His turning point is when Arthur is shot and falls into a coma for a month. They get treated at a hospital and while John waits for Arthur to wake up so they can carry on, the body itself still gets taken care of. The time John spends alone, contemplating on humanity & everything he’s seeing and learning from Arthur, as well as the way a certain nurse speaks to him every day (specifically, she greets him good morning and good night, despite the body being unresponsive, John still hears because he is an entity linked to the body) and calls him John (they didn’t have ID on when they were found so they were classified as John Doe), changes his outlook and plans for good, and he asks Arthur to call him John; from this point on he admits he cares for Arthur, looks for his wellbeing too, and in general attempts to be a better person and to live for himself. The rest of the podcast (ongoing!!) explores Arthur & John’s relationship, struggle to survive, adventures in the eldritch… All while tackling each of their issues with themselves and each other and watching them both grow. John in specific learns to be the person he wants to be, how sometimes you’ll take a step forward and two backwards; he can be cruel and manipulative sometimes but he still tries. Personally I love his journey, it’s very realistic and you can see he is trying his best, and how he wants to be better than he was as the King In Yellow, and how much Arthur has changed him and how much he cares about him because of that; and how he’s slowly growing into being his own person :) if it ends badly ill cry so hard but!!! he’s John Doe because that’s the name he was being addressed as, and he’s made it his, and being John means he’s no longer the King and that he wants to be different, and John can fail or make mistakes but it’s part of who he is now, and that’s what matters. * Hes the single reason why the guild infirmary is always having to restock

* Due to Grays multiple usages of iced shell some of his body did turn to ice, most sections of his bones, it looks like a normal bones but it acts like ice, which means hes more likely to break a bone

* unfortunately, its not like a normal broken bone for obvious reasons. itll splinter and have hairline cracks all over the bones before it breaks.

* It takes less time to heal than a normal break, he just has to get it wrapped and limit his usage of his magic so it can ‘heal’ (as in, ice it over again) the breaks and cracks. It takes less time to heal and also less pressure to break, win lose situation tbh

* Which is also why head wounds are especially dangerous for him, skull fractures are more common for him than anyone would like, which is to say any at all

* His external body temperature is low and causes him to bruise like a peach, getting a friendly slap on the back can cause him to bruise for weeks, especially from Erza

* bro hasnt gone a day without a bruise in like ten years

* Hes been dragged to Porlyusica so many times now that anytime she sees him (on the field, in her office, even completely out of context and hes not visibly injured) its like second nature to check him out first

* if she could go a month, or even just two weeks! without seeing him she might consider changing her views on humanity (probably not but its the thought that counts)

* Also Gray has small sections of what people think is frostbite on his hands and feet. It doesnt hurt or limit him at all but theyre there, showed up some time post devil slayer magic

* ALSO! His blood runs slower and is darker due to his low body temperature, causes him only the vaguest of problems but its a thing (this is common in most powerful ice wizards)

* His team was also extremely unimpressed by these explanations

* Erza and Natsu (and also Happy) strong armed him into going to Porlyusica for actual helpful solutions since he refused to go to his actual doctor

* While Lucy and Wendy disposed of the full fucking pharmacy (seriously, he coulda started a business or smth) he had in his bedroom

* For some odd reason he felt lighter and less moody when he was on actual helpful medication and was getting genuine rest

* and if his team checks his house for another pharmacy in the making thats nobodies business but theirs

* Also Erza tried to ban Gray from caffeine while on a quest , or at least limit it, but he looked at her like she was absolutely batshit crazy to the point she got embarrassed and had to retract the ban

* Most the guild still had no clue where he was from so they were really just running in circles for awhile

* so for months he was bombarded with ‘subtle’ questions about his hometown and its culture, which got shut down most the time

* Thats not to say he didnt give them anything, he gave them enough that they were incorporated into existing traditions and holidays they already celebrated

* But Natsus got this thing about him that makes him think he can do the impossible, which includes shaking Grays world view and comfort levels

* At some point in their teens Natsu would not let go of the alleged fact that Grays didnt like being touched for some reason, so he did what he does best and pressed the issue

* it ended with Gray being a puddle in his lap while he had a crisis about everything he thought he knew about himself while Natsu celebrated his victory against him

* Its not completely public knowledge but the guild most definitely knows at least a little about how much Gray is touch starved

* he doesnt openly welcome it with open arms but if its happening and he trusts the person hes not gonna say no

Ever since you and Steve started dating, you had a tradition of having movie nights at his house once a week. It was something the both of you could look forward to, a way to make sure you would have time alone together.

Somehow, you’d avoided watching a horror movie. Until tonight. It was Steve’s pick and he chose something scary for once.

You were nervous, not because of the scary aspect, but because you had a tendency to faint when things got too graphic, too intense.

It was something that just happened, and up until now, Steve had never witnessed or known about it. You decided you’d try your best to tough it out through the movie. To avoid passing out and embarrassing yourself, not to mention worrying Steve. Because he was a huge worrier.

The two of you decided to go back to Valkyries apartment after the meeting with the grandmaster. You both needed to talk about what you want to do with the current situations. Do you help Thor or the Grandmaster?

While you wanted to help Thor, Valkyries decision wasn’t very clear, you noticed that she’s been quieter than usual after the encounter with Loki. It ended up being a rather quiet walk, along with some small talk here and there.

