it was a peaceful day at the spidersociety's headquarters. all the anomalies you and hobie have caught while patrolling were imprisoned in their cages, you did your daily patrolling chores and now boredom seemed to have gotten the best of you.

sometimes when you're bored, you wonder what your boyfriend was doing. well, factually speaking he was not quite your boyfriend, because of his "i hate labels" stuff, but it was most likely the two of you had something

sadly you spent most of your time wondering how he was going. you couldn't communicate because your communicator broke and miguel decided hobie had to give his to you.

you know what? fuck that hierarchy thing, just because some vampire spider man didn't want you to multi dimensional travel doesn't mean you wouldn't.

you then left your small apartment and headed to the headquarters.

"don't even think of it." firmly said miguel.

"what? i didn't even say anything yet-" you say.

"your backpack. it's the one you always bring with you when i send you in missions with hobie. considering the disaster it made when i left gwen visit miles last time, i am not letting this happen a second time." he said firmly.

"please." you try to beg. "it has been weeks since you last sent us on a mission together. plus it's soon our birthday and we celebrate all of them together. please? i promise you won't hear anything from me next."

"fine" he sighed, "but only for three days."

"four days? please?" you try to negotiate.

"if i let you go, will you stop harassing me ?" he asked, visibly annoyed.

"pinky promise!" you exclaim, "thank you so much!"

he then opened a portal which led you to your boyfriend's dimension. you walked a bit to the bar where he probably was, as usual.

once you arrived, riri, one of hobie's best friend, warmly greeted you.

"glad to see you around!" she says with a warm smile. "if you're here to see hobie, he's in the back!."

you then headed to the room in the back of the building. you did find him practicing with his band. taking care to not disturb them, you sat on a small table in the back of the room.

you couldn't help but admire him. despite everything he went through, he always kept going.

"hobes", said a member of the group."i think someone's waiting for you."

as soon as he noticed your face, you could see his instantly lit up.

once his practice went all smooth, the two of you headed outside. a fresh breeze greeted you as the two of you tried to catch up on the lost time.

"i can't believe miguel let you come there" he says in disbelief. "i ain't complaining though, i missed my sunshine a whole bunch" he continues before kissing you.

"i missed you too, hobie," you murmur with a soft smile.

the two of you kept wandering in the streets, talking about random things.

"you down for cuddles, sunshine?" he asked as you came back home.

the two of you sat on the floor, your head on his chest, feeling his soft heartbeat.

eventually you both drifted to sleep, his hand playing with your hair.

i would like to infodump about Vox (aka trip and dump my headcanons everywhere like it was spaghetti in my pocket)

Vox’s actual name was Vaughn Oxner, he was born in the August of 1909, his birthday was not legally recorded because his family immigrated from Germany to America soon after his birth, but Vox celebrates it on August 1st, even though he was probably born much later in the month.

Vox’s father died in a work related accident when he was 9, and his mother took to doing various odd jobs, mostly centered around cleaning or childcare for the richer people of the time. Vox would try to help by doing yard work and other hands on things to get some extra money.

His mothers name was Maud, and she couldn’t speak English very well. Vox used to act as a translator, sometimes she’d tell him what she wanted said in German and he would say it that way, or later on she’d try to speak in English on her own; but her accent was so thick that Vox would usually have to help anyway.

His family anglecised their last name, with it previously being Öxner, his parents kept the traditional spelling while Vox and his two little sisters got the anglecised one.

Vox has two sisters, Carolin and Anneliese. Anneliese was the youngest, then Carolin was 2 years older than her, and Vox was 7 years older than Carolin.

Carolin disappeared in the dead of night with her female ‘best friend’ when she was 23 and lived a relatively peaceful and very happy life with her ‘galpal’ in St. Louis.

Anneliese became a roman catholic nun, which is funny because her name means ‘devoted to god’, but she changed it to Philomena after the saint once she entered the convent. She was a nun until her death in the late 1990s.

Vox was NBC’s go-to TV personality from 1948 to his death in 1957 (in my fic i said 1953, but I wanted more years to work with, so tis now 1957), he started as an assistant newscaster for a station in Cincinnati in 1946 but quickly moved up the ranks with his charisma and likability, eventually being picked up by NBC to do a variety show; which later spanned into a talk show, various guest appearances on other shows of the time, and he even got a gameshow.

I like to think that Vox had a running gag on his shows where he’d constantly change his birthday, he would announce the days date like “it’s December 14th, my birthday!”, and he’d also have a special way of greeting the audience every episode. I can’t decide on how he would, but it’d be goofy as hell. but endearingly so, yknow.

There was another TV personality at NBC at the time named Vincent Orwell, so on the staff rosters Vaughn Oxner was shortened to “V. Ox.” to avoid confusion with “V. O.” who had been there before Vox.

The reason Vox is called Vox in hell though is entirely coincidental, as when he fell it’d been raining and his speakers messed up due to it. His speakers healed (his first head acted more ‘biologically’ than his later upgrades do) rather quickly, but did so after Alastor asked for Vox’s name.

Vox tried to say Vaughn, but could only get the ‘V’ out, Alastor took to calling him Vox because of his box-shaped head and it simply stuck.

Vox can still speak a bit of German, though he’s not as fluent as he used to be. He can still understand it just fine though, it’s just speaking it thats the problem.

