continued with his work of tickling her until his victim began to give in, asking him to stop. One of his hands rested on the wooden door at the height of her head while the other clung to her hip as if she would disappear at any moment.

They looked at each other for a few seconds before his gaze began a zig zag between her eyes and lips.

"I'm proud of you too, Charles," She murmured because she felt that speaking out loud would break the bubble in which both of them had hidden.

The named man smiled widely before raising the hand that was hugging her hip to herjaw and drawing her face to his. In a second his lips had taken over hers and they were both fighting for first place as if they were in a race. He pressed himself closer to her, pressing her even more against her door which drew a moan from her throat, he smiled into the kiss.

Arabella felt guilty. Before the race they had argued and yet he was there, proud of her and acting like nothing had happened. She bit her bottom lip before pulling her body towards his in a hug.

She felt how he kissed the top of her head and wanted to cry. Seriously, why was he so good to her?.

His hands were back again on her hips to hold her and also to assure himself that what was happening was not a dream.

And it wasn't, although an alarm brought them back to reality.

Arabella broke the kiss as soon as she heard the noise, earning a moan of protest from her lover. She looked over her shoulder at the phone she had left on the table on the wall where the door was. She glanced at the watch she wore on her wrist and swore as she stood up from her very comfortable seat.

“Shit, shit, shit, shit” She went to the phone almost running and closed her eyes tightly when she saw the name of her manager on the screen. Picking the call up as she walked across the room, clearing her throat before accepting the call and placing the technological device between her ear and her shoulder “Si?” Yes?.

“¿Por qué tardas tanto? Tienes entrevistas, Bells” The blonde's worried voice quickly entered his ear. She opened the first drawer of the chest of drawers that held the television and began looking for new underwear. Why are you taking so long? You have interviews.

“Si, eh, he tenido que echarme una mini siesta, ya sabes como me pongo cuando bebo champagne” She chuckled, trying to sell the lie. Hands entered her field of vision, she frowned as she saw Charles's hand snooping through her underwear. She slapped him and heard him complain so she wanted to laugh but she was too busy trying to save her own ass. Yeah, uh, I had to take a mini nap, you know how I get when I drink champagne

"Te dije que no bebieras tanto champagne, eso es una mierda” I told you not to drink so much champagne, that's bullshit. She rolled her eyes, closing the drawer, and headed to the bathroom with Charles behind her. She took some towels and placed them near the shower door. "En fin, ya nos emborracharemos como se debe luego. Tienes que estar aquí en menos de diez minutos, B” Well, we'll get properly drunk later. You have to be here in less than ten minutes, B.”

“Okay, adiós, te quiero” Bye, I love you.

“¡Diez mini…!” She cut off the call before taking her hands to the zipper of her jumpsuit to pull it down but she remembered one thing, freezing her movements. She raised an eyebrow, slowly raising her head, meeting a smiling and expectant Charles. Ten minutes...!

“What?”.

“Nothing”.

“You want to get in the shower with me, right?” His green eyes, lighter than hers, lit up and he quickly brought his hands to the neck of his fireproof shirt. The girl’s eyes widened and she raised both hands. “Hey, hey! No, don't even think about it”.

He immediately stopped and, as his hands slowly released themselves from the long neck of his shirt, his brow furrowed. He looked at her worried "I haven't made you uncomfortable, have I? God, forgive me, chérie. I'm still a little drunk”.

She smiled, thinking it was cute that how he cared about her emotional comfort. She took off her shirt revealing her red sports bra and threw it at his face“Another day, Leclerc.”

Removing the shirt from his face he looked at her with his mouth slightly open, a blush quickly making its way to his cheeks as his eyes collided with her full chest. He quickly looked up into her eyes, fighting to keep his gaze there. Arabella wanted to laugh but she held back the laugh that threatened to come out of her throat.

“W-well, I'm leaving” Even with the champagne-soaked shirt in his hands and without stopping looking into her eyes, he was really having a hard time resisting “They'll be looking for me so...”.

"Mmh, see you later" She raised her hand and waved it from side to side in a dismissal before he turned around and crash into the door. The laugh didn't take long to come out of her, although it was camouflaged when she put both hands to her mouth "Oh, God! Are you OK?”.