You’re not sure what he showed her, something from her past maybe? It has to be. After knowing her for two years, nothing gets her this quiet. She even told you some time ago that she’s somewhat mournful of her history, though she was a drunken mess. You were surprised that she confided in you, that she was emotionally open and vulnerable with you at that moment.

As soon as the door opened, you beelined to the spare room she gave you. “Let me get some things, I won’t take long” you told her, leaving Valkyrie in the main room.

Val makes her way towards the big window, staring out to the city of Sakaar. Going through your things, you put whatever weapons or tools in a satchel of yours that you felt were essential to your plan. Well, at least the basics, you had no plan yet.

During that time, Val reflects on what Loki unfortunately showed her. The battle between Hela and the Valkyrie. The massacre of her fellow warriors. Specifically, the murder of the one she truly loved and cared for. She can’t help but replay that awful memory in her head. She also can’t sort out if the feelings she had for her are similar to the ones she has towards you.

You finally exit your room, making the prized scrapper snap out of her contemplative state. You put your satchel on the table and start to look for some tools that you swiped and stashed, thinking it might be helpful to whatever you were going to do.

Finally organizing your bag on the counter, Valkyrie brings out her dragonfang sword to place it on the counter as well, still kind of in her mind. Something finally clicked in that buzzing brain of hers, making her stop in her tracks and lifting up her head to see the back of you.

After double checking if you have everything, you’re just about to close tour satchel when you freeze up to the feeling of arms around you waist and a head resting on your back. Calming down, you remember it’s only you and Val in this apartment.

“Valkyrie?” you say in a quiet tone. “Yes?” she replies the same way, staring off at the floor. You both stand there trying to process what the other was doing.

“Why are you hugging me?” you asked.

“I’m not sure..” she says, her voice giving no hints on what she’s feeling.

You both aren’t sure what’s happening at the moment, your heads and hearts racing. You’ve wanted this but why now? Can you be excited about it? Would her feelings fade after a while?

Valkyrie isn’t too sure, she knows now that she’s completely enamored with you but would it be worth it? Can she be that vulnerable with you without getting drunk? What is she so afraid of? What if she loses you? She definitely doesn’t want to go through that again.

“..Do you want me to let go?” “Not yet.” You result on just asking her, the answers she’s giving you aren’t enough for you to know what’s going on with her.

“Val are you ok-” “I think I’m in love with you” she says almost breathlessly.

Silence fills the room, good or bad you haven’t the slightest idea but she definitely got you off guard. Processing the words that just came out of Valkyrie’s mouth, you try to sort out your own feelings though it painfully mutual.

“Say something, y/n.” she pleads, giving you a small squeeze as an idea fills her head.

You feel her head rise, her breath feeling close on the back on your neck. She gives a slow kiss behind your ear, letting her lips linger for a few seconds before giving a small peck. This surprised you, making a shiver go up your spine and goosebumps appearing on your arms and shoulders.

“You’re not messing with me right? Like this isn’t some sick way of you trying to get at something?” you ask as you turn your head to the side, seeing her look at you from your periphery.

“Why’d you think that?” she asks, wondering why you’re being so cautious about this. You shrug in response, looking down and seeing how she’s clinging onto you.

Always catching yourself staring at her arms, you took the time to appreciate them this close. She has small tears in the armor’s fabric speckled around from those shes rumbled with.

You then start to play with one of them, twirling it between your thumb and index finger as your wonder how she got that specific one.

“I know I pestered you a lot but that was just banter” she chuckled out.

“Wasn’t just banter, most were tricks too” you answer back with a matter of fact tone.

“They weren’t harmful though were they?” she says teasingly, squeezing you once more.

“Guess they weren’t.” A sigh leaves your mouth as you find you’re still fidgeting with the torn fabric.

“Look how about this,” she says while turning you around to face her.

Valkyrie looks down at you endearingly, her hand lifting and tilting your head to the side. She lowers her head towards you neck, pulling you in as close as she could by your waist.

Kissing where your throat meets the underside of your chin, you closed your eyes as Valkyrie nips lightly at the piece of skin. The feeling had you in a daze, moving your hand up to gently grab her upper arm.

“I’ll give you a proper kiss if you make it back alive, that gives you time to think about it too” she says as she lifts up her head to meet your face.

“Wait, “if”?” you ask, looking up at her. Though she expected it, she couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight of your flushed face.

“Okay okay, when you survive. C’mon don’t forget your bag” she tells you as she places the strap on your shoulder.

Still in a haze, you’ve forgotten about what was happening regarding the situation. You feel her grab your hand and drag you towards the door. “Wait where are we going again?”

“We’re gonna help the Asgardian prince, assuming he hasn’t left yet.” You look at her in awe as she finally stated her position on the matter.

Your feelings have always been there for her, hoping that something as cheesy as her kissing you after an out of the blue brawl. So in the end, there would be nothing to “think about”.

You do want to be with her, you just didn’t think she’d be the first one to make a move, a bold one at that. Maybe when you do survive the imminent battle with Hela, you can show her how to properly ask someone out.

