i’ve decided that post-canon Ed and Winry keep a little flock of chickens and it’s mostly a bunch of sweet hens that they and the kids dote on, but they also have a tiny yellow bantam rooster which Ed is in a FEUD with. they are NEMESES. this creature keeps escaping from the run and getting into things he shouldn’t and pecking at Ed’s ankles every chance he gets. the kids love him and ‘accidentally’ let him into the house where he causes utter chaos. Ed insists this is the most vile creature in the world. but of course everyone else who sees their altercations is just like “Ah. He has found a kindred spirit.”

Ed's hair shouldn't be straight when he un-ties it, for the onyl reason that he keeps it in a braid all the time, even when it rains. Its should be wavy- and it'd look pretty good tbh. We were robbed :(

Headcanon: the 'Dragon Pulse' in FMA:B is the movement of groundwater.

lbr, the only reason Ed/Al let the 'dragon pulse' explanation fly was because they had other shit to worry about at the time. you know Ed would be all over that shit any other time.

If Edward "I met god and came out of that an atheist" Elric heard about the mystic sounding dragon's pulse, he would crack open the whole crust of the earth to get to the bottom of that shit.

I think it's groundwater movement bc:

A) groundwater is, by necessity, closer to the surface of the earth than the tectonic plates where alchemists get their energy from, which means it would be faster to draw on and also could bypass the philosopher stone layer under amestris. (you know those stones needed to be buried deep so that no one could just... accidentally dig up a Philospher's Stone.)

B) I don't remember if it's explicitly stated in the show, but decently popular fanon has alkahestry as having a basis in healing and the body, and sense of self. Groundwater movement is way less rigid and would also symbolically link well with healing and life.

C) Mei can do alkahestry at a distance so long as something she has used, something she sees as an extension of herself, is at the point and both she and that point are connected to the ground in some way. What if that extension of self actually comes from the fact that, if you carry something for long enough, you'll sweat on it or bleed on it, and you can sense the remnants of that through the alkahestry.

C.1) the idea that all you need is a vague connection and a bodily fluid to do alkahestry at a distance opens up all sorts of fun avenues tbh. Using blood or spit probably doesn't work well unless you're setting traps on non-porous material. Trap won't work if the snare got absorbed by the nearby trees... although... could you water a plant using your blood for long enough that the tree could be used as an alkahestric target/anchor/whatever they call it? (I can just imagine Ed learning alkahestry just so he can spit in somone's face, quick clap, and break their nose without touching them. That would be sick as hell.)

It would also make sense if alkahestry and qi sense in FMA is based on water. Humans = mostly water, so if qi sense is just a sense a person can develop to see how the water (plus the hormones and reactions that make up emotional responses) move throughout another person then it would go well with alkahestry and the dragon pulse also being water based. (This is also why all of the homunculi are strange to qi sense, even Bradley, bc he was human who became homunculus ,while the others don't really have blood or normal bodily functions/systems.)

Plus, it's called the Dragon's 'pulse' which implies liquid. If the dragon is the earth, then it's pulse would be groundwater, or really just water, movement. (... if it's just water, imagine the damage a Pirate alkahestrist could do.)

The thing here is, I'm almost certain that wasn't what Alphonse was going to say (I assume he wanted to say something about how trying to bring back Trisha wasn't comparable to this at all... I'm reminded of 12-year-old Ed with Tucker)

But a not unfair point is being made in the context of the military/Ed and Al's involvement with it. Thus far, the Elric brothers haven't liked the military, but as such have seemed to feel that their being tied to it (and appropriately disliked) for each other's sakes is a necessary sacrifice/a mature choice (as I've said before, they seem to view maturity/kindness as equivalent to ignoring your own wants or needs for someone else).

But I think when Lust equates sacrificing the prisoners with Ed being a state alchemist (and Al having wanted to be one), it puts things in a bit more perspective for Ed? Because Ed + Al are far from the only people at risk here... It's not just about their lives, it's about the people who the military is actually targeting-in this specific instance, these prisoners

So Ed refusing to follow orders with this in mind (even when Al was on the line) was probably the primary reason why Scar chose to help him escape (though ofc Scar seeing himself and his brother in Ed and Al was also part of it)

Transfem Alphonse Elric is my life. I mean she talks about how she hates her body so much, she hates how big and strong she is.

