"A beautiful painting he made fur me of me and my lusus pip wurking togethur on a sculpture in our junkyard. My hair is a mess and I'm covured in paint and dirt, but he still painted it in a way that just gives that warm feeling. Like, no matter how messy or into my work I get.. he still finds me pretty. And that makes me feel nice. I could feel just how much effurt he put into it. All the little details and complex bits he didn't need to add but did. it's hanging in my living room."

The University of Barcelona's Medicine Faculty has temporarily installed a giant heart made by the Catalan artist Jaume Plensa, with the building's columns acting as the ribcage.

The objective of this work of art is to raise awareness about cardiovascular illnesses, which are the leading cause of death worldwide.

The work is titled El cor secret (The Secret Heart). The heart measures 13 metres tall and 10 metres wide, and weighs 150 kg. It's made of synthetic materials and painted by hand. It had previously been shown in Germany in 2014 and was supposed to arrive to Plensa's home city sooner, but it was delayed because of covid. Instead, in 2020, Plensa donated one of his famous head sculptures to this same building, to thank medicine professionals and students for their work during the pandemic.

yk when you see someone share a finished handmade item that they clearly spent a lot of time and money on and it's just. The absolute tackiest thing you have seen in your life. And then you ask yourself why someone would waste all those resources on such an eyesore.

(no, of course you can't relate to that because you're a much nicer person than me)

The top fabric is handwoven and handspun, the whole thing is sewn by hand, too.

Leftovers. Barely anything, all things considered, which is very satisfying.

This thing took me well over 3 years to make, on and off. And now I'm done.

We’ve taken the remaining supplies from our last TEENS GET CRAFTY program, and used them to create Teen Take-Home Kits!

If you’re 12-18 years old, please stop by the service desk on our main floor and ask the staff for a Take-Home Kit. Each kit contains two hearts (either one magnet and one ornament, or two magnets), plus instructions and several permanent markers.

This was the first heart I did in this pattern. I loved it so much I made two more.

This was made with a layer cake, two different accents, and some border fabric.

It’s laid out on a queen, but it’s terribly short all the way around. A twin or double would be better.

I really love how dramatic the black around the center heart looks.

-> A small package was left outside of Gretch's hive door -> Inside said package was a cute little green flower hairclip with a yellowish-orange gemstone in the center alongside a tag that simply had Gochov's sign on it

You could practically see the hearts in those pupil-less eyes of hers as she picks up the box and carefully inspects the gift. She cheerfully clips the flower into her hair with a big grin upon her face.

She'd admittedly been having a bit of a rough night, but now. She thinks she just might have the inspiration for her next project.