"Eh, yes, yes" He sighed, massaging her forehead, his face was definitely just as red as the overalls they were both wearing. So fucking awkward, Charles he scolded himself. He put his hand on the knob and opened the door to get out of there as quickly as he could, but not before murmuring a goodbye.

Once alone, Arabella laughed.

“¡ENANA, que has quedado segunda!" She laughed when Carlos's arms wrapped around her waist and lifted her slightly off the ground while he made them spin around. She patted his arm as she laughed. Short one/dwarf, you finished second

"Para, para que sino vomito" She said between laughs and the black-haired man stopped, hugged her tightly before leaving her on the ground. Stop, stop, otherwise I'll throw up.

“Se te ven las bragas, niña”He whispered to he even though he said it spanish. She looked at him in panic before rushing to grab the end of her black dress and pull it down. Sainz stood in front of her trying to block the view of her doing it. Your panties are showing, kid.

“¿Y por culpa de quien, eh?” She glared at him to which he snorted, turning away from her once her wardrobe was properly placed. And who’s fault is that, eh?.

“Speaking in a language that the rest of us don't understand is a very rude thing to do” The only australian complained, approaching them to greet her and she smiled accepting the kiss on her cheek.

Carlos crossed his arms. "You're jealous because we all speak your language, there's nothing special about you."

Ricciardo stuck out his tongue at the other spaniard while Lando let out a moan, letting his head fall against the armrest of the couch where he and George were sitting "Can we go now? I'm hungry”.

Most of the young drivers were waiting at the hotel reception, where they had arranged to go to a famous restaurant in the area to have dinner together in celebration of the fact that both members of the Ferrari team had reached the podium –in reality, that was an excuse so they can spend time together outside of work.

“Max and Charles aren’t here yet” Pierre spoke without raising his gaze from his phone where he was liking photos on instagram “Max was almost ready, I don't know what’s taking him so long”

“Did Charles have much left to do?” All eyes fell on her at Lando's question.

“I don't know, I haven't seen him since we returned to the hotel” She shook her head while shrugging her shoulders.

“Bells” Gasly caught her attention, making her gaze turn to him. He looked at her with both eyebrows raised and a mischievous smile. “Are you going to come party with me after dinner?”.

She opened her mouth but quickly closed it when a ting sounded indicating that the elevator doors had opened. Lando raised both hands toward the sky as he murmured a "Thank you" so she knew the last two pilots had arrived. She couldn't help but feel a little nervous, it was the first time they were going out in public since whatever was going on between them had started and she was afraid that if they drank too much they might not be able to hide it.

“It was time” Norris got up from the couch when they approached the group “What were you doing up there? We've been waiting for years”.

His teammate laughed next to him. “You’re exaggerating.”

She felt a hand on her arm and smiled when she saw the Dutchman's blue eyes, who looked at her mockingly "Congratulations on taking my position."

“Hey, I just did my job” She raised both hands in a sign of innocence and he laughed in agreement.

Gasly clapped, drawing everyone's attention “Okay, let's go, the faster we go, the faster we can go to the club."

“No one wants to party, Pierre” The long-legged brit complained when the frenchman slapped him on the shoulder.

“You will see, man!” And with that he began to walk towards the exit of the hotel, forcing him to go with him while they both discussed whether or not to party after dinner.

Instinctively they stood in pairs as they left the hotel, laughing. Of course, she stayed with Charles behind everyone.

“You look beautiful” She heard his voice next to her, she raised her head to look at him because although she was wearing heels he was still taller than her. He had gotten closer to her, so close that their shoulders were touching with every step they took.

“Thank you. You look handsome too, Leclerc” She looked him up and down, observing her clothing. He was wearing a black sweater with two leather straps that wrapped around each arm, some black skinny jeans, and some vans that matched the jacket he had hanging on his arm. His neck was decorated with necklaces and on his hands were the rings that he always wore along with the bracelets. It wasn't anything out of the ordinary but he still looked gorgeous, the black made his green eyes stand out even more if that was possible.

Without warning he put his free arm around her shoulders and planted a kiss on her temple, surprising her. She looked at him confused, receiving a smile from her in response.