I had to tell him and I think I started to fall in love with N. again. The night with him was incredibly........ hot, but not only because of that. N. has changed. He was so cute. Of course he was still crazy and maybe still a bit too demanding, but that's ok for me and I can handle it.

Also I never would have let go of Daniel so fast with any other guy. But with N.... all the feelings and emotions I had for him, were still there. I had only "repressed" them, when he left a year ago. But I’ve always known, that Nico is someone special to me, whether we’re apart or together. Idk why it was like that, bcs he wasn’t really nice to me at the beginning, as you know. But I knew he loved me. I think he just couldn't handle his feelings/emotions for me really well in the past. And if I'm honest, I wasn't easy too. I was a challenge for him. Not just for him. For my family too. It was an intense time and Nico was constantly under enormous pressure because of soccer. I just didn’t mention it so often back then. I believe that all those factors played a part and triggered his anger. It was too much for him. I was too much for him. And there was also this thing with his dad, who was a total ass. This man made Nico so MAD, that he didn’t like my Dad either, and so it came to all those probs with my family too.

Also, his ex showed up! I couldn’t stand her whole fake pity show. And it hurt me like hell to see her & Nico together. I swear, Philip and Natasha were NOTHING compared to that! I ran away as usual. But I’ll tell you next time.

like you’ve got cas refusing to consider killing sam bc he wants to idk prove himself to dean

you’ve got mary and john being mad about raising kids to hunt and sam defending john

you’ve got sam’s rewriting of john: like he tells young john that his dad died trying to protect him, but dudeee john told dean he might have to kill you on his death bed

you’ve got dean trying to protect mary from the truth but ultimately realizing she deserves it (i love this one bc dean is consistently about people being honest with him)

you’ve got sam being honestly kinda cruel when telling mary to leave john so she doesn’t curse her kids, which there’s some truth to that but that is NOT the right way to say it sam (i genuinely don’t know how people think sam is good at like “therapy”)

you’ve got michael being creepy with dean and saying he doesn’t want to fight lucifer but still disagreeing about following a father’s orders and destiny and the advent of team free will

you’ve got sam starting to believe that maybe this is their destiny and dean strongly denying it (hot take but sometimes i really think sam and michael are the stronger parallel)

omgosh anyway sorry for the long recap but i guess i’m just wondering if there’s anything you would have done differently with this episode? specifically regarding how these themes were shown

Regarding Cas:

I don't think Cas wants to prove himself to Dean. I don't think he needs to, and I don't think he thinks he needs to right now. (In fact in 5.02 he suggested that Dean owes him). Everything Cas is doing is born of mutual solidarity with Dean in rebellion against heaven. If they don't succeed, they're all going to die—and so will everyone else. Cas has the entire host of heaven after him. Even fellow rebels like Anna and Gabriel dislike him. Gabriel resents Cas for his hopeless quest to find their father, and Anna hates him because he betrayed her in 4.21 and made no efforts to help her.

The only person Cas has in the world right now—the only person he can lean on or count on in any way—is Dean (see: 5.03). By extension, because of their shared love for Dean, Cas also has the people with whom Dean associates (Bobby, Sam, Ellen, Jo). There is protection and shelter through loyalty—through the found family. Cas calls Sam his friend in 5.13, but they haven't really had any bonding experiences on screen the way Dean and Cas have. I think for Cas, it's as simple as Dean is Cas's friend -> Anyone Dean cares about is also Cas's friend and worthy of his protection.

I also don't doubt that Cas is aware that Dean's well-being is tied to the family's well-being and the family's well-being is tied to Dean's well-being. I also don't think he's unaware of the fact that Dean can't weather more harm to their cobbled-together family. Sam and Dean's relationship is deeply scarred and trying to recover (but we see in 5.05 and 5.12 that Dean is struggling with it, and Cas specifically knows this from 5.03 when Dean opened up to him about it). Bobby is dealing with being recently paralyzed and is suicidal (and Dean's outright told Bobby that he can't handle losing him). Ellen and Jo just died a few episodes before. We're about to be reminded again how badly Dean is cracking open in 5.14.

Cas's actions with Anna are cold and calculated—ruthless—because he can't risk any further harm to the family unit—especially not any that might risk rupturing their heart (Dean). In that regard, Cas's actions toward Anna in 5.13, while ruthless, are in character (Also see: wanting to kill Jesse, torturing Donatello, plotting to kill Kelly, working with Sam to use The Book of the Damned).

Regarding Sam rewriting John:

I think the truth is that Sam doesn't care that John told Dean to save him or kill him. I mean—a part of him definitely was traumatized by it—but in 2.11, Sam says John was "right to say it" and he continues to push that narrative through season 2. I think the thing that really makes Sam angry is that it was kept from him. But the stuff related to Stanford and being raised a hunter—Sam forgives John for all of that, and we've known that for a while. We saw Sam start to soften and empathize with John's desire for revenge by 1.02. Then there was 1.08, 1.20, 2.02, 4.19.

Sam's lack of sugar-coating:

We can make note of this one also in 4.19 with Adam, in 4.20 with Jimmy, and in 5.06 with Jesse (though Sam does try harder with Jesse). I don't think he intends to be cruel to Mary, but by this point, Sam has kind of made a name for himself telling people their futures are fucked. This also feeds into your last note about Sam believing in destiny. Of course, Dean also jumps to say that Sam is right and Mary should just not have kids.