I bet Ed knows too. While Al calls Ed "Nii-san" constantly, Ed only says "Otouto" once (iirc), and when he does, he's just repeating what number 66 said in the 5th laboratory.

When in Briggs, Al gets very upset about losing her "hair", which I think it really cute.

Football is a growing sport in Amestris, though each club tends to only play against other local clubs within its sector. So Central will play most often against clubs also in the Central sector, compared to those in the Eastern sector. In time, and with the increased use of railways, matches further a field might be arranged. Central has several football teams, but the main ones are Central Park FC, known as the Rangers, and Central FC.

The Homunculi had a slight lull in operations while letting the Fuhrer Candidates be raised. Between considering when to kill off Fuhrer Armstrong and set up his successor before Wrath, they had some free time.

So, in the late 1860s, Pride created the alias Zach Stubbs and joined the under-13s football club near Central Park. Pride took this surname from a nickname he had among the local boys in the South while he was setting up the Fifth Crest in 1835. He says he only killed and ate the neighbourhood boys because they were no longer needed, but his time with them was enjoyable nonetheless and left enough of an impression on him to reuse the name they gave him.

Pride joined under his regular form, posing as just a short 12-year old and aging slowly from there. He had been practicing stretching his container into an older form for longer periods of time, so appearing to be older for football matches and training became possible for him. He used the Homunculi’s military influence to help fund the club, as well as some local charities, so as to benefit the military’s public image at the same time. There were no football uniforms back then, so some of the money went to making the team’s scarves, green and white like the Amestrian flag.

He tended to get referred to just by his surname on the pitch, but after a while his middle name gained some prominence. His middle name is not exactly a secret but it’s something you’ll have to puzzle out for a little bit. Because he never let anyone else try for goal if he ended up with the ball, people used to say “Leave it to [middle name redacted]”, and he was in fact very good at scoring goals. Lust occasionally watched some of his matches, and Envy, too.

Pride played uncontested for some time, one of his favourite matches being when he demolished a team from outside Central City called the Kelpies. However, upon joining the Central Park Rangers’ under 16s team at “15”, finally able to specialise in being a striker like he wanted, he found an opponent.

Envy had had enough hearing about Central’s talented new player, running around, showing off, wearing Envy’s favourite colour, and was determined to embarrass him by making him fail in front of everyone. He created Endymion Albright, Central FC’s new goalkeeper, tall and lanky enough for his age to not be suspicious if any of his limbs stretched a little too far during dives. He’d been a trainee in secret for a few months, so made his debut right at the same time Pride swapped to the older team. Even though he wasn’t bulky or wide everyone called him a wall, though Pride would jeer that he was more of a tower.

The unstoppable force vs. immovable object paradox in CPR’s striker and CFC’s goalkeeper only made the rivalry between the two teams intensify, and they met on several occasions. Lust got to look in more often on how her brothers were doing, saying she was Endymion’s older sister, Penelope, there to support her brother, or saying that she was scoping out the competition when watching Pride’s matches.

The final match they played against each other was tied 1-1 for a goal Pride did not score, when he tried to make it 2-1 in the closing minutes, only for Envy to catch it. Did you know some ties were broken in football by coin toss? I wonder who won…

Pride had to retire in 1873 when Wrath was finally “born”, and the photograph taken at Central Park was the one of if not his last appearance for the club. Given the military endorsement, he probably made some excuse that he wanted to enlist and focus on military work. Pride returned to his container’s default form while teaching Wrath and the debacle with the future Mrs Bradley, so his role faded from public view over the years and isn’t that well known nowadays.

Without Pride around, Envy likewise retired to be able to keep an eye on Wrath, though might have been tempted a few times to visit the club again. Acting as Wrath’s colleague at work had its perks, too. It gave Envy lots of chances to see Wrath embarrass himself in front of his future wife, and in 1881 he got to be Best Man at his wedding.