"Relax" He murmured in her ear and she felt her knees tremble, he was playing with fire.

"You all have the address right?" George asked when everyone was in front of the cars. He surveyed them all with his big blue eyes and smiled when they all nodded “Okay, let's go then.”

“Why is he like a father in an airport?” The curly-haired one laughed at his own question being pushed by Russel “Oi!”

They both started fighting like small children to which some began to watch the fight with interest while others rolled their eyes with regret.

“Come oooon”The youngest of the McLaren drivers dragged the 'o' complaining “I'm so hungry”.

"Let’s go then" His teammate gave him a little push and they both got into the black McLaren.

Arabella got rid of Charles's grip and approached the red Ferrari that stood out among the other cars. She opened the passenger door "You're driving."

"Yes, ma'am" He gave her a military salute, approaching her to help her get into the car, but before he could do so, she had already closed the door. He smiled, running his tongue over his lips when he saw her batting her eyelashes behind the window. He began to walk around the car while sighing "Forza Charles, forza."

He was trying so hard to not kiss her in front of their friends, he was really trying but he didn't know how much he was going to be able to last. He felt sorry for himself. Once inside the car he looked at her while the car started. Was it really that being sitting next to him who looked like an excited little girl when the car roared was who made him lose sleep, the desire to eat and, sometimes, the breathing?.

She looked at him with a smile from ear to ear, her eyes shining making her look like the happiest little girl in the world as she heard the engine roar "It's incredible, right?"

Yes, she was and she was worth it.

"AND he said so calmly nothing, just an inchident on the race!" Max's scratchy voice sounded strangely high-pitched thanks to the alcohol he had ingested. The whole table began to laugh at the iconic story of fourteen-year-olds Verstappen and Leclerc.

"It wasn't my problem that you got so angry!" The other involved exclaimed in response, his right hand occupied with a glass of wine while the left was clinging to his teammate's thigh.

"The best of all? The interviewer's strong breathing when he runs for Charles” Lando began to imitate the man's breath by closing his fist by creating a microphone and bringing him closer to Carlos' face “Charles, what happened with, eh, Max?.”

Everyone laughed again and Arabella thanked that the restaurant was almost empty because she didn't want to be scolded. She plunged her spoon into the chocolate brownie and brought it into her mouth, being aware of the look of the Monegasque next to her.

She looked at him squinting her eyes and he left his glass of wine to take a napkin and wipe her face with it.

"You've stained yourself with the syrup" He murmured, releasing her thigh to grab her jaw and be able to get closer to her.

In front of them, Carlos stretched his lips suspiciously. He watched as he grabbed her and how she let herself be guided by him, he saw how he didn’t look away from her lips and how she took the opportunity to analyze his face.

Friends don't look at each other like that.

He opened his eyes wide before moving from one side to the other without knowing what to do, without thinking too much more he elbowed the curly-haired briton who complained.

"Hey, you hurted...”

"Look" He quickly silenced him, pointing out with all the dissimulaty he could towards the couple, thank goodness the others were the same or more drunk than them and they didn't realize it.

Lando opened his mouth and a sharp squeal began to come out of his throat causing Carlos to have to cover his mouth with his hands.

"Shhh" His jaw almost dislocated with the force that silenced him "No one can find out that Charles is the boy Bella likes”

The young man nodded and little by little the spaniard let him go. He pulled the sleeve of the black-haired man's shirt “Carlos, Carlos”.

"What?"

"I think Charles also likes Arabella." He approached him so that they could talk between whispers, both without stopping looking at their friends who had already separated but now spoke to each other in murmurs.

Sainz's thick eyebrows approached each other when he frowned “Yes, you're right. Do you think they already fucked?”.

Lando didn't take long to respond “It looks like it”.

"Well, so who's coming to party?" Pierre applauded again, drawing the attention of others. The drivers of the team of the color of the papaya jumped in their place, scared by the sound “They have told me about a great nightclub that is only two blocks from here”

"You’re so annoying" George ran a hand through his hair as he absorbed the cocktail he had ordered.