Also, heres a list of what I’s think the names of his shows would be;

“The Wondrous Showcase of Various Talents” (sometimes it would include “:starring Vaughn Oxner” while other times it wouldn’t) - his variety show, it mostly consisted of music but had comedy segments from time to time. It ran from 1948-1956, but took a semi-hiatus while Vox’s talkshow was on. It released it’s second season over the four years Vox did his talkshow and was very irregular in that time. It went for 4 seasons, and a 5th was greenlit but Vox died before it could happen and it was cancelled all together.

“Goodnight with Vaughn Oxner” - his late night talk show that ran 1949-1953, initially it was created as a way to try and pull views from CBS, who ran The Faye Emerson Show at the same time (the first late night talkshow); but when the Faye Emerson show ended in 1950, NBC planned on cancelling Vox’s talkshow as well, but it was so popular they kept it for another season.

“It’s my Birthday!: Starring Vaughn Oxner” - his gameshow, which i don’t have the details worked out for, but it was definitely a guessing game of some kind. it only ran one season in 1956-1957, the finale was filmed a mere week and a half before Vox’s death; it was aired afterwards with an ending card reading “in memory of Vaughn Oxner, may you bring smiles upon the angels that surely surround you”, i think it’s ironically hilarious considering where and how he ended up.

• wrought doesn’t know how old he is <3 (its about 35 probably) but he has no clue he doesn’t know his birthday or anything i don’t think his parents celebrated it in the first place but also. the…brain damage from how she grew up plays a part

• pre-tadpole he was in an extremely toxic situationship and with a dragonborn named epitaph who was a Bad Person. wrought wasn’t good either but in comparison to epitaph she’s an angel lmao. toxic butch on butch violence yay :)

• he LOOOOOVES lying its her favorite pastime :) think shawn spencer from psych type lying. like ridiculous levels of tomfoolery and shenanigans >:)

• he’s EERILY good at mimicking/changing his voice. she used a completely different voice from his actual voice around the companions until one day he just dropped it and everyone was like “DID ANYONE REALIZE THAT WASN’T HIS VOICE?!?!”

• continuing from the last 2 points wrought doesn’t understand how to be a Person unless she’s mimicking it for most of his life. wyll is key in him understand who He is and how to like. be okay with Feeling!!! [my brother’s ocs are also MAJOR factors, one of them and wrought were roommates before the epitaph incident when wrought got too…unsettling and scared him off but they reconnect and are like siblings :’)]

• for some in game mechanic/play lore a BIG defining thing was he let astarion kill him when drinking his blood. wrought SOMEHOW hasn’t died after living so stupid and dangerously (and being yknow homeless. yay urchin bg) and basically has no fear of death now as long as its weird and for a bit or something. just very curious and unfazed by the whole deal and thought it would be cool to see what would happen if a vampire drank all his blood. wasn’t even mad @ astarion the next day which i think freaked astarion out a bit because well. thats weird wrought!!!!

• wyll is wrought’s first REAL relationship he’s NEVER had these feelings!!!! he slept with people all the time (milfs mostly bc they are obsessed with her 😌) whether for fun or mostly to get info/steal from people lmao…the closest to a “relationship” was epitaph which was bad and fucked up in every way and wouldve gotten wrought killed if epitaph hadn’t just happened to die

• besides wyll, wrought’s best friend is astarion and they are VERY codependent and sooo fucking weird together they make me want to cry <3

• need to talk more about just wyllwrought but they are t4t. this is essential. <3 <3

A birthday headcanon

Narrator- Tbh I think he forgets when his birthday is :,| that or he just kinda stopped celebrating it after a certain point bc I picture him being a loner for a good amount of years before Tyler. He never had anyone to celebrate it with really & he only just suddenly remembers his when he gets a random phone call from his mom or some relative to wish him a happy birthday. They’ll ask if he’s gonna do anything fun to celebrate and he’d be like “yeah. Totally 🙂” and in reality he spends his birthday night maybe eating some ice cream and watching some random tv show.

When he’s with Tyler tho, Tyler just somehow found out when it was (probably on some paper somewhere) and he makes it a little bit of a fun occasion :) he’ll make him some cup cakes or something & he lets him pick whatever they do in 🛏 that night 😳 if he’s feeling really nice he might even go out to get a singular balloon or grab him one gift from the thrift store.

Tyler- He only goes all out if he has a friend or whoever at the time who offers to spoil him for the night. He’s met all kinds of people so I feel like some friends have been richer than others so if they offer… 🤷‍♀️ he can excuse him going some place fancy/wild/expensive by saying he’s just yknow, ‘only doing it so his friend will be slightly broker’ 😑

When he’s with Narrator tho & he’s putting on the show of being such a good role model, he says he doesn’t want anything & not to throw him any parties. The only thing he will accept from Jack that day is maybe a meal & sex 💀

I feel like the space monkeys would wanna do something to celebrate their leaders birthday but they know better than going against Tylers orders.

An injury headcanon

Narrator- From what I’ve heard, it sounds like Jacks face is really ‘messed up’ at the end of the FC book and while I don’t think he ever cares all that much about how he looks, I think sometimes he would stare in the mirror and wonder what Tyler would think. Like if this is what rock bottom looked like for him all along & if Tyler would like it or call him ugly.

