Jack: Yeah, he-he wasn't all bad, my dad. Uh, that's what makes our parents loom so large in our heads, I think. They're… a million things to us all at once.
And even after they're long gone, we're stuck with them. Can't help it. They're inside of us. You know, my whole life, I promised myself I'd be nothing like him, but…I ended up just like him.
Kevin: No, Dad. You're way better than him.
Jack: Thank you, my son. And you're gonna be way better than me.
— 5x07, This Is Us
#this is us watch#gonna rb this in a sec to say exactly this but. scenes that could've been dean and jack. scenes that ARE dean and jack. 2 me.#the father son relationships on this show are soo good and rich and they GET the complexity of the dynamic between fathers and sons#and it's the exact same complexity dean has for john. that ability to hold both love and hate for a parent#and neither feeling cancels the other out. they both just. co-exist#and that's what jack (this is us) is getting at here. that your parents can be a million things to you all at once#that you can love them for the good times and hate them for the bad and you'll carry them with you forever#you imagine them to be one way all your life then you grow up and realize oh. they were just a flawed person like anyone else.#or you become a parent and you worry you're becoming like them. and at the same time u realize how hard it is to be a parent#how easy it is to mess up without even trying#and you'll talk to your son about it. and you'll fear you're doing everything wrong#and your son will look at you and say 'no dad. you're way better than him'#and you'll hope that your son turns out to be an even better person#because you just want the best for your kids.#and just. this is a scene dean and jack could've had. another time they go fishing and john comes up#and dean tells him how bad it was sometimes. but how it wasn't all bad. because it wasn't.#and he'll worry he isn't doing things right with jack. and jack will look at him like he's his hero#because he is. because jack loves dean so much. loves the quality time they spend together. it's their love language#and he'll tell him 'no you're way better than your dad'#and dean will do the ol' face pat. like he's done before. like bobby used to do with him. and draw him in for a hug#anyways. i feel fine abt it.#fathers and sons !!!!!!!!!!!!

Man suddenly i want Technus and Ghost writer to team up and put danny in a mutiple ending Visual novel. To teach him of caused and consiquenses.  And for Danny to Escape he had to complete all ending. But he already complete all ending with his well known possible allies and enemies. Who could he be missing.

my pkm hc for ludger & casey:
Tumblr media
half of them are self-explanatory, and the other half are just the vibes lmfao
i heavily associate luxray with ludger because it's the only "fake" dark type pkm in his team, implying the truth about his self-proclaimed villainy. it holds a flame orb that occasionally inflicts a burn status and a portion of damage to itself in exchange for a massive boost of power when using Facade and especially with its Guts ability — which is just in line with how emotionally motivated he actually is under his mask and how much he willingly destroys himself in order to achieve his goals.
meanwhile, one of caseys primarinas moves is sparkling aria, which could eliminate the burn status of its targets on contact, signifying her wish to help ludger heal but the cost would be standing in his way of achieving his true desires as well as ruining ludger himself and whats left of their current relationship.
caseys water/fairy dual type primarina can easily wipe out most of ludgers dark type pkms due to type effectiveness but chose not to because... reasons.
ludgers luxray is an electric type pkm that can annihilate half of caseys team but also chose not to because... reasons.

What a privilege to participate in @herocomplexgallery ´s new exhibition, Action 80s! Check it out to see some mind-blowing pieces by many awesome artists. Big Trouble in little China blew my mind when I was a kid and I'm very fond of it. My favourite part was this moment of ol' Jack Burton's buddying up before the big battle. You can find it as a Glicee print available on the HGC website. 🚚👹