"Hey, I just want us to do things together!" He pointed out, offended by his words, he made a pout. "Is it so terrible to go partying and have a good time all together?".

Arabella gave him a sad smile “Sorry, P. I'm very tired and drunk, I think I'll go back to the hotel”

"I'll take her, I'm not so drunk so I can watch that she doesn't do anything crazy." Charles ran his arm through the back of the girl's chair as he took the last sip of his wine.

Lando and Carlos shared glances. The eldest raised both hands, joining the index finger and thumb creating a circle before penetrating it several times with the index finger of the other hand. Immediately Norris' scandalous laughter, which his teammate’s soon joined, began to be heard all over the table.

Pierre sighed sadly “I guess they won't go either”.

The australian placed his hand on his shoulder and gave him a smile as he winked at him “Don't worry. I'll go with you, mate.”

"We will also go" Verstappen pointed to himself and to George who nodded with regret.

"Something is something." The light and illusion returned to Gasly's face.

Soon the group left the restaurant and, after saying goodbye, they separated. Half walked to the nightclub and the other half began to go to the cars to return to the hotel.

Charles placed his left hand on his waist and with the other he held his forehead, he looked at his teammate pointing to the other two drunks with his eyes “We will have to ask for a car to take them.”

"A taxi?" She leaned on the Ferrari because her feet didn't give more of themselves, the heels were killing her. She took her phone out of her bag to look for the taxi company's number.

"I'll ask at the restaurant if they can call one, stay with them" She nodded, watching him move away from them. She looked at the fools she called friends, both were leaning on each other standing, laughing at things that murmured to each other.

She smiled funny when Lando laughed/screamed. Really, she loved his laughter, it was so peculiar.

She searched on her bag for the package of chewing gum that she always made sure to carry in her bag when she went out to party. She agitated it, attracting the attention of both boys "Do you want one?".

"Yes, yes, yes" They hurried to approach her with their hands outstretched. She laughed, it seemed that she was offering them their last meal when in fact they were two mint chewing gum.

"So yummy" Carlos moaned when he chewed it and Lando nodded, agreeing with him.

She did nothing but shake her head before putting one in her mouth. She shried and cursed for not having taken a jacket or at least having put on a dress that covers her more. A couple of minutes later, Charles was already walking towards them.

"There was one nearby" He informed her once that he was in front of her. "It will take about five minutes at most.

"That's great," she smiled tired and hugged herself, which didn't go unnoticed by the boy.

"Are you cold?" She thought about refusing but who she was going to deceive, she nodded and he quickly tantled his fingers on the edge of his sweater so he could take it off. She opened her mouth to be able to stop him when she saw that he had a short-sleeved T-shirt underneath but he denied seeing her intentions “I'm feeling hot because of the wine, and now we're going to get into the car”.

"What about your jacket?" She accepted the sweater and then he spread it out to put it on, immediately feeling much better. She sighed delighted when she smelled his cologne.

"I left it to Pierre, when they leave the disco it will be much later and it will be colder" He shrugged trying not to be affected by seeing her in his clothes. He turned his eyes to the two drunks who looked at them expectantly as they held their hands together, he raised an eyebrow and they quickly turned around as if they were talking about something else.

Not long after, one of the restaurant's security guards helped them take their friends to the car that had just arrived. Charles took care of explaining to the taxi driver where the hotel was or that he could follow him if he wanted while Arabella took care of fastening the boys' belts.

"Thank you, mom” The briton smiled with his eyes closed and she laughed caressing his hair before closing the door.

"Ready?" She held out her hand to Charles and he accepted it, nodding. They walked hand in hand the few meters that were from the taxi to the Ferrari, without thinking that maybe that small gesture would bring them consequences.

First of all, life happened and happened for good, I couldn't write much before but Now. NOW is the time.

I planned and plotted a lot during the whole year I first came up with the idea and I have a kind of strong base for the AU. I also have a brilliant beta by my side, my dear friend Frog (@faramircaptainofgender), so hopefully during this summer this idea will be shared with you all outside our little friend group.

I'll take this opportunity and shamelessly turn my answer into a main post for the AU.