He runs his hands over all the scars Tyler has gave him even after Tyler is gone. I think he truly doesn’t ever know how to feel about the kiss mark on the back of his hand. Even if he got it removed or fixed, I’m pretty sure it would still leave a scar so I don’t think he’d see the point of doing anything about it. He has a part of Tyler with him forever 😲😲😲😲😲

Tyler- He’s just as obsessed over the scars Jack gives him as Jack is with the ones Tyler gives him. While Jack looks at his own more daydreamingly and all heart eyed, Tyler looks at the ones Jack gives him and giggles to himself :3 because Jack stops holding back as more time goes by.

He might even pick up clothes from the thrift store that will show off the injuries Jack gave him better. Jack won’t think anything of it because he knows Tyler just likes revealing clothes lol.

A clothing headcanon

Narrator- he cuts off all the tags off his clothes, even before meeting Tyler. He hates those scratchy tags that are on the back of shirts and even on the insides of pants sometimes.

I think Tyler would see him do that one time and be like “good :3 you’re improving! Not wanting any designer labels on your clothes!” And jacks like “Yeah…” but it’s really just autism.

Tyler- He used to be succchhhh a band t-shirts guy. He still has some but all of them became crop tops :3 even if the picture on the shirt looks better as a full thing, he didn’t care. He just wanted crop tops but couldn’t find any affordable nice ones for a while so he just worked with what he had. And well.. if anyone complained he ruined a nice band shirt they must just be some loser music elitist since his abs are on display but they are complaining of all things.

I'm having a birthday party this Saturday, (it's also a friend's nameday and we decided to celebrate it together) So we made a group chat with everyone to invite them.

We mostly have common friends so like, approximately 10 of the kids are our common friends, 5 are mine and 5 are hers

But it's cool cause we all go to the same school so yknow, not everyone is that close but we'll manage

Except one person, I invited someone that my classmates don't know, actually 2 of them know this person and have been friends for years (I met this person through them) and my best friend has also met this person one or twice

So we're gonna name this person Bob, so, Bob is not a greek name.

And she was talking with my friend who's met the guy and my friend was like his name is Bob

First off Kokichi starts a drinking game with Kaede (they’re drinking water dw) on how many friends are shocked upon realizing Shuichi Works-at-a-McDonalds-NaegiTogamiKirigiri lives here.

I feel like with absolutely everyone here, Shuichi's number one goal is to avoid Naegi getting out the baby photos (because we're looking at 16-17, and this is Shuichi, he would probably die on the spot if all his friends got to see the pumpkin video again) BUT ON TOP OF THAT we have Kokichi, who is trying to 4D chess his way into getting Naegi to pull out the baby photos (The rivalry may have calmed down but it will never die) So the two are silently battling it out with Naegi completely none the wiser. Also a silent and joking rivalry in Shuichi's class of just who can give him the best present. like nobody is getting violent but it's definitely become something HPA students even outside their class have started placing bets on. There's huge cash pools on the big players, Kokichi, Kaito, Kaede, and Maki, but it also became a gag to vote for Kiibo just to put the pressure on him to get a really good gift (for the lolz yknow?) and He's So Stressed The Whole Time.

also you and I both know Kokichi shoved Shuichi's head into his cake. Imagine it's become like a tradition at this point. they get a second smaller cake just for this weird tradition of theirs. Shuichi's just grown to accept it lmao.

kaeya never really cared for his birthday. growing up crepus would always throw parties but after his passing kaeya just lost what little enjoyment he had for them

he avoided telling people because he knew they’d always try to get him to celebrate. he preferred to just be alone in the tavern, getting extremely drunk to forget what day it was

you didn’t even know today was his birthday; you only found out because you heard jean and lisa talking

you weren’t trying to eavesdrop, really. you were in the library reading a book and overheard them talking. they probably figured there was nobody else in there, you were tucked back in the corner afterall

at first you heard jean complaining about someone giving her a hard time about taking the day off. you didn’t understand at first until lisa mentioned kaeya, saying how “he always seemed to dislike his birthday.”

you paused everything that you were doing. today was his birthday?? since when???? did you forget? combing through your memory you couldn’t recall him ever mentioning his birthday. as long as you two have known each other he never told you. you couldn’t be mad at him for it. if what lisa said was true you understood. you couldn’t just sit around and do nothing for him though, he was your best friend

returning your book to the shelf it came from, you quickly made your way out of the library. you didn’t exactly know where to find him, but you’d do it somehow

first you checked his office, finding that it was empty. “guess he did take the day off,” you mumbled to yourself.

then you checked good hunter, no sign of him

you checked the cathedral too, no clue why he’d be there but he’s unpredictable sometimes. nothing.

you looked over and saw a bunch of windwheel aster petals scattered all over the place, kaeya was in the middle of plucking one bare currently. it looked like he was playing “they love me, they love me not.”

“you’re supposed to use roses for that, yknow.”

“i know, i just couldn’t be bothered to find some roses,” the man next to you said in a flat tone. you could see his lips turn slightly upwards when he finished the last windwheel aster though. part of you wanted to ask who he was thinking about, but the other half said to just stay quiet.

silence lingered between you two. not an awkward silence, but more of a peaceful one. you enjoyed the quiet moments you two shared. something about them eased you.

after a few minutes kaeya stood up, stretching slightly. you watched him closely, tilting your head to the side some. he turned around, looking down at you.

“i was going to go on a walk by myself later today, but since you’re here… would you do me the favor of accompanying me?” kaeya held out a hand to you. you smiled at him, taking his hand in yours and standing up.

