HelsaTober 2022
I didn't know whether to make the #InkTober with the official list or make one myself, so I found this #HelsaTober list and I loved it.
I will not let this shipp die so easily >: v.
Day 1. Betrayal: This is about a Descendants Au, where Hans and Elsa have a daughter. Since they did not accept the relationship in Auradon, they were going to escape far away, but thanks to a misunderstanding, Hans decides to steal his daughter Holly because he believes that Elsa He betrayed him and then Elsa feels hurt and betrayed also because Hans stole her daughter. This Au is in process but I hope you like it.
Day 2. Servant. The first Fanfic that I read from this shipp was that Hans as punishment for what he did in Arandelle was sent to serve Queen Elsa, as I remember Elsa makes him her personal assistant and they begin to fall in love and something happens that Elsa has to marry to remain queen and ps she chooses Hans as her fiancé and Hans's brothers arrive in the kingdom (in that fic the author made them less HDSPM) that's why I made this drawing Hans and Elsa working together from here to there with a new style of chibis jdjsj.
Day 3. What if.... I improvised this but imagine that Hans and Elsa knew each other as children but then Anna's accident happened and the doors were closed, after years during her coronation they meet again but up to this point Hans already he had run into Anna.
I'm late but here are the first 3 days and I think that's what I'll do with the rest of the month, I hope you like it and credits to the Facebook page Helsa Amor Verdadero for the #Helsatober list.
Come out bye~

Some of my favorite Helsa fan arts I’ve done throughout the years (dates are in the alt text).
I’ve been thinking about this ship recently, especially its place in the fandom, and I have some thoughts (read below)
Ever since I was roped into this franchise 10 years ago, I think I’ve almost always drawn Hans with a beard. Primarily, it was because I felt that if he ever did show up again in Frozen media, he would be more weathered and unpretentious about his appearance since dropping his facade in the first film. Also because I just thought he would look better with more facial hair (it’s a me thing).
As for Elsa, I’ve never been consistent in drawing her, as it was hard for me to read her animated model, what with her huge eyes and baby nose, as normal, so that’s evolved over the years to a happy medium where it still reads as Elsa, but also reads as human with normal face proportions.
As to why I’ve shipped helsa all these years? Hans and Elsa are two sides of the same coin to me, the main difference being that one of them succumbed to their worst intentions and desires, while the other freed themselves and learned to embrace love and peace in their life. Both were isolated during their childhoods, resulting in years of loneliness, misery, and bitterness; both try to appear poised and reserved, hiding their inner self-loathing; both are intelligent and cunning, both have a definite aggressive streak, and both have interesting chemistry in their very few scenes together. Hans seems to be the only one on equal footing with Elsa who can get through to her throughout the film, mainly for his own ambition, of course, but it intrigued me to see even all these years later how compelling their interactions are.
Why would he sympathetically plead, “don’t be the monster they fear you are,” and stop her from killing those two guards? If he was planning on killing her, why would he go to her and ask if she could stop the winter? Why does he look shocked, almost sad when she tells him that she can’t, like he’s regretting having to kill her? It’s moments like these that paint these characters with more nuance than meets the eye.
I’ve always thought after the first movie, there was definitely potential for a more nuanced and interesting story if Hans were to return. Not simply for revenge, but rather an “enemy of my enemy is my friend” situation, where Frohana would have to work with Hans somehow to fend off an invading force or adversary, like the Southern Isles, to stick it to his family. He and Elsa would be adversarial, for sure, but through forced cooperation, they could open up and become more vulnerable with one another. The amount of angst and turmoil over their feelings for one another would be doubly engrossing. The drama would be incredible.
Now listen: I don’t really expect any of that to happen. I got off the Helsa or die party bus years ago and I’m just mainly enjoying it as it’s own non-canon concept. Believe me, I would love it if it did happen, god willing and the creek don’t rise. But really, when you get down to it, these are movies marketed at little girls, and I don’t think it would really go that far. It’s not easy to come back from holding a sword over a girl’s head, as quoted by Santino Fontana himself.
I grew up with this fandom, I started all the way back in middle school 10 years ago, and this has been a definite learning experience for me in separating the extrapolated world of fan-fiction and the reality of a pg animated musical. I’ve grown up and my expectations are different, and now I understand that canon doesn’t mean shit. I beg, do not take any of this seriously. Just because it has the Disney trademark slapped on it does not mean it’s the end all be all of a story. Stories are fluid things that adapt and evolve in each of the hands they pass through. No one interpretation of a story or a character or a relationship has to be “the right one,” and not every character has to sit on a black and white scale of moral dichotomy, there are always shades of gray.
