I have questions about Kaze and Avel!

How is Kaze related to Avel? Are they close? Who’s older? Would they meet the turtles or are from the samurai rabbit universe, in which case do they get along with Usagi and the other characters? What is Kaze and Avel’s dynamic like?

I honestly have a lot more questions but I’ll do these for now—

Kaze and Avel are biologically unrelated, they found each other when they were young and trapped in a really bad situation, and ended up adopting each other as siblings during it (FOUND FAM TROPE WOOO) Kaze is a couple of years older, but she doesnt remember her exact date or year of birth.

They are INCREDIBLY close.

Avel is one to be protectively jealous of anyone but him interacting or spending time with Kaze without him around. Very co-dependent on each other, some separation anxiety, all of that wonderful angst material if they ever get separated for too long. Kaze is overprotective older sibling coded, shes one to always be quietly hovering nearby to keep an eye on her younger bro, despite him being very capable of protecting himself.

Their dynamic? Avel is a feral little guy, and Kaze is the only one who can calm him down/is able to drag him away from causing trouble. Avel would never hurt her, and Kaze can easily pick him him up like a tired older sister and hold him back because he might be lacking some all important self preservation- Avel is also the only person shell willingly let come near and touch, shes incredibly "hands off, dont touch me" to everyone else and isnt afraid to break fingers to get that point across.

Unsure which AU these guys are in, but were going with ROTTMNT for now since its the most familiar setting to work with!

They probably meet the turtles or Yuichi at some point? Kaze would be quick to adopt Yuichi bc cmooon that lil adhd rabbit NEEDS an older sibling to keep him out of trouble, Kazes older sibling sixth sense would go off like crazy around him and shed want to protecc.

Avel on the other hand? Its "You. are annoying." at first sight for him, he doesnt want his big sisters attention being taken away from him and is thrown off by any sort of kindness not coming from Kaze being directed towards him. Same goes for the rise turtles, he really doesnt like Mikey or Leo at first (emphasis on Leo).

Kaze gets along with the turtles just fine, vibes with Raphs older sibling struggles, knows how to handle being around crazy younger sibling characters. Shes chilling quietly and just watching the chaos unfold, until she needs to grab Avel away from trying to stab Leo when hes not looking.

elrond & durin's friendship - yes. just the right amount of sass (and elrond forgetting that dwarves are mortal and not visiting for 20 years might be in bad taste), they are great together, please more

durin & disa - YES, shame they didn't give the dwarf women beards, but still, disa is amazing, they relationship is so precious to me

gil-galad - finally an elf with long hair, very noldor-looking, very nice, very nice (his golden robes are fucking obnoxious but oh well, he's a king, also real fandom-made Finrod would 10000% approve of that choice and would suggest adding some thousand shimmering jewels), he looks so done with everyone's shit and i love that about him (he's a russingon child you can pry this headcanon from my cold dead hands and you will still not succeed)

tyelpe - jesus where do i even start. he is fucking old but seeing his soft face just brings me so much joy. the softest, brightest boy, just wanting to make fancy jewellery, absolutely no harm will ever come to him. i adore him with every fibre of my being. he is so eager with his forge project, so eager to meet the dwarves, just so eager to learn; feanor would be so proud

also adar - it brings new, uncomfortable perspective of something most of us knew before, that the orcs and elves are not so far removed, and whether or not orcs deserve anything other than being stabbed. i always struggled with the bit in lotr where we see that they actually do not all want to fight and are very much slaves. it's uncomfortable to come to the conclusion that the world is not white and black and maybe orcs don't deserve only to be wiped out when their corruption is not of their doing. a nice touch i'd say.

The beast stands in front of the shaking creature behind him, his teeth permanently bared in an aggressive snarl. He growls at the bloodied assailant before him, his maw dripping with drool that has been tinged with the metallic tang of blood, his hackles raised, and his eyes never leaving his target.

The deer, however, is frozen in place, unable to do anything but tremble, but the hyena knows better than this. He is aware of how dangerous the animal can be when threatened. He simply hates to see them that way. The memory of when he had first met them claws it's way into his brain, painful, yet endearing.

Havik's feet hit the ground in thumping steps as he chases after the stranger that had attacked him. All he had wanted to do was figure out where they're from, who they are, study them, but now he has an arrow lodged in his shoulder. The dull throb doesn't phase him, and neither did the sharp stab as it entered his body, but it annoyed him to all hell. Now, here he is, chasing down this strange person that's seemingly nowhere to he found. All he has to go off of is a small blood trail left by them, but even that is scarce.

