i love the lesbian couple that lives near my parent's work. they are super nice and they live in a farm with nine dogs and over fifteen cats (not an exaggeration). im pretty sure one of them was in a cult when she was younger. they're both butch and one of them says she doesn't see gender for anyone ever, only presentation and pronouns. she still uses the word lesbian to herself because she thinks it sounds cool. all animals in their farm are rescues. they have more coconut trees that they can account for so everytime we visit they shove coconut at us and we leave with at least ten in our car because they literally don't know what to do with that much coconut. their existence fills me with hope

headcanon that as sophie ages, she gets more and more off-put by how she still looks twenty at some age past 40. the only wrinkles she has are smile lines and a barely-there crease between her eyebrows that never leaves. no gray hairs. it doesn’t feel like there’s any physical evidence of how much stress aged her too fast.

(maybe she dyes more grays into her hair to feel better about her reflection, the more time passes by. maybe, on bad days, she contours wrinkles into her skin with makeup. maybe the bad days get more frequent as she ages outside the human lifespan. maybe.)

#i feel like fitz and dex are the only friends of hers that really get it #since fitz understands more surrounding human cultures than most elves thanks to his firsthand experience in the search #and dex grew up with his mom’s romcoms #which would probably show some human perspectives on aging #and his mom explaining some things that didn’t quite make sense to Smol Dex #but i’ve always imagined sophie turning up on fitz’s doorstep in the middle of the night #with tears running down her face and saying she didn’t know who else to talk to about almost-immortality feeling so so so wrong as she #gets older. not necessarily just because he knows more about humanity than most of her group #but also because like. there’s some part of her that says ‘if he can help you through learning to be an elf at 12 maybe he can help you at #42 too’. and they’re cognates. and they’ve gotten old enough to set aside teenage grievances with one another #and i like the idea of them sitting on a couch together by lamplight and trying to navigate the cultural and personal differences #in how the two of them and humanity and the lost cities view mortality #and not really reaching a concrete conclusion. but rather. a conclusion that keeps the two of them sane until they reach triple digits.#and then they have the conversation again. and come up with a plan to stay sane in their triple digits. and the same thing pops up in their #thousands. idk man the whole thing screams trust down to the bone and that’s what they should have when the war is over #is there anything more Cognate than talking through wildly different fears surrounding the same thing that make both parties #super vulnerable??? down to how your minds work in the face - or lack of - death?#maybe so but i can’t think of them off top of my head #kotlc #sophie foster #kotlc headcanons #keeper of the lost cities

#I’m reading volumes 14-16 of the ouran manga OOUGHHH MY HEART #I love this weird little friend group so much its unreal #like u have this charming sweeps you off your feet prince but he’s actually a huge lovable idiot with a kind heart and his friends #who are all misfits that he reached out to and drew in because of his kindness and own weirdness like that shits TIGHT BRO #and the trauma part where he has some deep seated issues with love bc he thinks that itll break a family apart like with his mom #how his family isnt allowed to be together because his mom and dad fell in love and how he says he wants to build a big house #so that way one day everyone will get along as a family like. all he wants is not to lose everyone and the only way to do that is #by maintaining a certain order.. he both wants a complete family so bad and doesnt want anything to sour between anyone #so he assigns each of his friends a family role based on how he sees them and YEAH its mostly played for giggles and tamakis #already weird so its his way of showing theyre close to him but. god damn this boy has LAYERS #it also feels kinda meta towards how found family tends to get thrown around to assign characters as 'siblings' or family roles instead of #using it to describe characters who are close enough to be each others family. cuz tamakis doing that EXACT THING in a way tht #ties in with his character and i have to say its fascinating using that within the story itself and its completely plausible #theres a lot of things i can say about ouran that are good bad and questionable but. god i love it when characters are niceys to each other #i remember i really liked the mall episode bc kyoya and haruhi got to spend time together and their relationship isnt very close #but it was really nice to see their personalities bounce off each other. i think i also wouldve liked to see haruhi alone with kaoru #i also firmly believe all of the hosts are at least a little in love with haruhi and this can be anything like endearing romantic cuz like #who DOESNT love haruhi. kyoya i think would want to study her under a microscope like his fascination with her draws him in #but im fucking obsessed with whatever haruhi and tamaki have going on because YES hes obsessed with her YES he jumps at the chance to #put her in a cute costume but haruhi? she just fucking goes with it because she knows hes fun to be around even if hes a little wacky abt i #theyre all so. okay my mom did read to me growing up but it was never kids books like harry potter bcuz she already read those to my sister. she would EXCLUSIVELY read me adult fiction books that she was already reading herself that were about really adult/political topics and i cant even be mad bcuz admittedly they were really good books. but i was like 10 why were u reading me a book thats about indian political activism in the 70s...... and second of all why was i definitely into it

The dark tournament is really what #hits for me. like it was insane. like do u understand #Kuwabara was this guy that wouldn't leave him alone but it was fun to beat him up and then there was the righteous anger #when rando nearly killed kuwabara #but here. the dark tournament. that anguish is for one of the most important people in his life #because yusuke didn't have friends. he thought he didn't. he figured Keiko his mom the teachers kuwabara everyone was better off #but he saw for himself the effect his death had and now he's on the other side of it.