Human within the Machine

[brief synopsis]

The Nations of the world developed a simulation where future Jaeger pilots can practice for in-action cases. Max Verstappen outshines every other contestants in the history of drifting, there's only one problem - he's no team player.

Charles Leclerc is determined to stop the Kaijus and end their reign, once and for all. He lost his parents due to kaiju attacks, now he feels responsible not only to avenge their deaths, but to bring a brighter future to his brothers.

Jaeger engineering is living its golden age, there is money in it and many enthusiastic contestants who are not entirely aware of the horror that awaits them out at the ocean.

There’s no main plot (as in: I am not planning on detailed world-building neither to save the world from kaijus, I am smaller than that), the endgame is to get Max into an active combat where he drifts with Charles and they’re in the Il Predestinato (the legendary Jaeger that has been out of service for a decade, waiting for the right co-pilots). Everything before and in between are just themes I desire to explore within the possibilities of this AU.

I have a playlist that helps me to stay inspired, songs are not in order yet though, but as I said earlier, chapters are meant to be kind-of standalone scenes, existing in their own moods and settings.

Each chapter will have its own chosen background music linked to them. I also added many symphonic songs just to get in the mood for some combat scenes.

Roles: In the case of HwtM we have active and passive characters in this story. Due to the fact that many scenes are set in drift-memories, where not everything is factual and we are in the mix of memories and feelings, some characters will only appear and speak through these moments. Therefore they fall into the passive category - they are the legends. I will talk about them in their own post but the gist of it is what I wrote above, they cannot speak for themselves so we will only see them through tilted lenses: idolised, villanised, or the mix of both.

Which also means another thing - everyone is an unreliable narrator.

Teams and Jaegers: Since this is the golden age of Jaeger engineering, we will have many-many Jaegers. So far I named only a few, but to stay true to the source material, I'm trying to make them just as cheesy yet compelling as the ones were in the movies. The constructor teams from real life are not so different from what they represent in HwtM, but I altered some of their names to fit more into the world (older names or older sounding names of some teams since the future that Pacific Rim has is basically our present. I was aiming for some retro-vibe).

Here, they are different detachments under the Pan Pacific Defense Corps, in the Jaeger Academy division. I’m planning on working with Merc, Ferrari, McLaren, Williams and of course Redbull.

Mercedes is called Benz

Ferrari is called Alfa Romeo

Red Bull is Toro Rosso

The other two stay under the same name.

Ships to look out for: it is a Lestappen-centered story (if I am really honest with you, it’s Max-centered first of all) but on the side-lines we will look into some depths of Carlando, Galex and Maxiel in…some way. Please-please keep in mind, that these won’t be fully developed romantic relationships in the fic, I’m reporting from the minds and souls of these boys, objectively perceived scenes between them will be rare and much more comrade-like.

there are a couple things i need to get off of my chest.

first, a massive apology to my girlfriend. y/n is the love of my life and will be my wife sooner or later and i hate that as a 26-year-old grown man i haven't had the backbone to stand up to ferrari when it comes to her. she's incredibly strong and i hate that she's had to go through this without my public support. i can't take it back now, but if i could i never would've let them take my phone and take control of my social media. they have now been dealt with and no one will stop me declaring my love and support for her.

miss risa you have no idea how difficult this was i think this is like 20x the acceptable length of what this prompt called for.

honorable mentions: not one specific moment but any instance of 1) lando constantly giving oscar the opportunity to win in the final round (see winner-takes-all during summer games + 100-point ultimatum in mini golf), i think if we tallied all their wins by round over the course of mclaren pr videos he'd honestly be above oscar by now, 2) lando being obessed with saying OSCUHHHH like it's an actual filler word he's ingrained into his basal speech patterns instead of his legal name, and 3) obviously oscar hearts-eyeing lando's entire existence in general though i think one great moment is the virgin radio uk appearance because why were they still managing to exchange extremely charged eye contact throughout 14 minutes of zak brown sitting between them. brah

other hms include ice bath video just because them making those sounds at each other was objectively hilarious, the cricket match-up (lando getting all worked up like "nice and easy oscar or else i'll take you off in the next race!!!" "i'm just worried about oscar, i feel like he's a silent killer you know" "oscahhh ): let me get you out mate ))):" and then oscar nonchalantly going Well it's only lando bowling i'll be fine. and immediately decimating him with his aussie schoolboy cricket prowess lmfao), suzuka in general but more specifically oscar not being prepared in the slightest to get absolutely doused by lando on the podium after he foksmashed his champagne, and also underrated landoscar moment is definitely oscar submitting the lando P3NI5 photo to a neural network image guesser.