Pride and Lust also got to reuse their personas for the wedding, attending as Zachary and Penelope Stubbs (née Albright).

Pride and Envy still support their respective teams in a distant way, still owning the scarves from when they played. If real uniforms with numbers on get invented by 1914, they’d buy ones with 1 and 4 on them respectively.

- I believe in my HEART the reason Ed doesn’t wear that uniform isn’t JUST because he thinks it’s stupid, he also just absolutely hates the texture of it. He put it on his body exactly one time and went “absolutely the FUCK not” and has since transmuted it into something else to take up less space

- It’s very hard for Alphonse to regulate himself because he has no sense of touch and can’t feel anything and he feels pretty detached from reality a lot of the time, but he likes to just talk and make noise. Like banging his gloves together, just because he can, because it’s proof to him he’s still here

- I can see Edward stimming by waiting until his ankle starts to get creaky and then just rocking it from side to side and listening to the squeaks. He gets the nice feeling of moving his whole leg with his ankle, plus the bonus of the obnoxious little sounds. Mustang wants to strangle him for it, Winry wants him dead, Alphonse just wants him to oil the joint before Winry rips his leg off

- Winry and Ed are BOTH tappers when they’re thinking. Fingers on the desk, foot on the floor, doesn’t matter. Tap tap tap tap tap tap tap. Poor granny and alphonse are just so used to it by now, bless them

- Winry and Ed definitely just have YAP sessions where they ramble about their hyperfixations for literal hours on end. They don’t really understand too much about the other one’s thing, but theyre very supportive

- When Alphonse gets his body back he very much becomes obsessed with the ✨Textures✨ of different things. He needs to touch EVERYTHING and just feel it, and one of his favorite stims becomes rubbing a very nice very specific rock he found

• Back on Earth Soda watched one Episode of fma, saw Winry and decided that that's how she wants to dress now and forever

• Sodas dark red marks stated to form when she was 17, she loves how they look like her papa's (Shadow)

• Scouts back gradually changed from white to blue from ages 14-17, around that time she marks around his eyes also formed

• Secretly Shadow and Sonic adore the change in fur and quills since it makes their kids look more like they actually are their kids, they wouldn't ever admit it tho

• Still both Soda and Scout have little knowledge on how much power they have, since they barely got to try and develop on earth (they barely got out of their temporary home hance the changes only really started to show once they were back on Mobius)

Maybe one they I get to design older AU Sonic and Shadow too (or current Sonic and Shadow, or any other character for that matter 🫠)

However. if we're going in terms of whose personality ive seen get just absolutely mangled to the worst degree. and i think thats whats being asked here. Pppppprobably hohenheim or scar. scar because of racism. and hohenheim because nobody knows how to be normal about a well intentioned fuckup of a parent so instead he has to be literally the devil i guess

oh ling also gets done super dirty as well. people forget that his Airheaded Entitled Royalty act is in fact an act, BUT at the end of the day hes still fifteen years old so he can still be a little dumb and reckless despite being great at strategizing. these layers are apparently incomprehensible to those who want to flatten him into "goofy fun sunshine boy" or "thats basically a grown man right"

Fullmetal Alchemist Envy Headcanons: Envy x Cat Lover Reader

- I think that Envy would find reader's love for cats adorable. I think he would be happy if reader is happy and if they love cats, so does he.

- I see Envy as someone out of the ordinary, who thinks outside the box. So, despite many people having the image of "the lady with the cats" as an example of lonelyness, Envy wouldn't view the situation that way. Reader simply likes cats. They can have as many as they want. What's wrong with that? That doesn't make them lonely.

- If they have a cat/multiple cats, he would ask about their names, how old they are, what their personalities are like and etc. He would be all about seeing reader excitedly talk about their pets.

- If they do not have a cat he would definitely get them one as a suprise at some point. If he sees one on the street and thinks that it's cute, he would take it and bring it to reader, standing at their door with the cat in his hands, excited to make them happy.

- Would always associate cat-themed stuff with reader and might even get them mugs or shirts or any kind of random object with a cat design every once in a while.