“i’d be more than happy to.”

you lost track of time. you didn’t even know where you two were going and to be honest you didn’t think kaeya knew either. you two just walked in silence, your hands still intertwined from him helping you up. you two held hands quite often recently, not exactly sure. you were a little ashamed to admit that your heart would beat a little faster every time his thumb rubbed against your knuckles.

the temperature started to slowly fall as the sun started its descent. every now and then you’d shiver when a breeze would come through. unlike kaeya you were not immune to the cold. your anemo vision only made you unbothered by the wind.

“can’t handle the cold?” kaeya glanced over at you, that usual shit eating grin was on his face. he loved to be an ass whenever you were cold.

“no, i can’t.” you shot a glare at him, receiving a hearty laugh in return. you couldn’t help but laugh too. his laugh and smile was contagious to you. whenever you weren’t in a good mood kaeya would always shoot you a smile and within a few minutes you’d be smiling too.

eventually you two stumbled upon the statue of seven near the winery. you noticed kaeya’s mood drop when he saw it in the distance. he tried to hide it but you could easily see through his front. he’d always fall silent when he’d get reminded of something. the sparkle in his one exposed eye would fade. he’d start to drift off into his headspace.

“we can stop here for a few minutes,” kaeya motioned at one of the trees near the cliff that overlooked the winery. you could hear the slight sadness in his voice.

“are you sure?” you looked over at him with worried eyes, squeezing his hand a bit tighter. you knew everything about what happened at the winery, what happened between him and diluc, basically everything about him. you were the only person he trusted to tell.

“yeah, i need to rest my legs anyways,” within a few seconds kaeya had that mask back up. his smile returned, but you could tell he was faking it.

you two took a seat at the base of the tree, your backs leaning against it for support. you felt kaeya’s head resting on your shoulder.

“i know this is kinda weird timing but..” you reached into your coat pocket, pulling out a wooden box. kaeya sat up and looked at the box you were holding out to him. you moved it a bit closer, signaling for him to take it.

kaeya took the box, slowly taking the lid off. he looked at it for a few seconds before a huge smile came across his face.

inside the box there were come calla lilies, fruity skewers, a small ring, an ice blue crystal, a very small bottle of perfume, and a note. it was astonishing how you managed to fit everything in there. kaeya was stunned at how you managed to include all of his favorite things, he didn’t think you payed that much attention. he took out the note and unfolded it.

kaeya stared at it for a few minutes while you awkwardly sat there. you couldn’t tell how he felt about all this. yes he was smiling but he smiled a lot.

“i’m sorry it’s kinda out of the blue and rushed— i just found out this morning through lisa and jean and i hurried to get something together— i wasn’t exactly sure what to do so it’s okay if you don’t like it i just wanted to d-“

next thing you knew kaeya’s lips were on yours. you were stunned at first and just froze for a second. it all happened so suddenly and randomly. it didn’t take you long to give in though.

his lips felt soft, cold like snow. they delicately moved against yours, treating them like they were as fragile as glass. his kiss tasted like wine and vanilla. his touch felt like heaven. when his hand cupped your cheek and the other snaked around your waist you felt ecstasy take over your body.

you both pulled away, foreheads resting on the other while you looked at each other. you both were out of breath. that was one of those kisses that just completely steals all the air from your lungs.

“i love it,” kaeya let out an airy laugh, smiling at you.

“good,” you pulled away, still trying to process what the fuck just happened. you made out with your best friend?? hello?? you did like him yes— scratch that you were in love with this man and had been for awhile. you just weren’t expecting it to happen now.

“i’m sorry how sudden that was,” kaeya ran his hand through his hair that was now completely out of the loose ponytail. “i just— no one’s ever given me something that meaningful in a long time. i never told you about my birthday because i normally just ignore it. but the fact you found out last minute, weren’t mad, and managed to do all this was just.. wow.”

you let out a small laugh. watching kaeya ramble about your gift was adorable to you. the usual glow to his face that you absolutely loved was back.

“and um— if it’s still not obvious, i really fucking love you y/n.”

you were back at kaeya’s place now. you weren’t intending on staying but he asked you to spend the night, there was no way you would decline that.

so now here you were, laying in your new boyfriend’s bed with nothing on, the two of you clinging onto each other. you were still trying to catch your breath, you’d never done something that extreme with anybody. you definitely knew you’d be sore in the morning.

kaeya’s hands ran through your hair, gently massaging your scalp. your head was nuzzled up against his bare chest. it felt nice here. you felt safe in his arms.

all of this felt so surreal. you’d dreamed about a moment like this for so many years now, it just was crazy to think that your desires had became reality.

“thank you for everything today,” kaeya’s voice was soft, softer than what you were used to. you’d seen many sides to him but you could never remember seeing this soft side. “i really wasn’t having the best day. in all honesty i was miserable. im used to being drunk off my ass on my birthday. you made it a lot better though.”

you looked up at kaeya, resting your chin on his chest now. you placed a kiss to his jawline. “i’m glad i made it more enjoyable.”

“y’know i honestly thought birthdays always sucked, but now that you know about it i think they’ll be a hell of a lot better.”

you hummed in response, too tired to answer.

Do you think that Dream Land has Kirby’s birthday as a national event? As in, it’s literally an official holiday that everyone should celebrate?