I don't know if there's anything I would have necessarily done differently, besides motivate Anna a little better. Her actions are rational, but they don't feel true to her character from season 4. By this I specifically mean her plotting to trick Sam and Dean into a trap, when they (especially Dean) had risked their lives for her in 4.09 and 4.10. She actually uses Dean's loyalty to try and trick him into meeting her, and the only reason it doesn't work is that Cas doesn't trust her and refuses to let Sam and Dean go to meet her. Given that the lack of loyalty and love among the angels was a primary motivation for Anna's fall, I would have appreciated further explanation behind her betraying Dean in this way—through his loyalty to her. I am likely meant to infer that her stay in prison included brainwashing that created this effect, but I don't know... it just feels off.

RTC headcanons: Noel Edition!

Noel has a middle name, he just hates it being used or mentioned or ever brought into the light. When Constance asked him one day what it was, he whispered, quite mortified, “Lawerence.”

Noel enjoys black tea. Not coffee, no sugar. Just black tea. The others don’t understand why but they do support his odd drink choices

Noel actually doodles like a tattoo artist. He has indeed doodled what he would believe to be Monique’s tattoos and more possibilities for tattoos because he gets bored very fast

After Noel’s suspension from Grade 7, his mom just laughed and let him watch all his favorite movies until the sun came up

Noel loves indie music, he even knows how to play the piano. Because of Mischa’s influence, he got into rap and because of Penny is also a Swiftie

Noel’s deep rooted hatred of Ocean stems from her being incredibly homophobic as a preteen. She would argue that being gay isn’t biological, and only apologized after she learned Noel was gay, but he knows she only did it to uphold her reputation

When Noel realized he had developed a crush on Mischa was when Mischa gave him a bracelet of the gay flag for his birthday. Noel still has the bracelet but doesn’t wear it bc he doesn’t want Mischa to know he had feelings for him

Noel and Constance are still friends, just less close than when they were kids. Sure sometimes Constance will go over to Noel’s place when his mom wasn’t around and they’d make cupcakes for each other and maybe Noel would stand up to Ocean for Connie, but when they were little they were thick as thieves

Noel actually commissioned Ricky for his first drawing of Monique. Ricky did it in four days and didn’t want his friend’s money, but Noel still gave him the 45$ he owed him

He always puts himself in front of all of you and you are scared he will get hurt

He makes your life so much better

Steve always brings a smile onto your face

And you feel so comfortable around him

You know you can tell him everything (except that one truth) and he won't judge you

Although he is a goofball he can be very serious

And you know he feels comfortable around you too (he even confided in you about his strained relationship with his parents and his uncertain future bc of his grades and college)

You always try to make sure that he believes in himself (after graduating high school and losing his title and status as king Steve he has become a little insecure and it’s obvious he doesn’t think he is smart enough)

Also Steve remembers the little things (like your ice-cream order, the film you get when you had a bad day or your favorite song)

Besides, Steve makes you feel safe. Even though you know he can't protect you from Vecna you feel less scared and hopeless when is with you

And you know he will do anything to protect the kids, his friends, you

But your heart is still pounding like crazy as you're suiting up and preparing to head into the upside-down

Into battle

At first Steve refused to have you on “his team”

He wanted you to stay with Max claiming they would need someone to look after them

But there is no way you're letting him go down there without you

Especially after he nearly got killed by Demobats the last time

The images still sent shivers down your spine although you have to admit seeing Steve without a shirt was definitely a look

Nancy and Robin are the ones that convince him that you are capable of taking care of yourself

but it still makes you feel hurt and a little humiliated

Apparently he doesn't believe you're good enough of a fighter

You're trying to hide it but of course he notices that you're a little off

“You have been acting weird. Everything okay?”

“Is that a serious question? We just walked through a portal into another dimension filled with monsters. Aren’t we all acting- weird?”

You brush it off at first but Steve knows you and that something is wrong

He keeps sneaking glances at you that you pretend not to notice

Nancy and Robin walk behind you, giving the two of you two a little space as you walk through the dark forest 

You're starting to think they are doing it on purpose

Eventually you tell him what bothers you and he is so surprised and immediately reassures you that it's not what he thinks

"But why did you want to leave me behind then? You know it sucks to be the babysitter!"

He looks a little sheepish when he admits that he doesn't want you getting hurt

"But you're going too! And so are Nancy and Robin. We can use all the help we get!"

"But I can't protect you here!"

You notice there is something very serious in this tone and find his eyes flicker to your lips for a second

"I can protect myself, Steve!" He lets out a sigh. "I know you do. But the thought of you getting hurt- it just-"

Your heart is beating like crazy when you wait for him to finish that sentence.

"I couldn't forgive myself if something happened to you. I can't lose you, okay?"

You feel like your whole body is melting under his intense stare and the emotion in his eyes. And his vulnerability gives you courage

"I feel the same way!"

Boy is actually shocked. You nearly laugh out loud. "You mean like-?"

"I like you, Steve Harrington. I have for a while now."

He is so surprised. "Why didn't you say anything?" 

You bite your lip, feeling insecure again. But hell if you're going to die you want him to know the truth.

"Because of this-", you gesture around, "and you never said anything so I figured you didn't feel the same way and I didn't want to make it awkward."