- Would shape-shift into a cat secretly and walk up to them to get their attention. Gentle pets, kisses and endless attention from his beloved? He'd be a cat most of the time to get those.

As a guy who is a bit awkward, passionate about his interests, a little bit on the gnc side, and into making clothes, I think he'd like Princess Jellyfish.

I think when it comes to anime he WOULDN'T like, I think maybe....slice of life shojo high school stuff. Ones that are deeply rooted in experiences that Hunter cannot connect to. Not that he hates that stuff. He just struggles to relate. Also, as introspective, sensitive and emotionally mature as I imagine Hunter to be, I also think that his attention span cannot be held by a show that focuses on feelings/romance alone. Bro is like "I want SPACESHIPS!! I want SPORT!!! I want POKEMON!!!" There's gotta be some exciting angle to keep him entertained.

Something I'm a little unsure of is what Hunter's relationship is with gore/horror/edgy type stuff. Because we know he was a fan of Ruler's Reach, which was written by an edgelord 8 year old and was packed with gratuitous violence. Considering he was not only a teenage boy (who tend to gravitate towards depictions violence because of societal influence) but a child soldier who was unnervingly desensitized to brutality, it does make a lot of sense. Ruler's Reach also seemed to be something of a masculine power fantasy written by one boy who felt small and powerless in his own life, which connected with a boy who felt similarly. King wanted to be feared, Hunter wanted to be respected.

However, this was during the time that Hunter was trapped in a very bleak situation, one that he didn't even fully understand was bleak. And he coped by hyperfixating on a book that normalized the cruelty.

But what I wonder is, would he still feel the same way about that book now, after everything? He's been woken up to how horrific his life was until this point. He's aware of the atrocities and he's deeply uncomfortable with all of it. Things are drastically different now. Hunter is drastically different.

Personally, I think Ruler's Reach was something that comforted him when he needed it. But as he changes as a person, its just not his taste anymore.

Hunter can certainly stomach gore and violence. He's seen more disturbing sights than anything an anime can show him. But I don't think he actively seeks it out. I imagine that he prefers stuff that's lighthearted. Not that he doesn't enjoy tension/excitement/high stakes. Just not the kind of stuff that will make him extremely upset.

Like Fullmetal Alchemist for example. Absolutely amazing anime, but not something Hunter would enjoy sitting through. It's good to have fiction that makes you feel something deep in your core, the way FMA does to people. But Hunter has experienced enough real life trauma and existential horror for a lifetime. He's felt enough!!! He doesn't need to see that weird fucking dog!!!!! Leave him alone!!!!!

So ya in summary, I think he likes fun, semi-lighthearted stuff. But he doesn't really wanna watch anything that's gonna make him sit in the shower for over an hour and rethink everything. He is already mentally exhausted. He once learned made of a dead guy's bones, that's enough for him.

A BROTP I have with said character: mei chang 🥺 scar and mei's relationship is so important to me. I love that she sees this scary serial killer and she's like "this is the most trustworthy person in amestris" and she's correct.

A NOTP I have with said character: KIMBLEE. I think kimblee should explode one million times i hate that motherfucker.

A random headcanon: scar is canonically an animal lover, and I think when he gets settled in ishval again, he ends up with like twenty cats because he keeps feeding the stray street cats. it's very good for his stress levels

General Opinion over said character: the best written character in all of fullmetal alchemist and I'm not even exaggerating. he is an absolutely incredible character and his arc is fascinating to me and it makes me so mad that he's neglected by the fandom

Idea for a story

Posted about this before but I think she should've done noncon human transmutation on Roy for the second time in 24 hours and forced him to take one of her eyes to get his vision back instead of what happens in canon. Thematically mismatched eyes of mutually assured self-destruction. Only reinforcing the CamPal of warcrimes of it all.

Since I posted that already, I would love to know how weird and awkward her time as Bradley's personal assistant was. Suddenly she is forced to play house along with Wrath and Pride. Could Mrs. Bradley sense that her husband's assistant loathed her kid for some reason. Did she take it personally.