ok let me get onto the actual list but thongs debate too just because lando obviously Knew but was doing it to be a little shit... in general i think what's fun to me about landoscar is that they've become quite natural in a sort of quiet domestic way so i like any moment that shows off their wordless communication, or alternatively oscar's endless level of patience + tolerance toward lando (listening to whatever pre-race music he blasts / silently giggling at his antics during the cake decoration video). like it's kind of funny when lando pretends in any way that he's miles more hilarious than oscar is because 1) he literally has the exact same sarcastic sense of humor, 2) 80% of his humor is a defense mechanism anyway, and 3) he's probably even more baseline introverted than oscar is (omg i could write a thesis on their social media presences but i won't.) and whenever people talked about how carlando were So Funny as teammates and mistakenly ascribed effusiveness to lando's character in response to their dynamic it quickly became apparent later on that carlos was always the one bringing this out in lando and not the other way around so... like i think their humor matches up well just in subtle moments aka the post-double podium video where oscar is like eyeing the way lando is holding his trophy at the start and then lando gets embarrassed and they start giggling while poor andrea is trying to make his speech like If you two don't stop!!

ANYWAY THE LIST:

🥉 twister: not really because it tells me anything wrt aspects of their dynamic but just because it's SO RIDICULOUS AND UNHINGED. first of all it's such a stunning instance of lando being better at something than oscar is but then the something is literally just being flexible so that's already a large enough indictment there (why are you as a man only good at golfing and being a little gaybo... i won't). but like [face-to-face with oscar's ass while folded up like a little pretzel] "what a sight that is" / "OSCUHH" x5 WHILE HIS VOICE IS LITERALLY GOING HOARSE IN THE PROCESS / and of course the most formative "YOUR LEFT FOOT IS NOT GOING BETWEEN MY LEGS!!!" actually dynamics-wise this WAS informative in that it proved to us that oscar will always be the first to lose at gay chicken. amen

🥈 sportbible green flag video: i think this video deserves to be slotted in at #2 because it's from when their teammate dynamic was still somewhat fresh but it proved to me that oscar was capable of Handling lando... like lando was clearly On One here and saying the most genuinely unhinged shit and somehow oscar still managed to find him funny and charming?!?? which i think is important because as much as oscar has always been characterized as chill and accepting there have been instances of him being genuinely flabbergasted and/or frustrated during his prema days which is of course also a reflection of age and natural maturity, but i still feel like specifically with lando he is SOOOOO TOLERANT of all his particularities and FOR WHATTTTTT. but also you can see during the >LOOK AT YOU WITH YOUR STUPID GOATEE ON moment that this was when lando was starting to understand that oscar wouldn't bend to everything he said and could be witty and incisive (silent killer) when he wanted to be and i think this is important as well in determining the equal footing of their dynamic. tbh my favorite moment here is the entire astrology question because of lando confidently assigning oscar piscesisms when that couldn't be any further from the truth. go off king of rejecting logical reasoning

🥇 LANDO'S BIGGEST FAN INCIDENT: this is #1 to me for so many reasons aka 1) i think this was formative to landoscar taking off as a ship in general because it spanned multiple fics but also 2) this was Personally what convinced Me to actually invest in 814 ship stonks because beforehand i was like "ok clearly oscar likes lando as a teammate and lando thinks oscar is a little lame and dry (in a mildly derogatory instead of fond way) and also oscar is just an attentive listener in general so his heart eyes disposition is mildly exaggerated" but then i watched this and it rewired my brain chemistry. the way we were still skeptics in august...

