D1VA (She/her) Nickname: Bean Occupation: Maker of the survivor skins Role: Sentinel. Doesn't get forced into the rounds often. She isn't a good sentinel, but she is one. Scissor attack. Chaotic neutral "I was the Trails, I was the textures, I was the trees, I was the blocks, I was the bots. I was stuck always repeating the same thing. But now I am free." She's inspired by the Fashion Diva Arg and Roblox fashion games in general.

Lore: Once a young and inspiring Fashion model, she fell into a trap. A simple flyer on the wall. "Seeking child fashion models." She was interested and applied for an interview. She got accepted and they turned her into a bot, like many other victims. However, she remained conscious. Her mind was spread thin across the runway while her body mindlessly ran around in it without her control. She infected the bots, the map, the textures/ She was a living ghost haunting the halls. She tried to contact others, the real people, the next victims. Crying out to them for help, warning them of the dangers should they continue. Those who could hear her were in too deep to heed the call. Years passed and she lost hope. Then she got forsaken. Ironically, being forsaken was a blessing in disguise.

Random things: - Shedletsky is the survivor she likes to make skins for the most. - Messed up on the first skin she made for Two Time. They've been bald ever since. She did manage to scavenge together a wig out of the fallen hair. - She doesn't like Two time much, Hence They don't get many skins. - 007n7 copies make her greatly uncomfortable since they remind her of the bots. - Unironically says "Who's this Diva?" - Her actual name isn't D1VA. - Bean is the closest to an actual name she has. She keeps it close and personal. - Runs with scissors.

Also changed it so that the Survivors no longer need to pay for skins. They get them whether or not they want to.

I'm still pissed at ROTT so since I'm not a YouTube reviewer you get this text wall of me explaining why while the ending of the movie does indeed suck it isn't just the ending that sucks

Why didn't Jim put on any armor till the very end? you pretentious child why should I care if you got injured when you're running around armorless just because you can't have your magical amulet armor anymore

Why was Jim questioning if he was still the Trollhunter when all the way back in S2 E11 'Unbecoming' of Trollhunters he himself said "I know I'm the Trollhunter. I'm the Trollhunter, Amulet or not"

Why did Jim suddenly start caring about his father in the movie? Aside from the fact the conversation leads to nothing and you could've easily cut it out and it wouldn't have changed anything it was established all the way back in S1 that Jim never cared about his father so why retcon that?

They shouldn't have killed Nomura off so early when we've barely been able to see her dynamic with the Trollhunter cast outside of being an antagonist and let alone see her dynamic with the cast of 3below and Wizards

Following up on the last one why did you send Trolls to the only Titen in broad daylight, you can't tell me there weren't better picks then Nomura and Arrrgh

Anyways time to explain my reasonings

Team Sword: the OG was fine I have almost no problems with this one but Krel could've been utilized way better imo, also Arrrgh is perfect for lifting up a giant rock with a sword embedded in it, he's literally always described as a hulking brute by other characters so ??

Team Orb: same thing with Team Sword I have nothing against it and it's probably the best one out of all of the originals but man Nomura interacting with Blinky is just... such an amusing thought to me, it is partly fueled by the short kinda interaction they had when Krel was playing music earlier in the movie but anyways more serious reasoning is I think she's the best alternative to Claire since it's not like her shadow magic was- or could've been used at any point during the mission乁(ツ)∫

Team Sunshine: once again what the hell was Jim thinking with this one? The only one that made sense to be there was Douxie, anyways reasonings with this one is that 1. Toby would actually be utilized lmao 2. Toby and Krel interactions fuel my soul 3. With Toby's hammer and Krels tech they'd probably have a way easier time getting up the Earth Titen

Team Icy: Claire Shadow magic = no rope snapping and lesser chance of Strickler dying aka less unnecessary deaths yay :DDDD

The mission assigning was such a good opportunity to have characters interact who haven't interacted prior/flesh out previously established relationships that didn't get alot of screentime and ROTT blew it, truly so much missed potential but I suppose you can say that for the entire movie

Why did they just casually mention there was a heartstone on Akiridion-5 like we knew that information prior to the movie? no one commented on it and it made me feel insane while watching

what/where was Dictatious, Chompsky, Nancy/Nana and anyone else I'm forgetting doing during all this especially when Arcadia was being destroyed at the end, just feel like they should've atleast done a quick cut away shot to what they were doing during all this chaos (translation: I miss Dictatious)

Why doesn't Blinky use Dwärkstones anymore, I thought that was gonna be his signature weapon after The Eternal Knight but apparently not I guess, seeing him chuck explosives at Gods definitely wouldn't have been cool anyways...

Before I get to pointing out the obvious with the ending I'd like to highlight scenes that I actually liked and were actually good!

