well - i guess it has been all day - i'm certain i knew this y'all 🤷‍♀️

so today's bit of words is from my hockey!alex and bookshop!henry cuz i got a chance to work on that some more in the last week - amongst the new smaller one i'm also working on to hopefully post next week or so - we'll see lol

“Oh, that’s a load of bollocks, you know as well as I do, you can restock those books later. Now is when you will tell Auntie Pezza why you’re ignoring me. You should know you can’t get away with that by now. On our sacred pub trivia day, no less, what have I ever done to you to deserve such treatment?” Pez’s hand goes to his heart like an overly dramatic southern belle about to faint.

Henry rolls his eyes at Pez’s dramatics, “If you know I’m ignoring you, that’s great. You can skedaddle back where you came from so I can continue getting my work done; I’m sure you have some of your own.” “I do. I’m meeting Liam at the Shelter in a couple of hours, but until then, you have me here.” Pez kneels down and picks up one of the books off the pile Henry has on the floor before continuing, “Haz, tell me what’s going on. What knots are you working that pretty mind of yours into? Is this about the enchanting Alexander?” Henry scoffs, “Enchanting? Are we talking about the same person? Because I don’t see how you would get that.” Pez smiles, reminding Henry that he is talking to the person who knows him best in the world. “I heard you were quite enchanted for at least part of the time he was here. I won’t ask again what happened because I know you are, as my dear Liam says, ‘dug in like a tick,’ and it would be useless right now. Remember, though, when you are ready to talk about it, I’m here.” Pez stands up and holds his hand out to help Henry up, and he takes the hand, the olive branch his best friend is extending. Acknowledging the silent agreement that, as always, he will confide in him when he gets his thoughts untangled enough to communicate them. As they walk over to the counter where Pez left the food by the register, he asks, “So why is Liam meeting you at the shelter? Are you skipping out for the afternoon? If so, please don’t tell me the no doubt dirty details of whatever you have planned.” Pez laughs, and the fond roll of his eyes he directs at Henry tells him he is forgiven for going radio silent for the last day. “You know I don’t kiss and tell, at least not sober,” Pez sends Henry a grin that reminds him of some of those times he has done just that. “But, no, Liam is coming to discuss some of the upcoming events we’re arranging with the team, him and Alex.” “Oh.” Henry tries to keep the contempt out of his voice, but based on the look Pez gives him, he’s unsuccessful.

Oh boy. This whole Booktok vs Seattle Kraken/hockey has me reeling.

Gonna rant on here.

Usually, I don’t comment on these kind of things bc it’s wtv, but the gall, the GUMPTION, of some people to come after Felicia Wennberg.

She POLITELY asked people to stop sexually harassing her husband and other players. She said that, while she doesn’t particularly enjoy it, she knows people will thirst for her husband bc he’s hot. BUT, she draws the line at making him (and her + other players & their families) feel uncomfortable by posting sexual comments on his social media posts and catcalling him AND theorizing he cheats on her bc of his new found fame.

It has nothing to do with race, gender, a certain creator’s “fame”, or (and some grown ass adult actually commented this) “wanting to feel like the main character in [Wennberg’s] life”.

News flash, bozo. She IS the main character in his life. She’s his fucking wife and the mother of his children.

You have to be on a whole other level of delusional to think he would ever leave his wife for a rando on tik tok.

(lowkey feel like kate and tyler marrying fuelled the delu-lus. It was fkn unhinged before, but i feel like it’s gotten worse. Idk if people are ready to have that conversation tho.)

If you’ve become a fan of hockey through booktok, fine. Good. Welcome. Im not one for gatekeeping. But people mustn’t forget that players are real people with lives and families. If you wanna thirst, by all means go ahead, but do so respectfully. Asking someone to f*** all your h**** on their fkn IG is not the way to go.

Some Sentences on a Sunday

So, it's Sunday, and well my sinuses have been pounding all day attempting to work their way out of my head I'm certain

Apparently, that means all I write is stuff that is nowhere near where I'm at in what I fondly call 'hockey and books' that makes me wanna cry as if the pain wasn't bad enough lol so I'm a share some of that with y'all - even though it's rough and def needs edits lol

It's a double six sentence sunday today - which means I counted but didn't like where it ended and I do what I wanna really lol

Alex is soaring across the ice, skating the best damn game of his life, getting open, and putting the puck in the net; he’s got himself a hat trick this game. He, Liam, and their team are ahead and just ready to put this baby to bed. It’s less than 2 minutes left in the third period, and they’re in the middle of a power play. Some goons from the other team have been gunning for Alex the whole game, ramming him into the boards with extra force that the officials apparently don’t see, flinging slurs under their breath as they do so. Two of them had finally got caught when they had decided elbowing and butt-ending Alex in front of one of the officials who actually will call it was a good idea. So, now, here they are in the middle of a power play, fast approaching the end of this game and another win - he’s chasing the puck Liam flings in front of him. When it happens, he sees Henry in his seat out of the corner of his eye. He wasn’t even aware he was here this whole game and assumed he wouldn’t be since he had ripped Alex’s heart out only 3 days ago, but there he is, and Alex is distracted for that moment. That moment allows the guy from the other team to come at him and take him completely unaware, with no chance of bracing for the impact as he is rammed into the boards. His whole body is on fire, as the force of the collision with the wall is felt throughout; he doesn’t realize he’s falling until his ass hits the ice. He sees his helmet roll on the ice before he feels the moment of contact where his head slams into the ice. He thinks he hears his name shouted in a familiar voice, only it doesn’t sound like it usually does when he’s heard it. It’s the last thing he hears before the darkness overtakes him.

Alex will be fine, and our boys will work their shit out at some point, but they are gonna suffer a bit more in this than I had planned