Unpopular opinion

I don't think she and Roy were hooking up. It's more interesting if they don't even want to and are just using people's amatonormative assumptions against them, but even if they want to they're not. They hate themselves too much.

Favorite relationship

It's interesting to me that she dislikes treating Ed and Al like children. She disapproves when Roy lies to them about Hughes, and she gives Ed a gun. Certainly now that they're in the military treating them like kids does them no favors. Riza went to the front very early - is she trying to help them because it was hard for her? Is she making it worse by encouraging them to think of themselves as soldiers? Bit of both, I think. FMA contains a lot of people passing on the damage done to them to the next generation. Sometimes they mean well.

Favorite headcanon

Noticed last year that she's the only non-Xingese character who can sense the presence of the homunculi and had a discussion with Gill about whether she has aptitude for alkahestry. We decided it would be cool if she learned it and created circles by shooting 5 bullets rather than throwing 5 knives.

12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?

Oh I have so many but uhmm let's see... One headcanon I have is that Ed can cook. Probably not expertly but well enough to get by. Like in those years between Trisha's death and the human transmutation, I think it's safe to assume that while Pinako made sure they knew they were always welcome in the Rockbell house, the boys wouldn't have had every meal every day with them. So the rest of the time Ed would cook. He picked up afew things from Trisha, and then he read some books (of course) and experimented a bunch (of course), because after all cooking is just chemistry/alchemy too, right? And then he and Al had to feed themselves while they were on Yock island and learned some more things and you bet Izumi involved them in chores, including cooking, when they were staying with her. So by the time they got back from training with Izumi he was pretty good at it and continued to take care of most of the cooking until the human transmutation. After they lost their bodies, he mostly stopped because a) he didn't need to feed Al anymore and b) he didn't really care about feeding himself as much beyond getting fuel so he could keep researching how to get their bodies back and c) once they started travelling it was inconvenient anyway so d) eating became just something to get out of the way as fast as possible so he could get back to researching.

I like to think that after everything he gets back to it though, his own small kind of alchemy, using raw materials to create something new through chemical processes. This goes for post-03 Ed in Germany too, with the added motivation of not being able to afford eating out a lot.

I've talked before about the parallels between Ed and Peter Parker, but lately I've also been thinking about Locke Lamora from the Gentleman Bastards books, who is also a snarky little shit with too much brains and confidence than is entirely good for him (I have a type). It's been too long since I read the books though, I'd have to go back and read them again to see if there's more similarities or if it's just vibes 😂

Oh, yes!! Well remembered! Making that post about MetalhEd and crows is still on my to do list lol but since you asked!

The day I first met @nino-saurier we were talking about which animals would best fit which FMA characters. And I had a hard time thinking of anything that would really fit Ed, so I said I had to think about it some more. And I did! And wrote them an essay about it later lol.

I was fairly certain Ed would be a bird, being freedom-loving, independent, never able to stay still for long. Considered migratory birds first, because even when he travels far, he always comes back home. But none quite fit. Considered owls and other birds of prey, but their temperament also wasn't quite right.

Then I thought of corvids, and my first instnct was like "no that's just because it fits his aesthetic, but that doesn't mean it actually fits his personality" but then I actually thought about it and...

Corvids are intelligent, obviously, they have an excellent memory, they can hold grudges, they are not naturally aggressive but you still don't want to get into a fight with them.

They are not exactly loners but also not the most social of animals.

They are very tough and resilient and can survive in very dire conditions.

Okay, I thought. Maybe there's something to that after all. So I went and actually looked into it in more detail and found this:

Corvids are extremely versatile and opportunistic

They usually live in mated pairs, though young birds may form a flock.

"Relationships between common ravens are often quarrelsome, yet they demonstrate considerable devotion to their families."

They are intelligent, skilled at problem-solving, young birds are extremely curious about all new things and also among the most playful bird species

Look, they are intelligent enough to be petty and spiteful: "ravens can recognise when they are given an unfair trade during reciprocal interactions with conspecifics or humans, retaining memory of the interaction for a prolonged period of time." (that's not very equivalent exchange of you!) "ravens in the wild have also been observed to stop cooperating with other ravens if they observe them cheating during group tasks"

Can we talk about the fact that ravens having a concept of cheating implies that they have morals. Like come on.

