#help a fellow simmer

Bad news everyone...

Unfortunately, the release of the sclera accessory is delayed because I have a problem that I can't solve.

I worked for a texture that would suit me, and at first I checked how it looks only in Bodyshop, where it looked good, and then I checked how it looks in the game, and it disappointed me.

The screenshots show how smooth the gradients and transparency of the texture look in BS and CAS, and how rough it is in the game.

I tried SimStandardMaterial, StandardMaterial and SimSkin, AlphaRefValue 0/127/255, AlphaMultiplier 0/1 — but all in vain.

It seems that shaders in CAS and the game work according to different rules. I have already encountered the consequences of this when I wanted to make an accessory with transparency, an animated texture and several groups. Then the object also looked good in CAS and bad in the game.

If you have any ideas on how to solve the problem without redoing the textures, please share.

Posting a hood tour to YouTube has been something I’ve been contemplating for a while, so it would be great to get your feedback! It’s a neighbourhood I’ve been playing for about 10 years now, so there’s a lot of lore. 😊

If you have any suggestions as to what you like to see from hood tours (a summary from neighbourhood view; a deep dive into every household; gameplay or narrative; one mammoth video or smaller, more digestible parts; etc), I’d also really appreciate you sharing them.

This time a Help a Fellow Simmer request or myself. I miiiight be looking to retire my 2011 - yes you read it right - Laptop for a newer machine, maybe this time returning to a desktop set up. Since my old boy has been reliable so far, (honestly, this was my best purchase EVER, just currently having some problems with a probably faulty charger), I have been out of what is new and good in the PC world. So my question is, sage people running newer machines, what is good to run sims 2, and for the ones better in the know, what you recommend for heavy image editing. I don't do much gaming, but I looked up that gaming setups and setups for image editing sort of cross paths in specs lol I really don't need all the neon lights tho, and really not looking to break the bank, my budget is not too big. And although I see some of you are having success with Linux, I'm not ready for change right now. This feels like an embarrassing post to make, I used to be very knowledgeable about this topic, I just fell behind in the times by not having to change my system for almost 14 years. So... help a fellow simmer? All suggestions are welcome.

Hi, do you know if there is any way to remove this restriction in SimsPE about the maximum number of vertices and polygons when importing a mesh, or to make it less drastic? The program continues to impose this restriction even on objects without so many vertices/polygons, such as this object has only 2000 vertices. HELP!

Anyone have any suggestions?

Can anyone guess why my game stopped spawning the DJ in community lots with DJ booths? I specifically visited a lot that used to spawn a DJ and it doesn't now either. I only have one mod related to DJ booths, but I already had it back when the booths spawned DJs. Google doesn't help much, so any ideas are appreciated!

I'm having one of those moments, when you are not sure about something because either way has pros and cons. 🤔

I'm self-debating on switching to a different body shape for the fat state on the meshes I work on. Reason being that I find Maxis "fat" states have little to no difference to the default ones, and want more diversity. Specially the male frames.

Problem with using different body shapes: you have to stick to them, or else it becomes clipping-madness. Full body outfits can sort of pass, but Separates are a whole other can of worms.

So I turn to you... what do you guys use (as CC enjoyers) or do (as creators) as regards to the morph states? Do you just stick with Maxis original shapes, do you use custom ones, maybe you use custom body shapes separate from the Maxis system (BSOKs I believe they're called?), or maybe you just avoid Separates?

Let me know what you think, I need some opinions, that'll hopefully help my mind make an educated decision on this 😩

Anybody know how to fix this? The water will NOT fill that rectangle!

The portals are all in a snug line, straight across, on flat ground, where the "seafoam" line is. There is nothing hidden in that space.

Yes - I started with a regular beach lot. Then I un-beachified it with the Lot-Adjuster, moved portals, built the pier, sculpted/moved the water line, re-beachified it.... Gah! Help?

Hi Nikki! First off, I'd like to thank you for your contributions to our sims games, you've made so many of my 4t2 wishes come true! I was wondering if you had the old (pre Dec22 update) meshes for AM, TM and EM EP10 sweater mock neck? I replaced them with the new ones, only to realize I really liked that loose fit. Could you share them if you still have them handy? If you don't (or don't like them to be available anymore), that's perfectly fine, too.

I'm sorry, @plumbbobtoggled! I don't have them anymore (I even looked back into my workshop archive and other save files), but I'm sure someone kept them around and will provide the meshes

Hi there, not sure if you can help me with this but, I noticed every time I click on an apartment lot from the map view it freezes and takes at least a minute for the apartment lot to load the resident profiles. I don't have this issue with normal homes, just apartment lots. I tried looking this up but can't seem to find anything on it. I'm not sure if you may know about a mod or anything that can fix this. It doesn't crash the game but it's just kind of annoying.