Steve frowns but there is relief and the hint of a smile on his face

"I never said anything, because I didn't think I would ever have a chance with you. But I gave you hints all the time!"

"Hints?"

"Yeah, like when I asked you to watch that movie with me- back to the future? And you turned it into a group thing. Or when I hinted that my parents aren’t home or a while so we would have the pool for ourselves but you full on rambled how upset you are at my parents for leaving again”

Now it's your turn to be surprised. But all that matters is that Steve feels the same way. Even in this cold and dark forest your heart swells with warmth

"Also Dustin has like the biggest crush on you. But he would kill me if he knew I told you."

You laugh out loud at that, so relieved, touched and hopeful even though you are about to fight Vecna

"Is this the part where you kiss me?"

He smiles and leans in and you don't care that Nancy and Robin are right behind you, you kiss him back like your life depends on it

Suddenly the battle seems much less scary

Because Steve likes you too

How death parade ended in my head(and somehow they are in the human realm don’t ask questions)

This is Decim & Chiyuki centric I might do one with Mayu & Ginti

Decim & Chiyuki

They are happy

Decim & Chiyuki are married

They have two girls(4 & 2) and are expecting another one, I’m pretty sure arbiters can’t have kids but I don’t care and Decim is a girl dad I don’t make the rules

Chiyuki goes to therapy and is in a much better place now and has come to terms with being unable to ice skate

Bc of therapy she has opened up an ice skating rink bc she wants others to feel the joy it had brought her

Her daughters adore ice skating and Chiyuki will tell them step by step instructions on how to perform certain moves

She is kind of like a coach for her daughters and other ice skaters

The customers love her

Her daughters all get in her & Decim’s bed, dressed in pjs, and listen to her read Chavvot. This normally ends with them laying between Decim & Chiyuki fast asleep while Chiyuki rests her head on Decim’s chest. Those are her favorite nights.

Now onto Decim

He’s still emotionless(kind of), the only people he shows emotion in front of is Chiyuki and his daughters

Decim was very scared about having their first daughter. Like extremely. Definitely more scared than Chiyuki

He bought every parenting book he could find, read through forums, consulted Chiyuki’s mother

He went to every appointment, class, everything

He was oh so very protective over Chiyuki during her pregnancies

He would prepare food(even though it tasted awful and was always burnt although she never told him that. She praised his inedible food)

He would massage her feet and back

He would try to do all the chores around the house but Chiyuki was like “I can do this. It’s okay. I know you’re worried but I’ve got this.”

Part of it stemmed from the fear of losing her and their baby and the other part was the fear of messing up bc of his inexperience. And he could not fail her again

As a father he is the best,

Though he is a bit of a pushover i.e letting them use Chiyuki’s makeup, making a mess with flour, painting on the walls, buying them anything they want

But he is very close to his daughters

He’s a stay at home dad and spends 24/7 with them

When Chiyuki comes home from the rink dinner will be prepared and him and the kids will either be passed out or playing together

It warms her heart

when she first saw him playing with their oldest daughter when her second hadn’t been conceived yet she burst into tears

Decim who is not very good at social cues was concerned, he stood up and ran to her

Then he was confused when he saw the smile on her face

She embraced him and kissed him, saying how lucky she was and she wouldn’t trade this for the world

At some point before the kids Decim was feeling sad and guilty and couldn’t sleep

She rolled over to face him and asked him what was on his mind

It took a minute for him to respond

He asked if she held any anger at him for erasing her memories, and that if he found a way to go back in time where she never got that injury and never died would she(this arose since he had been researching this exact thing, wanting to make her happy thinking that she wasn’t as happy as she could be with their life)

She told him no, she doesn’t harbor any I’ll will towards him and would never give up their life together that she has never been this happy before not even when she was ice skating she finishes it by saying that she loves him and she will never stop and he says that he loves her and would do anything to make her happy what he doesn’t say is he’d sacrifice his happiness and well being for hers

She kisses him and he holds her for the entirety of the night

Yknow I’m still mad that people think V in Saeran’s AE was out of character. I love V btw, but I feel like it’s so in character that he does this. This is a dude who just disappears completely in Jaehee’s route and doesn’t tell anyone anything. Like for 6 months no one has heard a word from this man.

Or even if he doesn’t drop off the face of this earth, he still disappears on his “trips” and in each single route, Seven is still under the impression his brother is safe. (Except for Jumin’s Route which I wonder what V told him for Seven to just accept and move on? I can only assume he further lied and reassured him.)

V is a very interesting character and his route added a lot more complexity to his situation and feelings. But I feel like some people were so fixated on his route, they forget the harm he’s caused in enabling Rika and calling it unconditional love in everyone else’s route. He holds accountability in trying to “save” everyone (including Rika) by keeping everyone blissfully ignorant in an effort to solve everything himself.

And even then in the Secret Ending episodes, Saeran snitched by telling Mint Eye Vanderwood, Saeyoung and MC’s location. And who pops up to go with them? V. He begs Rika to not involve innocent people, but she dismisses him instead asking what to do with him. And he says “do as you please”. Being a martyr ain’t gonna solve anything, MC, Saeyoung anf Vanderwood know too much now. She aint letting anyone leave.