this whole fanmeeting is insane for several reasons but basically it boggles my mind because the entire exchange starts from the moment oscar is DESCRIBING HOW LARGE HIS NECK HAS GOTTEN which means lando is like sitting there quietly cataloguing the size of his body while oscar gets mildly flustered by the nature of the conversation and then lando deliberately cuts in like mate i'll buy you a new shirt and you can tell you can TELLLLL he was sitting on that response making sure it read well in his head. also it's doubly insane because when oscar responds that he'll get him a smaller shirt to strangle him they're both clearly interpreting it in bad faith like "you just want to get rid of me because i'm your competition xD" but then for whatever reason lando decides to make it Exceedingly weird 5 seconds later and his VOICE LITERALLY CRACKSSSS WHEN HE SAYS HE'LL BUY HIM A SEE-THROUGH SHIRT???????? like what's all this then. why did he essentially call oscar fit. why did he default to his little fantasy of seeing Known Bad Dresser oscar piastri in a shirt detailing lando's possession of his affections. genuinely calamitous levels of embarrassing for everyone involved i don't even know what to say.

Of course I can write a Carlando one!

Carlos and Lando didn't mean to adopt Oscar. It just sort of happened. One minute they are in Australia and the next thing they are taking a 1 month baby home. Thankfully Carlos know how to take care of a baby and make a bottle and change a diaper because Lando was incredibly lost.

Lando is very sensitive to Oscar's emotions and baby's are very emotionally volatile. While Oscar is much calmer than other babies, it can go from 0 to 100 really quick. Lando's vibe is "Oh my god, what am I doing? I don't know what I'm doing. Wait, I do know what I am doing. Nevermind, I was very wrong."

Carlos is a bit more capable due to experience but the downside is Oscar prefers Lando more and it makes taking care of him incredibly difficult. Carlos brings a "I want to help you. Just let me help you" energy that quickly becomes "I know you communicate mostly through crying but can you try a different method." Carlos wants to zone out sometimes but he can't.

Oscar wrecks terror on their marriage and social life. The only thing that is really intact is their job. Oscar's pickiness pushes an unequal distribution of labor in certain areas which strains the marriage. Oscar also doesn't have the energy to be around a lot of people for long periods of time, and his parents keep an active social life.

They had to go to couples counseling a month into the adoption which helped them find equal ground when it came to balancing childcare and their marriage. It also helped that Oscar met Logan and now was fairly content as long as he got to play with Logan.

Lando also started bringing Oscar onto his streams which garnered him a ton of new subscribers. Oscar was fairly content being held and staring at the lights and moving pictures and people found him to be adorable.

Oscar slowly enjoys Carlos's company without Lando in the picture but Carlos is the more responsible party. Feeding, doctor appointments, making sure Oscar has a hat every time he goes outside to protect him from the sun.

The one activity they do enjoy together is golf. They get a couple hours on the course and Oscar gets to sit in his carrier and nap in the golf cart.

Babies are expensive and Oscar is no exception. The issue is that the biggest expense is the wi-fi. Oscar has a designated time to see Logan, whether it be in-person or through Face Time. If George and Alex are free, a play date is an easy thing to organize. However, a face time call is usually the result. The issue lies in Oscar falling asleep with the phone in his hand but will wake up and cry if the phone is removed.

Oscar, like Logan, is a clingy baby. Even though he doesn't say it, he still clings to Carlos's shirt when he has to leave for the race. While he doesn't cry most of the time, he does get upset and hides his face. He also does the same thing with Lando. Carlos is sad but he laughs it off and tells Oscar he'll be back. Lando, however, will carry Oscar as much as he can and is very reluctant to hand him over to the caretaker. While he doesn't cry, Oscar's sad little face and his outstretched hands makes the departure very difficult.

I hope you like it! It's not as cheery as the one I did for Galex but I wanted to show the difference in dynamic and parenting style.

Maybe a lil carlando birthday fic? Lando teasing Carlos about being 30 and Carlos teasing Lando about being into “old men”

Lando closes the door to their apartment with a soft click, careful not to wake Carlos who’s still sleeping soundly in the bedroom. He leaves his keys on the little frog-shaped dish that stands on the table next to the door. Carlos had given it to him as a joke once, but Lando had found it adorable and immediately gave it a new home as a place for all their little trinkets.