Hello again!! Her and Hugo did meet at work! Specifically before Hugo ended up throwing Henderson out of an airlock for his job lol (her name is Noa Simmons, I have a whole bunch of art of her on my blog! I usually use the tag '#s/i: noa simmons' for her, and '#otp: golden shot' for stuff about her and Hugo's ship)
So basically the gist of it is that Hugo accidentally walks in on Henderson and Noa having a meeting disagreement with each other. Before Hugo can say anything, she storms out of there. They meet again later on, where Hugo finally has the chance to introduce himself to her. He assumes that she's also a middle manager, like him, and lies about himself to make it seem like he's more important than he actually is. Like, for example, say that he's the Senior Vice President of Securities Propaganda when he actually isn't. Little does he know, she's actually the head of Weapons Development (she isn't his boss, but she is at a higher position than him) and has just been playing along in order to manipulate him. She knows he's lying about himself (because it takes a liar to know a liar), but she feeds into his ego and pretends to buy into what he's telling her.
I imagine that Hugo was already going to kill Henderson for his own reasons (like making sure Rhys isn't able to get his promotion, something Hugo was also trying to get. He knew that Rhys was definitely going to get it, so he decided to beat him to the punch and take Henderson's place), but Noa just gives him more of a reason to do it. Not only to impress her, but also to back up all of the lies he's been telling her.
And it kinda goes from there after that, where Hugo does a lot of her dirty work in order to try to step up to her level, and Noa slowly falling for him (though, she tries to convince herself that she isn't lol). And eventually, they end up being partners, both in crime and the romantic sense. There's a lot more to them, but I don't want this to be too long!
Anyway, I'd love to hear more about your self ship with Jack! :D How did you guys meet?
Heheh Golden Shot is such a good ship name. I love that!!
I LOVE their meeting. That's so. I would expect nothing less from him after seeing a pretty lady. No brains just "I am gonna be SO convincing she'll fall in love with me! HA!" And then, the fact that she totally knew he was lying but let it happen... Truly made for each other. A real Hyperion power couple!!!
Does Hugo ever tease her or otherwise about the fact she totally fell for him at the start and he definitely knew from the start? Or does Noa ever do that to him where she's like "I knew you had a crush from day one. I just wanted to see how far you'd go~."
I imagine Hyperion gets worse once those two are scheming together... Good thing I'M not working there. But more power to those two, I hope they have fun <3!
---
As for Jack and I hehehoo.
But, basically, Jack kind of knew Tricks (known the as The Demon), when he was haunting Elpis. He was... Trigger-happy to say the least and a bit of a wild card but Jack had him help the Vault Hunters at one point. The Demon wasn't going too but after hearing it was Jack who needed the help, he couldn't pass up the opportunity.
Sometime after this, Jack has the Vault Hunters AGAIN go to him for help but he is quite literally nowhere to be found on Elpis. He's gone. This is because of an incident that got Too Big to handle and The Demon had to kill himself off to avoid the heat of it and flee. So, down to Pandora he goes. The only place for a mercenary on the run! (And not at all just where the ship he stoed away on happened to land. He was really hoping for something better.)
On Pandora, he took on a new name, and a whole new look. He also mellowed out more on Pandora. Lost some of his edge Jack would say. But he kept killing, kept doing jobs and such.
This actually led to him taking a job from a Hyperion worker. They wanted this echo log in a bandit town and Tricks was like "weird, but ok." So he went there and just, everything happened all at once. More kills than he planned, Hyperion fighting back, learning it was a setup, that name Handsome Jack I swear I knew a Jack... And oh! I'm getting shot at!
He tries to hide and run but he gets caught by none other than the man himself Handsome Jack! Lookie here, we have a hero. And the man who's been real friggin annoying to my plans.
Jack gets Tricks bloody and on his knees, propping his head up with a gun as Jack relishes in the emotions in Tricks' eyes. (Yes it is very homoerotic, thank you for asking!) Eventually it clicks that Tricks KNOWS this man. That's the geeky little programmer. He starts to talk faster that he knows Jack, that he shouldn't shoot, and Jack rolls his eyes about to say he hates this whole begging for life crap but the sun catches Tricks' fangs and Jack remembers those weird teeth. Why, it's his old pal.
So Jack hoists him up, brings him back to his office and they catch up!
And the rest is history from there <3. The ship takes a turn after that where, originally Tricks was more or less "in power", and now Jack is very much in power and manipulating Tricks for his own gain. Tricks doesn't notice (or doesn't seem to care) because once he falls for Jack he falls hard and Jack has someone so loyal that even when dies Tricks doesn't stop living in his shadow.
They have lots of gay moments that aren't straight up just Jack manipulating a broken man who clings to him because Jack is also his only friend but I won't lie and say sometimes it is a very one sided relationship where Tricks loves Jack more than he loves him. Though Jack DOES care for Tricks! It's just... Well... Complicated