I’m not saying all of this to be deep about a ship between a Disney princess and a Disney villain that I got into when I was 13, believe I know it’s not that deep. I’m saying this because I’ve lived through fandom and set myself up with false expectations, only to be disappointed. Hell, I took a break from helsa for a solid 3 years because of how burnt out I was. It’s far too easy to dissociate from the text and treat fanon as canon; you’re just setting yourself up to be disappointed. Just let it be its own thing! Like I said, canon does not mean shit! Don’t take things so seriously! Feel free to tell your own stories!
Anyways, I still love this ship, or at least the version I came up with in my head, because I am a storyteller, and I saw potential in these two that could be realized through other means. It doesn’t matter to me if it’s canon or not. Just enjoy it as it is.

Little Spoon
Rating: T Pairing: Hans/Elsa
I suddenly had the urge to write these two again so @nap-hime provide me with a quick prompt and I whip this out
If this feel a little depressing then blame Youtube because “The Next Right Thing” played at the right time
It still haunted him.
He never truly talked about it, didn’t want to concern those around him over something so… trivial such as this. He knew that they were past it—it had happened yes, but then it didn’t, and it was what mattered, didn’t it?
Everyone else seemed to have taken it with a confident stride, had perhaps even moved on from it, and he was sure he had as well. But then, from time to time, although sparse and far in between to the point that he was sure he would not experience it again, it had come back to him.
This nightmare that came from the depth of his mind—his heart, that rendered him into feeling so useless—helpless, muscles tense and yet he was unable to move at all, frozen in place as he was forced to recall everything. The aching in his heart as if it had been squeezed and rip right out of his chest, he gravity that pulled him down until it felt like he was drowning, how his throat had felt like closing up and choking him from inside out. He would wake up then, panting and drenched in sweat, as he reminded himself that it was all just a dream.
Tonight, though, it was worse.
He watched—because that was all he could do, as her body had slowly turned into ice, how her blue eyes were blown wide with fear as she looked at him, calling out to him, reaching out as she cried out for him to help her, as she sobbed and panic as she repeated the same words over and over again.
“Hans, I don’t want to die! Please, Hans, help me! I don’t want to die!”
But he couldn’t move, he couldn’t reach her, his body was not cold and it was not turning into ice the way hers was, but he was frozen in place. He couldn’t even mutter a word back at her no matter how hard he tried.
This was usually where he would have woken up, this was supposedly when he would open his eyes to find himself in the darkened bedroom, lying down and facing the ceiling as he calmed his breathing down.
He was not waking up though.
He kept staring at her, he kept his eyes glued to the frozen solid statue of her—face contorted forever in fear, a hand reached out toward him as the other curled against her chest.
And suddenly he could move.
Because he was approaching her statue now, the closer he was the more details caught his attention. Even as an ice statue he could see the dusting freckles across her face, could see the individual lashes of her eyes, the plumpness of her lips now blue and stiff.
His hands reached out to cup her face, the coldness that seep through his gloves, staring into the lifeless eyes of hers.
Yet he had no chance to grief, to cry and to beg her to wake up and come back to him, because her frozen solid hands had suddenly grabbed hold onto his wrists, holding him in place with vice-like grip that stung his skin, and her face had now contorted into one of anger—of fury that he had never witnessed before.
“Why did you let me die?!”
His eyes shot open then, gasping for air as if his chest had been deprived of it, yet he had not seen the ceiling he was expecting.
No, it was her face that filled his vision, hovering over him, concern knitted deeply into her brows and overall expression, and only now had he realized that she was grabbing him by the shoulders.
“Hans!” her voice was laced with both relief and question as she stared down at him. “What’s wrong? You were trashing in your sleep and I couldn’t wake you up.”
He realized his eyes stung, blurry, before her thumb came to swipe the running tears away from his face before her hand rested gently against his jaw. His arms came reaching up until he could wrap her in his embrace, pulling down and flush against his own body. Her skin was cold, but this was the coldness that he was familiar with, this coldness was not biting nor that it stung, this one was comforting, this coldness was his Elsa. Alive and well.
Her breath brushed against his neck as she softly sigh, lashes tickling his skin as she blinked and closed her eyes.
“Do you want to talk about it?”
Usually, he didn’t. But this dream, this particular one that was different than the others, pushed him to open his mouth, to pour out everything that had been plaguing his mind restlessly. How she had died and then didn’t, and how the grief had consumed him despite its brief existence.
