Hobie helping the reader through a Weed Panic Attack

Thinking about how Hobie would comfort you from a weed panic attack. Hear me out. 

You guys were in Hobie’s boat, you guys being Hobie, Miles, Gwen, Pavitr and yourself. You're all just sitting in his main room, Hobie has his joint in hand, you have yours, and it's all going well. Well, until it's not. You notice yourself zone out and you can tell it's kicking in, but not the way you're used to. 

You suddenly don't want anybody to look at you, to talk to you or perceive you. You would be messing around on your phone right now if not for the fact that you're in Hobie’s dimension you can’t get internet, so there is only so much you can do. You stare at the ground, trying to hide as much of yourself as you can, Hobie notices that you aren’t really doing well and calls our to you

“Oi. You alright? Need to take a breather?”

As everybody in the room looks to you, you immediately take him up on his offer, stumbling swiftly out of his room, and then immediately swing onto the roof of his boat. Your heart starts to pick up its pace as you sit down on a higher part of the roof and begin to steady yourself. You're in a position where you can feel yourself uncontrollably bouncing your knee and you assure yourself that you're fine and that this will just pass, but God, it doesn't. The sign that something major was happening to you was that your breathing started to pick up as you began to panic. As if he knew that something was up, Hobie came swinging into the roof to make sure you were okay. He was immediately by your side, putting his hand on your shoulder and rubbing your back.

“Hey. Hey, what's going on? What'ya panicking over man? It's all good.”

As he remains by your side, comforting you through your panic attack, you feel yourself begin to calm down. Your legs stop bouncing, your racing heart finally steadies and you begin to breathe at a natural pace. Glancing at Hobie, you notice a subtle expression of relief on his face, though no words are exchanged. As you turn away, a hint of embarrassment lingers as you avert your gaze

“Thank you, Hobie… Sorry, that happened. I really don't know what happened, or why that happened. It's, uh, never happened before and-”

“Nuthin to be sorry over, jus’ glad you're okay.” He cuts you off and takes out another joint out of his pocket. It's one of the biggest joints you've seen in person, He's obviously been saving this one. He takes out his lighter and lights it, then passes it over to you with a smug look.

“Wan’ the first hit?” He snickers.

“Ha! No, I'm good. Have fun with that though.” you smile as you smack him in the arm, earning a laugh from Hobie as he takes the hit. 

He walks over to the edge of the roof. As he goes to jump down, he turns back to you and flashes you a thumbs up, clearly asking if you're okay by yourself. You return his thumbs up and he jumps down to go back to the living room while you stay on the roof to properly gather yourself.

He quickly folds the long side of the blanket and places it beside you so you will not sleep on the cold floor of the ship and your body will be covered at the same time.

Then, he gently (he doesn’t know how he managed that without waking you) lays you down onto the pillow and blanket and absolutely tucks you in as tight as he could, THEN RUNS BACK TO HIS QUARTERS.

Poor boi sleeps with only his cot, no blanket no pillow but he doesn’t mind because.. as long as you’re comfy <3

yesterday, two of the four Holostars Guild TEMPUS members met up for an offline collab: Magni Dezmond (self-proclaimed alchemist and inventor of copium), and Regis Altare (guild leader and rumored serial killer based on his hobby of going on 3am walks, as seen in this clip)

the collab was a lunchables and candy mukbang mostly sweet and goofy, just guys being dudes, except there was a running gag where every time Altare wandered off to do a thing, Dez would start whispering to chat like "help, please, get me out of here" kind of stuff, and at one point he made a message with their pizza lunchable:

Altare, meanwhile, made a show of being affectionate and silly, multiple times encouraging Dez to make a heart with their hands together. Dez thwarted this the first time by making a thumbs up and copying their stream thumbnail art, which is this:

but then later they actually made a heart, which Dez immediately turned into the thumbs up again, which Altare went serial killer mode and "attacked" him for; while Dez was calling for help to the chat his voice got cut off and the stream ended suddenly.

🚀- Do you like to outline your fic first or create as you go?

Little bit of both! The first wall of text just happened in my phone notepad while I was 100% supposed to be putting books away, but when I got back to my pc I put together an outline cus frankly the last fic I got any distance into fell apart cus I wrote myself into a corner and I don't want that to happen again. That being said, the oneshot was a 3 hour manic episode that just sorta poofed into my head fully formed, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ bit of both! I think I prefer an outline though, for the sake of my sanity lol

🧪- do you research for your fics?

Er. Yes and no. Did I spend an ungodly amount of time pouring through literal actual medical journals that I have access to as a librarian to make sure I knew what the fuck i was talking about? Yes. Did i throw that information out the window later because it was inconvenient and fuck it they're both deities anyway? Also yes fjdjdksk i've gone over entirely too much in game stuff to make sure I'm not making up toooo too much, but I also have a tendency to throw accuracy into the wind for the sake of either simplicity or 'this is a bit handwavey but Vibes Harder'

💌- is there a favorite trope you like to write?

I was gonna say this is a hard one to answer because I just haven't written that much But-

There's a very Whumpy lean to everything I've written, finished or unfinished, and it frequently takes a sort of long term inevitability bend at some point. In the One fic I've posted (and abandoned since) Bakugo was going to recover, eventually, but he was going to have to figure out either how to be a hero without his eyes or ears, or find another purpose to strive towards. There's a pile of AAA in my notes about Fi, and how the master sword slowly rotting away over tens of thousands of years must have felt, when she hadn't been able to speak since the very first hero, when she'd been imprisoned inside this rusting breaking frigid metal. The oneshot is essentially a trauma flashback, the whole thing; and the big one is a fistful of excuses and headcanons for why the statues work the way they do, why the traveler can increase their stamina by making offerings to them, what effects having a massive part of yourself sealed away might have, where the energy to wield elements even comes from etc all balled up into a very specific kind of whump and my utter bullshit nonsense shenanigans to heal said specific whump fjdjdkdkk it's a whole mess