The trail leads him into a clearing, then it stops abruptly. Had they stopped bleeding and kept running? No. They're here somewhere. He knows they're here, but where? That's when he hears the slightest rustle of leaves above him, so he turns his gaze up to the trees. It takes him a moment, but he spots them hiding among the leaves and branches of a tall tree, arrow drawn and pointed straight at him.

"Clever thing," he rasps.

The words barely leave his mouth before an arrow sinks into his left eye, and for once, he shouts with pain. The searing sensation in his head is dizzying, and he almost drops to his knees, but the sound of boots hitting the ground and a loud yelp brings him out of the daze.

Havik rips the arrow from his eye socket with a sickening squelch, throwing it to the ground, and regenerating his eye with ease. Though his head pounds and his vision is blurry, he can make out the stranger's form attempting to limp away, but he's quicker. In a flash, he's on them, grabbing them by the back of their cloak like one would an animal by the scruff of its neck. They kick and scratch as Havik manhandles them to the ground, successfully subduing them. They squirm and fight for a moment, but once they settle down, Havik loosens his grip; a mistake. Teeth sink into his forearm and a blade follows shortly after, making contact with his throat, slashing it quickly, and the blood comes pouring out. He grunts and lets go of the person below him to hold his hand to his throat, more surprised than anything.

He heals the wounds quickly, only leaving faint scars to be remembered. When he takes his hand away from his throat and turns his gaze to the frightened stranger just feet in front of him, he can't help but admire their tenacity and how pretty they look splashed with the crimson hue of blood. Their expression is frenzied, eyes wide and lips parted as they pant and brandish their blade, still ready to put up a fight despite their injuries, so he puts up his hands in surrender and kneels to make himself appear smaller, hoping the gesture would send the appropriate message. The scarred man speaks, his voice rough and winded, asking only one question:

"What are you called, stranger?"

The hyena is brought back to the present by the sound of the assailant's body falling to the ground with a heavy thud, bloodied, beaten, and torn to pieces by the beast's teeth and claws. He drops huffs and drops his gaurd, turning to the deer behind him to tend to their wounds. They settle onto the ground, resting their head on the grass, grunting softly as the hyena laves his tongue gently over the gash along the deer's side. He hates to see his companion in pain, but tending to their wounds feels special. It's makes him feel wanted and needed, and it makes the deer feel cared for.

When the hyena has licked enough at the deer's wound, he shifts to lie down beside them, nuzzling into their jaw and whining as if to ask if they're okay, to which the deer responds, turning their head to give the scarred beast a soft lick to the muzzle, thanking him for all he's done.

Raahh I don't write much so I hope this is good. Thank you for the ask, cause I've been meaning to do a little bit of a lore drop <3

pokemans :) long ramble abt the symbolism behind the pokemon choice below the cut:

Asbel was actually a hard choice for me, his shonen-protag knight-wannabe basic bitch vibes are a little hard to pin down. I wanted to give him a normal type but also possibly a shiny one to represent how Asbel is simultaneously incredibly average (aside from the title he inherited and the powers Sophie gave him) and rather unique (personality-wise, people are drawn to his kindness and inner strength). In the end I picked Furret of the Walking Meme fame for a whooooole buncha reasons:

Firstly, though my pastel palette washes it down, shiny Furret is actually white and magenta instead of its usual brown and tan. It's actually kinda close to Asbel's ambiguous hair color and the white matches his cloak! Hooray for color coordination :)

Furret is the evolved form of Sentret, an early route normal type. Sentret is the scout pokemon and according to its dex entries it lives in groups and keeps watch over the others, akin to groundhogs or meerkats. In other words, it Proteccs(TM) (actually it only learns Protect via TM, like almost every other pokemon).

Strengthwise, Furret is... not good 😅 it suffers the gen II curse of having an abysmally low base stat total even for a fully evolved mon, with its best stat being speed followed by attack. Furret often serves as a utility or support mon instead, doing better in doubles where it can aid its partner with moves like Helping Hand (an Asbel move if I've ever seen one) and Follow Me (become a damage magnet for a round, a rather Asbel tactic). It can also run Trick, Sucker Punch, Knockoff, U-Turn, and Brick Break for more competitive settings, and its Frisk ability can scope out an opponent's held item in settings where that isn't given information. In gen IX it just recently got access to the previously exclusive hazard-removal/setup move Tidy Up (Asbel loves cleaning 😂) which could help Furret a little by boosting its attack and speed, either making its STAB(same type attack bonus) normal moves like Body Slam or Last Resort hit harder or possibly being Baton Passed onto another party member waiting in the back.