I don't think it's an official national event, it's just dreamlanders (and even some friends from other worlds like Ribbon) love Kirby a whole lot so they would obviously celebrate his birthday on a big scale like he deserves.

I actually also have a headcanon related to this.

So yknow how both Kirby AND Dedede debuted in the same game? I like to think that it means that Dedede and Kirby actually have birthday on the same day. Before Dedede turned a new leaf and became a good king and friends with Kirby, he was incredibly jealous of all attention Kirby was getting on this day and no one wished him any happy birthdays except for waddle dees. Nowadays, people of dream land celebrate their birthdays at once and it's a huge happy feast all over! The day of the great king and the hero!

There were some many similarities to this show and The Book of Life!!!! Well, more like how they’re in the same universe canonically. Also!!!! There are some lines that I remember being in both Book of Life and this show, like “son of a leopard!“ and when Zatz died when he was holding up the snakes head, he looked at Maya and “I love you Maya”, like in the exact same was Manolo “died” when he saved Maria and his friends/family. Like 👏👏👏👏 sooooo many parallels i could list lol.

Also!!!! The character designs!!!!! Personally my fav design was Chimis:

Also, this show is like for 10 y/o kids and im like. A teenager. So if ur gonna watch it there’s obviously going to be cringey moments since this show is like for kids.

Also!!!!!!!!!!! The ending lowkey made me cry a bit. So now im headcanning that when the Tecca start celebrating Mayas birthday as a holiday, and every year she and Zatz come down from the sky to like. Catch up on things and yknow. Hang out and stuff.

Like i thought the director was gonna pull a “ha ha! You thought they died, but they didn’t! They live!” whenever a character like Acat died. But. Not until the ending when everyone like visited again. Canonically, Maya and the Three were mostly in their mid-to late teens, so in my au, they all just do teenager stuff. Like, since Zatz can fly around and stuff, Maya and the gang go on a high pillar so Maya can jump off it to see if she can float. She doesn’t but Zatz flies her around for a bit. Also!!!! Zatz could’ve been good friends with Rico, like Rico giving good and/or badish relationship advice to him. Or Zatz being besties w/ Chimi and doing each others hair, like Zatz having Chimis hairstyle and Chimi having Zatz hairstyle. Or like Maya and the Three shorts where they go on quests and have quirky shenanigans!!! I want that!!!

Needless to say, this was an amazing show and I recommend watching it!!!!

Could I request Kid and Killer with an S/O that never celebrates her birthday so they surprise her with a party and she starts crying because she never expected it. No body celebrated it before so she never bothered with it

He didn’t celebrate your birthday in the beginning only because he doesn’t really pay attention to birthdays and never realized you had never celebrated it- he didn’t even know when your birthday was

Tbh he doesn’t really celebrate birthdays either, he just uses it as an excuse for more drinking and partying than usual

So he doesn’t really know how to celebrate a birthday

At first he wanted to just take the crew out to the bar for your birthday “party”

But the more he thought about it, the more he realized that you deserved more

So he would ask Killer for any info on how birthday parties are supposed to be celebrated, but Killer really doesn’t know either

So he used the little knowledge of it that he actually knows: cake and gifts

He doesn’t like sweets and obviously he doesn’t know how to make them, but thankfully Killer has some sort of idea on the recipe because there’s actually a recipe book or two in the ship’s kitchen

So he’ll make the cake per Kid’s demand, and Kid tries to think of what to get you

He loves spoiling you in general yknow- for example from the treasure they get/steal he gives you rings, bracelets, jewels, etc.

But he wanted to get you something special because it’s a special occasion, even he thinks that, and clothes+jewelry are normal things for him to get you

So he actually decided to try making something for you, which was a little metal heart shaped with an intricate design of overlapping shards of metal- he was embarrassed to say the least, thinking you wouldn’t like it

The whole time planning, he was keeping a close eye on you making sure you didn’t stumble upon anything or hear anything- while he was also keeping an eye on the crew making sure they didn’t say anything, he had Killer’s help on this too

Eventually the day arrives and he has the crew set up everything on the deck while you’re napping. Then he goes down to get you and trails closely behind you while you make your way up onto the deck

He’s standing behind you with a wide smirk watching you jump as the crew shouted “SURPRISE”, he pulled it off *proud sigh*

But when you turn to him with tears rolling down your cheeks he thinks he messed up or scared you

“Oi ______ stop crying!” 

“Is something wrong?!”

“Do you not like it?!”

He holds your shoulders while you try to explain why your crying through your tears, and once. he understands he scolds you for making him worry

While you’re partying with the rest of the crew, Kid is sat over on the side thinking how special this must have been to make you cry and he’s happy that he put so much effort into it because he definitely feels like it was worth it

It makes him extremely happy and proud that he was able to offer you something that you had never experienced before- but accompanying these feelings there was also the anger towards the people who never bothered to celebrate the day you were created because without that day he wouldn’t have you

When the party was over and you were with Kid in his room, he was sitting on the bed looking deep in concentration. He had been wondering if giving you the metal heart was a good idea, you had gotten a lot of other gifts from the crew- but he wanted you to know how hard he worked for you, how much he would do for you

So he called you over and pulled your into his lap before attaching his lips to yours. Devouring you with more passion that roughness, which was quite unusual for him. He parted breathlessly, taking a moment to stare into your eyes, then he ever so slightly held out his hand, directly in front of him against his stomach. If he hadn’t glanced down at the object,  you wouldn’t have noticed it