You've shared some things about seeing Jack as a baby as being ableism and I was wondering where you stand on this issue?
I'm assuming this is about the poll I shared. I think where I land right now on this particular issue: I assume the most charitable view I can. Escapism is the point for a lot of folks, so I try not to begrudge them that.
Some other, more rambling thoughts:
1. Jack had a longer anticipation phase: Unlike Amara and Emma, who are also supernatural born-adult cosmic entities, there was a longer anticipatory phase with Kelly, where we were excited about her pregnancy and anticipating her baby.
We journeyed with Kelly through being anguished over her decision-making and bonded with Cas over buying diapers etc etc. We also got to know Kelly (and Kelly's parents) way more than Emma or Amara's human parents. I think this attenuates some of the fandom preferences. NOTE: (Amara refers to herself as a child when she came to earth, saying of Crowley, "He tried to control me when I was a child." So I think the prodromal phase to her primordial emergence isn't as cut-and-dry as we'd like either.) But the thing with all of them is their growth is clearly presented as abnormal and outside the scope of a typical "human" experience. They are all characterized by their powers and their massive, massive intake of information. They all overshadow human sensibilities with their vastness, and overpower humans by leaps and bounds.
Simply put, they're much much much higher on the food chain, and that causes intense anxiety in their human relationships, something AU Michael keys into for Jack in The Spear:
Tumblr media
via @spnscripthunt
Jack was afraid Michael was right. That he'd grow into thinking of his familial loyalties the same way we humans think about hamburgers or clothes.
Tumblr media
I'm also thinking of this quote:
"As exquisite as the natural world is, however, there exists a violent underbelly that, for some reason, mostly goes unnoticed...In point of fact, the survival of any one species depends entirely on how successfully it's able to willfully kill--and usually eat--its neighboring species. Even human vegans and vegetarians survive by the demise of plants. Moreover, if you're wearing clothes as you read this, you're wearing death." -Randall R Scott from Entanglement is Not Spooky
In physics, the word information is closely related to microstates and probabilities. In some limited circumstances information is functionally similar to entropy. However, information is no substitute for knowledge and experience. I think the cosmic entities have way, way more information than humans, but not always more wisdom, so the power imbalances aren't super cut-and-dry. (This is why I write Jack-Harper like this.)
In fact, I think humans can naively latch onto the "perceived" playfulness and strangeness of the cosmic entities as a means to ease the anxiety of the inherent, extreme power imbalance. (Example: sexual inexperience is not a meaningful indicator of "innocence" when the same character is also an experienced war mongerer and cannibal. For a human to assume that is silly. Naive.)

2. The Jack infant pushback analysis is helpful for me: I've found the ableism analysis really helpful for delving into Jack's own perspective of who he is, how he relates to and moves through the world, and how he is perceived by others.
Simply put, I like it.
I'm a weirdo, (I test around 21-23 on the autism quotient, around your average chess champion), but that's a long way from having enough autistic traits to say what is or isn't ableism on this issue.
Even if that's not your primary mode of viewing Jack, I found it helpful for viewing Jack as more than just an accessory, more than fanon wish fulfillment. (Though wanting happiness for character is, as I said above, completely understandable) I really like Jack as a complex character all on his own.
And for that, I love how it tickles my brain. I'll start tagging it #complex jack and #culture hero jack if that helps!
///
3. Is baby Jack my favorite thing? No. But I've decided to focus on just...writing more actual Jack meta instead.
I want to emphasize the complexities of his role as WAR SON and the idea of his effervescence as at least partly defensive performance (a la analogous to performing!Dean). He's a pretty sassy mofo; Kelly Kline is too.
I think a lot of his interiority being similar to Mary is fascinating. (They are both child soldiers.)
I also like how the TFW dads’ views on Jack are often analogous to how they view themselves.
So you'll find I write a lot of that kinda stuff instead.
///
4. Culture hero Jack: I think if I had to characterize where I'm at with Jack as a character, I get the most mileage out of the Born-Sexy-Yesterday trope (Like Vision from the MCU) and Culture Hero myths (which often features babies born as adult males who are at war with their murderous God!grandfathers).
It's not to say that's better or more right. I just dig it. You'll find that I write and share what I find personally compelling.
There are a lot of opinions that I find well-argued that...simply don't do anything for me right now. Sometimes it's a vibe I'm just not feeling, sometimes it's a topic I exhausted in my youth and am just extremely played out on.
For now, I just focus on the ones that do it for me. :-)
Sorry that got rambling.
I hope that answers your question and makes you feel open to me sharing some of this stuff without feeling like maybe I'm bashing you if you enjoy that content? Anyway... :-)