He smiles fondly at this memory and he makes his way to the kitchen, where he can finally put down the heavy box he’s carrying. He quickly washes his hands in the sink before he comes back to assess his efforts. The birthday cake he’s gotten for Carlos has thankfully survived the transport from the shop to his car and to the apartment. The writing he had requested on top is done with smooth, glittery red letters, their color contrasting nicely with the black of the cake. All in all, Lando is very satisfied with the result.

The telltale sounds of Carlos waking up and going to the bathroom prompt Lando to stop staring at the black cake and finally put it in the fridge. For now, milk and cereal will have to do.

When Carlos enters the kitchen five minutes later, he’s greeted by a very excited Lando sprinting to his arms. A big smile splits on his face as he opens them to encompass the other man to a hug.

“Good morning mi amor,” he whispers and places a small kiss on the top of his head. Lando’s curls tickling his nose softly fills him with a love he can’t handle that early in the morning. “Your hair is tickling me” he says instead, hoping Lando will understand him anyways.

Lando understands him, of course. He kisses him deeply, and a little messily too, but Carlos pretends not to notice the little tear threatening to fall from his eye. “Happy birthday baby” he breathes against his lips, before pulling him into a tight hug, burying his face in Carlos’ chest.

When they pull apart, Lando beckons Carlos to the table and places a big bowl of cereal in front of him. They sit on the table eating their breakfast, their feet touching every few seconds. Carlos thinks it’s one of the best mornings of his life.

They move to the sofa later, Lando snuggled against Carlos’ side, with the other man’s hand draped around his shoulders. He pokes his hand against his ribs, a mischievous grin forming on his face. When Carlos turns to look at him, he passes him the remote and plasters the most innocent expression that he can manage on his face.

“Do you want to choose the show we watch today, honey?” he says casually, his voice not betraying him for a second.

Carlos turns to look at him at that, his raised eyebrow almost reaching his hairline, but he can’t read the expression on Lando’s face. “What happened to I’m the youngest, so I get to choose then?”

At this, Lando starts to crack. He still delivers his joke before he bursts out laughing though. “Oh well, I thought, since you’re turning thirty, I’ve got to respect my elders, you know?”

He bolts out of the sofa as he says that, and narrowingly manages to avoid Carlos’ tickle-trap. He still hears his squeak of indignation as he enters the kitchen though.

When he comes back, Carlos has put on some show and is waiting for him with a little too innocent of a smile on his face, in Lando’s opinion. When he sees the cake in his arms, however, he bounces quickly up and on his feet, forgetting about Lando’s teasing from before. Until he sees the cake, that is.

It’s a beautiful black cake, with his driver’s number drawn on the side and a chili pepper next to it. It’s only when Lando puts the cake on the table that he can see what is written, and he immediately tackles him to the sofa, the tickling not avoided this time.

In between bursts of laughs, Lando manages to form a sentence. “What? I knew you would love it!”

“Lando! You’ve literally written Happy Birthday Old Man on it! I’m not that old, I just turned thirty!” He jabs a finger in his armpit, just to be sure he got his point across.

Lando, however, seems to really enjoy being tickled today, because he doesn’t stop. “Exactly! You’re, like, ancient. You have to bestow your wisdom on me.”

A shit-eating grin forms on Carlos’ face when he hears that. “Well, Landito, my piece of wisdom is as follows. Lando Norris is into old men,” he fake-whispers. “It’s true, he told me himself. He likes them really old. In fact, he loves it especially when they’re past thirty.” He makes a mock-shocked face, like he’s scandalized to hear what just came out of his mouth.

Lando seems to find this hilarious. He’s laughing so much that tears form in his eyes and he would be doubling in half if Carlos wasn’t sitting half on top of him.

When he calms down, he pulls him in for a kiss before sitting up to serve them some cake. “It’s your birthday Carlos, you get to choose which piece you want first,” he says, and grabs the knife he’d left on the table.

Carlos looks at him excitedly when he hears that and rushes to investigate the two pieces of cake he had cut.

Later, when they’re sitting in bed, Carlos thinks this is the best birthday he’s had in a while. And if the next morning he makes Lando call him old man as he’s making him unravel under his touch, well, that’s no one else’s business but his own.