The heart glittered in the dim light of the room, but Kid’s eyes were fixated on the sparkle in your own, the way you softly smiled as you turned the object over in your hands, and the arrival of tears once again wetting your cheeks

“Oi, you’ve already cried once today you baby” Depsite his rude words, his voice was soft and gentle. Kid wore a prominent blush and a stutter, yet a serious face as he promised to show you the love you never recieved as a child, telling you that you deserve the world and more. And he would be the one to give it to you

Okay but “Murder Machine” just makes him even more attractive

Tbh he also didn’t take other crewmates’ birthdays very seriously, because all they ever did for the occasion was drink and party more

Killer had realized the crew never celebrated your birthday, no one really asked for your birthday the day you joined so no one knew when the date was

The only reason Killer didn’t ask himself was because he didn’t know if it was a touchy subject or if there was a specific reason you never said anything, and the last thing he wanted was to make you uncomfortable

However, when you were drunk one time you had spilled the date of your birthday and Killer had written it down- luckily you didn’t remember telling him so he could plan a surprise party

He had a small idea of how a birthday was supposed to be celebrated- cakes, gifts, friends, just the basics

Buuut, Kid wasn’t onboard with Killer’s plan. He doesn’t like birthday parties, or cake- sweets in general. Kid’s refusal to help Killer with the party angered him as well as slightly insulted him. But he refused to give up because he wanted you to enjoy your birthday, it’s a special day 

Killer’s birthday isn’t important to him, but your birthday will be 

He decided he would just celebrate alone with you- that means no Kid, no craziness, and it’s more intimate. He really just wanted to spend time with you, so he’s hoping you won’t mind it being just the two of you. He also wanted to make sure you wouldn’t be overwhelmed by the sudden celebration which you had never experienced before

At least Kid was nice enough to let Killer have the kitchen to himself on the date

The hardest part was trying to decide what gift to get you; it had to be something you like, and something meaningful. Maybe something that would remind you of him? 

The week before your birthday, when he was still planning this, he had gone off by himself on the island you docked at- so he could look for a gift from one of the village’s shops

Eventually after about and hour of searching, finding something, deciding it wasn’t good enough or you wouldn’t like it, then putting it back, Killer found a teddy bear. Fluffy fur that was about the same color as his hair, he thought you would like it because you always compliment his hair and run your fingers through it

He was proud of the gift at first, but he kept doubting if you would like it or not

He managed to keep the little celebration a seceret, which was particularly easy because the crew didn’t have a problem with him wanting to celebrate alone with you- the only problem was Kid kept threatening to tell you 

So when the day finally arrived, Killer was totally nervous, On the outside he looked perfectly calm, nothing out of the ordinary. But inside he was a wreck, doubting everything he planned 

The cake came out fine, so did the icing. It was a simple one layer cake frosted with [y/f/c] icing. He places little flowers he had picked up on the last island, around the kitchen. and and and.... candles- he had a few little candles placed around the kitchen that provided a dim light

He placed the cake on the counter, accompanied by two plates and the correct utensils of course- and he kept the bear hidden in a cabinet so he could pull it out later 

He went to get you from your room quite late, once everyone else was in their beds. He wanted it to be as quiet as possible and this was unfortunately the only way to have that. You didn’t know about this surprise from Killer because you had just assumed this day would be. like every other year, so you you had gone to sleep

Killer had to wake you up which made him feel kind of guilty, but he thought you looked adorable while he lead you down the hall to the kitchen

He had you step in before him and leaned over your shoulder to whisper a soft “happy birthday _____” He awaited your reaction to the cake and decorations he had placed so excitedly, but when he did not recieve one he got worried

“_______?” He whispered your name and you turned around with tears streaming down your face, it was a heartbreaking sigh in crontrast to your  soft smile

“______? What’s wrong? Do you not like it? You can go if you want, you don’t have to stay” Killer whisper shouted. You threw yourself against his chest and wrapped your arms around his torso while explaining through sobs that you just didn’t expect it because no one ever celebrated your birthday

Killer smiled widely behind his mask at your reaction, yes of course he hated seeing you cry but at least they were happy tears

For a minute his smile faltered, suddenly realizing how hard it must have been on you to not grow up with a single birthday or party celebrating your birth, because hell even Kid “celebrated the crew’s birthdays. He felt a pang of anger towards those who had most likely made you feel sad on the past birthday days by not doing anything to give you the day you deserved

He led you over to the counter where you jumped up and sat with him to eat the cake

It was silent while you ate, of course you spared a few glances at Killer to see him enjoy food without his mask on. After about 2/3 of the cake was gone and you gazed lovingly up at Killer ignoring his confused and flustered face, he reached down to open the cabinet and get the bear out

He placed it in your hands hesitatingly and waited. He watched you look at the bear for a quick second before you broke into a huge smile and told him you love it

He smiles softly and pulled you into him to hold you

“It’s fur reminds me of you” You giggled as you noticed the similarity between the bear’s fur and your boyfriend’s

“I was hoping you’d say that”