ranking torchwood members by how nightmarish the blunt rotation would be. number 6 ultimate least worst is gwen but only because i love drama so much and don’t mind comforting people if they cry. any smoke sesh w gwen you’d walk away knowing the funniest most insane interpersonal drama on the planet. three hits in her eyes would already be getting red and she would lean over and say “SWEAR to me you won’t repeat this to anyone, but” gwen babygirl i am all ears. i would roll for you and just sit and watch you smoke it. at #5 honorary mention for suzie. she would find the perfect music for the vibe. she would roll an immaculate joint. the conversation would be heartfelt, pleasant. real.. by the time i realize i’m slowly dying and she’s gaining strength i wouldn’t even care tbh. ideal joint-sharing experience. #4 would be owen because i know that as long as i laughed at his jokes he would smoke me up indefinitely. his delusion that he’s cool and badass would get more embarrassing and apparent when high like mac it’s always sunny levels . and you might have to suffer some hero complex stories but i just know his very cool-looking bong has crystal clear water the second he knows anyone’s coming over. #3 is easily ianto. high chances of bringing a really uncomfortable weird energy to any smoke sesh. i once met a guy who said he’d been practicing rolling joints since he was a kid with paper and pencil shavings and then rolled the joint that fucked me the hardest i’ve ever experienced and that’s what smoking ianto’s shit would be like. except he’s just sitting there looking at you with wet dog eyes the whole time. his vibe would be still weirdly too professional, like the business major who tries to network at house parties. toshiko my lady.. second worst person to smoke with in torchwood not for any awful reason. her jokes would be the funniest out of all of them. her laugh would be enchanting. but you can tell she’s so nervous and trying too hard and the vibe gets more and more awkward and you desperately want to tell her it’s fine but you worry calling attention to it might make her feel worse and you stare at her and she stares at you, takes a beautiful bong rip, and says something so self deprecating you have to look away. the #1 most nightmarish person to share a joint with in torchwood is obviously jack. he pulls out a bag of purple shit, a strain he informs you is called ‘megacock OG’, and loads it into his 23rd century fucking instant vaporizer and promises it’s “got a hell of a kick” and you blink and it’s 20 minutes later and you’re flinching nearly shitting yourself every time his stupid fucking dinosaur swoops overhead ,sweating buckets, and he’s grinning slapping the table laughing opposite you while his genuinely cringeworthy sex stories, seemingly endless, ring in your ears like churchbells.

Colin Bridgerton saying "what good am I to you" - He just wants to feel needed. Because he never has. Third son. No responsibilities next to his brothers. That makes a hero-complex. He still wanted to marry Marina for the simple act to save her and she tried to trap him with a baby that wasn't his. All he's ever wanted is to feel useful. Because that's all he thinks he's good for. He thinks his value lies in being needed, not wanted. In his mind if Pen doesn't need him for something, he might as well prepare for the day to lose her. Because what good and value will he provide to her without the passed down financial stability, the physical strength to haul a hot air balloon so that she is safe, and the ability to protect like in the Cousin Jack scheme.
And then Pen says in the trailer, "I have always loved you." *cries*
