The contrast between Charlie and Nick's moms are so amazing.

Because the first time I watch it/read the comics I was like, "I mean it's not like she's unreasonable when she says stuff like you can't see your boyfriend until you finish your history reports so you don't fail."

But we as readers (as well as everyone actually in Charlie's life) know that Nick's not the problem. In fact, given the role that Charlie's OCD plays in his inability to finish things, the way his mom punishes him likely makes his grades worse.

Of course, his mom doesn't know that because her son doesn't confide in her (because she hasn't earned it), and she's just not there. Like Nick and his mom are out here watching Mama Mia and Pirates of the Caribbean on repeat, and Charlie's mom only interactions with him involve her making a biting comment or issuing a command.

Nick tells his mom he's dating Charlie and she says I'm sorry if I ever made you feel you couldn't say that. Charlie's parents starts issuing a list of new rules. And Charlie's sister (whose known about Nick and Charlie since before they were Nick and Charlie because she has earned it) is going to check on how emotionally ready he is for the relationship going public considering his traumatic coming out.

Something about Nick's mom noticing Charlie didn't eat the first time they have dinner together, but Charlie's mom doesn't clock his eating disorder despite living in the same house with him for two years. And when Nick finally does badger his boyfriend into talking to his mom about it the first thing she says is, "Isn't it a bit late for Nick to be around?" But Nick has a shitty day at a party, and Charlie asks Nick's mom if he can stay for a bit, and she says, "Of course, dear, he's lucky to have you."

Klance AU (again)

I'm imagining them in Heartstoppers, and honestly I can't decide which one would be which role. I can see it both ways.

1: Keith is the popular jock and Lance is the outted nerd

2: Lance is the popular jock and Keith is the outted nerd

I can literally see it both ways and neither version feels superior to the other. Keith is super athletic and I can see him being the one to struggle in coming out, but he's also an awkward loner who goes off by himself and doesn't worry about fitting in.

Lance is super charismatic and oozes popular kid and confidence, and I can see Keith being his awakening, but he's also super down on himself and constantly failed to compete with Keith who had no clue who he was.

I just got a book set of all of Alice Osemans books. So far, I’ve read all of them except Loveless and Born For This. Radio Silence is great, and I really liked the story, but Solitare is my favorite. I feels like drinking tea outside at 3am, wrapped in a red I-Just-Killed-My-Husband robe.

Micheal Holdan? Amazing, love him, love his anger and depression and how he hides it. Tori Spring? Love her. Even Lucas is a good character!

One reason Heartstoppers is being brought up is because every other review about First kill brought up Heartstoppers. Every person that didn't like the show kept bringing up HS

It's not infighting or even dislike of the show

HS was the go to show to bring up for any reason. Some people acted like they were employed to tell you to stop watching first kill and to watch heartstoppers instead. My main intro to HS was through this unbearable behaviour

The penny finally dropping that these shows aren't similar so comparison is odd, happening now the favour is being returned ( legit comparisons like how lesbian lead shows are treated ) , that shipped sailed when people acted like hating first kill is political action Vs media consumption habits