THIS IS GONNA BE HELLA LONG SO HERE YOU GO

so niki first joined l'manberg - contrary to popular belief - AFTER the revolution, along w jack manifold. she joined bc she was good friends with wilbur and tommy. she opened up a bakery after consulting her diary/chat, and it ended up being pretty successful. not too succesful, but successful. during the elections, she decided to support her friend (childhood friend? the timeline is fucked up bc of c!fundy existing lbr) and together she and fundy made COCONUT2020. she didn't think she'd win, only really did it for fun, and supported wilbur even though she didn't join his party then her best friend and friend got exiled, and so she was understandably distraught and angry schlatt's reign was one of her low points. not her lowest, but pretty damn low if i do say so myself. she was tormented during this time by schlatt himself, and he made fun of her for her relationship with wilbur, called her things like a "wrench", he taxed her (to the point where she had to run away!), and he imprisoned her. it doesn't help that her childhood(?) friend betrayed her burnt down the flag that she had made for l'manberg (its so sad actually, listen to it) she had a birthday party that while i didnt watch ive heard that wilbur threatened to blow up l'manberg so yeah then she saw her younger brother-like figure get executed onstage, then almost got executed herself, when wilbur managed to get her away then it is DEVASTATING as she finally finds out abt how things have been going in pogtopia (especially for the viewers who only watched niki's pov). she had thought that they had a plan, that they were working things out, when really they haven't even got a semblance of a plan the pit fight happens, and then after she goes up to listen to one of tommy's discs with tubbo and tommy themselves during the manberg v pogtopia war, she fights for pogtopia and watches schlatt die and the nation become wilbur's again. then, of course, comes the part that all old school c!niki fans will remember... during the celebration they had just after tubbo gained presidency, she accidentally uncovered a small part of the wall and saw tnt. she went still, then covered it up, on the assumption that wilbur wouldn't blow it up BOY was she wrong her home gets destroyed (watch this and skip forwards until niki's pov), and she doesnt find out that wilbur dies until much, much later. to honour him, she starts wearing his coat. everything goes fine for a little while, and she yknow dates puffy (*SOBS* im unbiased im unbiased.... *sob*), and then doesnt find out abt tommy's exile until much later AFTER that. she doesnt really get in on the lore much during the inbetween period of tommy's exile and doomsday except for her city being built more. then, during doomsday, she gets angry at tommy and says that he couldn't just walk in there and assume everyone would be on his side, she also shouts at ranboo abt sides and stuff. later, she apologizes to ranboo and says that if ranboo fights for l'manberg, she will too. ranboo ends up doing nothing except watching everything unfold, and so niki does the same, except for one thing. she burns down the l'mantree, also known as her canonical lowest point. after that, she hears ghostbur speaking and has a panic attack, trying to reassure herself that "he's gone, he's gone, he's gone" and because shes too flooded w memories, she ends up blowing up her bakery. afterwards, however, she goes down into her secret city and isolates herself from everybody except for jack, who she plots to kill tommy with. she takes tommy to a nuclear test site and almost manages to kill him, but JUST misses him, somehow after this attempt, she scurries back to her little hole like a cryptid and (this is, in my opinion, her lowest point) isolates herself even MORE. she has contact with exactly 1 person during this whole period of four-five canonical(??) months, and it results in her mental health getting worse. technoblade visits her at the start of this, offering her a position as an anarchist to which she gives him a "maybe, after

i kill tommy" she gets night terrors, and keeps herself in a literal CELL so that she doesnt go anywhere when she sleepwalks, also punches the walls whenever she wakes up from a nightmare, which is often. eventually tho, she accepts techno's offer and joins the syndicate, naming herself as nemesis as a reference to her past self she manages to heal a substantial amount, finally having: a) a group that lets her speak (which is SO important for her, its actually the key to her entire arc) and b) socialization! however this takes a big turn, when she hears that wilbur's back she tries to play it off, then goes the l'manhole or l'crater, reminisces about wilbur betraying her (may i note the rocketduo where she looks pointedly at manifoldland and says "and GOD you deserved so much better dgsayufasyufgasuy) she grabs wilbur's diamonds, some of the first ever items she got in the SMP, then hides them in the wall, as a sign of her closing off from wilbur

PHHOOOOOOEEY THAT WAS A LONG ONE

okay so imma go with this writing cause its fun. so, you asked a few questions in response to the ask you gave me!! so lets go 1) why does she feel betrayed by wilbur? because she was one of the first people she met (canonically) on the SMP. he promised her that it would be a land of peace, prosperity, but she started loving it BECAUSE of wilbur. case and point: when wilbur asks whether she's loyal to l'manberg, she goes "yes, i'm loyal to you, wil." "no, no, not to me- to l'manberg" she quite literally wore his coat around the SMP as a symbol of her friendship and dedication towards him, because they were honestly the best of friends, and she THOUGHT she knew it. points out) and its the way she's learnt to do things. also remember: c!Niki is an unreliable narrator, that's the whole point of her character. it's a response to trauma (as @tubboblr pointed out) you're also probably wondering why she burnt down the l'mantree. and it's not because she "finally realized that l'manberg was bad" it was actually really simple: she wanted to be heard. she had been beaten down and talked over SO much (aka the BASIS for her arc) that she's so desperate to be heard she'll take desperate measures. another reason is because she finally loses hope in l'manberg. she loved it, loves it, but she just lost hope in it. she never hated it. she LOVED it, with all her heart. she just didnt believe it had any hope to be the place she had thought it was. if you have any other questions, let me know!!

so in this au different soulmarkers develop at different ages

So when V’s little he’s super excited to meet his sm, bc his parents are soulmates and everything he’s seen abt them is so sweet and exciting!