So uhhh yeah long story short, Edward Elric is a raven. And he would be thrilled about that, because ravens are badass and very metal. Now you know.

hi, I am about to speak my opinion about the most classic FMA patterns in fics.

Hello again, if you don't know me, I am sweet, I have been writing FMA since April 2022, and I have so far published 47 fics of this fandom, I am dusweet @ Ao3.

I’ve been in this fandom since late 2021 and finished Brotherhood in February 2022- ON ED’S BIRTHDAY WHICH I THINK ITS COOL.

Okay now we know basic dates, you can guess that I read too many FMA fics, and that means that I have been seeing a pattern in them. And It doesn't matter if the fic was published in 2002 or in 2023- they all share similar themes- or like, I would say headcanons??

so now I think it is time for me to talk about the things that are often written and I don't like, and One them I just reblogged a few hours ago and that's:

Roy Mustang and his paperwork.

Hold on, let's just think about it a little together. Roy Mustang, and a state alchemist, freaking Colonel at 26, Bridigal general at 30- the man is basically planning his own suicide- are you telling me THIS MAN WHO IS A SCIENTIST slacks in his job?

Like, the man wants to be Furher. The man has guilt complex, the man hates himself and is working to help his people.

It just doesn't add up in my opinion. It's funny sometimes, yes. But I just don't like how Riza keeps threatening him with a gun because he isn't doing his work when he is secretly doing it but acts as if he isn't because of the reputation he built.

You get what I mean, right?

Which brings me to point 2:

Riza Hawkeye and her gun.

Oftentimes, Riza is written in a way that she keeps threatening Roy or treating him less- again, funny at times- but the fact remains:

Riza is in this army because of Roy, and she loves him to the point that is clear if she shot him, she will shoot herself. I would say it is a case “ the man is the boss.” here because the fact is Roy is the boss. Not Riza ( even tho she is a girlboss.)

Roy is her commanding officer, she waits for his orders. Simple as that.

Again, I do see her threatening the boys with her gun, after all, she is the right-hand of Mustang, and the third higher rank on the team ( Ed being few ranks higher then her.)

Riza is a smart woman, and she chooses to follow a man she loves into hell. It's a huge thing. She is SMART. And I don't this she would have agreed to work under Roy if he was as slaking as people write him.

Point 3:

Edward Elric and the small nicknames.

I will say it and you will hate me for it- but that is called BULLYING.

“ oh but sweet- they joke with Hi-” no. No. No. No.

If they were joking with him- he wouldn't get angry after every time someone calls him small or short. Edward has a hard time as is, the stress and the guilt and the responsibility are too much, and to think someone ( like on Team Mustang who knows about his life.) goes on and dares to bully him- it freaking hurts.

Every time I see someone calling Ed “ shrimp” I get angry for him. I’ve been a victim of bullying myself, and it hurts when you get picked up over something you might be insecure about.

I called him once shrimp- in my first ever fic- and again, maybe funny at times, but after it hit me one day that Ed yelling means that he is angry. And if he gets angry and expresses that he doesn't want to be called short and people still call him that it means that they bully him. After that, I try to never do it again.

✨ headcanon here, Ed is short like that because as a kid, he didn't receive enough nutritions and enough food. Although it is known that Ed eats for himself and Al- I think even on post-promise day Ed will keep eating that way ( maybe less but the same way, because it is the way his body is surviving. Since it thinks it might go for a while without food so it wants to eat as much as it could.)

I like to think that Ed was Al’s parent and therefore he used to give Al his food since they were poor and did not have enough money or food.

Since I mentioned this headcanon, let me follow it by this:

Point 4:

Edward Elric is the one who raised Alphonse Elric and not the other way around.

I think that a lot of people go with the “ Al is more mature, Ed is childish.” mindset, which angers me.