Being complacent and an enabler isn’t a good thing. He even says in his own route that his unconditional love and enabling her was hurting everyone. That his sacrificial tendencies weren’t solving anything. MC helps him realize that he really shouldn’t do this alone.

We never got to see the full extent of it in the Secret Episodes bc he dies. So I find V in Saeran’s AE so well done bc in other routes he’s already fallen down the rabbit hole for Rika, and each route’s ending is basically him going further down for her. But we don’t see this bc all Routes are made in a specific order of information. We just know V is very mysterious. But Saeran’s AE? We experience his descent. Like it’s happening in front of MC.

I just feel like V is overly victimized by the fandom for them to conclude his out of character in Saeran’s AE, he is both a victim and perpetrator bc of his complacency and enabling. This isn’t to say he’s a bad person, the world isn’t blavk and white. I think V is a good person who only had the best intentions. But the AE holds him accountable more. The Secret Episodes, he died before he could be held accountable. And the other routes he disappears before he could be held accountable.

I do have a bias tho, as an older sibling, if anything happened to my little sister and I was constantly lied to that she was safe and she isn’t. I’d lose my mind, like I gave y’all one job to take care of a child what do you mean she’s a cultist now?

This can be said for a lot of characters honestly, people reducing Zen as a narcissist. Yoosung being obsessed with Rika and the whole “being in love with his cousin”. Jumin being heartless Or even Ray being reduced to an uwu baby, even when Danger Ray is shown to prove otherwise.

Jihyun is a complicated character just as much as Rika is. They were both unhealthy to each other in ways I don't even want to get into as it might take all day to get through what went down between them in the past and present. They weren't in a place to be in a relationship at all. They didn't need to be with each other basically, point blank.

They went into their relationship not for the sake of love, but for the sake of someone holding out for love saving them as a mask that was barely stuck on their face as it was to prove the devil couldn't be real only to realize she wanted to be him, not be with him, and the other looking for a muse to navigate his feelings through hers and make up for the past in which his father failed his mother. That's not what any person wants in a relationship.

They needed help with their problems. Had they gotten that when they needed it, things wouldn't have gotten to where they did. But, that's what makes the game so interesting in the first place. We're looking at people who're human and struggling to be alive. People who make mistakes and fuck up. A lot. You're right, though, every character here is struggling in some capacity and it's not the right flavor for some people. That's because they're human.

You're not going to like everyone you meet, guys.

That's why I love this game in the first place. These characters aren't just abstract fantasy. They've got depth and it's fun to think about! It makes me feel better to know that there are characters who, even at the best, still have a long road to go before they feel better. That part is what humanizes them. It's what makes us feel so strongly about all of them in the first place.

V is not a character you can point at and say, "He's bad! He's good!" It doesn't work that way. He's human. He's done some bad and good in his life. We can't look at it from a black-and-white perspective when our world doesn't even operate that way. People are going to make a lot of mistakes in life, intentional or not, and it's up to us to figure out what we're willing to have in our lives. If you don't want someone like V in your life, by all means.

But, I get tired of people saying this stuff, too. V wasn't out of his element at all. He will do things in the name of trying to save every person in the room, no matter what the details are. That's a part of his unchecked trauma, which he is well aware of because he's able to say "I can't abandon people like my father abandoned my father. No matter what, I can't."

Which is why he refuses to give up on Rika in Saeran's Route. That's why he sells himself out to Saejoong to protect her, knowing that it wasn't healthy or right, but also concluding that this would be about the only thing to keep Rika out of prison and in danger... while letting the twins be safe at that expense. There's a thought bubble you can click as well where he mentions that he's playing the role of a villain to make this work. He knows what he's doing.

The same way he knew what he was doing in the Secret Ending by bowing his head to Rika, begging her to only hurt him, only to travel to the cabin and take you and your little group back to Mint Eye. He will do things for the sake of not being his father, to the detriment of everyone in the room. Does that make him a monster? Hard to say, I think it comes down to your feelings on the matter.

Don't say that V is only a victim. V is a victim, he truly is. But he is also an enabler, and guilty of doing wrong, too. You can feel sympathy for him, of course, the same way a lot of people identify and feel for Rika, as long as you know that he's made mistakes and done wrong, too. I think that's important for people to think about... especially if you're playing through Saeran's After Ending which is all about taking your accountability and being willing to face it.

Even if that means you lose everything.

The truth is better than lies.

This can be applied to any character in the game. Any of them can be spoken about like this since they've all done or said things that might not be the best. That's coming from someone who loves Saeran quite a bit. I can tell you right now that he's done a lot of things that aren't good. But, I love him and understand what he's been through. I chose to forgive him and understand him, but that doesn't mean that others have to do the same.

But, if we're going to talk about characters who are morally grey, we need to talk about everything. You can't discount their mistakes and fuck ups just to point out something else. I try to avoid talking a lot about Rika and V in that vein because I've been here since 2016 and I am so tired of having the same debates come up over and over again about V and Rika.

You might be surprised to hear this but despite everything, V is like... my third favorite character because of how deeply complex he is as a person. I just never get to talk about it because it's too often people ignore the depth of his character. It's a shame people miss that talk when it's so blatant in his route where he says, "I did wrong. I need to make things right by speaking the truth. I accept responsibility and I know I'm at fault."