Furret has access to a shocking versatile movepool--- it can learn coverage moves for 13/18 types!--- but unfortunately lacks the stats to use them well, which lends to it being overlooked. In-game it can learn HM moves like Strength, Surf, Whirlpool, Cut, and Rock Smash, so it sometimes earns a temporary spot on the team as an HM mule 😅 (but that means it's HELPFUL! It can help its beloved partner navigate a difficult environment!) It can also set up rain or sun, it can Rest and Sleep Talk, it can run a Focus Sash Endeavor gambit, it can Toxic Orb Trick STABFacade. There's SO much Furret can do, the opponent will never know what to expect!! ...except an easy victory, because its stats are just terrible 😔

And that leads me to my final point of similarity, one that readers may have already noticed: Asbel and Furret are both SO underrated and I will defend them with my life 😤 The complaints and critiques against them are often valid, especially when compared to their counterparts like more nuanced protagonists or normal types with a BST above 415, but dammit that's my special little guy, can't you see his potential???? 😭 He means so much to me and he could mean so much to you if you could look past the initial scathing judgments of "this is silly, shallow, and not worth my time."

In conclusion, I love my pathetic little magenta guys 💜💜💜

Any protest Declan has to the situation can't be voiced on account of his tongue being collateral damage in the Pig's assault on his mouth with her blade. Probably because of his habit of talking shit, but the showboat isn't going to go pointing fingers or assigning causes to these things. His mouth hangs open and bloody, cut from mouth to neck in a way that's rendered his jaw too wrecked to close. The path of the blade may have been slowed if he had clenched his teeth shut, but he doesn't want to lose those. His mouth opened to avoid dental damage, which- looking back- maybe not the best move. Before the fog his mouth would be healed with no indication damage had ever happened by the time he finished a very flourished counter against the killer. How unfair. Cruel. Rude. He stumbles and it almost takes them both down.

Right. He needs to focus on what is, not what was or what could be. He's got a punctured lung- also courtesy the Pig- and a concerning amount of darkness circling in from the edges of his vision. The foggy atmosphere is colder than usual. The world is moving faster than he's used to, normal Declan keeps up easily. Outpaces. His feet struggle to work one in front of the other and an arm is draped over Dwight's shoulder. Poor little thing; the size and weight difference is too much for the boy to actually carry Declan, but he's doing his best. Hurrying, trying, desperate to lead them to safety. Declan is doing everything he can to keep pace and not topple the pair to the ground.

Part of the former deathmatch star wonders if he can break one of those hooks off their usual rigging and stab the damn thing through the Pig's stupid mask. Or maybe it's her head. He's seen stranger. The bloodloss coaxes his thoughts further and further from the here and now, and weighs and slows his limbs down. He's going to learn very soon just how long Dwight can carry both their weight, because Declan isn't going to be moving of his own volition for much longer.

Half AU idea half shitpost, all big brain: Wishing for more Gun!Kara might be a fandom staple, but it's an even bigger shame we never could get bby!Terminator Mode Alice in dbh. If anybody's every watched the first Kick-Ass movie or M3gan (a horror comedy scifi film about an growing-selfaware AI android made as a child's toy/companion that the lead inventor gave instructions to basically take over parenting for her), yes I know that Alice doing some M3gan style ham kills would be a completely different genre but god it would've been interesting if Kara's (or rather, the Player as Kara) incompetence in fights would usually be compensated by Alice stepping up could've been taken further (Alice can canonically kill Todd w/ the gun to save Kara! She can stab Luther when he's pursuing them through the house if Kara sucks at her QTEs! I can't remember if there are more, but those were the two that I remember most!). Take it to the conclusion, let Alice be Kara's (the player's) temporary plot armor if you need Kara to live to a certain point regardless of Player choice, or hell make an entirely separate branchline of Alice doing the plot alone if Kara is still permadeathable in Stormy Night) Alice is the one who knows the most about what the fuck is going on throughout most of the plot!
