I don't actually go to cafés that much? I don't drink hot drinks often enough to warrant it, if I go out for food it's for an actual meal. It's usually a Coke (or at least it was, but now I try and find something else unless there really isn't anything else), I guess? I will occasionally partake in a hot chocolate if it's very cold. But I don't go out of my way to go to cafés, tbh. What's the point? What on Earth does a café have that home doesn't?

Only, even as she thought it, she caught herself: his posture was tighter than she’d ever seen it, his smile more brittle. “It’s just that you haven’t convinced me of your original point,” she said, aiming for a lofty tone. “You made your choice for the living, but by Aeridian measures, Callebero was already dead.” He blinked once at her and then cracked a startled grin. “I suppose I have already conceded that I know little of Aeridian ghosts.” This seemed to settle his wariness, and they fell back into their earlier quiet. He hummed a song she didn’t recognize and continued his work on the fragrant crown. Jisel sat, hands still on her papers but thoughts far afield. “Do you miss it?” she asked after a while. “Your home.” He gave a considering hum and rotated the crown in his hands as if looking for gaps. “Sometimes,” he admitted. “But it is a difficult place to return to after you’ve left, and my space there would no longer match the shape of me.”

Running thoughts on ikepri

So, now that I've started on ikepri, this'll be the post with my thoughts as I play through. I will be including screenshots as I'm going through, but they'll always be under cuts.

So without further ado,

Thoughts from the Prologue (and Clavis's Chapter 1):

First off, what an interesting way to select the next to the throne! I LOVED the encounter in the square (the sword under the chin hnnnnnnnnnnnnnn YES!!!), and seeing the characters all interact was very fun. I must admit, it's a bit, well, weird that Rio was brought to the palace, too? However, I did very much enjoy how Sariel referred to him as our "pet" and he just... went along with it?? that was pretty amusing. also... really should have taken the time to read through all the terms of the contract. Like, good golly madam, this is a big responsibility, and not something to be taken so lightly!! read. through. the. TERMS.

I also am loving a few characters and despising a few others. at the moment, I'd categorize them like so:

Stay away from me. I'm not liking your vibes whatsoever.

Seems respectable. I may like you.

Leon, Jin (maybe... he may also be in the prior category), Luke, Licht

And finally... the introduction of Chevalier. how utterly GORGEOUS. even past the whole sword-under-the-chin thing from the prologue, he is simply stunning in this chapter!

I mean, that is incredible. so brutally, beautifully done. I'm truly in awe ♡

I am really looking forward to what else in in store here :)