Since we’re on the topic, I find Xigbar’s interactions with Xion and her similarities to Luxu interesting.

He’s been in the loop on the replica program since at least early on if not since the very start but he treats her like any other member of the org. He knows, even if Xemnas doesn’t, that if the plan fails Master Xehanort likely will be back somehow and all the org will be vessels for Xehanort’s darkness in his pursuit of kingdom hearts. And maybe-

And maybe that rings a little too close to home with Luxu. Who had been told straight from the Master of Masters himself that he was meant ultimately, to be a vessel to trap darkness, to follow orders and proceed down a path he had no real choice in.

And maybe he looks at this puppet- this replica designed to mimic a keyblade wielder but which is more deeply, more truthfully, designed to be a vessel with possession in mind, who is alive and a whole individual person despite what himself and the others might say- despite what others and even himself might see reflected back.

And maybe he wants to give her some time to be a person, before she loses herself one way or the other to a plan she had no choice in being a part of.

This was supposed to be part of the chunk of thoughts on Xigbar and Xion but I rewrote that a few times and my points shifted and it felt weird tacking it on so here’s it separate.

I feel like Xigbar probably answered questions Xion had about things that Saix deigned not to answer bc of her replica status- and that possibly Axel or Roxas couldn’t help with, and that whenever they were sent on missions together that he sometimes sent her back early or otherwise wrapped up missions quicker so she’d have more time to hang out with her friends.

He knows she has a ticking timer on her life and I think he tries his best to encourage what happiness she can get in the most hands off way he can, like he can feel kinda sorry for her and her friends and how they’ll all fall apart when the time comes- but he’s been around so long there’s no need to really get himself involved and care just bc something about her tugs at long buried emotions.

Xion of course isn’t meant to notice really, beyond that surface level of friendliness, but occasionally stuff slips through from Xigbar here and there. Never enough for her to really think on it (at least not until years later on reflection), but enough that something subconsciously relaxes around him. They aren’t quite friends and he can be a bit rude but he’s like the coworker you seek out to chat with on breaks or your weird uncle that only gives life advice in riddles and has odd jobs for you that pay well.

Oh yea, that's pretty much how I see it. Though I had forgotten about the parallel with Nort planning on using the Organization for vessels and MoM using the apprentices as vessels for darkness. Much to think about...and weird uncle is probably the best description for his role in the organization haha

I could probably write essays about Xion, Luxu, and then also Xion and Luxu. But I think I'll save it for a comic where I feel like I'll have a better time articulating it.

Man, how WOULD Iris react to her friends asking her about the champions dragging her to hell and back??

She’d definitely freak out because they KNOW. They know what happens behind closed doors and the last person who found out got murdered for it. She already lost her grandfather, she doesn’t want to lose the last people she truly cares about

Maybe she’s try comfort Hilbert, telling him that he had no idea what was happening and it wasn’t his fault. He couldn’t have known, she really, really didn’t want to tell any of them what happened because she feared for their lives

Also so true King “This is Home” is definitely the Unova Kids in the Villain AU. They (slightly) don’t care about what Iris was done, or how she acts now, they just want their friend back. Now that they know that her new personality is the result of the champions abusing her mentally and physically, they have a reason to help her come back to them. To come back home where she belongs, not with the champions

But ough just Hilbert pulling her close and hugging her, trying not to cry right then and there because they’re comforting Iris not him. And just the other four joining the hug and telling Iris that it’s okay, they’ll help her, she doesn’t have to do this alone anymore, and that they’re sorry they never truly helped her in the past

Man Iris is just sobbing. She finally got genuine comfort and love from someone for the first time in years. Not like the champions who’d do it to mess with her head. And she’s clinging so tightly to them, scared that they’ll disappear if she lets go, but she’s knows that her friends can’t do anything, she won’t let them.

Because the last person who interfered died, and she doesn’t want the same to happen to the only people keeping her sanity intact. She’s BREAK if it were to happen

And Diantha knows just that

And the others tell her that she doesn't have to deal w the Champions anymore, that they're taking her away from them, and if they have to fight them then so be it, they don't care, they'll save Iris from them

And suddenly... Suddenly Diantha's there, the other champions too

"my, my, have I not told you that a champion doesn't cry, Iris?" She says, eyes glowing, the other champions w her, a Master Ball in hand.

And god Iris could just feel the dread and terror sinking in too, her hands were trembling as she slowly looked at Diantha, that lazy smirk on the Kalos Champion's face.

"you know, when Gengar had told me about your meeting with your friends, I paid no heed. Of course, you and Hau have your own friends, don't you?" Then she sighed, almost disappointed, "and now you want to battle us champions?"

Hilbert pulls Iris close to him, growling at Diantha, "she's not the only one, we'll battle you too. You're not taking Iris away from us."

Diantha laughs at that, then she snapped her fingers, and a strong psychic surge went through them, and then the others except Iris and Hilbert were held within Gardevoir's psychic hold. "You two.. well, I heard Iris always wanted to share that Champion title with you. Very well. If you two beat me in a battle, we'll leave them be, Iris." She then walked to the other side of the field, the same poise and elegance she always had. "But if you lose... Well, they can just say hi to your grandfather for us, then."