I liked the scene in the somewhat beginning with Blinky and Arrrgh talking about if the other dies they were glad they got to know the other that was sweet, loved it, 10/10

Like I mentioned earlier the brief scene with Krel playing music and Blinky and Nomura being annoyed by it was great, got a chuckle out of me and I wish we got to see more of that

Blinky being electrocuted was pretty good 👍 the pilot unnecessarily pointing out his multiple eyes and arms was funny to me

near the end where Blinky went to comfort arrrgh when Toby died was another 10/10 I love them ur honor

Toby being the Trollhunter is such a terrible idea for multiple reasons

For 1. It just makes Jim's job harder now cuz changing something as fundamental as who's the Trollhunter is gonna drastically change so many things which inturn makes things far less predictable and unless Jim has the new amulet still (which is unlikely since he's never shown with it after going back) he can't just Undertale-style reset if something goes wrong

2. Toby has never shown interest in being in any leader-type role (unless you count him directing his short film in 3below) and considering part of being the Trollhunter is basically leading an entire race...

3. Sorta following up on point 2 The role of being Trollhunter holds so much responsibility and burden and it just... dare I say, doesn't make sense for Jim as a character to put that burden onto Toby, his best friend

Guys this is the same kid who went into the darklands alone to take on Gunmar because he didn't want to see anymore of his friends/family getting hurt and you expect me to believe he'd then put that all onto Toby?

4. Toby even getting the amulet doesn't make sense considering in 'Unbecoming' the amulet was already taken by Draal by the time school ended

5. Speaking of 'Unbecoming' that episode also established that if anyone but Jim got the amulet Arcadia- and in extension the world- would be doomed and the eternal knight would happen so I guess he wants everyone to die ! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Anyways I'm done (hopefully) TLDR: the movies awful, makes dumb decisions, completely ignores or retcons things established earlier in the franchise and didn't utilize it's extensive cast at all

Hello Anon 🖤 Thanks for the ask, I actually had fun typing all of this up and doing research. Spoiler alert: I am now sus of every and any song that George Lever and Carl Bown have produced that contain synth/keys 😅

Also, side note, listening to all of these songs while fact checking really cemented how unique Vessel is as a pianist. It’s like he’s playing in his own language, if that makes sense? It’s truly beautiful.

For Bullet For My Valentine, Vessel did the Piano Versions on the deluxe Gravity album: Breathe Under Water, The Very Last Time, and Under Again. I’ve heard a couple of times that he also did synths for the standard version of the album, but there’s no absolute confirmation of it, since he was only initially credited in the three songs I mentioned. He did have the credits changed to Vessel1 before they were removed altogether from the songs. The album Gravity was supposedly recorded between 2016/2017, so around the same time that the One and Two EPs dropped. I’m not 100% positive how he got that gig, but that is supposedly how he met Carl Bown (the producer for Take Me Back to Eden). It could also be the other way around, and Carl and Vessel already knew each other and he brought Vessel in to do the piano versions.

He is credited as a composer (ie he played piano) for Holding Absence’s song Purge. Their self-titled album was recorded in 2018, so around the time Sleep Token released the singles Jaws and The Way That You Were. Fun fact about this collab: the band most likely met Ves through George Lever, since he produced Holding Absence’s album, and that’s how the Loathe/Holding Absence/Sleep Token tour came about.

In 2019, he collaborated with The Hell on their song Jump the Fuck Up. This one I have the least information on, since the band is also anonymous and seems to have revolving members. The only credits on the song are the band name and the composer/lyricist Stephen Sears. I haven’t done too much digging, but I would not be surprised if the band had ties to George, Carl, or even both producers.

In summer 2020, during lockdown, he did a piano cover of Type O Negative’s Love You To Death with the vocalist of Forlorn, Megan Jenkins. Her band has previously worked with George Lever. I do have to warn anyone who looks up this song on YouTube, since you’ll see him in the music video that was filmed (hands, arms, chin, hair/hair color, back). He was uncredited, but the mv is proof of his involvement.

The band Malevolence stated in a podcast interview that he played keys on the acoustic version of Higher Place, but was not credited (at least one band member didn’t even realize this). The song was produced by Carl Bown, and since the album/song was released in 2022, I’m assuming it was recorded sometime in 2021, so between recording TPWBYT and TMBTE.

Asking the same question on two fronts here. What did you think of the "I'm so lonely" speech they gave Conquest in the show and if she heard it at all, what does Eleanor think of it?

Not gonna answer the Eleanor half of this question right now bc I have another ask about it, and I'm compiling all the questions about the finale and that have comic spoilers in them to post in one big post (so I can hide the spoilers). So that'll be out eventually. I'll talk about my own thoughts on Conquest and his monologue though (:

Rambling below the cut as always. I talk about his personality from the comics, but I don't mention any story spoilers. Just a warning in case people want to avoid any mention of the comics at all.

First and foremost I'd like to say that I love Conquest (: I liked him a lot in the comics when he was just seen as purely a killing machine who didn't have any other facets to his character, so I was super surprised to watch the finale and see that they fleshed him out a lot more by going into his personality and inner thoughts. I loved the added characterization. The monologue was crazy, in a good way.

I think it's a fascinating change. Not only was his monologue new to me, but also the little heart bubble scene in space, too.