He turns six and doesn’t develop a timer, which is what he was hoping for

But that’s ok! There are tons of other soulmarkers!

And then he doesn’t develop a soulmark when he’s seven

Or a sentence on his wrist when he’s eight

And he can see colours

So he’s starting to get nervous

And hey! Mom’s sick, and in the hospital, and she’s just not doing too swell

Roman, too, was entranced by the idea of soulmates. His parents aren’t soulmates, but they encourage his excitement about them!

His moms are so excited for him! They get him new paints and take him out to dinner to celebrate.

And then he wakes up on his eighth birthday to words on his right wrist

He’s a little pissed

His moms take him to the doctor bc “wtf why does he have TWO soulmarkers?!”

The answer is that he has two soulmates

So while he is ecstatic and ready to parade his soulmarkers around the school, his moms are a little less happy and a little more worried

They may have made the suggestion that he wears long sleeves most days, those ones that he hates because they will not roll up

But he did what they asked because they’re his moms, and he loves them very much

And then a few years later on his birthday he’s typing up a short story for school

His Mami and Dad are soulmates (he doesn’t think they should be)

They fight a lot, and sometimes Dad’ll hurt Mami, especially at night when they think he’s asleep

And he’s heard Mami on the phone with his Tia, talking about court cases? And laws, and soulmates?

Needless to say, he isn’t all too enamoured with the idea of soulmates

When he’s seven he gets a soulmark, some bumps over his heart, which is a little distressing

He’s never met this person, but he’s supposed to spend his whole life with them?

He’s very scared that his soulmate will be like Dad

And then he develops the words “Bold of you to assume I can stop talking” on his right wrist

And then a string when he’s nine.

He doesn’t tell his parents about any of them. “Soulless” people existed, and he knew his Mami was hoping he was one of them.

And then later that year Mami sits him down and tells him that she’s going to live with his Tia until she can find her own apartment, and that she and Dad aren’t together anymore

He steals Mami’s concealer and puts it on his wrist everyday to cover the words there

The only one he doesn’t cover is the soulmark on his chest, which he almost never sees because of his shirt

He tries not to get too close to people, but he usually fails and so he has a very small, very tight friend group

So he goes over and gets the idiots to leave and

And Roman is just so happy

Just grins so wide and there’s tears, and he leaps up and hugs Roman so tight

And Roman is so freaking happy!!!! He asks Patton for his contact because duh and Pat’s like

So they figure they can talk over the phone because Patton does have a phone for calling

So they have a cute first date and they fall in love and everything’s good and dandy and Roman’s going to college but Patton’s found this real nifty job that just so happens to be right next to Roman’s college so they move in together and Patton knows about Roman’s other sm and Roman knows about Patton’s other sm

And Roman’s in a lecture now

And he didn’t really notice but he’s been muttering

And he’s just kinda sitting there when he hears it from the guy next to him

So he looks up and here’s this ethereal looking dude with gorgeous brown eyes and dark hair and

He curses every known god for making his first words to his soulmate be a meme

They excuse themselves from class because holy shit

And Logan introduces himself shakily

And Roman asks for his number

And they go on a date where Roman tells him about Patton and Logan mentions having a soulmark over his heart

Logan is really hesitant to join their relationship bc he was hoping he would never meet his soulmates

So they don’t put a label on it right away

But they go on a few dates and hang out a bunch and Logan realizes that he actually really, really likes these guys and he doesn’t really want to live the rest of his life without them

So he talks to them and tells them about some of the stuff that happened when he was a kid

Roman and Patton are horrified but they hug him and promise that they will never lay a finger on him if he asks them not to 

And Logan just has a moment of “These guys love me. Like actually love me. And want me to be happy. And I think I feel the same?” 

So on their next date Logan asks both of them to be his boyfriends and obviously they say yes

And basically they’re just all really in love

They move into a bigger apartment together at the beginning of year two

So then they’re all cuddling one day when Logan tells them about his string

And so the other two are like “oh shit is there another???”

And Roman says that on his eleventh birthday he just suddenly had this name pop into his head but he just assumed he’d wanted the name for a character so

And Patton says that after getting his soulmark AND a timer he didn’t think to check for anything else

So they’re all kinda like well whoops let’s hope we still meet them!

And Patton’s at his job one day when this guy walks in and he’s one of the new employees

Pat’s got his seeing eye doggo with him but the vest is off cuz they’re both on break

And so V’s like “oh cool dog can I pet him?”

Bc usually he would never just go up and ask but he literally can’t stop himself because here’s this adorable dude in front of him and the universe is screeching at him to say hi

And Pat hears his voice and immediately falls in love

“Oh, yea sure! She’s my eye dog, but she’s on break so it’s all good!”

And V meets Pat and his dog

And they end up exchanging numbers because they are coworkers and well

So a couple days later, after him and Patton have been talking a lot, Pat invites him over

So V goes over and meets Roman and Logan

And Roman tells him what’s up

But they’re not really sure how he’s connected to Patton but then he just

So they take Virgil on a date and stuff and they make it official

And Virgil’s a little nervous bc like those three have been together for a while now and he feels like he’s intruding

But he talks to Logan and L understands bc Roman and Patton had been dating for 2+ years when he found them

He promises that V is not intruding and that they all really love him

And Virgil just full on starts crying because he hasn’t felt this loved since before his mom died and he loves his bfs so much

They find their bfs and just cuddle all night