Because he was afraid. He didn’t know what he would do without her, didn’t know how he could live should he lose her, didn’t know how he could keep on standing when the thought of her dying somewhere that not one of them could reach gnawed on him from the inside out.
And she had listened to every word, had assured him that she was there and she was not leaving, had sat with him in their bed as they talked, had took his hand and place it against her chest where he could feel her heart beating and assured him that it was just a dream.
“Hold me.”
It had been his request and she had nodded without question as both assumed their place under the covers once more. Like this, he couldn’t really smell the scent that came from her loose platinum blonde hair, but he felt secured with her arm over his body, he felt safe by clutching her hand against his chest as she pressed her body against his back.
He felt her lips—plump and soft and warm, against the nape of his neck as she kissed him there.
“Don’t worry, I’m here.”

I'm being criticized for not being able to stay silent when I see Hans fans and HElsa/Hans + Elsa fans romanticizing abuse. At least the guys are finally showing their fangs and how they really see the franchise haha

I'm kind of worried about you guys
Recently I've been revisiting the Frozen franchise after taking somewhat of a sabbatical from it for the longest time, rewatching the movies and shorts, and I am currently going through the Frozen 2 documentary. This was mainly for nostalgia, but I wanted to try and understand the franchise from a more critical, technical perspective, and I've come to some insights that I think are worth sharing.
I already voiced my opinions on the frozen fandom in another post, especially in regards to helsa, but since I've been revisiting the old stomping grounds and reading recent posts, it's been concerning to me the level of emotional distress people were having over the treatment of Hans's character.
Now, from what I've gathered from the "text" itself (the movies and shorts, and the frozen heart novel), and from the documentary, I don't really get the sense that the writers and producers at Walt Disney animation have this vendetta against a single character. I don't think it's that deep. Despite the fact that our corner of the fandom believes that the character of Hans has potential, I can assume that the creative team doesn't really consider him to be anything more than a typical Disney villain.
Now I can't really say anything about the potential "hints" at his future redemption or a possible relationship with Elsa, but from what I understand what goes into the creative process during production, I don't think there is a guiding decree that declares that all Disney merchandising material have these hints. Most likely it is an accumulation of random chance and personal decisions down the production pipeline that have nothing to do with orders from the chain of command.
As much as it was exciting to me to read into stuff like this when I was younger, like the Hans and Elsa dolls getting paired together, for example, I think the logic still stands that currently his character is meant to be perceived negatively. And I don't think that's meant as a personal slight against our side of the fandom, that's just what the text says and what the general audience currently accepts.
I don't know if the creative team or Jennifer Lee has seen all of our posts or discussions, I don't know how they personally feel, but as a writer and an artist I feel that the vocal angry callout posts, fandom infighting, and actual petitions to get people fired over how a story should be written, ones that they might have seen, are especially harmful to the creative process. It's not up to fans how a story should be written, and as much as fans may not agree with certain creative decisions, it is ultimately up to the creators themselves whether they take that input or not.
Like I've said, PLEASE DON'T TAKE THIS STUFF SO SERIOUSLY! It's two PG animated musicals that are marketed to little girls! There's a frozen-themed waffle maker! Canon doesn't mean shit! You can play with these ideas and adapt them through other means! Just because it doesn't have the Disney logo slapped on it or has professional CGI animation doesn't mean that your fan fiction or fan art is any less valid or cheapened. And listen, I understand having these feelings; I was disappointed when Hans wasn't in Frozen 2, I was disappointed about how the movie ended, or that Helsa probably wasn't going to become a thing, but eventually I grew to understand that that wasn't up to me. We are not entitled to make the creators do what we want.
We have to have a sense of emotional maturity and media literacy here, not just for this little microcosm of fandom, but for investing in all media in general. There is so much more that goes into the creative production pipeline. It takes a team full of people, hundreds, thousands, that make stories like this work. Scouring the internet for story crumbs and hints and theories is only going to frustrate you more and taking that frustration out on the creative team online isn't going to make your case or help anything. If anything, you're only coming across as kind of intimidating and aggressive, and creators don't really react well to that.
Now listen: I am not trying to police how anyone reacts to a piece of media, I'm not trying to come across as somebody on any sort of moral high ground. I only encourage those who have been disappointed and frustrated to put things into a larger perspective. This is a Disney animated film series marketed at little girls. If they want to bring his character back, that would be great! If they don't, who needs 'em? Please just enjoy what you are able to do with these characters and this story. You certainly don't need validation from the house of mouse.