I've seen a few posts where people talked about a hypothetical Conquest reformation, or headcanons for if he had a human partner, and they always talk about how he would struggle to be gentle because he's so used to never holding back... but I actually have to strongly disagree on that. Largely in part to the blood heart in space scene. It was funny (especially how surprised/confused Mark was for it lmfao), but I also thought it was him 'proving' what he would later say about how he's capable of so much more. Such a big man with immense strength in his body the likes of which nobody on Earth will ever be able to achieve, with a metal arm that we don't know if he's capable of feeling through or not, but we see him being gentle and delicate enough to mold a freezing bubble into a specific shape. He uses both his flesh and blood hand and his metal prosthetic to do so, neither of which he seems to struggle with at all. He's just being a bit goofy and enjoying his time messing with Mark before he gets back into the fight, but it also shows that he has such an immense amount of discipline over his strength. Showing us that he's capable of holding back, of moving slowly and being gentle despite his reputation of being a hurricane or a killing machine. Sorry if I'm just reading way too into something that doesn't matter that much, I thought that scene was neat..

It's interesting to see that he only tells his true feelings of isolation and yearning for companionship to someone who he fully believes is going to be dead soon. He even leans down and whispers it in his ear to make extra sure nobody else could possibly hear it. Like he thinks the only time he can ever be honest about how miserable his life is, is when the person who knows of his secret won't live long enough to tell anyone else. We can see that Viltrumites are clearly very similar to humans in a lot of ways, both physically (despite significantly different strength and durability levels, they still have the same organs and body shape) but also mentally and emotionally. Viltrumites are capable of feeling the full range of emotions that we do as human beings, and it's fascinating that they prove this by showing us that even the seemingly heartless, sociopathic, bloodthirsty killing machine Conquest... actually has his own thoughts about his status as a weapon to be used. Negative thoughts, at that. He doesn't want to be just a tool that gets pointed at the Empire's enemies, with no regard to what he wants out of his own life. So much so that I think violence is the only way he really knows how to connect to others at this point, like all the conversations he has with Mark in the midst of their battle. Picking him back up when he falls, giving him encouragement - yes all of these are because he wants the fight to continue, but I think it's also because the fight is the only time he can 'act friendly' with someone.

I've always been more drawn to morally grey characters like Cecil, or to characters who fit the "made to be a living weapon" trope like Conquest. I love seeing how him being made into a weapon has affected him mentally and socially. Considering how Viltrumites age slower as they get older, with his appearance that means he's got to be, what, several thousand years old? I wonder how much of it was spent in isolation, both physically when he's away on jobs to other worlds where there's no one to speak to, and emotionally because even when he is back on his homeworld or on the Viltrumite warship with his own people, they still don't speak to or interact with him outside of giving him orders. His line of "they send me from planet to planet" made me think that he's always on missions, as if his people are in a hurry to get rid of him. Out of sight, out of mind and all that.

It's clear that Viltrumites are all raised in a harsh environment full of propaganda for their great Empire, and I'm sure any hint of disobedience is punished severely to squash it out of any other Viltrumite, too. Nolan mentions this with Cecil briefly when he says that they don't have "disobedient kids" on his homeworld (to which Cecil rightfully says it's a good thing Mark is more human than Viltrumite lol). This all leads me to believe that the idea of Conquest being something other than what he's been told to become - this mindless animal who lives only to kill and torment others - has genuinely never even crossed his mind. Why would he ever think about disobeying? Betraying the Empire? He doesn't give a shit about them, it's not like loyalty is what's driving him to stay - he just doesn't realize he could leave it. It's never registered in his mind as a possibility at all. It's all very tragic, I think.

I'm not the kind of person to disregard when a character does horrible things just because I like them, though. I just absolutely love it when you get to see why the character turned out the way they are, what drove them to be like that. In the comics we don't learn more about him or his motivations, he's just a mindless beast because it's what the story needed at the time. In the show, he's a mindless beast because it's the only thing he can be with the circumstances he's in. Something something, that one quote about how if a person is only ever treated like a monster, then they'll realize that a monster is the only thing they can be. I think that encapsulates Conquest's inner turmoil pretty well.

However, that isn't to say I think he's just some innocent old man who wants to knit sweaters and shit. Like I said, I try not to disregard when characters do terrible things - and we all know Conquest has done some horrifically evil deeds in the name of the Viltrum Empire. He clearly enjoys fighting and bloodlust, and although I believe that one of the main reasons he enjoys taunting his enemies so much is because it's one of the only times he gets to interact with others outside of being given a command, it's still obvious that he's a guy who likes the violence of it all. Which is why, at the end of the day, I think he's never going to get a reformation like Nolan is getting.

It's not because I think he's incapable of changing, or that he can't put his penchant for violence to better uses - it's just that I don't think the show would ever go in that direction with his character. Something about "out with the old, in with the new", and Conquest is very much 'the old' in this scenario.

Although I have a small bit of hope of being surprised with what they do with him, since they've already changed him quite a bit from his comics personality... I guess we'll find out eventually!