As the oldest child, I relate to Edward in so many aspects ( besides the long hair in a braid deal.) For more than half of my day, I am in charge of my youngest siblings- feeding them, playing with them, teaching them, you get the idea. and according to my mom I started acting like a mother haha

Now that same thing should be applied to Edward. From just watching how they act and how they talk, many will judge right away and Say that Ed is the child one because he is impolite, loud and angry for nothing, and many would say that “Why can't you be just like your brother.”

i likes to think that Edward is loud and angry for these reasons:

He is protecting himself and Al from being abandoned all over again, he wants to be unloved in order not to get attached. He gets angry because anger to him is such an easy emotion to portray and be.

When he gets angry and frustrated and acts out- he is looking for attention. And that has been apparent ever since he was a child. Like, when he hits Al with the book on his head? Why? Because he wants his mother to yell at him. He tries to grasp her attention and time by acting out.

And that same tactic that he uses with Roy. If he was acting like he should be, Roy might see him for five minutes a day. But with acting out, he gets to have Roy’s attention as he yells at him.

Mature levels are different between the brothers, and it is clear how Ed has an understanding of things around them and works hard, I am not saying that Al isn't mature. It just... Ed raised Al. I think that explains everything.

Point 5:

Jean Havoc and how people write him as an idiot.

Listen, I love me some good Uncle Jean action. And I love how people write him like that- the uncle/older brother dynamic.

I think on the team he is the third oldest- Vato being the older one, then Roy, and then Jean, and so on- so say he is like, 27 (?) IT MEANS THAT HE IS A GROWN MAN, K? PEOPLE NEED TO STOP WRITING HIM AS A HORNY TEEN.

I also want to point out, that maybe Jean is looking for a woman and going out on dates as much as he could so he can find a WIFE so he can settle down with and marry and have kids.

But the fact is, Jean is smarter than he gives himself credit, and we can see that across the anime and the manga. Also, I am not sure if this fact is Canon- but one of my favorite things about this man is that he is the medic of the team.

✨My headcanon is that he was a paramedic before he joined the Army or something. I just think it suits him.

Also, if he was not smart or mature enough, Roy wouldn't have made him “ team’s officer “

I just adore him, maybe more than Hughes-

AND Speaking of Hughes

Here is Point 6:

Maes Hughes and his family obsession.

I know I know he just loves taking photos and talking about his wife and daughter- because he is just a proud man, and I love him for that. What I dislike is when someone writes him as if that is the only thing he does??

Like, have we forgotten that he is a detective? And the head of the inspection department? He has fun when he can but also he has his head leveled when needed, let's not forget that.

Think about Meas as if he is Superman ( Clark Kent.) because these two have so many similar traits.

Point 7:

Winry Rockbell and her anger issues.

I again, dislike how abusive people write winry. Abusive might be the wrong word to use here, but when someone keeps hitting you with her wrench because your prosthetic broke against your will and it gets to the point that you try to fix it instead of going to her to help you fix it-

I just think it isn't healthy. Not to mention that Winry is always written as if she does not understand the hardships that Ed and Al go through. And that might be the case - she is just a girl who sees the man she loves get injuries and she doesn't understand the whys. And I think that is why she acts the way she does. Personally, I adore Winry. I like her and her and she and Ed are cute and they are right for each other.

I just dislike how she is always written as if Ed getting injured is his fault, Y’know?

Point 8:

Izumi and how much she does not understand the things that the boys go through.

she is a wonderful woman, strong, and loves kids and her husband- my problem is how much she doesn't seem to understand Ed and Al's post they committed the taboo. She always comes at Ed and Al for joining the military without seeing the reason behind it.

That is why I found myself hating every time she comes in fics after Ed gets injured or something because she will always yell at him and acts as if it was his fault.

I only truly liked Izumi in one fic I read, which had her being Roy’s older sister- and I liked that. She was understanding while having her normal personality.

And yea, I think these are it! I just expressed my personal opinion towards things and I do have a few other ideas but these are what come to mind right now. I do enjoy reading fics even if these things were present in them- but the chances of me writing things like this are very minimal.
