I have been wanting so desperately to write the past few days but a cold has my sinuses putting so much pressure on my head I feel like it’s going to explode, plus it’s school holidays and it’s been raining so I’ve got two very energetic kids with cabin fever running around causing mayhem 😅.

BUT! I did manage to write a little something for LA Lonely so yay (even though it may not be great, at least it’s words)

Buck is woken up by the shrill sound of a phone ringing. The bed jostles, Buck letting out an annoyed grumble as the warm body that is wrapped around him disappears. There is a kiss pressed to his naked shoulder, a whispered apology and then the rustling of the blankets as the person leaves the bed, answering the phone with a quiet hello.

Rolling over to check the time, Buck’s surprised to see that it’s almost 9. Usually his body clock wakes him up at 7am everyday, whether he stayed up late or not, so sleep-ins are a rare thing. He rolls onto his back, groaning as he stretches his arms up above his head. There’s a slight ache in his ass but it’s a reminder of the fantastic sex he had last night and honestly, Buck doesn’t mind the discomfort.

He hears footsteps on the stairs, the wood creaking slightly and then the most attractive man Buck has ever laid eyes on is standing at the foot of his bed wearing nothing but underwear and a soft apologetic smile that has Buck’s tummy swooping.

Eddie.

The man’s name is Eddie, Buck remembers. And remember he should because he was moaning it loud enough last night.

Eddie has a phone pressed between his ear and shoulder as he picks up his jeans and begins to awkwardly shimmy them up his legs. “I told you, I overslept. But I’m getting ready now and can be there in —” he looks down at his wrist and frowns, his eyes sweeping over the discarded clothes on the floor before zeroing in on Buck’s second nightstand where a clunky watch sits. Eddie grabs the watch, quickly checking the time before he begins strapping it on. “I can be there in 20 minutes, 15 if the traffic is good.”

Buck feels a pang in his chest and then instantly chastises himself. This was just another hookup, a one night stand —nothing more than that. He was foolish to think that what he felt last night with Eddie was anything real. It was just the hormones.

Eddie may have stayed, but that was probably because he was hoping to get lucky again this morning. Or like Buck, he slept in and didn’t get a chance to sneak out before Buck woke up.

gojo's last words to geto are the one thing about jujutsu kaisen that i keep thinking about over and over. The first time i watched the movie it was in italian and idk if that's something generally known or if anyone ever discussed it at all but in the ita version the last words have been dubbed, (they're not in the subs tho, which is strange but oh well...). Gojo says:

"Suguru, caro amico mio..."

"Suguru, my dear friend..."

Now, a few premises,

Italian dubs and adaptations have a history of chensorship

Doesn't really explain geto's reaction, unless it's bc he realized gojo only ever thought of him as a dear friend and never really hated him

What i consider canon is what get written down in the manga, everything else is mmmm not so canon

But regardless, as much as i would love to hear I'll be lonely without you or I love you, i still think in truth it's something along the line of "you're my best friend", or "you're my dear friend".

Now, on the meaning and the translation:

Caro amico mio it's not the same as mio caro amico: 'mio caro amico' is what translates from 'my dear friend', the actual litteral translation from the dubbed line in the italian version of JJK0 it's something like 'dear friend of mine' (but that was uselessly verbose imo so i picked the simple version, the dots kinda make up for what gets lost).

so,

caro amico mio,

mio caro amico,

amico mio caro,

...

It's always those three words, caro means 'dear' but when you put it at the beginning of the phrase it stresses the meaning of dear, giving it a sweeter and and a tad less colloquial nuance.

they just got out of an extreme gaming session at the boardwalk arcade and now the suns setting and killer wants to get ice cream before it sets so they can watch the sunset but as usual she's a bit too excited for horror and dust to keep up and dust is absolutely dying (she gets ZERO excercise and killer is FAST) and horror just wants to take her time and also spare dust from killer's wrathful running speed. its ok though they manage to eat the icecream while watching the sunset even while slowed down (the vibes in this one are immaculate this is what jk fashion au stands for. silly fluffy important friendship bonding memories. i love. it's not full effort because i wanted to get this done quickly so i wouldnt respond late but im UNFORTUNATELY busy and now its been a day,,,,, I STILL LOVE THE ART YOU SENT ME THANM YKJ SO MUCH)

okay my thought on the s7 finale based on the s3 finale. because the s3 finale is basically one giant parallel to the s3 premiere. like the party at bathena's house. bobby's concern about buck and buck saying hes fine (lying) vs actually being fine in the finale. buck holding resentment towards ali in the premiere vs letting abby go in the finale. the card chris gave to buck vs the card chris gave to eddie. michaels loneliness and isolation from his family vs him living and his family being closer than ever and finding love in the finale. madney not sure if they want kids vs being pregnant in the finale. and like I think they were trying to do this in s7 finale and it failed spectacularly on hitting the right emotional beats. like bobby thinking athena is avoiding him in the premiere vs "im mrs bobby nash" in the finale. buck complaining natalia talked about death all the time vs the buck tommy date scene (still trying to parse this one as I type it lol). the chris and shannon of it all. and like all that being said imo it was A Big Choice to have maybe the most blatant parallel besides bathena be eddie asking buck to help parent chris. like help me understand my kid and get him to open up in a way I cant. that was the direct parallel that they chose to make to tie the beginning and end of that arc (eddie's season long arc) together. and they want me to believe buddie isnt going canon when they were like btw buck is chris's dad and also eddie trusts and encourages buck to parent him? LIKE???????????

Haven’t had the brain capacity to get much writing done since Friday, but I did manage to tippity type a little something something for LA Lonely 🏙️ . So have some of Buck’s inner self deprecating thoughts.

As the weekend rolls into Monday, Buck tries not to think about Eddie but somehow the guy has burrowed under his skin, an itch that Buck can’t scratch. He finds himself doing a double take at every fit, 6 foot brunette man that he encounters while on a call, both disappointed and relieved that they aren’t who he’s hoping for.

Not that he’s hoping to run into Eddie again. The guy didn’t leave his number or take Buck’s, and Buck’s been playing this game for so long he knows what that means. Because Buck is only good for one night, maybe a weekend if he’s lucky. No one wants to take a chance on him.

He’s used to it, so he doesn’t understand why he can’t get Eddie out of his head. The sex was good - incredible actually - and Eddie was hot. And kind. And his smile could light up an entire room. And Buck really needed to get a grip.

Eddie had his fun and then he left. Just like everyone else.