God imagine if that's how the others found out abt what really happened to Drayden tho cjmxnxm that he really didn't die of health issues, he was killed, by the champions no less

and Diantha's there waiting for them, calling out both Gengar and Gardevoir on the field, her hand over her Key Stone, the other outstretched towards them, "you two go first."

Hilbert finally lets go of Iris, but took her hand instead, telling her that they can win this, they have to, they will, and Iris, finally feeling some of the weight off her shoulders, nodded at him, and both of them called out Hydreigon and Emboar. Kyurem and Reshiram at the helm, waiting for the right time to attack, knowing full well Yveltal is on the other side of the field, waiting to be called out as well.

idk man like something just feels very wrong to me that he lets shea and stas get away with so much, especially when it comes to oversharing and spurring on the shipping when he’s a supposedly private person with his love life (or lack thereof), while blocking a girl for simply saying one time only she has a crush on him and that’s it. it jus doesn’t sit right with my soul and the fact that she looks like normal, non-influencer people with a normal (yet beautiful) body also makes me squint my eyes.

like i said in the other ask, clearly she made him uncomfortable, so he unfollowed her. he's allowed to do that, regardless of others in his life that might go above and beyond that. bc clearly those ppl don't make him uncomfortable, for whatever reason.

and like i've mentioned probably countless times before, i don't think colby knows the full extent as to what stas and shea do in the fandom and how many gcs they have with fans and what info they've told. and if he does, than that's on him to decide what to do or what not to do.

maybe he knows now since he's not really friends with shea anymore, but who knows.

also…………… stas and shea have normal bodies. as long as they're not hurting themselves to get those bodies, then they have a normal body. every body is normal. at the end of the day, they're all skinny girls. they're all beautiful girls.

i feel like i've had this conversation a bunch of times, so i would really appreciate it if we could stop trying to make him being into skinny girls a big deal. most men are into skinny girls. they're the beauty standard, so clearly most are gonna be attracted to them. that includes colby. and as a big girl myself, i don't care that he's into skinny girls. it's how he treats bigger size bodies that's important. if he rejects a big girl bc she's big, then so what. it would be worse if he pretended to like her when that wasn't the case. or only liked her in hopes that she would lose weight over time. that's WAY worse than just being upfront and saying "hey i'm not into you, sorry". we all have types, we all have ppl that fit or don't fit our type that we still reject. just bc he sleeps around or has as much fun as he wants, doesn't mean he has to accept everyone that throws love his way.

and we don't even KNOW his type. sure, we see who he follows, we see the girls we assume he goes out with, but that is a very small percentage of who he's probably actually been with. he probably keeps the girls he's actually into a secret and doesn't follow them at all.

i think ppl who think you’re always supposed to put your partner before everyone and everything are ppl who enable abuse. when you’re making a narrative they’re more important than anything, you should never be okay with ppl “saying bad thing” about them, basically never question them you make them doubt the ppl around them when they get worried about serious things like abuse or cheating. im not saying you should listen to every word ppl say but is it really insane to consider they’re not perfect or when you’re getting told the same red flag by many ppl it might be there. also tho that narrative helps isolate ppl and makes it easier for a toxic relationship to occur. like my friend listened to ppl like that so when ppl say bad about her partners she just ignores it bc they could do wrong so when her ex strangled her, she didn’t listen and went back and he did it again. thankfully she realized and left but even that took too long bc she was convinced he loved her and that when someone loves you they won’t hurt you bc she listened to ppl who said that shit. now she’s with a racist homophobe, despite being mixed and bisexual, and ignores his homophobia/racist shit bc “he doesn’t mean it like that, esp not at me” like when you raise ppl to prioritize romantic relationships over any other relationship in their life, you raise the chances of them being in shit relationship. and quiet fucking honestly i’m sick of ppl getting upset when you say you shouldn’t prioritize or hold romance above all else, esp when they get pissy they don’t have any real friends bc they alienated them for someone they barely even knew, then they get stuck in a long term thing with no escape. seriously, ppl need to value other relationships in their life more. i wish i could find ppl around me that do, it’s so annoying and lonely seeing your friends constantly date douche bags, cut you off bc you call it out, then expect you to pick the pieces up when they finally realize. im always gonna care but tbh i’m losing some empathy. why do you expect ppl to stick around, esp when the asses you date disrespect me too. im trans and the girl with the racist homophobe lets him be transphobic and doesn’t stop it and she misgenders ppl when with him so now i’m wondering if when she talks about me, she’s misgendering me and now i feel like i can’t trust her bc some man who disregards her wants and needs, from the very beginning, is more important than our life long friendship. i know i should walk away but she’s basically isolated herself, again bc of who she dates. i hate throwing that away but also she doesn’t seem to values friends. im sick of watching ppl ignore obvious red flags, ignore warnings about red flags, and getting surprised when exactly what i said would happen, happened, and then expecting me to, honestly care. like i genuinely don’t and i feel like a tool for it bc abuse is complicated but it’s like if they keep doing it and nothings helping them, it’s like waiting for a train wreck and i don’t wanna watch anymore crashes. idk. i hate it all. people just suck. at least where i live. i wonder if there are ppl out there who get it. if one day i don’t gotta live watching everyone around be used and abused. i hate it
